STABILITY NOW, STABILITY NOW!

To tweak a fine old Frank Costanza phrase just a little.

Stability in American politics, as has existed since about 1896, has been maintained by a rough equality in popular support between the two major parties. That equality has never slipped very far. During “landslide” election years, what has mattered most was not the party affiliations of America’s politically involved citizens, but a general sense that one party was “underperforming.” That’s why the key phrase of the Eighties was “Reagan Democrats.”

That stability may be a thing of the past. The reasons are several but easy to understand, once one actually looks past party labels:

  1. Left and Right no longer respect the same core values.
  2. One side no longer concedes the moral legitimacy of the other.
  3. The only bipartisanship in federal politics is about excluding “outsiders.”

Some of that is self-explanatory. “Core values,” which are synonymous with “ultimate goals,” must be shared by the parties to a negotiation if they are to reach an amicable compromise. A writer on negotiation once said during a lecture that “Winning a negotiation is like winning a marriage.” That’s a good way of approaching the matter. Any parley that involves “winning” and “losing” is about arranging a cease-fire, not a compromise.

The aim of the Left these past four decades has been an ever-more-open desire to eliminate the Right as an acceptable political family. That’s a credo of open warfare. It’s a great distance from the attitude that must prevail in a peaceful polity. And of course, that sort of “war footing” on the Left must evoke a matching attitude from the Right, which is slowly coming to be the case.

The total-war attitude comes through in the statements from the leading figures on Left and Right. They have the flavor of eliminationism, the desire to see the other side utterly destroyed and ground into the dust. Along with that goes a “no rules and no limits” mindset that gives rise to amoral tactics, measures of a sort decent persons would regard as foul play, in the drive for victory.

The veneer of “collegiality” in federal politics is easily penetrated, except when the well-established mandarins of both sides band together to exclude those not of “their sort.”

Given the most recent developments, it’s plain that the longstanding symmetry in American politics has been broken. There is no longer peace between the allegiants. There is only the struggle over who shall prevail.

Indeed so. So let’s make sure we win, by any means we must resort to—because the alternative is too horrible to even contemplate.

Hoochie mamaaaa!

“No one is above the law,” eh?

Ooooh, tell me that fairy tale again, Daddy. That one’s my favorite.

No One Is Above The Law? Give Me A Break
Plenty of people are “above the law.” James Clapper, who lied under oath to Congress about spying on the American people, is above the law. John Brennan, who lied about a domestic spying operation on Senate staffers, is above the law. Unlike Trump advisor Peter Navarro, Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder was never going to be handcuffed and thrown in prison for ignoring a congressional subpoena. He is above the law.

Trump’s 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton, is also above the law. The then-Secretary of State set up a private server in her home to circumvent transparency surrounding her slush-fund foundation. She sent 110 emails containing marked classified information, and 36 of those emails contained secret information. Eight of the email chains contained “top secret” information. Every one of those instances was a potential felony punishable with up to ten years in prison.

We learned all of this from James Comey, then FBI director, who noted that Hillary had been “extremely careless” in conducting her business. Comey didn’t recommend charges because, he claimed, the state couldn’t prove Clinton’s intent — even though “gross negligence,” not intent, was the only standard he needed. Gross negligence and extreme carelessness are synonyms. Comey concocted a new standard to protect Clinton because she is above the law.

When Hillary’s husband, also above the law, perjured himself under oath, Democrats argued that puritanical conservatives were only pursuing Bill because of some trumped-up charge over “sex.” Using that logic, Trump’s campaign finance charges related to Stormy Daniels’ “hush money” are also about sex. This is different because Trump is the boogeyman, and everyone knows he’s guilty of something. The important thing is getting that mug shot.

Don’t worry, though; former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says, “Everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence.” By “everyone,” she means Republicans. And if you think this authoritarian formulation is an accident, you haven’t been paying attention. When Democrats were smearing Brett Kavanaugh as a (gang) rapist a few years back, Mazie Hirono was asked whether the then-nominee deserved the “same presumption of innocence as anyone else in America?” After all, this wasn’t about any judicial disagreement but about alleged criminal behavior. The Hawaii senator responded, “I put his denial in the context of everything that I know about him in terms of how he approaches his cases.”

In other words, if you’re a conservative, your politics are evil; and if your politics are evil, you’re probably evil. I imagine that was the rationalization used by Kamala Harris when reading obvious fabrications about Kavanaugh into the Congressional Record. It is likely the rationalization of Lois Lerner or Merrick Garland — both above the law — when they weaponized government agencies against political opponents. It is almost surely the rationalization of Alvin Bragg. This is what justifies the contemporary left’s increasing comfort with deploying the state to punish and destroy political enemies. For many progressives, the legal system isn’t merely a tool for criminal justice (if that) but a way to exact poetic political justice.

Like every other soiled, battered American institution which has been perverted and warped by them, the “justice” system is there strictly as a convenience for them—a tool, yes, to be used as they see fit in pursuit of their malignant authoritarian agenda. Nothing more, nothing less.

America under indictment

There are indictments, and then there are, y’know, indictments.

The Indictment of America
Theoretically a grand jury has indicted President Trump, but in truth the indictment is of the American regime itself.

Like all of us, Donald Trump is a flawed man, but he has become a symbol to those who vested him with a sacred trust. He was made president by us to lead our nation. He fulfilled his part of that bargain, as far as he was able. But too late. The government we asked him to administer was already too corrupt to allow him to do the job, lest they themselves be held to account. Now his persecution for doing what voters asked him to do is breaking the very covenant of government under which we live.

The political drift of the last 100 years has, with a few brief exceptions, been toward authoritarian rule. With the subversion of the English Common Law that had been our foundation, the last bastion of the Republic has fallen. The why and how are worth considering, but the “what” is now before us.

Nancy Pelosi gave away the game (yet again) last week when she said that President Trump had every right to “prove his innocence,” a sentiment applauded by her fellows, who share a total lack of understanding of just how this reverses the presumption of innocence as well as the foundational direction of our nation. When she tore up the president’s State of the Union speech behind his back after he spoke, it was enough to make her sense of the world clear. Her haughty response to a question about the details of the Affordable Care Act—“we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it”—was another. And her mocking laughter in the face of a query about the constitutionality of Obamacare was still another.

A grand jury in New York City has indicted President Trump, but this is problematic. The allegations against him are unworthy of grand jury attention, even after the penalties for these so-called crimes were increased, post facto, from potential misdemeanors to felonies by the wave of a single judicial hand. Laws are now made that way, as if by magic, and not by legislatures as the Constitution once demanded. We are now ruled by men, not laws, and the struggle for power amongst them will ruin us.

Correction: HAS ruined us, plainly. Covering bases that may not have occurred to you, chock-a-block with historical detail, if you only read one essay discussing the Trump indictment—as heinous, sordid, and despicable a sham as ever has been perpetrated—it should definitely be this one. As good as it is, no mere excerpt could possibly do it justice.

2

Is it all coming to a head?

What the shambolic, cobbled-together Trump “indictment” is REALLY all about. But before we get to that, Soros-owned scumsucker Alvin Bragg appears to have stepped on his own tiny dick just a wee mite here.

Oops oops OOPSIE! No matter, though; as long as the Uniparty agenda of defenestrating Trump is served, hey, all’s fair, right? But ultimately, the Men Behind The Curtain would seem to have something a bit more sinister in mind.

BUSTED! Anarchist and Professional Leftist Riot Trainer Lisa Fithian, Is CAUGHT Working In NYC To Incite Trump Supporters, Hoping To Catch Violent Reactions On Camera [VIDEO]
Lisa Fithian is a legendary far-left agitator who trains fellow activists to engage with the opposition in a non-violent manner so they can catch the reaction of the opposition on camera. The 75-year-old radical activist is the best in the business. When the Left wants to start a riot, Fithian is their go-to girl.

For those who are unfamiliar with the work of Lisa Fithian, she is an infamous radical organizer. She organized at Occupy Wall Street, the Ferguson riots, and several other violent events.

Only moments ago, the anti-American anarchist Lisa Fithian was caught on camera with a group of leftist activists standing near a massive banner in NYC with a message that reads: “TRUMP LIES ALL THE TIME.”

Of course, the message is meant to draw Trump supporters in and then, once they get an emotional reaction, catch them on camera attempting to remove or deface their banner.

The identity of their first victim is unknown, but she can be seen standing on the banner and attempting to remove it from the street. She is knocked down by one of Fithian’s disciples as others with her group descend on the woman. Suddenly, Fithian pops into the view of the person filming and keeps her hands in plain view to prove she is not assaulting the woman, as she uses her body to push her.

It’s not an accident that an incredibly large pool of individuals with professional cameras are standing by, hoping to capture Trump supporters reacting to the banner and, thereby, creating confrontations between Trump supporters and the far-left activists. Notice how one of the agitators knocks her to the ground when she pulls the banner out from under her feet and then immediately apologizes in front of the mob scene of individuals with cameras.

It’s the same old tired story we’ve heard over and again, it never seems to end: their violence is speech, our speech is violence. So let this evil bitch be given what she thinks she wants—in full measure, without surcease, until there’s not a single unfractured bone left in her entire withered body, I say. Her, and every other slimy shitweasel like her. Like it or not—and no decent person should, really—if you want to put a stop to this arrant horseshit, that’s the only way it’s ever gonna happen.

Fithian and her vile, loathsome ilk have called this tune; they ought to be made to dance to it, then, until they’re bruised, bloody, and sick unto death of it.

Inconvenient truth update! Can’t say it much better than this.

Stew Peters: Trump Arrest Signals That ‘We Are At War’
Peters warned American Patriots to stay out of left-wing cities where they can quickly be turned into political prisoners, and to fight the coming war on ‘our turf.’

Nationally-syndicated TV news host Stew Peters said in a video statement to his viewers that the politicized arrest of President Donald J. Trump in New York City signals that “we are at war” with anti-American forces – the same ones who stole the 2020 Presidential Election and staged the January 6th false flag as part of a direct, homicidal attack on American Patriots and their duly elected government.

“I see your anger and I know your pain,” Peters told his audience in the video statement, which was posted to Twitter on Tuesday, as the corporate media world celebrated the politicized indictment and arrest of President Trump on witch hunt charges.

“This attack on our country, this attack on President Trump with malicious and obviously politically motivated prosecution is yet another punch in the gut to America First patriots everywhere,” Peters said.

“They’ve been punching us in the gut for years now. They stole our election. They stole President Trump’s landslide victory on November 3rd, 2020. They perpetrated their own illegal coup when they conducted a federal operation to obstruct an official proceeding and force the acceptance of fraudulent electors. It’s a complete disgrace,” said Peters, connecting the dots from the present-day and back to when the global left’s war against Americans heated up, as they fought to depose President Trump.

Good stuff indeed, every word of it true and accurate if mighty discomfiting, of which you’ll find more at the link.

Guerilla culture

NC Scout looks into it: what makes it, where it comes from, what it can do for determined men under the thumb of an oppressive, tyrannical government.

Y’know, like us.

A Guerrilla Movement must be reflective of the underlying culture which it seeks to preserve. I reflected upon my respect for the Afghan. In twenty years’ time, and perhaps forty, counting our exploitation of the Soviet misgivings, the West could never understand the Afghan puzzle. How can a people exist as a throwback to another time, absent the comfort we all come to know? Comfort to the Afghan serves two purposes; one, an outward showing of wealth, the other, a precursor to death. To the Afghan comfort leads to complacency, and at least in my experience, they sought simplicity. For all their failings as judged upon Western scales, they endure. Every aesthetic tells a generations-old story of what brought them to the present, and that story will carry their sons and grandsons forward generations more.

In America a great pain has been made to dilute the role of culture. We can no longer point to any one thing that is a cultural aesthetic, the last being the neon techno artwork of the 1980s. Not since then have we produced anything that can uniquely be identified as American, rather, we point to transnational corporate emblems as symbols of American culture. To the outside world its nothing more than a symbol of exploitation and oppression. But this culture was purposefully murdered, made to be called a ‘melting pot’, a cruel type of menagerie meant to establish a ruling hegemony while forcing out the competition. The old ways of Europe, those that cannot be commercialized, must be seen as rubeish, boorish, and backwards. Things to ridicule.

To a person that lives a steady diet of throwaway capitalism; McDonalds, Starbucks, Apple products, and Walmart; the very same traits exhibited at home are apostate. How can these rubes in their rural enclaves dare continue to exist against our metropolis? Clinging to their God, Guns and religion, how dare they. And that contemptful message of apostasy has given way to shades of genocide.

The people of a place, and thus the culture therein, creates the ecology of the Guerrilla. There are those pockets of cultural resistance in America, having borne the brunt of relentless attacks on its history and cultural significance. I frequently encounter these in my travels, training them to fight. One such is the Appalachian mountain region. Years ago in a conversation Dan Morgan made the observation, as an outsider, that the southern region of Appalachia was as clannish and buttoned up as any he’d ever encountered, paralleling his experience in Afghanistan, taking the better part of a decade to begin to build that fragile trust among the local populace. I chuckled, being intimately familiar with the anatomy of local politics. Those of the unelected kind. Those that are outwardly hostile to any unfamiliar face. These are protective measures to ensure the survival of culture. If you know, you know, or so its said, and if you’re fortunate enough to have been raised in such a culture you instantly understand.

I joking use the term Appalachistan, itself an internet meme among Afghanistan vets, to parallel this reality. I semi-jokingly refer back to another blood-soaked conflict, where a mountain people stared down a first world army that sought to crush them by force. And I only say semi based on the frequent comments people make describing my resemblance to those fighters in a faraway land. Replace Islam with Christianity and you have something of a mirror to the underlying culture of the region. The Chechen example is one that I’ve referenced again and again over the years because its parallel is uncanny to the reality we now face. Seen as backwards people constantly a problem for the ruling elite of both Tsarist and Soviet Russia, they were constantly subjected to genocides, forced relocations, conscription and brutal repression. And yet, the culture endured. The people bore the brunt of time and continued on. Those troubles never ended and thus they never will; struggle makes life worth living. Comfort is the absence of struggle.

The war in Chechnya came into full bloom amid the continuing financial crisis and fallout from the fall of the Soviet Union. The central authority had failed and resorted to force as a means of maintenance of power. When governments are questioned this is universally the case. Having a large number of Chechens who were veterans of the Soviet Afghan War. They knew the failings of Operation Magistral and the tone deaf lessons going unheard in the halls of Frunze. And, at least for a time, they won. Despite the lack of airpower and armor, but well armed with the prerequisite knowledge and understanding that preservation of culture lay upon their shoulders alone. That deafness cost Russia an entire Division of armor in the span of two days.

A disproportionate number of our youth went forward during the ignoble Global War On Terror. Seduced by fools promising small sums of money, we went forth, not in support roles, mind you, but as fighters. And while the luster of those combat awards have faded, it remains an epitaph of the knowledge painfully earned, from both our successes and our failures, in the process. A knowledge to be shared. The Taliban won, and we will too when pushed. We have a culture to be preserved, yours is failing.

Don’t threaten us.

Or, y’know, DO. By all means, do. Fuck around, and find out.

I believe I may have told the story here before of the year or two my brother spent in Boone, delivering log-home kits via eighteen-wheeler into the hills and hollers all around the area for construction companies building dream-home mountain cabins for flatlander Yuppie-types. Jeff got shot at numerous times, potshots sent just overhead or in front of the truck loosed by wild-eyed hillbillies sniping from concealment in the woods, who were not at all happy about the unwelcome incursion and weren’t in the least shy about expressing their displeasure over being displaced from land they considered theirs by birthright.

On occasion, the pissed-off mountain folk would bide their time until the land had been cleared, all the construction materials on-site, the log-house halfway built…and then come down en masse from their tumbledown shacks in the dead of night to torch the whole works, burning everything to cinders and ash.

Jeff said that, after the first couple of months when he’d seen what was involved, his was NOT a restful occupation. In fact, he came to hate the damned job with a passion. But, as he said, it was never boring.

So yeah, threaten away, Pedo Jaux. Bluster, boast, and lecture us all on how we’d have to have F16s, tanks, and battleships to overcome your politicized, emasculated Woke military. Let’s just see how all that works out for ya in the end.

SHOCKING BIGOTRY: NASA reveals its systemic transphobia!

No “transgender” lunatics, Allahu Akhbar-yodeling Mooselimb jihadists, sub-literate Ubangi tribesmen, nor Chinese peasant-villagers were invited along for NASA’s next little shindig. For shame!

NASA unveils Artemis II crew including first woman, person of color to orbit moon
April 3 (UPI) — NASA officials Monday revealed the four names that will make up a team astronauts from the United States and Canada that will journey around the moon next year as part of the first crewed flight of the Artemis mission.

The four include a woman and a person of color, NASA and the Canadian Space Agency confirmed during the joint announcement at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

The 2024 launch date gives NASA at least a full year to test the Orion capsule and analyze further data from the Artemis I mission.

No word on where simple competence fits into NASA’s criteria for selection, as you would expect. Hey, here’s a thought: maybe the “Muslim-outreach” purveyors of PC at our once-admired and capable space agency should consider seeking advice and counsel from Elon Musk on this h’yar venture, no?

A near-miss is still a miss

Hinderaker gets close, but just misses.

No doubt Trump will get a political bump in the short term, but what if the case is still going on when the primary season begins? Will Republican primary voters really want to nominate a candidate who is in the midst of a criminal proceeding that theoretically could send him to jail? I don’t know.

But I do know that today is an evil day in America’s history. The Democrats are behaving like a party from a pre-Enlightenment, pre-constitutional era. Seeing themselves in the driver’s seat, they are making a naked grab for totalitarian power across a broad range of issues and institutions. Indicting a former president on frivolous grounds is shocking, but it is of a piece with the strategies Democrats are following in Washington and across the country.

Emphasis mine. Actually, they’re behaving like an immune-from-consequences Ruling Class Uniparty operating in a post-Constitutional era in which Enlightenment ideals such as individual self-determination, moral rectitude, equality under the law, and the consent of the governed have been—like the Constitution itself—not merely dismissed and forgotten as irrelevant historical artifacts of no substantive interest, but actively flung down and danced upon. Which, in Amerika v2.0, they’re one hundred percent true and correct about. Wolf Howling gets a bit closer still, but in the end also misses the salient point.

Our Constitution and the laws of this nation are nothing more than words on a page. They were written for a people who operated in good faith. There is no more good-faith to be had in progressive America. There are now two classes of Americans. You are either a progressive ideologue operating above the law, or you are a person below the protections of the law and the Constitution.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg has led a grand jury to indict Donald Trump on 30 felony counts, seemingly all without any reasonable basis in the law. Bragg has, with his wholly political persecution of Donald Trump, led our nation across the Rubicon. The last time this literally happened, Rome fell into Civil War and the Roman Republic came to an end. The last time something of this magnitude metaphorically happened in colonial America, the Brits were marching to Concord with orders to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock for treason. How did that work out?

Quite well for the liberty-minded, of course. The problem we have is that today, there is nary an Adams (either John or Samuel), Hancock, Jefferson, or Washington in sight. Whether there still exists a stout Three Percent of “rough men” standing ready to “do violence on our behalf” remains to be seen.

The rest of Wolf’s post is well worth a look, including among other items a brace of highly amusing memes from the prophets at the Babylon Bee.

Would that it were so

Incredible as it seems now, there was a day long ago when David Letterman was actually funny.

I like numbers 7, 8, and 9 best, personally. We coulda done a lot worse than a President Knievel. And, y’know, have.

No, it does NOT take a village

Just another brilliant, insightful piece from the incomparable Dan Greenfield.

Whose Children? Our Children
“Our children or the children of the state?”

“We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents,” MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry argued. “Educators love their students and know better than anyone what they need to learn and to thrive,” the NEA asserted. “Parents claim they have the right to shape their kids’ school curriculum. They don’t,” a Washington Post op-ed bluntly asserted.

A Minnesota bill now proposes to take children away from parents who don’t agree to have them sexually mutilated. Similar bills are working their way through other states.

Behind all the identity politics, the graphic sexual materials in classrooms, the covert gender swaps by public school administrators, critical race theory, drag shows and so much else is a showdown between the family and the state. It’s not a new confrontation, but teenage puberty blockers, suicides, sex and racism manuals have made the stakes painfully clear.

At the heart of sexual identity politics is an obsession with dismantling the family. The embrace of transgenderism by the state is no accident of politics. The family, like race and religion, is the chief rival to the state. The state set out to neuter its rivals through identity politics, using race, religion and finally sexuality to define new identities and use them to make the state supreme.

The great struggle between human beings and the state was always going to come down to the question of whether the system or the family would be the central unit of social organization. In a little over a century a question that once seemed as basic to the understanding of humanity as the differences between men and women was muddied. The government took charge of education and demanded oversight of all the nation’s children because the indoctrination of the citizenry was a vital national interest. But so was the existence or non-existence of the children.

The shift from the single-income family to the two-income family with preschool encompassing children as young as 18 months and then to an ever more intensive chain of state educational institutions happened gradually enough that most parents thought it was their own idea. But what the Soviet Union and Communist China had failed to accomplish, happened in America.

Children, from even before they could talk, were being raised either directly by the state or by the institutions that it closely regulated. The unintended consequences of that, emotional fragility, a lack of healthy models for interpersonal relationships, and an obsession with ‘snitching’ on others that persists well into adulthood, were only the collateral damage.

Teachers and administrators in those institutions are pushing sexual identity politics on children as young as two years old not just because it’s a current leftist fad, but because eliminating the family wipes out any competition. The gradual transitional elimination of the family is rapidly picking up speed. Now the plan is to destroy the family by destroying the children.

To try to argue that it just ain’t so, one must first blind oneself to all observable reality, both current and historical. That’s more than mere folly; at root, it amounts to abject cowardice, submission, and ultimately, death.

Back to the future

My brother-in-Gearheaddom Phil speaks for a cause that’s always been near and dear to my heart.

It’s Time To Start Restoring Older Vehicles And Appliances

Lurch came out and said that FJB is going to be mandating changes to cars and both light and heavy trucks because Climate Bullshit.

This is on top of them already going after gas stoves and now air conditioners.

Every time the government sticks it’s collective nose into consumer goods everything turns to absolute shit.

Anybody else out there remember what a real toilet looked like before CONgress decided they used too much water?

And remember when the dirty cocksuckers banned conventional lightbulbs last year?

Basically if something has a proven track record and works, we can’t have that anymore.

Screw these assholes I say.

If you can find a decent rig from fifty odd years ago, spending half that much restoring it will get you a rig that will last for years and you will be money ahead.

Even if you have to get it from another state and have it trucked in you will be money ahead.

There won’t be a kill switch in it either.

Same goes with refrigerators and laundry machines.

There are guys out there who specialize in restoring old refrigerators and there are still plenty of outfits around that can repair old laundry equipment.

Screw these new computer controlled/ energy and water efficient pieces of shit.

They don’t work worth a damn to begin with and they have a life span measured in months, not years anyway.

Now, speaking of cars specifically, it’s true that the newer ones—though most of them cost two-three times as much as my dad paid for the house I grew up in (19k back in 1962, and it was a nice house too, in a good neighborhood)—they DO have an expected life span of around 200-300k miles before they go kerblooey. Then again, though, you didn’t need a PhD in computer science, two large rollaways full of expensive specialty tools, and a 150k diagnostic machine to work on one of the vintage beater Fords I’ve spent my entire “adult” (HA!) life running, either.

That said, owning the right kind of car can pay off in some unanticipated ways.

Two teens who carjacked a man at a gas station in Germantown, Maryland were unable to drive away because they didn’t know how to operate the car’s manual transmission, police say.

A 16-year-old from Rockville and a 17-year-old from Washington, D.C. were arrested after the carjacking on Saturday at the Sunoco gas station on Frederick Road, Montgomery County police said.

A man had just finished pumping gas and was getting into his car when he saw the two teens running toward him, police said. The teens then forced his door open, grabbed him and demanded his keys, which he handed over to them.

When the teens got into the car, they didn’t know how to operate the car’s manual transmission, police said, so they got out of the car and ran off.

Soon after, officers saw them nearby and took them into custody after a brief chase on foot, police said.

The accompanying video is sidesplitting.

No need to be thinking that this is the only such incident, either.

“Can you even drive a fuckin’ stick, nigga? On my MAMA, I wantin’ to shoot that nigga so bad!” Too, too funny. Clicking on the Tweet will take you over to my own barely-used Twatter account, then you’ll have to dismiss the “Sensitive content” warning to view it. Which, believe me, is worth the hassle.

Step 1: Open mouth; Step 2: Insert foot

How the legislative sausage is made.

‘Garbage’: Jesse Watters Asks Sen. Lindsey Graham If He Actually ‘Read’ A Key Bill He Co-Sponsored

Fox News host Jesse Watters grilled Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina about his co-sponsorship of the RESTRICT Act Wednesday, asking if the senator read the bill he co-sponsored.

“Did the United States Senate just say we are going to protect you from China by spying on you? Let’s try to get some answers out of Sen. Lindsey Graham who supports this and is here now,” Watters said just prior to Graham appearing on the show. “You have got to be kidding me, Senator. Did you read this?”

The White House announced it would support the Restricting the Emergence of Security Threats that Risk Information and Communications Technology (RESTRICT) Act, which targets technology from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, China and Venezuela on March 7, NBC News reported. The legislation does not explicitly name TikTok, but senators supporting the legislation have cited the national-security concerns surrounding the Chinese-owned app.

“I don’t think I support the RESTRICT Act,” Graham told Watters.

“You don’t support this?” Watters asked, “Because you were named as one of the supporters, ‘cause this is garbage.”

Graham co-sponsored the RESTRICT Act, S 686, on Monday, according to congress.gov, joining 20 other senators. Many conservatives criticized the legislation over the potential to be used against American citizens.

Well, hey, isn’t that selfsame “potential” the barely-sub rosa intent of ALL legislation in Amerika v2.0?

Bizarro world prognosis

Peters asks the pertinent question.

Does Anyone See It?

Mentally ill people are inclined to do mentally ill things. Like shoot up a school. But we are not allowed to point out the former thing, because it is a politically incorrect thing to identify a boy who thinks he is a girl (and vice-versa) as…mentally ill.

And yet, that is precisely what such a person is. Unless one takes the position that fantasy is the same as reality, in which case why not endorse the fantasy of a 60-year-old man who insists he is a teenage girl and let him date teenage boys? On what basis would an objection to this be made, if one has no objection to a boy insisting he is a girl and must be allowed to enter the girls’ bathroom, as he is in fact a “girl” himself?

This is, of course, insane.

But one cannot fault the insane. Indeed, the law is indulgent toward them and with justice because an insane person is a person who does not appreciate that he is insane. From his—insane—point-of-view, it is the rest of the world that’s off-kilter. Not him.

The real crisis we have, then, is not one of insanity. It is the encouraging of it, which assures there will be more of it.

Bold mine, and that’s all anybody needs to say about that. But don’t let’s anybody be thinking that this all just came at us out of the blue nowhere, some kind of cosmic coinkydink. Ain’t no such thing.

This began in a mass psychosis kind-of-way with the normalizing of pathological hypochondria and its symptoms, including the wearing of odd garments and the performing of strange rituals. People were egged-on to regard these expressions of mental illness as normal—as opposed to in need of therapy. Indeed, those who counseled sanity were showered with opprobrium for hewing to facts, objective reality—to sanity.

Just as the same opprobrium is heaped upon the sane who refuse to concede the insane as regards the supposed fungibility of sex, that a boy can “transition” to a girl (and vice-versa) and that it actually is so – in the literally true sense. We are thus expected to not merely pretend but to accept as true that a boy who insists he is a girl is one and that if we say he isn’t, then we are cruel and “hateful” people in need of…therapy.

“Accept,” my rosy asscheeks. We’re not only supposed to accept it, but required to actively celebrate it, to act as if the demented are in fact somehow superior—to be neither censured nor pitied, but praised for their infirmity. The end result of this standing of all good sense and rationality on its head is entirely predictable, of course.

Is it any wonder people are going insane? That it feels society is, too?

This girl who shot up the school might not have, had she received the help she obviously, badly needed. Instead she was encouraged to think of herself as a “he”—and got worse rather than better, for the same reason that Crazy Uncle Bill up in the attic who thinks he’s Napoleon isn’t going to get better by addressing him as Your Majesty.

As a society, we once understood this. People with mental problems were treated—or at least, it was understood they needed it. This latter being the most important point, for their sake as well as ours. Having mentally ill people on the loose is bad news. It is something far worse when it is presented as good news – and something to want to see more of.

And that’s the bleakest, most horrid aspect of the thing: we assuredly will see more of it, lots more, unless and until enough of us stiffen our resolve to deal once and for all with the epidemic of Woke “liberalism” that created this whole situation—to make it clear that we will have no more of our children slaughtered, cities ruined, and public spaces made into No-Go Zones for decent people in the name of advancing a warped political agenda.

Close, no cigar

Well dammit, now even the highly esteemed Mike Walsh is missing the essential point. Or so I think, at least. YMMV, as always.

Ron DeSantis has made his first unforced error in his nascent, as yet still-unannounced, campaign for the Republican presidential nomination 2024. Even worse, he showed weakness – and that, in this late-Roman Republic political climate, is an unforgiveable sin. If DeSantis is not to be bullied out of the primaries by the raging bull elephant that is Donald Trump, he needs to do better, asap.

Not just no, but oh HELL no. Wait one while I get the turntable spun up for my broken record: RON DESANTIS NEEDS TO STAY WHERE THE HELL HE’S AT.

To hell with national (notional) “elections,” to hell with running for Prez-Mo-Dent, to hell with all that. If we should’ve gleaned but one hard fact by now from observing the whole “pResident” Biden clown show of a dumpster fire of a shit-circus as it crashes and burns before the eyes of the entire world, it’s that it no longer means one damned thing who might be roosting behind the Resolute Desk and posing for press photo-ops out on the White House lawn. The people who really run the federal goobermint don’t come up for election and/or reelection, don’t pose for pictures, and above all don’t care one whit about being responsive to the Will of Duh Peepul.

If DeSantis doesn’t know this full well, then he’s nowhere near as smart as I thought he was. I note yet again that as of right now, he STILL hasn’t said a damned word about running in 2024, other than that he ain’t gonna. I hope and pray it stays that way, and that he holds to it. If he does decide to run, it will tell us all about him we’ll ever need to know. This might not bode all that well:

Note I said do. Not talk. Talk is Trump’s realm, a world in which only words, not deeds, matter and the rest is just boob bait. The Wall, unbuilt; the Swamp, undrained. The 2020 election stolen right out from underneath him, and by perfectly legal means: they said they were going to do it, they explained how they were going to do it, and they did it. All while Trump was prancing and dancing at pointless rallies. Never mind: things will be better next time, we are told.

Up until last week, action was DeSantis’s realm: taking on Disney, sacking Soros prosecutors, signing a sweeping school-choice bill, firing the board of the leftist New College in Florida and replacing it with sane conservatives not in thrall to the diktats of Wokism; the new board promptly canned its entire, useless “diversity” office. All these events were cheer(ing) moments for a GOP base long starved for victories unbesmirched by Jared, Ivanka, Jeff Sessions, or Stormy Daniels, as well as the promise of further bold, decisive steps to come.

DeSantis was also a rare voice of Republican sanity among the chorus of pro-Ukraine capons in D.C., led by Turtle McChao and Lindsey Graham when he correctly stated that the U.S. has no vital national interest in whatever happens to Vladimir Zelensky and his war-by-photo-op in the historic heart of Russia.

While the U.S. has many vital national interests — securing our borders, addressing the crisis of readiness within our military, achieving energy security and independence, and checking the economic, cultural, and military power of the Chinese Communist Party — becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them. The Biden administration’s virtual ‘blank check’ funding of this conflict for ‘as long as it takes,’ without any defined objectives or accountability, distracts from our country’s most pressing challenges.”

And that’s where he should have stopped. But the media, the warmongering neocons, and Mitch’s minions screamed bloody murder, buffaloing DeSantis into a near-fatal error: in an interview with British professional mediocrity Piers Morgan (someone no American political figure should ever speak with) he backtracked: and by so doing, dug himself deeper and deeper into the media Pit of No Return. Behold the peril of talking (at least as quoted by Morgan):

Writing in The New York Post about the interview, Morgan quoted the Florida governor as saying: “Well, I think it’s been mischaracterised. Obviously, Russia invaded (last year) – that was wrong. They invaded Crimea and took that in 2014 – That was wrong.” The Florida governor, who is laying the groundwork to win the Republican nomination against former president Donald Trump for the 2024 elections, faced a torrent of criticism from Republicans for his remarks.

“What I’m referring to is where the fighting is going on now which is that eastern border region Donbas, and then Crimea, and you have a situation where Russia has had that. I don’t think legitimately but they had,” Mr DeSantis clarified. “There’s a lot of ethnic Russians there. So, that’s some difficult fighting and that’s what I was referring to and so it wasn’t that I thought Russia had a right to that, and so if I should have made that more clear, I could have done it, but I think the larger point is, okay, Russia is not showing the ability to take over Ukraine, to topple the government or certainly to threaten NATO.

“That’s a good thing. I just don’t think that’s a sufficient interest for us to escalate more involvement. I would not want to see American troops involved there. But the idea that I think somehow Russia was justified (in invading) – that’s nonsense,” he said. Mr DeSantis also added that he viewed the Russian president as a “war criminal” who should be held “accountable”. “I think he is a war criminal,” he was quoted as saying.

Mamma mia! As the old political saying goes, when you’re explaining, you’re losing.

Yep—a fact which one would think a man who had given Jurassic Media the back of his hand as deftly and as many times as DeSantis has would be well aware of.

Actually, the only real problem I have with what Morgan says Meatball Ron said above is the very last bit, about Putin being “held accountable.” Maybe so, maybe not, but either way that is NOT within the FUSA’s proper purview. At the risk of sounding like a rock-ribbed isolationist—a position, incidentally, that no lesser a Presidential light than one George Washington explicitly endorsed with the “no foreign entanglements” proposition from his farewell address—we have plenty enough business right here at home to attend to without futzing about overseas in other nations’.

There’s more, but as Walsh’s whole argument is built around the hopefully unfounded assumption that DeSantis will indeed run, I didn’t read it. These days, my only interest in presidential politics is poking fun at the Senile Stumblebum In Thief’s latest tumble down the Air Farce One stairs, and little if anything else.

Which, speaking of.

Yeah, Old Jaux has his palsied hands firmly on the tiller of the Ship of State, doesn’t he? Pfaugh, pish-tosh, stuff and nonsense, I say.

Know thine enemy Part the First

I’m thinking I might start up a recurring “Know Thine Enemy” series like this here. Installment 1, Exhibit A for the prosecution:

KTE 1

It would be easy enough to just dismiss this mindless, hate-crazed freak as just another LARPing Leftard, but don’t do it. Remember what I told y’all the other day about underestimating the enemy? I repeat: Don’t. Do. It.

Update! Do be sure to scroll down to the very end of the above-linked WRSA post; there’s a crap-ton of other good, thought-provoking memes there for your edification and…well, okay, enjoyment might not be quite the mot juste. But don’t miss a one of them anyhoo.

There you go again

You keep using words like “most powerful,” “strongest,” “most lethal in the world,” &c to describe the bled-white and hollowed-out Woke military. I do not think they mean what you think they mean.

An Army of None?

Suppose they gave a war and nobody came? The United States is gearing up for a possible war with China, but it faces a serious recruitment problem. The nation’s youth can’t meet basic standards.

Earlier this year, the Council for a Strong America reported that 77 percent of 17- to 24-year-olds are ineligible for service. About 44 percent of young Americans can’t serve for multiple reasons. More than 20 percent are simply too fat.

The Council didn’t have any good ideas. It discussed the benefits of the SNAP food program and suggested that policymakers “promote healthy eating, increased access to fresh and nutritious foods, and physical activity for children.” A country whose citizens are too stupid to feed themselves without the government both paying for it and telling them what to eat has problems.

Today, the American military relies heavily on the middle class, especially from the South. Sixty-four percent of recruits come from neighborhoods where households make between $41,692 and $87,850. Just 17 percent come from neighborhoods that are better off than that. A roughly equivalent share come from poorer neighborhoods. The South is overrepresented, producing more than 40 percent of all recruits. New England and the West Coast are underrepresented. South Carolina is the most overrepresented; DC (if we count it) is the least.

The military may go further down market. The Congressional Budget Office is considering ways to cut healthcare costs. One option was to “means-test VA’s Disability Compensation for Veterans With Higher Income,” which would save an estimated $253 billion over 10 years. On an annual basis, this would save less than the amount the United States has already spent on the war in Ukraine: about $32 billion. A cut in disability payments would also remove an incentive for the middle class to serve.

Tradition is probably more important. The military no longer celebrates the white Southern military spirit, despite the continued overrepresentation of Southerners. During the 2020 racial revolution, Democrats and cowardly Republicans defied President Donald Trump and required that all bases named for Confederates get new names. “We’re the party of Lincoln, the party of emancipation, we’re not the party of Jim Crow,” said Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE). “We should be on the right side of this issue.” Nine names would go, including Robert E. Lee, A.P. Hill, and George Pickett.

Black Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin praised the Naming Commission’s efforts to “remove from U.S. military facilities all names, symbols, displays, monuments, and paraphernalia that honor or commemorate the Confederacy,” instead choosing names that “echo with honor, patriotism, and history” and will “inspire generations of Service members to defend our democracy and our constitution.” Those turn out to be names of insignificant non-whites.

One exception is Fort Bragg, named for General Braxton Bragg, which will become Fort Liberty. The name change will cost more than six million dollars. Officials say this bland name “conveys the aspiration of all who serve.” Fort Bragg is also renaming all the streets named after Confederates. No doubt this will cure the base’s problems: 31 fatal drug overdoses from 2017 to 2021, 41 suicides in 2020 and 2021, and 11 soldiers murdered or charged with murder from mid-2020 to September 2022.

The Army had a recruitment target of 60,000 last year but it missed it by 15,000. The Army wants more than 500,000 active-duty soldiers, but may have fewer than 450,000 next year. The Air Force is expected to miss its target; the Navy missed its target for officers. Only the Marine Corps made its quota.

I suspect “wokeness” hurts recruitment, but the collapse into drugs, crime, and obesity may have more to do with it. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) denied that an obsession with diversity hurts recruitment. “Diversity and inclusion strengthens our military,” he said. “By every measure, America’s military is more lethal and ready than it has ever been. It is also more diverse and inclusive than ever before. This is not a coincidence.” What’s his evidence for this?

The Army’s head of marketing said the real problem is that the service isn’t “relevant” to most Americans. I wonder why not.

Yeah, me too. Why, it’s downright baffling, is what it is. A puzzler, a real head-scratcher for sure and certain.

Why are recruitment numbers in the toilet? Because hardworking, athletic, intelligent warriors who pursue excellence in their lives want nothing to do with a woke, anti-American, politically correct nut-job factory invested in a Marxist worldview and promoting an overtly anti-Christian, anti-conservative, anti-white agenda. That answer is so obvious that just as with every other important issue of the day — “green” energy-induced inflation, central bank money-printing, government censorship, open borders, warrantless surveillance, surging crime, global war — normal people know what’s going on, while only America’s leaders choose to play dumb (although, in their defense, many aren’t playing).

What makes a superior warrior? An individual willing to rise every day and push his body and mind to the limits. Someone who is capable of taking an absolute beating yet unafraid to get back up and continue the fight. A person who is constantly working to get stronger, be tougher, think more clearly, and achieve tomorrow what could not be achieved today. A warrior works all the time because when he is not working, someone else is, and when those two meet on a battlefield, only one will walk away.

That is not the mindset of today’s woke armed services. Whining, psychobabble, coddling, and grievance-conditioning do not create a superior fighting force. “Safe spaces,” fear of “triggering” words, and fixation on personal pronouns make minds weak. Blaming mental and physical shortcomings on others will always result in future mission failure. Rewarding ineptitude while disregarding merit in the name of “diversity” will ensure a diverse collection of dead bodies when hostile forces strike. No person in harm’s way gives a fig what color skin encases the person fighting to his back; no person in harm’s way has the time to worry about another American warrior’s “social justice” virtue. When it is do or die, skillful excellence alone purchases life, one minute at a time. There is no such thing as a “woke warrior” because they do not survive.

In other words, when waters get rough, the warriors best suited for survival, resistance, and victory are tireless fighters with their heads on straight who are calm under pressure, emotionally resilient, and spiritually robust. That describes a lot of liberty-loving, conservative, religiously devout, family-oriented, patriotic, and proud Americans. It does not tend to include people so confused about their own identities that they aren’t even sure how to describe their biological sex. It does not describe Americans who despise their country’s illustrious history, believe its people to be inherently racist, and insist its foundations rest not on freedom but rather slavery. It does not include self-centered egoists too obsessed with personal pronouns to reflect upon a higher calling or personal sacrifice. It does not include people who would rather fight so-called “global warming,” “systemic privilege,” or “hate speech” than foreign armies intending mortal harm.

Those who find themselves offended easily and who cannot distinguish between language and violence have no place on a battlefield. They are, at best, a nuisance keeping real warfighters from doing their jobs and, at worst, a fifth column assisting the enemy in doing its job — which is to kill and subdue Americans. Woke is a joke, but it is also deadly.

Oh, it’s a joke right enough, but it ain’t no laughing matter. My oft-repeated advice: if you’re in, get the fuck out as quick as you can—any way you can contrive to do so, up to and including just going AWOL, if that’s what it takes. If you’re considering going in, for any reason other than to have your dick chopped off at taxpayer expense, just…well, just don’t, that’s all.

Today’s Woke military isn’t anyplace any sensible, old-school-patriotic warrior-type wants to be. Let the PC pussyfarts, the knob-polishing Blue Falcons and REMFs like “General” Milley, and the hard-charging political hustlers have it. Get the hell away from them all most ricky-tick, as far away as you can possibly get yourself. There’s trouble up the road, and you do NOT want to find yourself caught up in it with some dick-chopping, fatbodied Private Pyle in line of march directly behind your happy ass—loaded rifle in his poorly-trained dick-skinners, muzzle-sweeping you every step of the way, as you all trundle off to yet another war not worth fighting, at the behest of civilian “leadership” not worth defending.
