Chickens, forsooth!

Passing strange, innit, how in these proto-Apocalyptic times a topic so previously innocuous as the humble yardbird should come to seize so much of a once-great nation’s attention. Today, we have a cpl-three of such stories dominating the news cycle. First up, something I’m going to preemptively declare the feel-good story of the week.

Close call for animal rights protester after neck chained, pinned to duck slaughter line in Petaluma

Yes, I know, I know, it’s ducks, not chickens. Whatevs.

PETALUMA, Calif. (KGO) — Officials now say approximately 80 protesters attempting to stop operations at a duck farm in Petaluma were arrested on Monday.

Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department, with help from several nearby police departments, arrested members of Direct Action Everywhere (DXE), after they trespassed onto Reichardt Duck Farm.

According to a press release by the Sonoma County District Attorney, two to three hundred protesters were bused to the farm that morning and illegally entered the farm grounds.

A smaller group headed for the processing line where they stopped a conveyor belt, removed the ducks and used bike locks to attach themselves to the conveyer belt.

Unfortunately, the belt was switched back on by someone and it moved as protesters were still attached.

In the handout video provided by animal rights group Condition One, protesters scream for the belt to be stopped.

One man can be seen, his face turning red seemingly struggling to breathe, in distress.

Regrettably, the douchebag survived. Ah well, better luck next time. Next up, looks like the flood-tide of illegal crossings at our southern border has mysteriously reversed direction.

Ill’egg’al Immigration? Black Market for Eggs Growing at Southern Border, Seizures Up 300%

Think about your mindset only three years ago. Did you ever envision an America where eggs would cost as much, if not more, than a pack of cigarettes? In your wildest dreams, did you ever think that there would be a black market for eggs? There are a lot of eggs-cellent theories as to the eggs-tenuating circumstances on why this is now a reality, and eggs-citing wouldn’t be the way to describe it.

Okay, I apologize. I’m done. Please eggs-cuse me.

KENS – San Antonio reported that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said that they’ve “seen a 300% increase in egg seizures within the past month.”

What’s even crazier is that the inflation that President Joe Biden’s regime downplays as not a big deal now has Americans looking to Mexico for groceries because of the economic and agricultural failures of said regime.

“I think we’re getting lot of new travelers that are going abroad to get their grocery lists stocked up because of the current increase of prices,” CBP public affairs specialist Francisco Rodriguez said.

People are literally trying to smuggle eggs into the U.S. from Mexico because of the outrageous prices in some areas for a carton of a dozen eggs.

While the price of a dozen eggs is much higher than the national average, that average — as of December 2022 — the price for “Large white, Grade A chicken eggs, sold in a carton of a dozen” was at $4.250. That national average, according to Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED), is $1.284 more than the previous high for a dozen eggs, recorded during former President Barack Obama’s administration in September 2015.

For context, FRED has data on the price eggs going back to January of 1980. That means that the current price of eggs is the highest on record — and it’s not even close.

When data collection began in January 1980, the price of eggs was $0.879 a dozen. The price ebbed and flowed over the years, never reaching above $2 per dozen until the second term of former President George W. Bush.

Our federal government needs to stop “allegedly” manipulating the supply through strangulating legislation and allow farmers to farm as they see fit.

Okay, now that’s just crazy talk. Lastly, if you think the price of eggs is bad now, just you wait.

Estimated 100,000 hens killed in Connecticut farm fire, officials say

An estimated 100,000 hens died in a weekend fire at a Connecticut farm owned by one of the country’s largest egg producers, Connecticut officials confirmed Monday. It’s one of several such fires that have killed millions of chickens around the country over the past decade.

The blaze Saturday at the Hillandale Farms property in Bozrah, about 30 miles southeast of Hartford, drew dozens of firefighters from the area and took hours to put out. The cause remains under investigation. No people were injured.

The state Department of Agriculture said it appears approximately 100,000 egg-laying hens died. It credited farm employees and emergency responders with preventing more hen deaths by containing the fire to one of the farm’s several buildings.

The agency also said the impact on egg prices was expected to be “minimal to none.”

Remember, this is a government “expert” talking here, so you can be assured that this assertion is one hundred percent true and accurate.

Trust: who do ya?

The Empire Of Lies is building a trust-free society for its hapless subjects. Let’s see how that works out for ‘em in the end.

You Can Trust ’Em

Survey after survey shows that trust in American society and institutions is at an all-time low. To paraphrase the poet songwriter Bob Dylan, “who can ya trust, besides yourself?”

Since trust ensures the stability of society and its myriad of institutions, when it evaporates, what’s left? Chaos, polarization, perhaps violence. When you review all the markers of the loss of trust you get a headache and considerable heartburn.

Politicians are trusted least, at just above zero percent. Business leaders a bit more and lawyers a tad less. Teachers and professors used to rate high but no longer. Pastors, rabbis, and priests have fallen to new depths. With marriages in disrepair, relationships superficial at best, and even families at war (thanks, Spare “Haz“), what are we going to do?

Would you trust the FBI, given the bureau’s known duplicity and fabrications?

Would you trust the IRS, with or without guns, after Lois Lerner and all the tax scams and political audits?

Would you trust Sloppy Joe with any classified documents, foreign cash earmarked for the “Big Guy,” and all that predatory behavior?

How about social media after the Twitter files exposed how they worked with the deep state to throttle back conservatives and actively spread disinformation?

Would you trust any of the medical-health players, the CDC or FDA, let alone Big Pharma, to tell us the truth about anything after COVID and the harmful experimental vaccines and unnecessary lockdowns? How about the godlike master bureaucrat Fauci?

What about mainstream media? We all know of their inherent structural bias and failure to engage in any form of accurate and fair journalism. That’s why they wear the moniker “fake” so well.

The woke and eco-terrorists who go on and on about the end of the planet every year surely shouldn’t be trusted. We are still here, after all, and so is the polar ice cap. Al Gore and John Kerry are arch-hypocrites. Do you trust them one bit?

You should be able to trust the local school system to educate your children, no? Now they won’t even award merit certificates to those who earned them for fear of disappointing those who didn’t. Teachers’ unions are clearly in it for themselves, not the children. No trust working there.

Nor anyplace else, near as I can determine. Which sad, sorry fact is gonna cost all of us very dearly before it’s all said and done. It’s impossible to Fundamentally Transform™ a high-trust society into a no-trust one without destroying it utterly.

Yep, a Grindr date gone bad, that’s what this was.

There’s nothing about this that doesn’t look weird, Sebastian. A shit-circus, a freakshow, a maelstrom in a madhouse, that’s what.

Puppetmaster switcheroo

Ladies and gents, it appears we have ourselves a new President.

Jeff Zients to replace Ron Klain as President Biden’s chief of staff: report

Former Obama administration official Jeff Zients is reportedly a likely replacement for Ron Klain as President Biden’s chief of staff.

Politico, citing three unnamed sources, reported Sunday that Zients, a close Biden confidant who ran the White House’s COVID-19 response, is widely expected to step into the role.

Klain, 61, is believed to be stepping down from the job, and has apparently been saying he’s been ready to leave since the 2022 midterms.

Zients, 56, would step in as Biden is marred by scandal over classified documents found at the Biden family’s personal residence. On Saturday, a lawyer for Biden announced federal investigators had found more classified docs — some dating back to Biden’s long Senate tenure.

There is no apparent connection between Klain’s impeding departure and the classified docs scandal.

Think so, do ya? Because from where I sit, it sure has the look of rats fleeing a sinking ship as the classified-docs scandal keeps right on getting deeper, broader, and worser.

Pick one, fool

Proving yet again that Pedo Joe knows not what he says. Or does, or…well, you name it, really.

Oops: Joe Biden Just Torpedoed the Left’s Entire Jan. 6 ‘Insurrection’ Narrative

As Rick Moran noted on Tuesday, Old Joe Biden just boasted again about how powerless patriots are against his all-powerful and increasingly authoritarian federal behemoth. Biden practically thumped his chest as he declared: “I love my right-wing friends who talk about” – and here he mockingly imitated their dramatic tones – “‘the tree of liberty is water of the blood of patriots.’ If you need to work about taking on the federal government, you need some F-15s. You don’t need an R– AR-15.”

Has any president in American history so delighted in taunting his citizens? And has anyone noticed how Biden, in a single mangled quip, just destroyed two years of the Left’s painstaking work in constructing the Jan. 6 “insurrection” narrative?

Biden’s quote from his “right-wing friends,” “the tree of liberty is water of the blood of patriots,” was, as Rick noted, a garbled version of Thomas Jefferson’s adage: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.” Biden was saying, of course, that in our age, such sacrifices were fruitless: the federal government is so powerful that it is unassailable, and so as its tyranny grows, unless patriots can somehow get hold of some fighter jets, they were out luck.

All right, Joe. Point taken. But wait a minute here. On Jan. 6, 2022, Biden stood in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and said solemnly: “One year ago today, in this sacred place, democracy was attacked — simply attacked. The will of the people was under assault. The Constitution — our Constitution — faced the gravest of threats.”

Then on Jan. 6, 2023, he said it again: “Two years ago, on January the 6th, our democracy was attacked. There’s no other way of saying it. The U.S. Capitol was breached, which had never happened before in the history of the United States of America, even during the Civil War. A violent mob of insurrectionists assaulted law enforcement, vandalized sacred halls, hunted down elected officials — all for the purpose of an attempt to overthrow the will of the people and usurp the peaceful transfer of power.”

As we have come to expect from Joe Biden, none of this was true, not even the bit about how the U.S. Capitol had never before been breached in American history. Back in 1814, just before Old Joe entered the Senate, the British burned the Capitol building. Then in 2007, Biden told David Letterman that he himself had breached it, accidentally, at age 21 (which was in 1963, kids, 59 years ago).

Biden claimed fancifully that he wandered into the Senate chamber: “In those days, no guards stopping you everywhere. And they just got out of session. I walked in the back, all of the sudden I found myself in the chamber. I was stunned. I walked up, sat down in the presiding officer’s seat, guy grabbed by the shoulder, said: ‘you’re under arrest.’” Joe is well-established as a serial liar, so this story is best taken with a massive amount of sodium and serves as a reminder that the alleged president can by no means be taken at his word.

That’s doubly true for his nonsense about how the defenders of “our democracy” on Jan. 6, 2021 were “outnumbered and in the face of a brutal attack,” but nonetheless, “our democracy held. We the people endured. And we the people prevailed.” The Jan. 6 protesters were not armed. Was there ever really any possibility that they would actually overcome the combined force of, as Joe enumerates them, “the Capitol Police, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, the National Guard, and other brave law enforcement officials”? They had no leader (with the highly questionable exception of Ray Epps), no plan, no goal, no weapons. They were let into the Capitol by police officers who held the doors open for them.

Which is where they fucked up; next time around, they’ll need to correct that grievous error. You simply don’t go in to beard the lion in his very den without arming up first, and there were enough patriots on hand that day that, had they been carrying AR15s, the outcome would have been very, very different.

My heart bleeds

Aww, that’s a shame, I hate it for ya.

NYC mayor Eric Adams says the city is at ‘breaking point’ as 400 asylum seekers arrive EACH DAY – and submits an emergency aid request to Gov. Kathy Hochul to help shelter hundreds of migrants
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said the city has reached its ‘breaking point’ as 400 asylum seekers arrive at the Big Apple every day.

Adams has submitted an emergency mutual aid request to the state and Gov. Kathy Hochul asking for immediate help over the weekend to house the incoming migrants.

‘We are at our breaking point,’ Adams said. ‘Based off our projections, we anticipate being unable to continue sheltering arriving asylum seekers on our own.

‘Our initial request is for shelter to accommodate 500 asylum seekers, but, as New York City continues to see numbers balloon, this estimate will increase as well.’

Yeh, yeh, yeh. Tell it to El Paso, or any other of a huge number of Texas border towns, whydon’tcha.

The plea for help comes a week after Colorado joined the list of states busing migrants to New York City to alleviate the burden for those near the southern border and to get the asylum seekers to their preferred destination.

Adam’s office noted that the city has received more than 3,100 asylum seekers in the previous week, averaging about 400 each day, with 835 arriving on Thursday alone.

‘All this is pushing New York City to the brink,’ Adams said. ‘Since last spring, the city has stepped up to welcome approximately 40,000 asylum seekers, providing them with shelter, food, and connections to a host of resources.

Which still amounts to a mere drop in the proverbial bucket of the tsunami of illegals the border states have been inundated by, for years now. This next bit of blue-on-blue, friendly-fire aggression, though, is something kinda new.

The mayor also appeared to take a swipe at the Biden administration and federal lawmakers over the lack of solutions at the border, which saw a spike in illegal immigration in recent months.

‘The absence of sorely needed federal immigration reform should not mean that this humanitarian crisis falls only on the shoulders of cities,’ Adams said.

Sez you, Mr “In this house, we believe that no human being is ‘illegal’.”

‘We need support and aid from our federal and state partners and look forward to working together to meet this crisis head-on.’

Always with the beggar’s-hand out with these smarmy asshats, innit. Quelle surprise, that.

Later in the piece, Mayor Whinezalot bleats and moans about how very, very “unfair” it is that Colorado is joining the ever-lengthening list of much-put-upon states who have decided to shift a mere tithe of their wetback burden to NYC, but “unfair’ is hardly the right word here. Forcing self-proclaimed “sanctuary” cities like NYC to put their money where their self-righteous yaps are at last and share in a problem they did a great deal to help create is the very definition of “fair.”

Things fall apart

Mayor Pete Buttplug, sinking like a stone in a post that’s manifestly way too big for his lightweight, candy-ass to even be able to keep his head above water in, is ON. THE. JOB. So fear not, travelers!

Mayor Pete’s planes, trains and automobiles
Biden’s transportation secretary is terrible at his job. Would a straight man get away with it?

I refuse to dignify that stupid, self-answering question with a response.

Almost a year ago, the Federal Aviation Authority, under the helm of transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg, announced that the aviation briefing known as NOTAM, or Notice to Airmen, would undergo a name change. NOTAMs are unclassified notices distributed from an aviation authority to all pilots that contain essential information regarding conditions, hazards, system concerns, or other flight operations. NOTAM, Mayor Pete’s Department of Transportation declared, wasn’t gender inclusive and, as of December 2, 2021, it should henceforth be referred to Notice to Air Missions, not Airmen.

While Mayor Pete preoccupied his department with scrubbing the bigotry out of an acronym, it never occurred to the Biden administration’s Chief Diversity Hire that the system itself might need some tending-to. That was until this morning when an outage caused the NOTAM system to fail and all flights in the US were grounded for several hours, something that hasn’t happened since 9/11.

Today’s FAA system failure came just weeks after Southwest Airlines ruined Christmas when its outdated computer system led to thousands of canceled flights — something that the transportation secretary brazenly mocked, seemingly unaware that the Biden administration had given billions of dollars in handouts to Southwest, with no oversight. As he wagged his finger at the airline, Mayor Pete was oblivious that his own computers might need a tune-up.

But bothersome tasks like keeping the planes flying, or the cargo ships moving, or the railroads secure, aren’t very sexy for Mayor Pete — who famously harvested a couple of babies from surrogates then went on “paternity leave” in the middle of a supply chain crisis. Being blindsided by catastrophe, as happened this morning, seems less like a bad day at the office for Pink Privilege Pete and more like a lifestyle choice.

Not so much. Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by simple incompetence. And that, Pete Buttplug most certainly is, was, and ever shall be.

Lest we forget: Mayor Pete’s legacy as mayor of South Bend, Indiana, the only elected office he’s held, amounted to the fact that he couldn’t fix the potholes. Now he’s in charge of transport for the world’s largest economy, where he’s done little else than fuss over problematic acronyms and grandstand about racist roads and prejudiced bridges, while flying on private government jets to soccer matches in Europe and still finding time to post cringe on Instagram with his Navy Yard hausfrau Chasten.

Did I mention that, in addition to being incompetent, Buttplug is also lazy? Because, y’know, he is.

Bottom line: Pete Buttplug is yet another diversity hire in a ruling junta crammed stem to stern with ’em. Yet somehow, inexplicably, we see that everything is caving in around our very ears all of a sudden-like. Gee, could it possibly be that what the shitlibs have gleefully misnomered “diversity” doesn’t really equate to “strength” after all?

Nah, perish the thought. I HEREBY DENOUNCE MYSELF FOR BADTHINK™!

Gas stove blowup

No, there really is NOTHING they’ll leave alone.

CPSC Withdraws Proposal to Ban Gas Stoves;Left Wing Goes From Claiming The Right Is Crazy To Oppose Banning These Racist, Climate Destroying Stoves, To Claiming the Right Wing Is Crazy To Claim the Left Ever Wanted to Ban Them
—Ace
Via Jazz Shaw at Hot Air, Richard Trumpka, Jr.’s trial balloon about banning gas stoves in the name of Racial Justice — really about climate “justice” — went over like a lead balloon, further convincing the country that the Biden Administration and the Democrats would not stop until they had poked every single American citizen in the eye.

And so they issued a “clarifying statement” that they were just totally kidding when they said they were considering banning gas stoves.

Ace then hips us to Doc Zero’s characteristically-deft takedown.

“The Right’s new fight” HA HA HA HA

This is the funniest and most blatant habit yet of the Left picking a fight out of nowhere and then blaming normal people for waging a “culture war” when they push back.

They do this all the time. It’s a standard tactic of totalitarianism. When the Party launches a political crusade, and you resist, YOU’RE the aggressor. If resistance actually thwarts the crusade, you’re a monster. If you question the New Truth of the Party, YOU’RE the attacker.

This is happening even faster than I predicted yesterday, probably because the War on Stoves trial balloon exploded in flames while the lefties were still downloading their new programming. They’re confused and angry.

You had lefty blowhards on Twitter in the middle of shouting their new War on Stoves talking points yesterday when the Biden administration suddenly backed down. It’s like pulling the chip out of a Terminator while it’s in the middle of emptying a magazine at Sarah Connor.

Look at how prominent dingbats like AOC played it, with classic Orwellian “we have always been at war with Eastasia” full-steam ahead gusto: We have ALWAYS known gas stoves were dangerous. Everybody knows this. It has ALWAYS been an urgent crisis.

This started a few days ago with a single Biden apparatchik floating a ban based on a fraudulent “study” from a whack-job activist group, but they were told to believe it was some longstanding consensus and THANK GOD SOMEONE IS FINALLY THINKING ABOUT THE CHILDREN.

The only way to salvage that half-downloaded program still bubbling in the heads of so many lefty robots is to concoct a new narrative that says the opponents, the resisters, ATTACKED and are OBSESSED and were probably organized by paid stooges of Big Stove and Big Gas.

It’s the same tedious, but far too effective, playbook they use with every social issue, a totalitarian method of shifting the political landscape by claiming every bit of ground you aggressively seize has been yours forever, and those trying to take it back are the attackers.

Hmm, now let me see here.  The actual statement:

Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka, Jr., told Bloomberg in an interview this week that a ban was “on the table” for gas stoves, which research has linked to health problems including asthma.

Products that can’t be made safe can be banned,” Trumka told the media outlet. Trumka also highlighted the health dangers of gas stoves in an appearance last month before the Public Interest Research Group.

“We need to be talking about regulating gas stoves, whether it’s drastically reducing emissions or banning gas stoves entirely,” Trumka told PIRG, adding that a ban “is a powerful tool in our toolbox and it’s a real possibility here, particularly because there seem to be readily available alternatives already in the market.”

Yep, another clear-cut case of Nothing To See Here Folks, No Really, Trust Us, as my boldface above incontrovertibly proves. Damned Reich-wing nutjobs, their baseless hysteria, and their own lying eyes.

Lying liars gotta lie

That would, of course be the lyingest liar of them all, Pedo Joe Bribem.

🧵 THREAD: 21 MADE-UP STORIES BIDEN HAS TOLD ABOUT HIMSELF AS PRESIDENT.
1. Biden claimed — on multiple occasions — he “used to drive” an 18-wheeler.

Biden **rode** in an 18-wheeler once nearly 50 years ago. He’s never driven one.

2. Biden claimed multiples times he spoke to the “inventor” of insulin.

Multiple scientists are credited with discovering insulin; two died before Biden was born and there is no evidence Biden met the others.

3. Biden claimed he “had a house burn down with my wife in it” and said they “almost lost a couple firefighters.”

In 2005, Biden’s house had a “small” fire that was contained to the kitchen and “there were no injuries.”

4. Biden claimed he was “raised in the Puerto Rican community” of Delaware.

There is no evidence of this, of course.

In Delaware in 1970, only 2,154 people — 0.39% of the state population — were of Puerto Rican descent.

Oh sure, but what about in 1904, when Old Jaux was born?

5. Biden said he remembered “spending time” and “going to” the Tree of Life synagogue after the 2018 shooting.

The synagogue said Biden never visited.

6. Biden claimed he served as a “liaison” to Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir during the Six-Day War.

Biden was in law school during the war and Meir wasn’t even prime minister.

Plenty, plenty, PLENTY more where that came from, and even this, voluminous as it is, is by no means a comprehensive list. The Twitchy folks close out their article with the apposite question.

So is he lying? Or is he too damn old to remember what is and isn’t a lie?

Maybe we should just embrace the power of AND.

Hey, that’s MY line.

What a worthless piece of shit pRetend “pResident” Pedo Joe is. May every single minute of every single day he spends in the office he usurped and now besmirches burn him like scalding water. After pursuing it with single-minded, fanatical dedication for many decades, may his time there be a resoundingly miserable experience, yielding him not one whit of happiness or peace.

20 Superheroes

Please note the absence of capes.

Dozens of prominent conservatives, including a former attorney general for the Reagan administration, released a letter Wednesday in support of the 20 House Republicans standing between Rep. Kevin McCarthy and his bid for the speakership.

“Months ago, these members made clear that this established way of doing things was no longer acceptable,” the Conservative Action Project letter said. “Rather than engage them in a good faith negotiation, Rep. Kevin McCarthy has instead maligned both the requests and the messengers. He has publicly and through proxies leveled attacks against members of his own party, including threatening to deny committee assignments for those who continue to oppose him.”

Some of the signees included Edwin Meese III, former attorney general for Ronald Reagan, Ginni Thomas, president of Liberty Consulting and wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Jim DeMint, chairman of the Conservative Partnership Institute and former U.S. senator.

Composite pic of these true American heroes, screengrabbed off of GP:

The White Hats
God bless ’em all for standing strong and tall

God bless ’em indeed, every one. The spectacularly entertaining futility of Kevin’s Folly continued through today with a historic (most since 1859, I believe it is) eleven ballots held sans denouement and will pick up again tomorrow at noon, so as to allow all the august national “leaders” time to recover from their throbbing hangovers and hunt around in the closet and under the bed for whatever pitiful scraps of dignity they may once have had, if any. Aesop pithily analyzes the doin’s.

Much funnier than watching Moscow try to take Kiev, and almost as funny as watching Emperor Stumblefuck Poopypants try to form coherent sentences without crapping himself.

And for all the punditry that claims “conservatives” never conserved anything: HTF do you expect them to do that, when there are apparently only 20 of them out of 222 nominal Republicans in the House? (And that’s probably a high-water mark in the last 50 years.)

BTW, we note in passing, there is no requirement anywhere whatsoever that the Speaker of the House be a sitting congressweasel. Which means, just for giggles, that the Republicants (not a typo) could, if they so chose, elect President Donald J. Trump to the post, and there’s fuck-all anyone else could do about it. He would thus preside over the entire run of the 118th Congress in the House of Representatives, assign committee seats, decide what bills moved forward for voting, etc., yet without a vote himself on any bills.

Just for the comedy factor, it’d be a YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE win, while emphasizing the smallness and ineptitude of Emperor Poopypants to serve as the selected Fraudulent.

Just saying.

And I’m just agreeing, brother. Alas, with the willful destruction of the supply-chain and all, I fear the nation’s available popcorn supply is gonna wind up falling FAR short of demand before this all shakes out completely. Meanwhile, no money is being spent; no unnecessary, redundant, and/or meddlesome legislation is being passed; and the essential gridlock so wisely hard-coded into the system by the Founders remains in effect, for the nonce. For which blessing we can all be thankful.

Update! Close. No cigar.

It is clear that Republicans in Congress are upset.

They have every right to be.

But it’s McConnell, not McCarthy!

DUDE, embrace the healing power of AND, ferchrissakes.

You will ALL become one with the Borg

Whether you like it or not.

Genvax Technologies, a startup dedicated to bringing advances in self-amplifying mRNA (saRNA) vaccine production to animal health, has secured $6.5 million in series seed funding.

United Animal Health led the financing with participation from Johnsonville Ventures, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Summit Agricultural Group and Ag Startup Engine. This investor coalition represents animal health, nutrition, feed, meat packers and consumer products in the fight against existing and emerging threats to the food supply chain.

“The threat posed to producers and consumers by foreign animal diseases like African swine fever (ASF) and constantly mutating variants of swine influenza is extraordinary,” Joel Harris, CEO and co-founder of Genvax Technologies, said in a release. “The goal is to develop a vaccine that matches 100% to the specific strain when a disease outbreak occurs.”

The company’s proprietary saRNA platform allows for rapid development of herd-specific vaccines matched 100% to the variant strain circulating in an animal-production operation. By inserting a specific transgene or “gene of interest” (GOI) matched to the variant strain into the platform, the saRNA can generate an antibody response without requiring the whole pathogen, Genvax explained.

Over to Bayou Pete for the truly scary part.

Sounds exciting, doesn’t it?…until one comes to the bit about “inserting a specific transgene or “gene of interest”. Wait a minute.  You’re going to inject a new gene, distributed using the same mRNA technology that’s blamed for many of the COVID-19 vaxx side-effects, into our food supply?

If this goes on, how can we trust pork and pork products to be safe to eat? Oh, the technologists will doubtless scoff at such fears, and assure us that there’s nothing to worry about – but they said that about the COVID-19 vaccines as well, didn’t they? Look how well that’s worked out!

It’s not just pork, either. Other meat products may find themselves treated in the same way. For that matter, scientists have already spoken of inserting mRNA vaccines into vegetables and fruit. What if, over time, our entire food supply becomes a carrier of this stuff?

I may not be a scientist, and I lack their perspective on this: but I can’t help thinking that this may be one of the most dangerous, most potentially threatening technologies ever developed. The further away we can keep it from our food supply, the better, as far as I’m concerned.

Whodathunkit? After dreading the possibility of race war, civil war, religious war, revolutionary war, &c for all this time, it may well turn out that a war of the Purebloods versus the Vaxxed is the likeliest prospect of them all.

RuiNation

Anybody who has ever worked for a medium-to-large-sized corporation in America has experienced this same sort of thing. Even working for a small, strictly-local B-drayage hauler in the air-freight business for many years, I most certainly have.

What happened to Southwest Airlines?

I’ve been a pilot for Southwest Airlines for over 35 years. I’ve given my heart and soul to Southwest Airlines during those years. And quite honestly Southwest Airlines has given its heart and soul to me and my family.

Many of you have asked what caused this epic meltdown. Unfortunately, the frontline employees have been watching this meltdown coming like a slow-motion train wreck for sometime. And we’ve been begging our leadership to make much needed changes in order to avoid it. What happened yesterday started two decades ago.

Herb Kelleher was the brilliant CEO of SWA until 2004. He was a very operationally oriented leader. Herb spent lots of time on the front line. He always had his pulse on the day-to-day operation and the people who ran it. That philosophy flowed down through the ranks of leadership to the front-line managers. We were a tight operation from top to bottom. We had tools, leadership and employee buy-in. Everything that was needed to run a first-class operation. When Herb retired in 2004 Gary Kelly became the new CEO.

Gary was an accountant by education and his style leading Southwest Airlines became more focused on finances and less on operations. He did not spend much time on the front lines. He didn’t engage front line employees much. When the CEO doesn’t get out in the trenches then neither do the lower levels of leadership.

Gary named another accountant to be Chief Operating Officer (the person responsible for day-to-day operations). The new COO had little or no operational background. This trickled down through the lower levels of leadership, as well.

They all disengaged the operation, disengaged the employees and focused more on Return on Investment, stock buybacks and Wall Street. This approach worked for Gary’s first 8 years because we were still riding the strong wave that Herb had built.

But as time went on the operation began to deteriorate. There was little investment in upgrading technology (after all, how do you measure the return on investing in infrastructure?) or the tools we needed to operate efficiently and consistently. As the frontline employees began to see the deterioration in our operation we began to warn our leadership. We educated them, we informed them and we made suggestions to them. But to no avail. The focus was on finances not operations. As we saw more and more deterioration in our operation our asks turned to pleas. Our pleas turned to dire warnings. But they went unheeded. After all, the stock price was up so what could be wrong?

We were a motivated, willing and proud employee group wanting to serve our customers and uphold the tradition of our beloved airline, the airline we built and the airline that the traveling public grew to cheer for and luv. But we were watching in frustration and disbelief as our once amazing airline was becoming a house of cards.

A half dozen small scale meltdowns occurred during the mid to late 2010’s. With each mini meltdown Leadership continued to ignore the pleas and warnings of the employees in the trenches. We were still operating with 1990’s technology. We didn’t have the tools we needed on the line to operate the sophisticated and large airline we had become. We could see that the wheels were about ready to fall off the bus. But no one in leadership would heed our pleas.
When COVID happened SWA scaled back considerably (as did all of the airlines) for about two years. This helped conceal the serious problems in technology, infrastructure and staffing that were occurring and being ignored. But as we ramped back up the lack of attention to the operation was waiting to show its ugly head.

Gary Kelly retired as CEO in early 2022. Bob Jordan was named CEO. He was a more operationally oriented leader. He replaced our Chief Operating Officer with a very smart man and they announced their priority would be to upgrade our airline’s technology and provide the frontline employees the operational tools we needed to care for our customers and employees. Finally, someone acknowledged the elephant in the room.

But two decades of neglect takes several years to overcome. And, unfortunately to our horror, our house of cards came tumbling down this week as a routine winter storm broke our 1990’s operating system.

The frontline employees were ready and on station. We were properly staffed. We were at the airports. Hell, we were ON the airplanes. But our antiquated software systems failed coupled with a decades old system of having to manage 20,000 frontline employees by phone calls. No automation had been developed to run this sophisticated machine.

We had a routine winter storm across the Midwest last Thursday. A larger than normal number flights were cancelled as a result. But what should have been one minor inconvenient day of travel turned into this nightmare. After all, American, United, Delta and the other airlines operated with only minor flight disruptions.

The two decades of neglect by SWA leadership caused the airline to lose track of all its crews. ALL of us. We were there. With our customers. At the jet. Ready to go. But there was no way to assign us. To confirm us. To release us to fly the flight. And we watched as our customers got stranded without their luggage missing their Christmas holiday.

I believe that our new CEO Bob Jordan inherited a MESS. This meltdown was not his failure but the failure of those before him. I believe he has the right priorities. But it will take time to right this ship. A few years at a minimum. Old leaders need to be replaced. Operationally oriented managers need to be brought in. I hope and pray Bob can execute on his promises to fix our once proud airline. Time will tell.

It’s been a punch in the gut for us frontline employees. We care for the traveling public. We have spent our entire careers serving you. Safely. Efficiently. With luv and pride. We are horrified. We are sorry. We are sorry for the chaos, inconvenience and frustration our airline caused you. We are angry. We are embarrassed. We are sad. Like you, the traveling public, we have been let down by our own leaders.

Herb once said the biggest threat to Southwest Airlines will come from within. Not from other airlines. What a visionary he was. I miss Herb now more than ever.

Whether they know of him specifically or not, many people do. Or almost certainly will, as time grinds on.

The American economic juggernaut was built on the idea that people would start at the bottom of any given enterprise and work their way up based on experience, talent, and knowledge of the business from soup to nuts. Alas for us all, the advent of the MBA replaced that excellent system with nebbish dweebs coming in from outside to “manage” the business without ever having set Foot One on a loading dock, factory floor, or assembly line in their entire lives, which has all but done away with any concept of making it on merit. Those overcredentialed-but-undereducated, shiny-loafered, smug college-boy types have been nothing but sand in the gears of what was once the mightiest wealth-producing engine in all of history.

Look back in anger sorrow

Diplomad takes a look in the ol’ rearview, not just at the disastrous annum just past, but a lot further back than that.

This is where I go full old man.

This no-good, horrid year of 2022 draws to a close–none too soon for my taste–and I can only hope that 2023 will prove better. Will it? While I have no great powers of observation and foretelling, what little I do have tell me that things will not get any better. Sorry to be so cheerful.

The impending death of the current year has me reflecting on my own life, and what I have done and not done with it.  First, my own life. What have I done? Not much really. I spent some 34 years in the State Department; my tenure there will pass, as they say in Spanish, “sin pena ni gloria,” i.e., unnoticed one way or another. I devoted my adult life to what I thought was my country, its values, and interests. I am now wracked with doubts that that was the case. As we see from the “Twitter Files,” the doubts I had about what was really going on have proven out. I am deeply saddened and depressed by that. Those institutions with which I worked closely for so many years, e.g., FBI, CIA, DOJ, have turned out to be the real enemies. The Taliban, AQ, PRC, or the USSR, could not undermine our nation to any degree comparable to what has been done by our high-tech mafia, allied with the pro-regime media, and the key institutions of the Deep State. The enemy is here; they are in our house, and as we so graphically see every day on our border are openly working to tear it apart. Not just here. I see the same happening in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and all over Western Europe.

The assault on the values, even the most basic ones, of our civilization is relentless. The world we leave our grandchildren is a horrid one: Twerking drag queens in our libraries and schools; feral youth owning the streets; malicious cretins dominating our legal, educational, and public health institutions; an entertainment industry promoting violence and perversion. Not cheerful.

Given the way things currently stand, only a fool, a hermit, or a still-slumbering Rip Van Winkle could be.

White man’s burden

The Dark Continent was anything but a peaceful, idyllic paradise well before the first European Whypeepuh ever set foot on the blighted shitpit.

I confess I was quite skeptical about Gilley’s book, given the needlessly incendiary title. Defending German colonialism, given that any story of late 19th and early-20th century German history will inevitably be wrapped up in that country’s condemnable behavior in two world wars, seems a curious intellectual enterprise for a professional academic (and for readers with more liberal sensitivities, it’s likely to be downright offensive). Not only that, but in a time when America’s post-Cold War foreign policy has been defined by constant overreach that has exacerbated various crises (e.g. regional political instability, anti-American Islamic extremism, migration), it seems a bit tone-deaf to be arguing that Western intervention around the world — especially when the West’s power is diminishing — is something to be encouraged.

Nevertheless, regardless of the strength of Gilley’s defense of German colonialism, the story he tells, substantiated by extensive historical documentation, does quite a bit to undermine popular narratives in America about pre-colonial Africa and the African colonial experience. For starters, the peoples inhabiting what would become Germany’s African colonies were far from innocent peoples living in harmony with each other and nature. Human sacrifice was common among at least one of the tribes of Cameroon. Slavery was common across both Namibia (southwest Africa) and what would become the colony of German East Africa (present-day Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and part of Mozambique).

The Nama and Herero peoples, both of whom had migrated to Namibia only a generation before the Germans (and displaced other indigenous African tribes such as the Damara people in the process), were engaged in bloody, genocidal warfare. In 1850, the Nama massacred a fifth of the Herero population in a single day. The Herero raided native Damara and Saan villages, killing all but the young and strong, whom they exploited as slaves. Many escaped to the Germans. Writes Gilley: “Even if left to their own devices, the Herero and Nama would not have lived in idyllic bliss tending healthy herds of cattle and hosting multiethnic community barbecues.”

Our anti-Western conceptions of colonial Africa are equally misinformed. In 1904, a policy in German East Africa decreed that all children born to slaves beginning in 1906 were free. Moreover, between 1891 and 1912, more than 50,000 slaves in the colony were freed by legal, social, and financial means. By 1920, slavery had virtually been eradicated from the region.

German East Africa was also environmentally conscious, codifying laws prohibiting unlicensed elephant hunting and creating the first game reserves. It promoted education by natives: By 1910, there were more than 4,000 students in state schools. “The Germans have accomplished marvels,” noted a 1924 British report on local education initiatives. The education system in German colonies provided instruction in local histories, cultures, and geographies, as well as technical subjects common in German curricula. Because of this, local language media prospered. “German transformed Swahili from a coastal language of Muslim elites to the lingua franca for the future country of Tanzania,” writes Gilley.

The Germans provided free and accessible medical care for many Africans. They engaged in extensive agricultural and infrastructure projects in Namibia, including roads, railways, water holes, and port facilities. A German scientist developed a vaccine that saved native cattle from a catastrophic illness. The Germans built a 1,250-kilometer railway linking Lake Tanganyika to Dar es Salaam, which to this day “remains the lifeblood of Tanzania’s economy and of Zambia’s trans-shipment traffic.” Economies previously based on slavery transitioned to coffee.

Africa’s most insuperable problem remains the same as it always has been: the horrid place is full of Africans.

But what, you ask, does Africa have to do with the recently-manufactured-from-whole-(kente) cloth “holiday” Kwanzaa? Why, not one single, solitary thing, natch.

Spanning from Dec. 26 to the first of January is Kwanzaa, the invented African American holiday celebrated solely by white liberals and clueless public school teachers. Overblown by leftist claiming the holiday has immense cultural significance, a survey by the National Retail Foundation discovered only 1.6 percent of Americans celebrate Kwanzaa.

The “holiday” was created in 1966 by Ron Karenga, who renamed himself Maulana. Karenga, the founder of the United Slaves, a violent rival organization to the Black Panthers, created the holiday for black Americans and derived the name “Kwanzaa” from the Swahili phrase “matunda y kwanza,” meaning “first fruits of the harvest.” That’s about the extent of the deep African roots the official Kwanzaa website claims.

Guess the extra “a” in Karenga’s dimwitted misspelling lends it extra authenticity. Or, y’know, something. Oh, and do be sure to thank the Germans, Ronnie, for bringing you the Swahili tongue you’re misspeaking, fool.

The history of the holiday and Karenga has been seamlessly suppressed by leftists who find the facts inconvenient. Since few know its origins, the current definitions of the celebration are usually nonsensical and made up, much like the holiday itself.

FrontPage Magazine’s Paul Mulshine writes that “the history of the founder of Kwanzaa has disappeared into an Orwellian time warp.” Indeed, CNN informs readers that Kwanzaa’s violent, racist founder was “a black nationalist and professor of Pan-African studies at California State University at Long Beach,” omitting his criminal and misogynistic past.

Karenga is currently a black studies professor at California State University, Long Beach where the administration is apparently untroubled by the fact that this radical racist is also a convicted torturer of women. Despite the troubling past of Kwanzaa’s founder, leftists continue to shove this fake holiday down America’s throat every Christmas.

Yeah, well, fuck them all to Hell and gone, as always. That said, what Kwanzaa celebration would be complete without a stinking-blotto Granny Boxwine slurring and slobbering her way around the stupid fucking word?

Heh. Well said, ya haggard old soak.
