SO, how’s that globalism working out for ya, anyway?

Not too good.

So, have you heard about the massive international shipping crisis coming out of China, and the accompanying shortage of overseas shipping containers?

Actually, I have, lots of times—seeing as how my brother hauls containers out of Charleston and Savannah for a living, and calls me about five-six times a day, five and sometimes six days a week, to yell about one dipshit “good enough for gummint work” problem or another he’s currently dealing with while he’s sitting in endless lines at the port waiting to get either a container or the chassis the container sits on to pull back to NC. He’s been particularly perplexed over the sudden scarcity of both containers and chassis lately, and we’ve spent a good bit of time on the phone trying to suss out what the reasons for that might be.

Turns out, it’s a pretty complex problem.

Freight shipping is in the midst of a unique and unusual predicament. An unforeseen cascade of events caused by the pandemic has us facing a worldwide container shortage crisis. It’s a crisis because the lack of containers has a ripple effect down entire supply chains, disrupting trade on a global scale.

As the pandemic spread out from its Asian epicentre, countries implemented lockdowns, halting economic movements and production. Many factories closed temporarily, causing large numbers of containers to be stopped at ports. To stabilize costs and the erosion of ocean rates, carriers reduced the number of vessels out at sea. Not only did this put the brakes on import and export, it also meant empty containers were not picked up. This was especially significant for Asian traders, who couldn’t retrieve empty containers from North America.

Then, a unique scenario developed. Asia, being the first hit by the pandemic, was also the first to recover. So while China resumed exports earlier than the rest of the world, other nations were (and still are) dealing with restrictions, a reduced workforce and minimal production.

A consequence of this is that almost all of the remaining containers in Asia headed out to Europe and North America, but those containers did not come back quickly enough. Massive workforce disruptions due to coronavirus restrictions in North America affected not only ports, but cargo depots all across the country as well as inland transport lines. Without adequate staffing, containers started to pile up. As borders tightened, customs became more complicated to clear as well, worsening congestion. In addition, there were rapid shifts in tradelane demands that were challenging for carriers to adapt to.

Now, that seems a little odd, since it doesn’t explain why containers and chassis would be so difficult to find on the US East Coast at all. In fact, the central premise of the article seems to completely contradict the issue my brother has been dealing with every day, for a cpl-three months now. But attentive readers can pick up at least one solid hint from the piece, involving what happens when instant despots—Just add Covid!!™—start behaving as if economies as sprawling as ours can be stopped and started as easily as flicking a light switch on and off, with no unanticipated ill effects.

Maybe Buck’s next link can clear things up a little further.

Never before has the humble ocean shipping container been this important to American business. If you can’t get one, you can’t move your international cargo — and supply has never been tighter. The cost of global trade is now contingent on how many containers exist, where they are and where they aren’t.

How many containers exist is controlled by China. Virtually every ocean shipping container in the world is built there.

Just three Chinese companies account for the majority of production, with Chinese factories now building more than 96% of the world’s dry cargo containers and 100% of the world’s refrigerated containers, according to U.K. consultancy Drewry.

Ahh, the Dinks, then. Quelle surprise.

Buck has plenty more along these lines, but the above ought to provide sufficient confirmation that allowing FederalGovCo to incentivize nominally American corporations to stab their employees in the backs with their own weaponized tax dollars via relocating virtually all US manufacturing to Red China might not have been such a hot idea after all. His closer:

I’ve got a simple idea that can mitigate a whole lot of these problems. Products that are to be sold in the USA can also be manufactured in the USA. Once manufactured, they won’t be impacted by exotic new virus outbreaks in China, or by a lack of Chinese containers, or by backups in Chinese ports, or even by the ick factor of China’s slave labor.

Even if manufacturing is simply moved from China to other countries, it is way past time to disengage from China.

Do I even need to remind anyone that Trump had made a pretty good start on that during his term, having already secured agreements with major US firms to either keep domestic plants running that they had been planning to shut down, or to build new facilities here? Of course, we all know how that ended up.

No Sooner Is Trump Out Of Office, Ford Is Switching US$900 Mln Investment From Ohio To Mexico
The Ford Motor Company has backed out of a pledge to invest US$900 million in an assembly plant near Cleveland, Ohio and will instead switch production to Mexico.

In 2019 – when Donald Trump was president – Ford had promised to invest in the factory in Avon Lake, which employs 1,700 workers producing the Ford E-series van and Super Duty pickup truck.

As a lifelong Ford fanatic, you can easily imagine how I felt about that. Bastards.

Step by step, inch by inch

Checking all the boxes, one by one by one.

This 1963 report on how the Communist Party wanted to take over America is so relevant for today that it’s unreal
A part of me has to admire the fiendish persistence and patience of the commies seeking to overthrow liberty. They’ve been pushing for decades toward a common goal, and the fruit of their poisonous effort has now infiltrated every major institution in the United States in addition to our local churches and schools.

This 1963 Congressional report on the goals of the Communist Party in the U.S. shows how tenacious they have been in world-shaping. You may find yourself shocked to see how long they’ve had the goals that are now changing America.

Speak for yourself, buddy. Those goals were in place from the start, baked right into the Commie cake, and the Rooskies doggedly worked the plan throughout the USSR’s abominable existence, with plenty of assistance right along from American useful idiots. No part of this any reasonably intelligent person who’s been paying attention should find shocking in the slightest. The only shock here is that the rest of us sat complacently back and allowed them to get away with it. A few specifics from the report, which runs to a total of 45 depressing bullet points:

  • Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
  • Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.
  • Capture one or both of both political parties in the United States.
  • Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
  • Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
  • Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, and policymaking positions.
  • Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
  • Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. And American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward, and meaningless forms.”
  • Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as “normal, natural, and healthy”
  • Infiltrate the churches and replace religion with “social” religion.
  • Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs.
  • Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
  • Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.”

If you wanted to make this look MORE like the modern Democrat-Socialist Party platform, I can’t imagine how you’d go about doing it. “Unreal,” did you say? Sorry, but it’s all TOO.

Today’s totalitarians

They’ve far surpassed their spiritual mentors and antecedents.

Compared to today’s woke left, Hitler’s methods for seizing power look like something out of the technological Stone Age.

This statement is not to dismiss the horrors unleashed by Nazi rule. It is rather to focus attention on how much easier it is for today’s totalitarians to operate compared with their musty-looking predecessors. The fashion standards for totalitarianism have clearly been updated.

Well, I can’t quite agree with that last. If there’s one thing the original Nazis were known for, apart from—well, you know, the rest of it—it’s those snappy, snazzy, sharp-looking uniforms. Today’s hippie-dippy-flowerchild sack dresses, Birkenstocks—or, for the younger generation, cargo shorts, natural fiber T-shirts, and scraggly-ass beards—fare mighty poorly in comparison, like somebody might have spent the night before sleeping in an over-full restaurant dumpster or something.

As Halperin’s book makes clear, those looking at the Nazi takeover in Germany were not aware of later technological advancements which would make mass control light years easier than it was roughly 90 years ago. In interwar Germany, regional, cultural, and religious differences remained strong. In the U.S., however, most people are now subject to uniform indoctrination, much of it supplied by leftist schools and universities as well as the all-pervasive media. Homogenization, or what the Nazis called Gleichschaltung (“coordination”), has already taken place on a scale that the Nazis had to work years to achieve and could only attain by threatening the public with imprisonment and torture. Compliance need no longer be enforced through acts of terror, acts which Hannah Arendt in Origins of Totalitarianism gave as distinguishing marks of Soviet and Nazi dictatorships.

Today the media, the “democratic” administration, and the educational establishment can robotize their subjects by continuously harping on the same themes from the same perspective. The many films, news reports, and even advertisements with which we’ve been flooded in recent months show this particularly as they stress the glories of the black racial identity over the white one. Some of these sources also broadly suggest that whites have been overrepresented in American life, except as oppressors. The simultaneity and effectiveness with which the power elites now operate in such matters make the Nazi ministry of propaganda, with their static-filled radio broadcasts, seem like inept novices in comparison. Like clothing and speech, totalitarian control has been updated.

In the case of EvilMedia, one can only assume that Goebbels would have been mighty proud of his ideological offspring. With good reason, too.

Oathbreakers

See if you can guess who said this.

“My heart starts racing like most other Black men in America when I see those blue lights behind me,” he claimed. “You don’t know the anxiety, the despair, the heartache, the fear, the rage and the disappointment that comes with living in this country…every single day.”

So what kind of guy might say something like this, anyway? A few possibilities for your consideration:

  • A grungy punk rock kid idling on a St Mark’s Place apartment building’s stoop in lower Manhattan
  • A rabid Marxist Harvard student…or professor
  • A Los Angeles BLM “protester”
  • A vagrant crackhead taking a dump on a San Francisco street
  • A Chicago gangbanger/arsonist
  • A Nation of Islam weirdo
  • LeBron James

A: None of the above. Ready for the big reveal, gang? If you had your money on Chief Master Sergeant Kaleth Wright, top advisor to former Chief Of Staff of the United States Air Force David Goldfein, please go to the pay window to collect your winnings.

Okay, then. Here we have a high-high-brass USAF non-com who raised his hand and swore an oath most solemn, of his own free will, to lay down his very life if necessary in defense of the selfsame country for which he feels nothing but “anxiety, despair, heartache, fear, rage and disappointment” over being condemned to live in, the poor dear. Does that strike anybody out there as being really, really close to disloyalty?

Ready for the truly scary part? Wright is by no means alone in those sentiments in today’s military. Not by a long yard, he ain’t.

This is Chief of Staff Charles Q. Brown Jr’s new Air Force.

Brown, the first black Chief of Staff of the Air Force, ought to be a living symbol of opportunity. Instead, like other disloyal military leaders, including his predecessor, Chief of Staff David Goldfein, he’s smearing America, and conducting a witch hunt for imaginary racism.

The racial attack on the U.S. Force from within began with the Black Lives Matter riots.

“I am a Black man who happens to be the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force,” Chief Master Sergeant Kaleth Wright tweeted using his official Air Force account. “I am George Floyd…I am Philando Castile, I am Michael Brown.”

Even Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison admitted there was no racial element in the Floyd case and had not even tried to add to the wrongful prosecution with hate crime charges.

But Wright, the top advisor to former Air Force Chief of Staff Goldfein at the time of the Black Lives Matter race riots, suggested that he could be killed by white police officers at any moment.

It made you wonder why Wright hadn’t left America for somewhere safer like Cuba.

It makes me wonder why every self-respecting American patriot still in hasn’t gotten the hell out already.

The Air Force’s top enlisted leader smeared America, identified with criminals, and urged everyone to be angry. He ranted that he had been inspired by socialist rapper Killer Mike to pursue “plotting, planning, strategizing, organizing and mobilizing”. And together with his boss, Goldfein, they would be working on a “full and thorough independent review of our military justice system”. The review, predictably, accused the military justice system of being racist.

Air Force Chief of Staff Brown claimed that the report contained “things I’ve actually felt”.

Feelings were now more important than facts not just on college campuses, but in the Air Force.

What about actually defending America?

Air Force Magazine said that Brown and Chief of Space Operations John Raymond suggested that there “should be a balance between mission readiness and ensuring people’s voices are heard”. Mission readiness was only at best equivalent in value to conversations about racism.

And before long, mission readiness will be less important than accusing America of racism.

Before long? What with Amerika v2.0’s all new LGBTQ, PurePC, and femiNazi-friendly military; its nigh-traitorous general-offiçer corps; and its inability to notch a clear win since WW2, looks to me like that ship has already sailed.

Murderer exposed?

My initial impression after a cursory skim earlier today was that Hoft was over-selling it a little, something he’s wont to do now and then. But after checking back tonight, reading through the updates, and thinking the whole thing over…well, I dunno. Seems to me the case he makes is a lot more solid than I first thought.

Identity of Ashli Babbitt Killer Confirmed — Careless Capitol Police Lieutenant Is Being Protected by Democrats, Pelosi and Deep State FBI

I won’t bother with trying to excerpt the contention that the murderer’s identity has been confirmed; you can click on over and peruse the entire post for that, and you should. The part I’ll content myself with mentioning is at the very top:

Ashli Babbitt‘s husband Aaron Babbitt and Attorney Terrell Roberts joined Tucker Carlson in mid-June to discuss the continued challenges they have had getting any information on her death or the identity of her government-employed killer.

During the discussion, Tucker Carlson asked Attorney Roberts about the report that Ashli’s shooter also left his loaded gun in a US Capitol restroom.

Tucker Carlson:  Mr. Roberts, let me ask you, there are reports online, that’s incredible I don’t know if they’re true, that the Capitol Hill police officer who shot Ashli Babbitt, I’m not going to mention the name, was the same officer that left his loaded handgun in a public men’s room on the Capitol. Do you believe that is the officer, it seems like a very reckless person, who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt on January 6th?

Attorney Terrell Roberts: That’s my belief. That’s my belief.

As Jim points out, this jaw-dropping demonstration of malfeasant boobery was originally reported back in February 2019 by Roll Call. In combination with the photos of the careless fool muzzle-sweeping his Cap-Po colleagues, Congressmen, and everybody else within a ten mile radius repeatedly, his finger being firmly inserted into the trigger well the whole time, and other breaches of the most elementary firearm-safety rules—basics that are usually drummed into every shooter’s head from jump—the picture that emerges is of an incompetent, irresponsible, and just plain stupid diversity-quota hire who never should have been on any police force at all, anywhere, ever. Seriously, the guy makes Paul Blart, Mall Cop look like the very epitome of what a conscientious, capable peace officer ought to be.

From there, it ain’t exactly a big leap to imagine that the hapless Lieutenant Byrd gunned down poor Ashli out of sheer panic, no other reason. Obviously the dangerous schlub was confused, his situational-awareness jumbled, and his courage and professionalism wholly inadequate to the task the job required of him. Tested by the stress of an unusual moment, he reacted not like a steady, well-trained professional but like a frightened thug. He may not be entirely at fault for having been allowed into a position that far exceeded his abilities, I suppose. But that in no way absolves him for summarily executing an unarmed woman who his teammates clearly did not evaluate as a serious threat. For the heinous crime of trespassing, no less.

Since the two-tiered Amerikan “justice” system is such a joke, along with being under the protection of some of the most powerful forces in our tyrannical ruling junta, Lieutenant Byrd need never worry about being dealt his due and proper judgment in a real court of law; sadly, those are another thing we no longer have. The only semblance of justice he might ever face will be whatever Real Americans mete out themselves: doxxing, public harrassment, and just generally seeing to it that Byrd never enjoys another moment’s peace or good night’s sleep for the rest of days.

Not that I would ever suggest or encourage any of that, naturally. I would never do such a thing. That would be…y’know…wrong.

Patience will out

An (eventually, ultimately) optimistic take from Robert Gore.

The trial for Derek Chauvin and the lack of one for the Capitol Hill policeman (name still unknown) are another reminder—not that any are needed—that savages aren’t fair. It’s pathetic and ludicrous to expect an appellate court to grant Chauvin a new trial, although it would have ample grounds to do so in anything resembling a fair judicial system.

It’s like saying, “Wait until 22 and 24!” or, “Wait until the Arizona vote audit!” after last year’s blatant election theft. The savages have instituted corrupt arrangements that will enshrine their power in perpetuity. Expecting them to tolerate anything that would jeopardize those arrangements is like expecting water to run uphill. Fair or even quasi-fair elections would threaten their power. They are, like fair trials, but a memory.

Savages beget savagery and nothing else, until they are stopped or they stop themselves. Don’t count on them recognizing the production—a civilized and thereby forbidden act—and the producers—civilized and thereby forbidden people—that keep them fed and alive. And don’t count on them not making your weaponry, your last line of defense, a use it or lose it proposition.

They recognize no limits, certainly not the constraints imposed by reality. They may have to lay waste to the world before whomever remains of the honest and productive realize that their lives are a defend them or die proposition. For decades, America’s rulers and their accomplices have said about the enemies of the day: they only understand force. It’s projection, ascribing to others one’s own motivations. They’ve dressed it up in all sorts of verbiage, from Make the World Safe for Democracy to We’re All In This Together, but force is what they understand and to which they’ll always resort. The only thing that will stop them is superior force more competently wielded.

Government of the savages, by the savages, and for the savages doesn’t have much to draw on, and decades of propaganda have told savages to look to the government for every need. Vegetarian stew in every pot, two Teslas in every garage, paid for diplomas on every wall, a band-aid for every scratch, and a kiss for every boo-boo are just the minimum of what they’ve been told to expect. If they don’t get them it’s the selfish civilized’s fault. But who will they blame when the selfish civilized skip town or quit? And who will feed them?

The separatists will have the productive capabilities. Many of the country’s honest entrepreneurs (as opposed to its crony socialists) have already migrated. They will also have military expertise, especially after the savages eliminate retrograde rightwingerism and transform the US military into the most diverse, empathetic, and politically correct conflict resolution force the world has ever seen. (Oh, how the world trembles!) Notwithstanding the many thanks they’ve received for their service to the savages’ government, many veterans will join the civilized.

After last year’s mostly peaceful riots and the January 6 Insurrection That Nearly Overthrew The Most Exceptional Government In History, many savages bought firearms for the first time. Unfortunately for them, there’s a big difference between buying a firearm and knowing what to do with it, and most of that knowledge (and millions of firearms) are on the side of the vets and the civilized.

Many of the vets have also received on-the-job training in guerrilla warfare, against which the US government is batting zero. The government has many scary weapons, but it has repeatedly demonstrated an inability to keep such weapons out of the hands of its adversaries. Perhaps the separatists will prove as clever and capable as the Vietnamese, al Qaeda, ISIS, Taliban, and Iraqis and other groups have been at capturing US government weaponry. Notwithstanding their diversity, empathy, and political correctness, the conflict resolution forces would then find their weapons turned against them.

At this point, imagination is far more important than a deer-in-the-headlights’ fixation on present realities, because those realities are changing so quickly and chaotically. When the ground is continuously shifting under your feet, you can’t know where you are with any certainty. Your chance of saving yourself depends on knowing where you want to go and having an idea of how to get there.

Skepticism about imminent revolutionary change is understandable, but often betrays a misunderstanding of how revolutions in politics, science, culture, art, philosophy, learning, and all other fields of productive human endeavor work. The explosion visible to all is almost always preceded by a long, burning fuse visible to few and understood by fewer, only generally apprehended after the explosion.

The burning fuse in this case is the awesome force of decentralization sweeping the planet; the revolution is actually well underway. Centralization is a legacy idea and government is its legacy institution. After centuries of centralized, resource-devouring, and tyrannical government failures, and after the failure of the most centralized, resource-devouring, and tyrannical government in history, legions of intellectuals of impaired intellect and infinitesimal imagination still hail or fear a centralized, resource-devouring, and tyrannical global government. That’s not to say there aren’t plenty of people out there trying to institute such a government, but they’re building a three-foot-high wall of beach mud and sand against a tidal wave.

That wave will arrive, of that there can be no doubt. Afterwards people will point to some contemporaneous event as the catalyst, but the catalysts have been accumulating for decades, their leitmotif decentralization. Multi-volume sets could be written about them all.

Don’t get too attached to today; tomorrow it’s gone. The questions that will emerge from the chaotic maelstrom: Freedom or tyranny? Civilization or savagery? Anyone who chooses civilized freedom is going to have to fight for it, but it’s a fight that can and will be won.

We can but hope…and prepare, plan, and load magazines.

When they made him, they broke the mold

Although I don’t pay a lot of attention to boxing nowadays, back when I did George Foreman was always tops with me. No, he was never much for fancy footwork, finesse, or the more subtle aspects of the Sweet Science. Even in his heyday, a more well-rounded, agile pugilist like Mohammed Ali could run rings around old George, and literally did sometimes.

But that hardly means Foreman didn’t know exactly what he was doing in the squared circle. George was well aware that if he could just hang in there until the opportunity arose to land just one of those cinder-block hands of his in exactly the right spot, his opponent would be going down like a bag of wet sand, regardless of who that opponent might have been. Foreman’s victims may have danced their way into the ring, all right. But an awful lot of them would wind up being carried out, with their glassy, vacant eyes rolling around in their heads like pinballs. Some of the fighters put down by a Foreman brick claim that you never really get over one of those earthquake haymakers; in one way or another, the effects stay with you for life. I don’t doubt it, not one bit.

Ali, Evander, Sugar Ray, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Larry “You so damn ugly” Holmes, Thomas Hearns, Boom Boom Mancini, De La Hoya—I liked ’em all. But I always loved George Foreman best, and I still do. I mean, how could you not?

Boxing legend George Foreman said Sunday that he’s been pressured to stop publicly saying that he loves the United States, but will continue to do so, anyway.
“For about 54 years, people have ask me not to keep saying ‘I love America,’” Foreman posted to Twitter on Independence Day.

“Well I do and I’m not ashamed,” he wrote. “Don’t leave it; Love it.”

“Happy 4th of July,” Foreman closed the succinct post.

The former boxer used the message to caption a photo of himself with his eyes and holding the American flag after taking gold for our nation at the 1968 Olympic Games.

The post quickly went viral, racking up nearly 85,000 likes by Monday.

Here’s the Tweet:

What a breath of fresh air, a most welcome change from the usual run of things with today’s repellent crop of professional athletes. May God bless and keep you, George.

I preminisce no return of the salad days

Another Ironbear masterpiece of commentry that needs to be moved out front here.

There is no going back. We live in post-America now, and have for quite some time. We can’t go back to the America of the Founding any more than we can go back to the bright, shiny, thriving, hopeful and optimistic America of the ’50s. There is no time machine that will take us there.

Conservative thinkers like Smith, Codevilla, and the rest err in thinking that there is somehow some way to dismantle and excise the degeneracy of Progressivism while keeping the worthwhile parts of what Codevilla calls “Republican America”.

There is not.

Post-America is not going to somehow revitalize and go back to being America. We’re in the degenerate phase of a decadent civilization, and, to date, to the best of my knowledge, there has never been a degenerate civilization that has reversed course and revitalized into a thriving, growing, and vital civilization.

Breakup and partition is inevitable at this point. Empires always fall apart.

What grows out of that is no more going to resemble the America of George Washington than the Western Civilization that grew out of the breakup of the Roman Empire resembled Classical Rome.

The primary question at this point, and the one that thinkers like Smith and Codevilla refuse to face squarely – because that would require admitting that they’re spinning their wheels – is whether the breakup and collapse will be slow and gradual over centuries like Rome, or fast and bloody like Yugoslavia.

I don’t believe that quick and peaceful like Czechoslovakia or even the Soviet Union is in the cards for us.

The secondary question is: What comes next? What grows out of rubble?

Smith and Codevilla can’t answer that for the same reason I can’t: the caterpillar can’t envision the butterfly.

Yup, that’s about the size of it. I myself am frequently guilty of using phrases like “restoring America” and the like, despite knowing that such a thing not only won’t happen, it in fact CAN’T happen. We’re walking on uncharted and extremely dangerous ground now, and the destination is uncertain at best.

The Devil’s right hand

Evil wears many faces in Amerika v2.0 these days. Probably the ugliest of these ugly mugs belongs to George Soros.

From the perspective of someone who values life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, there is no more dangerous man today than George Soros. This is not hyperbole, it is the simple truth. While we don’t plan to paint a picture of a man standing behind the scenes, rubbing his hands together and cackling as he plays puppet master over each and every attack on freedom around the world, Soros acts as a strawman and a caricature of what is actually going on in the world.

George Soros, his money, and his NGOs are bankrolling and influencing public policy and opinion from the local level all the way up to the national level. Entire nations have been made to bow to the Soros agenda, but perhaps more importantly for our purposes, key local officials in government are increasingly wholly owned subsidiaries of the Soros machine.

Ever wonder why urban terrorists can burn down cities with no consequences but the McCloskeys are prosecuted for defending their home against the same? The answer is George Soros, his money, and his influence.

George Soros understands this and has been quietly funding a campaign to place district attorneys amenable to his agenda across the United States.

The Los Angeles Times – hardly the Epoch Times – describes this as “a years-long campaign by liberal groups to reshape the nation’s criminal justice system.” You should believe them when they tell you this, because that is precisely the goal. Not the litigation of the 10-yard fight that is the minutiae of law in America, but the radical reshaping of the legal system as we know it.

Part of this is just the very nature of bureaucracy, the plainer term for what people mean when they talk about “the deep state.” The government rests on men doing things, chief among these are what Vladimir Lenin called “special bodies of armed men”: cops, courts, and jails. According to Lenin, this is the very essence of the state. Libertarians will sympathize with this definition of the state. At its core, the state is a man with a gun who will throw you in a cage or kill you if you fail to comply. Everything else is just window dressing.

The local prosecutor is a chokepoint in the special bodies of armed men. The attorney general isn’t euphemistically called “top cop” for no reason and in his own way, the local prosecutor is also a “top cop,” albeit with a much smaller jurisdiction. This also means that he has more direct control over the individuals in his district, as the attorney general deals more in broad brushstrokes.

Who is your local DA? George Soros knows. He might very well be his paymaster.

If you want to understand one of the uppermost reasons why our current situation is so impossibly complex, difficult to comprehend, and grim, read the rest of this deep-dive exposé and you’ll know all about it. We’ve been losing the Long War for many long years now, a struggle that could very easily end in total defeat for Team Liberty simply because it was never a fair fight. We’ve been playing a crooked, rigged game, and the odds against us now are so daunting because villainous, über-rich curs like the vile Soros have stacked the deck. It’s who they are, it’s what they do.

Unacceptable, intolerable

It’s time, and past time, to start offing fascists.

Antifa is currently attacking protesters at the Korean spa in California that allowed a biological male customer to flash their penis at women and girls because of their “gender identity.”

Among those attacked by the militant leftists, so far, include a woman, a journalist, a preacher and a Latino couple.

A video of an outraged woman confronting the staff at Wi Spa in Los Angeles about the naked man walking around in the women’s changing room went viral last week.

Following the video going viral, a protest was planned at the spa for July 3. It began peacefully, with protesters defending the privacy and rights of women and girls on one side of the street and Antifa on the other.

It became violent when Antifa crossed the street and began assaulting the protesters.

Naturally, the violent pAntiFags were verbally haranguing the normal, sane citizens for being “transphobic,” “homophobic,” and all the rest of the usual Leftard horseshit throughout.

The line from WW2-era Naziism to Amerika v2.0’s present-day Left runs straight and true, with the differences between the supposedly less-radical Democrat-Socialist Party and its own Waffen SS stormtroopers being ones not of kind but of degree. These scum have all but overrun America That Was, burrowing into every institution, civic organization, and neighborhood and working tirelessly to destroy them all from within. If however many Real Americans are left don’t want to see the Leftyfascists accomplish their deadly mission in full, they must resolve to do whatever it takes to stop them before it’s too late.

We are at war. Not rhetorical war, not a “war of ideas,” not “cold” war—REAL war, war to the knife. And, as the great Nathan Bedford Forrest knew: war means fighting, and fighting means killing.

Estimates of the body count from last year’s rioting range between 25 to 60 deaths, the ones I’ve seen. The January 6th protest saw poor Ashli Babbitt brutally murdered by a fascist pig who is being protected by the State, and who will never face justice for his crime. The Enemy has gone way, way, WAY beyond claiming “first blood” against us. We’ve all seen way too much of this shit by now. From here on out, anytime one of these fascist beatdowns does NOT wind up with at least one pAntiFa goon lying dead in the street, Real Americans must count it as a tactical defeat.

Enforced insanity

You will be made to go insane.

A few snapshots from the past few years:

In 2015, a famous male athlete puts on a dress and make-up. He then declares himself a female. Despite the athlete not having undergone “sex re-assignment surgery”, our cultural overlords immediately announce their agreement: the dress and make-up have indeed made the male a female. Not just a “female in spirit”, but an actual female.

Time magazine then proclaims the athlete its runner-up “Woman of the Year”. Glamour magazine goes all the way and proclaims him its “Woman of the Year”. Social media bans anyone who dares refer to the athlete by his original male name, uses male pronouns to refer to him, or in any way affirms the immutable reality of biological sex. At the same time, politicians begin passing laws to enforce the new orthodoxy.

The message was sudden, but clear: We must believe a lie. We must speak a lie. We must make ourselves unknow that a person’s biological sex is an unchangeable fact of nature. We must believe that a male who amputates his penis and testicles has thereby turned himself into a female—as opposed to just a male without a penis or testicles. We must believe that putting on a dress vaporizes, or at least renders meaningless, the sexual identity encoded within every cell of our bodies. We must believe that gender dysphoria never really existed, and that instead, a kind of spirit possession is at work. The idea is that a male or female soul—through some sort of never-explained cosmic mix-up—winds up trapped in the wrong body. What sounds like the premise of a bad ’70’s Disney movie is now the One True Truth.

In short, the message was, and still is, we must adopt beliefs about biological sex which, only a decade ago, mental health professionals would have deemed proof of psychosis. Now, we’re supposed to remain unbothered as those same mental health professionals demand we adopt their new psychotic vision. They demand we parrot the lie they all know is a lie. Insanity is the new sanity. Falsehood is the new truth. Bullying is the new compassion. State-enforced delusion is the new science. Magic is the new physics. Fantasy is the new reality. Man is the new woman, and woman is the new man.

Hate for the constraints of human biology has only spread since Bruce turned into Caitlyn. Just a few days ago, for example, the Miss Nevada USA pageant decided to crown a biologically male contestant. Kataluna Enriquez reportedly has completed her surgery—but again, all that “sex reassignment surgery” is, is the amputation or mutilation of sexual organs. Because that is true, the phrase “sex reassignment surgery” is itself a transparent lie. You can’t “reassign” or change biological sex. You can amputate a penis and testicles. You can amputate breasts, and remove a vagina and a uterus. You can flood bodies with lab-created hormones. You can wear make-up or dresses, top hats or tuxedos. But what you can’t do is change sex. In fact, you can’t even erase the effects of male sexual maturation decades later.

All fine and well, all perfectly true, and all anathema to the Madhouse Left. But to what end? What’s behind all this lunatic zealotry?

This sounds like a contradiction. It isn’t. It perfectly expresses a core driver of Wokism: a seething, pathological, violent, sociopathic, hate of everything that is: all truth, all reality, all nature, all existence, all constraint, all law, all sense, all decent aspiration, everything. This is far beyond mere antinomianism. For the Wokists, whatever is must be extinguished. This is what their all-consuming hate requires.

Meeting the new standard of pseudo-piety requires nothing less than our own self-induced insanity. Failure to self-induce insanity gets you “disappeared” from social media, fired, or physically attacked. At this rate, who can doubt the attacks could escalate into the murder of political dissidents? Not that the Wokestaat will do that directly (by the way, I just made up the word “Wokestaat”). No, they’ll just use their street thugs as proxy exterminators—just as they use Antifa and BLM rioters as proxy chaos agents, social media as proxy censors and spies, and mainstream “news outlets” as a proxy propaganda arm.

Chuckle if you want, but Wokism is the official religion of the United States government. And like all fanatics, there’s nothing the Wokists won’t do to force their stupid, pernicious ideas on to everyone. That includes every form of carrot and every form of stick.

Well, we all already knew how ludicrous their claim to exclusive membership in “the reality-based community” always was. Funny how you don’t hear them making that claim much these days, from which one might be inclined to draw some unflattering conclusions about them. But is that really all there is to this? Is there even more lurking just underneath the surface lunacy to be revealed? Might their agenda go much beyond driving us all as batshit nuts as they are themselves? Three guesses.

According to Victor Davis Hanson, the Biden Administration and the Democrats who run urban hotspots of crime cannot deal with the exploding violence rationally because they are too encumbered with ideological baggage. Their political outlook forces them to look for alternative explanations for a breakdown that can only properly be analyzed by those who are not wearing blinders.

Such commentators recognize the magnitude of our crime problem. But they also perhaps unjustifiably assume that the Democrats are headed for disaster by not addressing it. For me, however, it is not clear that Democratic politicians are being irrational when they trot out specious solutions. Let me start from an opposite premise, namely that everything the present administration is allowing to happen, and which creates chaos and aggravates violence, is aimed at increasing its control. Democratic policies follow Thomas Hobbes’ definition of power, as an ability to do those things necessary “to obtain some future apparent Good.” That obvious “Good” in this case is to establish the Democratic Party as the one national party, which can go on ruling indefinitely and make the electorate an accomplice in its drive for total power.

From that perspective, Biden, or whoever pulls his strings, and other Democratic luminaries are doing what is necessary to further their power grab. The “disorder” or “crisis” at the border, which the Democrats have done nothing to stop, is clearly meant to increase the size of the Democratic electorate, starting with turning Texas blue. Getting rid of the filibuster, packing the Supreme Court, and nationalizing elections with the passage of HR 1 are all efforts to achieve the same end: empowering the Democrats and reducing their often-minimal opposition to total impotence.

The steps taken to increase urban crime and then to ban weapons that have little or nothing to do with the crimes in question belong to the same design. The Democrats have been actively promoting civil unrest since last summer, when they defended Black Lives Matter, raised millions to bail out the apprehended vandals, and, in the cases of Kamala Harris and Maxine Waters, incited further criminal activities.

It’s not as if the Democrats are clueless about what’s going on or are blinded by ideological passions. They have used violence to propel themselves into power by blaming Donald Trump for what they themselves abetted.

Ahh, the same old thing these whackadoos are always grubbing for more of, then: power, and control.

“Can Radical Federalism Save America?”

Worth a try, of course. But doubtful. Very, very doubtful.

Eminent conservative thinker Angelo Codevilla had an article titled “To Rescue a Nation” last week at the American Mind that’s very much worth reading. To save the republic means ending the escalating tensions and conflicts precipitated by growing divisions. A radical approach is necessary.

To allow divergent peoples to peacefully coexist and find some commonality of purpose so the nation may survive, differences must be accepted and governance made to conform to that reality. To achieve that good result, Codevilla asserts that we need a “radical de-centralization” or, as might be said, a radical federalization of the nation. It’s the remedy for saving the country from disunion or tyranny. But is this worthy goal achievable?

Almost certainly not. At this point, whether it’s even desirable or not is eminently debatable. There’s a certain inconvenient reality the more reticent and respectable commentariat overlooks that undoes every argument they try to make: the nation is ALREADY split, in every truly meaningful sense. The divergence of political ideology, ambition, and intent has widened into a yawning chasm. It is a gap that can no longer be bridged. The point is moot; tyranny is already in place, and the only thing disunion lacks is an official, de jure proclamation of it.

The arguments proferred by authoritarian Leftists—who loathe the Founders’ conception of what constitutes just and legitimate governance to their very marrow—and those of Real Americans—who revere those noble principles, mourn their loss, and wish to see them restored to their rightful primacy—are wholly intractable. Tyranny and liberty are incompatible; sooner or later, the eternal conflict between them will be resolved. History shows that it will not, it cannot, be done peaceably unless one side acquiesces. The author knows this as well as the rest of us do:

We’re tempted to say that Codevilla’s vision aligns the nation more closely with its inception, with the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union — at least in that spirit. A looser federation of states and enhanced localities with Washington more focused on core functions — national defense being preeminent – would boost chances of the United States continuing as one nation.

But there’s a sticking point, and it isn’t trifling. In fact, for the nation’s elites (the oligarchs — Codevilla uses that descriptor, too) and the left, radical decentralization is precisely what they oppose. Whereas republican America would, and portions of Woke America may, welcome a significant decentralization, which amounts to a policy of “live and let live,” a radical centralization of the nation is what oligarchs and the left seek.

The oligarchs do so, principally, for power that leads to wealth. The left, which holds to Marxism, lusts for power and seeks wealth but also craves control over lives. Marxism — not judged by its blarney, but by its practice – demonstrates that it’s about hierarchy, concentrations of power, and control — not of an authoritarian stripe, but a totalitarian one, as history makes abundantly clear.

Today, these anti-liberty factions are playing a zero-sum game, and they’ve given no indications that they’re willing to compromise or are open to realignments of government that thwart their aspirations.

Which is precisely the tack Team Liberty must now take also. It was the starry-eyed “willingness to compromise” and blasé acceptance of “realignments of government that thwart their aspirations,” combined with their fatally-mistaken granting of an undeserved assumption of honest intentions and fair-mindedness to the Left that got us all in this mess.

Alas, this is where I must part ways with the author, who otherwise seems to grasp our conundrum more acutely than most.

Codevilla says that to rally and lead a national movement a galvanizing figure must emerge. He doesn’t appear to be keen on Trump, because he believes Trump is too self-focused. Here we disagree. Trump has largely galvanized Red or republican America. As president, despite relentless hostilities, he accomplished for the nation. He drew large audiences, in person and across mediums, including last Saturday night at an Ohio rally. Yet, the organization behind Trump has been inchoate and most often ad hoc. Trump may be the General Washington republican America needs. What he requires are able lieutenants who can effectively organize behind him.

In a word: NO. Trump’s time has passed. He had his opportunity, and whatever may have motivated him to do so, he failed to seize it. He may or may not have some part to play in what’s to come, I really couldn’t say. But he has shown himself to be a far less effective champion than Real Americans had hoped. Love him or hate him, when the rubber met the road he took his foot off the gas and stalled the car. I can no longer see him as the man to get the motor running again and drive us on to where we need to be.

With the closer, the article gets back in track.

A critical consideration is that the oligarchs and left would offer robust counters to republican America’s “defensive” offensives. The stakes are sky-high for them. We must grasp the nature of the enemy.

Men and women, bent on domination, and in many cases, with years of sweat equity invested in achieving their aims, aren’t going to be quickly deterred. They will fight and fight hard. As we saw during the Trump presidency, they have no compunction about using false accusations and illegality (Russia Collusion hoax), destroying reputations, brazen disinformation (the January 6 “insurrection”), resorting to election chicanery, stoking public fear as a means of manipulation (COVID lockdowns), and loosing Antifa and BLM to incite riots. Exposed in 2020 was the ugliness and, in fact, ruthlessness, of anti-liberty factions. They can get uglier and more ruthless without a doubt.

And they will. None but a fool could have any doubt about that by now. As has been more than amply demonstrated, they intend to rule. There is no length to which they won’t go to make that happen—none. Will we let them?

Which isn’t an argument against fully joining the fight and committing to nothing less than total victory. Republican America has plenty at stake, too: the rule of law and liberty. It’s simply to impart the understanding that in war — cold, hot, or somewhere in-between — it’s best to anticipate a greater intensity of conflict for a longer duration than decent people would hope, particularly when wars are civil in nature.

The status quo is unsustainable. The question is, can republican America win the day, ushering in a fundamental decentralization of the nation, thereby permitting divergent peoples to share one nation, bound by some traditions and some shared beliefs and aspirations? Perhaps. Or will this clash between very different worldviews lead to the permanent partition of America? Or will it boil down to a zero-sum game, with one or the other side prevailing? Much awaits future events.

There should be no further discussion of whether “republican American” CAN win the day. It’s deflating, demoralizing thumbsuckery, and we can no longer afford to indulge in it. “Republican America” MUST win, and that’s flat. No matter what it takes, no matter how distasteful the actions required of us, the alternative is far too terrible to contemplate.

Courtroom wrangling, legislative mucking about, the strongest imaginable words, idle daydreams of a way out that doesn’t involve resorting to violence against an enemy that has already done just that—none of these, alone or combined, are anywhere near sturdy enough tools to wreak a reconciliation between two adversaries whose commitment to diametrically-opposed beliefs is unswerving. He who flinches from battle has already lost the war. Try as we might to find another path, throughout human history it has always come down to the same, simple equation: One side must win. One side must lose.

We MUST not lose.

Self-defense is no defense

All Whypeepo are now legally required to let violent BLM boogs to murder them without resistance. Period, no ifs, ands, or buts.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — An Army soldier who shot and killed an armed protester after driving into a crowd demonstrating against police violence in the Texas capital last summer has been indicted on a murder charge, authorities said Thursday.

Sgt. Daniel Perry, who was stationed at Fort Hood, was booked and released on $300,000 bail, said Kristen Dark, a spokeswoman for the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

Perry’s attorney, Clint Broden, has said the soldier was working for a ride-sharing company and acted in self-defense after Foster pointed a gun at him. Broden issued a statement Thursday expressing disappointment in the indictment and confidence that Perry would be acquitted.
“It is important to note that the standard of proof required for an indictment is significantly less than the standard of proof required for a conviction,” the statement said.

No matter, Counselor. In Amerika v2.0, the process is the punishment.

Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza said in a press conference Thursday that the grand jury returned indictments against Perry for the charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a deadly conduct misdemeanor charge in the July 25 death of Garrett Foster, 28. He said the grand jury reviewed evidence from investigations by the District Attorney’s office and a three-week investigation by Austin officers, who reviewed over 150 exhibits and interviewed 22 witnesses. Garza said Perry declined to testify before the grand jury, but that Perry’s attorney did provide a packet with information, which was shared with the grand jury with the exception of details not admissible in a trial.

Garza said his office planned to request that Perry surrender his firearms, in addition to other conditions, for his release.

None of which he will ever see again, irrespective of their complete lack of relevance to the spurious “crime.” Theft of your property by law enforcement before you’re even tried, much less convicted, is just another grand aspect of the Amerikan “justice” system. I posted on Broden’s dire predicament last summer; in case you don’t remember the deets, GP’s got you covered.

Last summer Police confirmed that two people fired shots during an altercation in Austin between a motorist and a Black Lives Matter-Antifa protester, during which the protester was shot and killed.

Police say that the man who was killed, Garrett Foster, was armed and confronted the vehicle — but was not the other person who fired shots.

The Austin Police said during a late night press conference last July that Foster was carrying a rifle and may have approached the vehicle prior to the shooting.

Prior to being fatally shot, Garrett Foster said on camera that the “people who hate us” are “too big of p-ssies to actually do anything about it” when asked why he was carrying a rifle.

Yeah, turns out you weren’t entirely correct about that, now were ya, genius? Too bad, so sad, hate it for ya and all.

A still frame from footage of the incident appears to show Foster in a posture that looks like he was pointing a weapon at the driver.

One adult male victim was located with a gunshot wound,” the press officer said, before confirming he passed away at the hospital shortly after. “Initial reports indicate that the victim may have been carrying a rifle and approached the suspect vehicle. Suspect was in the vehicle and shot at the victim. Suspect was detained and is cooperating with officers.”

Perry had tried to get himself clear of the deadly chimp-out, got himself jammed up and surrounded by a group of raving, armed Changos, and then was approached and verbally threatened by the worthless oxygen thief he wound up having to shoot his way around. Laila has several exculpatory videos, which won’t matter either.

The fact is Sgt Perry was entirely in the right, and the only here tragedy is that he’s now being charged for the “crime” of defending his very life appropriately against a dangerous aggressor—which, strictly speaking, isn’t a tragedy but a travesty, a despicable abuse of power for purely political purposes perpetrated by the shitlib Austin asswipes now persecuting him. As for the waste of skin Garrett Foster, I’m damned glad he’s dead, and I sincerely hope that many, many more of his pestilential ilk wind up in the same condition very soon.

Kyle Rittenhouse, better take note, young man. Because your butt is next on the schedule to be caught in the blades of this abominable shitstain of a system. Actually, all Trad-American Persons Of Pallor need to take note; all of our asses are on that same schedule, whether we admit it or not.

Putting the helots in their place

This benighted country is nothing more than a sick, unfunny joke.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem took aim at the Biden administration from Mount Rushmore Sunday after federal officials this year rejected her bid to host a Fourth of July fireworks show at the famed monument.

Fireworks were reintroduced at Mount Rushmore for the first time since 2009 last year under Donald Trump, but the National Park Service (NPS) denied Noem’s permit request earlier this year. The NPS cited health reasons relating to coronavirus, wildfire risks, environmental concerns, and ongoing construction at the federal landmark — which is not set to be concluded by the Fourth of July.

Noem, a Republican, filed a lawsuit challenging the NPS decision.

“After telling us they’d ‘circle back,’ the Biden Administration has not responded to our request to uphold the Memorandum Agreement between the State of South Dakota and the National Parks Service to host a safe and responsible national celebration and fireworks show,” Noem wrote.

A federal judge rejected the challenge, ruling officials were justified in their decision.

But weeks after her bid was rejected to host the Independence Day fireworks display at Mount Rushmore, the Biden administration unveiled plans this month to host a similar display at the White House.

“What a hypocrite. President @JoeBiden wants “a summer of freedom” where we “mark independence from the virus by celebrating with events across the country,” Noem tweeted on June 15. “Translation: fireworks are fine at the White House, but not at Mount Rushmore.”

Mark “independence” from TheVirusTheVirusTheVirus!!™ by…banning the Mt Rushmore fireworks display because of TheVirusTheVirusTheVirus!!™, huh? Frankly, that’s about as perfect an in-your-face and upfront confirmation of where we now stand as I can think of. All the ingredients are there:

  • The irrational, supine cowardice of the Branch Covidians being played on by FederalGovCo out of pure pettiness and spite
  • The arrogant muscle-flexing of our patently illegitimate Occupation Government
  • The trotting out of the clapped-out Covid Con yet again as a display of authority FederalGovCo doesn’t lawfully possess but wields nonetheless
  • The smug, nearly boastful show of for-me-but-not-for-thee hypocrisy so typical of these vermin

Yep, this story really has it all.

What Noem ought to do is hoist a big, far middle finger in the general direction of Mordor On The Potomac and all its orcs by announcing she’s going to throw the biggest July Fourth party she can put together anydamnedway, then hold a press conference in which she explicitly dares DC’s dimestore dictators to do something about it. In addition to being riotously funny, a challenge like that from the Gov would be a most excellent way to declare the primacy of the heretofore-abandoned Founding principle of States’ Rights as well. But I won’t be holding my breath waiting for any such thing, and neither should you.

It just goes to reinforce my own long-held conviction that there is absolutely nothing to be celebrated on the Fourth of July, other than maybe to pay our respects to the achievements of much better men than ourselves. It ought to be considered a national day of mourning, until Real Americans have reclaimed their birthright, retaken their freedom, and re-established a national government that at least somewhat resembles the one they were bequeathed. Until such time, Independence Day only amounts to just another day off work, an excuse to throw some burgers on the grill and quaff lots of beer, nothing more.

Losing faith

I hate to say this, I swear I do, but sometimes I really wish that Trump would just shut the hell up already.

Trump issues statement on Gen. Milley; calls him liar, trying to ‘impress radical left,’ calls for resignation
Milley later issued an embarrassing and groveling apology for walking at my side to St. John’s Church, which far-left rioters almost burned to the ground the day before. Instead of denouncing the rioters, he denounced himself—a humiliation for our Military. A year later even the Fake News had to admit that their Lafayette Square narrative was a giant lie. Milley, once again, looked like a fool.

Now, in yet another desperate ploy to impress the Radical Left and keep his job, Milley made-up a false story that he yelled at me in the Situation Room. This is totally Fake News. If he had displayed such disrespect for his Commander-in-Chief I would have fired him immediately.

To further ingratiate himself with Biden, progressive Media, and the Radical Left, Milley went to Congress and actually defended Critical Race Theory being shoved down the throats of our soldiers. This Marxist, racist anti-American propaganda has no place in our Military—I banned these training programs, now Biden and the Pentagon have resumed them. As soon as possible, Congress must defund this racist indoctrination.

Gen. Milley ought to resign, and be replaced with someone who is actually willing to defend our Military from the Leftist Radicals who hate our Country and our Flag.

Understand: there’s no love lost for Milley around these parts—NONE. Not for him, nor for any other of the Politicized Perfumed Princes of the Puzzle Palace. I deeply respect America’s true and faithful warriors, however many of them are left after the recent purges, and hold them in the highest esteem. The wretched, backstabbing Blue Falcons of the higher command echelons—Milley, Austin, and the rest? Eh, not so much.

All that said, there’s a leeeeetle problem with Trump’s richly-deserved condemnation of the Wokester rumpswab Milley. At this point, it should be simplicity itself to guess what it is.

Trump Appoints Gen. Mark Milley Chairman Of The Joint Chiefs Of Staff
President Trump made the announcement via Twitter on Saturday.

“I am pleased to announce my nomination of four-star Gen. Mark Milley, Chief of Staff of the United States Army — as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, replacing General Joe Dunford, who will be retiring,” Trump wrote. “I am thankful to both of these incredible men for their service to our Country! Date of transition to be determined.”

Trump will attend the Army-Navy football game on Saturday afternoon. On Friday, Trump said he is nominating William Barr for attorney general, and Heather Nauert for U.N. ambassador.

“Ought to resign,” eh? Please tell me, if you can: WHY THE FUCKING FUCK did you appoint the lousy bastard in the first gott-damned place? Or, since you DID appoint his worthless ass, why did he not get the old heave-ho at the first intimation of his clearly duplicitous nature, something that became apparent pretty early on? What the hell ever happened to all that “I’ll hire only the best people” bushwa, anyway?

I know, I know. Trump was naive; he was too trusting; he was in over his head; he had no idea how bad things really were in the Swamp; he was beset on every side, had no support, all that. So stipulated.

BUT.

He was also President of the United States of America. That is NOT a purely symbolic office. While he was certainly hampered and hindered by all the Deep State anklebiting, he was by NO means without recourse, power, ability, or options, not at any point. No President is. Previous ones cleaned Executive Branch house upon first taking office as a matter of course, putting their own people in place throughout. Hell, his odious predecessor did that very thing. Trump swore all along that that’s what he would be doing.

But somehow, incomprehensibly and to not only his own but the nation’s detriment, he didn’t. Worse, even after repeated betrayals he allowed the selfsame scoundrels who had put their knives in his back to keep their cushy sinecures. Which only enabled them to do it again, and again, and again. The only one I can recall him firing right offhand was Comey, and that was well after the damage had been done.

No, don’t tell me why Trump couldn’t have fired these snakes-in-the-grass; he damned sure could have, and he damned sure should have. I don’t care to hear any more about why he couldn’t; what I’m interested in now is why he didn’t. Sure, the media and Demonrats would have screamed blue murder over it. So fucking what? They were going to anyway, and did, and still are.

Whatever the reason, if any, Trump passively let his enemies have their way with him, never lifting a finger to do what so obviously needed to be done: get rid of them. This out-of-character passivity not only cost him the Presidency, it may yet land him behind bars. Complaining about them now, saying they “ought to resign,” when he could have and should have taken action when he had the chance, is starting to sound too much like sniveling for my comfort.

Remember, this is the guy who for years hosted a highly successful and quite popular TeeWee show called The Apprentice, whose first-order raison d’etre was that on each episode…TRUMP WOULD FIRE SOMEBODY’S ASS. So we know that handing out the ol’ pink slips was not something he was ever reluctant to do.

Until he became President.

I still don’t think Trump is stupid. Nor is he weak, timid, indecisive, or incompetent. So I can come up with no reasonable explanation for the failure to exercise his clear prerogative as head of the Executive Branch to remove disloyal underlings who were openly defying and undermining him—many of whom were hired or appointed by him in the first damned place—and installing more trustworthy replacements willing to respect him personally and cooperate with him professionally. It’s beyond baffling.

What the hell is going on here, exactly?
