The Blame Game continues

Gotta admit, here’s a culprit I hadn’t really thought of before. But after reading this, I can’t really say it’s all that much of a stretch.

So who is to blame for the current Afghanistan fiasco?

There is plenty of blame to go around. President Biden, for sure. President Obama, yes. And the second President Bush, yes, for the insane mission of nation-building, trying to install a Western-style democracy in a land that was wholly unsuited for it.

But here is a name nobody is mentioning but should. That name is…Ronald Reagan.

Yeah, I know, I know. Just slow your roll a little, and hear this guy out.

I hate saying that. I supported the sainted Reagan rabidly back in the day, and I still do in many ways. But now, in retrospect, I see Reagan as the ultimate culprit for the current fiasco. History may yet look to Ronald Reagan’s decision to intervene in Afghanistan as his biggest mistake.

But, gee, Reagan’s decision sure seemed like the right decision at the time. I certainly supported it.

The Russian war in Afghanistan consisted of three phases. Phase 1: The Russians invaded with a classical WWII army — and promptly got their backsides handed to them. The USSR lost Phase 1.

But the Russians learned their lessons and for the next phase used a modern strategy of helicopters and other air assets to obliterate the Mujaheddin. It worked. The USSR won Phase 2 and, as a result, completely controlled the country. The Mujaheddin were exiled across the Khyber Pass in Pakistan, licking their wounds.

Phase 3 can be summed up in one word: Stinger, as in Stinger missiles. With Stinger missiles, which Uncle Ronnie gave them, the Mujaheddin took air control away from the Russians, drove them out, and the rest is — not only history, but now current events, too.

For a short time, the USSR had built a classical Marxist state in Afghanistan. So what are the hallmarks of such a regime?

A police state — yes. Brutal suppression of dissent — yes. Lots of suppression of human rights, lots of imprisonment, lots of executions, lots of corruption — yes, yes, yes.

But now think of what else it means.

Suppression of organized religion. In this case, this isn’t gentle, harmless Christianity we’re talking about. Rather, this is jihadist Islam. This would have been suppressed savagely, not least because, unlike Christianity, such an Islam really is a threat to a secular, atheistic state.

So, inside this classical, secular, atheist Marxist state, there’d have been no room at all for al-Qaeda or the Taliban or ISIS. Afghanistan would never have become a world base for Islamic terror. There never would have been an attack on 9/11.

Here are other hallmarks of Marxism, and these are positive, at least in the context of a medieval Islamic nation: universal health. Universal education, and for girls as well as for boys.

If Marxism had been allowed to prevail in Afghanistan, its women would have been immensely better off than what actually happened to them.

It might sound ugly and cruel, but at this stage of things I can’t honestly say I give much of a shit about what might happen to women in ANY Moslem shithole. And while we’re being brutally honest here, I also can’t say I care much more about the fate of the thousands of American State Dept personnel who are stuck there, either. Same goes for “our Afghani allies”—translators, ANA soldiers, etc.

Yes, I do agree that they’ve been stabbed in the back—betrayed and ruthlessly abandoned by a faithless, heartless “ally.” So stipulated. But see, those poor, hapless Afghanis made the same mistake a goodly number of Normal Americans here at home still make: their conception of what the USA—specifically, the US government—is and what it actually is are, shall we say, at variance. WIDE variance.

Tens of thousands will die horribly at the hands of some of the most vicious, barbaric monsters the race is capable of producing because of all this. I’m sorry for that. I wish it wasn’t happening. But there’s also not one damned thing I can do about it. For those doomed souls who acted on their misplaced faith that the wholly-evil US government would have their backs and honor its promise to protect them, the sad fact is this:

There is a silver lining to this whole clusterfuck, however tarnished. If nothing else, after Biden’s Big Afghan Adventure, there can be NO excuse for not recognizing the true nature of the US federal government—what it is; what it does; what its intentions are; what it actually gives a shit about, and what it doesn’t. The mask has been ripped away for good; there’s no longer any way to conceal the ugly truth. The more people awakened by the revelations of this past week, the more likely that corrective action will be taken, and the sooner it will happen. If so, we’ll all be better off for it.

Another real no-shitter, this one quite comprehensive and in-depth.

I ask that you not use my name. I am a currently serving General Officer and what I have to say is highly critical of our current military leadership. But it must be said.

I don’t blame President Biden for the catastrophe in Afghanistan. It was the right decision to leave, the proof of which is how quickly the country collapsed without US support. Twenty years of training and equipping the Afghan army and all that they were capable of was a few hours of delay in a country the size of Texas. As for his predecessor, the only blame I place on President Trump was that he didn’t withdraw sooner.

We should blame President Bush, not for the decision to attack into Afghanistan following 9-11, but for his decision to “shift the goalposts” and attempt to reform Afghanistan society. That was a fool’s errand any student of history would have recognized. And yes, we should place blame on President Obama for his decision to double down on failure when he “surged” in Afghanistan, rather than to withdraw.

However, most of the blame belongs to the leadership of the US military, and the Army in particular. The Washington Post’s “Afghanistan Papers” detailed years of US officials failing to tell the truth about the war in Afghanistan, “making rosy pronouncements they knew to be false and hiding unmistakable evidence the war had become unwinnable.” That report was two years ago, and the stories within it began more than a decade before that. Afghanistan was, and always will be, “unwinnable”.

Of course, I blame President Biden for the disastrous retrograde operation still unfolding. But let us not allow that to deflect us from heaping even more blame on military leaders. They stonewalled President Trump rather than beginning deliberate preparations to exit the country when he told them to. They thought that they could outlast him and then talk sense to his successor. Then after the inauguration, they pressed the new president to reverse course. He wisely chose withdrawal. Then and only then did the generals begin their preparations in earnest. But it was too late to do it well.

The war in Afghanistan lasted more than twice as long as the Vietnam War. Although the cost in terms of American blood was thankfully far smaller, the mistakes are the same: America got involved in a long land war in Asia, in a peripheral region, in order to prop up a floundering and unreliable government, and at a time when there was a much bigger looming threat. In fact, Afghanistan was worse than Vietnam in that at least the Vietnam War was tangentially related to the effort to stop the global spread of communism during the Cold War. Afghanistan was worse than Vietnam in another respect: the military’s leaders of the Vietnam era had no precedent to dissuade them from a disastrous path. Today’s military leadership has the precedent of not just Vietnam, but also Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, and Yemen. That much obtuseness must be punished and removed from the system.

It SHOULD be, sure. It won’t.

General Milley must resign. Not only is he the Chairman of the Joint Staff, prior to that he was the Chief of Staff of the Army. While all services share the blame, the Army is the land domain proponent. The 20 years of failure in Afghanistan is an Army failure. Scores of other generals also deserve a thorough evaluation; many of them are complicit in the lies to protect a decades-long failed strategy.

Won’t happen, and we all know it won’t. I suspect the only people who seriously think it might are the self-same purblind Pollyannas who blibber on and on about the vitally vital importance of “taking back Congress in 2022.”

Secretary of Defense Austin also must be fired. The recently retired Army general and former CENTCOM commander was, and still is, part of the culture that is impervious to the fact that 20 years of trying it their way did not work.

Won’t happen.

Just as it did after Vietnam, the military, and especially the Army, must conduct a comprehensive review of why it exists.

Won’t happen.

The purpose of the Army is to visit profound violence on our nation’s enemies; it is not to rebuild failed states. We have decades of experience: counter-insurgencies and nation-building does not work for America. We do not have the stomach for long wars of occupation—and that is a good thing. We are a nation of commerce, not conflict. A constellation of retired stars will tell you that the two can coexist. They are wrong. Retired Vice Chief of Staff of the Army General Jack Keane said only two months ago that because Afghanistan consumes just a small portion of the force, America “can afford the cost of fighting” there. What he does not see is that for 20 years, that “small portion” was the most important portion of the military. Everything else necessarily is subservient to the portion of the force in conflict. It has altered who the Army is and how it thinks. There exists only a handful of officers below the general officer ranks who served during the Cold War and who have lived through an era of great power conflict. From private through brigade commander, virtually every Army Soldier serving today has experienced little other than counterinsurgencies or nation-building while operating out of secure FOBs.

Hey, what better way to exhaust said military; demoralize the warriors at the pointy end; erode the support for said military among its natural base of same; reinforce the paramount urgency of the fundamentally anti-American idea that participation in multinational forces (as no more than “one among equals,” even though the contribution demanded of the US will always and forever exceed that of all other “coalition partners” combined, by orders of magnitude) and submission to the authority of globalist organizations—in short, to invalidate and demolish the very concept of national sovereignty and independence, thereby achieving the eternal Leftist dream of One World Government: omnipotent, unchallengeable, eternal. Why, one might almost imagine the whole thing had been planned in advance or something.

Large scale combat operations and insurgencies require different cultures and mindsets. In a resource constrained environment, the same service cannot do both well. The Army today could not win a major war.

Clearly, it couldn’t even win a minor one.

Yet, winning a major war, is the number one reason why an Army exists. It will take a generation to break bad habits, to think in terms of closing with and destroying the enemy versus winning hearts and minds.

More importantly, it will take a clear-eyed, stout-hearted populace whose will to victory hasn’t been broken by seeing the lives of friends, family members, and neighbors who are in the military squandered for no discernible purpose or gain by an entirely loathsome and corrupt political/military complex, in pointless conflicts half-heartedly fought in farflung shitholes all over the world—places in which there there is no national interest to be found.

Keane sees raw numbers (and ignores the stark evidence that there was no progress over 20 years) and thinks that America’s Army can sustain that level of commitment. It cannot, and the opportunity cost to the culture of the force is much too great. Ignore him. Ignore Petraeus, McMaster, Stavridis, and the rest of their ilk.

Done.

Let us not forget the intelligence agencies. They reported that Kabul was at risk of falling in as little as 90 days. That report was from last Thursday! The capital fell in less than 90 hours. Failure must be punished. And punishment in a bureaucracy means mass firings and a smaller budget—not more money so that they might be better the next time. Congress must consolidate and collapse our intelligence agencies. And when its reorganization is done, if the overall size of the nation’s intelligence apparatus is a quarter of what it is now, that still is too large.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. Won’t happen.

And while we are on the topic of “too large,” DoD must be halved. There are too many flag officers, too many agencies, departments, and directorates. It is the only secretariat with independent but supposedly subordinate secretaries. There are too many Geographic Component Commands—each led by a 4-star virtual proconsul whose budget dwarfs what the Department of State spends in their regions. The result is a foreign policy that is overly military and underly diplomatic, informational, and economic. Congress must revisit the 1947 National Security Act and the 1986 Goldwater-Nichols Act. Both were good for their times, but after decades of experience, there clearly are new reforms necessary.

Unreformed, DoD is an inscrutable labyrinth which invites fraud, waste, and abuse. The excess attracts unscrupulous camp followers. Amazon did not choose Crystal City to locate its new headquarters because of low rents and ease of transportation access for its 25,000 employees. It chose the Arlington, Virginia neighborhood because it is two blocks from the Pentagon. That building controls the distribution of three-quarters of a trillion dollars every year. Most of it is wasted. The excess is apparent in the scores of class-A high rises housing defense contractors just blocks from the Pentagon. To end that waste, nothing so concentrates the senses as austerity.

Okay, I’m gonna just lay off the “won’t happen” schtick—do I really even need to say it again? No, I do not—so we can get to the last crucial bit.

Let me conclude with one last thought: the generals, the intelligence analysts, the defense contractors, and the pundits all leveraged America’s rarest resource: the American serviceman and woman. They are the ones who fought, and sweat, and bled, and died for what is now clearly a failed strategy and a doomed mission. Even after its failure was apparent to their leaders, they continued to enlist and reenlist, largely because their superiors—the experts—assured them that success was possible. It was not. It never was. Absent American support, Afghanistan collapsed over the length of a long weekend. That is proof enough that the last 20 years were in vain, and proof enough that the system is broken from within.

Actually, we’ll never know for sure whether “success was possible” or not…because it was never actively, vigorously pursued. In reality, it was barely ever even discussed—certainly, it was never defined, after the original goal of “find and kill bin Laden” shifted to “remove the Taliban, destroy their ability to provide a base for the projection of jihadi power a la 9/11,” morphing from there into “Make Afghanistan Georgetown Again.”

Once again, The Power and its Grand Scheme has been undone by its own arrogance, incompetence, and witless disregard for the harsher realities. If it weren’t for the way the horrific consequences of their folly always crash down onto the heads of the hapless wretches so uncaringly used and manipulated by them, watching the serial pratfalls of our grotesquely-misnomered “Elite” would be funny as all hell to watch.

A real no-shitter of an AAR

STRONG message follows.

Some of you Afghan Veterans out there are hurting, trying to make sense of what this all means. Including some of my peers, who are not immune to the feel bads coming out of this clusterfuck. So allow me to give you a different perspective, one that will perhaps sooth the pain a bit. I shoot straight, and this isn’t all sunshine and roses. There is going to be some Grim Dark up front. But it does have a silver lining, hear me out.

Was this a foolish mission to start with? Yes. The only way to decisively win in Afghanistan was full scale genocide, which we knew from about 2003 forward. We don’t have the stomach for that, and that is probably a good thing.

Nah, not so much. All’s we ever had to do—ever SHOULD have done—is hew closely to LeMay’s Maxim, a man who very much knew whereof he spoke when it came to waging war: If you kill enough of them, they stop fighting.

Did we lose? Yeah, goddamn right we lost. Let’s just get that out of the way now, like ripping off a band aid. Do not get out the “ We were winning when I left” hats and slap a Ghan flag on them. Face the facts, and then act. If the goal 20 years ago was to remove the Taliban, and now the Taliban is back 100% in control without even requiring a name change, then the objective was not met.

Is it your fault? No. The failure here, while stunning, rests on the political class and the Generals. So like I said, the political class. Who, exactly, do you think lost this war? You, out slogging the mountains, and mowing down Taliban fighters with a machine gun, and surviving on fish sticks and MRE crackers at the firebase, and winning EVERY tactical level engagement for 20 years? Or the spineless General who didn’t hear a gun shot despite 9 tours, who was the architect of the grand strategy, and spent his time quite literally getting his dick sucked by his biographer in his office at Bagram instead of trying to win?

We can safely say at this point that the real goal in Afghanistan was a transfer of wealth from the tax payers to the MIC ( Military Industrial Complex) and the politicians they bought with the profits. $88 billion dollars ( for the ANA alone) is a staggering figure. For that much money, you could have paid half of Afghanistan to kill the other half. You could have paid China or India or even Pakistan to do it for you. That money was wasted, and we all knew that well over a decade ago.

Afghanistan should never have been anything except a punitive expedition. We should have left in 2004, 2006, 2007, or ten minutes after Osama Bin Laden died. Any one of those would have been a leave with honor type situation. Instead, we opted to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and look like incompetent boobs to the entire planet. I should say, our Generals and Politicians opted for that. Almost like that was the goal………

The idea of spending 2.2 trillion dollars to “export our way of life” to cavemen is retarded, and anyone with an ounce of sense knows that. I often said that giving the Ghans a Jeffersonian Democracy was a fool’s errand, since we could barely keep one functioning ourselves. Post Nov 4th, 2020, we know that “barely functioning” wasn’t true either. The idea of the US Government fighting corruption is laughable in our own country. So no shit we laundered 2.2 trillion into bribes and fake projects, what did you think was going to happen?

How many Company Grade Officers were relieved of command or run up on charges over 20 years? A lot. Hundreds, if not thousands. How many Generals faced the same fate, or resigned in disgrace over their incompetence? None. Stan McCrystal resigned for saying not nice things about Obumer to a Rolling Stone reporter, but that doesn’t count. In fact, perhaps it is telling that General JSOC himself was played in such a manner. If ole Stanley is too much of a fucking idiot not to effectively give his enemy kryptonite and ask him nice not to use it, what does that say about the rest of the Officer Caste? For that matter, how many children did the CEO of Ratheyon or Boeing or Lockheed Martin lose to the meat grinder?

Yeah, it hurts. I feel you. We all lost friends. Had our brothers return home mangled and broken. Was it worth it? No. But those are sunk costs, so we might as well look at what we gained from the experience.

He goes on to list a few of those silver-lining items before laying down some 24-karat-gold, capital-t Truth:

We lost this war the minute Code Pink was taken seriously. The minute Bradly Manning and Bo Berghdale weren’t hung. The first time we charged one of our warfighters with murder or using excessive force. The first time we denied a element in contact air support. Our people, 49% of them at least, are weak and stupid. The great sifting has just begun, and it will get worse. That is the price you pay for allowing weakness to take root in your society.

All of us, I promise, will be needed once again. And soon. And not in some Bureaucrat, Blue Blood , Skull and Bones created debacle on the edge of the Empire. I mean needed as in needed like the Spartans at Thermopylae. The weakness on display right now by the Government of the United States will not go unnoticed by the world at large. We can expect now to be poked in the chest, because we have shown that we will take it.

Seems to me it ain’t really the rest of the world that we need to be concerning ourselves with now. As I keep saying, the war has been brought home to us, right to our very doorsteps. The primary threat to American liberty, American prosperity and security, and Americans themselves, no longer comes from enemies abroad. As in the classic old horror-movie line: The calls are coming from inside the house.

Screwed, blued, tattooed

The always-wise and eloquent Claire Wolfe is wondering about a few important things.

We hardly need Arnold Schwartzenegger to tell us our freedom is screwed.

As determined as we freedomistas may be to uphold our mental and philosophical freedoms, our political freedoms and economic freedoms are gone-gone-gone. They’ve been going for decades of course. But we now live under a regime that in eight months has ruled via a combination of ever-shifting whim, diktat, incompetence, and a complete disregard for reason, principle, or constitutional law.

When you’re ruled by capricious madmen, your external freedoms are moot. Here today, gone tomorrow, partially restored for a few moments the day after that, made illegal and punishable by heaven knows what the following day.

Knowing we’re headed for some sort of revolution, I’ve surrounded myself with history books. Seeking parallels. Seeking key differences. Seeking advice from the past. Seeking useful blog fodder.

What can we learn not to do from the French? How are we like, and different from, the Americans of 1774? Must we expect the Russian revolution or might we be smart, luck out and get the kind they had more recently in Estonia or East Germany or Hungary? What can the fall of the Roman empire and its long aftermath tell us? How about the Irish, with their centuries of failure followed finally by a “success” that tears them apart to this day?

I’m telling you, though, I read and read and read and got nada.

While history does at times conveniently rhyme — or echo; we can hear the echoes of several civilizations now — our circumstances are so different they’re like discordant, meterless, meaningless nonsense verse, conveying nothing coherent.

I called up a friend with whom I often brainstorm.

“Give me some insights, preferably with a dose of optimism,” I requested.

For half an hour he ranted about…how screwed we are.

Yes, we’re like the French in 1789 or the American colonists in 1774 or the Irish in 1916. But we’re much more like Germany in 1933.

I have no hope for us; we are such a nation of cowards. We have no backbone.

Even after decades of being lied to, we’re watching Americans not only bow down to every bit of nonsense uttered by the establishment, but seeing those of us who question the nonsense demonized as vermin, to be exterminated.

It’s the kind of self-righteousness that goes along with absolute spinelessness.

Well. That was cheery.

Oddly ironic, ain’t it, how we’ve suddenly found ourselves tossed about on the stormy seas of all-too-familiar history, and yet are in completely uncharted territory simultaneously. But since Claire brought up the French and all, Dave Renegade reviews a little French history that might well contain a useful lesson or three for us.

History once again repeats itself as Afghanistan has fallen to the Taliban in a matter of days. Or should we acknowledge this as a surrender since the American puppet army did not give any resistance to their conquerors. I doubt the Afghanistan government installed by the United States was popular except with the opium traders. I also doubt that this was an intelligence failure: the CIA knew what was going to happen. They found greener pastures to rape under the illegal Biden administration.

The analogy of Napoleon’s return to power from Elba should also be considered. Napoleon landed back in France on March 1, 1815. He regained power in Paris on March 20, 1815 without any resistance.

Napoleon was recognized by the military and the people as their rightful leader:

[Napoleon] landed at Cannes on March 1st, intending to travel to the city of Grasse, however the road he wanted to travel did not exist for the Bourbons had given up on expensive works in order to have money. It was known that Grasse was in favour of Royalist cause at the time, yet Napoleon’s sudden appearance led to submission towards the Emperor. After this display of loyalty to the Emperor, Napoleon began to march confidently to Paris as the population were in favour of his cause. There was zero opposition until they reached a battalion on the road the fifth day after landing at Cannes. The commanding officer of said battalion refused to talk to Napoleon. Hearing this, The Emperor took matters into his own hands and walked straight at the battalion with his 100 soldiers treading behind slowly, ripped open his jacket, exposed his chest to the entire battalion and shouted “Let him that has the heart kill the Emperor”. Upon seeing this, the soldiers threw down their arms, tears in their eyes, and shouted “Vive l’Empereur!”

How about another repeat to replace an illegal and unpopular government?

Dave goes on to roll out a scenario involving a reclamation of power by the rightful POTUS (Trump) which parallels Napoleon’s. It has its appeal, I guess, but is unlikely in the extreme to happen. He includes several useful suggestions for what should happen after that, all of which are good.

Honestly, though, I’m pretty much all done with Trump, and I’m by no means alone in that. He had his contribution to make; if nothing else, Trump pulled off the lid to expose what a great big box of pure, undiluted nasty the US government has become. But now—love him or hate him, for better or for worse—his time has passed. From what I’m seeing, he’s lost a significant chunk of his core support at this point—so much of it, in fact, that I have to wonder if he’d even be re-elected in an honest election today. I seriously doubt he would, frankly.

Something wicked, this way coming

Spidey senses are tingling all over the place, according to folks whose experience with such matters demand that close attention be paid.

Told y’all about my dreams the past few days. They ain’t changing. Pretty much a ‘get ready, something wicked this way comes…’ kind of ‘itch’ in my brain. Now, for the doubters out there, let me explain something here…

MANY instances where I got a ‘itch’ or a ‘bug up my ass’ as Lil Country would call it, or as Middle would say, “Big done got a hair a’crost his ass agin!” and give me shit about it, but my track record speaks for itself. 2004, went to work 15 minutes early, dodged the mortar shell with my name on it. Showed up a hour early but was still too late to get on Major Duckworth’s Blackhawk, which subsequently got shot down. Rolled down Route Irish on September 11th of 2011 to the airport, and -somehow- didn’t get blowed the fuck up by the 14 I.E.D.s that were planted directly on the stretch of road I had just driven down.

So yeah, I’ve learned to listen real hard to the voice that sez “Hey dood!” and metaphorically pokes me in my soft spot in my nugget labeled “Paranoia”. It’s kept and served me in good staid so far. Even Wifey and Sapper are on Board with my weird predictive/lucky as shit abilities.

Now, reason I’m a bit on the weird side right now? Well, besides the 3 alarm (it ain’t a 5 yet) ringing in my nugget, Last night? Well my original fecesbook was deleted, and about 4 months later, to stay ‘networked’ with ‘my guys and gals’ in from the DotMil, I created a new one. I hardly ever poast on it, mostly so’s I have PM comms to them to exchange info and email addys. And besides that I have the speed dial set up with some folks who’re on the ‘list of fuckers I want/need on my side in a Mad Max scenario’. Seems I’m not the only one with these ‘feelings’/’hunches’

No shit, 3 people yesterday…The Colonel, one of my Rakkasan Bros from 2nd Platoon, and then ANOTHER Rakk from MY platoon, all reaching out, one by phone PM, the other from FB IM. ALL asking how I’m holding up, what my ‘feeling’ was about shit right now, and yeah they know about my abilities as well…my hunches were well known back in the day…and 3 separate messages essentially saying “Hey, IF shit gets real, you’re welcome to bug out here! Bring ammo and all your shit!”
Damn…

Then today, I get a call from Ranger Jay who’s been off the radar for a few months (his ole lady ain’t a fan of me and Wifey) and then, a chick I used to date back at Campbell from back in the day who I’ve kept in close contact with…female medic. Was always ‘part of the doomer crew’ as we jokingly called ourselves back then…now it’s not so funny.
Double Damn…

Yet another of those situations where I certainly hope he’s wrong, but fear he ain’t. And, as the old saying goes, “hope” ain’t a plan.

The impact of America’s failure, of the slow, tragic journey from Operation Enduring Freedom to those images today of desperate Afghans clinging to the undercarriage of the last US military airplanes to leave Afghanistan, will be dire and long-lasting. Most immediately the US has shown itself to be an untrustworthy ally. Which nation or people in need of help would align with this supposedly freedom-loving superpower that abandons its allies to their fate when the enemy comes knocking? Who now will trust the US to assist in the building of new institutions given the rotten fruits of its multi-billion-dollar, 20-year ‘nation-building’ project in Afghanistan – a calamitously weak Potemkin government that capitulated instantly when the Taliban hit the streets of Kabul?

This geopolitical disaster for the US will also strengthen the hand of its opponents, most notably China. China is already moving to consolidate its relationship with the Taliban and to assert its authoritative influence in the new Afghanistan. Islamist forces will take succour from the victory of the self-styled Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, too. Both regionally and among aspiring jihadists in the West, the victory of the Islamist side in the ‘war on terror’, the return to power of the movement that was hosting al-Qaeda when it visited its barbarism upon the infidels of New York City and Washington, DC, in 2001, will inspire confidence and action. Israel must be incredibly worried right now, knowing that Islamic extremists are again in the ascendant, and that its one-time chief supporter walks away from wars on terror.

Yeah, well, I’d say Israel will have to look after itself for the foreseeable future, as will the rest of the once-free world. We have knitting of our own to tend to at the moment, and plenty of it.

The Afghan humiliation is not only a military failure – it’s a political and moral one, too. Extraordinarily bad political decisions have been taken by the US, including its willingness to trust the Taliban and its belief that this brutal, misanthropic, misogynistic movement could be a player in the ‘international community’. Even now, Washington seems completely out of touch with events on the ground in Afghanistan. Its intelligence officers said the Taliban could take Kabul within 90 days. That was four days ago. They know nothing. One gets the impression of a confused, decaying empire looking with bamboozlement upon even those parts of the earth it rules.

“Impression”?

But above all of that, above even the political and military incoherence of the American empire, there is the corrosive cultural dynamic. This might just be the most important factor in the Afghan humiliation – the fact that the US, and the West more broadly, clearly lacks the cultural resources necessary for a clash of civilisations. This wasn’t just a territorial battle, a fight over the land of Afghanistan. It was also a cultural clash. It was a war between one side that has very strong beliefs and is more than willing to die for them, and another side that doesn’t know what it stands for anymore and would rather avoid risk and self-sacrifice if at all possible. I’ll leave you to decide which of these is the Taliban, and which the US.

This was always the West’s problem in Afghanistan: it lacked faith in the very values it claimed to be delivering to that benighted country. We will liberate women from life under the burqa, Western officials said. But isn’t it ‘Islamophobic’ to criticise the burqa, or any other Islamic practice for that matter? Our elites have insisted for years that it is. We will replace your intolerant Islamist system with a civil society fashioned by clever professors, the West promised. But isn’t it judgemental and possibly a tad racist – certainly an offence against the ideology of multiculturalism – to imply that Western democracy is superior to Islamist theocracy? As one British think-tank says, in its definition of the term ‘Islamophobia’, it is wrong to suggest that Islam is in any way ‘inferior to the West’. The West’s post-9/11 bluster was continually undermined by the West’s broader descent into moral relativism. How can you assert the civilisational authority of Western values when your entire educational and university system is devoted to questioning and demeaning Western civilisation? You cannot partake in a clash of civilisations if you loathe your own civilisation.

Anyone who thinks the Taliban did not pick up on all of this, on the Potemkin nature not only of the Afghan government but also of Western civilisation itself, is kidding themselves. The Taliban will have watched as the mighty American military became bogged down in discussions of critical race theory and the problem of ‘white rage’. They will have clocked the British army’s recruitment drive that was aimed at ‘snowflakes’ and ‘me me me millennials’ – for real – on the basis that such people have the ‘compassion’ necessary for the touchy-feely wars of the 21st century. They will know that the contemporary West is shame-faced about its history and its civilisational values and lacks ideas for how to turn its fragile youths into a fighting force, and they will understand their own life-and-death devotion to Sharia as being the opposite to all of this. They know this was a cultural clash as well as a military fight, and that they were by far the stronger side on this front.

Nailed it, clean and tight. I’ve said over and over again: Amerika v2.0 has absolutely, positively NO business involving itself in any conflict, major or minor, that can’t be resolved by pimple-faced doughboys sitting at keyboards in an air-conditioned trailer somewhere in Arizona, launching missiles from drones at high altitude. If that won’t fix it, we need to mind our own business from here on out.

The point about Amerika v2.0 being a wholly unreliable and faithless ally is an apt one, too. But as with so many of our other current woes, that hardly began this past week either.

In 1972, Church and Senator Clifford Case of New Jersey were able to push through the Senate an amendment to foreign-aid legislation that would end funding for all U.S. military operations in Southeast Asia except for withdrawal (subject to the release of all prisoners of war). Senate passage of the legislation, with the amendment, marked the first time that either chamber had passed a provision establishing a cutoff of funds for continuing the war. Though House and Senate conferees failed to reach an agreement on the measure, the support for the amendment was seen by the administration as another sign that antiwar forces were gaining strength. The McGovern-Hatfield amendment was enormously popular with the public. A January 1971 Gallup poll showed that public support for the amendment stood at 73 percent.

During the final negotiations with the Vietnamese over ending the war, culminating with the 1972 Christmas Bombings and the Paris Peace Accords in January 1973, the president knew that he only had a limited amount of time before Congress finally used the power of the purse to bring the war to an end — regardless of what the administration wanted. Indeed, to make certain that the president could not reverse course, in June 1973 Congress passed legislation that included an amendment sponsored by Church and Case to prohibit the use of more funds in Southeast Asia after August 15. Sixty-four senators voted in favor. When the House assented, its vote marked the first time that chamber had agreed to cut off funds, too.

Most importantly, Congress passed the War Powers Act in 1973 over Nixon’s veto. The legislation imposed a series of restrictions on the executive branch to ensure that the president would have to consult with the House and Senate before authorizing the troops for long periods of time.

For the remainder of the decade, congress continued to legislate its ideas about U.S. conduct in the Cold War and to restrict the authority of the executive branch. In 1975, Congress refused President Gerald Ford’s last-minute request to increase aid to South Vietnam by $300 million, just weeks before it fell to communist control. Few legislators had taken the request seriously; many conservative Republicans and hawkish Democrats agreed by then that Vietnam was lost and that the expenditure would have been a waste.

Congress also tackled the important national security issues of covert operations and intelligence. Hearings by Church pressured Ford into issuing an executive order that imposed restrictions on the CIA, including a ban on assassinations. Ford agreed to issue the order, rather than waiting for inevitable congressional reforms, after then–Chief of Staff Dick Cheney told him such action would protect the CIA from “irresponsible attack” and protect presidential authority. In 1978, Congress passed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which required court-supervised monitoring of domestic surveillance operations by the federal government. The reforms were a response to revelations that the government had rampantly abused its power throughout the Cold War.

In sum, Congress played a very important role in building opposition to an unpopular and failed Cold War intervention. Legislators emerged as major voices of skepticism, criticism, and outright opposition to Vietnam. They checked the hawks in the administration who refused to believe the facts on the ground. Congress was ultimately pivotal to placing pressure on the Nixon administration to end a conflict that cost approximately 58,000 American lives.

Today, members from both parties would benefit by looking back at the history of Congress in the Vietnam era.

Wouldn’t they just, though; in fact, the American people as a whole would. It’s the intentional failure of the government school system to expose the impressionable young minds in their charge to proper, truthful and complete history and civics instruction that’s the primary cause of the catastrophe we’re seeing unfold all around us now.

Thoughts from a man who grasps the basic concept one hell of a lot better than a toxic gnome like Herr Doktor Fauci ever will.

This Western idea was the founding concept and intellectual motive of America, and no matter how badly it was ever treated since it first dawned, it is nonetheless the finest and most productive way of life ever abstracted in human history. It should be the aim of everyone who loves human life, “the people,” “the American People,” or any other presumptive grouping beloved by the advocate.

The plainly-grasped idea of freedom is well-enough understood by tens of millions of Americans who also understand that government is its opposite. It’s no mere “conversation” to people who know that the root element of government is force. More and more, they take the principle to heart and mind: if they cannot reason their way to freedom, and if force is the ruling principle of dealing with each-other, then, in the ringing admonition of Nancy Pelosi, “People are going to do what they’re going to do.”

So, the real question isn’t so much whether people will fight, but whether anyone should, and why. It wouldn’t occur to me to compare American politics with “the modern Middle East” (a crashing non sequitur) for the reasons outlined above. The vast cultural differences in basic philosophy make it a pointless diversion. An honest concern with America must take up the irreconcilable conflict of individualism (the basic American idea) vs. collectivism.

Individualism is politically manifest as freedom. Without a great deal of honest and effective philosophical guidance (certainly not as much as it requires or deserves), the very idea of freedom yet survives as a sort of gut-level apprehension in enough Americans that it frightens people who are not opposed to violence in principle. It’s just that their own offensive violence (by the state) is rationalized by presuming other people’s values (e.g.; “the common good”).

They don’t mind using force for what they want, and it outrages them when they’re threatened with opposition on that principle. (They don’t consider whether it would come to any of this if only they would leave people to their own lives on their own powers.)

Americans, being convinced that freedom is the best way for all humans to live, must necessarily by basic nature and their ethics deny all socialist authority over anyone’s life. In a politics more evidently resorting to force at every turn, all serious discussions of violence must account for the essential values at stake that would even bring the matter to such attention.

Interim Operational Considerations for Implementing the Shielding Approach to Prevent COVID-19 Infections in Humanitarian Settings

Hrm. On the somewhat bright side, at least the headline consists of some good, old-school goobermint bafflegab, the usual word salad designed not to elucidate but to conceal. There’s a sort of left-handed comfort to be taken from that, since it’s no departure from the normal standard. PRO TIP: Do NOT be expecting that comfort I just mentioned to last very long. Because I assure you, it ain’t gonna.

What is the Shielding Approach?
The shielding approach aims to reduce the number of severe COVID-19 cases by limiting contact between individuals at higher risk of developing severe disease (“high-risk”) and the general population (“low-risk”). High-risk individuals would be temporarily relocated to safe or “green zones” established at the household, neighborhood, camp/sector or community level depending on the context and setting. They would have minimal contact with family members and other low-risk residents.

Current evidence indicates that older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. In most humanitarian settings, older population groups make up a small percentage of the total population. For this reason, the shielding approach suggests physically separating high-risk individuals from the general population to prioritize the use of the limited available resources and avoid implementing long-term containment measures among the general population.

In theory, shielding may serve its objective to protect high-risk populations from disease and death. However, implementation of the approach necessitates strict adherence to protocol. Inadvertent introduction of the virus into a green zone may result in rapid transmission among the most vulnerable populations the approach is trying to protect.

A summary of the shielding approach described by Favas is shown in Table 1. See Guidance for the prevention of COVID-19 infections among high-risk individuals in low-resource, displaced and camp and camp-like settings, for full details.

Emphasis mine on the more alarming bits, so’s nobody misses anything. But really, it shouldn’t be necessary; for any passably intelligent individual who knows something about world history, the pattern couldn’t be more obvious.

I mean seriously, now: anybody out there need to have it spelled out what “camp and camp-like settings” might imply? As for what they mean by “high-risk individuals,” well, that ought to be equally easy to comprehend. That would be you; me; every other dedicated NonVaxxer; Trump supporters and other purveyors of “misinformation,” about any topic at all; and any stubborn holdouts with the insufferable temerity to still prefer the long-gone US Constitution and the government established by it to the illegitimate Leftist tyranny currently in charge.

In short, all us Deplorables. More, and worse:

The shielding approach advises against any new facility construction to establish green zones; however, few settings will have existing shelters or communal facilities with designated latrines/bathing facilities to accommodate high-risk individuals. In these settings, most latrines used by HHs are located outside the home and often shared by multiple HHs.

If dedicated facilities are available, ensure safety measures such as proper lighting, handwashing/hygiene infrastructure, maintenance and disinfection of latrines.

Ensure facilities can accommodate high-risk individuals with disabilities, children and separate genders at the neighborhood/camp-level.

Why the desperate push for universal vaccination when the evidence is clear, and the CDC even admits, that vaccination does not protect against the delta variant, and more unprotected “variants” are on the way. The desperation to jab everyone with a “vaccine” that does not protect but does kill and bring health injuries implies a darker agenda. There are a couple of amusing tidbits concerning the deadlydeadlyDEADLY!!! “Delta” variant and all its metastizing plus-plus-plus-plus add-ons in the BP piece I excerpted earlier, items of interest I decided not to include then but will throw out there now:

The current fear narrative being peddled by Fauci and Biden is the dreaded Delta variant, previously known as the Indian variant. Did you ever wonder why they had to rename the Indian variant? The chart below is why.

The panic porn media was running non-stop horror stories about India and the bodies piling up in the streets back in May. At that time less than 4% of the Indian population had been vaxxed. Even today it is only 7% of their 1.3 billion people. The talking heads, and Fauci, all pointed to India as a humanitarian tragedy in the making – using it as their fear tactic for getting the jab. But their narrative fell apart in a matter of weeks and you no longer hear about India on the nightly news.

That’s because cases crashed by 90% in the two months from the peak in May. And guess what? It happened with no vaccine rollout. They did send tens of millions of doses of ivermectin out to the population. These FACTS do not support the approved narrative being spun by our contemptible corrupt leaders. This flu is seasonal. Cases, based on a flawed PCR test, are already highly questionable. And 40,000 cases per day in a country with four times the population of the U.S. is a non-event. India’s deaths peaked at about 4,000 per day in May and are now 500 per day, down 88% with virtually no one getting jabbed.

How could India’s deaths per million (312) be 64% lower than the U.S. (866) when they have very few vaccinated, have a vast majority of their 1.3 billion people living in squalor, and have limited medical resources for the majority. Seems like a conundrum, and now you know why our pandemia panic patrol no longer speak about India. Just like they no longer speak about Sweden, because their no lockdown, no mask mandates, and no forced vaccination policies have worked spectacularly well, while not infringing upon the rights and freedoms of their citizens. These examples are an embarrassment to the Great Reset crowd and their agenda of controlling the masses through fear and threats.

As BP goes on to discuss, it was then off to the UK for the fear-pimps, where the standard panic over DELTAAAAAGGGHHH!!! was duly ginned up with monumental disappointment Boris Johnson credited with an assist by way of some most-helpful lockdown, mask, and NotVaxx passport mandate renewals. Back to PCR.

Covid’s victims are limited to a small number of people with co-morbidities and weak immune systems who are denied treatment by known cures such as HCQ and Ivermectin. These deaths were needed and desired in order to generate fear that would stampede people into accepting an unapproved, untested experimental technology never before used, the consequences of which were unknown. We now know that the consequences include death and permanent health impairment; yet the rush to vaccinate marches forward.

Clearly, the agenda operating is not public health. The Covid virus funded by Fauci in Wuhan has brought tyranny to America, and the “vaccine” is bringing death and impaired health to millions of people.

Nah, not so much; the sad fact is, tyranny was already here. FrankenFauci and his Chinkenpox bio-weapon just helped to get it tuned up and running well, that’s all. But as we enter the final lap of our national suicide run, Max Morton sees a potential obstacle ahead for the tyrants behind the wheel.

I’m not so much worried about COVID anymore. We’ve seen it operate, built some vaccines, have a greater awareness of potential therapies to counter its effects, and our healthcare system has adapted to its risks. It’s likely COVID will join the cold and flu season as another reason to practice good hygiene and preventive medicine during infectious periods. What is particularly worrisome is the absolutely cowardly and sickening descent into authoritarianism displayed by my fellow Americans—ostensibly over this virus.

Despite the establishment’s hard sell of the COVID narrative and vaccine program, there are tens of millions of Americans who are not going to surrender control of their bodies to the state. For whatever reasons, known only to them and completely within their rights to have, they are resistant to accept the current vaccines under the current conditions.

For their dissident behavior they are being labeled as threats to public safety. The establishment’s answer to this lack of cooperation is the implementation of vaccine passports.

Quite frankly, America has enough going on right now with the woke cultural revolution and an increasingly dangerous administrative state. We don’t need a leap into full-blown fascism with vaccine passports. If you’re scared of a virus that has a 99 percent survival rate that’s fine, and well within your rights. Be as scared as you want to be. Wear a mask and stay indoors for the rest of your life if it makes you feel better.

You be you and I’ll be me. Live and let live. These are all tried and true maxims that have facilitated civil society over the years. The opposite of that is what the vaccine passport represents and is a historically dangerous path to pursue. Attempting to turn nearly a third of the population into second-class citizens so you can feel safe is suicide. Now here’s the bad news—that suicide isn’t mine—it’s yours.

BAD news? Like hell. Sounds more like damned EXCELLENT news to me. In fact, I think it’s only right that we magnanimously extend an offer of any and all necessary assistance so as to ease them along their chosen path.

All across social media there are calls to make life unlivable for those who are hesitant to accept the current crop of vaccines. There are no discussions of exceptions for naturally acquired immunity or allowing citizens to make their own health risk-assessments. The twitter blue-checks have roundly declared that these vaccine-hesitant individuals are almost all Trump supporters and selfish Republicans. The reality is a high percentage of the unvaccinated are in minority communities who harbor a justifiable distrust of the wealthy white Kens and Karens pushing vaccine conformity.

The “Our Democracy” mob is calling for a new caste society, where those who resist the woke ideology of the day are marginalized and relieved of their rights and liberties. The real trouble will start when the COVID hysterics begin impeding Americans’ ability to work, put food on the table, receive government benefits and healthcare. As PayPal co-founder David Sacks said when discussing the dangers of financial institutions blacklisting un-woke individuals and businesses—“Silenced voices and empty stomachs are fuel for the very extremism you claim to oppose.”

In a previous essay on the shortcomings of our ruling elite I noted:

There are two phrases, which taken together, probably constitute the origin of violence and conflict throughout the history of mankind. They are the imperative command “Submit,” and the responsive challenge, “Or what?” I am guessing billions have died as a result of that conversation, because the follow-on to “or what” is when the stabbing, hacking, shooting, and bombing starts. If one wishes to avoid that violence, it is best to avoid forcing that discussion.

America has never been a country where “do it because I said so” was an acceptable answer to “why?” But if you read through your social media or turn on the cable news you’re seeing and hearing the command “Submit!” in the “do what we’re telling you or we are going to make your life hard” threats. The elites are bent on forcing that discussion.

Then we should give it to them. Good. And. Hard, until WE say enough.

A numbers problem

With the Left, they never, ever add up—not in any context, not on any issue, not EVER.

The Covid 19 panic, which has been driving formerly civilized societies crazy for eighteen months, prompted the bringing-forth of The Science’s follow-up project: vaccines to stop the spread of the virus. Enter the scene, these vaxes did, like, a day-and-a-half after Covid-19 pirouetted onstage. Hmmmm. Could someone have been working on those vaxes backstage before the dread virus even premiered? Were patents issued for them pre-dating January, 2020? Seems so. But never mind that for now. The vaxes were rolled out to fanfares over a year ago and those moiling masses of America, the superfluous holders of bachelor’s degrees in Oppression Studies — for whom, sadly, the world had run-out of paying positions — lined up like kids at Santa’s throne in Macy’s on Black Sunday for their Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson jabs. Whew…! That was a close call!

Or was it? Naw, not even close, actually. Since now it turns out that the jabs don’t seem to work that well. The official story got murkier last week when the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported internally to staff (it leaked) that “fully vaccinated people might spread the Delta variant at the same rate as unvaccinated people.” Whoopsie…In a Delta variant outbreak on Cape Cod last month, three-quarters of the infected were fully vaxed-up patients. The story got darker because The New York Times, the usually-reliable mouthpiece for The Science and his allies in “Joe Biden’s” public health bureaucracy, let slip that, “The Delta variant is as contagious as chickenpox and may be spread by vaccinated people as easily as the unvaccinated.”

Wuh-oh…! A worm the size of an Amtrak Acela train has turned in the myocarditic heart of our nation’s capital. Things have changed overnight — didn’t they see it coming? — and now the government is freaking out as it appears to have some serious ‘splainin’ to do — and right on the heels, too, of an hysterical month-long campaign to persuade the remaining unvaxed millions to submit to the needle, climaxed by threatening the obdurate “hesitants” with taking away their employment and ability to participate in commerce and social life. All that sound-and-fury for what? For vaccines that don’t work… and which, quite possibly, could leave you seriously ill, even dead?

There’s one beguiling explanation I’ve heard — from Brandon Smith of Alt-Markets.us, and others — for that hysterical campaign of recent days to jab every last hold-out: the need to eliminate what’s called the “control group,” the bunch of people who, in any drug trial, are given no drug, or a fake shot (like saline), or a placebo (mindfuck agent) to see if the real thing actually works. The desperate effort couldn’t have been more idiotic, since there was no realistic hope of gulling the remaining unvaxed into getting a shot, and the effort only made the “Joe Biden” admin look even more dishonest and despotic.

This could be the beginning of the end for POTUS 46 and the Woke-Jacobin derangement he stole in on. The CDC numbers look so bad now, that Ol’ White “Joe” himself will have to step up to the mic and say something like: “We made a mistake with these vaccines. I hope you will forgive us.” Of course, he absolutely won’t rise to the occasion and say that, no way… and, anyway, the government (and POTUS 46) will not be forgiven because they’ve destroyed millions of livelihoods and tens of thousands of going businesses, and allowed a bunch of cities to get burned and trashed, and city-dwellers to be harassed and attacked by their Antifa/ BLM shock troops, and enabled roughly half the US population not-insane to be terrorized, mau-maued, and insulted by every Woke jape from the Drag Queen Reading Hour to Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 “insurrection” circus — with the janky 2020 election right in the middle.

Speaking of which election, evidence is likely to emerge soon that the numbers really don’t add up. And in a big way. The max-vax campaign may have been an attempted smoke screen for all that trouble coming down the line, but the max-vax move is obviously flopping now. And, by the way, do you suppose that the not-insane half of the nation has failed to notice that upward of half-a million people from other lands (all over the world!), many carrying Covid-19, have been jumping our border with Mexico…and that the US government has deliberately assisted them… and distributed them by bus, and even on airplanes, to distant points all over the USA…and now these government rogues have the nerve to put the squeeze on American citizens to vax up against a virus they are seeding around the country! Is it really too much to declare that this regime has got to go, and go as soon as possible?

Not at all. In fact, it’s the only reasonable conclusion an honest person can possibly reach, denied or dismissed exclusively by one of two groups: A) those who, using whatever madhouse rationalization, support the illegitimate junta; and B) those who were active participants and/or conspirators in the con-job that installed the abominable thing.

But to get back to the Left’s numbers problem—an apparently congenital defect for which there is no known cure or treatment—there’s a mighty rancid odor wafting off of those being peddled as part of the Plandemic Panic, and there has been from the very beginning.

A recent front-page headline in my local paper read as follows: “County bordering on high virus transmission rate.” A doctor with a large regional health system was concerned that the COVID-19 transmission rate had increased by 37% in one week and stated, “A transmission rate above 5% from the prior week is very scary.”

It seems useful to provide some context regarding numbers such as these, considering all the numbers being thrown around regarding COVID-19, the apparent push to create a panic over the delta variant of COVID-19, the obvious push for everyone to get vaccinated, and the fact that the United States is ranked so poorly in math and science.

The first number to be considered is the 37% increase. It certainly looked pretty bad, but percentages do not always provide an accurate picture. The county-wide cases went from 11 to 15 during the week in question, an increase of four cases. So a 37% increase does not seem to be all that concerning, given a population of over 91,000 people.

According to the doctor’s statement that a transmission rate above 5% is scary, the next thing considered was what it would take to get to that level. Going from 11 cases to 11.55 cases, something not even physically possible, would put the county in the “scary” range. Looking at something that is actually possible, going from 11 cases to 12 cases generates a 9% increase. So an increase of a single COVID-19 case would put my county well into the scary range, according to the doctor.

Percentages do not always tell the entire story.

Particularly when they’re actually being wielded as a tool to advance a hidden agenda.

I have no idea what motivated the doctor quoted in my local paper to present the information the way he did.

Oh, that’s not too hard to figure out. The doctor, as are many another amongst our “heroes” in the medical field, is a fully-paid-up member of Amerika v2.0’s shadowy, sinister Ministry of Fear.

Welcome to America, 2021. In just a few short months since the mysterious elevation of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., inexplicably elected the 46th president of the United States, our country has undergone a stunning rapid devolution from a confident, economic powerhouse to a shabby debtor nation afraid of its own shadow.

The American Ministry of Fear, however, is not located in the Chancellery of the National Socialist German Workers Party in Berlin, but in every petty federal, state, and local bureaucracy, doctor’s office, TV news station, big-city newspaper, college and university in the country.

From the start of the COVID-19 manufactured panic, these agents of influence have waged a relentless war on the American psyche. And now, despite their miniscule majorities in Congress, they rule with an iron fist that brooks no demurral.

Their initial object, of course, was the destruction of the Trump presidency. This Coalition of the Vengeful tried everything, including announcing its intention to impeach Trump even before he had finished his inaugural address.

And then came COVID. A product of the CCP virus that first materialized in Wuhan, China and then was unleashed upon an unsuspecting world, the weaponized product of both Chinese scientists working for the Chinese Communist Party and the amoral Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institutes of Health, Covid proved the perfect social and economic weapon against America. Its effect on overall health was negligible, but that was never its intention. Its purpose was to instill our very own Ministry of Fear.

In that, it succeeded spectacularly. Suddenly, every person in the country could be regarded as an infection point—and thus to be supervised, managed, and quarantined on a whim. Never mind that the danger from the virus was limited to the very elderly and the already seriously ill: a herd-cull disease familiar from thousands of years of human history.

Masks—at first discouraged, then demanded, and finally commanded—became a depressingly familiar sight, a sign of Americans’ incipient enslavement by the diktats of an unaccountable government-by-edict.

But now the neuroticism of Manhattan’s Upper West Side—the quintessential big-government, red-diaper Leftist conclave in the nation that wields its influence through the New York Times—has, like COVID, infected every aspect of a once muscular America, debilitating it and sapping it of its vitality. Not just the unwarranted fear of a disease that even at its peak killed almost nobody, but of its media-fueled “variants,” which will continue on into infinity as an excuse for despotism and oppression.

In the name of “health,” we are experiencing a monstrous evil, every bit as pernicious as the twin totalitarian catastrophes of National Socialist Germany and communist Russia during the last century—evils only finally suppressed at great cost in lives and treasure.

With the current unholy alliance between the Democrats and “woke” big businesses, what we are seeing is something akin to Italian fascism under Mussolini, in which the captains of industry (very much including social media, which at this point needs to be destroyed) work hand-in-glove with Washington in order to impose such things as speech codes and overt censorship that government alone cannot do.

Unless (the MoF) is smashed, its reign is likely to last a long time.

Smashed it will truly have to be—a difficult, dangerous, and costly job, one which lawsuits, peaceful protests, and fraudulent elections aren’t anywhere near tough enough to handle.

U.S. COVID-19 daily case tally back at February levels, and patients are getting younger as Florida records highest hospitalizations yet

So they are basing the renewed panic porn on cases generated from a test the FDA just announced was being pulled from the market because it drastically overestimates cases of Covid. I got it. Makes total sense.

So, the 7 day average of cases is about 80,000. The last time it was this high was February 17. For some perspective you won’t receive from the MSM and government drone fearmongers, cases are still down 70% from the January high. Now let’s get to the numbers they are not and will not include in their fake news articles designed to scare you into getting the jab.

Here’s the chart they want to keep hidden. Do you see the massive spike in deaths following this “surge” in cases? Look harder. It must be there. The 7 day average of deaths “with” covid is 362 in this entire fucking country of 330 million people. Do you realize we are losing .0001097% of our population per day to this dreaded disease?

For some more perspective, we were losing 599 people per day on June 1. On April 1 we were losing 893 people per day. And on February 17, when we had 80,000 cases, there were 2,709 deaths per day. So the Marketwatch bullshit story about cases surging to February highs fails to mention deaths are currently 87% below that February level.

For even more perspective, those numbers were almost certainly cooked by The Power. And just why might that be?

Renewed masking mandates, mandatory vaccine edicts by governments and corporations, and the threat of further lockdowns have nothing to do with your health or anyone else’s health. It’s the flu bro, and they have weaponized it to consolidate their control over our lives, increase their already obscene levels of wealth, and further their Great Reset agenda where you will own nothing, eat bugs, and live within an electronic gulag where all your communications will be monitored and censored if not conforming to the approved talking points.

Annnnd bingo. Oh, and did somebody mention cooked numbers just a minute ago? Well, the way the entire concept of “cases” has been rejiggered is a component of that solid suspicion, one of an ever-lengthening rotogravure of deceit and manipulation.

Regular readers have had it drummed into them that a “case”, as our Experts use that word, is not a case in the old-fashioned medical sense. Before 2020 in medicine, a case was an infected person who sought or required treatment. Today, a “case” is a positive test, a possible infection. True cases used to be separated from infections. Not anymore. Now panic rules and everything must be made to appear as bleak as possible.

So yes, something must be done for sure. But not the kind of things The Power intends, or wants.

Depressing update! Well, THIS certainly doesn’t bode well.

Washington, D.C. residents who spoke with Fox News on Monday were largely supportive of the city’s renewed mask mandate.

Mayor Muriel Bowser’s reinstated mandate, which went into effect Saturday morning, requires residents over the age of 2 to wear face masks indoors, regardless of vaccination. The order followed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines issued last week that recommend those in areas of the country with “high” or “substantial” COVID-19 transmission wear masks indoors.

“I think it’s great,” one resident told Fox News. “If people aren’t going to get vaccinated then we have to stay safe.”

Another local said: “Wear your mask indoors until they tell us to put them on again outdoors, then put them on outdoors too.”

“I just think for us to get rid of this we need to be wearing masks,” one D.C. woman told Fox News.

Others felt D.C. should go further than just requiring masks indoors.

“What they really should do is allow businesses to mandate people be vaccinated,” one resident told Fox News near Georgetown.

Another local who said he was vaccinated agreed: “We should mandate it,” he told Fox News.

So much for lines in the sand, defiance, pushback, and all semblance of Constitutional liberty and self-determination, I guess. Granted, we’re talking about only a small sampling drawn from Mordor on the Potomac itself here—the very belly of the beast, from whence the Great Darkness issues to smother all. Too, there is simply no percentage in expecting a majority in any population to be well-informed, attentive, and sturdy individuals instead of the cowardly, lowing cud-chewers most human beings really are.

But still.

The pitiful truth is that most of us on this poor blue marble don’t WANT freedom, and would never lift a finger or make the slightest effort to either secure it for themselves or defend it. On the contrary, they FEAR it, and will happily go to some lengths to see it crushed—along with a lot of other things that discomfit and shame them, like independent thought; nonconformism; personal responsibility for one’s own decisions, along with the attendant risk; and even the most piffling physical discomfort or inconvenience. Far from wishing to be left alone to run their own lives and walk their own path, they much prefer to be taken care of, micromanaged, and protected from the big, scary world they feel so intimidated by.

Moronic sheep like these piss-poor excuses for “Americans” make me want to puke, and that’s just the gott-damned long and the short of it. Our Founders, eloquent men that they were, would have found these, their benighted progeny so profoundly despicable as to be unable to express their disgust with mere words, and would have been left scratching their heads in disbelief over why they ever even bothered at all. They’d disown their doughy, pampered descendents on principle alone, and thereafter any fool who dared to even hint at familial ties with their heirs would find himself marching off the requisite twenty paces by the dawn’s early light with a dueling pistol in his hand before he could so much as say boo about it. Such a grave insult could not be borne by any man worth his salt. Honor would spur him to demand satisfaction, and he would get it, too.

Why did “Americans” lose their freedom? Because they don’t deserve it, that’s why. As many times as I’ve fretted in this space over the horror and misery to come when this struggle finally does go hot, I also must confess that the prospect of sending rounds through the empty heads of such worthless, contemptible curs DOES have its appeal.

There are not “Democrats” and “Republicans”.

There are not “Conservatives” and “Never Trumpers”.

Can we get serious?

There are Totalitarian Communists. And then, everybody else.

That group of “everybody else”? Those are Americans.

Period.

There is nothing American about Totalitarian Communism.

Never has been. Never will be.

You aren’t going to carve out enclaves of “Free America”. Because it means you’d have to cede refuges for totalitarian communism somewhere else, and nearby. Like that would ever work, once in human history. How did that go in Korea? Vietnam? Laos? Cambodia? Cuba? Venezuela? Hungary? Czechoslovakia? Poland? And countless other places? They’re never satisfied with less than everything, and once they’ve got that, they smash it to pieces while gorging at the trough themselves, and devil take everyone else. It always ends in a pyramid of human skulls, every damned time it’s tried. Fuck that idea, sideways, with a dull rusty chainsaw.

You aren’t going to pick the peas, carrots, and scrambled egg out of the fried rice, and divvy up neat little enclaves.

It’s not possible.

It’s not practical.

And no one could ever do it, in a million years.

And even if you magically could, where in hell do you think you’d put them?? No one else wants them, here nor anywhere else. You might could palm them off on Cuba, but only if they can swim there.

The only thing that will work EVER, is going to be bog-simple:

One side is going to be alive within US territory afterwards. One side is not.

That’s IT.

That’s what “existential” means.

One side is going to exist.

The other side is going to cease to exist.

If anybody is still hazy on the concept, I invite you to discuss what this looks like with the Carthaginians. Shout loud: Tunisia is a long ways off, and it’s hard to hear with six feet of dirt over your bones.

So make your decision whether you’re going to be the Romans, or the Carthaginians, in the next such struggle. It’s coming at you like a freight train, and there’s no third option if you plan to live in the U.S.

“Will we stand for freedom or sit back and embrace oppression?”

Lockdowns are coming. The Great Reset agenda is hitting its stride as world governments engage in lockdowns over the Delta Variant. Data shows it is more infectious but less dangerous than previous variants, but the fearmongers driving the narrative are treating it like an existential threat to society. In reality, THEY are the existential threat as they prepare to unleash their lockdown hysteria on the United States.

It’s coming. According to Human Events Senior Editor Jack Posobiec:

There’s a choice that will need to be made by every American in the coming weeks. Are we going to stand up and object to the unnecessary, draconian lockdowns the White House plans on unveiling shortly or are we going to hide in our homes refreshing Amazon to see if they have toilet paper in stock again?

We faced the same basic question multiple times in 2020 and failed miserably. Sure, there were op-eds and rant videos. There were Tweets and Facebook posts. There even a few protests. But for the most part American Exceptionalism was diminished as the vast majority of people sat back and tried to wait it all out.

Then, something even worse happened. We got used to it. The new normal of creeping complacency and docile acceptance of totalitarianism firmly set most Americans into a state of uselessness. We weren’t working. We weren’t being educated. We weren’t engaging in life, at least not the life we knew before the pandemic. And it stuck.

Signs of a resurgence have been on display for a few months. But while we were busy debating vaccine risks and getting distracted by fake news, the powers-that-be were plotting the next phase in their takedown of the United States. The Delta Variant became the focus of their propaganda. Properly primed, the American people are on the verge of facing another idiotic lockdown.

Many of us won’t comply, and the powers-that-be know that. They realize that what’s happening in Europe is a precursor to what will happen in the United States. They’re baiting us, and unfortunately we must take the bait. The alternative is to allow it all to happen without a fight. At least by standing up and opposing the lockdowns, we have a chance of success. Our chances improve as we add more patriotic Americans to the list of those who will stand with us and fight back.

What will all of this look like in America? Let’s look at Germany today to see what our future may hold. According to Steve Watson at Summit News:

Worldwide protests against the decimation of freedom continued this weekend, with Berlin in Germany becoming the focal point as thousands took to the streets, rising up against lockdowns and the introduction of vaccine passports in the country.

As we reported last week, authorities in Germany have indicated that unvaccinated people could be banned from cinemas and restaurants and that those who have taken the jab will have “more freedom.”

Footage from the weekend highlighted riot police fighting with protesters, pepper spraying people and even aggressively pushing around old women and children.

The AP reports that 600 people were arrested.

If you don’t think anything like that could ever happen in the United States, you probably also used to think that we would never allow domestic terrorists to burn our city without police doing a thing about it. You probably thought American citizens would not be detained indefinitely for trespassing at the Capitol Building. You probably thought the American spirit would never stand by and let tyranny reign because of a virus that has a 99.97% recovery rate for people under the age of 50.

Do NOT underestimate the willingness of those working against us to do whatever it takes to bring their nefarious agenda to bear. Do NOT overestimate the resolve of your fellow American citizens to stand up and fight against it. We need to be rallying the people now. We must be inspiring those around us to put down their Netflix and GrubHub long enough to prevent perpetual oppression from taking hold in America. It’s time to get angry.

We should have gotten angry long ago.

It speaks very poorly of us indeed that we didn’t. It isn’t too late to do so now, perhaps. But that by no means suggests that “too late” will NEVER come, or that it isn’t entirely too close at hand already. And as if on cue…

Biden Regime Announces ‘It’s Time to Impose Requirements’ on Americans to Get Experimental COVID-19 Jab
White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Jeff Zients announced on Monday that the Biden regime is moving rapidly toward mandatory vaccinations.

Zients hosted a press conference with National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Dr. Rochelle Walensky appearing behind him remotely on screens. He aggressively shilled for the administration’s coercive measures meant to promote vaccine compliance.

“Last week, the Department of Veteran Affairs announced that it will require doctors and nurses and other healthcare workers who provide medical care to our veterans to get vaccinated. This is in lockstep with many healthcare employers around the country who are requiring vaccinations,” he added.

Zients stated that it is only a matter of time before the Department of Defense (DOD) starts requiring mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for all military personnel as well. The Biden regime is also working on measures to socially isolate members of the federal workforce and subject them to degrading mistreatment in an attempt to compel them into getting vaxxed.

“The President announced that every federal government employee will be asked to attest to their vaccination status. Any federal employee who does not attest, or is not vaccinated, will be required to mask no matter where they work, get tested once or twice a week, socially distance, and generally will not be allowed to travel for work,” he said.

“We’re taking steps to apply similar standards to all federal contractors. It’s simple: If you want to do business with the federal government, get your workers vaccinated,” Zients declared.

The vaccine regime being imposed by the Biden administration in the U.S. and by authoritarian monsters in other countries is among of the worst tyrannies mankind has ever known. The globalists are playing for keeps, and the common people will have to rise up to have a chance of stopping their Machiavellian plot.

Indeed they will. The dimestore dictators are going to leave no space available to us for insisting on “peaceful” resistance, or for shying from taking ANY steps required to defend our bodily autonomy. The conciliatory and belligerent alike are being pushed into the same corner, no fine distinctions being made between them. In the view of our Masters, we have NO rights that they are bound to respect—NONE. They command, we obey—period, full stop, end of story. There can be no appeasing them, no negotiating, no compromise with them. Nothing short of our total submission will suffice.

Don’t kid yourselves: there is NO line they will not cross; NO punishment too inhuman, NO atrocity they will not cheerfully commit to secure total victory. The historical record on what extremes such “people” are capable of in the mad quest for absolute, unquestioned power could not possibly be clearer. Get it through your heads without further delay: They are utterly ruthless. We can expect neither compassion nor mercy from them. They have none to grant. Even if they did, they still wouldn’t, so blistering does their hatred for us burn.

In one particularly compelling scene, the victorious occupiers execute Americans accused of conspiring with high school rebels who have been waging guerrilla warfare. But just before the Reds open fire, the condemned patriots start singing America the Beautiful.

I thought of that when reading Julie Kelly’s account of the January 6 Mostly Peaceful Protesters, still scandalously held in solitary confinement for their political opinions, singing the National Anthem every evening [January 6 Detainees Sing the National Anthem, July 18, 2021] Except this time, the enemy isn’t the Soviets: it’s Joe Biden and his—let’s face it—de facto Communist regime.

Hate to say it and all, truly I do, but at this point it might be about time we dropped the whole National Anthem/patriotism thing. The sad, sorry truth is that it’s an anthem for a nation that no longer exists except in rose-tinted memory, and cannot be brought back. Mourning the nation they’ve stolen from us and are in the process of dismantling it even as I type this is one thing; pure nostalgia is something altogether else, and if over-indulged will serve only to blunt the edge of a perfectly honed and well-justified rage, attenuating what of right ought to be a keen appetite for retribution until it’s nothing more than flabby futility.

These political prisoners’ “Days In Court” will be Stalinist show trials, designed to signal that opponents are “terrorists” and to make clear what the Regime has in mind for the Historic American Nation: legal and political harassment, then dispossession and, ultimately, Replacement. In the eyes of many Democrat officials and Leftist pundits, the so-called attack on the U.S. Capitol was “worse than 9/11”.

But there are signs of hope.

I must say I find the “signs of hope” he cites rather, umm, underwhelming. Could be that’s just me, though.

Maybe something remains of what truly unified Americans 20 years ago, when Saudi Muslim radicals—who shouldn’t have been in the country anyway—murdered 3,000 of our countrymen:

Unfortunately, rank-and-file Democrats seem be gulled their leaders. A poll from Echelon Insights in February reported the top concerns for Democrat voters:

Donald Trump supporters: 82 percent

White nationalism: 79 percent

Systemic racism: 77 percent

In contrast, Republicans said their top concerns are illegal immigration (81 percent) then lack of support for the police, and high taxes.

Not one issue among voters of the two parties overlaps. The two sides live in different worlds—what VDARE.com has called “America” and “Anti-America.”

The question we must ask is this: At what point do we realize a coup of unimaginable proportions has occurred, and our fate might be that of the Americans in Milius’ Red Dawn?

And the question we must answer remains the same: What, if anything, is to be done about that? Because, one way or another, it WILL be answered. It’s entirely up to us to see to it that it’s an answer we can live with—literally.

I’m weary of our ruling class sending the message that your home, business, and personal safety are at the mercy of violent Demcorat-approved grievance groups, but don’t you DARE do anything that makes the aristocracy in D.C. uncomfortable.

I’m tired of hearing the Abolish the Police Party demand limitless scrutiny and aggressive defunding of the police who protect the rest of us, but unquestioning support and increased funding for the police who protect THEM. Why not protect the Capitol with social workers, huh?

There are Democrat-controlled parts of the country where theft has literally been decriminalized, and not just during Democrat-approved riots. You have to stand and watch helplessly while your business is looted every day. But the rules are different for THEIR place of business.

The entire premise of the theatrical 1/6 hearings is supposedly that further “insurrections” are a serious threat that must be proactively addressed. That is FAR more true of Democrat-approved grievance riots. They were vastly larger, deadlier, and more likely to occur again.

No group that might contemplate barging into the Capitol was given billions of dollars in funding by politicized corporations, as BLM was. None of them enjoys anything like to the political and media support of the 2020 rioters, who even got a pass from coronavirus restrictions.

The Democrat Party normalized and celebrated political violence for months before the Capitol riots. Let’s have some hearings on THAT. Let’s talk about how incredibly dangerous it is for one Party to think it has a monopoly on grievance-mongering, street theater, and violence.

Let’s also have some hearings about how one Party thinks it has a monopoly on questioning the outcome of elections. We could roll video of top Dems, including sitting officials, doing that for HOURS. You want theater? I’ll make the popcorn and bring the tapes.

I’m not really interested in hearing any Democrat, or their GOP footstools, give tearful speeches about sacred democracy while their party systematically destroys every bit of protection for our elections and wantonly undermines every outcome they don’t like.

We have every reason to fear the full power of bloated, hyper-politicized government being turned against Americans who dissent from the ruling Party. Show trials designed to establish the predicate that dissenters are potential violent terrorists are not exactly reassuring.

There is no need to excuse or valorize anything that occurred on 1/6 to be disgusted by this week’s political spectacle. Our media tells us that “context” is everything. Well, in the full context of 2020, hysterics over 1/6 are absurd and hypocritical.

You can’t say THIS city is sacred ground, but THESE cities must be abandoned to mobs and criminals as lawless wastelands. Hell, most of D.C. outside the Capitol IS a lawless wasteland. You shrieking potentates can see murder factories through your barbed wire fences.

You can’t say THESE cops are sacred avatars of law and order whose actions merit no public scrutiny or investigation, but all the rest of them are trigger-happy racists who should be micromanaged, distrusted, disarmed, defunded, and replaced by community organizers.

You can’t say THIS politicized violence is totally unacceptable and should be prosecuted unto the end of time, but THESE people are allowed to use violence and vandalism whenever they feel the system is not addressing their grievances quickly enough.

You can’t tell me the 1st Amendment must be bypassed to silence “disinformation” because it might lead to “insurrection,” while embracing media outlets that spread Hands Up Don’t Shoot lies with wild abandon, resulting in real and immediate crime and violence.

When people who spent four years role-playing as “the Resistance” against a “stolen election” suddenly start telling us dissent and resistance are treason that will be punished without mercy, we know exactly what’s going on. It’s a grim story repeated throughout human history.

By all means, let’s have universal respect for universally RESPECTABLE elections. Let’s have zero tolerance for political violence. Let every American’s property be treated with the respect afforded to a congressman’s office. These hearings obviously aren’t about that.

No, they are not. As for telling them “You can’t say…” this, that, or anydamnedthing else, well, that’s EXACTLY what they’re doing. Yes, we’d all like to see the hearings you ask for above. We’d all like to see justice done, for these and a thousand other blatantly criminal, un-Constitutional, and outright treasonous acts. We aren’t going to get it—ANY of it. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. Not if they have anything to say about it, we won’t. Which leaves us with just one question to be answered:

NOW what?
