Telegraphing their punches

This Ralph Peters post from a few days ago dovetails pretty nicely with BCE’s post below on Predictive Programming.

How do we know what they are planning to do to us? Easy. Just listen to what they tell us they’re planning to do to us.

As for example this recent business with PayPal. A “policy” was announced (and quickly retracted) that stated account holders would be “fined” for the usually opaque reasons, such as “spreading misinformation” – never specifically defined – as if that mattered because PayPal wasn’t talking about refusing to provide a platform for the propagation of views it opposes (even if factual).

That being merely censorship.

And yes, it is precisely that when it is done in cooperation with the government, as a way to get around the irritating First Amendment that would otherwise constrain the government. The whack-a-mole nonsense about “private companies” having the “right” to not publish that which is disagreeable to them is precisely that – nonsense – because the “social media” corporations are creatures of the government as a matter of legal standing and simple fact and, moreover, actively work with the government to suppress the publication of that which the government regards as disagreeable.

But PayPal is not a “social media” company and what it proposed to do wasn’t merely to refuse to do business with those it finds disagreeable – which is an interesting thing in its own right when you remember that the Left has winnied for decades about the wrongfulness of free association in business transactions. It is in fact illegal – “discrimination” – to decline to transact business with, for instance, people whose sexual orientation you regard as not merely distasteful but morally wrong. Try – if you own a bake shop – to refuse to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple, for instance. The government will fine you – and worse – for doing that.

So much for free association…when it doesn’t suit the Left.

And also when it does.

Anyhow, they wanted to let us know. It wasn’t an accident, a sllp of the tongue – a poorly worded “release.” It was a shot across the bow. It was a warning that this is what they intend for us.

And what is that, exactly?

It is a system of total financial control in which your economic life can be ended as easily as turning off the power. It is the individual-level manifesation of ESG – the Environmental, Social and Governance shibboleths that lately determine corporate investment (or not) and in what (or not). Not according to what benefits shareholders but rather, according to what furthers-along whatever the narrative-du-jour happens to be. “Climate change,” for instance. It drives investment capital away from things that make money – and work – such as oil and cars that aren’t electric and diverts it toward “green” energy and EeeeeeeVeeees that don’t.

The next step is the application of ESG Principles to individuals – by punishing them when they fail to hew to the narrative-du-jour. Post something critical of “climate change” hysteria – or a fact about the drugs that aren’t “vaccines” – and they will simply Hoover up your money and style it a “fine.” It’ll do a lot to make sure you stay in line.

If you doubt it’s what they have planned, you failed to get the message they just sent.

What can we do?

I favor shooting the fucking bastards in the fucking face with a full-auto battle rifle myself, but maybe that’s just me. I’m ornery like that sometimes.

As to PayPal’s shift from being a payment portal right into full-bore gangsterism and grand larceny, y’all may have noticed the new Gab Pay link over in the right sidebar. Barry was kind enough to test it for me with a donation, but after talking it over a bit with him earlier today we still aren’t completely sure it’s working correctly. The problem probably exists somewhere between my monitor and my chair, but in any event I’m thinking I’ll leave the PayPal button in place for the nonce, until such time as I’m confident I have everything wired and plumbed properly. Is there really NOTHING they’ll leave alone? No need to answer that one; it’s a rhetorical question, one whose answer we already know.

The creators of a new “Scooby-Doo” movie have finally depicted Velma as a lesbian on screen, after years of speculation about the beloved character’s sexuality but no definitive portrayals of her as queer in the popular cartoon franchise.

Velma crushes on another female character, a costume designer named Coco Diablo, in a Halloween special, “Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo,” that was released online Tuesday and will debut on Cartoon Network on Oct. 14. She’s voiced by actor and comedian Kate Micucci.

In one scene, Velma’s glasses fog up and her cheeks redden as she fawns over Coco. “Jinkies,” Velma says — her classic tag line. She flirts with Coco throughout the movie, clearly smitten.

Velma gets into some hot, down and dirty dildo action with Coco in 5…4…3…2…Because, y’know, that’s what Saturday morning cartoons are really all about, innit.

Everything about gay sex, nothing outside gay sex, no gay sexual stones left unturned. Even, now, childrens’ cartoons. What a bunch of despicable, repulsive, sex-obsessed freaks these shitlibs are.

Amerikan ordeal

Apologies to the author, JB Shurk, for my wanton stomping flat of the very concept of Fair Use. He’s written another of those excellent, Wilder-esque pieces that I just can’t see any way around it.

Several members of the community recently focused my attention on the plight of J6 political prisoner Jonathan Mellis, who has already spent nineteen months in the American Gulag for the “crime” of protesting against his government.

Mellis is one of hundreds who have endured the wrath of a wayward Washington politburo that has thrown Americans’ Bill of Rights and founding principles right out the window. Dennis Prager actually managed to secure a fifteen-minute interview with the incarcerated Mellis on December 22, 2021, and has replayed the disturbing audio for his listeners several times. I encourage anyone who has not already come across it to find a few minutes to concentrate on their conversation. The thirty-five-year-old Mellis, whom Prager identifies as a native Tennessean, although he was arrested in Virginia, sounds remarkably calm and composed, considering that he had already endured nearly a full year in jail (with no end yet in sight) and was obviously communicating with Prager from behind enemy lines.

His story is similar to those of other J6 political prisoners caught up in this abusive, Soviet-style purge, yet his descriptions are unnervingly poignant. Like so many of us who angrily watched as mass mail-in balloting and other pandemic-related voting shenanigans corrupted the 2020 election, Mellis hoped January 6 would stand as a historic day when civic-minded Americans engaging in political protest would successfully convince Congress and the courts to take a hard look at the suspicious irregularities tainting the election. He is undoubtedly a fiercely patriotic American who loves his country and would sacrifice anything for it. He speaks as a man committed to America’s foundations in liberty. He does not sound as if malice has blighted his heart. He arrived in D.C. to defend America’s standing as the “Land of the Free.” He expected to rectify an electoral injustice. He wanted D.C.’s permanent bureaucracy to visually see the resolve of millions of Americans’ moral conviction. He expected triumph. And he has received little but despair.

Instead of delivering historic jubilation, January 6 has marked a hard turning point in his life and the beginning of an unrelenting nightmare. He’s been in and out of solitary confinement, endured an onslaught of racist invective and other verbal abuse, witnessed beatings from guards, spit out contaminated food, been denied hygienic care, and suffered through an unsanitary hellscape of backed up toilets and filthy, fetid cells meant to break his will and coerce him into accepting some kind of plea deal. He describes the agony of surviving alone for days at a time, cut off from reality and forced to seek solace in the refuge of his mind. The last time he saw his father was when he was being dragged away with the kind of force one might expect to be used against a wanted terrorist. When his father, a decorated Vietnam War veteran, died a few months later, Judge Emmet Sullivan (yes, the same Sullivan who hounded General Michael Flynn and insisted on persecuting him long after the government sought to drop its politically-motivated criminal charges) summarily denied his request to attend the funeral, again equating him to a violent terrorist who must be made to suffer. In Mellis’s words, you hear the story of a man who has been psychologically tortured and kept in a constant state of apprehension at what will befall him next. You hear a man whom the federal government wishes to drown in fear.

Yet you also hear a man who refuses to break. “We sing the National Anthem every single night, at nine P.M., with our hands on our hearts,” he tells Prager. Imagine that for one small moment. The U.S. government — with its armies of prosecutors, FBI Gestapo squads, complicit judges, and corrupt news media propagandists who ask no questions while pushing the all-powerful State’s lies — has targeted Jonathan Mellis and nearly a thousand other Americans for being “insurrectionists” and “domestic terrorists” intent on “overthrowing” the United States. Yet it is Mellis and a few dozen other political prisoners who seek to lift each other’s spirits by singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” each night. You know — the poetic anthem that stirred in the mind and soul of Francis Scott Key as he watched a large American flag flying triumphantly over Fort McHenry while it sustained bombardment from Britain’s Royal Navy during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812.

So committed to “insurrection” and “overthrowing” the government of the United States are the federal government’s “dangerous” political prisoners that they gather their strength when they’re able and sing tribute to the very nation that inflicts upon them such grievous harm. These are the American patriots the D.C. Despots have decided to torment, torture, and betray. These are the lost Americans who have been mostly forgotten for now but who will one day serve as living testament to Washington’s venality and as a breathing reminder of the horrendously ignoble American Gulag. These are the Americans the federal government wishes to break before all our eyes, so that no citizen anywhere will ever again consider electing an unapproved outsider candidate for president, calling out government corruption, or demanding justice from those who pretend to dispense it. How many denizens of D.C. could even accurately recite America’s National Anthem? I wonder. It’s as Prager said to Mellis upon hearing about the patriotic revelry: “That, my friend, is considered an extremist.”  Damn right.

Because Mellis refuses to break, he will remain a target in the crosshairs of an immoral government dedicated to persecution, not principle. He is of particular focus because he was involved directly in the mêlée that resulted in Rosanne Boyland’s death. She “died right in front of me,” Mellis said on a recorded phone call from jail.  “I still hear the blood curdling screams for help at night.” Boyland’s death was originally blamed on a drug overdose, but video footage shows her being repeatedly beaten by a D.C. police officer. Mellis is seen pushing back against police, while trying to defend Boyland from further injury. As further evidence of good character, Mellis is recorded earlier in the day assisting an officer who had fallen into the crowd. Normally, we would recognize that kind of pattern-or-practice evidence as demonstrating moral courage. The federal criminal justice system sees it as proof why Mellis should be held in jail without bail, trial, or prospect of release.

None of this is right. We have gone so far beyond what is good and right or fair that the damage the Washington Establishment class continues to inflict will fester like an unhealed wound upon the nation’s body politic, striking even the most complacent among us with its putrid stench. The Occupant of the White House, Joe Biden, insists that when Americans have the temerity to question election results or the sacred honor of their government bureaucrats, they threaten the U.S. Constitution itself. As with most utterances from Biden, his words are un-American and preposterous. We seek a renewal of the Constitution and a rejection of the Washington Deep State’s casual disregard for its meaning and the intentional malice its bureaucratic servants dedicate to its degradation. Just as with Mellis and other J6 political prisoners, we stand with America.

As the horrific plight of Mellis and his fellow dissidents in the New Amerikan Gulag incontrovertibly confirms, America is but a fond memory. The title of the post is apt, blunt, and in a way, unfortunate: Enough Already: Release the J6 Political Prisoners. Until those Shurk calls “the most complacent among us” rouse themselves to effective action, the J6 Patriots will remain in durance vile—because the title’s explicit demand falls on the deaf ears of tyrants, who have no intention whatsoever of releasing anybody. If anything, the cells of the New Gulag will be filling up with many more of us as time rolls on, while we continue to do nothing in support of our unjustly-persecuted countrymen.

As of  9/6, there have been over 900 Americans arrested and charged for the “crime” of exercising their Constitutionally-guaranteed right to protest—to petition for redress of grievances. Around 65 or so of them are in prison, almost all of them convicted on bullshit charges of “parading,” not insurrection or treason. Of those, many have been denied any semblance of due process, and are incarcerated in squalid, inhumane conditions like poor Jon Mellis, as described above. If the soulless Swamp monsters and their willing dupes who prattle endlessly and insufferably on in turgid condemnation of the “destruction” and “damage” of the J6 “riots”; the “defiling” of “the citadel of our sacred democracy”; the “violence” of the J6 “insurrectionists”; and the “treason” committed by those dastardly “revolutionaries” really want to avert an encore, perhaps they could consider not doing things that make insurrection seem needful to MAGA Americans.

The FBI And DOJ Criminalizing Opposition To The Regime Is How The Republic Ends
A two-tier justice system is not a justice system. It is a totalitarian system. Its purpose is not justice but population control.

On Thursday, Barack Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder decided it was the time to bring the subtext of the Jan. 6 show trials and related domestic security state activities into the open.

“My guess is that by the end of this process, you’re going to see indictments involving high-level people in the White House, you’re going to see indictments against people outside the White House who were advising them with regard to the attempt to steal the election, and I think ultimately you’re probably going to see the president, former president of the United States indicted as well,” Holder told SiriusXM host Joe Madison.

Holder noted that the U.S. Department of Justice he formerly headed is working with the illegally constituted Jan. 6 Commission towards this goal. We know these entities are also working with the FBI, whose head bit his thumb at congressional oversight repeatedly in a public hearing last week.

An indictment of former President Donald Trump would be a breathtakingly authoritarian turn. It would amount to the U.S. security state refusing to accept “no” from America’s voters yet again. An indictment would be an unelected and unaccountable federal agency overruling voters’ two-time rejection of impeachment through their elected representatives.

This is the core danger of the administrative state: Its now open propensity to go rogue. It is apparently hellbent now on turning the United States into a banana republic.

The Deep State’s muscular veto over Who Will Rule is being flexed right out in the open with its implacable, fanatical, systemic persecution of Trump both during his nefariously derailed White House tenure and back on Civvy Street.

Democrats called Donald Trump a fascist, authoritarian, and wannabe dictator for chants at his rallies of “Lock her up,” referring to his opponent Hillary Clinton. At the time, leftists pointed out that imprisoning, interrogating, investigating, and otherwise using government resources to harass and prosecute one’s political opponents was the mark of tyrannical regimes such as Vladimir Putin’s and Adolf Hitler. “Democracies don’t lock up political opponents,” the Washington Post editorial board told us in 2016.

Anybody foolhardy, naive, or gullible enough to still believe that Amerika v2.0 is a “democracy,” please find a thick, plush towel to dry yourself behind the ears, mmmkay? It’s the most bitter irony I know of: the easiest way a “democracy” can be subverted, weakened, and eventually brought crashing down with the barest minimum of bloody conflict is to blind itself into torpor and inaction as the erstwhile Loyal Opposition is busily transitioning into full-blown Enemies, Domestic™.

That is still true when the ones pushing the interrogations, investigations, entrapments into committing felonies, show trials in unusual venues with no cross-examination or due process, early morning home raids, excessive detainment, and asymmetrical punishments are Democrats.

Sorry, no. The very moment when those “political opponents” first begin “pushing the interrogations, &c” is when said Democracy MUST act vigorously in defense of its own continued existence, else it will surely be destroyed.

Rigid adherence to principles and ideals such as “Democracies don’t lock up political opponents” when you are under assault by revolutionaries who are cunning enough to weaponize those very principles for use in overwhelming and toppling your noble democracy is hapless idiocy of the purest ray serene.

The Demonrats have openly proclaimed their intention to supplant the limited central government envisioned and created by our Founders under their Constitution and replace it with an intrusive federal monolith possessed of unlimited power, inhibited by no shame, compassion, or decency, answerable to no outside authority or ombudsman. Our Founders were completely direct and plainspoken about what must be the response of a free people to such clearly predatory depredations. Their prescribed remedy assuredly does NOT mention meticulously maintaining strictest observance of the full rights and privileges for turncoats who are no longer due the privileges and courtesies they long ago squatted and shat upon.

Cross the line from legitimate dissent into outright sedition, as a majority of the Democrat Party incontrovertibly has done for years? Man up, own it, take your lumps without cavil or complaint, then. Don’t act as if the concepts you’ve denounced and the country you’ve betrayed owe you anything more nor less than a fair trial, followed by a first-class hanging.

Joe Biden is busy blaming gas station owners for the soaring prices of filling up at the pump.

Why, those dirty birds!

It’s his latest scheme to deflect blame for the nasty price shocks he’s brought on us, with gas going for about $5 a gallon nationwide, and $6-something in tax-happy, save-the-planet California.

He’s also blamed Putin, Big Oil producers, oil refineries, Republicans, and anyone but himself when it’s obvious enough that the root of the problem is his crush-the-oil-industry policies that he launched on day one in the name of “going green.” Combine it with his monster rounds of federal money-printing, which has brought on authentic inflation, and it’s a double-whammy of inflation and constrained supply.

Oh, but rest assured, he says he’s the good guy here:

I promise you I’m doing everything possible — everything possible to bring the price of energy down, gas prices down. And I want to make sure we all work on this together.

So he babbled. That’s from the White House official transcript.

His “everything possible” is weasel words. What he means is everything possible for him politically to bring down prices, not everything possible that will result actual price-cutting at the pump.

That’s why he’s failed refused to reverse his horrible decisions on the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada,

which would have brought America all the energy it needed, or reverse his bad decisions on drilling on federal land and waters, which would have restored American energy independence and maybe even made the U.S. an exporter of energy again. Those would be moves he could just throw the word out he was doing and would have brought energy prices down at least somewhat, minus the cost of Fed-generated inflation, given the importance of the futures market to energy trading. Instead, he’s gone begging the Saudis and Venezuelans to pump more oil for him and released about half the Strategic Petroleum Reserves, using it as an open-market mechanism to blunt the effect his bad policies rather than for the emergencies it’s intended to address. None of this has brought down the price of oil.

Think I was engaging in a little over-the-top rhetoricization with that “treason” business, do ya? Where is all this “treason,” forsooth? Gird your loins, O ye doubting Thomasii.

Now we learn that a huge chunk of this oil has gone abroad — to Europe, which, like the grasshopper that never bothered to save for a rainy day, what with Putin on the march demanding to be paid in rubles for his oil and natural gas, has left the continent short. Putin’s doing great on the price of petroleum, having lots of markets to sell to if Europe won’t buy from him, and the Russian ruble has strengthened. Worse still, a lot of this SPR release has gone to Asia, particularly China, which isn’t using it to fuel gas stations.

According to Reuters, which broke the story, it’s some 5 million barrels in just the last month alone, arriving at China’s Pacific ports.

The American Energy Alliance points out that it’s actually worse than it looks. China isn’t even using the oil; it’s stockpiling it for its own strategic petroleum reserves, meaning the U.S. oil taken off the market is not helping to lower the price of crude even on a worldwide basis.

I’m not an unreasonable man. That being so, I am perfectly willing to stipulate that Fuck(ing) Jaux Biden might actually NOT be the sorriest sumvabitch who ever shat behind a pair of shoes. But with this revoltin’ development, it couldn’t be more obvious that that ain’t the way to bet.

Oh, for the halcyon days of yore, when we used to hang scuzznuggets who pulled shit like this by their necks until they were dead, dead, DEAD. If this ain’t treason, I hope to never, ever see whatever is.

The signs of impending election manipulation on a national scale are all around us, if you have eyes to see and ears to hear them.  It’s already manifesting itself in a minor way, and that’ll gear up to a hurricane by November.

I still have contacts in the Department of Justice, dating back to my days as a prison chaplain. Some of those with whom I had contact in those days, in more than one federal agency, have now reached relatively senior rank. I spoke with a few of them last week, and every one confirmed that there seems to be an air of blithe confidence in the upper reaches of federal government bureaucracy that the Biden administration will be able to continue with its programs, no matter what happens in November. It’s being blatantly referred to as “business as usual, before and after November”. Strange, that, when you read headlines like “Joe Biden and Democrats Stare Into the Abyss After Latest Poll Drops”. It doesn’t sound like the progressive left is staring into any abyss that worries them, does it? – particularly when you read the articles linked above.

Supporting links throughout, which as usual I didn’t transcribe. Bayou Pete has tons more, nearly all of it as disheartening as it is deeply, deeply disturbing. In sum:

Folks, we saw massive electoral manipulation in November 2020. Call it what you like, legal or illegal, valid or invalid, it’s my personal opinion that it amounted to nothing more or less than electoral fraud – a deliberate distortion of the overall popular vote by manipulating certain targeted areas and their voters. I think what we saw then is a pale shadow of what we’re going to see in November 2022. The powers that be are bound and determined that they’re not going to lose control of the House and/or Senate, no matter how unpopular their party may have become; and they have (or believe they have) the tools to make sure that happens, no matter what the will of the electorate may be. They’re going to use every one of those tools, and then some, to win. They are already using them, as the articles linked above demonstrate.

As individuals, we can’t affect what may happen on a national scale;  but we can affect what happens on a local scale. If you care about our constitutional republic, and the democratic expression of the will of the people, please get involved. Volunteer as a poll watcher, or a vote counter, or whatever posts may be available in your area. Support those who are trying to run the election honestly, and watch like a hawk those who are doing otherwise. Speak out. Make sure the election administrators in your area know they’re under scrutiny. Get their names, addresses and other information that may help in future when it comes to dealing with the consequences of any shenanigans.

We know the electoral manipulation tsunami is coming. Let’s start preparing now, so that in its aftermath we can deal with the damage and minimize its long-term effects. Also, no matter how optimistic the forecasts, don’t assume that any side or party has the November 2022 elections “in the bag”. Anything can (and may well) happen between now and then. I expect the dirty tricks to fly thick and fast before we get to the voting booth.

At this stage of the game, Praetorian Media’s continuing, nonchalant dismissal of “Trump’s baseless, unsupported charges” of election chicanery are enough to make any Real American want to puke…or, perhaps, do something a little more, shall we say, kinetically proactive in response.

You guys already know my feelings about all this, so I’ll spare you any further belaboring of that particular point for the nonce. As I’ve said before, it really makes one wonder just how long such shenanigans have been part and parcel of our national “elections,” do it not?

“Resist, or be swept away”

No way I can improve on that perfect title. Although I have to say, regretfully, the author’s idea of what constitutes effective “resistance” has precious little in common with my own.

There is a great deal of consternation in liberal precincts regarding the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. This is good. It is the right of every American to voice their grievances. Abortion is a contentious issue and worthy of debate. There are reasonable positions both sides may debate which will likely reverberate for years to come. Unfortunately, most of the noise from liberals isn’t discussion the issue deserves, but a whirring, whining cacophony reminiscent of a fit a child might throw if told he can’t do something he really…really…really wants to do.

Jill Filipovic joined the cacophony, writing in the Guardian, “[T]he US Supreme Court should officially be understood — a tool of minority rule over the majority, and as part of a far-right ideological and authoritarian takeover that must be snuffed out if we want American democracy to survive.” Consider Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer’s diatribe: “I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” On June 22, a deranged man considered snuffing out Justice Kavanaugh and is awaiting trial for attempted murder. A near universal outcry from liberals contends that abortion is a “constitutional right.” It is hard to see how the republic overcomes such radical mindsets and notions.

No, it isn’t. On the contrary, it is simplicity itself; to overcome such mindless radicalism, all purveyors of insensate balderdash must be purged, by means of hard-handed violence if that’s what it takes for the Republic to rid itself of it, to preserve the culture and way of life of its citizens. The hard thing isn’t “seeing” that harsh reality, it’s accepting it, and then acting accordingly.

Liberals have convinced themselves that Republican presidents who win the electoral vote while losing the popular vote are illegitimate. Ms. Filipovic notes in her article that five of the conservative judges sitting on the Supreme Court were “appointed by Presidents who lost the popular vote.” America is a constitutional republic. Presidential elections are decided by the Electoral College. This is the only legal method of electing the president. A presidential election decided any other way would be illegitimate.

What liberals are really saying is that conservatism is illegitimate. Liberals consider conservatism a bastard ideology, conceived illegitimately, existing to unravel democratic institutions so conservatives may invoke a fascist state. Conservatism must be “snuffed out” so democracy survives. Any strategy or tactic that avails liberals the slightest advantage or damages conservatives is endorsed. Ethics, morality, and the well-being of the American people are irrelevant. The ends justify the means. This is the pathetic ethos of liberalism today.

Subscription to this ethos isn’t enough; the body politic must be purged of conservatism. Schumer’s threat is real. Conservatives have “released the whirlwind and…will pay the price.” To be “snuffed out” and “pay the price” is language of trepidation and violence. Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has determined that parents displaying raucous behavior at school board meetings are enemies of the state while senators and citizens that threaten and intimidate Supreme Court justices are patriotic Americans participating in democracy. Looting, arson, and anarchy are to liberal protesters what nirvana is to Buddhist monks.

Liberals dominate the Executive and Legislative Branches of the federal government and many states. The federal bureaucracy is a cudgel used to benefit the liberal elite. Liberals dominate popular and news media. Corporations, increasingly leery of the bureaucratic cudgel, toe the line for liberals. Educators propagandize the country’s youth with twisted liberal dogma. Conservatives are swimming upstream against a powerful liberal current to maintain their political, cultural, and commercial identity.

The Constitution is an island rising above this powerful stream. Americans must embrace the Constitution and the laws that underlie it because liberals won’t be bothered by the rule of law. When liberal elites consider judicial decisions illegitimate and remedy the undesirable decision by packing the court with friendly judges, the rule of law is meaningless.

All indubitably correct so far—grim, bleak, factual reality, offered full-strength with nary a flinch nor backfill. But you know what’s coming next, don’t you? Wait for it…wait for it…WAAAIIIT FOR IT

Conservatives are the bulwark of the republic, the last line of defense against a treacherous liberal ideology that seeks to dominate the body politic while destroying anyone that resists. The American people must elect politicians that will compete with this dangerous ideology, returning government to the people before the nation is swept away in a current of chaotic liberalism.

Sorry, bub, but if you think electing politicians to “compete” can ever be sufficient to discourage, dissuade, and/or defeat remorseless, implacable, Hell-spawned Leftist fiends, you got some more thinking to do. Any fool knows that in wartime, one’s chosen weapon must have power adequate to dispense with the foeman one confronts. No stampeding rhino was ever brought down with a flyswatter and a spray-bottle of sugar water, after all. Any thinking person would scrupulously guard himself against the slightest implication that he might actually take such twaddle at all seriously, lest his reputation be forever ruined.

Either you believe these scoundrels and their ideology to be “dangerous” (HINT: they most assuredly are, in every imaginable sense of the word), or you do not. Having used the very word yourself, you undermine not only your own argument specifically but your overall credibility as well when you tout weak-tea, ineffectual countermeasures as a response in the same damned sentence.

Independence Day has been a far more somber holiday for me and many others for many years, more akin to sitting around drinking after the funeral of a friend who used to be hearty and hale but in his later years became weak and frightened. We try to remember him as he once was in his health, not how he was in his dying days.

Gone are the recollections of the history of heritage Americans and the declaring of their independence from England. We don’t even call it Independence Day anymore, just “The Fourth Of July” as if the date is just randomly chosen to get a day off so we can grill burgers.

The thing about Independence Day and what it celebrates is that it is an entirely White male achievement. The famous painting of the presenting of the draft of the Declaration to the Congress by John Trumbull is noteworthy for what it doesn’t include: there are no women, no “people of color”, no transvestites or Jews or Muslims. Just a bunch of White men.

As America slides rapidly into minority-majority status, Independence Day will mean less and less to each successive generation of increasingly non-White citizens. Why shouldn’t it? The story of America isn’t their story, they contributed basically nothing to our founding and the development of America as the greatest country on Earth. Independence Day has no real historical significance for blacks or Chinese, mestizos or Jews. Hell there was only a single Catholic signer of the Declaration, most were Episcopalian/Anglican, Congregationalist or Presbyterian. It is interesting that the current Supreme Court has six Catholics, only two Protestants, and one Jew.

It only makes sense that a first generation Mexican immigrant or a Somali refugee would have no clue what Independence Day was really all about or have any sort of positive feelings about it. It isn’t their day and never will be. 

Just as the day is losing any meaning, the principles that inspired the Declaration of Independence mean less to each successive generation of America. Try asking a young person today what these words mean:

We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness….

Good luck. You might get a reasonable answer from a smart kid from a good school but Da’quan or Mohammad from some inner-city slaughterhouse of a high school? Forget about it.

It is nice to get a day off, and shoot off some fireworks, but this day has otherwise lost all meaning, all solemnity and all significance. It is just a relic of a nation that no longer exists, an annual funeral service where we drink toasts and offer amusing anecdotes about a dearly departed friend. 

Perhaps the remnants of the American people will one day have cause to celebrate anew their independence from Tyrants, Despots and Usurpers. Let us hope so in order that the light of liberty may never be lost from this world. 

I’ve said for years now that the Fourth of right ought to be less a day of celebration and indulgence, and more one of national mourning for what has been lost, stolen, and/or casually squandered. With this blunt reminder of our heritage and history, Arthur rubs Real American noses in one of the uglier aspects of life in whatever you want to call the tottering, faltering nation we inhabit: in “the land of the free,” there are many truths which are not to be spoken aloud, lest the wrath of our Masters be incurred thereby. The above would be one of those.

Regrettably, the cognitive dissonance doesn’t end there. Here in NC, dominated politically by shitlibs for my entire life, fireworks are illegal and can’t be found for love nor money…except for the week or ten days leading up to July Fourth, when you’re allowed to have ’em so’s you can celebrate your notional “freedom.” Only a liberal asswipe could possibly be blind enough that he’d fail to spot the gruesome irony in that one.

Here we are again, trying to make sense of the senseless. Trying to understand what would harden someone’s heart enough to take the lives of innocent human beings. It is impossible to comprehend.

Even though some scream for “common sense” solutions – without articulating what those solutions actually are, and how they would impact the civil rights of Americans – there are no easy answers. There simply is no common solution that would magically cure society’s ills.

Oh yes there is. No, it isn’t magic, of course. Nonetheless, it WOULD definitely cure what ails us; it WOULD be easy, or no more difficult than pulling a trigger, anyway; and, for the legions of us who are good and goddamned sick of the insufferable, smarmy shitbags, it would be a real pleasure as well.

Sadly, about the only thing that is predictable in these situations is the rush to judgment and condemnation. It seems these days that the only constant in these circumstances is the immediate rush to lash out and demonize fellow Americans.

Yeah, well, the fact is there’s a perfectly good reason for that. And it’s one that people like yourself who are terminally afflicted with Stage IV Rodney King Syndrome, a cognitive and emotional malady which presents primarily as a desperate need to cling to the absurd fallacy that we can “all just get along” with the Left—who, by the by, are NOT just playing around when they say (as they incessantly do, without equivocation; in fact, it’s the one and only thing they’ve ever been completely honest about) that they want us either enslaved, imprisoned, or embalmed—badly need to take note of.

Not that this boob will, natch. The message is simple: name-calling and referring to those who may not agree on a particular approach to an issue as “the enemy” is no way to lead.

Perhaps. To commemorate all the bodily fluids lost while assaulting parents trying to rescue their children from an active shooter, today the Uvalde Police Department announced its officers would now cover their uniforms, cars and front lawns with new Thin Yellow Line flags.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott held an emergency press conference to address the unspeakable loss of underpants at the Uvalde Police Department.

“The great State of Texas will never allow such a humiliating disaster to befall our brave men in blue and wet yellow ever again,” said Gov. Abbott, comforting an officer while dabbing a pee stain from his pants. “I’ve consulted with Senator Ted Cruz who has assured me that underpants with only one entrance are much more secure, so we will be forming a task force to look into this technology immediately. Shoot, I feel like I’m forgetting something,—oh, right, the school and the dead children. Uh, have my assistant send a gift basket with some of those nice thoughts and prayers you get at the Cracker Barrel.”

Lurking underneath this and several other news items coming out of Texas is the ugliest of ugly possibilities: that the influx of shitlib refugees from Califruitopia has finally tipped the political balance in the Lone Star Republic firmly Leftward.

Putting aside our natural and perfectly reasonable disgust for the contemptible, cowardly pussies of the U(terine)PD, there is actually an upside to this, and our friend Aesop knows what it is.



Big, big savings!

The headline probably has you thinking about the high cost of the EV – so high that whatever you “save” by not buying gas ends up costing you a great deal. But that is only one of the ways EVs don’t save you money.

Another one is tires.

EV tires wear out faster because EVs are much heavier than other cars – because EVs are weighed down by 1,000-plus pounds of batteries. For example, a Tesla Model 3 – which is a compact-sized car about the same size as a Honda Civic – weighs close to 3,900 pounds (two tons) empty. The Civic weighs just shy of 2,900 pounds – a difference of…1,000 pounds.

That weight weighs down on the tires, which must absorb the load – which increases when the car goes around a curve or runs over a pothole. There is also the increased friction that comes from stopping that load, once set in motion. EV touters like to tout the fact – which is one – that EV brakes last longer because the EV uses regenerative braking to partially slow the car, rather than brake pads. Basically, the electric motors that propel the car are used to slow it – and convert inertia back to electricity, to help top off the batteries.

But the tires are still scrubbing against the asphalt.

But – wait! – if I buy an electric car, I will save money on oil and filter changes! Certainly. In the manner of “saving” on utility bills via the purchase of a $500,000 house with triple-pane Andersen casement windows in place of a $250,000 house with double-pane standard-type windows.

Then there is the biggest maintenance cost of all – the battery pack. Which will cost you more, because it’s so huge – in order to move the EV at highway speeds for any significant distance. This, in turn, results in it being so heavy – which increases the amount of power needed to move it plus the car it’s installed in, reducing efficiency.

You do get the power – and the acceleration – but it costs you. Especially if you use either as doing so discharges the battery, rapidly – which means needing to recharge it more regularly. The “faster” you do that, the greater the load/stress imposed upon the battery, costing you battery life. And when the time comes to replace the battery, that’ll cost you more than it costs to replace a non-electric car’s transmission or engine – and maybe both, together.

Plus the oil and filter changes.

Buy an EV if it floats your boat. But don’t kid yourself that doing so is “saving” anything – including the Earth.

If it floats your boat, you say? Better watch that loose talk there, buddy; that’s exactly the kind of subtle advocacy for individual self-determination that will surely get you Gulagged in the land of the “free” and the home of the “brave” nowadays.

Over Half The Country At Risk Of ‘Energy Emergencies’ This Summer, Electric Grid Analysis Shows
Millions of Americans across the Midwest, Southwest and West are expected to face blackouts throughout the summer months, an industry analysis concluded.

A variety of factors, including drought conditions and low wind conditions, are expected to put Americans in roughly 28 states at risk of experiencing blackouts this summer, according to a report from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), a U.S. regulatory authority, published Wednesday. The region managed by the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) across 15 Midwest states is at the highest risk of “energy emergencies” during the summer due to capacity shortfalls, the analysis showed.

“The Western Interconnection, Texas, Southwest Power Pool (SPP) … are at ‘elevated risk’ of energy emergencies during extreme conditions,” NERC added. “[MISO] is in the ‘high risk’ category, facing capacity shortfalls in its north and central areas during both normal and extreme conditions due to generator retirements and increased demand.”

Words mean things

Has there ever been more productive ground for Leftist linguistic manipulation than the abortion issue?

It’s always a red flag when accurate vocabulary becomes verboten. “Pro-Choice” is just one of many Orwellian phrases adopted by TPA (Team Pro-Abortion—M). There’s also “products of conception” for the physical remains of the dead fetus. National Public Radio, Wikipedia, and the New York Times say “abortion care” rather than “abortion,” trying to transform an ugly word into a pretty one by appending the suffix “care.” Kind of like “siphoning-the-brain-out-of-the skull care” or “dismemberment care.”

On NPR, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries ranted about wicked Republicans denying women “health care.” I don’t think Jeffries ever used the word “abortion.” Abortion: you must love it, but can’t see it, and you can’t say it. TPA even gets worked up about the word “abortionist,” insisting that “abortion provider” be used. The word “abortionist” is comparable to the phrase “final solution,” one doctor writes, apparently unaware of how revealing his comment is.

A human fetus is “a clump of cells.” And that is not the worst thing they call a human fetus. The Facebook page “Occupy Democrats” posted a meme that encourages viewers to conflate a human fetus with an animal fetus, as per the falsehoods circulated by influential Darwinist and eugenicist Ernst Haeckel. Under this meme, a poster remarked that a human fetus is comparable to his “boogers,” that is, snot. Another post remarked, “Birthing babies is the emotional distraction to creating a Fascist country.” A Facebook friend holds a PhD in the hard sciences. On his page, one of his leftist friends compared a human fetus to “cancer.” I did not see my scientist friend object. Rather, he said, “Instead of referring to the embryo as a ‘clump of cells,’ given the demographics, it might be more accurate to say ‘future cartel enforcer,’ or ‘future STD-infected crack ho.'” He said this because low income black and Hispanic women are much more likely to get abortions.

In any case, if TPA’s chosen God – perhaps Oprah or Obama – came down from Heaven and announced to them in unambiguous language that a fetus is a human life, they would still be Pro-Abortion. They celebrate selfish power of the strong over the weak as the highest virtue, and vulnerability and dependence as crimes justifying capital punishment. A popular Facebook page makes just this argument. “It doesn’t matter whether a fetus is a human being or not…it doesn’t matter if we are talking about a fertilized egg, a baby, or a five year old.” We are stronger so we have the right to kill.

Another Facebook friend, someone who spends hours devoted to animal rescue, said that she believes in abortion up to and including infanticide of a born child. Killing is morally acceptable, she argued, if a child – a dependent human being – is unwanted by anyone who will meet the child’s needs.

Atheist and Princeton University ethicist Peter Singer concurs. Infants, “because they are not ‘persons,’ have no interest in staying alive, and it is only superstition that makes us think that killing them is intrinsically wrong…Infants with known disabilities … do not bring the same amount of happiness into the lives of their parents … the very fact that someone is disabled means that he or she will have an unhappier life … Singer argues that it should be legal for parents to decide to have their disabled infants killed up to 28 days after birth.”

The left, I was sure, was all about being kind. About championing the oppressed. About condemning selfishness, greed, exploitation. We were on the side of prisoners on death row, of striking workers, of the handicapped who needed government services. We were anti-fur and pro-vegan.

Why were we betraying the most vulnerable humans of all? Why were we championing a morality that privileged the selfish convenience of the powerful ignoring the very lives of the powerless?

My comrades’ dedication to the oppressed was nothing more than a theatrical production in service to a narrative. It was all sets, costumes, scripts. Yes, yes, the left will tell you that they champion the powerless. When they tell you that, they are exiting objective reality and entering the gauzy realm of fairytale storytelling. The left simply takes the costume, “The Victim,” and the other costume, “The Oppressor,” and assigns those costumes to serve political ends.

Thus, the woman choosing to abort the life inside her is draped in “The Victim” costume. She chose to have consensual sex, knowing full well that intercourse creates life. Who victimized her? Amerikkka, of course; who else? You had to ask??? An astounding meme now circulates. It insists that America forces women to get pregnant and have children. This meme from “Susan of Texas” has been shared thousands of times.

With the deft touch of a pickpocket, the left has transposed The Victim role from the life form that ends up dismembered in a petri dish – the fetus – to the woman choosing to terminate that life. The antagonist is not the fetus; the fetus is erased through euphemism. It’s a “clump of cells.” Rather, the antagonist is “misogyny,” “patriarchy,” or “The Catholic Church.” In objective reality, none of these made the choice for sexual intercourse that the woman made; in the leftist theatrical production they are all the mustache-twirling villains who control the poor, poor woman’s agency. They got her pregnant, not her own choices.

Follows, a detailed, step-by-step description of the abortion process that is so gruesome, so macabre, the horror of it would have to leave any decent, compassionate human being physically ill. A former Planned Parenthood director, Annette Lancaster, speaks of her experience of it in the bleakest terms:

She’d seen and dealt with sick and injured people, and witnessed surgeries. But nothing prepared her…’to actually see…the workers piecing the baby back together in a petri dish…I’ve seen many women break down and cry.'”

This is done to make sure no pieces of the slaughtered infant are left behind inside the woman to rot and cause a potentially life-threatening infection.

Lancaster said in an interview that she and her co-workers could not bring themselves to talk to outsiders about their grim tasks. Rather, they gathered with other abortionists and abused drugs and alcohol to cope “with the things that we did and the things that we saw.” After an “abortion day…we would say that we were having a staff meeting…we would get pretty intoxicated.” Even her children noted a change in Lancaster. She would refer to the women who came for abortions as “cows” and “cattle.” “We called the trashcan where we would put the aborted babies the ‘nursery.'” She underwent a “hardening of the heart”

Well my God in Heaven, I should think so, yeah. Unless one is a soulless, sadistic psychopath, how could it possibly be otherwise?

This lengthy, impassioned screed makes for some damned unpleasant reading. Nonetheless, it is an essential piece, maybe as important a one as I can remember seeing right offhand, and it covers a lot of ground. Of course and as usual, the very people who need to read it most…won’t.

Monstrous trains

An aspect of the supply chain collapse most of us haven’t given a lot of thought to, if any.

Imagine a train 16,400 feet in length weighing 17,500 tons: That is three miles, 560 feet and 35 million pounds. One train. And it is hauling hazmat, tanks of say, chlorine gas, or anhydrous ammonia. Just one tank car alone weighs 131 tons, that is 262,000 pounds. To give an example from history, 262,000 pounds of chlorine gas is approximately two-thirds of what the German army used during the trench warfare of all of WWI. One tank car alone.

“And then we pick up more enroute! My conductor is three miles away while I reverse this train into an active rail yard! Crossings don’t matter, and communities? Are you kidding? No sane country would move materials like this. These trains exceed the coupler and drawbar limits of the very cars themselves. The risks the Class I carriers are taking is a race to disaster. It is absolutely dreadful and grotesque.

Another Precision Scheduled Railroading factor in supply chain failure: Even when the majority of these PSR trains make it, without dramatic ends, they rarely get across the road during a crew members hours of service (HOS) time limit, which is 12 hours. Several factors:

“The rail infrastructure, in particular rail yards and sidings, were designed and built during the great Industrial Age. They did a lot of things right: they overbuilt bridges, for one. But it is not a failure of imagination that they could not foresee, from a sane perspective, that someday the bosses would want to normalize 15,000-foot trains.

“Yards and sidings do not accommodate this scale. It is a clash of function and design. So, imagine this: A 15,800-foot train with distributed power locomotives placed in the middle and at the rear of a train, comes to work a station with 4,500-foot tracks and needs to pick up and set out cars in the middle and rear of the train. This will not be lickety-split.

All I can say is, my hat’s off to anyone who takes on a job like that. The stress must be beyond most people’s imagination. Also, if something goes badly wrong and the train is involved in a major derailment or collision, the crew’s safety is probably anything but guaranteed. The inertia built up by such weights, at such speeds, makes it impossible to slow down or stop in any meaningfully short distance. The crew are going to have to jump for their lives (at speeds almost guaranteed to cause serious injury or death) or ride it all the way to impact, in the desperate hope they won’t be smeared all over the wreckage like strawberry jam. That’s not much of a choice.

When I think of the long, long trains of tank cars and chemical cars that I see rumbling through our little town every single day, and realize that even one of those cars carries enough potentially lethal cargo to kill every person within city limits in a matter of minutes…it puts a whole new perspective on rail safety.

Don’t it, though. Don’t it just. Over the years I’ve known a cpl-three guys who worked as train engineers, brakemen, even one out in Arizona who was a conductor, if I remember right, for Amtrak. My cousin Steve, who has had a huge fascination with trains his whole life and is locally famous for his incredible collection of HO-scale model railroad builds, used to say to me: “I really wanted to work for the railroad, until I found out the job would involve having to go out and decouple those big steel boxcars during a lightning storm. That’s when I lost all interest in it.” As it happens, that’s also when I realized how happy I was that I’d never had any interest in it to start with.

The Great Unmentionable

Andrea wonders why nobody seems to be asking a certain simple question.

Fewer than ten years ago, even Planned Parenthood acknowledged that abortion is a “difficult decision.” On its website in 2022, it no longer does.

On the pro-abortion side, many women offer variations of the same two arguments: (1) I had things other than motherhood that I wanted to do with my life, and (2) it was the best thing I could do for the baby because it wouldn’t have had a good life with me. Regarding the second argument, I’d love to see a person charged with the murder of an adult successfully make that same argument: “Yeah, I had to kill my wife because I couldn’t support her in the way I wanted for her. Killing her was the best choice for me and for her.”

For those who say it was a hard choice, the logical question is “Why? Why was it a hard choice?” If the pro-abortion side is correct — that the fetus is not a baby, is an insensate bundle of cells, is inseparable from the woman’s body so it’s like having an appendix removed, or is lacking the intellectual or emotional capacity to have an existential desire for life — abortion should be no harder than eating chicken for dinner. (I have no idea how vegetarian and vegan women justify abortion.)

Pro-life people seldom ask women the “why” question because they already know the answer: a fetus is an independent life within the woman, who is both life-giver and incubator. This is not a conspiracy by the White patriarchy; it’s a biological fact of life. But still, what pro-lifers must do moving forward is to ask the question every time. Only in that way can they force women to acknowledge what they’re saying when they proudly recount that they had an abortion even while acknowledging the tough decision they made: they sacrificed a human life for their own benefit.

Funny, innit, that Lefty women would find that idea troubling, given the Left’s perennial emphasis on selfishness and “living your best life” and all that rot. Funnier still is how often Leftards manage to undercut their own arguments this way; as I’ve been saying for years, your typical, standard-issue shitlib will contradict himself eighteen times before lunch every day. Reminds me of another abortion-issue oxymoron:

The debate concerning “fetal homicide” hinges on the issue of fetuses killed by violent acts against pregnant women. Pro-life advocates typically support legislation that defines the fetus as a person under fetal homicide laws, or otherwise confers rights or protections upon the fetus or unborn child. Common references to such laws include the Fetal Protection Act, the Preborn Victims of Violence Act and the Unborn Victim of Violence Act. Those supporting these laws say that both the lives of the pregnant woman and the fetus should be explicitly protected. They assert that fetal homicide laws justly criminalize these cases and address both unborn children and their mothers.

Currently, at least 38 states have fetal homicide laws.

This obvious contradiction can’t go on forever. Is it a developing human life, or is it a gaggle of cells with no more moral or emotional heft than a random wad of pocket lint? Sooner or later, society will be forced to settle on whether it’s going to be the one, or the other.
