Ralph Peters slaps it, tells it to just shut the fuck up awready.

The video below moans about the substandard efforts of various car manufacturers to harass people sufficiently to wear seat belts. Note that I did not say their seatbelts. Which I did not say for the same reason I have never said anyone ought to wear their “masks.”

This is not pedantic. It is vitally important.

The use of “their” is very deliberate. It is meant to convey – and to assert – a kind of needful symbiosis. That a seat belt – or a “mask” is almost a part of us and heaven forbid the intimation of disassociation. What is wanted – and intended – is for the person being addressed to immediately feel obligation. And shame, for not wearing “their” seatbelt or “mask.”

But it is just a “mask” – or a seatbelt. An object, nothing more. Unless, of course, you do claim it as yours – in which case, that’s up to you. But the very last thing those who use their – or your – want is for you to make up your own mind and exercise choice, yourself.

Anyhow, it ought to be agreed that everyone has heard – a lot – about wearing seatbelts, asserted to be theirs. Much of it from their cars, which in many cases will not stop reminding – another obnoxiously, insufferably passive-friendly abuse of language – to wear their seatbelt even when it is ridiculously apparent they have purposely decided not to. Anyone willing to endure the repetitive chiming/dinging – often a loud and jarring chiming/dining – for the sake of not wearing the damned things clearly doesn’t need a reminder.

He knows perfectly well that he’s not wearing it – and doesn’t want to.

Civility would leave it at that. Would, in fact, have let it go well before that. But safetyism is relentless. The chiming/dinging must continue for longer, louder. Perhaps forever – or at least for long enough that the victim of this harassment cannot stand it any longer and gives in, by bucking “his” seatbelt.

Also the passengers. All of them. Shotgun, of course – but now also those in back. Safetyism has decreed chiming/dinging for everyone in the vehicle. So even the backseats are no longer safe harbor. The driver is put in the same position the government puts the store owner, who is forced to act as tax collector for the government. Just so, the driver of the cars coming off the line will be forced to become the government’s nag, pestering the people riding in back to wear their seatbelts – in order to save his nerves from the unendurable racket of all that chiming/dinging.

Treating normal, healthy, perfectly competent and capable American adults as if we were empty-eyed, mentally challenged diaper draggers who won’t survive a few more minutes without the protective cocoon of a constant, government-provided overwatch and micro-micro-micro-management of our every smallest twitch or blink is how the Nanny State creates the perception of itself as indispensable, serendipitously seducing the more weak-willed and biddable but nonetheless reasonably intelligent among us into thinking warm, cozy thoughts of how much gosh-darned easier life would be if only our good friends in government would just help us out a little throughout the course of each day! Why, there oughta be a LAW!!

Next thing you know, the very idea of choosing not to “buckle up for safety” the instant you climb in the car, each and every damned time you do, and keeping yourself strapped into place—even if the car is stationary and the transmission is in Park, the parking brake engage, no less—now strikes all too many otherwise normal, otherwise sane people as OUTRAGEOUS! IRRATIONAL! IRRESPONSIBLE! INTOLERABLE! A reflex action so natural they’re no longer even aware of it, so deeply has the conditioning been drilled into their brains, the reckless, selfish misdeed now an actual, honest-to-God crime which is punishable here in NC by a fine totalling over two hudred bucks, all told (as of a few years ago, NC dot Gov now charges transactions made with the State—drivers license, registration and plate, title transfer, and yes, vehicle-related citations and fines. As if the original fees for all those things weren’t ALREADY a de facto tax themselves, Gawdammit!

This new policy, mind, enacted at the same exact time that they also decided to double or even triple all fees on those same “services” they’d started adding tax on.

Assholes.

But even that ain’t the end of this thing, our final stop on the Safety First! Express. Peters knows as well as you or I where the smothercating embrace of Safetyism ends—it doesn’t.

Soon, it will be more. Heck, it already is. But it will be more than we can imagine. There will never be an end to it.

Safetyism pushes itself beyond all previously acknowledged boundaries of civility that – once upon a time – formed a kind of perimeter around the person (and property) of the individual, past which government was not allowed. Better said, beyond which government had no rightful authority.

Today, after 50-plus years of safetyism, there is no boundary beyond the reach of this inhuman doctrine, which forms the basis of what has become an inhuman society, in which no one is free to be let alone, ever – because it might not be “safe.”

And to think, it all began with a seatbelt, all those years ago.

Actually, no, not exactly. It began well before the coordinated nationwide push for seatbelt mandates began, with state laws requiring motorcycle riders to don uncomfortable, unsafe, slapdashedly made, vision-restricting, neck-torquing “safety” helmets sweeping the land back in the ’60s. The seatbelt push, spotty and obscure enough not to notice, really took flight in the late ’70s/early ’80s, originally sparked by FederalGovCo’s arbitrary decree that all US automakers must install airbags by some date certain or other, which I have long since forgotten. The automakers studied the problem and realized that putting those airbags in—a new, quite expensive technology at the time, something of an untried and unknown commodity which American motorists didn’t want or need, a product whose add-on cost every trustworthy industry survey and/or poll flatly said an overwhelming majority of America’s car buyers just flat weren’t willing to pay—would jack up the sticker price of every new American car by between five and six thousand bucks per…this, at a time when the price for a new car wasn’t a whole helluva lot more than the price of the airbag install, something your average Joe Everyman was smart enough to notice and object to vehemently, and 2) new-care sales numbers were way down, thanks to several factors:

Detroit had been caught flat-footed by a huge influx of Jap crap on these shores, a bruising, unforeseen competition caused mainly by the Saudi-contrived fuel “crisis” just a few years prior
Adding fiscal insult to crippling injury, the Jap crappers weren’t subject to the seatbelt mandate at that time, tying another hand behind Detroit’s back when it was already punch-drunk and reeling from its Asian competitor’s fierce onslaught
For another thing: Nobody was much interested in purchasing an American car back then anyway; despite my Jap-crap ribbing earlier, the fact is that those Hondas, Toyotas, and Datsuns of the era were solid, long-lived, dependable cars, if also smaller, lighter, and susceptible to much greater damage in a crash. The Japanese makes all boasted superior build quality, along with quiet, smooth-running engines that ingested their ever-more-expensive and -harder to find go-juice in polite, dainty sips, an unattractive contrast with the mighty, manly V8s Detroit was still cranking out in number at the time. As enjoyable as they were to drive, those engines swilled fuel like a union longshoreman who just clocked out and will be cashing whatever pitiful pittance he has left of his paycheck at whatever dingy dockside bar is closest to the shipper’s warehouse where he works after tonight’s boozy, bare-knuckles blowout chugs his brown likker.
American cars, in even more unflattering contrast with their fleet-footed, wily, and capable Southeast Asian competitors, had declined steeply from the dizzying peak of their ’50s-’60s Golden Age. American cars of the ’70s, frankly, were absolute junk. Expensive to run; shoddy construction; obsolete design and moldy-oldie engineering; overly heavy (hey, we NEEDED those powerful V8s, just to get those damned pigs on down the road at a reasonable pace); sloppy handling and mushy suspension that left you rocking, rolling, and wallowing through the curves instead of aggressively slicing your way in and out of ’em. These are but a small sampling of the gripes people had about the Blue Ovals, Bowties, Byuricks, and P.O.N.T.I.A.C.s (Poor Old Nigger Thinks It’s A Cadillac—heh) of the ’70s. The electrics were primitive and tetchy, the carburetors persnickety and weird, the steering loose as a goose. The cars had become untrustworthy at BEST.

Plus, a disturbing number of the American models were just plain ugly.I mean, who was it whose dubious auto-design creative gifts brought us vinyl roofs, for fuck’s sake? Worse, the Landau roof—utterly pointless; looking like it was conceptualized on one of the worst, most excruciating Hangover Sundays of all time; haphazardly designed; prone to rust underneath the fabric quickly and completely; a meaningless embellishment with absolutely no function or purpose whatsoever beyond doing a piss-poor job of trying to look like something it can never be.
Or how about those massive, waddling grocery-getter station wagons? Y’know, the ones with the cheap, fake-wood paneling in a sloppy, half-assed parody aping the classic Woody wagons from the late ’20s (!!) up into the mid-’50s?
The sudden, explosive expansion of the market for compact, well-built fuel misers mostly unconcerned with traditional American-style must-haves like bucketloads of rubber-shredding horsepower, plush interiors, lots of chrome, and come-hither good looks came as a total shock to the poor American manufacturers, and their sleepy response to the astonishing success of the invaders very nearly killed the American auto industry completely. After all, the market for the kind of car on offer from the Land of the Rising Sun didn’t even exist here until the 70s; before then, you could’ve called it a “niche” market, maybe, if you were the generous type and weren’t above stretching the truth almost to its breaking point. So, that being the case, you can’t fault Detroit entirely for the near-fatal debacle.
On the other hand, Detroit had certainly helped its own downfall along, getting all fat and lazy, lapsing its quality standards so severely that their existence became merely theoretical; certainly, they weren’t being applied, not by anybody. The unions demanded, and got, salaries so extravagant and out of proportion to the job requirements that they ended up reducing the world’s most stable, successful, and market-dominating industries into a tottering, feeble, confused wreck—aimless, incompetent, wholly unable to even identify where the American Dream they had embodied and enabled for so long had gone so terribly wrong, much less how they might make things right again. The collapse and near-death of the American auto industry was so catastrophic, so far-reaching, that it brought the once-proud city of Detroit—once one of the most prosperous, well-run, beautiful, and admired cities in all the world—down with it. Today, the industry has for the most part recovered, albeit not completely; American car makers will never again stand in unchallenged domination at the very pinnacle of the industry as they once so confidently did. The city, on the other hand, suffers under kleptomaniacal, corrupt, and self-serving leaders, black Democrats whose entire focus is on thieving and grafting their way into great wealth, have only worsened the plight of their city and its barbaric citizens. Its middle and upper-middle class population long ago fled the decaying and increasingly unlivable urban shithole en masse for greener, safer, more civilized climes, leaving crumbling ghettos full of feral and uncivilized Negro savages—layabouts, gangbangers, and irredeemable dope fiends left to their self-created squalor and anarchy to gnaw the last rotting bones of once-great Detroit.

But I digress. Anyhoo, the car makers worked out a deal with the goobermint’s crew of shakedown artists and strongarm men: government holds off for a decade or so on those airbags they want so much, provided Detroit could persuade a specified number of states to legislate mandatory seatbelt use as a first step, allowing hard-beset car makers a little breathing space, which they can use to tool up for the blasted bags. Thus, the deal was done. Now as it happens, NC was one of the first testbeds of the Constitutionality of this new, heretofore unthinkable regulatory overreach. Auto company attorneys carefully shepherded the case all the way up to the Supreme Court, where it was speedily approved without much fanfare or controversy. Whereupon everybody just clammed up. The media coverage of the heretofore sharply controversial issue stopped, the op-ed pages went dark and quiet. Nobody seemed to feel like discussing things further. After a period of mysterious silence, everybody moved on to the next big thing.

So the desired useful precedent had been set; the unthinkable had now become Law, landing a knockout blow against freedom, privacy, and self-determinatio—a vicious punch attenuated somewhat by assurances from the self-same snake oil salesmen who drafted it, promoted it, and got it into lawbooks that the thing had been conceived with an ironclad guarantee that violations would only ever be a secondary offense, meaning the cops couldn’t pull you over for a seatbelt infraction alone. They could only write you up for the seatbelt offense after having stopped you for a primary offense. Also, the seatbelt requirement would apply to drivers only, not passengers. It would carry a measly ten dollar fine, assigning no bank-account-draining license points for a violation. Pretty innocuous, right? Such a minor, trifling, harmless thing. Nothing worth getting one’s panties in a wad over. Nothing that should cause concern for those who take the Constitution and their rights seriously. Right?

My, ain’t it funny how things change. In the beginning, almost everybody pretty much ignored the new legislation, motorists and cops alike basically just carrying on as before. Then the insurance companies started to squawk, the hectoring TV commercials, explaining the vitally critically vital importance of wearing your safety harness so’s you won’t die began to run. Then, all of sudden, seatbelt tickets started to be handed out, to the stunned disbelief of the motorists who were issued them. Some overly zealous Joe Friday dreamed up the Click It Or Ticket weekend, three days on which entire police departments would gallumph on out in search of thougtless perps, a clear and present danger to the lives of everyone in the same zip code they presently occupy, hoping to jerk a knot in their asses. The inevitable mission creep emblematic of all government endeavors slowly but steadily advanced, until now every motorvatin’ scofflaw stands a chance of earning himself a hefty 200-dollar reminder that he better by God get with the program, or else. And, just as with every other for-your-own-good government encroachment on the presumed rights of its subjects, the inattentive, too-trusting frog has been thoroughly boiled.

Americans are coping with the highest gas prices ever recorded, compounded by inflation, with the national average reaching $4.33 per gallon earlier this month, according to an AAA tracker. On Thursday, a Federal Reserve analysis recorded inflation at a four-decade high, which followed a survey from Salary Finance out Wednesday reporting 1 in 5 Americans are running out of cash between paychecks.

After 14 months actively suppressing oil and gas production in the name of climate change, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine hampered the Oval Office’s diplomatic menu as the United States enthusiastically forfeited its energy independence. In the run-up to its full-scale invasion, Russia supplied more than 10 percent of the world’s crude but is now throttled by western sanctions against the primary source of revenue for the Kremlin’s war machine. Following the United States’s stint as an energy-independent net exporter of oil under President Donald Trump in 2018, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecast the United States will revert to its role as a net importer this year under Biden.

Repeated use of U.S. reserves without a plan to permanently increase U.S. oil and gas production was described by Montana Republican Sen. Steve Daines as a “band-aid on [a] bullet wound.” It showcases an administration dedicated to pulling every lever possible to avoid allowing American producers to ramp up production to meet the nation’s energy needs. According to the EIA, Americans consumed an average of nearly 20 million barrels of oil a day, putting the White House release of 1 million barrels per day into perspective.

Instead of opening American energy projects the administration has shut down such as drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and permits for the Keystone XL Pipeline, Biden has continued to harass the oil and gas industry, and suppress production in the process. Just this week, Bloomberg reported the Biden administration is planning to delay oil leases in the Gulf of Mexico for a third consecutive year, signaling to the industry that the White House has no plans to endorse long-term production to reclaim energy independence.

No, of course not. Why, that would be just AWFUL, a horrible mis-ordering of government priorities. Everyone knows that you just don’t go around promising to “reclaim(ing) energy independence” until the job of bringing a once-mighty nation to its knees, destroying its economy, and breaking its people to your will via impoverishing them and denying their freedom of movement has been completed. Then and only then, once their desperation and misery has reduced them to abject pleas for government to step in and “help,” can you resume your forked-tongue eructations promising “energy independence” for one and all again.

These screeching cuntzillas need to get the word “decent” out of their mouths.

Even as Justice Clarence Thomas was hospitalized, a leftist lynch mob rallied on social media calling for his impeachment or death. They weren’t especially picky about which one it would be.

The same radical faction championing Biden’s selection of a black woman for the Supreme Court as a groundbreaking step forward and berating Republicans for refusing to support her were simultaneously demanding that the only sitting black justice on the court step down.

The calls for Thomas’ death are based on pure unadulterated hatred. And so are the calls for his impeachment. None of them have even the faintest basis in anything resembling the law.

The Women’s March called for the impeachment of Justice Thomas because his wife, Ginni, had advocated against election fraud. Or as the racist leftist hate group put it, “The revelations that Ginni Thomas advocated for the overthrow of our democracy are disqualifying — not just for her as a human being of any decency, but for her husband.”

A “human being of any decency” wouldn’t be going after a judge by targeting his wife.

Of course not. Really, though, can there be any sane person left among us who expects decency from Leftist swine? There’s something entirely obscene about such as they even uttering the word at all. What we have here, though, is nothing whatever to do with “decency”; it is consummate opportunism, the alpha and omega of the concept.

One good aspect here, though: the slavering shitlibs just provided us with another real-world demonstration of why and how they win, one Team Liberty needs to learn from and even emulate if it seriously hopes to succeed. Leftwits never, ever let a possible chance to club their opposition over the head and advance the agenda pass them by. No, they throw it ALL up against the wall, anything and everything they can get their scabrous talons on. And why the hell not? Sadly, now and then something or other of it will stick, and they get to carve still another “W” into their sloping foreheads.

FEC Fines Clinton, Dems for Debunked Dossier
The Federal Election Commission fined the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton campaign more than $100,000 for secretly funding opposition research that falsely accused Donald Trump of colluding with Russia.

The commission fined the treasurers of the DNC and Clinton campaign for “misreporting the purpose of certain disbursements” related to the infamous Steele dossier, according to a ruling released on Wednesday. The DNC and Clinton campaign paid more than $1 million in 2016 to fund the dossier project, but labeled the payments as legal expenses. The commission fined the DNC and Clinton campaign $105,000 and $8,000, respectively.

Disgusting, infuriating, absolutely disgraceful. No wonder We The People’s trust and faith in the fundamental integrity of their federal government is draining away faster with every passing day, like dirty dishwater schlurrrping down a brand-new sink drain. How very sad it is to have to admit that—with each fresh outrage against decency, each successive breach of the explicitly-defined boundaries of its Constitutional remit—only an abject imbecile would swallow a single word these audacious vermin vomit forth.

Spells nothing whatsoever hopeful regarding the admittedly way-slim likelihood of seeing Hunter Biden doing the Leg Iron Shuffle, either. Takes the air right out of this, too.

SO, then. A lousy hundred grand pried from a rich bitch’s purse, a piffling sum she’ll never even notice is missing, exacted in “punishment” for a manifestly unlawful and consequential offense which William Barr correctly described this way:

“My own view is that the evidence shows that we’re not dealing with just the mistakes or sloppiness,” Barr told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham. “There was something far more troubling here. We’re going to get to the bottom of it. And if people broke the law and we can establish that with the evidence, they will be prosecuted.”

“What happened to him was one of the greatest travesties in American history—without any basis, they started this investigation of his campaign,” Barr said.

“And even more concerning, actually, is what happened after the campaign. A whole pattern of events while he was president to sabotage the presidency or at least have the effect of sabotaging the presidency.”

What it was, in truth, was a fucking attempted coup—a for-real case of no-nonsense, full-bore sedition,; raw treason in broad daylight, brazen and unembarrassed, before which the J6 “rioters” can but respectfully bow their heads in awe. Hillary Clinton and her cabal, in collusion with co-conspirators at the highest levels of the US government itself, did in fact plot with foreign nationals to topple a duly-elected and sworn President, nullifying the votes of millions of Americans. It’s an all the more heinous crime because it strikes at the very heart of everything America is supposed to represent, undermining if not outright obliterating the very concept of American self-government for all time. Political crimes just don’t come any more serious than that.

Yet still the witless Swamp creatures persist, studiously hacking away at their own credibility, as if the complete loss of the consent of the governed couldn’t ever have any impact on them. Thou fools. Thou purblind, arrogant fools, to imagine that the time can never come when the American people you’ve wronged over and again will rise up to avenge the long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object you inflicted on them.

Yeah, tell me again all about how important it is that we scrupulously maintain a firm faith in the basic integrity, honesty, and moral probity of the US federal government, whydon’tcha. That one’s my favorite.

Two Years After Lockdowns, The West’s Troubles Aren’t Ending — They’re Just Beginning
Two years ago this week, the United States shut down. Churches, schools and businesses went dark. Weddings, funerals, and birthdays went silent. City streets stood empty, with an eeriness closer resembling occupied Paris than the bustling hubs they’d been just days before.

Two years later, as the last of the mask mandates for school children falter and crack, it’s tempting to believe our nightmare is finally over. Just as the disease is going to haunt us a long while, however, so too will the effects of how we tried to fight it.

Americans’ relationships with our politicians, bureaucrats, schools, media, police, and churches are fundamentally altered. Indeed, the entire West’s relationships with these major segments of society are forever remade. As we look out on the wreckage of two years of Covid policies, as well as our spiking fuel prices, rocketing inflation, a contested election, a Chinese Olympics, and a land war in Europe, it’s increasingly clear that, far from standing at the end of a dark era, our civilization teeters unsteadily at the very beginning of one.

It’s hard to notice at first. The modern West has become so accustomed to a slow, steady decline — the kind Merle Haggard sang about, and Ronald Reagan ran against — that complaining about it has become cliché; like the angry old man waving his cane.

More than that, it’s very tempting to view the past two years as separate from our other major problems. But just as Black Tuesday began an era marked by the Depression, the Dust Bowl, the New Deal, the Second World War, and a fundamental reshaping of the American life, so too will the Lockdowns mark the start of a ride we can’t get off.

Even in states that have long since shrugged off the bureaucrats’ Covid demands, trust is broken. The people had believed in March 2020 that if they did their parts, all would soon be well. As President Calvin Coolidge famously said, “The chief ideal of the American people is idealism…[and] the chief business of the American people is business.”

Neither Americans’ idealism nor our industry were rewarded, however. From March 2020 on, ours was rule not by people, but by bureaucratic diktat.

Our politicians betrayed us: flying abroad, getting haircuts, going maskless, holding parties, and dining out while also closing schools, forbidding gatherings, banning amenities, and demonizing all who resisted — or even questioned — their orders.

Our corporate media betrayed us: propping up liars and fools, tearing down all who spoke against their champions, and spreading fear and hatred of dissent as far and wide as their words would carry.

Our teachers betrayed us: using Covid to gain a grab bag of vacation time, control over parents, wage hikes, and other unrelated perks, all while punishing school children with years of masks, separation — and the educational and developmental retardation those rules cost.

Even our much-vaunted hospital workers betrayed us: keeping dying husbands from their dying wives, grown children from their elderly parents, brothers from their sisters, and babies from their mothers — all to ensure “Covid safety.”

As hard as it seems, much of this might be good. Not that our politicians, media, teachers, and health care are broken — as the most important essay of 2021 laid bare — but that Americans now recognize just how broken they all are.

A most excellent essay, one I can’t recommend to you CF scapegraces highly enough. I don’t really have anything to add myself in the way of commentary; Bedford pretty much said it all, and said it quite damned well, too. Most of it we’ve already covered here anyway, enough so that I’m starting to feel like Chris’s “angry old man waving his cane.” Although I admit that could also possibly be due to my being…well, an angry old man. No cane at the moment—although with the fake leg coming along in the next several days (or so I’ve been told), I’m going to have to get myself one soon.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said on Tuesday that the Walt Disney Company “crossed the line” when it announced its intention to repeal the Parental Rights in Education bill, which DeSantis signed into law on Monday.

During a press conference in Tallahassee on Tuesday, DeSantis told reporters, “For Disney to come out and put a statement and say that the bill should have never passed and that they are going to actively work to repeal it, I think one was fundamentally dishonest, but two, I think that crossed the line.”

He added: “this state is governed by the interests of the people of the state of Florida. It is not based on the demands of California corporate executives. They do not run this state. They do not control this state.”

To no one’s surprise, there’s much, much more of this wonderful stuff. For instink:

Just one day after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law the Parental Rights in Education bill, the Republican is now suing the federal government for its never-ending mask mandate for public transportation and airlines.

More than two years since Covid-19 reached our shores, the Biden administration is still ordering that Americans wear face coverings on planes and to commute. After the Trump administration opted not to require masks on public transport, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an order in late January 2021, which prompted one from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in February 2021 shortly after Biden’s inauguration. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody says these federal agencies “never had the power to issue” these mandates.

TSA’s rule was supposed to expire in May of last year but was instead extended to September, then January of 2022, then March, and now April. DeSantis and a horde of other states are trying to change that by arguing that the federal mask mandate goes beyond the CDC’s authority and violates state laws that ban forced masking.

“It’s not something that’s grounded in any science,” DeSantis said during the press conference, showing that just like you don’t have to be a biologist to know what a woman is, you don’t have to be a virologist to understand basic sense. “If you have somebody sitting in the window seat and they’re nibbling on peanuts for two and a half hours, they can have their mask down. You have the person in the middle seat that is not eating, and if they just want to read a magazine without their mask, then somehow that would be a big problem.”

“Florida has led the nation in standing up to misguided federal government policies and fighting back against heavy-handed mandates that have no scientific backing,” DeSantis said. “If politicians and celebrities can attend the Super Bowl unmasked, every U.S. citizen should have the right to fly unmasked. It is well past time to get rid of this unnecessary mandate and get back to normal life.”

Teachers Who Insist They’re Not Teaching Your Kid About Sex Also Weirdly Outraged By Ban On Teaching Your Kid About Sex
ORLANDO, FL—On July 1st, teachers throughout Florida will no longer be permitted to encourage discussions about sex with children in grades kindergarten through grade 3. Florida teachers have been adamant that they’ve never encouraged such discussions in their classrooms but they are weirdly outraged that they will no longer be able to.

“I have never once told a boy they are really a girl, or a girl they are really nothing, or a man that they should be comfortable loving children. Not once. BUT IT’S OUTRAGEOUS THAT I CAN’T,” said Ms. Feilershiek, a kindergarten teacher at Chickasaw Elementary, while picketing in front of her school instead of teaching children.

One third-grade teacher, Mx. Pat Frumouge (ze/zir), had begun teaching zeir students about LGBTQ culture full-time ahead of the July 1st deadline.

“Look, I don’t groom any kids. But I have to constantly explain why I look like a porcelain fish-being,” ze said, visibly shaken. “This law is going to erase me as an individual. My sexual identity and favorite kinks are my entire identity…if I can’t share that with children—which I don’t—then I don’t know what I’m going to do. Teach math?”

Children at Chickasaw Elementary School are reportedly failing at math and science but excelling at peer-pressuring other children to switch genders at will. Teachers insist the kids are doing that on their own, however.

According to sources, teachers are preparing for the next year by abandoning all subjects entirely in favor of full-time LGBTQ lectures to make up for the fact they won’t be able to indoctrinate children next year—even though they don’t do that.

And again, we have to ask ourselves: is it satire, or is it for real? It just gets harder and harder to tell. Pity the folks at the Bee; they have the toughest jobs in the world. Trying to find a way to effectively exaggerate the Left’s positions and statements—already so extreme they observably warp and distort actual physical reality—for purposes of satire must exhaust a body to the very edge of total collapse. Meanwhile, another whackadoo shitlib demonstrates why the loony Left can never really be defeated.

The word “gay” is not in the bill. The bill actually protects children in pre-K through third grade from being assaulted with discuccion of sex and gender issues that they are not ready to handle. For some reason, people on the left are having meltdowns because they can’t talk about their personal sex lives with little children and, in a bizarre trend, they’re making videos about it…

Libs of Tik Tok on Twitter is at the forefront of exposing all the teachers who are carrying on like stuck pigs because they can’t indoctrinate children anymore (at least in Florida). Not only did the bill outlaw discussions of sex and gender with students from pre-K to third grade, but it also outlawed hiding information from K-12 parents about their children’s gender identity or any other information that would be important for them to know. There is a disturbing trend of public schools actively keeping secrets from parents that has led to suicide attempts and harm to children. In Florida, that’s no longer allowed.

But at least one teacher, Amber Mercier who works at The Academy, says she’ll keep lying to parents about their kids, and she’s willing to lose her job over it.

Mercier is gay, and she believes keeping secrets about sexuality from her students’ families — if the student wants her to — is worth losing her job over. “I just want to go ahead and state that I would rather lose my job than out one of my students to their families. Being a safe person and a safe place for kids who don’t have that at home is one of the best parts of being a teacher, so, yeah, I’m not doing it. Fire me, sue me, take me to jail — I’m not doing it.”

Okey doke, fine by me then.

As if the previous nutjob and her oath to lose her job weren’t radical enough, though, there’s also this clearly sane, perfectly normal adult.

The keys to compliance

Superstate arm-twisting is the mother of invention.

The Hemi V8 engine may be history – or will soon be that, tragically – but Dodge hasn’t given up on engines just yet.

A new engine – rather than another electric motor – is coming, soon. It’s not a V8 – because V8 engines are too big, all the time, to “qualify” for legality under the anti-engine regulatory regime of the Biden Thing. Which recently “mandated” that all engines must soon approach the 50 MPG mark – else be heavily fined. As well as “comply” with “emissions” regulations that “mandate” essentially zero emissions – at the tailpipe – of the dread gas carbon dioxide. The one that amounts to less than .01 percent of the gasses that compose the Earth’s atmosphere. We are supposed to believe that a fraction of that fraction – “emitted” by gas-burning engines – constitutes an existential threat to the “climate.”

Kind of like the “virus” that was so threatening it didn’t kill 99.8 percent of the population.

The replacement for the Hemi series of V8 engines – in 5.7, 6.2 and 6.4 liter displacements – will be an in-line six of about half that displacement, heavily turbo-boosted to make up for it.

It is the “Hurricane” 3.0 liter engine, which is an entirely different kind of engine. The Hemis were pushrod-actuated, overhead valve engines with just one camshaft operating the works. This simple – and compact – layout, with fewer parts – defines the modern V8 engine, which has been around since the mid-1950s and for good reason.

The design works.

Indeed it does; the gasoline-powered internal combustion engine has been said to be the most successful invention in all of history. Which is what they hate most about it. The ICE has for years stood for freedom, independence, and readily-available mobility for the American hoi polloi. It liberated entire populations, quite literally. No wonder the shitlibs hate it so fanatically. Now, about this new thang.

Is anyone being forced to buy these (V8—M) “hogs”? Are there not less “hoggy” alternatives available for those who want such? If Dodge can sell its “hogs,” does it not imply that people want them? If so what gives the busybodies the right to thwart the transaction?

Since these questions haven’t been raised, the answer is this new in-line six, which does have multiple overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. Plus two turbochargers.

These are the keys not just to horsepower but compliance.

The cams and valves increase airflow. The turbos increase effective displacement. A V8 inhales a certain amount of air; a turbocharged engine is force-fed air. Negative vs. positive pressure. But – in the case of the latter – only when under boost. When not, the engine inhales less air – and burns (and emits) less gas.

And that is the key to compliance, at least on paper. Which is all that matters in these latter days, when car companies are obliged to build cars for the government first and customers second.

Just another aspect of life in this demented nation that the Left has turned upside-down and inside-out. They’re “experts,” see, and so very much better than mere serf-class oafs like you and me. Hats off to Dodge for finding the workaround, I suppose. But as we used to say in the H-D shop: There ain’t no replacement for cubic-inch displacement.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Says Nothing Will Deter Biden Administration from Eliminating Fossil Fuels
s more people become aware of the Build Back Better agenda, or as some would say “The Great Reset,” and its direct connection to the dreams and aspirations of the climate change ideologues in the elitist class, it is worth paying attention when Yellen says nothing will deter the Biden administration from eliminating fossil fuels; and it is her role to make that objective financially possible.

Yellen emphasizes the Biden administration position about how the conflict in Ukraine and the sanctions against Russia are an example of why the global energy resources need to fundamentally change to renewable resources. Her strength of advocacy, in alignment with the Davos/WEF position, is yet another data-point to highlight the predictable cleaving of the world economies into two distinctly differing groups of nations.

It doesn’t matter how economically painful it is to chase these energy policies, the elitists who operate western government are all-in on the same program. The same western governments who used totalitarian emergency powers to destroy liberty and freedom under the guise of COVID-19 mitigation, are the same western governments now aligned to use the crisis in Ukraine to advance their energy ideology.

They’re almost there, actually, with sky-high gas prices inflicting slow-motion financial ruin on working-class American families—very soon now, on tens of millions of Americans. If our tormentors are not stopped, we’ll soon see entire industries wiped out by the Biden catastrophe. Next body-blow coming at us is a nascent food crisis: severe shortages; exorbitant prices for the little food available; irrepairable supply-chain snags and snarl-ups which will make things much, much worse, all culminating in something never seen in the US before: widespread hunger, famine, malnutrition and even death by starvation.

Although it’s no longer possible to avert this runaway man-caused disaster, it may not be too late to prevent it from getting even worse than it’s going to be. That, however, is going to mean rounds sent downrange in the direction of the criminals who caused this, from great distances off, followed by a rapid exfil when today’s target has been successfully neutralized. It’s going to mean laying low so as to evade capture until it’s time to begin planning, intel-gathering, and gearing up for the next mission. It’s going to mean a solid support network in your AO, noncombatants willing and able to provide you and your team with materiel, provisions, intel, maybe a secure hide for emergency E&E purposes should the need arise. It’s going to mean adapting yourself to a totally new way of thinking, of moving, of how you relate to others—a new way of life, in fact.

When and where Liberty’s Legion decides to go active and begin servicing targets will be for them to decide. Those of us who aren’t capable of functioning effectively as shooters will need to stand ready to fill other roles, of which there will be no shortage: medical, logistics, loading mags, staff, making coffee, etc etc. Anything we can do, we must do—ALL of the liberty-minded, no exceptions. Our freedom, our Constitution, and our way of life will require every last Real American to step up and do his part if our precious heritage is to be reclaimed. There will never be enough of us; I think it’s abundantly clear by now that we’re outnumbered, and badly. Contra Rush Limbaugh’s oft-stated contention, this is NOT a “majority conservative” nation anymore. I don’t think it’s been one since the mid-1960s.

But our minority status doesn’t mean we have no hope of defeating them. The Yellens, the Obamas, the Pelosis, the Comeys and Soroses, the whole filthy vermins’ nest of them—they can NOT be allowed to prevail. We know their intentions for us, and we know their Grand Plan means only suffering, deprivation, and injustice for us. They must be resisted; they must be fought; they must be eliminated, if that’s what it takes to lift their iron-shod jackboots from off our necks for good. All their works, their towers and edifices, their strongholds—ALL must be cast down to the earth alongside those who built them. We can afford no flinching, no quarter, no mercy. Our hearts must be hardened, our eyes wide open, our hand swift, sure, and steel-strong. They have a dark, cruel future planned for us. We must destroy them utterly, lest that future become cold, hard reality for us. We can beat them, outnumbered or not. We just have to go the right way about it, the smart way. We have to be firm as a bar of billet steel in our resolve; we have to be patient, we have to use every advantage, every edge, every tool available to us.

So yeah, Janet, you just bring it on. You and yours go ahead and do your damnedest to “eliminate” fossil fuels. Old-school greasemonkeys like myself and untold millions like me might have a little surprise waiting for you, concerning who and what might wind up “eliminated.” You want to come confiscate MY ICE lead sled from me and force me into one of your gay-ass little Shamebuggies, you better bring help.

Real Americans desperately need to face up squarely to the harsh realities of our situation, which is indeed a desperate one. First and foremost among those realities: We cannot vote our way around these people. They will never give up or give in. Whatever we offer them in exchange for just leaving us alone, they will take the offer now, then come back for another bite later. We know from long, bitter years of experience, that no bargain or agreement with them is worth a fart in a whirlwind. Knowing this, we simply cannot fail to do our duty, both to ourselves and our future generations. I am deadly, deadly serious about what I’m saying, people. We play now for the highest imaginable stakes. This one’s for all the marbles—winner take all, no prizes for second place.

Be it hereby resolved: no more lethargy, no more dissembling, no more evasion. This is war we’ve been dragged kicking and screaming into—real war, not figurative or rhetorical or pretend. REAL war, the kind with lots of blood and death and horror and mutilation in it. Kill them all, then, God will surely know his own. Kill them, and keep on killing them, until the survivors have grown so sick of killing they just wrefuse to do any more of it. Or, in the wise words of the great Curtis LeMay: You’ve got to kill people, and when you’ve killed enough they stop fighting.

Push-button tyranny

A new form of power evolves.

What happens when a government is no longer required to do the very difficult, friction-filled work of finding people, writing tickets, arresting them, charging them, granting them due process, obtaining convictions, and jailing the guilty? When the government can bring a person’s practical participation in society to a standstill with the push of a button, it becomes silly to even talk about individual rights or due process. In the face of this new kind of push-button power, exercised at the whim of the governing party with zero legal oversight, individuals can simply be deleted from the system—even if, technically speaking, they are never charged with or convicted of a crime.

In the case of government action, this is bad enough—but at least in the case of elected officials, the people will still have their say, and the government will be held accountable for abuses of power in the next round of elections, as Trudeau may have feared when he revoked the government’s emergency powers at the end of February.

A deeper concern is what happens when private institutions like corporations, universities, and media exercise the same power without even the pretense of accountability. If the large financial institutions want to, they can act as gatekeepers to society and would be held accountable only by the market, to which they also hold the keys. Given that institutions are heavily dependent on each other, if the institutions that hold important positions in the global financial web decide to freeze someone out, they can do so with the push of a button. Worse yet, we can imagine a scenario in which a system of freeze-outs could be automated based on people’s credit scores, purchasing histories, political donation patterns, key words in social media postings, carbon footprints, or political activism. It’s not hard to imagine a situation in which a citizen of a democracy wakes up one day to find themselves unable to participate in the digital economy, where almost all financial transactions take place, due to an automated system which flags them as being undesirable in some way.

Corporations and government have always exercised tremendous power, of course. Government has a monopoly on the use of force, using the policing powers to enforce laws. Corporations have always exercised enormous power via market share, advertising, lobbying, and other financial instruments. But never before have they been able to lock ordinary citizens out of social participation with the flip of a switch.

This push-button tyranny is real, and it represents a greater abuse of power than any that has been exercised before within the boundaries of liberal democratic government. It is new, it is breathtaking, and it is very dangerous.

It’s also nothing less than terrifying—the kind of paralyzing, free-floating terror that keeps one up into the wee small hours of the night, all a-tremble. The whole thing makes decoupling from society look a lot less like a somewhat-drastic lifestyle choice, and more like an absolute imperative.

The clamorous eagerness of transnational corporations—as demonstrated during the Scamdemic, Big Tech especially—to assist FederalGovCo in the enslavement and oppression of We the People en masse was a harbinger most grim, looking back on it. This ugly collaboration is a well-established hallmark of economic fascism, which can’t come as any surprise to anybody here. It never should have been allowed to happen, although I can’t see how it might have been prevented right offhand. We’re stuck with it now, and nothing good will come of that.

Anger ain’t enough

Biden prattles inanely on “democracies at an inflection” point, ignoring the beam in his own eye. Sundance ain’t having any of it.

I know Emmanuel Macron, Boris Johnson, Jacinda Ardern, Scott Morrison, Justin Trudeau and Joe Biden himself, would like to think that we do not remember the past two years of complete unilateral dictatorship they enjoyed while hiding behind the shield of “emergency authorizations,” but this is one website that will continue to document – for the historical record – the brutal reality of these pontificating liars.

Do they really think we have forgotten how they never once asked the representative government for authorization before triggering their unilateral fiats? The economic lockdowns, the loss of liberty, the collapse of freedom, the shutting down of any form of petition for grievance, the use and weaponization of the regulatory system, the manipulation of courts, the unilateral mask and vaccination mandates, the demands for compliance to some of the most ridiculous rules and regulations, and yes, even the lies and double-standards they applied to the masses while they themselves ignored the rules they forced upon everyone else…Do they really thing we have forgotten this?

There’s a lot of white-hot anger amid the citizenry of those aforementioned nations, righteous anger – yet these government creatures of entitlement stand on a soapbox today and decry autocracy and/or oligarchs.

Seriously?

The sad, sorry fact is they don’t care whether we’ve forgotten or not. We laid down for them and let them have their way with us with very little resistance, a passivity that made them bold.

Few things raise the anger of people to a level where foul language is the better option than the physical violence that might surface without it, but this level of hypocrisy and pretense is surely one of them.

To all the leaders of various “western democracies” who will now clutch their pearls as the backlash from the brutalized citizens starts to come full circle, you did this to yourself.

No one is to blame other than Biden, Trudeau, Ardern, Morrison, Macron, Johnson et al and the leaders of NATO who now suddenly need the support of the citizens they abused in order to fend off their new enemy, Vladimir Putin.

Western government leaders intentionally and willfully positioned themselves as the enemy of freedom. They do not now get to grab back the torch of liberty and wield it as a talking point weapon against totalitarianism.

And yet…that is exactly what they’re doing. They’ll keep right on doing it, too, unless and until they get themselves badly burned by having a righteous, searing blast of that “white-hot anger” turned on ’em. Anger is a fine and useful thing; talk, likewise, is a fine and useful thing. But at some point, anger loses its power; talk curdles into mere bluster, more impediment than inspiration. The Enemy has been more than sufficiently apprised of our displeasure. His response has been to double down, to tighten the screws further still. Thus, we find the hour of decision upon us: Will we, or won’t we? A nation entire holds its collective breath, awaiting the fateful answer.

ormer President Donald Trump filed a bombshell lawsuit on Thursday, accusing 2016 Democrat Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the Democratic National Committee, Democrat law firm Perkins Coie, Fusion GPS, and dozens of other bad actors of working to destroy his presidency with the Russia collusion conspiracy theory.

“In the run-up to the 2016 Presidential Election, Hillary Clinton and her cohorts orchestrated an unthinkable plot – one that shocks the conscience and is an affront to this nation’s democracy,” the lawsuit states. “Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty.”

Other defendants in the case include former State Department official and spokesperson for Clinton, Philippe Reines, former FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, and former Clinton campaign advisor Jake Sullivan, who is currently Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor.

“President Trump is going on offense,” Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington told Just the News Thursday. “He’s naming names, and he’s going after these liars who tried to rig the 2016 election, and when they failed with the fake Russia collusion hoax, when they failed to stop President Trump from winning the presidency, they used it to spy on him, to try to derail his presidency and his administration.”

Harrington said that up until the 2020 election, the Russia collusion hoax was “the biggest political crime in our history.”

Boy oh boy, can’t wait until it finally makes its way into a courtroom, in about 2056 or thereabouts. The rest of the piece makes for entertaining reading, entertainment being about all the subject of it can ever hope to amount to in Amerika v2.0’s “swift and scrupulous” system of “justice.”

Wonder if Trump is fully cognizant of the unique position in US history he occupies: the victim of not one, but TWO, of the “biggest political crimes in our history,” he was. It’s a sort of left-handed badge of honor, to be persecuted and abused by such vile dung beetles as these “people.”

The long march through the institutions has been not only of the Left but also of women taking over key positions in the West’s governments, courts and public prosecutor’s offices, police and the military, media and entertainment, schools and universities – with long term results, I aver, that do not bode well for Western Civilization. The leap on the Left has been from the male-run orthodox Marxism to the female-driven, “compassionate” Cultural Marxism of “Social Justice.” Conservatives, as usual, just got played.

The American military has unveiled new pregnancy uniforms while the Chinese military has unveiled new exoskeleton uniforms that allow a soldier to carry more gear into combat. A few years ago, a composite photo composite below circulated on the Internet. It showed Europe’s five female Ministers of Defense versus the martial machos in charge of China’s and Russia’s militaries, the phalanx of bemedaled men-generals standing behind every successive ruler of North Korea or the ruling mullahs of Iran. And that picture of Yin-sickened West did not even include socialist Spain’s very pregnant Minister of Defense Carme Chacon in a billowing maternity dress, reviewing a lineup of erect soldiers.

Metrosexual Obama, stamped from the same mold that would soon disgorge Canada’s Justin Trudeau, delighted in placing the most unsuitable women in the most improbable and important positions. Consider “Team Obama”: Hillary Clinton, Samantha Power, Susan Rice, and Obama’s grey eminence Valerie Jarrett huddling at the UN General Assembly Hall. At least three of them were architects of the string of catastrophes that Obamerica’s support of the “Arab Spring” and betrayal of friendly tyrants Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, Bashar al-Assad in Syria, and Hosni Mubarak in Egypt proved to be for their country, for the world, for tens of thousands of Arab dead, and for millions of Arab refugees.

Consider Obama’s declaration of contempt for reality and for his country by making of Janet Napolitano the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security. Merkel-like, Napolitano was more concerned with “rightwing extremists” than with Muslim terrorists. However, she worked toward the female future by passing over qualified men to place women in key security and immigration enforcement roles, including ICE chief of staff, Suzanne Barr who created a working environment “targeted to humiliate and intimidate male employees.”(3) That proved such a smashing success that Nancy Faeser, a Socialist who supports Antifa, is now the head of the Federal Police and Homeland Security of Germany and obsessed, of course, with “rightwing extremism.”

In June, 2019 Theresa May ended her pitiful time as Britain’s Prime Minister, having applied in a typically upside-down manner the mailed fist to Britons protesting the multiculti destruction of their country but the powder puff to disdainful Angela Merkel and the blackmailing EU in Brexit negotiations. May knew only one way against Britain’s enemies: surrender. Before she was forced by enraged Britons to resign, she had agreed to pay the EU a ransom of 39 billion pounds for the privilege of ending the UK’s vassalage to the Spinellian behemoth in Brussels. Her way of dealing with Muslim terrorism was to wear the hijab as often as a photo-op availed and to avoid dealing with Muslim terrorism or even naming it as such. (5)

All too many dismaying examples follow, leading to a depressing denouement.

America’s and Europe’s top levels in politics and governance are filled with highly educated women who seemingly cannot think and have no idea what human reality is—though it’s as elementary as Newton’s laws of motion applied to human affairs. They are zealously fanatic in their quest to remake the world according to their impulses of estrogenic social justice. They are also aggressively totalitarian and respond to criticism with hysterical hyperbole.

The European Union’s and all of Western Europe’s rule by Cultural Marxist women and their properly tamed and trained male subordinates is virtually sewn up. Barring violent upheavals by man or nature, America’s is locked in similarly, though the Trump bump obscured it for a while. The consequences can be projected too.

Quite a bleak projection it is, too. Here’s the most crucial, telling bit:

(29) 50% of college and university faculty are female (30) and it’s much more than that in the chief brainwash disciplines like psychology, English literature, gender studies, feminist studies, and all other Critical Theory areas. 82.8% of Social Work PhD students are female (31). 71% of psychology PhDs are women (32). It’s 61.3% in Social and Behavioral “Sciences” in general, 67.8% in Education, and 76.2% – God help us – in Public Administration. (32) To understand what a Doctor of Public Administration is let’s visit the web page of one such program, at Walden University: “Drive positive social change with a top-level degree,” “Learn to better serve diverse populations” (33) – you see where this is going.

America’s teachers’ unions: National Education Teachers’ Association (NEA) and American Federation of Teachers (AFT), filled with women, are perhaps the most powerful far-Left political force in the country; their members are directly responsible for training the last two generations of woke Zombies who are destroying the United States.

These are the places where our battle will be won or lost. I’ve been pounding my shoe on the tabletop and yelling about this very thing for many years now. Something else I’ve ruefully maintained along with it: Antonio Gramsci was a fucking GENIUS. If you don’t know who he is, educate thyself, young ‘un. There’s simply no way to fully understand Amerika v2.0 unless you understand himfirst.

Schlichter runs down the problems that afflict us, not one punch pulled.

There’s this thing called multitasking and we GOP voters expect the Republicans to try it out. Democrats? Nah, because we expect nothing from Democrats. But the Dems are good at multi-tasking. Even as they pretend to be butch about Ukraine – such fakery is rivaled only by the bride’s performance on a Bulwark staffer’s wedding night – they simultaneously embrace such initiatives as schoolhouse kiddie grooming and women’s sports champions who are dudes. They can focus on more than just Ukraine. Of course, we actually expect nothing from Republicans either, but at least with them we normals have a chance to influence their behavior, even if only by threatening them with a primary by someone based who will drag them back to America from their DC estates and make them campaign amongst the unwashed.

There are a lot of miserable things going on here at home in addition to the Disney-approved kindergarten perversion propaganda and girl athletes who are boys crises. We have an elite treating the idea of free speech like Bill Clinton treated his wedding vows, gas prices higher than Cheech & Chong hanging at Seth Rogan’s place, and a border that is open wider than Ana Navarro’s pie-hole at Golden Corral’s Endless Fountain of Ham. We have a potential Supreme Court justice who thinks kiddie porn pervs should get a slap on the wrist and an election system that is a slap in the face to democracy. Burger is $7 a pound and Jussie Smollett is free – and don’t be surprised if his double jeopardy argument works on appeal!

Yeah, there are a lot of bad things going on here in the US of A thanks to that desiccated old pervert in the White House, but we’re not hearing enough about them from Republican poobahs. We are hearing a lot about Ukraine though. It’s an important issue, but we’re approaching a month of war and the tough Ukes have not given in yet. The nimrods pulling Biden’s puppet strings are still slow-walking the delivery of anti-tank missiles, which is bad. Reports say that they are refusing to give over real-time intel to the Ukrainians, lest the plucky defenders use it to target Russian units, which would seem to be the point. The MiG thing is still a thing, though it’s kind of useless in the sense that a couple of dozen Bad News Bears jets from the 80s are essentially irrelevant. So yeah, there’s stuff to be upset about regarding Ukraine. Biden’s as good a commander-in-chief as he is a father, and we need to be all over him so our military doesn’t continue to figuratively impregnate strippers even as our State Department, more or less figuratively, does blow off a foreign hooker’s fourth point of contact.

But Ukraine’s not the only thing going on. Republicans, you need to talk about other things, like the things I listed above. Not all the time, but a lot of the time. Because, here’s the thing. Our voters generally like the Ukrainians and admire such things as their toughness, patriotism, and their innovative program of handing assault rifles out to citizens. But we are getting beaten to a pulp here at home. Every Third Worlder with a bindle and a dream is hiking to the border. Hobos litter our streets with used hobo dinners. Criminals run rampant, and it just cost me 100 bucks to fill up my sedan. Look, we care about Ukraine in the sense that we wish bad things were not happening on the other side of the globe, and many of us are willing to kick in the bucks to buy some rockets to pop the top on a battalion of uninvited T-80s. But Republican congress-creatures, we’re hurting, and we keep seeing many of the biggest names in DC on TV talking about sending our kids to fight the Ukrainian’s war by prattling on about “no-fly” zones as if that is somehow merely putting Putin in time-out and not the first shot in a hot war with a crazy/stupid/evil guy with more hot rocks than Kamala has shady ex-boyfriends.

Schlichter is a skilled enough writer to wring some laughter from a buttload of painful, depressing topics. But in the end, he’s got it right: a country as fucked up and out of order as this one has become should leave off all meddling in the affairs of other nations straightaway, to concentrate exclusively on getting its own shit straightened out. Every American, be he elected official, bureau-rat, or ordinary citizen needs to admit to himself that this country is not in any condition to carry on acting as World Policeman. Actually, standing astride the Earth like some God-like colossus, throwing our weight around and lording it over the entire world, was probably a mistake to begin with. Certainly the Founders strongly and unequivocally advised against it, and their advice was always worth heeding.

The US is a decaying, dysfunctional husk in desperate need of restoration and repair; we should withdraw our nose from the business of others and get to it. Let Ukraine, Europe, and all the others deal with their own problems. We have too many of our own to be elbowing in on theirs, no matter how hard certain misguided people here push exactly that, no matter how many other nations insist we do it. We have enemies aplenty within our own borders, enough and to spare; there’s no need to go looking in faraway places for them, and precious little support—outside the salons of the self-styled “elite,” natch—for going around doing it.
