Alliance of convenience

Gotta be the most unlikely one of all time, methinks.

Socialism and Islamic Supremacism: Two Strange Bedfellows Aiming to Destroy Our Republic
Both want to change our system of law. Both hate the United States and Western civilization. And both detest Christianity. They also, by forming an alliance, become the strangest of bedfellows. They are socialism and Islamic supremacism in America — and both forces are growing.

Socialism, under the name “Democratic Socialists of America” (DSA), is quickly dropping its mask. Its new platform, released last week, calls for eliminating the Senate and having a wholly empowered Congress choose the president and Supreme Court. The DSA also wants to convene a second constitutional convention to make the preceding possible. The idea is to draft new founding documents guaranteeing a “socialist democracy.”

Political activist and Islamic supremacist Linda Sarsour is a bit less ambitious — at least in her overt pronouncements. She at this moment just wants to replace the Declaration of Independence with a document reflecting “our [read: their] values.” Whether this would be a Declaration of Dependence or a Declaration of Dependence on Allah, she didn’t say.

Then there’s a development Sarsour would surely endorse. Right from the Pressing 1 for English file, commentator J.B. Shurk reported Monday:

On social media platforms last week, videos spread of a Home Depot shopping experience in Dearborn, Michigan. Signs throughout the store were in Arabic.

Shurk further mentions that other Dearborn retailers — such as Walmart, Costco, Kroger, and Albertsons — also post Arabic signs.

As to the Islamic supremism-socialism nexus, the DSA has a “Muslim Caucus” (but no Christian Caucus, do note). Prominent Muslim members include Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D-N.Y.C.). Another Muslim representative, Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), is DSA-endorsed.

One may think there’d be friction between devout Muslims and devoted leftists. There has been, too. In 2023, Hamtramck, Michigan — the first American city with an all-Muslim government — banned the “Pride” flag from public property. The old-line Democrats that had been ousted by the Muslim Democrats weren’t happy about it, either. But Hamtramck’s new overlords didn’t care. Oddly, too, the legacy media didn’t feel compelled to combat this anti-“LGBTQ+” “bigotry.” They imitated crickets.

And this may be a portent of things to come.

Oh, I’d say that’s a safe enough bet, yeah.

Update! Kunstler posts a fresh, intriguing take on the latest flavor-of-the-day-of-the-week sub-branch of the D卐M☭CRAT Party.

In the meantime, there is plenty else to concern those of us who care about our country, and Western Civ more generally, on the home front. Here comes the Insane Clown Posse of the Democratic Socialists. Their platform: abolish the police; no more jail for criminals; open borders; amnesty for all border-jumpers; abolish the Senate; Abolish the electoral college (House of Representatives to elect the president); defund the War Department; voting rights for all non-citizens; “wealth” taxes; free housing, food, medical care for all; green new deal laws; free Palestine (which is more important than any place else on Earth)!

Oh, and they are quite out-front about merely using the Democratic Party as a means to acquire power. Yeah, you noticed that already? Nobody actually had to read the quiet part out-loud. (Well, it wasn’t all that quiet.) Question is: how is all this going to work in practice (or in the praxis, as the Gramscian Marxists like to say — because it sounds like some occult power), as they roll over every institution in the land.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are our own jihadistas. They aim to make their program work by jamming it down America’s throat, starting with the throats of the plain old Democratic Party, the party of FDR, JFK, and HRC, currently fronted by Hakeem Jeffries (the House) and Chuck Schumer (the soon-to-be-abolished Senate). These two appear to be totally buffaloed by the DSA’s Insane Clown Posse. It’s their own Frankenstein monster, stitched together in their laboratory from the tatters of the 20th century. And like in the original by Mary Shelley, this monster is fixing to abolish its maker. Hakeem and Chuck are just standing by like a couple of credulous clucks waiting to see how things develop as the calendar marches implacably toward the catastrophic midterm election.

And it carries on from there, in most awesomely brilliant fashion.

Q: “Election Integrity: Is Representative Democracy A Foolish Fantasy?”

A: Yes. Yes, it is.

The US Constitution is perhaps the most significant historical and governmental document in a millennia. It established the modern conception of the western Republic, along with true representative government designed to answer to the people rather than rule over the people.

The Bill of Rights outlined clear restrictions on federal and state powers to legislate away the inherent and God given freedoms of the citizenry; an accomplishment which had been attempted in the past but was never truly realized until the war for independence and the creation of the United States. Until that moment, the idea that common men answer to authority and authority answers to no one was the accepted norm.

It’s a document and an ideal that gave birth to an epoch.

However, our constitutional republic was created based on conditions that, frankly, no longer exist. The American population was 95% Christian. The implementation of “patriarchy” was widespread and embraced as the most solid foundation for society. Meritocracy was absolute. Cultural identity was rooted in western civilization without any deviation or distraction.

Marxism did not exist. Atheism was rare. Degeneracy was shunned or punished. Shame was an effective social tool. Psychopathy was easy to identify and remove from within the smaller population. Women were expected to raise families and care for the home. Men were expected to feed and protect those families; perhaps even die for them.

Voting was for land owners and people with an actual stake in the success or failure of government policies. Women did not vote until a hundred years later in 1920 (many commentators have offered compelling arguments that the country quickly went downhill from there).

In 2026, many Americans still treat the notion of representative democracy as sacrosanct and untouchable, even though they don’t really know why. They just think it’s about freedom, but, they are basing their devout reverence on a system that used to work because it heavily restricted who was allowed to participate.

That’s the opening salvo from Brandon Smith’s latest, of which you’ll definitely want to read the all. Haven’t checked in on the B-Man in entirely too long, for which lapse I offer my humblest, most abject apologies.

Some things are transitory

Other things, however, will never change. The brutality, cruelty, and inherent, witless violence of Pisslam would definitely be in that category.

A Kiss in Indonesia and Its Aftermath Reveal the Heart and Soul of Islam
A kiss is still a kiss, as the old song goes, but in Indonesia’s Aceh province, it’s going to cost you. Not in terms of money, but in terms of the skin off your back. A young couple in Aceh just found that out after they shared a kiss on a TikTok stream, and found themselves hauled before a Sharia court and charged with violating the rules of modesty and the proper decorum that is to be maintained between an unmarried man and woman.

For that, they were each sentenced to 21 lashes, and the sentence was recently carried out before a gaping crowd of righteously indignant Sharia-adherent Muslims who know now never, ever to livestream a kiss. And so once again we see the true heart and soul of Islam: terror. While Muslim and non-Muslim Islamic apologists in the West continue to insist that the true Islam is benign and cuddly, and that terrorism is only a tiny minority of extremists’ “hijacking” of the religion, in reality, terror is at the very center of Islam. This latest caning in Aceh shows that anew.

The South China Morning Post reported Friday that “as each blow landed on their backs, the unnamed man, 22, and woman, 25, visibly grimaced. The woman later burst into tears, wailing in pain as the public punishment continued.” The Post noted that video of the canings had kicked up the usual firestorm: “It was far from the first such case to gain international attention and the response has become familiar: footage spreads online, rights groups condemn the punishment as inhumane and Aceh’s status as the Muslim-majority country’s sole sharia-enforcing province is thrust back into the spotlight.”

Yes indeed: “In a statement issued the same day as the flogging, Amnesty International said all forms of corporal punishment constituted torture or other ‘cruel, inhuman or degrading punishment,’ while its co-regional director, Montse Ferrer, called the caning of the couple ‘a horrifying act of discrimination.’”

In Aceh, however, they simply don’t care: “Nurjani, a 62-year-old housewife in Banda Aceh, said she supported caning because it ‘was about religion’ and in line with sharia law.” She explained: “If you do not do anything wrong, then there is nothing to fear. I support caning and I believe that if you lead your life in the right way and walk the right path, no one will question you.” Another Aceh resident, Muhammad Nasir, agreed, saying: “If someone is caned, it will be a lesson for them so that they do not do the same thing again. It has a physical element to it, but it is mostly social and designed to make the person ashamed of their crimes.”

Yes, and more than just ashamed: terrified. The caning is designed to make people afraid to violate Allah’s law again. People who have been caned in Indonesia have ended up collapsing and being hospitalized. If you don’t want to end up permanently injured, or at very least to suffer agonizing pain in front of a crowd that has gathered to watch you suffer, then don’t kiss a girl on TikTok.

This has nothing to do with virtue, the idea of choosing to do what is good because it is good. This is all about fear from the beginning to the end. The Qur’an tells Muslims to “strike terror in the enemies of Allah” (8:60), and lest any of Allah’s obedient slaves are tempted to violate his law and thus become his enemies as well, they get terrorized, too.

Every Westerner possessed of even a mere modicum of decency, compassion, and integrity is obligated to do everything he possibly can to aid in the destruction of Pisslam, one of the foulest, most fearful scourges ever to begrime our poor Earth.

The nightmarish blight that is Pisslam and all its evil works have been tolerated by the West for far, far too long now. We all know the score; without exception, every thinking person well knows deep in his heart what this vile pseudo-religion really is—what it intends, what it demands of its troglodytic followers, what wickedness and blood-drenched atrocities they gleefully commit, again and again, in its unholy name—yet in our disgraceful torpor, to our eternal shame we do nothing.

Pisslam must be obliterated, its loathsome adherents crushed until all that’s left is an unpleasant, rapidly-fading memory. Any lazy, gormless Westerner who keeps on puking forth one sad, sorry excuse after another for his political “leadership’s” flat refusal to take action to stanch the blood-dimmed tide of Mohammedanism—to foil the Musselman’s creeping, incremental conquest of all humanity—is guilty of de facto complicity in his own subjugation, and will reap the whirlwind he hath sown ere the end. I guar-on-gott-damn-TEE you he ain’t gonna enjoy it, either.

So there you have it, folks. We don’t have to like it, no…but we DO have to do it. There is no easy, fun, safe, pain-free option for us here. Success is by no means a sure thing, alas. Still; as the old saying goes: ROOT, HOG, OR DIE. Time’s nearly up; best get to it before what time we still do have expires completely.

Lather, rinse, repeat

Same old same old.

Alarming new satellite images show signs Iran may be trying to rebuild suspected nuclear facilities
Alarming new satellite images show signs that the Iranian regime appears to be rebuilding its suspected nuclear facilities at Pickaxe Mountain and Parchin.

Footage of both areas – which sustained extensive damage during US and Israeli-led bombing campaigns that began in late February – reveal “major signs” of activity, according to CNN, which obtained images from private firms.

Such construction likely runs afoul of the Memorandum of Understanding that Iran and US negotiators reached last month during a cease-fire that President Trump called “over” following Iranian attacks on shipping vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

US and Israeli forces repeatedly targeted the Parchin site, which the Iranians had covered with a protective concrete shield, in the joint air campaign that was launched on Feb. 28.

But a series of large blast holes, which were clearly visible on June 10, had been covered over 12 days later.

By July 7, the damage was covered with mesh material and concrete mixer trucks were visible at the ready nearby.

Hate to say I told ya so, but…

Update! Snippet from a comment:

If this is indeed true then it’s time for Midnight Hammer 2!! Iran will only listen to the sound of bombs dropping. Enough diplomacy and let’s get the job done.

Indeed. It’s like this, see:

Proud Boys honcho brings enheartening news from the Emerald Isle.

Preview: Proud Boys Leader Enrique Tarrio Exclusive Interviews from Northern Ireland with a Warning to the West- ‘Belfast: A New Menace Rising’
In exclusive footage and raw interviews from the streets of Belfast and Ballymena, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio captures a story the mainstream media won’t touch: native Irish communities — once divided

The mini-documentary, ‘Belfast: A New Menace Rising,’ lets the people on the ground tell the story.

At its heart are four powerful voices: Richard Inman, a veteran activist who has worked with Tommy Robinson, and a former UKIP/Advance UK figure, delivers a boots-on-the-ground account of escalating tensions.

Sarah White, a prominent female voice in patriotic circles, offers an on-the-streets perspective from recent protests.

Clifford Peeples, a battle-hardened loyalist pastor with deep Ulster roots, connects Troubles-era history to today’s shared defense of their homeland.

Dean, founder of the Concerned Parents group, represents the everyday working-class resident fighting for family safety and community stability.

The film examines the June 2026 stabbing incident in Belfast that sparked widespread unrest, contrasting it with the protection of a long-integrated Sudanese family to argue the issue centers on failed assimilation and integration — not race.

Old enemies (Catholic and Protestant) are shown setting aside historic grievances to confront what they see as a common threat to their culture, safety, and way of life.
by the Troubles — uniting against a new wave of violence tied to mass migration.

“What THEY SEE as” etc? Not hardly, laddie-buck; what UNQUESTIONABLY IS a common etc.

The threat is real, the menace ongoing, the enemy stronger than he’s ever been across a millennia and a half, quite literally. Time to wake the fuck up, man the fuck up, and take care of some long-neglected business, then, all across the West entire.

New Courtroom Video Allegedly Shows Charlie Kirk’s Killer Taking the Shot
On Friday, Turning Point USA (TPUSA) contributor Jack Posobiec, in an on-the-spot interview with Turning Point USA’s Taylor Hansen, gave some vivid details of another video shown in the preliminary hearing of Tyler Robinson, who is accused of the murder of TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk.

The new video reportedly shows the Kirk assassin actually moving into position and taking the shot.

Here’s how Mr. Posobiec described the video, which has not been released to the media.

I think everything’s been proven. I think it’s I think it’s I think it’s proven. It’s, I would say, beyond probable cause at this point. I think that the question for me is, how do you even get reasonable doubt when there’s so much evidence?

But the thing that I do just have to say is that I know that you guys watching on live stream couldn’t see the the last video that was shown. Well, it wasn’t edited. It was zoomed in. It was zoomed in from the surveillance video off campus, specifically, the part of the Losee Center, the roof. And… you see everything. You see everything. He climbs over. He assembles the gun, he runs over to the edge, you know, gets down in a prone position, and you see the time.

And we all know what time. And it just, it was like so slow, just watching those seconds. Click, click, click. And then you see him take the shot. And he takes the shot. and then immediately runs. And we’ve seen that video already, but I wasn’t… I knew we were gonna watch that, but I wasn’t, I wasn’t prepared to see this side of what happened because we’ve never seen it before. We saw the other end of the shot, obviously, but this was, this was a whole other level of just evil, and I got very upset watching it, and obviously, the family was very hard for them to watch, and I looked over, and I saw Tyler wasn’t even looking. He wasn’t even looking. See what he did.

And I would just say that I do wish… I wish the public could see that. I hope that video is made public, not because I want it to happen. I didn’t want any of this to happen. I hate all of this. I hate being here. But people need to see what happened. People need to see the other side of this because this is a case. We need to see the truth. We need to see the facts. And this is it’s, it’s the video of the sniper taking the shot. It is exactly what you think it would look like, but it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to watch, probably since the initial, when this happened, the first video.

Mr. Posobiec gave every indication of being somewhat shaken by the video, which is perfectly understandable.

Hell, it’s not entirely easy to just read Posobiec’s account, honestly—much less watch the danged vid, which I have no great desire to do. Over to you for more obnoxious dementia, Candace.

Burning questions

Whatever pitiful handful of old-school Ainglishters may still be left ain’t gonna like the answer much, I bet.

What would Churchill think of the land of Lucy Connolly and Henry Nowak?
THE emergence of vigilante patrols on the streets of Rochdale following the release from prison of a convicted grooming gang ringleader is, at first glance, a local story. Such episodes are easily dismissed as spontaneous expressions of public anger, the predictable consequence of a controversial criminal case. Yet to do so would be to overlook the more interesting question. Why are citizens beginning to assume responsibilities that belong exclusively to the state?

The significance of vigilantism in Rochdale and elsewhere in Britain lies not in the number of people involved but in the assumption that underlies it: that the authorities either cannot or will not perform one of their most elementary duties. Political legitimacy depends as much on what citizens believe governments are capable of doing as on what governments actually do.

Taken in isolation, the events of recent years in Britain prove very little. Western democracies periodically experience shocking crimes, controversial court decisions and failures of public administration. No single episode tells us much about the condition of a nation. The picture changes when exceptional events begin to accumulate with unsettling regularity.

The Southport murders, where three young girls were killed and many others injured, sent shockwaves throughout the entire country. Beyond the horror of the crime itself came intense scrutiny of the state’s capacity to prevent such atrocities. The public debate that followed was as much about confidence in government as it was about one criminal.

None of this means that Britain stands on the brink of civil war as some commentators suggest. Such a conclusion is unsupported by the available evidence. Hyperbole makes for clickbait, after all. But what if vigilante patrols are not an isolated incident, but the first visible symptom of a broader crisis of confidence in the British state’s capacity to perform its essential functions?

One cannot help wondering how Winston Churchill, the historian rather than the statesman, would read Britain’s present predicament. In A History of the English-Speaking Peoples, he chronicled Britain as a nation shaped by successive waves of transformation. The native Britons gave way to the Romans. The Romans departed. Angles, Saxons, Danes, Vikings and Normans each left their mark upon the island. Civil wars, religious upheavals, industrialisation, imperial expansion followed in turn. Britain’s story did not end there. The post-war decades brought new waves of immigration from the Caribbean, the Indian subcontinent and Africa, adding yet another layer to a nation that had always been shaped by change. To Churchill, these were not interruptions in Britain’s story. They were Britain herself.

Would he regard today’s anxieties as merely another chapter in that long and often turbulent history? Or would he conclude that something more fundamental is taking place – not simply another transformation, but a gradual erosion of the confidence that has long enabled Britain’s institutions to absorb change without losing their authority?

Time alone will answer that question.

Yeppers; like it or not, it most certainly will. Actually, it’s my own belief that it already has, and that it is now much too late for No-Longer-Great Britainistan to have any real hope of reversing course and saving itself.

To date, no civilization, however mighty, wealthy, successful, and/or rigorously defended has endured forever—not the Greeks, not the Romans, not the Ottomans nor the Mongols nor the Picts nor the Saxons etc etc etc. Our English cousins had a darned good run for sure, several centuries at or near the top o’ the global heap. Alas, that run is now well and truly over, and the British future now looks for the most part swarthy, anarchic, Moslem, and frankly, bleak.

Will no one rid me of this turbulent Commie whore?

The Enemy within.

When Will Obama Say, ‘What’s Happened to My Party?’
In 2013, Obama said, “… nobody questions the efficacy of market economies in terms of producing wealth and innovation and keeping us competitive.”

Today, some of the Democratic Party’s rising stars, with the biggest voices, do exactly that.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani vows to “replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.” One of his endorsed candidates for the U.S. House, Darializa Avila Chevalier, expressed views that would have been unrecognizable in the Democratic Party of President Obama.

Avila Chevalier once retweeted: “I just cannot get over the fact that the universe has foisted upon us the perfect illustration of literally every failing of capitalism and people are still like we can’t be communists cuz there won’t be enough types of soup.” CNN examined her now-deleted X account and reported it contained “repeated sympathetic references to communism, Marxist ideology and Soviet figures, including Vladimir Lenin.” Another post encouraged workers to “seize the means of production.” Another advocated worker control of wealth. She wrote: “You can call that communism, you can call it socialism, you can call it pancakes.” She described Karl Marx’s “Das Kapital” as an “essential must-read.”

Her posts went well beyond economics. In April 2020, she called Joe Biden a “rapist.” After then-Vice President Kamala Harris urged migrants not to cross the southern border illegally, Avila Chevalier responded: “I have no nuance to add. (Expletive) Kamala Harris.”

Avila Chevalier called for abolishing police and prisons, posted about wiping her hands on the American flag, and denounced interracial relationships by accusing Black and Arab men of “fetishizing ugly colonizer women,” one of several posts in which she attacked white women.

Claire Valdez, another Mamdani-endorsed Democratic nominee for the U.S. House, has vowed to “take away buildings” from alleged slumlords and supports nationwide rent control.

Where is Barack Obama?

Same place he’s always been: lurking backstage, disguised behind the mask of reasonable, moderate, common-sense Leftism. It’s a mark of how abysmally far we’ve come, in precisely the wrong direction, that his ideological heirs now disdain to even bother with the familiar old D卐M☭CRAT duplicity, disguises, and deceits.

Kill her. Kill them ALL.

Mexican Batman Duct-Tapes Alleged Motorcycle Thieves to Lamp Posts
A vigilante nicknamed ‘Batman of Lagos de Moreno’ has become known in the Mexican state of Jalisco for tying alleged motorcycle thieves to lamp posts

Tired of waiting for local police to do their duty and bring criminals to justice, a mysterious vigilante in the town of Lagos de Moreno, Mexico’s Jalisco state, has been duct-taping alleged motorcycle thieves to lamp posts and leaving them for authorities to find. At least five ‘victims’ have been found so far.

The mysterious ‘Batman’ started operating in Lagos de Moreno in mid-June. The first person was found duct-taped to a lamp post, with ‘thief’ written on his forehead, on June 13th. An allegedly stolen motorcycle was also found nearby, suggesting that the immobilized person was a thief. But this was only the beginning, as police have since discovered at least 4 other alleged thieves tied to lamp posts.

Yes, there are pictures, and they’re hilarious. Unfortunately, the “proper authorities” appear to have learned nothing whatsoever from all this (bold mine).

Although most people seem convinced this crusade against alleged motorcycle thieves is the work of a single vigilante, local authorities told news reporters that this might be the work of a gang of vigilantes. Interestingly, so far, the victims have not provided any clarification in that regard.

Jalisco’s Secretary of Public Security, Juan Pablo Hernández, reported that investigations are underway to clarify the attacks and locate those involved. He also emphasized that the five men found bound so far are currently being treated as victims, adding that no one should take the law into their own hands, regardless of their motives.

Yeah well, sorry to have to hip ya to it and all, pal, but people are only gonna take so much official crim-coddling, excuse-making, and hands-off, lackadaisical “policing” before they r’are up on their hind legs and start taking care of business for themselves. Expecting otherwise from them is a mug’s game, at best.

Remember, duct-taping the thieving skin-bags to a lamp post is the MODERATE response.

Did some starry-eyed fool say “free”?

A lamented loss.

Why we post about Britain. Because the British can’t.

That, and because Britain is whence we sprang as a nation, and we still love Britain. And having expended considerable blood and treasure in Britain’s defense, we are not without standing.

We hate to see Britain descending into its Labour nightmare. Mass migration. Two tier justice. Racist police who turn a blind eye to rape, let a young man die because the foreigner who stabbed him cried racism. Police who will show up promptly to arrest you if you post something that might “cause anxiety” or “offend” but more particularly challenge authority.

We do that for Canada, too. And Australia.

Why has such a swath of the Anglosphere become so wretchedly authoritarian? The Anglosphere having spread civilization and notions of liberal governance, free enterprise, individual freedom around the world.

By far the biggest part of the Anglosphere, the United States, thankfully remains free.

Yeah. Thankfully.

A-HENH! In a comments-section response to the above post on conquered Britainistan, NB adds:

*looks at watch* Yeeaaahhh, that “self-correction” oughta be kicking in ANY TIME NOW *checks watch again*

Actually, I don’t entirely disagree with NB’s assertion that Amerika v2.0 is about as good as it gets with respect to what we’re pleased to refer to as freedom. He’s right; I’ve been to several other countries myself and, with the possible exception of the Netherlands (now completely overrun by Mooselimb immivaders, sadly enough), this really IS about as good as it gets out there in the wider world.

However, seems to me that’s damning with faint praise, just another feeble cope—which is absolutely NOT something any liberty-minded Real American ought to be willing to settle for. Once-Great Britain, Ireland, and Scotland aren’t the only nations badly in need of a revolution, seems to me.

Jefferson tree of liberty.

More:

Scandalously, Thomas Jefferson once wrote to James Madison, “I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and is as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.”

In the same year, 1787, in regard to what is known as Shays’ Rebellion, he wrote another friend, “God forbid that we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion.” A lack of rebelliousness among the people would demonstrate “a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. . . And what country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance?”

Truer words were never etc.

All of which goes to show that, as Jefferson clearly understood, there are two (2) standards for assessing the freedom of any nation-state, one correct and proper, one gone grievous astray:

  • The Absolute Standard, ie, Jefferson’s Way: either there is liberty, or there is not, as I’ve so often put it here
  • The Relativist Standard: one given country can fairly be said to be freer than some other one—as i said, a feeble cope by which we reassure ourselves that we haven’t entirely betrayed the ideals of our Founding Fathers quite yet

Update! We may have fallen down on the whole “freedom” thing, but at least the food is good.

“Who was the most boring rock star?”

Via my daily Quora Digest email: question asked, question answered. Well, kinda sorta.

Who was the most boring rock star?
I was the music director of a popular college rock station in the early 1980s, and as such, had the opportunity to interview or sit in on interviews with a lot of touring acts, whose A&R people would dutifully bring them by to help boost interest and airplay.

I can tell you there were a few good ones. David Johansen was boisterous and hilarious. Greg Kihn was cool and folksy. Steve Perry and Neil Schon of Journey probably would’ve been a great interview, but we were all punky and new wavy and our edgy drive time guy insulted them so they stormed off the set. Definitely not boring. And Nick Lowe was charming, clever, and full of stories, including a few about his longtime pal and running mate, Dave Edmunds.

You know who was boring as…well, really boring? Dave Edmunds! I don’t know if he was strung out from the road the day we got him, or bummed out to be stuck with a bunch of snooty kids, or whatever, but man, you could not crowbar a word from him. He just slouched in the chair, issuing monosyllabic grunts and such, until the interview mercifully ended.

The guy could really put on a show, and he was an amazing guitarist, and who even knows what he was like in real life back in the day, but in my sole encounter, for whatever reason, he was the most boring rock star. Hopefully someone has a story to counter this impression, so I can put the blame on me.

Been there done that myself, I’m afraid. One of the most embarrassing occasions of my whole life had to be the time we went to a local college radio station the morning after a gig in NOLA for an interview session. It being N’Awlins and all, naturally we weren’t merely hung over when we got there, we were still drunk as boiled owls. So every question received a mumbled, semi-coherent one or two word response. The poor DJ was totally at sea trying to make us sound lively and interesting, poor bastid.

Is the LGBTQ+++ Insurrection finally over?

We should only be that lucky.

We knew corporations would abandon Pride. It still hurts. | Opinion

Follows, much anguished, overwrought wringing of hands, natch. To wit:

At the start of June, I stopped by Target while running errands in the SoHo neighborhood of New York. The store had just set out its summer merchandise, displaying an array of clothes, accessories and sunscreens nestled within a series of red arches.

As I hurried past tank tops and patterned shorts toward the pet section, I stopped to look at the Pride collection.

There wasn’t much – a single display of generic rainbow-colored shirts and home goods rested toward the back of the store, with no signs declaring June to be LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

I realized at that moment that in spite of the fact that I live in New York City, and in spite of the fact that I am part of the LGBTQ+ community, I hadn’t seen many corporate advertisements related to this year’s celebration. I think I know why.

It seems that the era of rainbow capitalism that has endured since Obergefell v. Hodges made same-sex marriage the law of the land in 2015 is no longer a guaranteed moneymaker for brands, leading them to downsize their efforts or abandon them altogether.

Awww, poor widdle wambikins: a miniscule, stastically-insignificant fraction of the population is upset because they don’t have racks upon racks upon racks of merchandise celebrating their weirdo sexual kinks within easy reach. Hard not to be shocked by that, it’s SO damned unfair. Gee, wonder who this bubbleheaded bull-dagger bimbelina thinks is to blame for all this trouble and woe? Three guesses, first two don’t etc.

It’s the continuation of a troubling trend that began in 2024, with the reelection of President Donald Trump.

Yeppers, thought so. Ace posits a much more likely explanation of what’s behind the LGBTQ+++ Mafia’s sudden fall from (scape)grace.

You kept making more and more extravagant demands, testing people’s inclination to be “nice” to avoid confrontation, until those demands became so oppressive they stopped being “nice.”

This is entirely on you. Or, it’s entirely on the gay grifter activist class, who can only justify their phony-baloney jobs by making greater and greater claims on the public’s sympathies and attention so they can show they’re “getting results” for their $300,000 per year jobs.

Until the public gets sick of the endless extortion campaign and starts saying “No.”

We thought we could appease you but you demonstrated again and again that you were unappeasable and each fresh concession we granted you just encouraged further aggression. You know, like a communist dictator or Islamic conqueror.

The Gay Lobby assured us, over and over, that “gay marriage will have no effect on your life at all.” When objectors said “gay marriage will lead to demands for ‘trans acceptance’ next, you called those people liars and said that will never, ever happen.

Well, you fucking lied. You lied and lied and lied until you got what you wanted, then you began making the exact kind of demands that people said you’d make when you got what you said you wanted.

And you’re surprised people are fed up with your bullshit?

But…but…but…but…teh homophobic BIGOTRY, you guys!!!

Ruh-roh

Leave it to the fine folks at the Bee to get right to the meat of the matter.

Heh. Who indeed.

Update! Via Stephen, another excellent Xweet that I felt really needed to be on the main page here too.

The ones that really slay me are the ones who, like lying douchenozzle, shithouse pud-puller, and serial female-abuser Adolf Platner, think it’s FederalGovCo’s job to see to it that it never, ever happens again. Just who the actual fuck do you goobermint wastrels think you are, anyhow?

UK: 17-Year-Old Girl Stabbed in Neck, But Don’t Worry, the Cops Have Reassuring Words
As is so often the case these days, the details of this particular news item are positively harrowing. The UK’s Lancashire Telegraph reported Friday that “a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after armed police attended an incident where a teenage girl was reportedly ‘stabbed in the neck.’”

This girl was stabbed in the neck. Meanwhile, just a few days ago in Belfast, a Muslim migrant was caught in the act of trying to saw off the head of someone who had offended him. And in Italy, a man named Issam Chlih beheaded a woman while reciting Qur’an verses.

Is there more still? Oh, you just bet your life there is.

Nor is that even close to all. The magnificent Kevin Downey Jr. gave me a shout-out here for reporting a few other beheading stories, and there is never any shortage. In February in north London, a 13-year-old boy stabbed two other boys, ages 12 and 13, one of them in the neck. As the attacker did his stabbing, he screamed “Allahu akbar”; after he did his work, he fled into a local mosque. In Italy in January, a man of “North African origin” stabbed a priest in the neck as the clergyman walked through Modena’s city center.

In Nov. 2025 in the English city of Birmingham, a woman was seriously injured after being stabbed in the neck in what police called “an unprovoked attack.” In Oct. 2025 in Cathays, a suburb of Cardiff, Wales, a man named Abdul Ali was sentenced to ten years in prison after stabbing a man in the neck and stomach. In France in Sept. 2025, a wheelchair-bound Iraqi Christian was stabbed in the neck and killed while broadcasting live on social media.

In the present case, says the Lancashire Telegraph, “officers confirmed that a 17-year-old girl had been taken to hospital, while a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.” A spokesperson for the Lancashire Police stated: “We were called at 3.06pm today to Wood Street, Brierfield, to a report of a stabbing. It was reported that a 17-year-old girl had been assaulted and suffered a stab injury to her neck. Officers, some of them armed, attended and a 30-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of attempted murder. The girl was taken to hospital for treatment to a stab wound in the back of her neck.”

With truly English understatement, the spokesperson added: “We know that this will cause alarm in the local community” — no kidding, really? — “and extra patrols will be in the area this evening to provide reassurance.”

And you can be “reassured” that those “extra patrols” will stand ready to bludgeon any traditional heritage English person caught in a Muzzrat-only exclusionary zone without a proper permit to within an inch of his/her worthless life, by cracky.

“Ceasefire” continues to “hold”

Mlitary analysts confess utter bafflement as to how this could possibly have happened, given that all of Iran’s military capability had already been destroyed weeks ago.

President Donald Trump posted on TruthSocial Tuesday, “I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache Helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. There were two pilots involved, both are safe and uninjured. Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Hey, better get in touch with Pock-e-stawn and arrange more negotiations with the Mad Mullahs, no? After all, they’re just aching to make a “deal” that will resolve our 47-year-old Iran problem once and for all. Stay the course, Mr Preaident, and damn the torpedos!

It is good news that our men survived, but it should be obvious by now that it is incredibly dangerous to continue pretending there is a ceasefire when there is not. It puts our service members at risk. This time the Iranian regime did not succeed in killing the pilots, but what about next time?

The murderous mullahs continue to execute their own Persian people who protested the regime. The Tehran terrorists are also bombarding civilians across multiple Middle Eastern countries and encouraging their terrorist proxies to join in the bloody activities.

Gee, how very UNEXPECTED!© of them.

The main point, the essential point, the ONLY point (bold mine).

It is highly ironic that over the weekend, Trump was trying to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into not striking back against the Iranian regime and its terror proxy Hezbollah for a series of devastating bombardments targeting civilian areas. Multiple Israelis died in Hezbollah strikes last week. Iran’s other proxies, the Houthis, also joined in firing upon Israel. You can see Netanyahu’s statement below. Now, all of a sudden, Trump is discovering what Netanyahu and many of us already understood: The Iranian regime is not the least bit interested in negotiating in good faith, but it is just as determined to continue fighting and killing Americans as it is to fight and kill Israelis.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Ghalibaf (or Qalibaf), who in April was among the Iranian negotiators speaking with American leaders, bragged soon after an abortive meeting with U.S. Vice President JD Vance, “I, as a soldier, am fighting in the realm of negotiations.” For fundamentalist Muslims, lying to the enemy is not only permissible, but praiseworthy (see taqiyya). This is why terrorists in Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, and elsewhere have violated every deal they ever made with Israel or Western nations.

Having played along so far with Trump’s preposterous “Let’s make a deal!” delusions, I begin to wonder whether Bibi knows it or not, honestly.
