The Least Surprising Finding in History

Harvard scientist faked honesty studies

Harvard University business administration professor Francesca Gino has been placed on leave after a science blog accused her of faking study results, the New York Times reported on Saturday.

Faked results are so commonplace that they’re not even worth mentioning anymore. So why did I mention it?

The author of several best-selling books on topics including dishonesty and unethical behavior, Gino’s most recent work is ironically titled ‘Rebel Talent: Why It Pays to Break the Rules in Work and Life’.

The Black Knight

Another stunning find from what I now consider to be the greatest email list there is, was, or ever will be.

Is it true that there is an ancient alien satellite which is known as the ‘Black Knight’?
Yes. In fact, the reason we know it exists is that photos of it were taken during manned space missions in 1998.

It has been reported that it appears and disappears, does not show up on radar, it changes shape and it was in an orbit that was stable – meaning it had been there for a long time. This was reported to be known that neither we nor the Russians had put this into space.

As a result of these reports, it supposedly became the object of study by a lot of people and organizations around the world. Over the years, various researchers, news reporters, Youtube videos and amateur astronomers have made various claims about it.

It was reported to have first been seen and reported in 1958 – about the time of Sputnik but others have said it shows up in ancient writings as much as 13,000 years ago. It has also been reported that radio signals emanate from it and that Nikola Tesla was able to receive and decrypt those signals in 1898.

The generally accepted theory is that because we did not know what it was or who put it up there, it was seen as a threat to be analyzed and monitored. This went on for years during which time it was not seen for long period of time. Meanwhile, our technology for tracking and photography got better and better so the next time it was seen, it was tracked and photographed extensively. All the data was sent to the Air Force center for analysis by the best methods possible. Or at least that is what has been reported.

Those reports state that all that analysis paid off. They finally determined what it was and where it came from.

Fascinating, no? Read on for the slightly, ummm, deflating conclusion (yeah, I know—sorry, I couldn’t resist). Pics and vid included.

Amusingly enough, a while back I read a sci-fi novel about a mysterious object yclept “the Red Knight” which, thanks to the above, I now realize was a fictional analogue to the Black Knight of legend, which at the time I hadn’t ever heard of.

This Red Knight, see, was on its way to crash-landing somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, sparking a race to recover it amongst several sinister factions possessed of varying degrees of ill intent. As things worked out, the Red Knight had originally been put into geosynchronous orbit as Earth’s sole effective defense against some malicious entity which wouldn’t or perhaps couldn’t approach us as long as the Red Knight remained present and on the job to fend his malevolent ass off. Thus, the Good Guys had to obtain the object and get it back into orbit as quickly as possible, before the alien planet-devouring entity learned it had fallen and made its move against our lovely Blue Marble.

I remember enjoying the book, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was called or who authored the blasted thing. Seems like maybe it was part of an ongoing series, I’m thinking. MR Forbes, perhaps? I dunno, seems like the kind of thing he might write.

Triumphant update! HAAAAA! I found it, I found it! Turns out it was “Red Knight Falling,” one of author Craig Schaefer’s fantastic Harmony Black/Vigilant Lock series of novels, all of which I absolutely love. The Amazon write-up:

FBI agent Harmony Black and her team, Vigilant Lock, face a new type of threat: one from beyond the stars.

They’d always heard the Red Knight was an urban legend: in 1954, three years before Sputnik launched, a mysterious satellite was sighted circling Earth, though no power on the planet had such technology.

But the Red Knight is real, and what’s more, it’s inextricably linked to a supernatural force no one yet understands. Like a moth to a flame, this dark presence collides annually with the airborne satellite. Except this year the Red Knight is on course to crash-land…in Oregon.

Vigilant Lock sets out to find the crash site and secure the remnants before the mysterious power is drawn to Earth. But they soon discover the mission is far from straightforward—and they aren’t the only ones tracking the Red Knight. To stop a deadly occult threat, Harmony and her team must use all their resources: technology and sorcery, science and magic. Fortunately, Harmony has only begun to discover her growing power.

I highly recommend all the books in the Harmony Black series, along with Schaefer’s very-much-related Daniel Faust series. They’re all fun, gripping reads, if you’re into that sort of thing at all. Schaefer’s Amazon bio, from the same page:

About the Author
Craig Schaefer’s books have taken readers to the seamy edge of a criminal underworld drenched in shadow through the Daniel Faust series; to a world torn by war, poison, and witchcraft by way of the Revanche Cycle series; and across a modern America mired in occult mysteries and a conspiracy of lies in the new Harmony Black series. Despite this, people say he’s strangely normal. He lives in Illinois with a small retinue of cats, all of whom try to interrupt his writing schedule and/or kill him on a regular basis. He practices sleight of hand in his spare time, although he’s not very good at it.

The occult; Vegas intrigue; cracked-open interstices between Earthly reality and Hell itself; official governing boards staffed and chaired by demons which require incredible feats of human derring-do performed by a slick Vegas magician who has some very powerful cards up his sleeve, all while managing his love-affair with one of those demons, a beautiful shape-shifting wench named Caitlin whose uncle is in a power-struggle with…aww, never mind, I’m getting too far afield with this.

I ask you, though, what’s not to like? I repeat: highly, highly recommended. With all my heart and, um, soul, you might even say.

Another ‘Zon bio for Schaefer can be found here, author’s own website here.

Braggadocious update! Not to pat myself on the back unduly or anything, but I just had a thought.

  • Steers to some top-quality fiction about Hell, demons, seedy-but-slick Vegas magicians, conniving space aliens, ’n’ shit
  • Fun-with-linguistics challenges
  • Brutal, heartless rips on the sudden undoing of the now-defunct Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly The Weather)™ doomsay narrative and those who’ve pimped it
  • Extended ruminations on secession
  • RAYCISS™ diatribes
  • Bare-knuckles exposes of the literally-Satanic nature of FederalGovCo
  • Godawful post-title jokes
  • Cool write-ups on old music, old cars, and old Harleys
  • Professional wrasslin’, boxing, and street-brawling
  • Unbowdlerized cussing rendered with style, aplomb, and elegance—nossirreebob, there ain’t any of that gingerly, annoying *** mincing-around here, and ain’t never gonna be neither; as they say about getting old, this blog ain’t for pussies

And most of those within just the past few days, too. I gots to say that even after lo, these many years, the free ice cream here at Ye Olde Colde Furye Blogge still offers the best bang for your blog-buck in the whole dang ‘sphere. No need to thank me, gang, I’m happy to do it for y’all.

Helpful update! Forgot to do it before, but here’s the link to the Daniel Faust series, which I also wholeheartedly recommend.

Eyrie up!

Our weekender Substack crack-dose is now live and roaring for attention. Titled “Secession tour de force,” this installment constitutes an extended run at the legendary Michael Anton’s recent Asylum piece exploring the contemporary to-and-fro’ing over what’s looking more and more like an issue Americans will be wrangling over until the heat death of the universe, if not longer. Try a little on for size:

And there you have it: the whole danged Liberty vs Tyranny issue, boiled down to its constituent parts in just three short sentences. 53-foot trailerloads of compelling if unsettling reading left yet, incredible as that may seem, touching on All The Things—from ethnic cleansing to white supremacism to Neegrow reparations (ie, Dollars for Darkies) to Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly The Weather)™ to Stalin and Pinochet and, momentarily, Tucker Carlson, before Tom finally says fuck this shit, throws up his hands, and shags his happy ass on back to the good ol’ Republic of Texas.

Like I said, it’s a long ‘un, but seeing as how this is, or soon will become, one of the most urgent, impactful debates of our time, its pivotal nature nicely balances out any objection to the length of the piece. With this magisterial, thorough, and timely work, presented in a conversational rather than a professorial tone, what Mike Anton has done is provide us with a quite useful, readily comprehensible study guide which adroitly explicates every angle, every historical predicate, every position, and every possible motivation and/or rationalization driving said debate, on both sides.

Like Anton’s, my own stab at this beast is long, but I think you’ll find it well worth your time and attention, as is Anton’s. As I’m so fond of saying, go ye and read of both of them, for They. Are. Good.

WE’RE ALL DEAD! Women and children hardest hit, film at 11

Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly The Weather)™ is officially o-v-e-r OVER, there’s no longer either need for nor use in worrying about or even mentioning it ever again. Mark it on your calendars, folks, because as of yesterday, June 22—according to “a top climate scientist” as quoted by a moderately well-known teenager with some neurodevelopmental issues, which affliction she prefers to refer to as “her superpower”, in the grand old shitlib tradition of comforting self-delusion—it is too late to do anything to save ourselves, like eliminating all usage of “fossil fuels.”

Nope, no use in even trying now; we’re all as good as dead, and that’s flat. Homo sapiens sapiens entire is absolutely, positively headed for the bone orchard, probably sooner than later, although no specific date has yet been given for the Big Die-off. According to Teh SCIENCE!™, the extinction of all humanity is now a dead cert, and completely irreversible. So,  y’know, act accordingly. Might as well throw a big party, that’s what I think.

Of course Greta Thunberg was wrong about fossil fuels
Climate activist Greta Thunberg tweeted five years ago that catastrophic climate change will wipe out humanity unless the world forgoes fossil fuel usage and ceases consumption.

But to Thunberg’s dismay, her prediction didn’t exactly pan out. On the contrary, realizing this, she quietly deleted her tweet in March in anticipation of Wednesday’s anniversary. While gone, it forever lives in our hearts as a reminder not to fret over reactionary, alarmist predictions.

Aww gee, I sure do hate it for the wee on-the-spectrum harpy. The heart bleeds just thinking about how very disappointed she must be; the Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly The Weather)™ religion has seduced, then betrayed another True Believer by dumping another tremendous letdown on her poor addled noggin. Since, according to her own forecast, there’s no longer any use in scolding everybody else about the goddamn climate, wonder what she might be planning to do with the rest of her life now?

How was Greta wrong? Let the WashEx count the ways.

In fact, humanity has sustained itself today due to continued fossil fuel usage, not in spite of it.

Let’s begin with oil, which is often blamed for our societal woes. Despite being assigned a dirty image by preservationist environmentalists, it’s the lifeblood of civilization and an essential resource here in America. Could you imagine our first-world society without oil? Life would be miserable, uncomfortable, and harder. Petroleum and its byproducts are ubiquitous in our daily lives. We fuel our cars, boats, and homes with it. Our clothes are derived from it, as are our cellphones and computers. It’s inescapable. Why get rid of it?

Another unappreciated energy source is natural gas. It’s arguably a clean-burning fuel that produces lower emissions. During the Trump administration, the U.S. became a net exporter of liquefied natural gas ( dubbed “molecules of freedom”), propelling our nation into energy independence while continuing to lead the world in overall emissions reductions.

Natural gas stoves, for example, are found in over 40 million homes and are preferred by 90% of chefs . Why? They boast faster conduction rates, make meals tastier, and are more economical to use compared to electric stoves. But these benefits, sadly, haven’t stopped many elected Democrats — along with the Department of Energy and the Consumer Product Safety Commission — from trying to phase them out through unrealistic “electrification” efforts.

Last but not least is coal, a common scapegoat of environmentalists despite it being an abundant domestic energy source.

Coal is undoubtedly reliable for heating and powering homes. Globally, it remains the top source of electricity generation and will remain one for years to come despite nations, including ours, closing down plants and curbing its mining. Additionally, there are myriad nonenergy uses, such as cement production, medicines, and carbon fibers. Metallurgic coal also happens to be a key component to steel, a popular building material.

Coal, oil, and natural gas cumulatively supply nearly 80% of American energy. This industry also supports nearly 13 million jobs and pumps billions into the economy. Additionally, continued use of these resources will help families save an average of $2,500 a year in energy expenses. And paradoxically, fossil fuels make intermittent clean energy sources such as solar and wind possible.

To be fair about it, I guess we really shouldn’t be so hard on poor little Greta the Greenhouse Grinch; after all, she’s but the latest in a long, “distinguished” line of auto-beclowning Leftard enviro-nuts whose we’re all gonna DIIIEEEE!!! screeching and preaching didn’t exactly pan out.

Moar fun with language

The debate earlier this week about the proper use, intentional misuse, and abuse of the English language got me thinking about another fun aspect of this: phrases people use all the time that actually mean the exact opposite of, negate, or otherwise contradict the sentiment expressed by the words. Examples:

  • Forgive me for saying
  • With all due respect
  • I really shouldn’t say this
  • No offense/pun/irony intended
  • Not for nothing, but

CF linguistic scholars should feel free to add more in the comments as and when they occur to you. I look forward to seeing what y’all reprobates come up with.

Q: Is Satan literally in charge of FedGovCo?

A: Probably so, yes. And if he WASN’T, then what would he be doing differently, pray (!) tell?

FBI Director Wray leads diversity training with White House official with famed pentagram tattoo
Two years after the FBI allegedly pulled a mandatory “sexual orientation and gender identity” course amid negative reviews from employees, the bureau incentivized employees to attend its Pride Month event – featuring a White House official known for his pentagram tattoo and pentagram-shaped leather harness – by offering credit toward mandatory training.

It’s sponsored by the FBI’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and led by Director Chris Wray, according to the screenshot. The speaker is the deputy coordinator for national monkeypox response Demetre Daskalakis, who will discuss “the importance of LGBT+ [sic] visibility in the government and health care industry.” The White House confirmed to Just the News that Daskalakis was the speaker.

Wray honoring Daskalakis “makes it obvious why they’re trying to shut down traditional Catholics having Latin Mass and treating disgruntled parents at school board meetings like domestic terrorists,” Trump administration Assistant Attorney General Jeff Clark tweeted, referring to widely criticized proposals for investigation within the bureau.

I’d say it does, yeah, but then maybe that’s just me. All too much more on this out-in-the-open minion of The Great Enemy who has infiltrated the highest levels of our central Leviathan-state over at the AoSHQ shop, as well as other darkly related events that must inevitably leave those of us who aren’t lesser demons, imps, and high sorcerers and/or mages asking themselves: just what the very Devil is going on here, anyway?

Sorry, no reveal here because, y’know, spoilers. But if you really don’t know the likeliest answer by now, you can just read the Book of Revelations (a/k/a The Apocalypse of John) to find out.

The Father Of Lies running the Empire Of Lies? I dunno, maybe it’s been right in front of our faces all along, and we just haven’t wanted to admit it to ourselves.

A becoming humility

Quora provides a sterling example of one of Man’s finer qualities.

Rik Elswit
Musician for 60 years. Professional musician for 55

What are some rock songs that were just filler, but became huge hits?
My band went into the studio to make our fourth album after having had to declare bankruptcy in order to get out of a contract with CBS records where we were getting no support. Nobody would even take our phone calls.

So we signed with Capitol, and went to work at Pacific Recorders. This is where we found out that our manager/producer was of little use in the studio without having the CBS engineers holding his hand for him. We released three singles off it that he was sure would be hits, and they all stiffed. Finally, in frustration, the brass at Capitol actually ordered him to release our cover of Sam Cooke’s “Only 16”, which we’d recorded simply as fill to flesh out the album.

This was a tune that we had begun playing at gigs just because we liked to play it. Our lead singer really got it, and it was just like home. The sort of thing we could do in our sleep. We produced and arranged it ourselves, and it only took a couple hours, total, to get it in the can. We were even breaking up a pound of monstrously good smoke in the drum booth while we were doing the sweetening. I had to hand the scales off to the drummer when they called me out to lay in the guitar solo and fills.

It went gold. We had worked our own way out of bankruptcy on our own, and we made Sam Cooke’s widow very happy.

FOURTH album? Jumping from a contract with CBS over to Capitol, seemingly at will? A gold record the result of said major-label leap? One can only assume that this Rik Elswit fellow must be, or at least once was, a real Somebody in the music biz.

As it turns out, we quickly learn from the comments that one would not be entirely incorrect in one’s assumption.

Neil Matthews
I’d like to give Rik’s answers more upvotes, it’s a glimpse of what Quora could be; informative answers to genuine questions by someone who knows what they are talking about.

Huw Pritchard
No small amount of humility either – I’ll be honest, I ended up googling Rik because I didn’t know his name but figured out it might be an interesting search.

If I was in his shoes I’d start everything I wrote with “I was in Dr Hook for 13 years”, even if it wasn’t relevant to the answer.

Well, I will be dipped in shit, how ’bout that? For those of you out there who are a hell of a lot younger than me, here’s Rik Elswit’s band’s biggest hit—in days of old, when knights were bold, and condoms not invented.

And what the hell, since Rik mentioned pounds of weed, and it popped up after Dr Hook in my YewToob list, PLUS it’s still one of the songs that make me bounce around in my seat the hardest, let’s do this thing.

Man, you might not agree, but in my book that’s about as good as the rock GETS, right there.

Update! Okay, since I’m on something of a roll here and all. Rik mentioned major-label tapeworms refusing to even take the band’s calls back in their darkest days just before the dawn, so what do you suppose that reminded me of? Why, this, of course.

Just occurred to me that, if someone stumbled in here who didn’t know me personally and got a load of these, shall we say, wildly electic musical selections I’m always putting up here, then found out I mostly listened to classical music radio all day long, they’d probably think I was schizophrenic or something.

Says it all update! While we’re on the topic of rock and roll, I hijacked this from shit the great Ken Lane posted on Fakebook.

AC DC3BlocksAway

Really, what more can one say but: Heh.

Awestruck

That’s my visceral response to what I think just might be one of the most well-written and -constructed, punchy, and just plain fun to read paragraphs I ever did see, by our good friend and colleague Fran Porretto. Dig, if you will:

Gentle Reader, if you’ve never reflected on the penchant political columnists possess for bending, folding, stapling, and mutilating our sacred language into shapes unimagined by the greatest origamists in human history, now would not be a bad time to start. And for a bonus dollop of illumination: that phrase “would not be a bad time to start” is called a periphrasis. It’s a technique for using negatives to convey a positive suggestion. Paradoxically, this underscores the positive notion. It has the side benefit of making the user sound like W. Somerset Maugham.

See what he did there? A judiciously light dusting of alliteration early on; a reference to “our sacred language,” which I do NOT consider at all hyperbolic or over the top, as I do that “sacred democracy” twipe being thrown around WAY too often nowadays; a direct slap at “journalistic” manipulation via a metaphor so colorful and bright it dazzles; the paradoxically entertaining and educational “bonus dollop of illumination”; lastly, a sly Somerset Maugham reference, which I hope to God I will never come to think of as a bad thing.

That’s the penultimate (well, give or take) ‘graph of a brief post on Doublespeak which is richly deserving of your time and attention, from whence I gleaned a truly rollicking Spencer piece I had til now overlooked. To wit:

Imagine this scenario: a wildly unpopular and manifestly incapable president is running, however haltingly, for reelection. Initially he seemed like a lock, but then he encountered an unexpected challenge from a scion of an old American political family, a man who defies all the conventional categorization of political candidates and has set the establishment on its ear by challenging not only the superannuated corruptocrat in the White House but many of that establishment’s most cherished assumptions.

It would make a great novel, but it’s real life, and it’s an exhilarating reminder that America is still a republic, still a place where the elites can be challenged at all, however entrenched they may appear to be. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has not only challenged the elites, he has frightened them to the core, and that’s wonderful to see. The latest indication of how much of a threat they consider him to be comes from the Los Angeles Times, always a reliable organ for far-Left propaganda. The Left Coast Times is so scared of RFK Jr. that on Monday, it proclaimed, “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a threat to your health — and our democracy.”

Now, this is absurd on its face and an insult to the intelligence of the handful of remaining Los Angeles Times readers. The Left has now become so divorced from reality that Times writer Michael Hiltzik would have us believe that a contested Democrat party primary is bad for “our democracy.” But a full-out coronation of Old Joe to serve another four years as the figurehead for the shadowy individuals who are really running things? Why, that would be “our democracy” personified. One candidate, inevitable outcome? Good democracy! Two candidates, unclear outcome? Bad democracy!

For the millionth time, we don’t have a “democracy,” we have a republic. But the key point here is that, once again, Leftists have confirmed the fact that when they talk about “our democracy,” they don’t actually mean anything democratic at all. They are referring not to any kind of democracy, but to their own hegemony. The only “democracy” that involves one candidate receiving the forced adulation of the masses and reelection by acclimation from all those who don’t want to end up in the gulag is the type that is practiced in states such as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, also known as North Korea.

The North Koreans will happily explain to you how the personality cult of Kim Jong Un is the very embodiment of the popular will and thus the quintessential expression of “democracy,” and that’s what Michael Hiltzik and the Los Angeles Times have in mind for the folks at home. “Democracy” means we all learn to love Old Joe, or whomever the elites decide ultimately to replace him with. It doesn’t mean that we actually have a choice between different candidates, unless those candidates all have elite approval, and RFK Jr. decidedly does not.

Nobody out there ought to be holding their breath waiting for me to endorse RFKjr, lest they end up purple-faced, suffocating, and deeply disappointed. That said, I do enjoy the fact that—as one Donald John Trump also did not so long ago—he gives the creeping fantods to a whole bunch of people I despise from the very depths of my gizzard.

Humanity Ends. No one notices.

The five year anniversary is upon us. Our doom is upon us!

I don’t know about any of you but I feel mighty busy and irritated for someone who’s been wiped out.

To be fair, the Swedish sex kitten didn’t herself say that we’d be dead by this date. The “top climate scientist” didn’t say it, either. The claim was that our doom is unstoppable at this point because we didn’t stop using fossil fuels.

We need to accept that the claim was true. No, I’m serious. If the species is going to be wiped out no matter what, then we can put an immediate end to all of this renewable energy nonsense, pointless carbon capture, and all the rest. None of it will make any difference any more, so we might as well enjoy our inevitable slide to doom.

The incredible arrogance of the Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly The Weather)™ cult

The latest installment of Mike Walsh’s continuing series examining the scam of the century.

Having failed to destroy us with the Covid Hoax (even the loathsome Facebook nazis have given up on it), the Left has now moved “climate change” front and center as the international left’s preferred soul-sapping means of destruction. Based on the small (in the cosmic scheme of things), 140-year-old sample of randomly gathered temperature data, jealous and vengeful cultural Marxists have decided to extrapolate from cherry-picked, manipulated, and massaged data to convince a gullible and trusting public that the world is coming to an end any day now, unless we act now. Like sleazy used-care salesmen, they employ scare and pressure tactics in order to get you to work against your own best, self-preservative instincts and willingly destroy infrastructure, cripple food production, kill sea life, and incinerate forests.

The key to their successful sowing of confusion can be found in the Heisenberg Principle, which states: “we cannot know both the position and speed of a particle, such as a photon or electron, with perfect accuracy; the more we nail down the particle’s position, the less we know about its speed and vice versa.” In popular understanding, this term of physics is expressed thus: the act of observing a thing changes its behavior and the closer it is observed, the more its nature becomes unclear. Or, if you stare at the word “cat” long enough, you can convince yourself that “cat” is misspelled.

The same is true of the “science” of “climate change.” No one from the ancient Greeks to the mid-Victorians would have seriously entertained the notion of “man-made climate change” were it not for the relatively recent invention of rudimentary means of measuring temperature and forecasting the weather. Armed with this little bit of knowledge, we have now created — in our own minds — the dangerous thing called “climate change.” Take that, Aristotle!

The evidence-free assertion of man-made “climate change” is easily disproven without resorting to a shred of Heisenbergian data. Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant (no matter what the man-made Environmental Protection Agency says) — unless, that is, you subscribe to the Leftist Suicide Cult theory that mankind itself is a pollutant. If you do, then there’s no help for you; seek psychiatric help. Further proof is provided by actual climate history, whose only constant state is one of continual change. In case you doubt that, pay a visit to any important art museum with a large landscape collection. Finally, look at the calendar, walk outside, note how the weather is pretty much exactly what you would expect in your region for this time of year and ask yourself: do I really believe we have only a few years to save the planet? Of course you don’t. The planet is doing just fine.

At which point Walsh embeds that classic George Carlin vid I’ve deployed here myself more than once, wherein Carlin dismisses the monumental arrogance behind the patently risible notion that we mere hoomons, rather than being a small, relatively recently-arrived part of the much-larger planetary ecology, are somehow outside of it, apart from it, in conflict with it, and now constitute a serious, credible threat to its continued existence. Following that, Walsh goes on to make an assertion that I myself have made over and again (which I’ll put in bold so’s you can’t miss it):

The simplest way to defeat the “climate change” hysterics would have been to ignore them, but they are relentless little devils who won’t stop until they are stopped. Unfortunately for the sane among us, they’ve enlisted those lovable scamps of the madcap Corporate Media to raise hysteria to such a fever pitch that a great many otherwise sensible people actually take a disturbed, saturnine child like Greta Thunberg seriously.

Well hey, any weapon in the armory, y’know, any tool in the box—whatever might be useful to them, they’re gonna use, and straight to hell with any- and everybody who might not like it. Credit the soulless, amoral monsters with this much, at least: they DO know how a war must be waged if one intends to win the damned thing. Not for-real shooting wars, of course, just their phony ones.

Tucker on Twitter

Episode 5 is another real sockdolager, to appropriate the colorfully descriptive words of renowned linguist Huckleberry Finn.

I think it safe to say that being dumped by Faux News is probably the best thing that ever could have happened to Tucker Carlson; the gloves are now officially off, and it’s a delight to watch it as it happens.

Update! Just in case you weren’t aware of it yet, here’s a backgrounder on what Tucker is talking about.

So what is the much-vaunted Department of Justice doing, anyway? The DOJ wrote in a Tuesday letter to a Wilmington court that Hunter Biden agreed to plead guilty to two tax offenses, and “has agreed to enter a Pretrial Diversion Agreement” for lying on a gun application and possessing an illegal firearm.

To summarize, Hunter Biden is accused of foreign influence peddling and taking (and coordinating) bribes for himself, his uncle, and his powerful father to the tune of millions of dollars. He (and his father, who was then vice president) are accused of working to shut down an investigation into a Ukrainian oligarch’s oil company by getting the prosecutor fired. And today, the DOJ accepted a guilty plea on what The Washington Post calls “two minor tax crimes,” and admitted to the basic facts around the gun case, agreeing to enter “diversion programs” and serve two years probation.

At long last, Hunter Biden is in the clear. He has answered for his crimes, and his father has shown his commitment to the rule of law and the principle that no man is above the law. It’s all over.

At least that’s what Hunter’s legal team reportedly thinks, according to CBS. And it fits with congressional Democrats’ long-running claims that there’s nothing to see here, and even if there is it’s already been investigated and it’s fine, so let’s move on.

Tuesday’s plea deal is the equivalent of taking a watering can to a house fire and calling yourself a firefighter. They will do that anyway, of course. Far from a sign of justice to come, expect today’s ruling to serve as a cudgel for Biden partisans across the DOJ and the corporate media to hit outraged (and out-of-power) Republicans with. Justice served, indeed.

Stuff and nonsense. The Repukes won’t require any cudgeling, since they’ll be perfectly happy to follow their D卐M☭CRAT caporegimes’ lead here, as always—maybe puff and blow a little bit for the Enemedia cameras on how this whitewash proves that IMPARTIAL JUSTICE!!!™ is still alive, well, and functional in Amerika v2.0, just to keep up appearances—right before they quietly help their partners in crime sweep the whole sordid mess under the rug, never to be mentioned publicly again.

Not a chance

A typically spot-on Anton column I somehow missed when it first appeared, via our esteemed comrade-in-blogarms JJ Sefton.

They Can’t Let Him Back In
The people who really run the United States of America have made it clear that they can’t, and won’t, if they can help it, allow Donald Trump to be president again. In fact, they made this clear in 2020, in a series of public statements. Simply for quoting their words in an essay for The American Mind, I was mercilessly mocked and attacked. But they were quite clear. Trump won’t be president at noon, Jan. 20, 2021, even if we have to use the military to drag him out of there.

If the regime felt that strongly back then, imagine how they feel now. But you don’t have to imagine. They tell you every day. Liz Cheney, Trump’s personal Javert, has said that the 45th president is literally the greatest threat facing America today—greater than China, than our crashing economy, than our unraveling civil society.

That’s rhetoric, of course, but it isn’t merely that. It’s safer, and generally more accurate, to assume that your adversaries mean what they say. If you doubt this, ask yourself: When was the last time they acted more moderately than they talk?

Indeed so. Michael soldiers bravely on at some length from there, all of which you’re gonna want to make time to read and digest. He walks us through Shitlib Plan A, B, C, and so on, to wind up the festivities with their Plan F, which concluding ‘graphs I simply can’t resist putting up here.

Which leaves Plan F, which they have already sketched in broad outlines. I don’t know exactly what form it will take, but they have made clear that “under no circumstance” can Trump be allowed to take office again. Among the “circumstances” covered by the word “no” would seem to be an Electoral College majority, or a tie followed by a House vote in Trump’s favor.

What happens then? Well, in the words of the “Transition Integrity Project,” a Soros-network-linked collection of regime hacks who in 2020 gamed out their strategy for preventing a Trump second term, the contest would become “a street fight, not a legal battle.” Again, their words, not mine. But allow me to translate: The 2020 summer riots, but orders of magnitude larger, not to be called off until their people are secure in the White House.

On Sept. 20, 1911, the RMS Olympic—sistership of the ill-fated Titanic—collided with the Royal Navy cruiser HMS Hawke, despite both vessels traveling at low speeds, in visual contact with one another for 80 minutes. “It was,” writes maritime historian John Maxtone-Graham, “one of those incredible convergences, in full daylight on a calm sea within sight of land, where two normally operated vessels steamed blithely to a point of impact as though mesmerized.”

Our sea isn’t calm, nor are our vessels normally operated. But we do seem headed for a point of impact, with the field of vision before us as clear as it was on that day. And the regime isn’t changing course. It must want this—or else is so high on its own supply that it can’t see what it is doing.

Rest assured, if what I fear might happen, happens, we will be blamed for it. And the fire next time will make their reaction to Jan. 6 look like a marshmallow roast. I don’t know which possibility is scarier: that they haven’t thought any of this through, or that they have.

Precisely so, but you should have no doubt that they’re gonna do it anyway. These megalomaniacal jackwagons seem not to be worried terribly about the powderkeg they risk igniting thereby, which speaks volumes about whether or not they’re really “afraid” of us.

Real Americans, therefore, must see to it that they get their “streetfight” in a way they don’t anticipate but won’t soon forget—to the very hilt of the knife, as a reminder that they damned well ought to be afraid of us. Otherwise, the very concept of liberty is done for, and ourselves along with it.

Comments policy

NOTE: In order to comment, you must be registered and approved as a CF user. Since so many user-registrations are attempted by spam-bots for their own nefarious purposes, YOUR REGISTRATION MAY BE ERRONEOUSLY DENIED.

If you are in fact a legit hooman bean desirous of registering yourself a CF user name so as to be able to comment only to find yourself caught up as collateral damage in one of my irregularly (un)scheduled sweeps for hinky registration attempts, please shoot me a kite at the email addy over in the right sidebar and let me know so’s I can get ya fixed up manually.

ALSO NOTE: You MUST use a valid, legit email address in order to successfully register, the new anti-spam software I installed last night requires it. My thanks to Barry for all his help sorting this mess out last night.

Comments appear entirely at the whim of the guy who pays the bills for this site and may be deleted, ridiculed, maliciously edited for purposes of mockery, or otherwise pissed over as he in his capricious fancy sees fit. The CF comments section is pretty free-form and rough and tumble; tolerance level for rowdiness and misbehavior is fairly high here, but is NOT without limit.

Management is under no obligation whatever to allow the comments section to be taken over and ruined by trolls, Leftists, and/or other oxygen thieves, and will take any measures deemed necessary to prevent such. Conduct yourself with the merest modicum of decorum, courtesy, and respect and you'll be fine. Pick pointless squabbles with other commenters, fling provocative personal insults, issue threats, or annoy the host (me) and...you won't.

Should you find yourself sanctioned after running afoul of the CF comments policy as stated and feel you have been wronged, please download and complete the Butthurt Report form below in quadruplicate; retain one copy for your personal records and send the others to the email address posted in the right sidebar.

Please refrain from whining, sniveling, and/or bursting into tears and waving your chubby fists around in frustrated rage, lest you suffer an aneurysm or stroke unnecessarily. Your completed form will be reviewed and your complaint addressed whenever management feels like getting around to it. Thank you.

"I predict that the Bush administration will be seen by freedom-wishing Americans a generation or two hence as the hinge on the cell door locking up our freedom. When my children are my age, they will not be free in any recognizably traditional American meaning of the word. I’d tell them to emigrate, but there’s nowhere left to go. I am left with nauseating near-conviction that I am a member of the last generation in the history of the world that is minimally truly free."
