Another non-apology apology

This time from Anheuser-Busch. Spencer’s title is worth a look all by itself.

Anheuser-Busch Issues Statement on Bud Light Brouhaha That Will Satisfy No One (Just Like Their Beer)

Heh. Mind, as somebody who never could stand beer, I have no dog in that particular fight.

It has been nearly two weeks now since Bud Light decided to shove transgender madness down our throats by featuring fake woman Dylan Mulvaney in its advertising, and only on Friday did Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth emerge from his bunker and offer a statement to try to tamp down the controversy. But in this hour of crisis for his company, which has lost $6 billion and counting in market value since Mulvaney became the Queen of Bud Light, Whitworth tried to satisfy everyone, and will only end up satisfying no one at all.

Most of Whitworth’s statement was just blather. “As the CEO of a company founded in America’s heartland more than 165 years ago,” he began, “I am responsible for ensuring every consumer feels proud of the beer we brew.” Now wait a minute, Whitworth. You may be proud of the beer you brew, although that would be a stretch given that it’s Budweiser, but you expect those who buy the beer to be proud of it, too? I’ve drunk a beer or two in my time, although I’ve generally avoided Bud, and I’ve never said or heard anyone else say, “I sure am proud of this beer.” Why would anyone feel proud of the beer he’s drinking? Does Brendan Whitworth feel a similar pride in the food he eats? Does he exclaim at lunch, “I am so darn proud of this ham sandwich!”?

This is a peculiarly twenty-first century form of blather. We’re supposed to be proud of everything now, even perversions and mental illnesses. And since Whitworth is writing to, among others, people who loudly proclaim how proud they are that Dylan Mulvaney is pretending to be a woman, his choice of words is unlikely to have been reflexive or accidental. He seems to be trying to sidle up to the gay pride folks without actually mentioning them straight out.

Whitworth informs us that he spent “time serving this country” and reminds us of “the importance of accountability,” even as he is in the process of evading accountability. “As CEO of Anheuser-Busch, I am focused on building and protecting our remarkable history and heritage. I care deeply about this country, this company, our brands and our partners. I spend much of my time traveling across America, listening to and learning from our customers, distributors and others.” Okay. So what about Dylan Mulvaney?

“Moving forward,” says the proud Brendan, “I will continue to work tirelessly to bring great beers to consumers across our nation.” Terrific. But…what about Dylan Mulvaney?

That was it. Brendan Whitworth went back into his bunker without saying a thing about why everyone was paying attention to his statement in the first place.

He’s right; I read the whole sorry statement earlier, and nowhere will you find any mention whatsoever of the very thing that sparked this whole controversy in the first damned place. Which is understandable, of course, when viewed from the position of an A-B exec. After all, the goal here is to get pissed-off Bud Light drinkers to STOP talking about it, not to spur on further discussion.

C’mon, everyone, let’s just move on, can’t we? It never happened, I don’t know what you’re talking about, and it was three other guys who did it! LOOK, OVER THERE, A SQUIRREL!

Bud Light is in a similar position to the one Harley-Davidson was some years back: an aging customer base, falling profits, dwindling interest among younger people in their products. I remembering reading an interview with some H-D exec or other discussing these very issues back when the Motor Company was down and very nearly out, and how it might possibly be resuscitated.

And shortly after I saw that article, behold! Harley’s big break with the tradition that originally made them, the V-Rod, was introduced. A truly radical departure from H-D’s legendary cruiser/touring bikes, with a brand-new Porsche-designed engine and groundbreaking (for Harley) cosmetics that dispensed with the classic Harley styling—fatbob tanks;  casual, laid-back seating position; wide bars; low to the ground; lots of eye-grabbing chrome—the V Rod was actually quite a success, at least in the overseas market.

Car & Driver said Harley-Davidson’s branding was “culturally rather than technologically driven; so imagine our surprise at seeing the company’s newest ride, the V-Rod, complete with a liquid-cooled DOHC four-valve V-twin developed in partnership with Porsche Engineering.” They added, “we think the V-Rod is a serious threat to its own stablemates as well as to cruisers from other manufacturers. It’s that good”.

Motorcycle Cruiser wrote “The V-Rod was intended to bring in more than the usual suspects, and it did. It became the company’s best-selling bike in other countries. In America, V-Rod buyers often came from other brands, attracted by its modern engine, excellent performance and not-the-usual-cruiser style”.

Gee, coinkydink? I think NOT.

What Harley managed to achieve with its market-base-extending new offering, A-B now hopes to pull off with its tranny-sicko ad campaign: lure in some new customers, and keep them. Just one problem with that, though.

Pro-sanity activist Matt Walsh remarked, “Anheuser Busch has finally released a statement, and it’s just as clumsy and stupid as the marketing stunt that got them into this mess in the first place.” He added, “The statement won’t satisfy their conservative customers because there is no apology or acknowledgment of wrong. And it won’t satisfy the Left because it doesn’t affirm transgenderism and admits at least (without using the word) that the trans issue ‘divides people.’” And most importantly, Walsh said, “the boycott is still on.”

Brendan Whitworth has thus accomplished nothing. And of course, he had extremely little room to maneuver. He couldn’t possibly disavow Dylan Mulvaney without enraging the Left and opening up his company to new boycotts, as well as to the possibility of violence against innocent Bud distributors and stores selling the product. But he couldn’t affirm that the Mulvaney campaign was a great idea without further alienating the patriots who are already making the company feel the heat in their declining market value. So he tried to balance between two barstools and fell off both.

Aww, too bad. My heart just bleeds for them, really it does. Red, that would be, not rainbow-hued.

After being saved by a timely goobermint tarriff increase in 83, the Harley Davidson Motor Company was able to make itself competitive on market ground which had shifted under its very feet, thanks in no part to the Big Four cabal of Jap-bike makers’ diabolically-cunning strategy to destroy the American motorcycle industry by flooding the market with cheap,  lightweight, durable, low-maintenance bikes—a move that actually saw a large portion of their own US dealership franchises driven out of business, having been forced to sell their wares at suicidal, below-cost prices due to the low skullduggery of the rice-burner manufacturers.

Question now is, in a world in which beer-drinkers have long since moved on to pricey boutique-beer, in the main brewed and sold locally, will there ever again be a significant market for the watery, limp pisswater cranked out by companies like A-B? Beer having (d)evolved from being something of a lowbrow preference to snobbish poofery? We shall see, we shall see.

Update! Further thoughts from Bill, who, like myself, is highly dubious of the notion that boycotts and the like ever accomplish much of anything.

“Reparations,” forsooth

The new Rosa Parks, just trying to “open a dialogue.”

Target security guard punches customer in the face after she demanded ‘reparations’

With that headline, the Post seems to be trying to make it look as if the security guard was out of line here. I assure you, he was no such thing; bitch got exactly what she had coming, that’s what.

A Target security guard punched a customer during a confrontation that was sparked when she asked for “reparations” while at a checkout line with more than $1,000 in groceries, according to a police report.

The ugly incident happened in October at the megastore in Blue Ash, Ohio, and began when Karen Ivery asked a cashier for their manager regarding the bill and reparations, according to the police report reviewed by The Post.

The cashier alleged to authorities that Ivery brought up reparations several times during their brief encounter before the manager arrived, the report states.

When speaking with the manager, the customer first asked for reparations and grew angry as she walked “aggressively” toward the manager, according to the report.

“Ivery kept berating her about reparations and her privileged life,” the report alleges as the patron kept walking toward the manager.

That’s when Zach Cotter, a loss prevention officer, intervened and asked Ivery to calm down and leave the store, the report states.

There’s a pic featuring the security guard’s lovely follow-through, and the FNIQ (Fat Nigger In Question) with her head snapped way the fuck back from the righteous smackeroo. It’s heartwarming, frankly. Onwards.

After reviewing footage of the incident, authorities wrote that they determined Ivery was the “aggressor” and she was placed under arrest.

“Ivery was confrontational with officers on the scene and didn’t want to explain her actions,” the report states.

In a bodycam video of the purported incident on YouTube, Ivery told an officer she wanted the cashier to contact the manager “so we could have a larger conversation about how money works, and how the provision works, and how it’s been working in our community in a very wrong way.”

“This is my Rosa Parks moment,” she added.

Because OF COURSE it is. So stunning, so brave, standing up to Da Man an’ demannin’ huh Rights n’sheet like dat!

I swear, if this incredible story doesn’t peg the needles on your Neegrow Fatigue meter, you probably ought to see a doctor or something.

What to do, what to do

Seeing through the fakery, dealing with the aftereffects.

A Means of Control
I read an article in Forbes the other day about the collapse of the dollar. I’m not linking it, because it was ridiculous. The reason Forbes said that the dollar would not collapse, was because it’s based on the economic output of the United States, a country that has the largest economy in the world of $23 trillion. The stability of the dollar, it said, was why it was the world reserve currency and that alone kept it from collapsing. This article was written March 29, 2023, about two weeks ago. The only thing that could possibly cause a collapse, it said, was something dramatic like a world war. Ha ha.

I don’t know if that was just financial propaganda to prevent panic selling or what, but if it was meant as a serious article, it ignored the realities of the world that currently exists. Our $23 trillion economy, our GDP, is dwarfed by the $32 trillion we’re in debt. The dollar is no longer the world reserve currency and more countries are dumping the dollar every day. China is cashing in it’s notes as fast as it can.

The other leg of the financial stool supporting the dollar is its use as an intermediary between nations to purchase oil, the petrodollar, which has recently been nixed by the cooperation of Russia and China to purchase Russian oil with Chinese Yuan. Saudi Arabia, our closest ally in the Middle East, at least as far as oil goes, just made a deal to sell oil using the Yuan.

The only thing supporting the dollar is printing. The Fed no longer has to buy bonds to create money, it just keystrokes in a few more billion to the nations banks.

Buying metals is a good way to avoid this obvious catastrophe in the making, but as we have seen before, they can just make owning precious metals illegal. Then, only the well-connected and criminal politicians will own these metals. Hiding your stores will be a felony so when you go to use it, you can be identified and imprisoned.

As you can see, we’re in a vice and the people who have concocted it are intent on using it to squeeze any financial, medical or nutritional freedom out of your lives.

What to do?

Clearly, this is the separation I spoke of at the beginning. It’s now incumbent upon all of us who wish to remain unvaxxed, free to spend and free to eat what we want to start separating from the federal power in Washington. Local, local, local has been stressed many times and it’s for just this situation that it was preached.

TL goes on from there to offer several practical suggestions for how one might go about insulating and isolating oneself from the machinations and manipulations of an evil, tyrannical central government in a disintegrating nation, all of which seem to me to be soild, worthwhile policies to follow at any time, all the more so in these End ones.

Update! Dave Renegade is also readying himself for life apres le deluge.

I am living my life according to my belief that the economy has collapsed and the government is planning to start WWIII. That means the US dollar is worthless and I am buying supplies and other items necessary for this future.

  1. I visit the local feed store in Murphy, NC on a regular basis. I have noticed a large increase in feed supplies (they are storing feed in the parking lot) over what has been stored in previous years. I also noticed that the volume of customers has increased to the point that parking is now like bumper cars. People park as they want regardless of whether they are blocking other cars/trucks in place. It was so bad yesterday, a small truck from Florida parked in back of my truck as he bought 14 trees. I bought 5 fruit trees and I estimate that they will sell 200 trees in less than two days.
  2. I went to a nursery to look for more pecan trees. Any tree over 4 feet was over $100. The nursery’s parking lot was the busiest that I have ever seen.
  3. I have bought a complete set of replacement fluids and filters for my tractor. I went to the Kubota dealership to do the same for my excavator. Imagine my surprise when this large dealership had to order hydraulic filters to complete my order.
  4. Baby chicks are selling out at farm stores faster than Joe Biden can eat an ice cream cone.

I saw a message today that based on economic conditions, everyone should start acting like a “prepper”. The message should have said: Everyone who is over 50 should start acting as our grandparents. The rest can act as their great grandparents acted.

As reality is sinking in, I am glad to see that people are acting responsibly instead of cowering in fear. I do not know when we will stand up to the evil that has usurped our government but we can use this time wisely.

It looks more and more as if we may not really have to do much in the way of standing up to ‘em after all; as the impending collapse of TWAWKI (The World As We Knew It)™ continues apace, could be we can all just sit back pointing and laughing as it all comes crashing down around the ears of those who brought it about.

Musk ain’t having any

I swear, my boy Elon just keeps getting more red-pilled every day, seems like.

BBC Journo Quits Musk Interview After Elon Pushes Back On ‘Hateful Content,’ ‘Misinformation’
Twitter CEO and African-American billionaire Elon Musk yesterday sat down with BBC “journalist” James Clayton for an interview, where the two had a now-viral argument over Twitter’s alleged rise in “hateful content,” as well as Twitter’s COVID “misinformation” policy changes.

During their conversation, Clayton, without any evidence to back himself up, claimed that Musk’s acquisition of the company has resulted in “a rise in hateful content.”

“Content you don’t like or hateful, describe a hateful thing?” Musk asked.

Clayton replied, “I mean you know just content that will elicit a reaction, something I mean something that is slightly racist or slightly sexist, those kinds of things.”

“So you think if something is slightly sexist it should be banned?” Musk retorted. “No, I’m not saying anything,” said Clayton.

“I’m asking for examples. Can you name one example?” Musk said. “Honestly I honestly–” Clayton began before Musk interjected: “Can you name a single example?”

“I’ll tell you why,” the BBC wordsmith said. “Because I don’t actually use that feed anymore because I don’t particularly like it. Actually, a lot of people are quite similar.”

At this point, the journalist cited his lack of interest in Twitter’s “For You” feed as his reason for being unable to cite a single example of hate speech. Musk, unimpressed, ultimately accused the reporter of lying.

Musk replied, “Wait a second, you said you’ve seen more hateful content, but you can’t name a single example, not even one.”

“I’m not sure I used that feed for the last three or four weeks,” Clayton said. “Then how did you see the hateful content?” said Musk.

“Really!?” Clayton cried. “Yes, because you can’t give a single example of hateful content not even one tweet, and yet you’ve claimed the hateful content was high. That’s a false,” Musk explained.

“No,” replied Clayton. “You just lied,” Musk said.

Eventually, Clayton abruptly left the interview, leaving Musk alone to field questions from the audience.

Just as well, really; Elon was WAY more likely to field some halfway-intelligent questions from the audience than he ever would have from a hack propagandist like the “journalist” he handily cut up into pieces-parts. Well done, sir, and good on ya. Now do NPR, while you’re taking care of the light work. Oh wait, he just did.

Elon Musk Reaches Limit, Calls For Defunding NPR: “What hypocrites”
Twitter CEO Elon Musk is calling for defunding NPR after the broadcaster had a meltdown and quit Twitter because Musk is calling them ‘State-affiliated media and Government-funded Media.’ NPR said it will no longer post fresh content to its 52 official Twitter feeds.

NPR cited Twitter’s decision to first label the network “state-affiliated media,” the same term it uses for propaganda outlets in Russia, China and other autocratic countries for making this extraordinary decision. Twitter drives impressions to NPR and after the broadcaster had to institute layoffs you would think they would be thanking Musk.

Musk fired back saying:

“NPR literally said “Federal funding is essential to public radio” on their own website (now taken down).

“What hypocrites!

“Defund NPR.”

Okay, I think I may have just ejaculated in my pants a little bit here.

Delenda est

Alternate reality, that’s where the shitlibs dwell.

It’s not that they are ignorant; it’s that so much of what they know isn’t so
In his famous speech “A Time for Choosing” Ronald Reagan hit the nail on the head about liberals: they have strong opinions based upon complete falsehoods.

This struck me once again as I read a report from The Skeptic Research Center. The goal of the Center is to do research into what people think and provide basic information to increase people’s knowledge regarding important issues of the day. I just ran across this particular piece of research and it caught my eye. You will see why in a minute.

The study in question has to do with Americans’ understanding of race and policing, and the results were rather stunning. It boils down to this: Americans haven’t a clue about the basic facts and liberals in particular live in a world completely divorced from reality.

What we see in the chart is that 22% of liberals think that 10,000 or more unarmed black men are shot by police officers every year. Almost 55% believe that 1000 to 10 or more thousand are gunned down every year.

The answer is 12 in 2019, and 11 in 2020. That doesn’t equate to being a bit inaccurate. It is not being in the same universe as the truth.

Conservatives overestimate the numbers, although about half of them get it right and the rest are not nearly as wrong as the liberals.

Liberals know a lot, but so much of it is simply not true. In no universe is 12 close to 1000-10,000.

This pattern, I am certain, is duplicated across the issues, and my educated guess as to why has to do with trust in the mainstream media. The media creates panic as a matter of course; it is their business model, after all. And since they are liberals they like to create panics that push people to adopt liberal positions.

So they dramatize problems they feel strongly about and create the impression that a problem that bothers them is an existential crisis for the country or the world.

Another factor, besides believing the news media, in liberals being so wrong is that they actually want to believe that certain things are true despite having little to no evidence that they are. They call this “following The Science™,” by which they mean following the witch doctors. They invent facts out of thin air and repeat them endlessly in order to create a reality that doesn’t exist.

And why wouldn’t they, for Pete’s sake? Reality as it actually exists would have to be extremely unpleasant for them, even quite painful, utterly demolishing as it does nearly all of their most cherished beliefs. Which in turn means that, far from being the most intelligent, informed Über-beings on the face of the earth as they consider themselves to be, shitlibs are only delusional asshats—batshit lunatics whose unhinged opinions inspire not awe and respect, but pity and contempt.

Far from being Sages for the Ages, they’re more in line with your average stinking-blotto, muttering street bum, tugging at your sleeve and begging for spare change as you hurry away from his crazy ass, trying to put some distance between you before he flips the fuck out completely and gets violent.

Which, y’know, is another thing shitlibs tend to do, especially these days.

Much, much more at the link—and the hell of it is, you know it’s only the tip of a very large iceberg. Via WeirdDave, who follows up thusly:

I saw another poll that asked what percentage of the population was gay. The most common answer from liberals was between 20-30% (I do not have a link, I am citing from memory). This is the flaw in our system as envisioned by the founders. They never dreamed of a society where the populace was not uninformed, but deliberately misinformed, by a media and educational bureaucracy perverted to perform the opposite of their intended functions.

If they HAD dreamed of such, it would’ve been a nightmare—the scary, sweaty kind you just can’t seem to wake up from, that stays in your head the whole stinkin’ day afterwards.

You LOST, get over it

IMPORTANT NOTE TO HER HERNESS™: Nobody likes you. Nobody wants you. Why? Because you’re ten pounds of worm-riddled shit crammed into a five-pound sack made out of diseased-rat fur, that’s why.

And THAT, you evil, self-absorbed cuntbitch, is nobody’s fault but your own.

Hillary Clinton tries explaining how Douglass Mackey and his evil memes cost her the election
Hillary Clinton simply cannot accept America didn’t want her. And this latest nonsense where Douglass Mackey and his memes somehow interfered in the 2016 election is just more fodder for her bruised, wrinkled, evil ego. Did Mackey make some stupid memes? Oh yeah. But does any sane, logical person really think these memes kept Hillary from winning?

C’mon.

Watch her try and explain how evil it was, snidely pretending THIS is what cost her the election. Not that the most unpopular GOP candidate in modern history was still more popular than she was.

We used to think nobody’s voice would be more annoying and cringe-inducing than Obama’s…we were wrong. So wrong.

And how. But, as Alexander Pope famously said, to err is human, to forgive divine. Which, neither “human” nor “divine” are concepts Her Herness™ knows anything whatsoever about, as we all too well know.

Greasy beans

In case you were worrying that the Chinese might take over the entire world: don’t.

As my friend brack quipped when I texted this one to him earlier, at least it went down easy.

Poor girl, hope she didn’t try a PBJ made with Vaseline petroleum jelly next. But of course, I suppose that’s what KY is made from also, so I guess she pretty much already did.

Update! That last joke of mine got me to thinking, and as it happens KY is NOT petroleum-based at all. In fact, the no-petroleum, water-based formula is KY’s biggest selling point. Never having used it myself, I didn’t know that before now.

Too smart for Fauci up in the ‘hood

Lying “Little Mengele” gets himself a schooling from an everyday schlub who simply ain’t having any of Fauci’s bullshit.

Don’t miss a minute of it; it’s one of those truly golden moments you only see so many of in a single lifetime.

At the very end, L’il Mengele is so damned flustered by this all-American show of open defiance he has to break out his bottle of what my mom always called “nerve pills” to calm himself down and quell the fear and anger surging through him as a result of this dude’s righteous, scrumptiously-direct upbraiding. Heartfelt kudos to him, and to all like him who have stood up to the scurvy tyrants in one way or another: refusing to wear the Mask Of Submission; defying lockdowns; refusing to heed illegal edicts; or simply getting all up in their face and telling them, NO.

Calls for a celebratory rock and roll classic, I believe.

From The Who’s first “farewell show” in Toronto back in ’82, which has to be one of the very best live recordings I ever did see. If the vid of Pete Townsend’s immortal magnum opus won’t show up for you here, which it probably won’t, be sure to click thru to YewToob and watch. You won’t be sorry you did, trust me.

Update! The whole concert can be viewed here. As I said, it’s close to two hours of time VERY well spent.

Anatomy of a Great Schism, v2.0

ZMan has a look in on all this Trump/DeSantis nonsense.

Ron Versus Don
The basic argument from the DeSantis partisans is that he has a chance to win the general election, while Trump has no chance. More important, DeSantis knows how to govern, which he has proven in Florida. There is no doubt that he has been a great governor for Florida. He also has a very friendly state legislature, which makes it simple for him to get things done. There is no data to suggest he has a better shot against Biden than Trump, but that is the claim.

The truth is electability has never been a factor in these races. Most voters are not like most Republican politicians in that they do not negotiate with themselves. They vote for the candidate they like, not the candidate that a conservative commentator swears will be acceptable to the Democrats. Even if their preferred option has no chance in the general, most voters will go for the guy who speaks to them. It turns out that most people are decent and honest, not scheming weasels.

That is the argument for Trump. Despite his faults, and he has many, he represents those decent and honest people. He is a symbol, more than a candidate. Supporting Trump is about opposing the people who rule over us. It is as close as we get in America to class warfare. Trump’s voters are the great unwashed, the forgotten Americans who hate what has happened to their country. Trump is not the solution, but he makes noise on their behalf. That is enough.

Both camps are right in the same way that two people who have different favorite ice creams are right, even though they disagree. There is no empirical argument in favor of either guy as it is purely a matter of opinion. Pedro Gonzales is mad at Trump for not being the savior he hoped for in 2016, so he is has jumped on the DeSantis side, while Scott Greer still loves Trump and now hates DeSantis. Their arguments in favor of their guy are cognitively meaningless.

That said, we can assess the electability claim. The place to start is the 2020 election broken out by electoral votes. All of those national polls that people wave around are meaningless as we pick presidents by indirect election. In the last election, Biden won 303 electoral votes, while Trump got 235. The threshold to win is 270. There were a lot of shenanigans in the 2020 election, but they were repeated in 2022, so we have to treat them as a feature, rather than a bug.

He goes on to do some juggling with the state-by-state math of the thing, and the sum of the equation is necessarily neither pretty nor reassuring.

What this tells us is the odds for a Republican win are awfully long. They have to win states that are mostly in the other camp by default. Then they have to defend their own states, some of which are trending the wrong way. The Yankee invasion of North Carolina is turning the state into Virginia. Texas is slowly becoming California as those weirdos arrive in droves. Barring some sort of black swan event, Joe Biden will cruise to victory in 2024 no matter his opponent.

What this says is that the choice for Republicans is not centered on electability, but who they prefer to see lose in 2024. The neocons and conservatives prefer to see Trump lose, but they are so full of hatred of white people now, they will root against him in the primary, even if it works against their interests. The DeSantis fans are coming around to the same view, thinking that Trump is some sort of bad juju that must be exorcised in order to return to the 1980’s.

For dissidents, it is a different question. DeSantis is a good governor and it would be better if he finished the job and set an example for others. We do not need another too nice to win loser presidential candidate. Trump is a crazy man who sends the bad guys into paroxysms of vengeful hysteria. He was a lousy president, but he has proven to be a great wrecking ball. His revenge tour, especially if he is indicted, will be the mother of all crap shows. A good time will be had by all.

I’m with him on that. Read on to the very end; Z’s conclusion—“there is no path forward in the current system”—is dead accurate, as well as damned unsettling. I wish there was a credible counterargument to be made, but honestly, there isn’t. No honest, genuine candidate intent on real reform will ever again be “elected” President. Should one somehow manage an end-run against the rigged process and prevail, against all odds, he will be thwarted by the Shadow State apparat entire right from Day One. If you want Unity, well, you’ll certainly see some then—all you ever wanted to see of it, and then some.

Update! Bill is slightly more optimistic—at least, this is what passes for optimism in these dark, parlous days.

I think this is probably right, at least for America right now. But I don’t think the current situation will maintain for that much longer. There are too many systemic, technological, and generational forces at work reshaping our nation, and it is by no means certain that the nation as presently constituted will survive them, especially since they will be coming to a head over the next six years or so.

Which means that we may have only one more “normal” election cycle before all hell breaks loose. So don’t place any long-term bets on what that red and blue map says today. It may not even exist for the 2026 and 2028 elections. And although we can’t see them clearly (yet), I have to assume there is a whole flock of black swans flapping around out there, looking for places to come home to roost.

Yep. In times like this, the one and only thing we can know for sure is that we won’t know for sure until we find ourselves right smack in the middle of it. Not a particularly cheering thought, but it’s the best we’re going to get. As all the cool kids like to say nowadays, it is what it is.

If that isn’t what the cool kids say, please don’t tell me, aiight? Ahem.

Did The Enemy just blink?

Doubtful, since ultimately, they’ll be back for another bite as sure as the sun rises. Nonetheless, as you’ve all no doubt heard by now, there were indeed some seriously, umm, interesting developments yesterday and today in the ongoing persecution of President Donald J Trump.

Hold Everything: Now Trump Will Likely NOT Be Arrested, at Least on Tuesday
Donald Trump announced on Saturday morning that he would be arrested on Tuesday, and the nation has been agog at the prospect of the Leftist establishment crossing the rubicon of arresting its principal opponent on flimsy charges and demonstrating before the entire world that the American republic is now the American banana republic, in which foes of the regime can expect the full weight of corrupt government authority pushing back against them for daring to dissent.

But now it turns out that the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which has Trump in its sights, just may be stepping back from the brink: Business Insider reported Saturday night that Trump’s indictment is “on hold” until one more witness testifies Monday afternoon.

That’s about all that has come to light, as the relevant authorities are being quite closemouthed about this whole thing. Insider says that “a source with knowledge of the investigation” told them on Saturday night “there is one more witness.” The indictment is apparently not a certainty until this witness testifies.

But who is this witness? The Insider’s source wouldn’t say, and so all that we’re told is that “a separate source, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, told Insider that the witness is not Allen Weisselberg, Trump’s former CFO, who is serving a five-month sentence for admittedly masterminding a payroll tax-dodge scheme at the Trump Organization.”

Meanwhile, Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen, whose betrayal of his former client started this whole business about Trump having paid hush money to a porn star (which is what he might be arrested for, not any of the literally dozens of other crimes that Democrats have claimed he has committed over the last few years, up to and including trying to overthrow the government of the United States), “has told reporters he expected to be the grand jury’s final witness when he testified last Monday and Wednesday.” So whoever is slated to appear on Monday is a surprise witness.

Insider notes that the grand jury “could conceivably reach a vote” on whether or not actually to indict Trump for trying to buy a hooker’s silence “by the end of Monday’s three-hour session,” but that’s not likely to happen, as “experts” say that “there are several steps between the final testimony and the vote.”

More on the scumbag Cohen’s erstwhile colleague, who was to testify today.

BREAKING: Ex-Michael Cohen attorney set to testify MONDAY with new ‘exculpatory’ evidence that could VINDICATE Trump
Yeah about that Trump arrest? Guess what: a lawyer who worked for Michael Cohen has apparently contacted Trump’s current attorneys with information that he says is “exculpatory” in the puffed up case against Trump in New York.

Here’s more from the Washington Examiner:

A lawyer who once worked for Michael Cohen is reportedly expected to testify Monday before a Manhattan grand jury investigating former President Donald Trump.

Robert Costello is expected to deliver testimony following a request from Trump’s lawyers as prosecutors weigh possible criminal charges against the former president, the Wall Street Journal reported. Costello gave advice to Cohn during an FBI raid on his home and office back in 2018. Prosecutors have also requested Cohen remain available Monday.

Costello’s testimony is significant because he previously recounted that Cohen told him that he paid adult film star Stormy Daniels in order to protect Melania Trump and that Cohen sought a pardon from Trump, per the Wall Street Journal. Cohen has already waived the attorney-client privilege with Costello.

“already waived the attorney-client privilege”

Uh-oh, buddy. That’s gonna bite you right in the butt, dummy, lol. Oh and by the way, Costello was also an attorney for Steve Bannon at some point. Not sure what that has to do with anything but it’s interesting.

Gonna be a very interesting week all over, y’all.

It would seem so, yeah. Back over to Spencer for the sobering last word.

The Left’s reaction to Donald Trump’s political career has from the beginning been a classic case of a conviction in search of a crime. Charging their foes with bogus crimes is a venerable and tested Leftist tactic, going back to Stalin’s trials of his former Bolshevik comrades, whom he forced to confess to various fabricated charges of subversion in order to justify his executing them and consolidating his power as an unquestioned autocrat.

In the U.S., the Democrats enjoyed tremendous gains in both houses of Congress and won the presidency on the strength of Watergate, and they’ve never forgotten that lesson; in fact, tarring their opponents as criminals on bogus charges has become a cornerstone of their political strategy. And that is a prelude to treating them like actual criminals, complete with arrests, handcuffs, and perp walks. Whether or not it comes Tuesday, it’s coming.

Yep, count on it. I repeat: as sure as the sun rises. It’s so for Trump, it’s so for Trump’s family, and it’ll be so for any and every other nonconformist, pro-American dissident with the temerity to defy the D卐M☭CRATs and run for Prexy, let alone somehow find a way to overcome the ironclad Margin Of Fraud and win.

I do hope Ron DeSantis is watching all this very carefully, and bearing closely in mind that it’s exactly what will be done to him too should he accede to the intense pressure he’s getting from the Left, the NeverTrumpTards, and the other Vichy GOPe shitstains to run for the useless show-office. He’s perfectly within his rights to do so if he likes, and there’s not a thing wrong with that, I still maintain. But he’d be a damned fool to, if you ask me.

Update! For my money, JJ has the right of it. Mostly.

While Spencer’s observation is certainly true, the state of the nation today is markedly different from the Watergate era. Divided as we were even back then, there was still a level of trust in the institutions and traditions of the American governmental and legal system, as well as in the media, and even with diametrically opposed views on the issues of the day, still at least a modicum of respect for those with whom you disagree and the commonality of nation and heritage. Today, that has all but vanished on every front. In fact, an overwhelming percentage of the American people believe that we have a two-tiered justice system that favors those in power and the Left in general.

Whatever the calculus of the junta in going after Trump, they will only succeed in making him into a martyr. I have not been sanguine about a Trump candidacy in 2024. My biggest negatives are his age, his puerile name-calling against DeSantis, and most distressing, his making the theft of the 2020 election the central pillar of his campaign. He’s had some flashes of brilliance with his trade package and his intent to go to war against woke-ism in all its forms. But so far, his negatives outweigh the positives. YMMV, but I think a lot of people are feeling this way about him.

But that said, I have always thought of him as the leader of a movement that goes way beyond mere electoral politics. In fact, it’s kind of strange to read Miranda Devine’s analysis insofar as the Democrat calculus of preferring to face Trump rather than DeSantis for fear of him wiping the floor with Biden or whoever, since they regard Trump to be a pushover. Considering they have all but institutionalized election fraud in the key swing districts and states they stole in 2020, what does it matter who is running?

For me, this has less if anything to do with who the candidate is in 2024 than mere distraction and above all else, retribution against Donald Trump. That’s what all this is about.

Love him, hate him or whatever, Donald Trump intentionally or not started a movement that exposed the hypocrisy and corruption that has now completely subsumed our government and much of our society. Whatever they do to him or try to do to him, what he started will not be stopped. There is no going back now to the way things were. A lot of it was a lie, and there are powerful forces and more alarmingly a great deal of the citizenry duped into or otherwise consciously supporting the transformation of America into a socialist disaster to be served up to the Davos-Brussels-Beijing Axis, or perhaps a resurgent Islamic global caliphate.

So, go ahead and slap the cuffs on Trump. It worked so well for the British when they did it to Gandhi, didn’t it?

As bitterly cynical as I’ve become nowadays, I wouldn’t expect any such felicitous outcome in Trump’s case, if only because present-day Amerikans are much too soft, too spoiled, and too cozened to display the kind of balls-to-the-wall courage Gandhi and his legions of followers did back then.

On the other hand, though, it’s become near-axiomatic among serious (ie, non-shitlib) students of history that Gandhi was fortunate in that his British opposition was civilized and reserved, and exercised forbearance and restraint—well, eventually, at any rate, after some pretty brutal beatings and mass imprisonment—in dealing with the movement Gandhi represented.

Had it been, say, Stalin instead, things might well have worked out very, very differently for Mohandas K Gandhi and his campaign for Indian national independence. And our present-day dictatorship bears a much closer resemblance to Stalin’s own than it does British PM Ramsay MacDonald’s and Chancellor Neville Chamberlain’s colonially-exhausted, war-weary nation circa the late 20s/early 30s.

Auguring in

Trump underestimated the nature and scope of the evil he’s up against, severely, and now they’re finally going to get him.

Trump’s Attorney: Trump Will Surrender To Authorities If He Is Criminally Charged
Former President Donald Trump will surrender to law enforcement officials if he is indicted by a Manhattan grand jury in connection with a $130,000 hush money payment he allegedly made to porn actress Stormy Daniels, according to Trump’s attorney.

The remarks from attorney Joseph Tacopina come in response to a report from NBC News that said federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies were analyzing security assessments and making plans to prepare for the possibility that Trump will be indicted as early as next week.

Fox News reported that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office asked for a meeting with law enforcement officials to “discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean that they are anticipating an indictment next week.”

Tacopina told the New York Daily News that if Trump is indicted, “there won’t be a standoff at Mar-a-Lago with Secret Service and the Manhattan DA’s office.”

Tacopina later told CNBC that they “will follow normal procedures if it gets to that point.”

“Normal procedures”—BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thou fool. From Trump’s Truth Social feed, via Barry (no direct link, since I don’t have an account there and have no interest in signing up for one, so the link is to Barry’s comment—thanks, Bar!):

OUR NATION IS NOW THIRD WORLD & DYING. THE AMERICAN DREAM IS DEAD! THE RADICAL LEFT ANARCHISTS HAVE STOLLEN OUR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, AND WITH IT, THE HEART OF OUR OUR COUNTRY. AMERICAN PATRIOTS ARE BEING ARRESTED & HELD IN CAPTIVITY LIKE ANIMALS, WHILE CRIMINALS & LEFTIST THUGS ARE ALLOWED TO ROAM THE STREETS, KILLING & BURNING WITH NO RETRIBUTION. MILLIONS ARE FLOODING THROUGH OUR OPEN BOARDERS, MANY FROM PRISONS & MENTAL INSTITUTIONS. CRIME & INFLATION ARE DESTROYING OUR VERY WAY OF LIFE…

Page 2: NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!

Which, without violence, is simply not on the table. When Trump goes to prison, I don’t expect him to last very long before somebody Epsteins his ass. Next, Melania, Don Jr, and the rest of his family need to be continually checking six, because you can be sure they’re next in line for the exact same treatment from the Überstadt.

And then…well, we shall see what we shall see, I suppose.

The evidence is all in, a surfeit and then some of it, the case closed once and for all. This is yet another reminder that, just as I’ve said over and over: clearly, they do NOT fear us. They need to be reminded—forcefully, explicitly, and beyond all doubt or debate—that there might still be good reason for them to. Until such time, it’s only going to get worse.

Update! Another reminder, for Trump, his family, and pretty much everybody else.

‘Nuff said.

Updated update! Dave Renegade sums it up quite well.

The lines are still being drawn in terms of a civil war but only as action is concerned. The lines defined by the division sowed by the other side to weaken and take over the Republic are entrenched. Once the first shot is fired, the people who have been marginalized, have had their country, rights and Liberty stolen, and their health attacked will not stop. This is not a call to action; this is just reality. How do you feel about this illegal government and out of control justice system? This is no longer a rhetorical question.

We may not be able to stop what is coming but we surely do not have to submit to an evil tyranny.

Amen to that, brother.

Wheels within wheels within wheels update! Might this be what it’s really all about? Twitchy says it’s right on cue.

Did somebody in the Biden network decide to give Rob Reiner and the anti-Trump Resistance an early Christmas gift? Also this could indicate that Biden and the “justice” department (with help from New York libs) really want Trump to be the GOP nominee. However, the Left’s narrative has gone from “Trump committed treason by colluding with Russia to steal a U.S. election” to “OK, maybe not but he did pay some hush money to a former adult film star.”

Could be, could be. The one thing we know with absolute certainty about these filthy swine is that we can put nothing whatsoever past them. There is no trifling, petty skullduggery to which they will not stoop, no low too low for them to sink to. Anyone still kidding themselves that, “Oh, they wouldn’t DARE do this or that,” for any conceivable value of “this or that,” is hereby formally urged to just wake the fuck up already.

Greta Thunberg Threatens to Hold Her Breath Until Evil World Leaders Capitulate To Her Demands

MFNS – After the utter embarrassment of the uncovering of a recent deleted 2018 tweet predicting the world could no longer be saved in 2023, the provocative pig tailed propaganda purveyor of climate panic, far left activist Greta Thunberg, has put the world on notice that she intends to hold her breath until her climate change demands to stop using fossil fuels are met she told the press.

“I will hold my breath until you evil rat bastards capitulate to my demands. Failure to do so will result in my demise as well as mother Earth and you will burn in HELL!

Do You Understand!!??”

For a little background:

In June of 2018, the high school dropout tweeted a quote from an article predicting, “climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.” In other words, the point of no return is 2023. In other words, nothing can be done if we do not stop using fossil fuels by 2023.

Well, if nothing can be done, that means the entire environmental movement might as well pack up and go home.

This is the 54th prediction these enviro-fascists have had to take back. 54 dire predictions about the environment, and not one of them—not one!—has come true. The environmental movement is 0-54. We should all eat bugs, give up our air conditioning, and turn to socialism due to climate change (which is a hoax) because this 0-54 group says so?? What’s more, should we take this weird, little scold who didn’t finish high school seriously? – John Nolte

Greta took no questions as she then excused herself to rush to meet her reservations for a first class, climate controlled private compartment on mass transit powered by fossil fuel produced electricity to continue the fourth year of her ‘How Dare You’ tour.

The Nolte column cited above includes, purely in the interest of fair play, this non-comprehensive list:

Now SWEEPING the nation!

The greatest television show ever created. Well, excepting Firefly, of course.

As Ace notes, “Apparently the Osundairo brothers are amusing hosts and naturals on camera.” They are indeed—quite personable, glib, and just damned funny as all hell, as the above vid amply demonstrates. Mo’ bettah:

Brothers in Jussie Smollett hoax break silence, say actor wanted to be ‘poster child for activism’
Abimbola “Bola” and Olabinjo “Ola” Osundairo speak to media for the first time in ‘Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax,’ streaming now on Fox Nation

Early in the morning hours of a polar vortex in January 2019, FOX’s “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett claimed two White supremacist Trump supporters attacked him near his Chicago apartment in a racially-motivated hate crime that would soon incite outrage from activists and the media.

It’s the “hate crime” that dominated headlines, but facts proved none of it was true.

In December 2021, the now-40-year-old actor and singer was convicted of five felony counts of disorderly conduct. One year ago, he was sentenced in March 2022 to 150 days in county jail.

Forgive me for saying so, but ol’ Juisseh (hey, that’s the way I’ve always pronounced it, just ’cause I think it’s funnier that way, no other reason) being both black and a rump-ranger, I have a hard time picturing jail as any kind of real hardship for him. A deee-luxe vacation, a rest-cure, more like.

Yes, I know, I know, I’m a homophobic racist bigoted racist H8RRRR.

I DENOUNCE MYSELF…!!!

I DID mention the Osundairos are quite personable and funny, right? Why yes, I believe I did at that.

“You know Eddie Johnson [former Chicago Police Superintendent] said he could tell in the footage that you guys are Black, right?” an off-camera interviewer asked the brothers.

“Really?” Ola asked. “I feel like he’s just saying that… we were in character the whole time.”

“So you think you guys are believable White supremacists?” the interviewer pressed.

“One hundred percent! Look at me,” Bola laughed. Chicago Police released images of the incident shortly after it took place, but Johnson said the initially released image of two silhouettes walking shoulder-to-shoulder down the snowy Chicago street was not the best image they had at the time.

Watch the vid, read it all. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.

Update! In comments, Aesop says: “Chapelle dealt with the whole incident better in 3½ minutes than the entire woketarded media did in 3½ months, and distilled that @$$hole’s entire career down to a single punchline.” And he’s right about that.

Many thanks for that gem of a find, Aesop.

Of sowing, and of reaping

Bitter fruits of a poisoned tree.

The predictable economic fallout of lockdown policy
The decision to lockdown the world had consequences and we’ll continue to see them unfold for some time. Can we really expect those who caused these problems to save us from them?

Lockdowns caused unprecedented disruption to the world’s economy and global supply chain, and the largest upward transfer of wealth in history.

Widespread business closures due to lockdowns caused mass layoffs of, primarily, hourly wage workers with little to no savings. Then the government spent money that we did not have so people could pay their rent and not starve. And then they did it again.

Of course, this caused inflation. Then the Fed raised interest rates to halt the inflation.

And now we are experiencing the ensuing disaster that is unfolding in real time. And the little guy is left holding the bag whether through exorbitant pricing of basic necessities like milk and eggs or small business investors wondering when and if they’ll be able to extract their money from SVB to pay their employees and vendors.

No, I’m not a banker. But it’s easy to see what happened and that’s the rough outline in the simplest possible terms.

You can’t shut the world down and think there will not be consequences. You just can’t.

As some pitiful handful of us warned at the time, no, you most certainly can NOT. Contra the vainglory of our über-arrogant Ruling Class dolts, an incomprehensibly complex, first-world economy can’t be simply turned off and then back on again, like a light switch. Why, whodathunkit? Those shouting-at-a-brick-wall warnings went all unheeded, when we who issued them weren’t being vilified outright, by the selfsame panic-ninny pissants now mewling for “amnesty” for themselves from those of us who had the right of it all along.

Um, yeah, NO. Sorry, not fucking happening; not from here it ain’t, not now, not ever. As a practical alternative, may I suggest that you all go take yourselves a flying fuck at a plate glass window instead. I do SO look forward to seeing how well that works out for you, truly I do.

All of this happened — lockdowns forcing small business closures — while corporate employees worked from home and screeched “we’re all in this together” while ordering Uber Eats, watching Netflix and working kinda, sorta sometimes. And of course, while continuing to take their salaries and bonuses and stock payouts. And continuing to do so to this day.

No company dared speak out against lockdowns. I can’t think of a single one. Instead, they laid people off with “empathy”, gave them two weeks salary and continued advocating in support of lockdowns — or at the very least going along with them, staying silent — knowing that the bill was coming.

Why didn’t ANY companies say anything against lockdowns when they knew what was inevitably coming?

Because the “woke” view — the this is what good people do view — was: lockdown forever until no covid. That was caring. Anything else was “only caring about money,” being greedy, racist, eugenicist, evil. And companies, whether they agreed with lockdowns or not, were burnishing their image as good and caring.

But in reality, the actual empathetic position would have been to challenge the logic and efficacy (or better said: assert the illogic and ineffectiveness) of lockdowns. And to advocate for opening. To let people work. To allow everyday people to earn a living, just as those in corporate were, as C-suiters were. Executives and corporate leaders shouted Stay home save lives! while staying home where they could carry on with their jobs and doing nothing to ensure that others could actually carry on with theirs.

And now the FauxVid-hoax chickens are coming home to roost, heavily settling, claws-out, onto the shoulders of the just and the unjust alike. As was always inevitable—a fact which bestows not even the coldest of comfort upon those of us who saw it all coming, right from the very beginning.

And so here we are. Millions were pushed into poverty globally, all in pursuit of zero covid, or at the very least avoidance of a respiratory virus as the only thing that mattered. It’s the insane myopia that got us here, and now there’s a panicked scrambling to ensure that it doesn’t get even worse for regular folks than it’s already been.

And still, the lockdown-ers insist, we just didn’t lockdown hard enough. And some, like Forbes, are making the case that we need rolling lockdowns from here on out.

When will we learn? The predictable economic fallout of locking down the world had consequences and we’ll continue to see them unfold for some time. It seems unlikely that the ones who created these problems are the ones who will be able to solve them.

As I’ve also insisted from the start, the lockdowns, the masks, the “social distancing”—We Duh Peepul having so readily, even eagerly, submitted to them once already—will be with us forever, to be dusted off and trotted out as and when, under whatever contrived justification, until such time as we decisively and unequivocally reject them en masse. They proved far too useful a suite of tools for the dimestore dictators, tinhorn tyrants, and midwit Mussolinis who would lord over us to just blithely discard without a real fight. Which makes the truly apposite question here not “WHEN will we learn,” but IF.

Jump you fuckers!

Ladies and gents, may I present what really ought to be our new national anthem.

Against all odds, the vid does have a happy ending after all, so stay tuned for it. Via WRSA, who has also thoughtfully included a transcription of the lyrics in toto for your enjoyment and edification.
