Know thine enemy, Part the Whothehellevenknowsanymore

Steyn weighs in—brilliantly, as per usual.

What They Wanted
Well, I guess the narrative has moved on to the next plot twist. As Joe Biden said just a few days ago:

We’re done talking about the debate. It’s time to put Trump in the bullseye.

It wasn’t quite a bullseye: the bullet struck his ear.

The other night my youngest expressed a wish to see The Manchurian Candidate – the original, of course. And, as great as it is, its famous ending seemed an artifact of a lost and somewhat innocent age: a man is able to stroll into a political rally and access easily a high-up vantage point with a direct line of sight to the nominee.

Couldn’t happen now.

And yet it just did.

Which, pardon my excessive cynicism and all, to me smells like a dead halibut on the centerline of a Texas blacktop in the middle of an August heatwave. More on that stinky, shady angle later, probably.

At the very minimum, this is a catastrophic security failure by the Secret Service. Nine years ago, in a considerably less insane America, my kids and I attended a Trump rally in Burlington, Vermont. I warned them beforehand to travel light because they’d have to go through security, but, unbeknownst to me, that afternoon one of them had been ambling along the street after school, espied a tennis ball in good condition on the ground, picked it up and put it in his pocket. The Secret Service at the Flynn Theatre confiscated it, the agent sternly demanding of my son: “Who takes a tennis ball to a political rally?”

And yet Thomas Matthew Crooks took his AR-15 to a political rally. And the reason he was permitted to do so is because he was “outside the security perimeter” …yet still within range of the candidate’s head.

Does that make sense even by the arseholian standards of the federal government? Even were one to accept it as a good-faith mistake, no prudent person would entrust his life to the same United States Government that wants him broke, gaoled and/or dead. From Sean Davis at The Federalist:

BREAKING: A source familiar with Trump’s security detail tells @FDRLST that the former and future president’s detail has been asking for beefed up protection and resources for weeks, but has been rebuffed time and again by Biden’s DHS.

Robert F Kennedy Jr, whose father and uncle have already taken bullets for their country, has likewise “been rebuffed time and again by Biden’s DHS” – for any protection. It’s almost as if whoever’s actually running the so-called “Biden Administration” has concluded that a descent into blood and carnage would play to their advantage.

This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Just a decade ago, Trump was an amiable bipartisan non-ideological telly-celeb schmoozing with Bill and Hill and doing cameos in Home Alone sequels. The Democrats chose to upgrade him to Hitler – complete with moustache.

Oh, but say what you want, trying to kill the candidate isn’t like January 6th, is it?

And, just for the record, Saturday night was not an assassination attempt: One Republican voter was killed, and at least two others are injured. That’s to say, an American family has had a great big hole blown in its heart – because on a summer afternoon they went to a campaign rally.

Just another day in the United States’ uniquely unique “peaceful transfer of power” – and on to next week…

…when the D卐M☭CRATs and pet Enemedia poodles will be striving mightily to find a big enough rug to sweep yesterday’s atrocity under for good, doubt ye not. We can not, we MUST not, allow that to happen—at not only Trump’s great peril, but our own as well.

Oh, and that Hitler image Mark mentioned? That would be this execrable piece of blatant incitement to violence, which I dl’d last night myself with intentions of posting it here at some point:

Whatever list you might be making—don’t tell me, I do NOT want to know, kindly do NOT feed the glowniggers, thenkyew—make sure you have the New Republic on there, preferably up near the tippy-tip-top.

Know thine enemy, Part the Fourth

Oh, how I’ve been looking forward to Aesop’s take. Needless to say, he doesn’t disappoint.

Dear Leftard Communist Cocksuckers,

You’ve been shrieking and flinging your diaper spackle for nearly ten years, hyperventilating like whiny little bitches about Cheetoh Hitler, “a threat to Democracy”, and any number of further delusional psychotic jackassical reactions, all because you can’t stand the fact that half the country disagrees with you politically, and no one from mommy onwards ever explained to you the power of “no”.

Yesterday, you came within an inch of kicking off the Revolution/Civil War you’ve been frothing at the lips to foment, for going on that entire time and longer.

So let’s be crystal clear about the stakes here.

Your whole team will be on the menu too, and then we’ll wade into the bleachers to get your fans.

You want to cry and project about what bloodthirsty monsters we are? Okay, have it your way. We’re going to make even your worst nightmares pale in comparison to what you’re actually going to get. If a man’s going to get hung for a thief either way, he might as well steal, right?

Don’t appeal to our better natures. That train left the station in 2020. Pray instead if you manage to kick this thing off, you get killed before you get fed to pigs, instead of watching them snack on you while you’re still alive.

So you’d better get down on your goddamned knees, and pray to Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, that Donald Trump stays healthy as a horse all the way to the inauguration of his successor in 2029.

If he gets so much as a head cold from now until then, there isn’t a mineshaft deep enough or another solar system far enough away for you to hide in to escape the wrath you’ve already got stored up.

In terms even your thickest halfwits should understand, it’s like this:

Seconded, unreservedly, right down the fucking line.

Know thine enemy Part the Third

Never forget. Never, EVER forget.

Make them pay. Period fucking DOT.

Update! Not “violent rhetoric,” not “hate speech”—incitement to and explicit endorsement of actual, LITERAL violence.

May each and every last one of them die screaming, and burn in Hell forevermore.

Updated update! Yes, George Stillfoolallofus too.

WATCH: George Stephanopoulos Blames Trump and Trump Supporters’ “Violent Rhetoric” for Shooting
George Stephanopoulos on Sunday reacted to the news that President Trump was shot in a failed assassination attempt, ignoring the divisiveness and violent rhetoric from the left and claiming, “President Trump and his supporters have contributed to this violent rhetoric as well.”

Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz, in the clip below, discussed the attempted assassination with Stephanopoulos and said that no matter what, “you are going to hear conspiracy theories going forward.” Just like we did after the JFK assassination, right?

They couldn’t take Trump out with lawfare and criminal charges, and now Trump has been shot two days before the RNC convention, where he will accept the Republican Party Nomination for President of the United States. It’s oddly suspicious that the leading presidential candidate was almost murdered last night in front of tens of thousands of supporters and millions watching at home as he faces off against Joe Biden, a man who can’t string a sentence together and has weaponized the government against political opponents and dissidents since day one in office.

Why should we believe the Democrats didn’t play a role in this or at least inspire it with their violent rhetoric?

The left always blames Donald Trump’s so-called “violent rhetoric,” but we haven’t seen any attempted assassination of a top Democrat.

Not yet, at any rate. Gee, think that might have something to do with why they feel so confident of getting away with yesterday’s attempted assassination without repercussion beyond a day or two of “overheated rhetoric,” perhaps? Nah, couldn’t possibly be so, perish the thought.

Know thine enemy Part the Second

Got this email from Gab’s Andrew Torba last night, titled “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

While we may feel anger and frustration in the wake of tonight’s tragic event, it is crucial that we respond with wisdom and grace. As the CEO of Gab, I urge all users to refrain from posting any threats of violence or even remotely hinting at it. Gab disavows all threats of violence and has zero tolerance for them on our platform. Please do not post anything foolish on Gab or anywhere else online. Our enemies are watching closely. Do not post any threats. If you see people posting threats please use the report button to let our mod team know.

We must not give our enemies any reason to lock us up or silence our voices.

Instead, let us fight back with our words, our votes, and our unwavering commitment to freedom and justice.

Then you are foredoomed to lose; in fact, you’ve already lost, whether you care to acknowledge it or not. In the main, I’m with Giuseppe Filotto:

He’s right broadly speaking, and I understand his reticence to host any incitements to violence on his platform, but there are two points of actual objective, factual, observable reality he’s missing and a third even more important one wi to out which nothing will change, and they are these:

First: Retreating from these people is NOT the answer. It’s what the general population of not yet insane people have been doing for seven decades in a row. Enough. Fuck retreating. Make THEM retreat, and get back into whatever closet or rock they crawled out of. Be in their face. Stop tolerating their nonsense. No, homosexuality is not normal. No it will not be taught to me or my children as being normal. It is unnatural, deviant, degenerate behaviour that carries extremely high health risks and is associated with extremely elevated incidence of child sexual abuse, rape and molestation. And I don’t give a flying solitary fuck if that upsets you. You can get upset about the sun rising in the East too and I don’t give a fuck about that upsetting you any more than the other facts I just stated. It’s how reality works. Deal with it, your mental illness is not my problem and trying to make it so will not go well with you.

Amen to every last word of that, with big old bells on. More at the link, of which you should read the all. Excepting the obligatory “Genocide in Gaza” Joojoojoonoia horseshit—if Israel really wanted to genocide the disgusting Paelosimians they could’ve just nuked the shitbags long ago, and woulda, and for that matter shoulda, far as I’m concerned—it’s dead on the money.

Know thine enemy Part the First

First in a continuing series of CF posts.

Nolte: Trump-Is-Hitler Media Want ‘Rhetoric Toned Down’ to Avoid Accountability
The corporate media tell us Donald Trump is Hitler, is Mussolini, is a unique threat to democracy, a fascist, a dictator, a Russian spy who stole a presidential election, a rapist, an insurrectionist, and a traitor. The corporate media champion phony impeachments, cheer a federal raid on his home, and validate Joe Biden’s attempt to imprison him, bankrupt him, and take away his businesses…

And now this same corporate media want us to tone down the rhetoric.

No.

The media have spent a decade sowing the wind, and now the media hope to avoid reaping the whirlwind.

No.

Not just no, HELLS MOTHERFUCKING NO, YOU FUCKING POND SCUM.

More to come, folks.

Update! More yet between the ellipses, all worth a look, but I just gotta append Nolte’s closer:

This is not the time to tone down the rhetoric. A former president, a current presidential front-runner, a husband, father, grandfather, and leader of tens of millions of everyday Americans was a half-inch away from annihilation Saturday night.

There must be accountability.

There must be a reckoning.

Indeed there must, and NOT one restricted to pencil-marks on paper ballots, lawyers and/or judges, or milquetoast online op-eds, either. It says so much—none of it at all complimentary to Real Americans—that the “liberal” scum feels themselves secure enough, invulnerable enough, to start in with this insulting propaganda the very morning after they came within literally a fraction of an inch of assassinating Donald J Trump.

Bloody Sunday

Y’all may have noticed the header image, with which I’m not just totally happy yet and will likely be fiddling about more with as the day wears on. As regards the posting content over the next several…well, for the duration, let’s call it: as CF Lifers well know, I’ve never been known for pulling punches, and will not be changing that now. If the Secret Service, their current protectee The Scranton Rutabaga, and/or the Fibbees don’t like that, well, I truly hate it for ‘em.

And the b(l)eat goes on

There’s just no hope at all for some “people.”

FAIR WARNING: It’s a long ‘un, brimming o’er with more of the same species of delusional codswallop, in case anyone wants to befoul himself by clicking over for the rest—an irrational, self-destructive inclination I won’t even pretend to understand. No, I will NOT be C&P’ing the extended post-“Show more” twaddle this time out, because fuck that noise.

Happily, Meestah COL Schlichter courageously steps in to flush the noxious turd down the stink-pipe and away before it can smell up the joint beyond hope of repair.

In the case of the esteemed COL Schlichter, unlike the previous asswart, I’m only too happy to provide the rest of the clickbait story for y’all.

…If he pulls out, it is a confession of his total inadequacy and failure, and I celebrate his humiliation. But he’s not going to be pulling out, because to do that would be to put the needs of other people and the country ahead of his own ego and he’ll never do that because he’s a bad, bad person.

And so is his wife.

WHOA, that’s good squishy!

As the overbooked proctologist reputedly complained to his frazzled assistant: Is there no end to these assholes?

Grateful thanks to Schlichter for the speedy, selfless save; hope your singed nostril-hairs grow back in with no complications or discomfort, Kurt. As for the blistered paint, cracked window-glass, and damaged thundermug, pas de sweat; that ain’t on you, buddy, you already did your bit and then some. Above and beyond the call, I’d say. Next time you’re moved to deal out another righteous smackdown to some deserving dumbass, may I recommend using both backhand AND forehand strokes in your delivery, so as to ensure the intended lesson is not merely learned, but permanently instilled. Additionally, as every serious golfer knows, a vigorous, complete follow-through is critical, particularly with the more stubborn, marginally-educable specimens.

Elsewhere, our pal Aesop examines another self-inflicted auto-da-fé, this one starring a violence-avowing, Biden-fellating punkass beeyotch who now faces follow-on consequences far more dire, including but in no wise restricted to:

  • Loss of employment, professional reputation/status, and career prospects
  • Federal criminal investigation, possible indictment and/or prosecution for issuing serial terroristic threats, aggravated by repeated witting, brazenly non-metaphorical exhortations to widespread murder, mayhem, civil disorder, even the assassination of a specifically-identified former President/current lawful major-party candidate as well as the respectable, law-abiding civilians who support his Presidential campaign
  • Social shunning, banishment, and/or informal exile
  • Eviction, homelessness, soul-scarring poverty
  • Sundry other dick-in-the-meatgrinder repercussions

It’s a joy to behold, far as I’m concerned.

The one and only

At long, long last, a candidate I can get behind with all my heart, soul, mind, spirit, and body, to my last ounce of strength.

Sometimes the right person emerges. When we needed a person to see us through the War for Independence and to serve as this new nation’s first president, Washington emerged. When Britain found itself fighting for its life against Nazi Germany, Churchill emerged. When our country was tearing itself apart over the slavery question, Lincoln emerged.

And now, in our troubled times, David ‘Iowahawk’ Burge has emerged.

Man, has he ever. And how.

The above infuriatingly-truncated “Read more” passage ends thusly: “…leave office after four years.” Which is of course a baldfaced lie, or so we must hope; President-for-Life the Right Hon Mr David NMI Burge would be totally jake with me, I gots no objection, although YMMV. If so, please keep it on the down-low, I really don’t wanna know. It would pain me no end to see any of my beloved CF Lifers permanently beclown himself by publicly confessing to such disgraceful Wrongthink as that.

At any rate, the laff-train keeps a-rolling all night long from there:

Lots, lots more after that one, every last syllable likewise meeting or surpassing the impossibly-high IowahawkCorp© standards for Beverage-Spewing Hilarity, Aggravated GutBustery w/HowlinglyFunny cluster, and/or RightdafuckON, Muhfuhgr! we’ve all come to expect from that crazy-ass fool.

FULL DISCLOSURE OF UNACCEPTABLE JOURNALISMIC BIAS: I’ve been good buds with the legendary David Burge (FACT CHECK: NOT his real name, nor is “Iowahawk,” astonishingly enough) for quite a few years, although over the last several we’ve fallen out of touch, to my boundless regret and ensorrowment.

Dave, if you happen across this, my phone # has changed since we last talked, so do please kite me one of them newfangled electronic-mail thingamabobbers instead (mike-at-cf-dot-etc) when you get a spare minute, wouldja? I realize you’re a busy, busy beaver and all, but I’d truly admire to hear from ya, old friend, it’s been way too long. Hope this missive finds you still fightin’ fit, happy as some clams, and generally doing well—seeing’s how “doing good” sorta cuts against your usual warp and woof and so would feel pretty dang weird, probably for both of us.

Best wishes for fair winds and following seas on your write-in White House run; we could certainly do worse for a Prez-mo-dent, MUCH worse, and likely will. Gaia knows we have, more than just once, twice, or thrice at that.

And to think, the Beltway (Butt)Bandits consider Trump an outsider.

T’would serve those never-to-be-sufficiently-damned Swamp-rats right, sayeth moi.

Nation Vs State

I wouldn’t necessarily have picked Mike Walsh out as such a sturdy, unflappable optimist, but what the hey, more power to him.

What this all boils down to is simple: across the Western world, there is an ongoing war not only between Left and Right, but more fundamentally between those who believe in the power of the State versus those who defend and cherish the rights and prerogatives and histories of their Nation. For countries begin not as political entities — political entities called States — but as Nations, rising up from a people united by blood, faith, languages, culture, and philosophy. Some leftists refer to America as a “notional” nation, but that is historically untrue: the United States was founded in principle and practice almost exclusively by white Protestant men from the British Isles, sons of the Enlightenment who cherished right reason, Christianity, English culture, and who spoke the English language.

What no one foresaw, however, was a government-induced mass migration from radically different cultures, generally one technologically backward and lacking the hard-won considerations of personal rights that had taken centuries to develop in the West. Mostly homogeneous European countries, now shoehorned into the European Union, became flooded via a movement of peoples on a scale not seen since the late Roman Empire, trailing social instability and, often, violent crime, in their wake.

In opposition has arisen populist-nationalist movements in places such as the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Germany, and now France, where the National Rally has campaigned on an explicit campaign promise of expulsion of its burgeoning radical Muslim minority and closing its border to further immigration from Africa and the Middle East. And even Canada, a definitionally bicultural nation, has had enough of Justin Trudeau’s campaign to destroy the country’s strong national identity. Despite the Left’s insistence, “Nationalism” is not a dirty word.

All of the social changes pushed through by the far left over the past few decades, including expanded abortion, open celebration of exhibitionistic sexual fetishism, decriminalized drug use, weakening national militaries, turning a blind eye to street crime, and the constant propaganda drumbeat of political correctness (as they define it), have finally occasioned a Newtonian reaction, including here in the U.S. Despite their best efforts to criminalize him, Trump is not only leading in the polls but widening his lead as the Biden campaigned has hit a brick wall.

On this Fourth of July, we are in another civil war (dubbed by me more than a decade ago as the Cold Civil War), this one a duel to the death between the Nation and the State. Here, and all across Europe, the Nation must win, regain control over the State and, if necessary, dissolve it. As history shows, it’s easier to disestablish a form of government — the French are on their Fifth Republic in the same amount of time that America has had only one — than it is to kill a nation. But make no mistake: that’s the goal the International Left has set for itself since Lenin was a pup. The tide is now running in our favor; celebrate our national birthday by acting accordingly.

Dan Greenfield, as is his wont, sees the distinctions between the French and American Revolutions clearly and acutely.

The struggle between the French and American revolutions nearly led to civil war in this country. Long before Antifa and BLM, or Bill Ayers and The Weathermen or even anarchists detonating bombs on Wall Street, our Founding Fathers were fighting the start of the 200-year war with the Left. And they understood that what was at stake was the very definition of freedom.

“If the progress of Jacobinism is to be arrested at all, it is by fighting it,” a letter from Abigail Adams quoted. ”And if there be a Nation on Earth capable of going the necessary lengths, and making the proper Sacrifices to stop its course,—it must be one that is already possesed of substantial Liberty, that knows how to appreciate it, & how to distinguish between it, and that Sort of Liberty which France is trying to propogate throughout the World. To every other Nation & people, the french liberty is perhaps equal, if not superiour to their own.”

The leftist cause spread like a virus across Europe and much of the world because they had no defense against it. But thanks to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, we did.

The war of ideas between the two revolutions and republics was always going to end here.

America was the only alternative to the Left. And the Declaration of Independence was the wellspring of our sort of liberty. The Fourth of July is the celebration of that liberty, not only from one particular mad king, but from the entire idea of the supremacy of the state.

What initially began as a revolution against a monarchy became a revolution against the Left.

When we watch fireworks burst into the sky above our cities, towns, rivers, lakes and oceans, what makes that display different from those of so many other nations is that our revolution was meant to make us free, not just as a nation, but as individuals pursuing our own destinies.

We did not fight a revolution to build a system that would make us equal by leveling everyone else. This was not a revolution of equity, but of liberty, not a scheme to control others through the state, but to liberate all of us from the state. That unfulfilled revolution is at the heart of the slow civil war in which America finds itself on the 248th anniversary of our fight for freedom.

248 years later the fight goes on.

Which, as our prescient Founding Fathers well knew, it always will do. The struggle between liberty and tyranny—which, ultimately, is really what the Left is, has always been, and will always be all about—is eternal, not ephemeral. That’s simply the nature of the beast.

Take it back

Sayeth Eric Peters, and I could not possibly agree more.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July, the day Americans traditionally celebrate the independence of the American colonies that became states (plural) from Great Britain, which was not accomplished by asking for it.

The American colonists – some of them, a determined minority of them – took their independence.

And now the time has come to take it back.

Americans live in a consolidated state controlled by a central government so controlling it is challenging to come up with anything at all that it considers to be beyond its control. No one can be independent when subject to such control.

Americans are obliged to submit to such control at practically every turn. The only control they are permitted is to cast a single vote out of tens of millions for one of two controllers. We will not elect our way out of this. There is only one way out of this. It is the same way the American colonists got away from the control of king and parliament.

They got away from it.

Certainly, they had to fight for it. But what came before it came to fighting? The determination by a committed minority of Americans that they would no longer abide being controlled by king and parliament – and, implicitly, by anyone else. That was the spirit that animated the fighting, without which the fight would have been lost. The Americans who fought were out-manned and out-gunned in every battle that was fought, just about – especially the early ones. But it was what they were fighting for that made each man worth more than just a man (of which the British had plenty). Put another way, when a man fights for himself – and for his family and his friends – he has a lot more incentive to fight than a man who fights for a paycheck.

Give me liberty or give me death.

It is hard to fight men animated by such a sentiment. It is also hard to conquer them. John Adams, the second president of what became the United States (still plural when Adams was president) said that the fight for independence was won before the fight started when a minority of committed Americans decided the time had come to fight. Put another way, when those Americans came manfully face-to-face with the hard reality that independence would not be achieved by asking for it.

Perhaps a sufficient minority of committed Americans understands this now. Are you one of them?

Are you willing to take your independence back? For your own sake? For the sake of your children – and theirs, yet to be born?

That truly IS the burning question for all Real Americans at this point, isn’t it? Eric goes on to stipulate that it doesn’t necessarily have to come to actual, physical violence, although it very well might—and in my view almost certainly will, although I’d be nothing short of ecstatic to be proven wrong on that. Whichever way things go from here, this superb piece is inarguably one of the most stirring 4th of July paeans to American liberty I’ve ever read.

This shall not stand!

Aww, what a darn shame.

Lesbian Duo Baffled as to Why Muslim Gang Would Pummel Them. Who Wants to Break the News?
A gang of “Middle Eastern men” beat the potato salad out of a lesbian couple in Halifax, Nova Scotia, leaving the two zamis to wonder why the men would treat the ladies so viciously, especially considering it was during Pride month.

Emma MacLean, one of the women assaulted, posted to Facebook that there were between seven and ten men, all between the ages of 18 and 25 and “believed to be from Syria.”

As some may know, myself and my partner Tori were attacked on Saturday night by a group of 7-10+ middle eastern men, believed to be from Syria, aged 18-25 on Argyle Street in downtown Halifax.

One particular individual, wearing a red shirt with a walking boot, initially made a sexually degrading comment to me. My partner Tori and this man got into a verbal altercation where this individual made several disgusting slurs, some being homophobic. Following this, the 7-10 men attacked me and my partner, throwing several punches and kicks to our faces, ribs, etc.

The outcome of this attack has resulted in a broken nose, chipped tooth, several bruises and lumps on our head, faces, etc. We are extremely thankful that things were not worse.

If anyone has any further information or had witnessed this event, or has personal video footage, I would be extremely grateful if you could share it.

Stay safe and happy pride month.

MacLean would later admit that her girlfriend, Tori, followed the gang after they made homophobic slurs toward the women. That’s when things got spicy.

Tori was pushed to the ground, and that’s when the punches and kicks began to fly.

“I’m terrified to go downtown again in Halifax,” MacLean told CTV news. “I just feel like it’s so out of your control on what could happen. It’s overwhelming. I didn’t expect something like this to happen, especially with it happening during pride month as well.”

Some of us have been saying for a long time now that stupidity ought to be literally, physically painful, and whaddya know: in Nova Scotia at any rate, now it is.

War is coming here long since over, and lost

This. This right here.

I had an interesting conversation with a bunch of like-minded conservatives last month, and articulated something that in retrospect is obvious, but difficult to accept.

Islam is winning.

It has a coherent (to them) political philosophy, there is very little internal dissension, the vast majority of its adherents are supportive of its most savage and world-destroying goals, and they have successfully co-opted the natural antipathy of the West toward them and turned it on its head.

There are short-sighted economic reasons for the West to allow the immigrant invasions, but the grand scheme has nothing to do with economics and everything to do with the progressive drive to destroy traditional Western culture and replace it with…anything else. Islam, their allies of convenience, is happy to be of assistance, because they are confident that they will have the upper hand if the West falls to the globalist left.

And they will.

Alas, not “will,” CBD; HAVE, and/or DID. He links to an insightful, thought-provoking piece by one NS Lyons which opens thusly:

Cast Away Illusions and Prepare for Struggle
A response to old guard conservatism

Last fall the Claremont Institute’s venerable Charles R. Kesler published a lengthy essay critiquing National Conservatism and the “New Right” for, essentially, departing from the polite constitutionalist rhetoric of Bill Buckley-style American conservatism for a more definitive popular-nationalism. I was among those invited by Claremont to respond as part of a thoughtful symposium published last month. I’ve decided to republish my short contribution here (though I encourage you to go read the original essay and the full symposium). My argument is brief (and “nearly dismissive” according to Kesler, which I suppose is true): for decades old guard conservatives have for the most part completely failed to conserve anything, institutions of the republic included, no matter how frequently they’ve bandied about the Constitution and appealed to American exceptionalism; it will avail us nothing to continue in the same vein. Because of all this context and the intramural nature of the dispute I hesitated to bother posting this here at all. But given the “conservative”-leaning Supreme Court’s tragic decision yesterday to roll over and allow the gutting of the First Amendment (as predicted), the moment now seemed more appropriate to do so. – N.S. Lyons

To say the very least it is, if not already far too late to do anyone any real good. Continuing from there:

Mao instructed revolutionaries to seize power by struggling to control the “pen,” the “knife,” and the “gun” (that is, the propaganda and administrative institutions, the intelligence and security services, and the army). By this measure the progressive Left has already achieved near total victory. By contrast, old-guard conservatives have—for almost a century now—utterly failed to conserve much of anything, republic included. And none of their habitually muttered invocations of the Constitution’s sacred text have turned the tide in the least. Sadly, theirs is a god that failed—whatever regime we live under now, it is not the U.S. Constitution.

Meanwhile, this struggle is hardly confined to America’s shores. All across the Western world, regimes are converging on the same form of authoritarian managerial technocracy, treating popular sovereignty with disgust and brooking no dissent. New legislation in Canada proposes life in prison for “hate speech.” Britain already arrests hundreds of people per year for holding the wrong opinions. Germany’s interior minister says right-wingers who “mock the state” will be preemptively ejected from the financial system, have their business licenses revoked, and be banned from traveling. At the behest of the E.U., Poland’s new “centrist” government has cast aside the rule of law in order to arrest political enemies and purge the Right from all institutions.

Some of these countries have written constitutions, others don’t—it hardly matters. What they all share, along with the United States, is a near-identical ruling class of transnational managerial elites who believe they alone possess History’s mandate to reengineer society. And what they hate and fear above all else is the nation: the existence—and yes, the very idea—of a distinct and sovereign people that lies beyond the reach of their totalizing hunger for conformity and control. Hence, they hate and fear democracy, too—the self-governance of a nation. This global battle between transnational managerialism and sovereign democratic nationhood now defines 21st-century politics.

Agreed, for the most part, with my usual two (2) caveats:

  1. I still maintain that they do NOT fear us, not in the least; if they did, they’d be dealing with us in a quite different fashion than they have been since at least 2020, if not before. Rather, they despise us, hold us in contempt. And why shouldn’t they? So far, they’ve been given no reason whatsoever to think otherwise
  2. Can we please just dispense already with using The Enemy’s own terminology as if it had been mutually agreed upon as essentially accurate, applicable, and acceptable—ie, this never-ending “democracy” twaddle? I have another diatribe to be completed and put up later today (hopefully; no promises either expressed or implied) covering this very subject, so I’ll stop here on that and spare you folks the redundancy

Apart from those more or less pettifogging objections of mine, this short piece is another for the old must-read list, folks.

The normalcy bias which stubbornly (not to say “bitterly”) clings to the starry-eyed but nonetheless hopeless delusion that—despite the extremities of lawlessness, oppression, and bare-faced despotism Real Americans have been subjected to for lo, these many years—political business as usual somehow still offers meaningful recourse for the persecuted and misruled Serf Class must be abandoned toot sweet, lest all be well and truly lost. Surely it’s clear by now that petitioning the very government which is itself the author of our woes for redress of grievances, as if this were still America That Was rather than the contemporary, built-back-“better” Amerika v2.0, is nothing but a mug’s game.

I’d like to ask a purely practical question at this point…

Are we doin’ Stone’enge tomorrow?

‘Expect a Prison Sentence’: Climate Goons Vandalize Stonehenge; May FINALLY Face Consequences
There is no facet of Western culture the climate goons won’t vandalize in the name of ‘bringing awareness’ to their cause.

As if we need more awareness — the media and the Left (but we repeat ourselves) hammer it into our brains daily. But no, we’re not giving up our cars or eating the bugs. Deal with it.

This time, the ‘Just Stop Oil’ idiots vandalized Stonehenge.

They can’t create anything, they can’t build anything, and they can’t defend their positions. So like all good commies, they destroy the beautiful things others have created. It’s not about ‘raising awareness’ but destroying culture to rebuild it as a communist hellhole.

The vandals insist their vandalism will ‘wash away’ with the rain.

Except, it won’t, according to some pending Community notes, and this reply from the official Stonehenge X account;

Said reply being, to wit:

Out of all the excellent, witty ripostes included in the Twitchy piece, and there are quite a few, my verymost favorite of them would have to be…DRUM ROLL, PLEASE…

TA DAAAAA!!! Okay, y’all surely must realize what I’m a-gonna do next, don’tcha?

OHH, how I love it!

I would hereby like to declare that, henceforth, any time one of these Just Say No To Oil drooltards is spotted in any public place, he/she/it must summarily be beaten into severe, irreversible mental retardation. All sane, able-bodied bystanders and/or passersby will be expected to participate fully in said beatdowns—no exceptions, no exemptions, no looky-loos.

Then again, though, hopefully the two that got arrested will find themselves on the receiving end of nightly doses of big black cock, injected anally—stuffed in from aforementioned point of entry halfway up to their fucking tonsils, painfully withdrawn, reinserted, lather, rinse, repeat. Once word of these nonconsensual administrations of swift, blinding Jailhouse Justice© starts to get around, look for the civilizational-vandal clique’s membership numbers to fall off dramatically.

Update! New category for this sort of arrant nonsense, since it doesn’t look like going away anytime soon: Are we fed up yet?

Be afraid, be very afraid

He damned well OUGHTA be fearful. In a better, more just world, he’d have ample reason to be.

Dr. Fauci says he still fears someone may kill him
(The Hill) – Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former chief White House medical adviser, said that he still fears someone may murder him one day.

“I still think, deep down, that there’s a possibility that somebody’s gonna kill me,” Fauci said in an interview with USA Today released Wednesday. “So, that’s a possibility I wish I didn’t have to think about, but it’s true.”

Fauci noted that he has “become the target of people with extremist views.”

The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has regularly been targeted by conservatives over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in 2022, a man from West Virginia was sentenced to a little over three years in prison following threats to him and others.

“One of the several unfortunate aspects of the outbreak was that it occurred at a time of profound divisiveness in our society,” Fauci told USA Today.

In another recent interview on CBS with by Stephen Colbert, Fauci was asked by the comedian about how he would “diagnose America as a patient right now.” Fauci said that Colbert would need a surgeon rather than a doctor of internal medicine, to which the host replied asking him what he would say if he were a psychologist.

“There is a degree of schizophrenia in the country,” Fauci said. “It’s just, it really is, I mean, how far apart people can be that they seem to forget how much alike we are, but we’re acting like we’re so, so different.”

Vive la différence, sayeth I. God forbid anyone should ever conjure I have a single solitary thing in common with your evil, mass-murdering ass, Herr Gnome.

Further proof, as if any were needed

What does Mike’s Iron Law #873 say? They will NOT stop. They will NEVER stop. They will have to BE stopped. Period fucking dot, end of fucking story.

A New And Predictable Front For Gun Grabbers
Something many of us have been warning about keeps unfolding. While attempts to pass any sort of direct gun bans through Congress have been stymied for a long time and Supreme Court decisions like New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen have been instrumental in overturning unconstitutional state gun control laws, it is clear that the anti-2A forces are not giving up and are instead increasingly doing an end-around on Congress via lawfare.

Here is the latest effort on the lawfare front…

Families of the children who survived the 2022 Robb Elementary mass shooting and parents of those who died have filed a lawsuit against UPS and FedEx, claiming the shipping companies played a part in the massacre that left two teachers and 19 children dead by transporting the rifle and trigger accessories to the gunman.

The lawsuit, filed in Bexar County last month, seeks a jury trial to determine compensatory and punitive damages. The suit claims that the actions of the shipping company caused the families to “suffer and sustain severe physical, mental, and emotional harm” that has resulted and will continue to result in medical expenses and losses of income throughout their lives.

FedEx delivered the AR-15-style rifle to Oasis Outback, which is where the shooter picked up the firearm, the lawsuit said. UPS sent the Hell-Fire trigger modification, which allows a semiautomatic rifle to shoot at a faster rate of speed, to the shooter.

The lawsuit would seem to be without merit. Both the AR-15 and the trigger modification are perfectly legal products, shipped under tight controls. All firearms shipped in the U.S. must be delivered to a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder and those FFLs are subject to strict rules about transfers and are under the oversight of the ATF. Meritless or not, frivolous lawsuits like these might find a sympathetic activist judge and jury who will go along, and even if that doesn’t happen there is an enormous cost to defending a company against lawsuits like this.

While these lawsuits are partly a money grab (the families are also suing Instagram and Activision along with Daniel Defense because the Uvalde shooter played Call of Duty), they are also aimed at shutting down a critical pipeline for gun-owners. It won’t happen with this lawsuit but just as the Firearms Policy Coalition likes to meme, the lawsuit printer runs non-stop, and it works for gun control groups just as much as it does for pro-2A groups like the FPC and GOA.

I keep saying we are in a unique window right now for buying firearms and while most of you presumably already have a bunch, now is the time to make sure you have the right firearms and ammo and accessories. Maybe it is time to upgrade your main rifle or your everyday carry pistol. Perhaps an upgraded trigger? You can always use more magazines. Or spare parts, Big Country did a good post the other day about what bits and bobs you should have for your AR: Needed Some Time Off and What to Have to Service Your Boom-Stick. Point is, don’t take for granted how awesome things are for gun buyers right now, it will not last.

You have been warned. What you do with that warning is your bidness.

That’s about the size of it, yeah. Y’know, sometimes I just can’t help but HATE being proved right all the time.
