Government internet: now a Thing!

Oh goodie gumdrops, looks like we just found ourselves a brand new Constitutional right!

The Obamanet, like its predecessor Obamacare, will be more efficient, lots cheaper (FREE!!!), more reliable, much faster, and WAY more entertaining, educational, and just plain FUN!!! Sundance assures us ALL IS WELL.

There is nothing nefarious about the U.S. surveillance state wanting to make surveillance more efficient. Nothing nefarious at all.

Do not be discouraged by those extremist voices outlining the benefits to government that are provided by a wider, more inclusive, national broadband internet system; that connects to a more efficient 5G internet system; that permits you to experience a new world of telecommunications benefits tailored to your individual needs.

The new network of all things interconnected will make life far more convenient, perhaps allowing you to eliminate the worry of finding gasoline in rural areas when it becomes scarce. Our new national networks will help ease your mind as the internet proximity services work seamlessly with your portable transponder unit (cell phone) to facilitate your needs.

The convenience of finding stuff you need; intersecting with voting and data-connections with your social media network; helping the government track you; all of it. The opportunities are endless my friends. Smiles, everyone, smiles.

You’d think they would be saying thank you. Man, I just can’t wait to get my hands on my new 56k/600 baud modem from dear old Uncle Sam! It’s FREE, you know!

Business as usual, only more so

America just put itself through a two year-plus hazing ritual.

More than a century ago, Mark Twain identified two fundamental problems that would prove relevant to the Covid pandemic. “How easy it is to make people believe a lie,” he wrote, “and how hard it is to undo that work again!” No convincing evidence existed at the start of the pandemic that lockdowns, school closures, and mask mandates would protect people against the virus, but it was remarkably easy to make the public believe that these policies were “the science.” Today, thanks to two years of actual scientific evidence, it’s clearer than ever that these were terrible mistakes; yet most people still believe that the measures were worthwhile—and many are eager to maintain some mandates even longer.

The mental mistakes were not made by citizens who dutifully sacrificed for two years. They assumed that the Centers for Disease Control knew how to control disease and that scientists and public-health officials would provide sound scientific guidance about public health. Those were reasonable assumptions. They just turned out to be wrong.

After a great disaster, the traditional response is to appoint a blue-ribbon panel to investigate it, and a bill has already been introduced in Congress to create a Covid commission. In theory, this could be a worthy public service, allowing experts to sift the evidence impartially and determine which strategies worked, which ones failed, how much needless damage was done—and whom to blame for it. But in practice, which experts would the current Democratic administration or Congress appoint? Presumably, the pillars of the public-health establishment—the same luminaries whose advice was followed so calamitously the past two years.

Before Covid, the United States drew up plans for a pandemic and maintained the world’s most lavishly funded scientific and medical institutions to deal with one. When the coronavirus arrived, the leaders of those institutions should have identified who was at serious risk and who wasn’t and adopted proven strategies to protect the vulnerable while doing the least harm to everyone else. They should have monitored the effects of their policies and adjusted them based on what they learned. By honestly communicating the risks and considering the overall public good, they could have tamped down needless fear and united the country behind their efforts.

Instead, they proceeded to ignore their own plans as well as the basic principles of science and public health. Leaders of the CDC terrified the public with worst-case scenarios based on computer models—and then used those blatantly unrealistic projections to claim unprecedented powers and experiment with untested strategies. Their pre-Covid planning scenarios had rejected business and school closures even for a pandemic as deadly as the Spanish flu of 1918, but when the Covid-19 pandemic came, they imposed lockdowns without even pretending to weigh the hypothetical benefits against the tangible economic, medical, and social costs—not to mention the intangible costs in emotional hardship and lost liberty. Randomized clinical trials conducted before the pandemic had repeatedly shown that masks did little or no good at preventing viral spread, but the CDC proclaimed them effective against Covid and promoted mask mandates nationwide. As the pandemic wore on, federal health officials looked for excuses to justify the lockdowns and mandates, hyping flawed studies and cherry-picked data, while failing to sponsor rigorous research testing their strategies.

They stubbornly ignored the hundreds of studies around the world showing that, except in a few isolated places, lockdowns did not reduce Covid mortality and that mask mandates were generally ineffective and senselessly cruel in classrooms. The most glaring evidence came from places with the least restrictive policies, like Florida, along with the Nordic countries Sweden, Finland, and Norway, which avoided lockdowns and mask mandates—yet did as well as, or better than, the average in preventing both Covid deaths and overall mortality during the course of the pandemic.

Instead of heeding all this evidence of their mistakes, federal officials did their best to suppress it and silence dissenters.

And that right there, all by itself, tells you everything you’ll ever need to know about not only the Fauxvid disaster specifically, but about tyranny more broadly. US government leaders, as well as those of most of the States, were intent on one thing only: POWER. The tinhorn megalomaniacs saw their opportunity and seized it, using what they saw as a chance of a lifetime to their greatest advantage.

HONEST men—true scientists, healers, and statesmen, would have looked carefully at the ever-mounting evidence that upheld their previous studies and long-standing official views on the failings of masks, lockdowns, “social distancing,” school closures, and other such balderdash right away. They would have put the good of the people over their own petty ambitions, focused their energy and attention on doing their fucking jobs instead of stroking their own egos and feathering their own nests (Fauci was the ne plus ultra example of this preening and strutting, but he was hardly the only one), and went back to the original, long-established plan.

Instead, these FederalGovCo bureau-rats lied, swept the truth under the rug as best they could, and enlisted their partners in academia and Establishment Media in their campaign to destroy the lives and careers of the many actual scientists and health care professionals who were doing the research, crunching the numbers, and working tirelessly to get the truth out there.

Francis Collins, the head of the National Institutes of Health, wrote to Anthony Fauci in October 2020 urging “a quick and devastating published takedown” of the “three fringe epidemiologists” responsible for the Great Barrington Declaration. These three researchers—from the “fringe” institutions of Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford—criticized the deadly harms of the lockdowns and urged an alternative strategy of focusing protection on the high-risk elderly, allowing natural immunity to grow among the younger population at low risk. Fauci and Collins went on a media offensive, dismissing the focused-protection strategy as “very dangerous” and “not mainstream science.” Other scientists quickly joined the attack on the Great Barrington Declaration by signing a rebuttal, the John Snow Memorandum, which asserted that lockdowns were effective and dismissed the idea of natural immunity, claiming that “there is no evidence for lasting protective immunity to SARS-CoV-2 following natural infection.”

It was a remarkably irresponsible claim, given already-existing evidence at the time (the fall of 2020) that people’s immune systems developed defenses after a Covid infection. It would have been surprising if an infection didn’t produce durable protection. Yet this denial of natural immunity appeared in The Lancet and was signed by thousands of scientists and doctors, including Rochelle Walensky, who enshrined this unscientific notion as CDC policy when she became the agency’s leader during the Biden administration. It didn’t matter that natural immunity was repeatedly shown to be stronger and longer-lasting than vaccine immunity, or that other countries exempted people with natural immunity from vaccine mandates. The Biden administration insisted on vaccinating everyone—and firing workers who refused, including hospital staff and other essential workers whose prior Covid infections gave them stronger immunity than their vaccinated colleagues. Instead of uniting Americans against the virus, public-health officials chose painful policies that divided the faithful from the disobedient.

The public needs to learn what went wrong during the pandemic, but they’re not going to hear it from the Biden administration. It rewarded Fauci for his failures by giving him a new title, Chief Medical Advisor to the President, and would surely resist any serious investigation of its Covid strategies. Republicans could start the process if they win control of Congress in November and establish a Covid commission, but they’d be taking on the federal bureaucracy as well as the public-health establishment.

Waste of time. Or did we so quickly forget all those endless Repugnican promises to “end Obamacare,” which rapidly softened into a pledge to “repeal and replace” it with some other government health-care scheme, before they all just closed the door in our faces, sat down to talk the whole thing over, and quietly agreed among themselves to just pretend none of it had ever happened.

The public—we fully-paid-up members of the Disobedient Class who have long understood the true nature of government and its personnel, at any rate—already KNOWS what “went wrong” during the pandemic, or close enough. The lies, reversals, and shifty maneuvering of Fauci and his fellow scuttling homunculi gave the game away; the more perceptive of us had begun to smell a rat from the earliest stages of this shitshow. As I’ve told a few women I’d caught cheating: You just looked me in the face and told me a lie. Everything else is just details, which aren’t really worth bothering about anymore. I know everything that matters.

We know a few other important things about the Fauxvid grift, too. For instance, we know what the odds are that parasitical malefactors like Fauci, Collins, Walinski, and enough of their co-conspirators to populate an entire Supermax wing will ever be brought to justice for the irrepairable damage they caused. We know that the great mass of putative “Americans” are in fact AINOs, Americans In Name Only: cowards, sheep, ratfinks, and knob-polishers who must never be trusted or relied on in any effort more important than a neighborhood grill-out. We know, or we ought to, that Heritage Americans no longer have any representation in the seat of national government—that the so-called “two-party system” we’ve been sold our whole lives as the ideal arrangement for the governance of a free and independent citizenry, explicitly urged on us by the Founders (although, strangely enough, I can’t recall ever seeing any mention of this “two-party system” in the Constitution) is in reality a sour, piss-poor joke; what we actually have is a Uniparty whose two faces have far more in common with each other than they ever will with the average Heartland Joe. Scott Atlas, for one, has seen enough of it to know what’s up.

Atlas, the health-policy analyst from the Hoover Institution who joined the Trump administration’s Covid task force and fought unsuccessfully against Fauci’s pandemic policies, says that his experience in Washington has convinced him that any government-run commission would be a mistake.

“It’s massively naïve to think that our government will do anything objective,” Atlas says. “Any U.S. government panel would be viewed as, or be in reality, 100 percent partisan. It could be smarter to have an international organization do it, looking at the overall questions of management, because if it’s only an assessment of the U.S., then it naturally becomes a political blame game.” But which international organization could be trusted to do a fair investigation? The obvious candidates, like the World Health Organization or the World Bank, would presumably rely on establishment figures loath to admit their mistakes. And even if they honestly evaluated the pandemic strategies, how much impact would the report have? The mainstream press would probably either ignore it, as it ignored a recent meta-analysis concluding that lockdowns had “little to no effect” on Covid mortality, or attack it with the same tactics used to smear the Great Barrington Declaration as “not mainstream.”

Actually, it wouldn’t so much be a mistake as it would just a complete waste of time. The mistake would be to place an ounce of faith in this or any other “commission,” “panel,” or “investigation” charged with “getting to the bottom” of some government misdeed or other. The real purpose of such commissions is to throw the rubes a bone, distract the slack-jawed yokels for a short while until the whole thing starts to bog down, gets supplanted in the news cycle by fresher material, and just sort of quietly peters out, with maybe some obscure lawyer or staffer nobody knows or cares about getting sentenced to twelve minutes’ unsupervised probation and 18 holes of golf with his legal team upon his “release” to make it look good.

As for “international organizations,” I’d posit that, if this nation has reached the point where we think it necessary to submit ourselves to investigation and juridication such as that, then our government is well beyond salvage, and we must look elsewhere for solutions.

The fundamental character of Amerika v2.0’s federal goobermint, at every level and in all contexts, is this: it is a charade. Nothing about it is real; there is no truth in it, no solidity, nothing you can take hold of and think, Gotcha! The speechifying, the press conferences, the committees and glandhanding and logrolling and paperwork—all of it as flimsy as gossamer, undulating and wispy like smoke on a gentle breeze. It may seem real enough when you look at the thing just right, but blink your eyes and POOF! It’s gone.

Well, except for the FBI. Now, THOSE people you definitely need to stay way the heck away from. They’re as real as a pitbull with your calf clamped between its jaws, only a lot less amenable to reason. Tierney closes this way:

After the pandemic, Americans should never let public-health authorities deprive them of their liberties.

Sorry, but they’re lost now. Before we can see to not repeating the error, we’ll first have to take ’em back again. And I do mean take, too; you can be damned sure that The Power isn’t going to just hand ’em back over simply because we asked them nicely to.

2000 Cheating Husbands know the score

Wayne Root presents an intriguing thought-experiment.

How powerful is “2,000 Mules”? Why do you think the Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade was leaked right at this exact moment? This is the first Supreme Court decision that has ever been leaked — and it just happened to occur on the eve of the release of “2,000 Mules”?

Look who this historic criminal act targets: female voters. It’s no coincidence.

But I have a message for female voters, wives and mothers. Ladies, have you ever had a boyfriend or husband cheat on you? Did you need actual proof of your husband cheating to know the truth? Or would this be enough to know for sure?

Your husband comes home at 3 a.m., reeking of booze, lipstick on his collar, the smell of a woman’s perfume on his body, and when you ask him where he’s been, he replies, “Shut up. I did nothing wrong. You’re crazy. You’re a conspiracy theorist. No, you can’t look at my text messages. No, you can’t look at the GPS of my phone. How dare you ask? If you ever talk about this again, I’ll kick you out of this home. Good luck being homeless on the streets.”

What would any woman believe at that point? Do you need any further proof? Or is your husband’s reaction all the proof you need? Are you crazy or a conspiracy theorist for seeing the truth with your own eyes?

That’s the 2020 election to a T. We all know what happened. We don’t need what Democrats and the establishment media call “proof.” The Democrats’ angry response is the proof. The media’s cover-up is the proof.

They call us crazy. They call us conspiracy theorists. They refuse any investigation. They fight against forensic audits with armies of lawyers. They ban any discussion. They refuse any debate. Is this normal?

Well, you can bet your very last farthing that it will be from now on.

But the only proof any smart wife or mother needs is the response. Just like a cheating husband, the Democrats’ response is so rancid, so ridiculous, so over-the-top with fake outrage, we all know the truth. The proof is in the response. We know.

If you made a bet on the election (as I did), you know. Donald Trump was running away with a landslide electoral victory at midnight on election night when suddenly five key states announced at the same time, for the first time in history, that they were stopping the vote count until morning. Nothing strange there. Nothing suspicious there.

Trump had insurmountable leads in all five states. Yet when we woke up, the leads were gone. Hundreds of thousands of new votes — almost 100 percent for Biden — were found overnight. And they were found with no GOP witnesses in the counting rooms. No problem there, right?

But you don’t need “2,000 Mules” to know for sure. “2,000 Cheating Husbands” tells the real story.

Simply tell every Democrat you know that you believe the 2020 election was stolen. Then watch their reaction. They’ll act exactly like your cheating husband, at 3 a.m., with lipstick on his collar.

Not me, bub. I wouldn’t tell a Demonrat where the men’s room was—not even if his eyes were rolled back in his head, his teeth were chattering, and he had a dark, wet stain spreading across the front of his trousers, I wouldn’t. Wayne closes, correctly, with the eternal question we’re all waiting with bated breath to have answered. Whichever way it shakes out, you can be certain that Team Tyrrany will be running the exact same play against us again.

The Ministry of Truth

When lies are truth, truth is a lie, and “reality” is whatever our Masters deign to tell us it is

That double-barreled blast of slug-not-shot truth Tulsi just fired off comes to us courtesy of the esteemed Mike Walsh, who ain’t hardly done yet.

So now the mask has dropped and, for the first time, the American people can see the modern Left in all its hateful, unadorned, vituperative, spiteful glory.

Oh, I dunno about all that now, Mike; there’s been no mistaking who and what they really are for quite a while, for anybody willing to remove his/her hands from over his/her eyes and take a look.

Case in point: the announcement last week that the Department of Homeland Security—one of the excrescences of the Bush administration, cobbled together in its panic over 9/11—has created the “Disinformation Governance Board” in order to combat what it has, via its hitherto little-known Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, already dubbed “mis-, dis-, and mal-information.” Otherwise known as alternative points of view, but shut up, citizen.

The part I bolded above is emphasized to remind y’all of another of Mike’s Iron Laws: Elect all the Reublicans you like, then sit back and watch as nothing changes.

From its Orwellian name to the repellant leftist virago of obscure origins named Nina Jankowicz who heads it (her Wikipedia entry lacks a precise date of birth, as well as her place of birth and any of the customary details about her family, ethnic and religious background; about all we know is that she’s apparently married to a man named Michael Stein), this moral and political enormity cannot be allowed to stand.

Well, naturally. But then, that’s true of so very many things nowadays.

It is no coincidence that this Frankenstein monster and its screeching harpy boss have sprung to life just days after Elon Musk made his successful bid for Twitter, with a promise to end its blatant censorship of conservative points of view [including mine; I’ve been banned for “targeted harassment” since the summer of 2020, apparently for illustrating the shortcomings of such journalistic apparatchiks as Chuck Todd, Yamiche Alcindor, and Nick Confessore, as well as the “presidential historian” Michael Beschloss], throttling free discourse, seizing private information and holding it hostage, and blaming their NKVD tactics on an “algorithm” developed by their “trust and safety” star chamber.

It also, purely coincidentally, comes directly in the wake of “former” president Barack Hussein Obama’s speech at Stanford University endorsing more public censorship. Be sure to click on the video and listen to Barry, who unlike every other former president and in defiance of presidential custom, still lives in the District of Columbia, just a short drive from the White House.

See? FEAR NOT, Comrades! Your Dearest Leader, His Most Majestic Highness Brrraaap Soetoro Obongo the Practically White, remains in overall command of our benificent government, working as he always has for the benefit of all right-thinking Comrades!! ALL IS WELL!!!

Elsewhere, VDH isn’t feeling terribly sanguine about this wonderful new expansion/power-grab of FederalGovCo’s.

The board’s executive director, Nina Jankowicz, at least has clear qualifications for the post. She previously had spread false rumors on social media that Donald Trump voters would show up at the polls in 2020 armed, and joined the mob’s chorus that Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation.” Perhaps the idea behind her hiring was “it takes one to know one.”

Although the new board’s mandate is unclear, the idea seems to be that Jankowicz and her colleagues will use the federal government’s powers to adjudicate what Americans say as either true or false—and to suppress as “disinformation” anything it doesn’t find useful.

The new war against “disinformation” follows the narratives of the “insurrection” on January 6, the “democracy dies in darkness” return of Donald Trump, and Vladimir Putin as a mastermind gasoline price-spiker. Such narratives are intended to distract us from the Biden disaster and the ongoing assault against constitutional freedom.

When things turn south for the administration, Barack Obama—a sagging Netflix’s $50-million “idea man”—usually emerges from one of his three mansions in Hawaii, Martha’s Vineyard, or Kalorama to lecture clingers and deplorables on various threats they pose to the anointed.

His sermons usually project his own transgressions. Recently, Obama went to Stanford University, in the heart of Silicon Valley, to admonish us that new free speech platforms might tolerate incorrect expression that he and the Left smear as “hate speech.”

But is not Barack Obama ill-suited to lecture anyone on disinformation?

You must be joking, man. Oboomboom is the most prolific, most shameless liar ever to lift his head above the surface of the fetid waters of the DC Swamp to flick his forked tongue lazily to and fro, coldly assessing his surroundings in that blank-eyed reptilian way of his. Ill-suited? I can’t begin to imagine who might be a better fit. There’s nobody on Earth with more experience tilling the fields of disinformatsiya; no man more adept at keeping himself wrapped in a cloak of falsehood to deflect all honesty, integrity, and probity; no man better at wielding lies as if they were the very sword and shield of statecraft. Seriously, now: who could possibly be more qualified for such a role? Back to Walsh for the last trump.

This is why the Disinformation Governance Board must be stopped now. This is the hill to fight and, if necessary, die on. Because, to paraphrase Chris Walken’s line from True Romance before he kills poor Dennis Hopper: this is as good as it’s going to get, and it won’t ever get that good again.

Nope, it most certainly will not. We’ve had fifty fucking years of confirmation of that fact, watching one appropriate “hill worth dying on” after another grow smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror, to eventually be replaced by its successor and likewise ignored. For some reason, it all reminds me of a quote from Lysander Spooner, one of his most apposite in these parlous times.

It is manifest that the only security against the tyranny of the government lies in forcible resistance to the execution of the injustice; because the injustice will certainly be executed, unless it be forcibly resisted.

Nailed it. Which the man had quite a way of doing sometimes.

Both via Sefton, who also has the perfect obituary for a murdering Leftist piece of buffalo dung who has thankfully assumed room temperature at long, long last. Burn in Hell, bitch.

Update! Kunstler on point.

The truth is that everything the Left stands for these days is some kind of a hustle—which is the cheap street version of a racket, meaning an effort to extract something of value from you dishonestly. It’s the only way they know how to operate. It necessarily and chiefly depends on the deployment of lies, which by definition are propositions at odds with reality. The more they traffic in lies, the further they must distance themselves from reality and try to coerce you to go along with evermore absurdity: mostly peaceful riots…men-with-ovaries…free and fair elections…insurrection…conspiracy theories…Lia Thomas in the fast lane…safe and effective vaccines…Believe it or else!

The Left ends up at war with reality. That adds up to a bad business model for running a society, and the results are now plain to see. What in the USA is not failing these days? Our Potemkin economy of nail parlors, porn sites, pizza huts, casinos, drugs, and helicopter money? Our reckless relations with other countries? Public and higher education? Medicine? Financial markets? The sputtering engine of government under a phantom president? It’s all sinking into chaos and incoherence. For now, food just costs more than ever; wait until it’s simply unavailable. Nobody will care about anything else after that.

All this failure requires cover stories, narratives. Russia did it! Covid-19 did it! White supremacists did it! Trump did it! Narrative failure would equal failure of the Left altogether, so the Left requires the sturdiest possible apparatus for suppressing counter-narratives that lean in the direction of reality, its enemy. The Left found that apparatus in social media, the new vehicle for political debate, especially Twitter, which was so easily, blatantly, and dishonestly manipulated backstage by mysterious code ninjas. Twitter enjoys subsidy relations with government that incline it to do the government’s bidding. In effect, the government enlisted Twitter to undermine and over-ride Americans’ first amendment protections, by proxy.

Now we have the Disinformation Governance Board to be run by a TikTok musical comedy star, Nina Jankowicz, an instant laughingstock, since retailing disinformation has been her main occupation in the scant years she’s been on the Deep State scene. Ms. Jankowicz is a notorious RussiaGate hoaxer and psy-op agent in the October 2020 emergence of Hunter Biden’s laptop. She has zero credibility as anything but a professional falsifier. Her Disinfo Governance Board has no authority to regulate anything. It’s just a lame charade that can only draw more attention to the Left’s hatred of truth and reality. The Left pretends that free speech is a threat to civilization because, as usual, they are projecting psychologically. Their world is a mirror. In fact, the Left is a threat to civilization.

Yep. Not by accident or mistake, not innocently or ignorantly, but with malice aforethought, and plenty of it. Because they intend to destroy said civilization, and are deadly serious about doing so. And they’ll damned sure do that thing, too, if we let them. They’re not bluffing, they’re not joking, and they’re not just talking tough, either. They’ve been telling us, straight up and without equivocation in recent years, precisely what their intentions are—towards our country, our institutions, our values, and our physical selves. The progress they’ve made towards achieving their goal is nothing short of stunning. It’s high time we take them at their word, get off our asses, and eliminate the threat before they manage to get any further along.

“An astonishing but largely forgotten story in Time Magazine explains why there is so much leftist concern today about Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter all Leftists must be killed immediately”

FIFY.

Of all the hysterical leftist reactions to Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter on Monday, MSNBC host Ari Melber’s was easily the most revealing.

“If you own all of Twitter or Facebook or what have you, you don’t have to explain yourself,” he gravely intoned during his show Monday evening. “You don’t even have to be transparent. You could secretly ban one party’s candidate or all of its candidates, all of its nominees, or you could just secretly turn down the reach of their stuff and turn up the reach of something else, and the rest of us might not even find out about it ‘til after the election.”

You don’t say. This was in fact the way the left used social media to win the 2020 presidential election. They even admitted it openly in a stunning yet largely forgotten February 2021 article in Time magazine entitled “The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign that Saved the 2020 Election.”

This reveals the real threat of Musk’s Twitter takeover: If it is no longer possible to suppress factual information in the name of rescuing democracy from its alleged enemies, then those enemies (read: Republicans) might start winning more elections. And that is simply unacceptable.

The notable irony here, of course, is that it’s the Left which is actually unacceptable and must of necessity be brought to heel and/or eliminated, to any Heritage American who infinitely prefers liberty, individual rights, and the pure and undefiled Constitution conceived and codified by our Founder Fathers to…well, to whatever you want to call the abominable shitshow that has its jackboots planted squarely across American throats today, choking the life out of all memory of those fine and noble things.

There is but one proper response to be made to the filthy fucking bastards, and we all well know by now what it is, however unsettling the knowledge is for a great many us. Be that as it may, though, reminding ourselves will always be of benefit.

Aaaay-MEN. Nobody has ever expressed it better. To adjust the old lyric sung by Archie and Edith: Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover Andrew Breitbart again. It’s perfectly true, too; the voluble Breitbart, after freeing himself from the chains of his debilitating Leftism, went on to become Team Liberty’s most effective and indomitable champion, a truly fearless leader who was taken from us much too soon. His loss inflicted a crippling injury that may yet prove to be fatal not only to us, but to absolutely everything we hold dear.

I think we can be sure that Andrew wasn’t being facetious or coy when he made his blunt declaration of war against the Left. Check the anger and sincerity that washes over his face, the sudden ferocity ignited in his eyes, the iron-hard set of his jaw in the pregnant pause before he quietly, almost tonelessly exhales the word war. Clearly, this is no feckless rant by some far-out demagogue who’s using rhetoric to inflame the passions of his acolytes, hoping to advance some private agenda bound to purposes known only to himself. Nothing we know about Breitbart—which is quite a lot, actually, given his unyielding integrity; his sophisticated conceptions of the unjust and unfair, as well as his utter abhorrence for them; his utter disinterest in cloaking himself and his beliefs from public view—suggests he’s being a jot or tittle less than fully open and honest, in this as in all else.

My own belief is that Andrew Breitbart, flamboyant and irrepressible as he so famously was, was probably incapable of hiding his light behind a bushel basket so as to evade public scrutiny. And it would be as much as one’s own life was worth to attempt to coerce him into doing so, even momentarily. There was never any hint of modesty, reticence, or reluctance about the man; his attention was intense and tightly focused, his enthusiasm impossible to dampen or defuse. His character, personality, and natural inclination demanded no more nor less of him than that he lay all his cards on the table for everyone to see, and just be damned to any disapprobation that might come his way due to how he decided to play out the hand he had been dealt.

Another thing Breitbart was well-known for was his energetic affection for and support of the Right blogosphere, which led to genuine friendships with several Right-thinking bloggers. I never met the man myself; to my eternal regret, I had been only marginally aware of Breitbart’s swift climb to the most dizzying altitudes of superstar legitimacy until just a short time before his shocking and tragic departure. I deeply wish I had met him, and could’ve enjoyed a few of the long, late-night telephone conversations which were yet another of the habits for which he was notorious. The opportunity is well and truly lost now, alas, with no possibility of renewal.

“The most dangerous thing happening in America today”

Disband the FBI, Enn Oh Dubbayew. If they won’t go peaceably, then there are other ways of getting the job done.

Via Wes Renegade. The most dangerous thing happening in America today is fucking-A right, whether Nazi assholes like Chris Wray know it or not. Sad to say, though, that the “terrible consequences” Kelly astutely brings up are looking more like the only way it’s ever going to be fixed, and ensure it stays fixed. Well, other than taking off and nuking the entire site from orbit, I mean.

Amazing, innit, how so many of us ordinary Joes like, errr, Jesse Kelly Ripley and Hicks are able to see things clearly and understand the state of play completely, while oily, double-dealing “experts” like Wray Burke, who always seem to think they’re a lot smoother than they really are, couldn’t manage to find their asses with both hands and a compass. Russ Is For Us is another guy with eyes wide open:

Indeed. One more, which I stumbled upon in Kelly’s feed, OT but still a good ‘un.

Ain’t it the truth, Bo. Ain’t it the sad, somber truth.

The nobility of losing

Taking the high road.

Times Square Billboard Exposes Taylor Lorenz for Doxxing Libs of TikTok

Starts off well enough, looks like. So are we finally about to see some real Back atcha!! action dealt out here, a little of the gander’s sauce spooned onto the goose’s plate? Or will our billboard renters stop well short of doing anything more than spending a crapton of their own money to make a supremely futile gesture which shitlibs will react to not with fear and horror, but with derisive laughter and mockery?

Three guesses. First two etc.

Two political commentators teamed up this week to rent a Times Square billboard exposing Washington Post journalist Taylor Lorenz for a report in which she revealed personal information about the Twitter user who runs the Libs of TikTok account.

Commentator and podcast host Tim Pool on Tuesday tweeted a video of the billboard, which reads, “Hey [Washington Post], democracy dies in darkness. That’s why we’re shining a light on you. Taylor Lorenz doxxed @libsoftiktok.”

The commentators disseminated their message in response to Lorenz’s controversial Washington Post report on Libs of TikTok, a conservative Twitter account that showcases teachers who attempt to indoctrinate their students and others who espouse radical left-wing ideology. Lorenz not only revealed the identity of the anonymous person who runs the account but also included a copy of the person’s real estate license, which showed her home address. The Post later removed the home address from the story, then lied about it, saying, “We did not publish or link to any details about her personal life.”

Lorenz, who has a history of taking offense at legitimate criticisms, called the billboard “so idiotic” and said “these campaigns have a much darker and more violent side.”

And then she went back to her home, confident that her address was and would remain private and secure, in marked contrast to how she had treated poor LoTT—WITH THE CONNIVANCE AND ACTIVE ASSISTANCE OF HER EMPLOYER, WHICH HAPPENS TO BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST AND MOST WELL KNOWN ESTABLISHMENT PROPAGANDA MANUFACTORIES IN THE ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD.

SO: for the barbarous crime of quoting the Left’s own words back to them without embellishment or exaggeration, LoTT will spend the next few years fielding entirely credible death threats; finding nasty notes taped to her front door or the tires on her car slashed day after day; being screamed at in random public spaces by wild-eyed, purple-faced moonbats; and just basically living in constant, eminently justified terror, never knowing where the next deranged assault, the next profane diatribe, the next chest-bumping, pushing-and-shoving denunciation might emerge from.

Lorenz, on the other hand, will get a raise, a bonus, and eventually a Pulitzer for her outstanding achievements in “journalism.” Neither harm nor even unpleasantness will befall her; nothing scary or embarrassing will happen to her. Nobody on our side will so much as give her a sniffy look in the restaurant or the movie-theater line.

Because, y’know, that’s not who we are.

When you lose on principle, you’re still a LOSER

John Ringo calls down the FI-YAH! onto some eminently deserving heads, and he couldn’t be righter in what he says.

I’m sick to death of the principles crowd. David French, leader of the Conservative Surrender Chorus, once tweeted “If I supported Trump, I’d never be invited to another dinner party.”

If your politics is based on whether you get invites to dinner parties, you don’t have ‘Principles’. You have the opposite.

We’re in the bunkers being bombarded. We’re Dien Bin Phu. We’re Mariupol. We’re overrun and bleeding to death.

But the worst part. The absolute worst. Is the TrueConservatives that every time we start to take a position quite frankly stab us in the back shouting PRINCIPLES! PRINCIPLES! PRINCIPLES!

If you’re more worried about PRINCIPLES! PRINCIPLES! PRINCIPLES! than @libsoftiktok being doxed, if you’re more worried about PRINCIPLES! PRINCIPLES! PRINCIPLES! than a multi-billion dollar supposedly ‘family friendly’ corporation with loads of largesse given to it by the taxpayers coming out, very publicly, in favor of chemical castration of children…

Then you can take those principles and shove them where the sun don’t shine.

And when the Left learns to fear the Right, when the woke corporation boards gulp and go ‘Okay, we’ll stay out of it’, when the bureaucracy comes to heel…

Then you can be nice. Then you can take the high road.

Until then…

DRIVE YOUR ENEMIES BEFORE YOU! TAKE THE TALLY OF THEIR SLAIN AND THE LAMENTATION OF THEIR WOMEN!

And, yes, salt the earth.

When that is done, we can have a discussion about ‘principles.’

Fucking. A. Right, bub, with great big bells and a nice comfy sweater on it. When all your principles have ever done for you is bring on defeat after shellacking after ass-whuppin’ after humiliation, you must adjust, abandon, or temporarily set principle aside altogether. Fail to do so, whatever the excuse, and eventually those precious principles you so mulishly cling to will be ground into the dust and forgotten forever, even as you yourself will be.

If losing is the only thing your principles are good for, then you got the wrong principles, Jack. There is no honor in allowing all things good, decent, and worthwhile to be brought down in wrack and ruin because your dipshit principles proscribe you from mounting any effective defense against ill-intentioned encroachment on those fine things. Any time capital-P Principle leaves you and your embattled country at the mercy of the victorious Left, perhaps even jeopardizing your personal survival into the bargain, you have a solemn obligation to leave off treading water and struggling to keep Principle’s head safely above the waves and go to work on your enemies toot sweet. In such a situation, either you let useless Principle sink, or you sink and drown right along with it your own self, you obstinate jackass. Hey, maybe in your next life you’ll be a lot smarter. We can only hope so.

Earlier in the piece, Ringo offers a telling compare/contrast that there’s just no way to argue with.

When the Left burned cities, 99% got a slap on the wrist and rarely jail time. Cons go wandering around the capital and they get a vast panoply of human rights violations against them. Obama was the most corrupt administration in recent history except Biden. But they don’t get investigated. Cons get dragged out of their house in the middle of the night by SWAT teams and shown off to the media over obscure regulations. Trump was investigated repeatedly and illegally for things that were never even CONSIDERED worthy of investigation in previous administrations.

Hillary’s pay to play scams are fine. A conservative gets a parking ticket and they’re destroyed.

Why? Why does the Left get away with all of this? Why does nobody stop them?

James Carville said it recently in the reverse: ‘Nobody is afraid of the Democrats!’

Nobody has been afraid of the Republicans in my LIFETIME. Lois Lerner can laugh at a congressional committee the Republicans are running and gets away with it. Strosz can smirk and preen. Bureaucrats and businessmen flat out lie to Republican leadership and nothing happens.

But they don’t do that to Democrats. Why?

Because if you do, the Left will kill you. They will f’ing DESTROY YOU.

Yeppers. Think of it as a lesson for us all, a vital one which closely parallels yet another little thing I’ve been howling into the void for years: WE MUST ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY MAKE THE GOVERNMENT FEAR US AGAIN. If we intend to live as free men, there is simply no way around this. Always, always remember: When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty (more on this quote later). This well-known truism is applicable not only to government but to the Left entire, seeing as how nowadays the Left pretty much IS the government, having infiltrated and then co-opted that along with practically every other institution, organization, university, union, and ladies’ sewing-circle in the country at this point.

It’s the key to absolutely everything; when they felt they no longer had cause to fear us, they confidently began to beaver away at their slow, steady Long March to revoke our freedom and deny us our putatively unalienable rights. The more we let them get away with without ever biting back at them, the more they robbed us of, until we wound up stalled out at a dead end with only one acceptable avenue left to take: HURT THE BASTARDS. Inflict so much agony on them they cannot WAIT to take the boot off our necks and just leave us alone, as we’ve asked them to all along. If we do it right, whatever it takes to make the Bad People (that’s us, folks) stop hurting them and go away, that’s what they’ll happily do.

From then on, once the balance of power has been reestablished to OUR satisfaction, we mustn’t forget to lay a few fresh bruises, lumps, and stripes on ’em now and then—at totally random intervals, out of the blue and with no notice whatsoever, which will scare them even worse—so’s they don’t get to feeling their authoritarian oats, making certain unwholesome assumptions, and picking up old bad habits again. Ain’t no room for recidivism on their part; no half-measures, no dithering, no skiving off or loss of focus on ours will be tolerated. We all must stand our posts, eyes open, alert, and ever vigilant. Any ass that appears to need kicking should be kicked so hard the person hauling it behind will be wearing it as a hat. Commit ourselves to this program, stick with it diligently, and the Proggy will never get above his station to trouble decent folks again.

Let them burn

Jeremy Carl at AG calls a spade a spade.

It’s difficult for us to acknowledge the enormity of the crime that has been committed against our children because it’s hard for us to acknowledge how deeply we have failed. And it’s hard for us to accept that this crime is taking place with the full support of the leadership of one of America’s major political parties and most of the medical establishment. Indeed, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) banned a group of those skeptical of pediatric transgenderism from even setting up a booth at the latest AAP conference. To acknowledge the depth of the transgender transgression against our children is to stare deep into the void of a society in chaos and moral decay.

The mass grooming of our children into pediatric transgenderism and other confused gender identities is a crime of world-historical proportions, a crime which dare not speak its name.

It is useful to illuminate the scale of what is being done to our children. Even now, after years of propaganda, transgenderism scarcely exists among baby boomers and older—just 0.1-0.2 percent; whereas it is 2.1 percent among adults in Gen Z, a figure that appears to be rising.

How many children are being damaged as this is normalized?

Why aren’t we making criminal referrals to all of these “physicians” prescribing this “gender affirming care?”

These “transgender” children are victims and we must channel our justifiable anger at the medical community, the politicians, the “physicians,” the “educators,” the corporations and, when appropriate, the disturbed parents who have enabled this. We should feel rage toward these people and not their young victims.

There are no “transgender kids.” There are confused kids. There are kids with gender dysphoria. There are depressed kids. There are feminine boys and masculine girls. There are kids who have been groomed and abused by the system, our corporations, our education system, and our media for years and are now deeply damaged. But there are no trans kids. There are only adults who have stolen our children’s innocence.

We lack the language to even describe the level of violation that has taken place. Joe Biden has absurdly labeled transgenderism “the civil rights issue of our time.” He has said there is “no room for compromise” on the issue. If there is no room for compromise with those who support genital mutilation of children than we are truly ruled by demons in human form.

Consider Richard “Rachel” Levine. It is not a coincidence that our first Senate-confirmed transgender federal official was appointed as assistant secretary for health, where of course, he has legal oversight over much of this madness. If Levine were an assistant secretary of commerce, far fewer people would care. The absurdity is the point. The deviance is the point. To have someone suffering from florid mental illness shaming and mocking normality is the point.

“Maybe the target nowadays is not to discover what we are but to refuse what we are,” wrote the French philosopher and left-wing hero Michel Foucault, in his 1982 book, The Subject and Power. In attempting to force their transgender madness on the youngest and and most innocent members of our society, the Left has elevated this principle to a central sacrament in their depraved and false religion.

Actually, I agree completely with Gropey Joe on one thing, albeit from the opposite corner of the ring: there is indeed no room for compromise with depraved shitlib monsters like himself, nor with ANY of his fellow shitlibs. Normal, sane, decent Americans must at long last recognize this crucial truth, stop wasting their time and energy in pursuit of something that is neither achievable nor worthwhile, and get to work immediately to exorcise these demons from the body politic, casting them back into the furnaces of Hell where they belong.

Not in our stars, Horatio, but in our selves

More and more, it begins to look as if my friend Claire and I might just be one more example validating the “great minds think alike” hypothesis.

It’s true. We’re most free when we can just take our freedom for granted.

But you see the problem there, of course. Our not thinking about freedom leaves control freaks free to pursue our enslavement. Then by the time we’re aware of what they’re doing, it may be too late.

In theory, it’s possible to set up bulwarks that operate more-or-less automatically against government-gone-mad (constitutions, decentralized political structures), but in practice few of them work very well or very long.

Now, living an age of despotism whose manic growth we’re compelled to witness during 24/7 news cycles, we have to be on constant watch, right down to a fight-or-flight biological level. Because even if we’ve chosen the course of maximum freedom we still need to know, and move in response to, what’s coming at us.

HOW we move in response is up to our discretion, and I think most of us realize that political action — other than on the most local levels — is just playing the game Our Glorious Rulers want us to play.

Later this year, barring some more dramatic form of manipulation, we’ll cheer as the R-party broom sweeps the D-party dust out of office. Pundits will pund. Hands will be virally wrung. The End of Democracy will come ’round once more. On the winning side, cheers will be cheered. Promises will be promoted. Freedom will be rung. Swamps will be threatened with draining.

And not a damn thing will change. Except a few cosmetics, which the next power turnover will bring back.

Still, we will watch the coming turnover and want desperately to be happy about it. Because the alternative is…

Plenty more left to take in here, every word of it Gold Medal-winning quality, spanning several categories: Reasoning, Composition, Logical Cohesiveness, and Analysis. What I’ve come to really enjoy over the years Claire and I been reading each other’s work is that at times, each of us seems to be channeling the other’s thoughts. We’re almost always in complete agreement with each others’ conclusions, and then we toddle off to write about the topic of the day in very different styles, rhythms, and phrasing.

This interplay between the friction-free synchronication of our intellectual gearworks, juxtaposed with our operational variances of style and craft just intrigues all hell outta me. I’ve been noticing our odd same thoughts/different words relationship for a goodish while now, and it tickles me good. I consider it both strange and wonderful, as the reformed KGB goon/hot dog cart operator said of America towards the end of Moscow On The Hudson.

Some shrink really oughta write a book about us, I believe. Anyhoo, back to the esteemed Miz’riz Wolfe* for the closer.

The Crazy—and the Crazies—will not win. In the long run, they can’t win because the world operates on realities, and realities always reassert themselves. Kipling knew. Everybody with a grasp of how reality operates knows.

The Crazies can do—and are doing and will do—a whale of a lot of damage in the short run. And the short run could last a painfully long time. They’ll blight a society and perhaps even bring it down. They’ll provoke a backlash that could lead to a Nehemiah Scudder or worse.

Havoc they will create. Suffering they will impose. Confusion they will sew. A million individual tragedies they will have to answer for. Tyranny they are already grimly advancing. But win? No, they will not. Because reality always triumphs in the end. And in that battle the Crazies are by definition on the losing side.

Havoc they’ll create, suffering they will impose? Not if we stop them with all the mail-fisted BANG, ZOOM!™ we can unleash on their empty heads, they won’t. The one and only reason their tyrannical agenda has grimly advanced as far as it has is because Our Side has sat passively back on our soft, flubbery haunches and allowed it to happen without so nuch as a token gesture of pushback from us. That speaks quite poorly of Real Americans, a real-world example which soundly rubbishes all their puffed-up gasbaggery declaring how very, very much they love “Muh freedumbs!!” Sorry, Cletus, but I’m afraid I’m gonna need to see some viable, no-shit proof of your rock-solid commitment to individual liberty before I’ll be willing to swallow any more of that empty, chest-thumping flummery again.

The link Claire helpfully provides in the above excerpt, in case you hadn’t guessed already, is to Rudyard Kipling’s seminal poem The Gods Of The Copybook Headings. The choice to bring up this particular work is only meet and just, seeing as how Gods… is one of Kipling’s many timeless masterpieces that somehow never offers a single hint of the stale aroma that typically wafts off the outdated, the irrelevant, or the no longer applicable. You can love him, you can hate him, but you can’t gainsay his insight, the solid truth behind it, nor his powerful way of expreesing it. Same deal with Claire Wolfe. Any poor soul foolish enough to contradict her does so at his own risk.

*When I was a wee grade-school tyke, there was a black kid in the same class with me who couldn’t pronounce “Mrs” for the life of him, folding, spindling, and mutilating it into the closest approximation he could gargle out: “Miz’riz.” Which, interestingly enough, may not be as goofy and incorrect as it first appears. See, “Mrs” was originally used as a contraction for “Mistress,” and is almost never seen in fully spelled-out form. Actually, there IS no standardized, officially-approved spelling; it was always just plain old “Mrs,” and that’s it

SI SI PUEDE!!!

Our good friend Steve says it so I don’t have to.

Today is April 22. You know what that means: This evening, bring an electric heater outside and turn it on. Start up your oldest, dirtiest lawn mower and let it run for an hour. Change the oil in your car and dump the old down the storm drain. Take a dump on the HOA president’s front porch.

Keep your eye on the goal: to cause shortages and a destroyed environment and a general sense of crisis so that watermelons can continue to shout about dooooom and raise money. Because you know that’s what it’s all about, right? Keeping the watermelon’s shriveled, red, commie souls wrapped in lots of greenbacks.

Precisely so. It’s just now dusk where I live, so I need to go around hitting dem switches and making dem needles jump, boyo. Let’s make this year’s goal to tax those generators, turbines, and coal-burners (not the miscegenating women, the power plants, ya jerk) so severely it causes disastrous shutdowns all across the benighted plain, folks! Remember, every breaker you trip or fuse you blow makes another shitlib Watermelon cry.

It’s a PedoWorld after all

Disney’s Groomer problem is nothing whatsoever new for them, and pretty much EVERYBODY is in on it.

Many Americans might be surprised to learn that Disney’s war against DeSantis’ anti-groomer law exists within a context of a long history of questionable conduct on the part of the company. Few these days remember that “Clinton Cash” author Peter Schweizer wrote a bombshell investigative exposé in 1999 on Walt Disney World called “Disney: The Mouse Betrayed.”

The explosive book caught the eye of Brian Ross, ABC’s top investigative reporter. He landed an exclusive contract with the publisher of the book and quickly began working with Schweizer on a piece for the news show 20/20.

Schweizer’s book alleged very serious safety and hiring problems at Florida’s Walt Disney World, and also centered on mass corruption, greed, and children at risk.

The 20/20 piece focused on the book’s claim that Walt Disney World neglected to perform proper security checks that would have prevented the hiring of sex offenders, as well as allegations that the park had a serious “peeping Tom” problem.

Betcha can’t guess what happened next. I’m sure anyone who’s been asleep under a rock in a cave deep in the side of a mountain on Pluto for, oh, the past hundred years or so will be utterly shocked by it. The rest of us, ehhh, not so much.

David Westin was the president of ABC News and when he got wind of the Disney exposé, he quickly killed the project.

Many speculated he axed the piece because Walt Disney Co. owned ABC. However, ABC spokeswoman Eileen Murphy denied those claims, and said the story just “didn’t work,” and it had nothing to do with Disney.

Nobody believed that excuse.

Nobody SHOULD have believed it, either, if only for the simple reason that it ain’t believable.

Author Peter Schweizer, desperate to save the story, went back and watered down the script and resubmitted it, but Westin still refused to air the segment.

In its place, 20/20 ran a story about dogs on Prozac.

Well, naturally. After all, ripping the lid off Doping Doggy Dope Fiends On Dope is real by-God NEWS!!!™—journalism of the very highest order, worthy of multiple Pulitzers, Nobels, Tonys, Emmys, Oscars, and any other awards they might handing out without doing a whole lot in the way of justificational research to back the plaudits up. The fiend Schweizer’s disgraceful Disney hack job, on the other hand—which I’ve already forgotten all about and so have you, if you know what’s good for you—is nothing but prurient, lowbrow sensationalism, an insult to the dignity and intelligence of any right(Left)-thinking person.

The interesting thing is that ABC hadn’t shied away from running pieces on Disney in the past. Back in March 1998, they ran a so-called “hit piece” on Disney (among other US companies) who were hiring workers from a Pacific island and paying them very low wages.

So, low wages for Pacific islanders were okay to talk about, just don’t mention alleged pedophiles and peeping Toms who were potentially endangering American children.

Another non-surprise, for anyone who knows his shitlibs like I do mine. Pacific islanders, you see, can reasonably be thought of as one of the “racial minority” victim-group threads sewn into the crazy quilt of Progtardia, near the top of the list of fetish objects which make shitlib knees weak, hearts throb, and tear ducts dilate and flow copiously in love and devotion. American children, the majority of whom can reasonably be thought of as “White,” are not nearly so well-liked. As I said, now that Disney, as with every other American cultural institution that’s been Shitlibified—which is to say, ALL OF THEM—it’s an old story.

Year after year, Disney employees are arrested in sex sting operations set up by local authorities and for possessing child pornography. And it’s not just random maintenance workers with no interaction with kids who are being arrested. Many of these alleged child predators are security guards, hotel staff, performers, and other workers who come in close contact with children every day.

Yet another instance of “no surprise.” “American” Progtards having made abundantly clear and then some that they’re A-okay with Short Eyes kiddie-diddlers, devotees of group sex with livestock, and members of the Cannibal Incest League advocacy group, along with all the other stripes in the sexual-deviancy rainbow, the pedos are just taking a page from Willie Sutton’s playbook and going to where the money is, so to speak. The three-schlonged question that fairly screams for a serious looking-into now is one of categorization: What proportion of adult shitlibs (yeah, I know, an oxymoron) are actively-practicing pedophiles, what proportion are at best pedophile-curious, and what merely vociferous advocates for the sexual exploitation of 5-year-old children?

Just kidding, of course, it’s a rhetorical question. I’m pretty sure none of us really wants to know, lest the answer demand that every last shitlib be put to the sword, the stake, or the hangman’s necktie.

Occupied America

The national character has changed, and not for the better.

Over the last two years in America, I’ve witnessed our own forces of evil with incredulity, despair, and rage. Corruption, blasphemy, and absurdity have been accepted by one-half of the electorate as the cost of doing business; as has the fear this acceptance generates. Does anyone actually believe that men change into women and women into men who can give birth, that the Earth is burning, the seas are rising, and we’ll all perish unless we cover our faces with strips of cotton?

No one does. These proclamations are an act of faith, in a new, as yet unnamed religion, and the vehemence with which one proclaims allegiance to these untruths is an exercise no different from any other ecstatic religious oath. They become the Apostles’ Creed of the left, their proclamation committing the adherent physically to their strictures, exactly as the oath taken on induction to the armed services. The inductee is told to “take one step forward,” and once they do he or she can no longer claim, “I misunderstood the instruction.”

Those currently in power insist on masking, but don’t wear masks. They claim the seas are rising and build mansions on the shore. They abhor the expenditure of fossil fuels and fly exclusively in private jets. And all the while half of the country will not name the disease. Why?

Because the cost of challenging this oppressive orthodoxy has, for them, become too high. Upon a possible awakening, they—or more likely their children—might say that the country was occupied. And they would be right.

Gandhi said to the British, you’ve been a guest in our house for too long, it is time for you to leave. He borrowed the line from Oliver Cromwell, and it’s a good one. The left has occupied the high places for too long, promoting dogma even as the occasions for their complaint have decreased (what position is closed to people of color, or women? Inclusion in all levels of the workforce; preference in higher education, a seat in the cockpit, in the Oval Office, in a movie’s cast, or admission to an elite school+? And yet the vehemence of their protests has increased, progressing into blacklisting and even rioting by those claiming to represent “the oppressed.”

Old-time physicians used to speak of the disease “declaring itself.” History teaches that one omnipresent aspect of a coup is acts of reprisal staged by agents provocateurs of the revolutionaries, and blamed on supporters of the legitimate government. It would be a historical anomaly if we were not to see such between now and the midterm elections.

For the disease has declared itself, and we are not now in a culture war, but a nascent coup, with its usual cast of characters. The Bolshevists could have been defeated by a company of soldiers in the suburbs of Moscow, Hitler stopped at Czechoslovakia, and the current horrors confronted at the Minneapolis police station or a meeting of the San Francisco school board. But those tragedies, and our current tragedies, were not just allowed but encouraged to run their course.

Yet I believe there is hope for reason and self-direction.

As you would expect, America’s Governor, DeSantis the Great, comes in for a mention shortly after that statement. As well he should. Mamet, that most rara of show-biz avii—ie, a recovered Leftist—himself, closes the piece with a question I find chilling:

Now, the disease having proclaimed itself and its dangers having become clear, it is time for us all to overcome the occupation by standing up to those tyrannies under which we are not prepared to live.

Time, and long past time. Just one leeeetle problem. These days, can we say with any confidence that there are ANY tyrannies under which the majority of “Americans” are not fully prepared to live? Because from where I’m sitting, they seem to have made themselves perfectly comfortable with pretty much all of ’em, braying incessantly in boastful praise of their precious “‘Murcafreedom!” while they bend over and spread dem cheeks so as to more easily take the latest high, hard one from their Überstaat ALL the way in.

The article’s subhed says “Brave dissenters willing to defy an oppressive orthodoxy are our country’s best hope,” and I can’t really disagree; such defiance was once part of the bedrock of the American nation, and must be nurtured in the breast of any person who intends to live his life as a free man. But how much hope is left to us, really, when we see less and less of defiance out there, and more of compliance?

Just because a population has convinced itself that surrender might be analogous to a kind of victory when contrasted with the horror, devastation, and death of even the most just and righteous war; that even a peace purchased via accepting the bit of subjugation can still be considered a bargain; that pacifism and nonviolence can still be honorable and noble stances even when there are tyrants, despots, and brutal monsters running amok, unopposed and unrestrained, amongst We The People—these things do NOT mean said population isn’t COMPLETELY FULL OF SHIT just the same. Not by a long yard, they don’t. Kinda the other way around, actually.

The worst has happened. Anything on Netflix tonight?

Oh no, not that. Anything but THAT.

BREAKING: U.S. Capitol Evacuated Due to ‘Probable Threat’ From Aircraft

Please, dear God, no.

The United States Capitol was evacuated Wednesday evening due to a “probable threat” from an aircraft, the U.S. Capitol Police said.

How perfectly awful.

“The USCP is tracking an aircraft that poses a probable threat to the Capitol complex,” the statement said, according to an email posted on Twitter by a Capitol staffer.

Gee, hope everyone’s okay. It would be just terrible if anyone was hurt.

Moments later, Capitol Police informed staffers that the aircraft no longer posed a threat.

Oh, good then. Sean Davis mines the rich, rich vein of hilarity here for all he can extract.

The Golden Knights, eh? Military Appreciation Day? What on earth would lead one to assume any reptile slithering and sliming around in the Mordor on the Potomac cesspool would know, or care, the first dang thing about THAT? Jesse Kelly Goes Sean one better:

It’s funny ’cause it’s true, and you know it is. Being ever the optimistic type, I’ll content myself with considering this a dress rehearsal.

One nation, divisible

Only a day old, and already this story has been overtaken by events. (the Biden junta, after initially indicating otherwise, has decided to further litigate the earlier decision). No matter though; the way Kruiser slices, dices, and juliennes the Fauxvid panic-ninnies is a thing of beauty nonetheless.

As we have often marveled in the last couple of years, the divisions in this country are clear, deepening, and probably permanent. Trump’s election in 2016 got the ball rolling and the Wuhan Chinese Bat Flu really helped clarify the battle lines in the family feud. I’ve occasionally been wistful for the days when I could hang out with people of all political persuasions and have a good time.

Now the people on the other side freak me right out.

I awoke yesterday morning to some news that I have been waiting for. Paula covered it:

A federal judge in Florida on Monday struck down the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) federal mask mandate for public transportation, granting summary judgment to the Health Freedom Defense Fund Inc., which had challenged the mandate.

U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, who was appointed to the bench by former President Donald Trump, ruled that the mandate “exceeded the CDC’s statutory authority, improperly invoked the good cause exception to notice and comment rulemaking, and failed to adequately explain its decisions.” Therefore, Mizelle wrote, “the Court declares unlawful and vacates the Mask Mandate.”

As a result, the judge remanded the mandate back to the CDC for “further proceedings consistent with this order.”

Of course, I’m not the only one who was waiting for the announcement. Sane people everywhere were.

Because we have the whole Two Americas thing going on, however, the news wasn’t met with universal applause.

Stephen then proceeds to present a truly toothsome Tweet of his own devising:

Preach, brother, preach. My own answer to the inanely-formulated question so prissily posed by Miss Stern—who should decide whether air passengers must wear masks?—would be as follows, and to wit: Myself, and no damned body else, THAT’S who. But hey, I’m American like that, so you gotta make allowances. And that right there is the point where Meestah Kruiser really gets with it.

There were a lot of diaper-soiling reactions like that from the leftist mask fetish crowd.

It’s a kink with these emotional cripples. They crave being controlled by the government. It’s a turn-on for them. The thought of being left to their own devices terrifies their submissive, masochistic psyches.

From my perspective (which is always the correct one), this is like dealing with people who insist that the crazy person stab them in the eye because it’s more comfortable knowing where the knife is going than dealing with variables. These people are afraid of autonomy and making choices for themselves. Leftists loathe personal responsibility, which is why they leg-hump leaving that kind of thing up to bureaucrats.

There is almost zero science supporting the efficacy of the cloth masks people are wearing on planes. It’s as medically and scientifically sound as burning sage or relying on the judicious petting of one’s lucky kitten. The body of evidence proving these people wrong has been reaching Everestian heights recently. Those clinging to the “masks as Captain America shields” theory are not serious or mentally capable people.

Ixnay on that last, Steve, albeit partially; they’re definitely not mentally capable, right enough, but you better just believe they are one thousand and ten percent serious, as the briefest look at the current state of play in this sorely-beset nation will confirm. Don’t let’s be kidding ourselves that they’re anything but, nor that they aren’t also fully prepared to deal with those of us who have no intention of ever bending the knee to them and their detestable ilk, just as ruthlessly as they feel we need to be dealt with in order to yank us firmly into line with the program of the Reich. Count on it, come to grips with it, stiffen your resolve…and above all else, keep loading those magazines. The time is nigh upon us when a nice, tall stack of preloaded Magpul thirty-rounders is going to come in mighty useful, I think.

If you are in fact a legit hooman bean desirous of registering yourself a CF user name so as to be able to comment only to find yourself caught up as collateral damage in one of my irregularly (un)scheduled sweeps for hinky registration attempts, please shoot me a kite at the email addy over in the right sidebar and let me know so’s I can get ya fixed up manually.

ALSO NOTE: You MUST use a valid, legit email address in order to successfully register, the new anti-spam software I installed last night requires it. My thanks to Barry for all his help sorting this mess out last night.

Comments appear entirely at the whim of the guy who pays the bills for this site and may be deleted, ridiculed, maliciously edited for purposes of mockery, or otherwise pissed over as he in his capricious fancy sees fit. The CF comments section is pretty free-form and rough and tumble; tolerance level for rowdiness and misbehavior is fairly high here, but is NOT without limit.

Management is under no obligation whatever to allow the comments section to be taken over and ruined by trolls, Leftists, and/or other oxygen thieves, and will take any measures deemed necessary to prevent such. Conduct yourself with the merest modicum of decorum, courtesy, and respect and you'll be fine. Pick pointless squabbles with other commenters, fling provocative personal insults, issue threats, or annoy the host (me) and...you won't.

Should you find yourself sanctioned after running afoul of the CF comments policy as stated and feel you have been wronged, please download and complete the Butthurt Report form below in quadruplicate; retain one copy for your personal records and send the others to the email address posted in the right sidebar.

Please refrain from whining, sniveling, and/or bursting into tears and waving your chubby fists around in frustrated rage, lest you suffer an aneurysm or stroke unnecessarily. Your completed form will be reviewed and your complaint addressed whenever management feels like getting around to it. Thank you.

"There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."
Daniel Webster

“When I was young I was depressed all the time. But suicide no longer seemed a possibility in my life. At my age there was very little left to kill.”

“A slave is one who waits for someone to come and free him.”

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”
Frank Zappa

“The right of a nation to kill a tyrant in case of necessity can no more be doubted than to hang a robber, or kill a flea.”
John Adams

"It is terrible to contemplate how few politicians are hanged."
GK Chesterton

"I predict that the Bush administration will be seen by freedom-wishing Americans a generation or two hence as the hinge on the cell door locking up our freedom. When my children are my age, they will not be free in any recognizably traditional American meaning of the word. I’d tell them to emigrate, but there’s nowhere left to go. I am left with nauseating near-conviction that I am a member of the last generation in the history of the world that is minimally truly free."
Donald Sensing

"The only way to live free is to live unobserved."
Etienne de la Boiete

"History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid."
Dwight D. Eisenhower

"To put it simply, the Left is the stupid and the insane, led by the evil. You can’t persuade the stupid or the insane and you had damn well better fight the evil."

"There is no better way to stamp your power on people than through the dead hand of bureaucracy. You cannot reason with paperwork."
David Black, from Turn Left For Gibraltar

"If the laws of God and men, are therefore of no effect, when the magistracy is left at liberty to break them; and if the lusts of those who are too strong for the tribunals of justice, cannot be otherwise restrained than by sedition, tumults and war, those seditions, tumults and wars, are justified by the laws of God and man."
John Adams

"The limits of tyranny are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress."
Frederick Douglass

"Give me the media and I will make of any nation a herd of swine."
Joseph Goebbels

“I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”
Ronald Reagan

"Ain't no misunderstanding this war. They want to rule us and aim to do it. We aim not to allow it. All there is to it."
NC Reed, from Parno's Peril

"I just want a government that fits in the box it originally came in."
