YOWZA!!

There’s also words, which after seeing that I’m rather short of myself.

We often find ourselves marvelling at the sheer stupidity of Western leaders – it is almost as if God designed some sort of highly sophisticated sorting machine for Western leaders that is precisely calibrated to return the most blindly unqualified moronic blithering idiot imaginable, 99% of the time. The other 1% is when we get EXTRAORDINARILY lucky and end up with a Coolidge, a Thatcher, a Reagan, or a Trump.

Sadly, the West these days is not fortunate, not at all. And this week, in particular, has shown us just how stupid and degenerate Western leaders have become.

Yesterday, the completely unqualified and frankly IMBECILIC Foreign Minister of Krautland, one Annalena Baerbock, whose background and education is in something useless in the humanities, straight-up said what the rest of us have long suspected – that she doesn’t care what her own voters think, and will continue to push for Ukraine’s interests over those of the German people. Never mind that this is the Foreign Minister of the most powerful country in Europe, in both economic and political terms – she is far too dense to think in such ways – what matters to this particularly stupid cow are the sacred borders of Banderastan, not the collapsing economy and hopes of her own people.

Then, last night, Americans watched aghast as their shambolic, (barely) reanimated corpse-walker of a President uttered a series of Angry Old Man noises on his way to calling 75 million people a threat to domestic security, and arguing that Republicans who vote for Trump are a menace to democracy. We know full well, of course, that he isn’t the one writing his own speeches – he is a meat-puppet, drugged to the gills with the REALLY STRONG SHIT and wheeled onto stage whenever the true controlling powers behind him want a few soundbites for the camera. But his views reflect those of a substantial minority of Americans-in-name-only who believe that they, not the great unwashed masses of Flyover Country, should be in charge.

Today, we received news that the G7 countries want to impose a price cap on Russian seaborne oil, and that the Europeans want to impose a price cap on Russian pipeline gas. The Russians responded by shutting down Nord Stream 1 indefinitely, due to what they call “technical issues” with the remaining turbines.

The Russians clearly understand that they hold the winning hand here. They are led by calm, rational, educated, skilled, experienced, capable people. The Europeans and Americans are led by people who are their exact opposites.

This will only end one way – with the economic collapse of Europe and the likely freezing and starvation of millions, followed shortly afterwards by civil unrest and violence on a scale that Europeans thought they left behind in the calamitous 14th Century.

Things are going to get really bad, really fast, unless the Europeans wake up and realise that the extremely high standard of living that they have achieved for the past 50 years, was only possible through cheap energy and the lack of any need to spend money on real military capabilities. Those days are definitively OVER, and days of extreme hardship and discomfort are coming.

Yet even in the midst of this madness, there is hope.

And know what? There is, there really, truly is. Follows, the optimistic stuff, then lots more smoking-hot ass, legs, face, and party-size fun bags. Next up, NC Scout puts us some dearly-bought knowledge, gained in the harshest of schools.

There’s few pleasures in life like having a conversation with an old friend. An intellectual equal, an open mind, and a counterpoise juxtaposed to any position I might hold. At least in some respects. Not a mental clone, and a radically different life philosophy than the one I live, replete with a well aged Che Guevara-turned-Guy Fawkes face inked on his upper arm. A free thinker and a beer drinker, an American original, and very much a product of a harsh upbringing. In another life he could have been leading any guerrilla force with a natural charisma and matching high intelligence; an insurgency’s wet dream and a security force nightmare. A person who recognizes the false charms of the Left, dangling Liberation in place of Liberty and begging you not to realize words have meaning. He’s an example of life on the eastern side of Appalachians.

It was a discussion on what freedom in America really even means anymore and what it will take to remain that way. Because it is a realization that we are indeed not free, that the world in which we reside has visibly chosen a path for us not to live but to die upon having no further utility to the machine. They don’t want you armed, they don’t want you thinking, and most importantly they do not want you on what they claim is theirs, as inheritors of the Earth. It begets a wonderful flow of questions, uncomfortable answers, and certainly interesting observations. When authority fails, that authority resorts to force.

A Guerrilla Movement must be reflective of the underlying culture which it seeks to preserve. I reflected upon my respect for the Afghan. In twenty years’ time, and perhaps forty, counting our exploitation of the Soviet misgivings, the West could never understand the Afghan puzzle. How can a people exist as a throwback to another time, absent the comfort we all come to know? Comfort to the Afghan serves two purposes; one, an outward showing of wealth, the other, a precursor to death. To the Afghan comfort leads to complacency, and at least in my experience, they sought simplicity. For all their failings as judged upon Western scales, they endure. Every aesthetic tells a generations-old story of what brought them to the present, and that story will carry their sons and grandsons forward generations more.

The people of a place, and thus the culture therein, creates the ecology of the Guerrilla. There are those pockets of cultural resistance in America, having borne the brunt of relentless attacks on its history and cultural significance. I frequently encounter these in my travels, training them to fight. One such is the Appalachian mountain region. Years ago in a conversation Dan Morgan made the observation, as an outsider, that the southern region of Appalachia was as clannish and buttoned up as any he’d ever encountered, paralleling his experience in Afghanistan, taking the better part of a decade to begin to build that fragile trust among the local populace. I chuckled, being intimately familiar with the anatomy of local politics. Those of the unelected kind. Those that are outwardly hostile to any unfamiliar face. These are protective measures to ensure the survival of culture. If you know, you know, or so its said, and if you’re fortunate enough to have been raised in such a culture you instantly understand.

It’s that same way in the Blue Ridge too; years back, my brother lived there, driving a big truck delivering prefab log-home kits to be constructed for inbound yuppie-Yankee types. On a regular basis, the reclusive ridge-runners native to the area, after waiting patiently for the new house to be about halfway finished, would descend from the hills and piney woods to set the new construction ablaze, burning the whole thing to ashes and costing somebody one hell of a lot of money, time, and wasted effort. The idea was to discourage the yups from moving in and ruining their home with the traffic jams, rising cost of living, and overcrowding they reliably bring with them everywhere they go.

Scout waxes optimistic about the ability of those mountain folk to not merely survive but to thrive, against all odds and in the face of great adversity brought on by a now openly hostile central government. Personally, I found this bit quite heartening as well.

Somebody maybe ought to remind Pedo Joe at this point of his ignominious beating of feet from Afghanistan—his almighty F15s and thoroughly modern military driven off in humiliating defeat after twenty years of bootless tail-chasing, by a rabble of cave-dwelling, mule-jockeying primitives armed with little more than AKs and sheer will. Then again, I very much doubt he remembers what he had for breakfast this morning.

The greatest airplane story EVAR

Anybody who has even the slightest tinge of affection for the WW2-era piston-engine classics is going to LOVE this one.

On 26 May 1940, No 19 Squadron Leader Geoffrey Stephenson left RAF Duxford airfield in Spitfire N3200, piloting the aircraft on its first and only mission. Before the Battle of Britain, Duxford’s Spitfires were recruited in the defence of Operation Dynamo.

Dynamo was the emergency evacuation of the British Expeditionary Forces from the French port of Dunkirk by the Royal Navy, and had air cover from all available Royal Air Force aircraft – including Spitfire N3200.

Now, 82 years on, the recovered aircraft stands proudly at IWM Duxford, just a short walk from the very same hangar where the No 19 Squadron’s Spitfires were kept during World War Two. Spitfire N3200 has also been fully restored to flying condition, and is set to take flight once again at Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show on 10 and 11 September 2022.

But what happened to Spitfire N3200 in May 1940, and how did it return to its home at Duxford?

The Brylcreem Boys of No 19 Squadron were tasked with a crucial mission in the renowned Miracle of Dunkirk: flying CAS as close-pressed hordes of British, Belgian, and French footsloggers were plucked from the beach and ferried across the Channel to safety. And then…

After shooting down a Junkers Ju 87 Stuka dive-bomber, Stephenson was himself shot down, crash-landing on a beach at Sangatte, near Calais. He was captured, remaining a prisoner for the rest of the war.

While Stephenson spent the war imprisoned, including a stint at the notorious Colditz Castle, Spitfire N3200 sank slowly into the sand.

Which is when events took a REALLY interesting turn.

Over 45 years later in 1986, Spitfire N3200 emerged from the sand on a French beach. Strong currents had revealed the crashed aircraft, and so began the process of excavating the wreck, which although largely intact, not much could be salvaged.

The Spitfire’s pilot, Geoffrey Stephenson, survived the war but was not able to see his aircraft dragged from the beach. He was tragically killed in America in 1954 during a test flight.

In 2000, Dr Thomas Kaplan and Simon Marsh commissioned Historic Flying Limited to restore Spitfire N3200 to its former glory. Only 4 years later, the aircraft returned to the skies.

As you can see, glory is most definitely the mot juste for this war-eagle reborn.

Spitfire!

Beautiful, no? And with such a unique story to tell, too.

Tables: TURNED

The wailing of Sanctuary City shitlibs is as sweet, sweet music to mine ears.

Texas sends buses of migrants to Chicago for first time, dropped off at train station
Chicago is the third Democrat-run city where Texas officials have sent migrants illegal aliens

FIFY, assholes.

An estimated 80 to 100 people were on the buses, including 20 to 30 small children. Many of the migrants said they were from Venezuela.

Chicago is the latest city where migrants have been bused to from Texas, following New York City and Washington, D.C., all of which have Democrat mayors.

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement that he looks forward to seeing Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot welcome the migrants since Chicago is a sanctuary city.

“President Biden’s inaction at our southern border continues putting the lives of Texans—and Americans—at risk and is overwhelming our communities,” Abbott said. “To continue providing much-needed relief to our small, overrun border towns, Chicago will join fellow sanctuary cities Washington, D.C. and New York City as an additional drop-off location. Mayor Lightfoot loves to tout the responsibility of her city to welcome all regardless of legal status, and I look forward to seeing this responsibility in action as these migrants receive resources from a sanctuary city with the capacity to serve them.”

A statement from Abbott’s office said that Chicago is being added as a “drop-off location” for future migrant buses in response to “President Biden’s open border policies overwhelming border communities in Texas.”

A spokesperson from Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s office said in a statement that Abbott is “without any shame or humanity.”

Actually, I have to agree; it IS kinda inhumane when you think about it, sending those poor illegals to a murderous shitpit like Chicago.

“As a city, we are doing everything we can to ensure these immigrants and their families can receive shelter, food, and most importantly protection. This is not new; Chicago welcome hundreds of migrants every year to our city and provides much-needed assistance,” a spokesperson for Lightfoot’s office said. “Unfortunately, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is without any shame or humanity. But ever since he put these racist practices of expulsion in place, we have been working with our community partners to ready the city to receive these individuals.”

New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams, upon meeting the migrants on Aug. 7, said that the actions of Abbott are “horrific.”

After sending the migrants to New York, Abbott said that the area is an “ideal destination for these migrants.”

“In addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city,” said Abbott. “I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.”

Annnnd bingo. Well said, Governor, and good on ya.

You preening, sanctimonious libtards love to talk all your “sanctuary” talk at the rest of us, but when forced to walk the walk yourselves for a change you nearly shit your pants in agony over the horror, the INJUSTICE!!! of having the merest pinch of your own shit thrown back into your pinched, smarmy faces.

After years and years of A) flatly refusing to maintain the security of our southern border, B) denying the very concept of the US even having a border at all, and C) blithely averting their eyes from the financial hardship, criminal predation, and general anarchy said refusal directly imposes on towns all along said border, Lefty asswipes now have the brass, the stones, the unmitigated fucking gall to whine like little bitches when the governor of one (1) state affected by their self-serving, unworkable policies and programs?

SRSLY?!?

Word to Bowser, Adams, Lightfoot, and every other “sanctuary” city mayor: Eat a big bag of dicks, whydon’tcha. There’s a clear, simple, and highly valuable lesson to be learned here, if only you had the wit to pay heed.

Update! As always, liberalism is a luxury none but the most affluent society can afford to indulge for very long.

The surest sign that public policies are simply virtue signals is when the messages don’t cost anything. The easiest way to tell when that signal starts to fail is to watch politicians flounder as the costs start to rise and voters demand relief.

It was free—and meaningless—for progressive churches to post banners calling themselves “nuclear free zones” during the Reagan era. Their dwindling congregations loved it. It was free, after George Floyd’s murder, to post woke catechism signs on your front lawn, proclaiming “In this house, we believe: Black Lives Matter, women’s rights are human rights, no human is illegal” and so on. Maybe the neighbors gave you high-fives. And for years it has been free for deep-blue cities to proclaim themselves “sanctuaries” for illegal immigrants. That’s changing now that voters want some sanctuary for themselves.

Changes like this happen when voters realize the old virtue signals actually entail serious costs—and that they will have to pay them. That is exactly what’s happening in New York City and Washington D.C. now that Texas governor Greg Abbott is sending those cities a few busloads of illegal immigrants from his state.

These progressive bastions were silent when the Biden administration flew planeloads of illegal immigrants to suburban airports in the middle of the night. TV coverage was prohibited, and the arrivals were secretly dispersed. Abbott’s buses, by contrast, arrive downtown greeted by local TV crews. Now you can hear the politicians screech.

Abbott’s goal is to squeeze the vise tighter on those politicians, to force them to change course on national immigration policy and lessen the flood of immigrants into his state—or else pay the price in their home states.

Kinda tough to see how that’s anything but totally fair, but then I’m not a shitlib retard either.

The buses are a political stunt, of course, but a very shrewd one. Abbott is up for reelection, and he’s visibly showing his support for beleaguered Texas cities and counties. He’s putting his liberal Democratic opponent, Beto O’Rourke, in an awkward position. O’Rourke specializes in showy, high-profile gestures but has no plan to alleviate the migrant problem. Finally, Abbott hopes to force the hand of national Democrats, who don’t care one iota about the social, financial, and law-enforcement burdens facing his state, but do care about those immigrants arriving in Manhattan or D.C.

Lipson goes on to speculate that eventually, shitlibs will begin to pressure their national “leaders” to reconsider the program of intentionally swamping the nation with illegal aliens for purely political purposes. But having never in all my many years seen a single instance of a “liberal” admitting error and reversing course, on any level at all, I can’t honestly say I expect any such thing myself. Such an admission would require a humility and honesty not one of them possesses, in any degree whatsoever.

Embrace anger

We stand at the crossroads, ostensibly “led” by a corrupt, senile pedophile who is stumbling through history without the vaguest clue of who he is, what he’s doing, or where he’s going.

The meat of the speech was no better than Biden’s health. He kept repeating the term “MAGA,” painting those who voted for Donald Trump as evil fascists that pose a direct threat to the very well-being of the nation. That’s ludicrous, and as I’ve shared before, it’s also incredibly dangerous. When you begin attack tens of millions of Americans as scum, suggesting they are going to destroy “our democracy,” that justifies just about anything in response, doesn’t it? Someone is going to get hurt based on his incitement.

For sure and certain, which is perfectly meet and just. After tonight, it is absolutely imperative for Real Americans—or, put in the way I plan to use from here on out because fuck Joe Biden, that’s why, MAGA Americans—to see to it that it’ll be shitlibs doing most of the hurting, not Our Side.

Some may see this as a sad or lamentable situation, but I must admit that I no longer can. Let our course of action henceforth be the one commended to us by our Founding Fathers as the only just and proper way to deal with tyrants like Biden and his vile Democrat Party. Contra Pedo Jaux and his forked-tongue blather, when anger is righteous, it should be embraced not with reluctance or regret, but pridefully, even joyously. The solemn American duty to offer stiff resistance to all tyranny for the sake of ourselves and our posterity is no burden; it’s an honor.

All that aside, though, Biden’s brazen call for violence, bloodshed, and hatred was not entirely without its moments.

Heh. That’s the spirit. Resist we much, fuckface.

Update! STILL not getting it.

Tonight’s speech was a dark moment in American history. It shows a man desperate and gasping at straws as he sees his presidency—and the country he claims to love—crumbling around him.

“Desperate”? No, no, a thousand times no. What I saw was a cocksure, aggressive usurper blatantly doing battlespace prep, urging his Satanic followers on to war against their erstwhile countrymen. Unless and until we recognize what’s taking place right before our very eyes, we can never truly be ready for what’s coming.

Publick Notice

Sporadic and unsatisfactory blogging will continue hereabouts for the nonce, sorry to say. After some increasingly strident urging from a good few friends of mine, my boy Tim hipped me to a good, reasonably priced USB microphone which I’m going to dip into my meager funds and order this coming Friday for podcasting purposes. I’ve been working on getting all set up and ready to go on that long-deferred project the past cpl of weeks, and still have plenty more to do yet.

Welcome to Demoworld

Where the “president” is a senile kiddie-diddler, every “election” is fraudulent, every cupboard is bare, and every day is Friday the 13th.

Horrific Biden Consequence, 20 Million American Households Behind on Electricity Bills, Pending Shutoff
Long-term CTH readers might remember in 2014 when President Obama claimed U.S. families had been paying too little for electricity for too long. As soon as Joe Biden took office, he began implementing the Green New Deal energy policy that, (a) directly forces higher costs for energy; and (b) is now creating massive problems.

Steve Cortes calls this the backside of the Biden created inflation hurricane. The backside of a hurricane is the worst because it hits from the opposite direction upon already weakened infrastructure.

The hurricane metaphor is apt because any increase in energy costs will be accompanied by the simultaneous arrival of another wave of food inflation, as the massive increases in field and crop prices start to feed into the food supply chain headed to our forks next month.

Making matters that much worse, Bloomberg is now reporting that 20 million households are now behind in their utility bills, specifically electricity bills, and the moratorium on shut offs has ended.

One in six U.S. households, that is tens-of-millions of Americans, are now facing having their electricity turned off due to lack of payment. It is certainly understandable how this horrific outcome would happen. Joe Biden’s energy policies are destroying working class families with unsustainably higher prices.

20 million households is a catastrophic level of utility default. This is a serious issue with major social implications created by the desperation of those families. Middle- and lower-income families cannot survive this level of financial pressure.

Rents are behind. Mortgages are behind. Car payments are behind. And now this report on utility bills.

Hrm. Seems to me like this might be the perfect time to order those self-same impoverished Americans—millions upon millions of whom were unable to afford college themselves—to foot the bill for the unpaid student debt of all those poor, suffering Yale-law graduates, no?

And, in the middle of all this, the Biden administration has just committed $300 billion (which we don’t have – it’ll all have to be borrowed) to pay down student loan balances. A more fiscally ridiculous, budgetarily insane, economically short-sighted decision would be hard to imagine…and just think of the inflationary pressures it will release on its own, even without considering other examples of government overreach and irresponsible expenditure.

Remember Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum? This is their vision of a future Utopia.

Yep. Must be a coinkydink, I’m thinking. Bayou Pete goes on to point us towards another extremely interesting coinkdink, duly noted over at Doug Casey’s International Man.

The term “Nazi” refers to Nationalsozialistisch, or “National Socialism,” and its overall concept was fascism – a concept that encompassed a corporatist economic system, socialist political system and totalitarian rule.

Whilst this description may seem rather convoluted, the concept was believed by Wall Street and much of the US government in the 1930s as the way of the future. So much so that they provided considerable financial and logistical support for Nazi Germany during the 1930s and even into the 1940s.

Following the war, only a handful of Germans were prosecuted for war crimes at the Nuremburg trials. Countless others were taken on board by both US industry and the government following the war, to educate American industry in German methodology.

For many years following the war, Nazi concepts remained under the radar, but in recent years, they’ve become a major force within not only the US, but also US ally states: Canada, Australia, the UK and, most notably, the EU.

The basic concepts are perennial in their attraction to those who seek to dominate:

  1. Create an uber class of those who are highly positioned in both industry and politics.
  2. Cripple the middle class economically, so that they no longer have the power to make their own life decisions.
  3. Offer dramatically increased dependency on the State as a relief from the economic hardship created by the state.
  4. Remove freedoms, in trade for the promise of largesse from the State.
  5. Institute a police state and totalitarian rule to ensure that the new paradigm will be lasting.
  6. Once controls are fully implemented and the populace has become dependent on the new system, begin to remove the promised entitlements.

The idea behind this final bullet point is that, once the population is thoroughly dependent upon the state, they will have lost the power to object or rebel if entitlements are removed. They are then fully dominated.

The government will have full control of every aspect of your life, plus the task of removing any obstacles to your happiness.

Sounds wonderful. Where do I sign up?

But if we stop and think for a moment, we might wish to ask a few questions.

For one thing, you give up all rights at the beginning of the deal. You will have lost all your possessions and all your freedoms. You will be 100% dependent upon the state. Their part of the deal is to be delivered on the back end.

But once you’re totally dependent and can no longer extricate yourself from the deal, there’s nothing to stop them from removing the punch bowl… Oh-oh.

Gee, whodathunkit, that all these fresh, innovative Progressivist ideas would turn out to be just the same old fascist shinola underneath a newly-repainted hood? More, and much, much creepier, can be perused at the IM link, of which you should definitely read the all.

I’ll say this much: hard times are right around the corner for us—far harder than any American alive today has ever come even close to experiencing. And all of this impending suffering and woe, every last bit of it, is the perfectly predictable result of the warped, proven-disastrous scourge of Leftism. A fine opportunity to run this Omar and the Howlers classic, I do believe.

What the hell, might’s well enjoy ourselves an encore performance of another badass Omar number, no? Happily, this one’s actually a two-fer.

Update! Deets on the Biden Bailout.

This plan isn’t just a bailout for well-off college degree holders. It’s a slap in the face for hardworking Americans.

It’s a slap in the face to the working-class father who dreamed of sending his daughter to college. He took on an extra shift at work, skipped vacations, and put off needed home repairs, all so that he could save every penny so that his daughter wouldn’t need to go into debt to go to school.

It’s a slap in the face for the recent college graduate who decided to live with three roommates and take the bus to work every day so that every extra dollar could be put toward getting himself out of student loan debt.

It’s a slap in the face for the high school graduate who decided to enlist in the military and take advantage of our country’s promise to him: You serve, we pay for your college.

With the swipe of a pen, Biden made a mockery of such sacrifices.

His plan aims to forgive up to $20,000 of student loan debt for Pell Grant holders and $10,000 for all other debt holders earning under $125,000 a year (or $250,000 for a household).

The Biden plan is estimated to cost American taxpayers roughly $300 billion at a time when they’re struggling to cope with record-high inflation.

This unprecedented, legally questionable action from the Biden administration begs countless unanswered questions.

The author goes on to ask a handful of ’em, but I have one or two myself: Why should these exorbitantly-priced diploma mills get off scot-free from a “crisis” they played a huge part in creating? Is it in any way reasonable or fair that they aren’t expected to pay at least some price for their prominent role in this flagrant scam?

In the end, it all comes down to this.

In reality, forgiving student loan debt isn’t just bad public policy for failing to address the root causes of skyrocketing college tuition. It is also a sign of disrespect for most Americans and a reminder that the priority for policymakers in Washington is to assuage the elite at the expense of the working class.

A country that respected its workers wouldn’t ask them to pay for college degrees they didn’t get. It wouldn’t dismiss the sacrifices of those who paid and ask them to pay again through taxation for those who didn’t.

A country that took seriously the impact of inflation on American families wouldn’t make the problem worse through poorly designed elitist handouts.

Fairness and responsibility have left the conversation when it comes to loan forgiveness, and those values have been replaced by greed and victimhood.

College is indeed too expensive, and for many it’s not worth it. Unfortunately, those who decided not to go into debt to attend college now will be forced to pay anyway.

The refusal to admit the obvious—that the federal student loan program has been a massive failure that drives up college prices—is nothing short of a betrayal of the American people.

Sorry, close but not quite there yet. What it REALLY is is a big, fat “Fuck you, chumps!” for them, accompanied by two upraised middle fingers and a hearty Bronx cheer, all courtesy of a bogus “elite” which, having grown insolent from being allowed to get away with way too much for way too long now, desperately needs a refresher course in all the reasons they ought to fear us instead.

Second look at “The Talk”?

Derbyshire proven right.

Last Sunday, a college couple, 22-year-old Adam Simjee and his 20-year-old girlfriend, Mikayla Paulus, were driving through Talladega National Forest when they were flagged down by a black woman having car trouble. If I tell you the good Samaritans may have been National Review readers, you can probably guess that one of them ended up dead.

As they were trying to fix the car, the woman, Yasmine Hider, pointed a gun at them and demanded they walk into the woods and hand over their phones and wallets. At some point, Simjee pulled out his own gun and started firing at Hider, wounding her. She shot back, killing him.

The reason I suspect the couple were National Review readers is that the “good Samaritan” ruse was one of the bullet points in John Derbyshire’s famous “The Talk: Nonblack Version,” which got him fired from National Review in 2012—standing athwart history and mewling, “Please like me, liberals.”

Derbyshire hadn’t even published the piece in NR.

He was responding to a spate of lachrymose accounts of black parents describing “The Talk” they have to give their sons, instructing them to be super polite to police officers—smile and say, “Yes, sir”—lest the officer shoot them to death for no reason whatsoever. (Ask any police officer, and they will tell you black arrestees, to a man, are the politest people you will ever meet.)

In the piece, Derbyshire issued exhortations about treating black people with “the same courtesies you would extend to a nonblack citizen,” but then listed “some unusual circumstances,” requiring extra vigilance due to “considerations of personal safety.”

The “personal safety” rules concerned only complete strangers. His point was that when you have no other information to go on, you have to rely on statistics.

Derbyshire’s Rule 10 (h) was: “Do not act the Good Samaritan to blacks in apparent distress, e.g., on the highway.” He appended links to stories like the one that began this column.

Coulter goes on to list a few examples, then quotes one of Derb’s more fierce detractors at the time (Slate’s Will Saletan) before deftly skewering him thusly:

Thus, his central complaint was: “Derbyshire thinks his data warrant his conclusions. But all his data references include the crucial term ‘mean’ or ‘average.’ They don’t tell you about the person walking toward you. They tell you what you can assess about the probability of danger when the only information you have is color.”

Yes, exactly, you complete moron. That’s the point, subtly indicated by Derbyshire stating that he was referring only to those occasions when you don’t have any other information about a person. (Do black parents giving “The Talk” remind their sons not to make assumptions about any particular cop walking toward them?)

Back in the halcyon days of Mayors Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg, we had one other fact to guide us: Criminals were in prison. Unfortunately for black people, a small percentage of their community commit a boatload of crime. But as long as criminals went to prison, New Yorkers could pass black men with little concern because if they were criminals, they’d most likely be locked up, not standing on a subway platform next to you.

Not anymore.

Which, to unanimous shitlib amazement, hasn’t worked out at all well for anybody. Go figure, huh?

7

WHO’S the authoritarian again, now?

The incomparable John Hayward, a/k/a Doc Zero lays down some more of his usual 120-octane, big-T Truth for us.

For all the howling about Trump’s “authoritarian tendencies,” there is no question whatsoever that Americans were more free during his term, and it’s a safe bet they would become more free if he runs and defeats Joe Biden in 2024.

This is one reason the NeverTrumpers can’t connect with any significant portion of the Republican electorate. They’re getting real authoritarianism shoved down their throats right now. The Dems just stole another trillion dollars from them with a fraud “inflation reduction” bill.

All of the money Democrats stole will be devoted to cracking down on the American people, reducing their freedoms, taking more of their money away, forcibly reducing their “carbon footprints” by making their lives worse, and pushing collectivist ideology.

We’re living in a time when fascist government/corporate speech control partnerships are the order of the day. The ruling party doesn’t even try all that hard to disguise its censorship orders to corporate lackeys. Meanwhile, the bureaucracy is utterly weaponized against us.

A growing number of issues are taken out of our hands. We’re told we’re no longer allowed to vote on matters “settled” by “expert consensus.” The bureaucracy we never get to vote against, which can fight back against even our elected representatives, grows bigger and richer.

Trump didn’t do those things to us. He wasn’t thinking about ways to make the American people smaller by making the State bigger. He wasn’t busy weaponizing every federal office to go after his enemies. Frankly, he didn’t pay *enough* attention to the Permanent State.

It’s a sad commentary on our corrupt system that you have to put a Republican in the White House if you want adversarial media coverage, or bureaucratic checks and balances against executive power. At least the growth of authoritarianism slows a little.

But Trump deserves more credit than just being flummoxed by a system that didn’t want his hand on the levers of authoritarian power. He didn’t devote his administration to attacking and subjugating the American people, like Biden does. He didn’t try to make us smaller.

He didn’t work from the assumption that every problem in America is the fault of its damnable people, the way Dems do. He wasn’t obsessed with creating a punitive State or putting America last on the world stage. He didn’t have the contempt for us that pumps the Left’s blood.

He most certainly didn’t. And that carries a hidden irony along with it. Trump’s unalterable belief in the fundamental righteousness of America and his faith in the essential decency of her people are simultaneously both appealing…and a YUUUGE factor in his downfall.

Setback

Spoke with BCE earlier, to check in on the results of today’s court date. Alas, the news was…not good. Increasing the awfulness by orders of magnitude is that I got to meet the Gran, Adriana, when BCE and fam made a stopover here on the way to Tennessee. What a sweet, adorable little thing that young ‘un is. It did my crusty, desiccated old soul good to watch her running merrily from one end of the house to the other, a purloined TV remote clutched tightly in one hand, a practice Big Country said was SOP at Casa Expat. Too, too funny.

From what he told me, Tennessee’s court system is a total bag of dicks, just a fucked-up mess of a shit-circus. I can scarcely even believe some of the things that went on in that court today, so incredibly outlandish were they. The mind, it reels. “Miscarriage of justice” doesn’t even begin to meet the case.

My heart just breaks for my brother-from-another-mother Big Country, his wife Gretch, and poor little Adriana most of all. Hang in there, all of you, any way you can manage. I refuse to believe that this is the end of it; no God worthy of the title would allow it to be so, nor should He. I implore you good people: stay strong and keep the faith. There are more chapters to be written in this book yet. I love you all, and will be praying that we see a happier resolution soon.

Second look at the Bundy Ranch standoff?

The Bundy family’s take on our awful central government’s true nature was more accurate than they’ve ever been given credit for.

BUNKERVILLE, NEVADA—The Bundy Ranch roundup has understandably stirred thin-stretched emotions as the federal government seizes cattle belonging to the Bundy family. The family settled in the late 1800’s and has ranched in the area since. The federal government allowed Nevada ranchers to graze their cattle on federal tracts of land adjacent to their private properties for generations. The federal government later created the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to administer and “protect” the vast swaths of federal land—including the land the Bundy family’s livelihood was—and still is—dependent upon. The BLM began restricting ranchers’ usage of federal lands to protect various species, and the BLM decided to restrict the Bundy family’s usage of the federal land they historically grazed. The federal government told the Bundy family that a tortoise existed on the land and therefore the land’s usage for cattle would have to decrease—thus creating a scenario where the Bundy family could make fewer resources. A 20-year legal battle ensued.

There exist a number of elements to the story that inject shades of grey into the dominant media narrative. Perhaps hundreds of Bundy supporters have already shown up to the ranch area to “protect” the family and their land—which is federal land—but federal land such usage was promised to the family in the government’s efforts to get people to settle the West after Mexico ceded the land to the U.S. Court documents—discussed later in this article—reveal that the Bundy family decided at some point that the federal government was illegitimate and that they no longer had to give heed to the federal courts. The Bundy family patriarch has openly stated his willingness to use force against federal agents if they take his cattle off of the federal lands; the federal agents stand ready to use force against the family or their supporters if they interfere with the cattle removal. Both sides are armed, both sides are frustrated, and the rhetoric and hyperbole surrounding the entire matter has left many onlookers from around the world confused as to what is actually happening.

In the immediate aftermath of the infamous cattle roundup, Cliven Bundy granted a number of high profile media interviews continuing to deny—to the point of absolutely ignoring family history—what the federal courts have twice told him.

“I believe this is a sovereign state of Nevada,” Bundy recently told a radio reporter. “…I abide by all of Nevada state laws. But, I don’t recognize the United States Government as even existing.”

Oh, it exists right enough, I’m afraid. Cliven and several of his compatriots ended up finding that out the hard way. The thing I remember being struck by more forcefully than anything else at the time was the near-universal condemnation of the Bundys from the Right. Even folks whose ideological inclinations might be taken as suggestive of deep antipathy for FederalGovCo, its minions, and its nefarious works were suddenly tripping over themselves to join [wpdiscuz-feedback id=”hw7r99ujes” question=”Comments? Complaints? Thoughts?” opened=”0″]the mad rush to take the Almighty State’s side[/wpdiscuz-feedback] on this one.

Broke-black (Space) Mountain

Standing athwart reality, yelling “Go away, go away!

The Six Flags CEO is having to explain the decision to raise prices and eliminate discounts at the company’s parks, in light of the emerging fact that attendance is down by 22% since the decision was made. He said in a statement that the price increase was a result of the company’s problems with what he referred to as “rowdy teenagers.”

We realized that we had discounted too much and we were filling the park with the wrong kinds of customers. So, we only got the discounter or we became a day care center for teenagers. It was a cheap day care center for teenagers during breaks and the summers. So we began raising prices to reduce the numbers of rowdy teenagers running around.

By rowdy teenagers, he means groups of feral black teens who had bought discount tickets before running amok in the parks and beating the shit out of customers who were paying full price. The Six Flag parks were becoming areas that families were learning to avoid.

The Six Flags America, located just outside of DC in Maryland, hosted a Halloween event called “Fright Night.” It was attended by large groups of blacks that began vandalizing cars in the parking lot and attacking other customers by using mob violence tactics who were executing planned ambushes of young white girls. The local cops claim that they were searching for the perpetrator, but it’s nearly a year later and no arrests have been made.

A similar story in Six Flags Great America just outside of Chicago. Out of control blacks attacked a family for asking them to control their foul language around small children. They wound up beating a 12 year old girl and her parents.

We can’t be seen as racist, because not all black people are like that, or something. So let’s call criminal behavior, vandalizing property, and beating the shit out of people as being “rowdy.” Let’s refer to black adolescents as “teens” so no one will know we are talking about a violent race of criminals. It sure isn’t Norwegians or Canadians that are terrorizing the paying customers here.

On average, the black race is broken to the point that wherever blacks congregate, crime, violence, and poverty are more likely than places where they are not found. The only place where this is not true is in Hollywood. The only places where blacks in large numbers are successful doctors, lawyers, and other professionals are make believe- television and movies. It isn’t that the US is racist, so don’t go there. Name an economically successful black country. The only one I can think of is Wakanda, also make believe.

I’ve always found the “teens” and “youths” dodges—the former a domestic desperation-cringe, the latter Eurospeak for “murdering, gang-raping Moslem terrorists”—highly amusing, since absolutely no one is fooled by that silly-ass shit anymore, thereby leaving this particular instance of the larger Orwellian flimflam of word-wreckery perched solidly atop the ever-loftier ziggurat compiling the most spectacularly abject amongst Liberalism’s innumerable Epic Fails™.

Tip of the world’s biggest iceberg

Just in case anybody out there thought it was only rich, powerful, famous folks like Trump FederalGovCo goon squads really care about going after hammer and tongs, leaving ordinary, innocuous schlubs like you and me alone.

Gird your loins average Republicans. From day 1, the Biden Regime has (like Obama) sought to punish political enemies. Until now, they focused on politically active folks. Now they appear to be about to revive the Obama era abuse of the IRS to go after conservatives.

Remember those bad old days? Between 2009 and 2011, IRS audits against small businesses increased 32%. Among the 100s of businesses raided by the IRS and Department of Justice, using paramilitary, gestapo like tactics, was Mountain Pure Water Bottling & Duncan Outdoors, Inc.

Who can forget the raid on Gibson Guitar (located in Tenn.) where armed agents from the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife raided 4 factories, confiscating guitars and sending hundreds of employees home. Gibson was accused of using illegal wood in violation of the outdated Lacey Act.

Underreported at the time was the fact that Gibson’s chief executive, Henry Juszkiewicz, contributed to GOP politicians. By contrast, the Dem donor CEO of Martin & Co. a another guitar maker, reportedly used the same type of wood but was left alone.

On 01/18/2012, 40-50 heavily armed, hostile gov agents raided Mountain Pure water, scaring the heck out of everyone in the building. The owner said he was cursed at, spat on & bullied in such an egregious fashion, he felt like they were trying to provoke him to react violently.

The owner, John Stacks said his son, Court Stacks, the General Manager, had a loaded gun pointed to his face. His seven and a half month pregnant wife watched news coverage of the raid at home in horror. She would later lose the baby.

Stacks said one of the agents told him, “we’re the federal government and we can do anything we want to.”

So far, the evidence supporting that statement is overwhelming–in fact, there’s none at all to contradict it. Bear in mind, too, that these are only a mere handful of such incidents, involving just one federal agency. Incidents we know about, that is.

A new low

Anyone who thinks I’m overstating how deeply, fanatically obsessed these 24-karat loons are with Trump is hereby encouraged to think again.

I mean, like, STRONGLY encouraged.

Remember our toilet scoop in Axios AM earlier this year? Maggie Haberman’s forthcoming book about former President Trump will report that White House residence staff periodically found wads of paper clogging a toilet — and believed the former president, a notorious destroyer of Oval Office documents, was the flusher.

Why it matters: Destroying records that should be preserved is potentially illegal.

Trump denied it and called Haberman, whose New York Times coverage he follows compulsively, a “maggot.”

  • Well, it turns out there are photos. And here they are, published for the first time.

Haberman — who obtained the photos recently — shared them with us ahead of the Oct. 4 publication of her book, “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America.”

  • A Trump White House source tells her the photo on the left shows a commode in the White House.
  • The photo on the right is from an overseas trip, according to the source.

I didn’t bother to hit the link and look at the pics, because man, just fuck that noise all to hell and gone. Monica Showalter, however, had a strong enough stomach to take the, ummm, plunge.

Since the toilet pictures are right in our faces, what I see in this toilet picture are what look like a few doodled names, not official records. Is a president no longer permitted to jot down doodles with names without their becoming official records?

All of this is assuming the pictures are genuine, and the scrawled notes in the toilet actually did come from Trump, who, clean freak that he is, somehow left a lot of unflushed toilets around for staff to photograph.

Here’s the question I have:

If the violation was so severe that official records were being destroyed and the staffer was so motivated by concern about the matter, despite working for Trump, why didn’t that poop-minded creature looking into other people’s toilets fish out the errant document and preserve it as evidence? You know, for patriotism, the call of duty? That would have made the notes a helluva lot more damning and persuasive as evidence than these gross photographs, which contain no proof that the scrawly doodles even contained any content, or that Trump wrote the scrawls, or that Trump flushed the notes, or that Trump was discarding official documents. How do we know that this “official document” wasn’t tossed into a wastebasket, and then placed in a very generic-looking toilet outside the White House as some kind of flushed document in a supposedly republic-threatening cover-up? There wasn’t exactly a chain of custody here.

I should certainly hope not. That said, I would put nothing whatsoever past these rubber-room habitués, up to and including bobbing for stinkpickles and other emetics in an unflushed bowl full of such horrid effluvia, hoping to extract a reeking but incriminating doodle-sheet from the filthy flotsam afloat therein, folding my noisome prize gingerly, and carrying it around in my pocket or purse for days on end, joyously reveling in my “journalistic” coup instead of immediately scheduling an appointment with the best shrink I could afford to try and ascertain just how and why it was that I had lurched so fantastically far afield from good mental hygiene as to actually detail, in a book intended for release to the general public, this bizarre fetish for disporting myself in various thundermugs full of God knows what, for purposes of retrieving an artifact of interest exclusively to other crackbrained nutjobs like myself.

Grotty to the MAX

Having seen this staggeringly wretched thing yesterday myself, Andrea couldn’t be righter on it.

I watch Tucker Carlson regularly. I don’t always agree with him, but I find him engaging and informative. However, when the show cuts to commercials, I hit the mute button. Today, I couldn’t find the clicker and found myself watching a Gillette Venus commercial celebrating pubic hair, something I found vulgar. However, my attitude changed when I realized why I was watching this ad: it’s a signal that advertisers are recognizing that, if they want to reach Democrats in the coveted (because profitable) 25–54 demographic, they must advertise on Tucker.

The commercial is not obscene. As I said, it’s just vulgar. If my kids were still young, I would not be very happy to have the news interrupted by a commercial focused on “pubes” and having singing pubic hairs on the beach.

As a general matter, that commercial represents the decay and coarsening of public culture. Once upon a time, whenever people were out in public, they wore nice clothes, hats, and gloves. The idea of wearing pajamas and slippers in public or going out with one’s pants falling down or a barely-there top was inconceivable.

Actually, as tawdry and repulsively-TMI as this dumpster fire of a commercial is, there’s a cultural aspect that I find at least mildly interesting, which Widberg’s next two ‘graphs bring to mind without overtly mentioning.

Nevertheless, when looked at the correct way, those dancing pubic hairs tell us something very good. For decades, nightly news shows have tended to have commercials that cater to old people: tactfully phrased ads for hemorrhoid relief, will-writing software, and digestive aids. The shows were not geared toward or reaching a younger audience.

This ad, though, is defiantly directed to young people, and not stodgy young people, either. So why would Gillette (which ran into trouble with conservatives over its embrace of so-called transgenderism and “toxic masculinity”) buy ad time to cater to edgy young women and, I guess, young men? The answer is, they’re buying ads because you go where the customers are.

And WOOT, there it is…almost.

Over recent years, as at least some of you out there must surely be aware, it’s become fashionable among a certain demographic, amongst both men and women, to trim, sculpt, or completely shave their pubes. Ever notice the overnight preponderance in retail outlets from Wal Mart to Walgreens of the suddenly-ubiquitous “personal trimmer” devices? Let me assure you, folks: those handy little appliances are by no means exclusively for purposes of keeping one’s beard, mustache, or sideburns neat and well-groomed.

Actually, in my not-trivial experience, I have to say that the majority of those “personal trimmers” will spend much more of their time being run over, across, and around various, shall we say, intimate regions than they will faces, armpits, and/or necks.

Call it part and parcel of life on the rock and roll road, but it in truth became not only vanishingly rare but also an unwelcome occurrence to run across a full, gnarly, unkempt bush on the ready, willing, and able babes one might end up with after a show. TMI again, perhaps, but, well, there it is.

A friend of mine even went so far as to pay the extra fee for a street-legal “personalized” NC license plate on his car which read “SMOOTHIES.” Yes, it meant exactly what you think it did. He told me he was pretty danged surprised that the state agreed without demur to allow such a thing, whereupon I responded that the morbidly obese, ill-tempered black lady at the tag bureau who filled out the DMV forms probably hadn’t the vaguest clue what was meant by it. We had ourselves many a good, long laugh over that one.

Emblematic of the steady coarsening of American culture? Indubitably so. Making a public display of something that society would be better off keeping a strictly private matter? Hey, no argument from here. An indication of the general de-evolutionary climb-down from long-accepted standards of mannerliness, good taste, and personal modesty? Yup. Nonetheless, I do find this broad shift in attitudes, and especially the way in which technology quietly adapted to accommodate and commercialize said shift, to be a fairly interesting phenomenon.

I long ago lost my capacity for dismay or distaste in reaction to finding myself taking a roll in the proverbial hay with a girl sporting a cute little “landing strip” on or about her nethers, if I ever had any such to begin with; I ain’t no prude, never have been and never will be. All the same, I’d just as soon not have to put up with TV commercials discussing that sort of thing, thanksveddymuch. I do get why Gillette would want to capitalize on what they perceive as a booming and underserved market niche, really I do. But shouldn’t there be at least some things that we can all agree are out of bounds, and not fodder for pub(l)ic discussion?
