Digging a hole, digging a hole, digging a hole

Too, too funny.

After Being Completely Exposed by Its Own Editor, NPR Responds in the Worst Possible Fashion
On Tuesday, a 25-year veteran of NPR who still serves as an editor at the outlet thoroughly exposed the left-wing network’s bias and its attempt to quash stories inconvenient to the Democratic Party. In a self-written article, Uri Berliner laid out multiple examples of how NPR has heavily skewed its news coverage while allowing essentially no viewpoint diversity in the newsroom.

Some examples Berliner gave included the “news” organization’s coverage of the COVID-19 origins, the Russian collusion hoax involving Donald Trump, and the Hunter Biden laptop story.

No worries, though. I’m happy to inform you that NPR has told NPR that NPR is doing just fine. That includes a doubling down on the DEI regiment that has led the network to reduced viewership and a cratering of its credibility.

NPR’s chief news executive, Edith Chapin, wrote in a memo to staff Tuesday afternoon that she and the news leadership team strongly reject Berliner’s assessment.

“We’re proud to stand behind the exceptional work that our desks and shows do to cover a wide range of challenging stories,” she wrote. “We believe that inclusion — among our staff, with our sourcing, and in our overall coverage — is critical to telling the nuanced stories of this country and our world.”

Without realizing it, Chapin has just admitted the primary problem with forcing “inclusion” by way of racially-based diversity quotas. Doing so does not lead to an increased range of viewpoints. Instead, because DEI is exclusively a left-wing pursuit, it leads to an overabundance of the same viewpoints in the newsroom. Far from being “critical to telling the nuanced stories of this country and our world,” it has led to NPR having no nuance in its reporting, instead parroting whatever its far-left staffers agree on.

The NPR article responding to Berliner goes on to miss the point yet again by bragging about how four out of 10 staffers are “people of color.”

In recent years, NPR has greatly enhanced the percentage of people of color in its workforce and its executive ranks. Four out of 10 staffers are people of color; nearly half of NPR’s leadership team identifies as Black, Asian or Latino.

It’s like talking to a wall. They just can’t grasp how stocking the newsroom with DEI hires instead of hires based on actual viewpoint diversity could possibly lead to the outcome Berliner exposed in his piece.

It’s LIKE talking to a wall because it IS talking to a wall; shitlibs never listen, they only ever double down, again and again and again, no matter what. It’s all they know to do, almost as if “smug,” “stubborn,” and “irrational” were hard-coded in their DNA or something. Because hey, they’re smarterer than you stupid troglodytes, see. If you don’t believe it, just ask ’em, they’ll tell ya…at excruciating length, they will.

Damn fools about it

As Wellington said after Waterloo: “They came on in the same old way, and we sent them back in the same old way.” Or, as WC Fields said: “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again. Then quit. There’s no use in being a damn fool about it.”

S’truth. And yet.

Woke Extremist Minneapolis City Council Demands $30.60/Hour Minimum Wage for Uber and Lyft Drivers; Uber and Lyft Both Announce They Will Abandon Minneapolis
Faced with public anger about driving out the popular ride-share services, the woke extremists of the city council say they may delay when the order goes into effect.

But they’re only doing that to allow other ride-share companies — are there any? — to enter the Minneapolis market.

By the way, I base the headline claim of a $30.60 per hour minimum wage on the city council’s demand that drivers be paid a minimum 51 cents per minute when ferrying passengers.

California recently imposed a $20/hour minimum wage for fast food workers. There’s now a $16/hour minimum wage for all other jobs.

Companies immediately began firing workers and closing down stores.

A pizza chain announced the closure of five stores in California.

Analysts forecast that this law will gift California with increased unemployment for years.

That’s putting it in the best possible light.

And there you have it. As Billy Pilgrim said: “All this happened, more or less.” And so it goes.

Crime control ain’t no joke

She appears to be serious, as incredible as it seems.

Black Mayors’ Coalition on Crime wraps up first set of meetings
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – All eyes are on Memphis as leaders from states across the country meet in the Bluff City for the first-ever Black Mayors’ Coalition on Crime.

That coalition, created by Memphis Mayor Paul Young in partnership with the African American Mayors Association, is looking for discussion and solutions around public safety.

“We are solidified and resolved in the fact that we are stronger together. The national crime data may show some decreases in overall crime stats, but what we discussed today is that if people don’t feel safe, then the statistics don’t matter,” said Mayor Young.

Whether you’re walking the streets of Memphis and Shelby County, pumping gas, or just sitting in your home, you deserve to feel safe wherever you go.

St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones says she’s taking back strategies used in Atlanta for nightclub owners and eyeing ways to reduce crimes around convenience stores.

“We have a lot of violence around convenience stores and gas stations,” said St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones. “So how can we hold those business owners accountable and also bring down crime? Some of the things are already doing, we’re finding other mayors are doing as well.”

Bold mine, and completely batshit insane. “Hold business owners accountable”…for WHAT, exactly? “Accountable” for being victimized by ghetto ferals with their pants down around their ankles

  • Robbing them and/or their customers
  • Vandalizing their premises
  • Terrorizing every white woman within leering distance—regardless of age, physical attractiveness, or attitude—via sexually-explicit taunts, bodily gyrations, direct threats, and overtly aggressive behavior
  • Loitering outside the store in large groups chugging quarts of OE, huffing cheeba, tossing the wrappers of their shoplifted food, spent roaches, and/or empty malt-liquor bottles on the parking lot
  • Generally menacing said customers to the point they’re actually afraid to so much as pull into the lot, sensibly opting instead to just drive on by to another store possessed of a bit less “urban” ambience and inner-city “charm”

Years ago, there was a convenience store just like this near my house. My wife would happily drive miles out of her way to avoid passing the place late at night, and I couldn’t blame her either. I wasn’t any too comfortable driving by the horrible place late my own self, honestly; the coppery funk of predation, chaos, and imminent danger fairly wafted off the place in great waves. Bayou Peter puts it to ‘em straight, no chaser.

If you’re going to go after business owners for crimes committed by others, pretty soon you won’t have any business owners within your city limits. Then your citizens won’t be able to buy food, get their vehicles serviced, or do anything else that requires a business to provide the service. Then where will your precious city be???

I repeatedly think that we’ve plumbed the absolute depths of human stupidity…only to be proved wrong again and again by doofi such as Mayor Jones.

Nah, not quite yet we haven’t. That doesn’t truly kick in until the selfsame pig-ign’ant NICs (Niggers In Charge) start in bitching, pissing, and moaning about “food deserts” and such-like affronts. “Food deserts” which, mind, they created themselves, the inevitable by-product of their own rank stupidity.

Well, that, and RAYCISSISMS ’n’ sheeit, natch.

One last incredible no-joke factoid from the above-cited article: The Mayor of Jackson, Mississippi, appears to be named (checks notes, checks again, shakes head in awe-struck disbelief) Chokwe Antar Lumumba. No, seriously, I swear I am NOT making this up.

Animals

Sadly, all too many of us seem terribly confused of late as to who the enemy really is. PRO TIP: it is NOT Israel and/or ((((Dem pesky JOOOOOOZ!!!))).

“A Palestinian writer”
The above tweet from Amnesty International is still up. In case it disappears, here is the text:

Amnesty International
@amnesty
The death in custody of Walid Daqqa, a 62-year-old Palestinian writer who was the longest-serving Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jails after 38 years of imprisonment, is a cruel reminder of Israel’s disregard for Palestinians’ right to life

The tweet calls Walid Daqqa “a Palestinian writer”, as if he had been imprisoned for his writings – as if he were the sort of prisoner of conscience on whose behalf I used to write letters on that special blue Air Mail paper, back when I was a member of Amnesty International.

To be fair, although you would never guess it from their tweet, the linked article by Amnesty does make perfunctory mention of the non-literary crime that caused Walid Daqqa to be put in prison:

On 25 March 1986, Israeli forces arrested Walid Daqqah, then 24, a Palestinian citizen of Israel. In March 1987, an Israeli military court sentenced him to life imprisonment after convicting him of commanding the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)-affiliated group that had abducted and killed Israeli soldier Moshe Tamam in 1984.

Perhaps concerned about her wordcount, Amnesty’s writer, Erika Guevara-Rosas, did not say much about Moshe Tamam. She cited Walid Daqqa’s youthful age at the time, 24, but did not see fit to say that his victim Moshe Tamam was just 19. And she skips over some relevant details in that brief word “killed”. Daqqa and his PFLP comrades did not just kill Moshe Tamam, they tortured him to death. They gouged out his eyes and castrated him. Then they murdered him.

Sick fucks. But, if we can tear ourselves away from weeping, wailing, and gnashing our teeth for the “over 30,000 innocent civilians” Hamas speciously claims have been killed by the IDF in Gaza—FOR NO REASON, THE INHUMAN BRUTES!—for just a moment, it’s plain that the loathsome Walid Daqqah is hardly an outlier, a grotesque exception, but perfectly typical of his vile cohort.

Hamas Treats Captive Israeli Women as Animals — for ‘All Are Ridden’
The Hamas terrorists behind the Oct. 7, 2023, jihadist raid literally view their female Israeli captives as horses and other animals — to be “ridden.”

During a recent press conference, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari stressed that Hamas members could be heard in their own (now captured) recordings referring to their female captives as sabi (or sabiya), an Arabic word that in Islamic jurisprudence refers to non-Muslim female slaves, whom Muslim men could freely copulate with — in a word, concubines (see here for more on sabis).

Sex slavery is not only an ironclad aspect of Islam; it is a reflection of “piety,” as well captured by a 2015 report:

In the moments before he raped the 12-year-old [non-Muslim] girl, the Islamic State fighter took the time to explain that what he was about to do was not a sin. Because the preteen girl practiced a religion other than Islam, the Quran not only gave him the right to rape her — it condoned and encouraged it, he insisted.

“He said that by raping me,” recalled the 12-year-old, “he is drawing closer to God.”

“Every time that he came to rape me, he would pray,” explained another girl, aged 15. “He said that raping me is his prayer to God. I said to him, ‘What you’re doing to me is wrong, and it will not bring you closer to God.’ And he said, ‘No, it’s allowed. It’s halal.’”

Seeing rape as a pious gesture is only one of the “oddities” of Islamic sex slavery. In the same press conference, Hagari said that “Hamas treated young women…like animals” and that one terrorist could be heard describing “a woman as a noble mare.”

No doubt, to most (non-Muslim) readers, references to Israelis as animals are a mere reflection of Hamas’s contempt for its “infidel” victims, nothing more.

Mind you, this mind-bending abuse is NOT to be inflicted on Israeli women exclusively, nor even on Jewish females more generally. No, this bestial savagery is Koran-endorsed treatment for ALL “infidel” women, all over the world, as non-Islamic nations inevitably are brought under the sway of Mooselimb rule.

As the article describes, for Moslem males raping “infidel” women of any age is not only permissible, it is actually commendable, taking on the aspect of an act of religious devotion—a divine gesture of pious, reverential obeisance to their fucked-up Murder God.

I repeat: SICK. FUCKS.

Anyone who sincerely believes that ((((Dem JOOJOOJOOJOOOOZ!!)))) are the primary problem confronting Western Civ is refusing to see the forest for the trees, sorry. Hell, most American Jews are more or less atheists anyway—call ‘em JINOs, perhaps, Jewish by ethnic inheritance rather than avowed faith—not being religiously observant, nor even somewhat interested.

No, the primary problem is that, by a huge majority, the religion practiced by American Jewry is liberal/Leftism. Don’t ask me why that is; given, y’know, pretty much all of recorded history, I find it quite perplexing myself.

Be that as it may, though, the essential fact remains: even if you exterminated and/or expelled every last Jew in the US tomorrow—the secular, the way more conservative Orthodox, the ultra-hardass Lubavitchers* alike—you’d be astonished and dismayed the day after that by how very little change would’ve resulted from your longed-for Final Solution. Alas, appalling numbers of shitlibs/Progressivists/Leftards/whatever would remain, along with all the strife, trouble, and woe they cause.

In a nutshell, then, what the Hebe-hatin’ Right are fond of deploring as “the Jewish problem” is not, in fact, much of a problem at all. It’s merely a distraction, a sideshow which draws attention away from the Main Enemy: collectivism, Statism, Leftism, whatever label you wish to slap on it. And, of course, the jihadist plague the Leftards have imported and encouraged, which now flourishes in our very midst.

It beggars belief that the memory of 9/11/01 could have been as thoroughly expunged from American minds as this nonsensical folly suggests. The disgraceful embrace of the plethora of preposterous, repeatedly debunked conspiracy theories on the subject must have been more widespread than sensible sorts feared.

Islam is no more compatible with ordered liberty, individual self-determination, and the rest of our Founding principles than liberal/Leftism is; they are diametrically (triametrically?) opposed, eternally in conflict, irreconcilable and antipodean in both practical and philosophical terms. Lose sight of that fundamental home truth, and you will surely lose everything ere the end.

* As it happens, I lived amongst the Lubavitchers my last cpl-three years in NYC; in fact, the apartment we lived in was over a shul, owned by a young Lubavitcher congregant named Mike to whom the building had been passed down as sort of an early, pre-death inheritance from his father. What a trip the Lubavitchers were, with the big hats; the long, heavy black overcoats worn year-round, even in the stifling August heat; the payess, which are those funny-looking spiral locks hanging down like overgrown sideburns or something; the rocking, swaying, and bobbing as they read from the Tanya, prayed, and sang their, uhhh, hymns (?) out on the sidewalk after synagogue let out. Strange stuff indeed for a Carolina boy who had only ever known one (1) Jew his entire life before traipsing off to NYC, definitely. Really nice folks once you got to know ‘em, though

SHOCKER: Big-talking tough guy not so tough after all

Mouthy illegal alien whines like the little punk-ass bitch he is, in what has to be the feel-good interview of the year.

Migrant influencer’ who encouraged squatting whines to NY Post that he’s a victim of ‘persecution’ in jailhouse interview
Cry me a Rio Grande river.

The jailed Venezuelan “migrant influencer” who viciously mocked America to his 500,000 TikTok followers and urged border crossers to “invade abandoned houses” now misses the glorious liberties he enjoyed in the US – whining to The Post this week that “I miss my freedom!”

Leonel Moreno moaned that he is a victim of unjust “persecution” Wednesday during a 30-minute-long video televisit from inside Geauga County Jail in Chardon, Ohio.

“I came here to the United States because of persecution in my country … But they’re doing the same thing to me in the United States – persecuting me,” Moreno, 27, wailed.

“It’s all misinformation in the media about me. They’re defaming me. They’re misrepresenting me in the news … I am a good father, a good husband, a good son, a good person, humble, respectful to people who respect me,” continued Moreno, who spoke only Spanish and hid his face from the video camera’s view for the duration of the interview.

“I miss my entire life – I miss my freedom!” he cried.

With Moreno out of the frame, the camera showed inmates in blue-striped jumpsuits sitting at five silver metal tables through a glass window. At one point during the video visit, five scowling inmates looked in his direction, with some indecipherably shouting at him.

“What is happening?” Moreno could be heard muttering to himself.

“I am afraid they’re going to kill me. They’re coming for my life – anyone!” he said.

Moreno said he’s been in touch with his wife, Veronica Torres, since he’s been locked up, and insisted The Post contact her so she could “charge” an undisclosed sum for a “good interview” with him. The Post does not pay for interviews.

Immigrant and Customs Enforcement fugitive operations officers cuffed Moreno in Columbus, Ohio on March 29 – nearly two years after he and Torres illegally crossed the southern border into Eagle Pass, Texas on April 23, 2022.

He was allowed to stay in the country on a Biden administration-approved parole scheme — but then failed to appear for required check-ins with immigration officers, according to ICE.

But Moreno insisted he was thrown in the clink because of his inflammatory social media videos – and ironically vowed to use the First Amendment to fight any charges.

“If Leonel Moreno commits a crime or something then they would be right, but it’s because of my work, so this is unfair…Social media is my job.

“If I want to say something now, I can’t say it…We’ve become an oppressive country instead of a free country where we can express whatever is in our hearts…The United States was created to be that, not to oppress,” he said.

Get that word “we” out of your mouth, wetback. This is NOT your country, you do NOT belong here, and the 1st Amendment does NOT apply to you.

Deport his ass immediately. Then, if/when he slithers back over the border again, he should be shot dead while “resisting arrest.” That oughta settle his hash pretty nicely, I think.

If at first they don’t succeed…

If you thought there was any end to shitlib stupidity, that there simply had to be some point at which the perfidious chowderheads would smack their foreheads and mutter to themselves, “DAYUMM, this isn’t working! Could it be that we’re at fault here—that, instead of doubling down again and again on each successive failure, it might be time for us to rethink our basic premises?” PRO TIP: There isn’t, and they won’t.

San Francisco Bill Would Let People Sue Grocery Stores for Closing Too Quickly
A proposed ordinance would empower people to sue supermarkets that close without giving the city six months’ advance notice.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is considering a remarkable policy that would allow people to sue grocery stores that close too quickly.

Earlier this week, Supervisors Dean Preston and Aaron Peskin introduced an ordinance that, if passed, would require grocery stores to provide six months’ written notice to the city before closing down.

Supermarket operators would also have to make “good faith” efforts to ensure the continued availability of groceries at their shuttered location, either through finding a successor store, helping residents form a grocery co-op, or any other plan they might work out by meeting with city and neighborhood residents.

Lest one thinks this is some heavy-handed City Hall intervention, the ordinance makes clear that owners still retain the ultimate power to close their store. It also creates a number of exemptions to the six-month notice requirement. If a store is closing because of a natural disaster or business circumstances that aren’t “reasonably foreseeable,” it doesn’t have to provide the full six months’ notice.

Still, should stores close without providing the proper notice, persons affected by the closure would be entitled to sue the closed store for damages.

Preston has been floating this ordinance since January when a Safeway in the city’s Fillmore neighborhood announced it was closing before city officials intervened to keep it open a little longer. The policy itself is decades old.

In 1984, the board of supervisors passed an identical policy to what Preston and Peskin are proposing now, but it was vetoed by then-Mayor Dianne Feinstein. At the time, Feinstein described the policy as “an unnecessary intrusion of governmental regulatory authority.”

Ahhh, 1984—as in, the title of Orwell’s how-to manual for contemporary “liberals,” now superceded and kinda quaint. How perfectly apropos.

Preston is more comfortable with the intrusion.

Of course he is. Gee, color me shocked—SHOCKED!

“It was a good idea then, and it’s an even better idea now,” he told the San Francisco Chronicle in January.

Obviously so. I mean, any fool can see that it’s been working out so nicely for all concerned up to this point; it’s just that the original scheme didn’t go far enough, that’s all. I blame Trump, myself. Even way back when, the Orange Man was nothing but a garden-variety shitstirrer.

“We need notice, we need transparency, community input, and a transition plan when major neighborhood grocery stores plan to shut their doors.”

Know what you really need? To get government’s meddlesome mitts out of affairs not properly its own, and let private citizens engage in commerce with honest vendors as, when, and how they prefer, in accordance with A) their own free choice, and B) the laws of supply and demand.

Yeah, I know, in SF (symbolic capital of Amerika v2.0) that’s just crazy talk.

“Transparency, community input, and a transition plan.” Anybody besides me wondering just where the owner’s and/or shareholders’ needs might come into play here? Or, for the matter of it, be taken into consideration at all?

Whatever the impact of this proposed policy, it does provide a telling insight into just how much micromanagement San Francisco politicians think their city needs.

HATE SPEECH! HAAATE SPEEEEECH!! QUICK, SOMEONE ARREST THAT MAN AND LOCK HIM UP FOR TREASON, INSURRECTION, THREATENING OUR SACRED DEMOCRACY, SOMETHING!!!

A new low

This level of stupid really oughta be actually, physically painful. Or, y’know, as I proposed the other day, punishable by execution.

Not Satire: U.S. Senate Candidate Blames Climate Change for NJ Earthquake

Oh, it’s satire all right. Whether or not the BiQ (Bimbelina in Question) knows it, it’s satire all to hell and gone.

(America First Report)—There’s dumb. Then there’s Democrat-Dumb. But even higher on the list of total idiocy is Democrat-Climate-Cultist-Dumb and a U.S. Senate candidate from New Jersey just hit this pinnacle with the worst earthquake reaction of the week.

Christina Amira Khalil quickly deleted her offending Tweet but not before getting lambasted by the masses.

Because of COURSE she did; they always delete ‘em, every single time. The Bee’s response, happily, is still up.

Writers at the Bee really do have the toughest jobs in the world, don’tchathink? Back to Rucker for more hi-larity.

Technically, she’s running for the Green Party but the vast majority of her support will come from Democrats. But if any of those voters are on Twitter they might think twice before voting for this “moron.”

Gee, ya think? Why would they, prithee tell? After all, Amira-Kahlil-Achmed-Jibroni just proved herself to be One Of Them; she’s right up the D卐M☭CRATs’ ally. Running in deepest-blue Noo Joisey, the vacuous twat will probably win in a landslide. Honestly, I kinda hope she does—the entertainment value will be off the charts with this semi-sentient whackadoodle. Oh, just THINK of the fun we’ll have!

Fast food workers blindsided by sudden closure of Fosters Freeze in Lemoore
LEMOORE, Calif. (FOX26) — Employees at Fosters Freeze in Lemoore are out of a job.

Assistant General Manager Monica Navarro says she was called Monday morning by her boss who was at the restaurant to open, only to find the locks were being changed.

Please do note the insert that immediately follows the above for a strong hint as to why this entirely UNEXPECTED!© tragedy might have come to pass.

[RELATED] New $20 minimum wage for fast food workers in California set to start Monday

Bold in the original, entirely dispositive, and hilarious.

Navarro said she thought it was an April Fools joke.

“I was so caught off guard. We had no type of notice, no type of warning either. I mean the owner had told me happy easter,” she said.

And she wasn’t the only one.

“We had gotten a text in the group chat that we were shutting down, and I completely thought it was an April Fools joke,” said former employee Jason Boado.

After learning it was real, she drove to the restaurant on Hanford Armona Rd, where the owner was handing out final paychecks.

Navarro says the owner, Loren Wright, had previously told her the $20 minimum wage increase for fast food workers was going to be really hard on him.

Navarro says she started working three years ago and worked her way up to assistant GM.

She is a full-time student at Fresno State and was planning to work there until graduation.

She was excited about the wage increase and felt like she was stabbed in the back for not getting any kind of notice.

Bold mine this time, likewise dispositive, and hilarious. From that, one could be forgiven for jumping to the invidious conclusion that Fresno State students might not be all they should in terms of general intelligence and aptitude for deductive reasoning.

In a text from Loren Wright, he stated that he couldn’t survive the mandated wage increases:

I tried to the end to try to figure out a way to make it work. Last thing I ever wanted was to close down,” he said. “By Friday night I knew I was most likely not gonna be able to stay open but I didn’t want to ruin their Easter Sunday. Small businesses can’t survive a 120% plus min wage increase over the last 10 years. We are all more broke than we were 10 years ago its clear raising min wage isn’t helping….I am sad to see my employees off, and sad to see lemoore off. This location has been in business for 35+ years and lemoore has been such a good place. It’s painful to realize that raising min wage and regulating fast foods are putting people put if business but that is the path california leadership has taken. Thank u to my staff for everything and thank u lemoore for all the support over the years.”

“Now they’re getting laid off. They’re losing their jobs,” restaurant owner Angela Marsden told Fox News host Dana Perino. “Gavin Newsom, I hope the United States is watching. I hope he never becomes president. This man is destroying California. I don’t understand why people can’t see that he’s the biggest trickster of all time.”

As if it was only Gruesome Newsome we need to be worried about. Sadly, though, in Amerika v2.0 Newsome is just one little piece of a much bigger puzzle.

Who knew, indeed

Apropos one of the memes from Margolis’s Meme-manic Monday email, to which I am a subscriber, which I’ll append at the end of this post so’s none of y’all will miss out.

Going electric requires electricity. Who knew?
A lead article in the sober-sided New York Times is seldom funny. Yet ‘A New Surge in Power Use is Threatening US Climate Goals’ earlier this month cracked me up. Check out this sternly dramatic first paragraph: ‘Something unusual is happening in America. Demand for electricity, which has stayed largely flat for two decades, has begun to surge.’ Personally, I’d have headlined that article ‘Well, duh’ – perhaps with the subhead ‘Aw, shucks’.

Lo and behold, when you push people to electrify everything in their lives – cars, cookers, heating systems – while bribing them to go all-electric with lavish government subsidies, it turns out they use more electricity. Who would have thought? I guess this is why we need all those brainiac experts to analyse the ultra-complicated technical details of environmental policy.

One such expert worries in the Times: ‘The numbers we’re seeing are pretty crazy.’ America’s paper of record warns that in the past year the nation’s utilities have nearly doubled their estimates of how much more power they’ll need to provide in the next five years, during which an extra California’s worth of demand will be dumped on the US grid. So allow me to lead you through all the ‘well, duh’ bullet points of this hugely entertaining piece.

Electric vehicles need electricity. Surprise! Apparently simply stippling the landscape with new EV chargers, which Joe Biden’s farcically titled Inflation Reduction Act is meant to finance, isn’t quite enough. Gosh, darn it. Nobody pointed out that the chargers have to be connected to actual electricity. So far, it looks as if no one in government has worried about where it will all come from. Oh well. That’s understandable. These important people have so many other weighty matters on their minds.

Burning fossil fuels to not burn fossil fuels is a tad inconsistent. Utilities all over the US are busy building gas-fired power plants to meet rising demand for electricity, when the whole point of this exorbitant energy ‘decarbonisation’ is to stop burning the likes of gas. The Times calls it an ‘ironic twist’ that the demand for electricity from green technology is imperilling the whole point of green technology, but I call that instead ‘wholly foreseeable’. And I call this comical: one Kansas utility is keeping a coal-fired plant online that it had planned to retire – the better to power a giant EV battery factory.

Lots more to this one too, read all of it. Being a Spectator UK article it’s paywalled, although for some reason the link got me access to the entire article just this once. If it doesn’t work for you, try running the URL through either 12ft Ladderarchive.is, or the venerable Wayback Machine, that orta do the trick. If all else fails, simply disable javascript in your preferred web browser’s settings until you’ve finished reading; JS is how these paywall nuisances work in the first place.

Oh yeah, almost forgot the meme:

Of course, as CF Lifers already know, it IS “just pretend.” The stupid, self-defeating EV push isn’t really about Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly The Weather)™ or anything else but what it always and forever is; say it with me one time, people: Power, and Control. Personal vehicles are the front-line face of liberty and individual autonomy, and FederalGovCo hates that kind of thing to the very marrow of its bones.

Pot meets kettle, makes fool of self

Wow. Just…WOW.

Biden-Harris campaign describes Trump as ‘feeble, confused, and tired’
The Biden-Harris campaign issued a statement on Monday describing the incumbent president’s top 2024 rival, former President Donald Trump, as “weak and desperate” as well as “feeble, confused, and tired.”

“Donald Trump is weak and desperate — both as a man and a candidate for President,” the statement declared. “America deserves better than a feeble, confused, and tired Donald Trump.”

Does it really? For once, the RNC got its collective thumb out of its collective butt and fired back beautifully.

Heh. Good one, guys. Leave it to fugly Uniparty RINO Lizzie Cheney (D-Dipshit), though, to undercut the RNC’s atypically note-perfect retort with more of her usual bullshit.

“Well, when the party of Trump abandoned Lincoln, Reagan, and the Constitution, circumstances changed,” former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, an outspoken Trump critic, tweeted.

Don’t look now, Liz, but you resemble that remark, you stupid, treacherous bint.

Biden, who is the oldest president in U.S. history, would be 86 by the end of a second term in office. Trump, who is slightly younger than Biden, would be 82 by the conclusion of a second term if he wins election later this year.

Physician to the president Kevin O’Connor said in a memo earlier this year that Biden remains “fit for duty and fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations.”

Yeah, there they go again with the lying. To rejigger an old saw to suit the circumstances, there are lies, damned lies, and “Biden” White House press statements.

Via Bill, who quips:

This gang of has-beens and never-weres isn’t even lively enough to come up with something original, Instead, they just borrow everything Trump has been saying about Biden for years, and substitute Trump’s name.

I guess one shouldn’t expect anything better from a senile old man like Biden, whose go-to play since the beginning of his career has been plagiarism. After this many decades it’s become a reflex, nothing more. Which is why it’s probably the only strategy he can remember at this point.

YOWCH. If the old crook even knew who or where he was, I’d say that savage, 110% accurate rip had to smart a bit. Luckily for him, he doesn’t.

Senile Grampy Gropey puts his oar in

Jeez, this guy. This fookin’ guy.

Okay, we’ve all enjoyed pointing and laughing at the buffoonish antics, pratfalls, fictitious self-aggrandizement, and meandering tall tales emitted by this doddering old fool all along, sure. But at this point, I have to say it’s just getting tiresome.

Praetorian Media to dismiss this latest episode as simply another instance of the “stuttering” problem Vigorous Auld Jaux never evinced the slightest trace of throughout his entire life up until the last three years or so in 4…3…2…

Too old to rock and roll

Bruce/Ellen/Tilda, we hardly knew ye.

Bruce Springsteen returns to stage looking unrecognizable — and a little bit like Tilda Swinton
“Bruceeeeee!” — or Ellen DeGeneres?

Bruce Springsteen showed up to his first show in months looking unrecognizable — and a little bit like Tilda Swinton.

Dressed in a half-buttoned red flannel and dark jeans, the “Born to Run” musician, 74, returned to touring in Phoenix, Ariz., on Tuesday, after postponing shows due to his peptic ulcer disease.

Springsteen’s once-toned and tanned upper body appeared paler than usual, and he rocked stark white hair and a rather pallid complexion.

The pics are nothing short of chilling. In fact, in this one, he looks more than just a little bit like a certain ***”pRetend pResident”*** pinhead I could name, but won’t right now.

What can one say, really, but…YIKES!!!

Springsteen’s worldwide tour has been fraught with various medical complications since it was announced in May 2022.

In March, while touring in Albany, the New Jersey native was forced to postpone two of his shows after releasing a statement that said that the cancellation had been caused “due to illness.”

The following month, both Springsteen and his wife, Patti Scialfa — who was noticeably absent from Tuesday’s show — contracted COVID-19 and were forced to put a pause on performances.

Ferchrissakes, put a sock in it and go the fuck home, old man. I’m sure the servants at your palatial Nu Joisey mansion will have a nice pudding cup, a glass of warm milk, and a fresh Depends “adult undergarment” waiting for ya.

The losing tradition

David Solway examines some evidence that Real Americans are mired up to the axles in one.

Why Do We Almost Always Lose?
One of the besetting vices of the conservative disposition is the tendency to regard potential or likely victories in contested situations as inevitable. The conservative mind is not happy with the reality principle. It prefers not to see that menacing and intractable elements often lie beneath the cover of apparent failure. Such tranced insensibility is always quick to snatch fantasy from reality, proof that conservative analysis is often unreliable and prone to underestimating the cleverness and determination of the Left. This seems to be one reason (there are others) that conservatives have trouble winning.

Let’s consider three current examples of this unfortunate tropism.

1) Arizona candidate for governor Kari Lake’s case against Katie Hobbs on grounds of electoral impropriety and mismanagement, citing compelling evidence that had many commentators confident of courtroom success, was predictably tossed by the presiding judge, Peter A. Thompson. I say “predictably” by which I mean “utterly obvious to anyone with eyes to see.” As I wrote in a earlier article for PJM, the belief that Kari Lake’s evidence-based lawsuit against electoral fraud would bear fruit — “Kari Lake Just Ended Katie Hobbs” is the title of one conservative video — is another indication of wishful thinking rather than sober insight. The evidence of electoral malfeasance was dispositive but, given the state of the judiciary in a heavily left-oriented county, there was never any possibility of a fair judgment. Kari Lake had truth and justice on her side, which, in the ideological universe of the Left, meant she didn’t have a chance. Any astute observer would have seen that.

2) Among conservative sites like Turley Talks, The Five, and others, the general jubilating consensus in the Fani Willis travesty was that Willis would surely be cited for various forms of obvious misconduct, possibly disbarred, and certainly would not be permitted to proceed with her election interference prosecution of Donald Trump. The list of misdemeanors was so absurdly extensive as to read like a plot by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes, that is, like a comedy trying hard not to be a tragedy. Watching these programs and interviews, my wife and I were struck by the debilitating naivety of the various commentators. We knew well before the fact, and for a fact, that the presiding Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee would effectively punt the case, despite the overwhelming evidence that there was an actual conflict of interest, violation of ethical rules, perjury, and unprofessional conduct on the part of Willis. Alan Dershowitz and Victoria Taft have eviscerated the judge’s ruling, but it should have been plain from the get-go that the verdict was pre-ordained. We note also that McAfee will be facing a black primary challenger in in a Democrat-run, largely black county. Just saying.

3) Most significantly, many commentators have wondered why the Democrat Party would run an obviously senile, incompetent, corrupt, and half-demented failed president as a candidate for re-election against a hale and vigorous challenger. Following his clearly medically amped-up State of the Union Address, writes Matt Margolis, “we’ve seen Biden return to his usual low-energy, gaffe-prone self,” which does not augur well for his electoral prospects. Indeed, many of the pundits and talking heads representing the Republican side of the political divide are exulting in a sure victory, a decisive sweep of the electoral college, a favorable march of battleground states, and are perhaps even more exuberant than they were in 2020 and 2022 when victory was also presumably assured. They did not allow for a massive game of three-card monte then and, while acknowledging that the Democrats are up to their old tricks now, believe that Trump is sufficiently popular to effortlessly clear the margin of fraud.

Wrong again. The Democrats can run a doddering and decrepit excuse for a functioning politician and a demonstrably nasty human being because they are convinced that they will win again. We recall that Katie Hobbs did not bother to debate her immensely popular gubernatorial opponent Kari Lake, no doubt because she knew beforehand that, as Secretary of State presiding over the official certification, and with a compliant judiciary, friendly media sumpters, and biddable tabulators, she had the election won. Similarly, the federal Democrats are supremely confident that they have the election already in their pocket via a strategy of relentless lawfare and financial extortion against Trump, weaponized justice and policing agencies, a suborned media apparatus, digital collaborators, a degenerate university system, ballot harvesting tactics, a crew of vote counters, an army of mules to carry out their instructions, and, as Ben Bartee at PJM points out, the very real possibility of unleashing a COVID 2.0 pandemic “if and when they believe it will be politically expedient, potentially even existential, for them.” The Democrats are not to be underestimated. They could run a mummified cadaver and still win handily.

As Jeffrey Tucker points out, “this president is plunging us straight into lawlessness and dictatorship,” his dimwitted and narcoleptic condition notwithstanding. But enough of the dictatorial machine is already in place to plausibly guarantee a resounding triumph, since most of the votes will be Monopoly votes, no doubt deposited under cover of darkness as in 2020.

A-yup—as we shall soon see yet again, then refuse to learn from…yet again. One of my biggest gripes about Rush Limbaugh over the years was his mulish insistence that the FUSA was “a conservative-majority nation,” when that manifestly was, and is, NOT the case.

It’s doubtful in the extreme that seriously liberty-minded individuals have ever constituted more than a tiny minority in ANY nation, throughout human history. In this one, where even among self-proclaimed “staunch conservatives” the instantaneous reaction to any problem, conundrum, or conflict is always to tub-thump for more government involvement as the “solution”? Gedouddaheah, ya makin’ me laugh wid dat shit /end Brooklyn accent.

“Dear progressives, this is why we hate you”

Lincoln Brown offers an open letter of explanation.

Most of the moaning and groaning sycophants in the MSM will tell you that conservatives hate people of color, LGBTQ people, and immigrants. That is, of course, patently untrue. We don’t like crime, big government, people who want to pervert children, and hypocrites. We are fine with people of color and legal immigrants, and an increasing number of conservatives don’t care about someone’s orientation. We can even look the other way if a man decides he is a woman and wants to hang around Home Depot in an evening gown and heels. Just don’t mess with children’s growing bodies and minds. Other than that, your life is your own to screw up if you so choose.

What irks us is that you are not content to live your lives as you see fit. You demand that we live our lives as you see fit. Do you want to know the nature of our beef? Do you want to know why so many people back Trump? That’s why. If you want to live in a dumpster fire, fine. Just don’t make us climb in with you.

Which brings us to Natalie Castillo.

This Castillo “person,” as you may recall, is the stupid California bint who, of their own free will and entirely uncoerced, moved next door to a Nashville butcher shop, a family business which has operated in the neighborhood since the 1940s. MSXXZZZ Castillo and her “partner,” being far too delicate and evolved to bear the horrible, awful, offensive stench of meat being cooked, sprang into action without delay.

On June 17, 2021, Roy Meat Service’s new neighbor expressed belief that RMS is a “nuisance,” with the smell of meat cooking. What seems like a very frivolous thing has now become a legal battle. There has been 46 complaints filed against RMS to city and State agencies about the property, and to Metro Codes regarding 605 South 19th Street, the address of Roy Meat Service. The complaints include “concerns” about the establishment’s fencing, lightning, “junk” on the store’s property, and even the store front’s sign.

To date, Jeff has spent more than $20,000 on costs of excessive renovations based on the complaints, and legal fees to cover representation in the pending lawsuit.

East Nashvillians—REAL Nashvillians, that is, not Callyfrootopian transplants who insist on bringing their shitlib neuroses with them regardless of where they go—bit back. HARD.

Residents have been vocal in their support for the business owner.

“I think it’s very unfair to them to have to do that. You know they’ve had this business. They do things for the community and for people to just come in and put them through that is just wrong,” Janice McCormick, a longtime customer, told WZTV.

Music video director and former GOP congressional candidate Robby Starbuck leveled a blistering rebuke of the woman and her “narcissistic lawsuit.”

“Some great people have moved to TN in recent years. You are not one of them. You left CA but what made CA fail LIVES IN YOU. It’s an ideology and we don’t want it here in TN,” Stabuck wrote in a post on X.

“Go home. California is where you belong,” he continued. “We will protect TN like an anti-parasitic to guard against the destruction voters like you wrought upon states like California, New York and Illinois. Tennesseans will not let TN turn into CA. That’s a promise.”

Well said, Robby. Enough with these asswipes and their loudmouth presumptuousness, their arrogance, and their tiresome sanctimony. Don’t like living next door to a butcher shop? Go the fuck back home, then. Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord etc. Don’t waste a moment of your precious time fretting about whether your former neighbors will miss you, either. Back to Brown for the coup de grâce.

What is Natalie doing in Tennessee? Well, the policies and people she voted for and championed have turned her state into an over-priced sewer lagoon. Crime is everywhere, and one cannot walk down the street without tripping over human feces or drugged-out humans.

Nothing is priced within reach, and even fast-food joints are closing up shop. You can’t get a taco, cheeseburger, can of creamed corn, or a box of drywall screws in California without getting overcharged, overtaxed, and possibly putting your life in danger. To steal a quote from Barack Obama, people like her DID build that. Just because these approaches to government and life did not work in California, they have to work in Tennessee, right?

Wrong. New York, Illinois, Oregon, Washington, and California have become smoking craters on the map of America. If those policies had worked, Natalie would still be in California.

Lincoln says he doesn’t hate ‘em, but as was affirmed in some detail the other night, I suffer from no such compunction myself. Their works; their putrid ideology; their insufferable smugness; their interests, obsessions, and “concerns”; the damage and destruction they so wantonly wreak upon absolutely everything they come in contact with; their music, their art, their warped, demented “culture”; the “people” themselves—I hate ALL of it, every single last aspect and incarnation, including the fucking horse they rode in on, and am not the least bit reticent about saying so. May every man Jack of them burn in Hell for a thousand millennia for all me.
