The Amerikan Gulag claims another innocent victim

And the (in)justice system collects itself another scalp.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was sentenced on Thursday to 18 years in prison.

Rhodes was sentenced to 18 years by far-left Obama-appointed US District Judge Amit Mehta on Thursday morning who then lectured him on what a danger he was to society.

Mehta sentenced Stewart Rhodes to 18 years. Rhodes is currently 57. If the this unconstitutional conviction stands, Rhodes will be 75 when he is released.

In late November 2022, Washington DC jurors reached a guilty verdict of garbage “seditious conspiracy” charges against Stewart Rhodes in the Oath Keepers Trial.

The DC jury found EVERY SINGLE Trump supporter guilty in their disgusting and unconstitutional criminal proceedings against honest Americans who were caught up in the violence on January 6.

Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes NEVER went inside the US Capitol. He never instructed anyone to go inside the US Capitol. He was unarmed as were all of his Oath Keepers associates that day. There was no plan to enter the US Capitol. There was no scheme to take over the government with their bare hands. The prosecution was a sham. The jury was a pool of DC Communists and unhinged left-wing activists who see themselves as victims.

The Oath Keepers were in DC in January 2021 to offer security for the several rallies planned by Trump supporters on January 5th and 6th. The Oath Keepers and Proud Boys have worked security at dozens of events by conservatives, patriots, Christian groups, and Trump supporters, to protect them from organized Antifa violence. Democrats hated them for this.

To my (slight; I had held out some hope for the guy until now) disappointment, Matt Gaetz didn’t exactly cover himself in glory after this grotesque buggering of Lady Justice.

As reported earlier, conservatives were taken back on Thursday night after Rep. Matt Gaetz told a Twitter Space gathering that he was not “particularly aggrieved” after Oath Keepers founder and President Stewart Rhodes was sentenced to 18 years in prison for alleged seditious conspiracy and “terrorism” on January 6, 2021.

Rep. Matt Gaetz said, “He stood before a jury. They had every Constitutional privilege afforded defendants. They were found guilty of seditious conspiracy and if they were trying seriously to overthrow the government, 1.) they’re idiots. 2.) They had no chance, and 3.) they probably deserve some punishment. I thought that the sentences would be less than they were, so I was a bit surprised by the duration but I wasn’t particularly aggrieved by them.”

Which cruel indifference to seeing a blameless man’s life upended and destroyed makes you either despicably complicit or a goddamned fool then, Mr Gaetz. Sorry, but try as I might I can descry no third option here. On the up-side, though, Gaetz has just revealed precisely who and what he really is with his statement, for all who have eyes to see.

“Every Constitutional privilege afforded defendants”? To quote an especially repulsive DC termagant, are you serious? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? My God, it would be laughable if it were in any way funny. Stewart fires back at the loathsome Swamp creature:

Stewart’s first reaction was to bring up a prior comment by Gaetz, who was curious as to why Stewart had not yet been indicted following the Jan. 6 protests. Stewart was indicted on January 12, 2022, over a year after the January 6 protests.

“I think he’s probably got egg on his face now [Matt Gaetz] because obviously, turns out I was not a Fed,” said Stewart.

“It took them a year to cook up their fake evidence against me, coerced confessions and threatened people. A year in prison to coerce your plea bargains. It took them a long time to finally get around to indicting me because I didn’t go inside.”

That’s because you’ve just been railroaded, rogered, and boned up the ass by the Deep State megalith, without even the benefit of a courtesy reacharound.

“So now I think he has egg on his face. Now he wants to minimize that by saying, well, these people probably weren’t guilty. We are innocent. We are only guilty like I said in my sentencing statement, I’m only guilty, like President Trump, of opposing those who are destroying our country.”

“And I have been opposing them by free speech for 15 years now since our Oath Keepers. That’s what I’ve done. And everything I’ve done has been honorable. And everything that the Oath Keepers has done has been honorable.”

Stewart added, “I’m not sure why he said that, but he needs to take a good hard look at where we are and what has been done to, not just us, but other people. What’s going to be done – to stop the insurrection against the entire MAGA movement? To call us all insurrectionists, all racists, all fascists, all of us anti-democratic. When they say democracy, we are not a democracy, we’re a constitutional (re)public. But what they really mean is our power. So when Biden says they are a threat to democracy, what it really means is they are a threat to our power.

He added, “Matt (Gaetz), he needs to either retract (or) fix that.”

I wouldn’t be holding my breath waiting for it if I were you, Stewart. But fuck Matt Gaetz sideways. Again: next time one of these “seditious conpiracy” groups decides to try their hand at overthrowing the manifestly illegitimate Amerika v2.0 tyranny, they need to remember to bring the guns along with ‘em.

All bold above Hoft’s, not mine, aporopos of little if anything. Dave Renegade adds:

A black man who was ineligible to run for the office of the United States Presidency is “elected”. He was “selected” in his reelection. His appointed judge in Washington, D.C. who was born in India sentences a patriot to 18 years in prison for trying to restore the Republic. Stewart Rhodes was correct: he should have brought firearms. He will be paying a high price for yet another FBI setup.

If the judge had any knowledge of the founding of our Republic, he would know that Democracy is the antithesis of the foundation of our nation. What he actually stated is that the founding fathers were a threat to the United States since the overthrow of the Republic in the 2020 election usurpation.

As more of the government’s malfaisance is uncovered, the more desperate they will become. I believe that they will physically come for people who spoke out against tyranny and supported our founding principles. Come to terms with what that means because you will not have much time to decide when they come to your door.

“They will physically come for people…” Not to pile on, heckle, or slam ya in any way, Dave, but that’s exactly what they’ve done to the J6 Gulagees, is it not? Not will, not at all—HAVE, more like.

NEW JERSEY NABS TWELVE YEAR OLD WHITE SUPREMACIST DOMESTIC TERRORIST!

First, the story behind the headline.

BREAKING: New Jersey Has Enacted the Largest Gun Ban in US History
Our friends at Ammoland, who are based in the gun rights hell that is New Jersey, have uncovered what appears to be a little-known aspect of a gun control law that passed and was signed into law last June. They’ve just published an article by attorney Evan Nappen who has read the law closely and discovered that — intentionally or not — it’s actually the biggest gun ban ever enacted in these here United States.

The bill was ostensibly intended to outlaw firearms without serial numbers. It banned homemade guns, 3D printed guns, even possession of the files for running a 3D printer or CNC machine for making firearms. It even outlawed slingshots, fer Chrissakes.

Like so many laws that are enacted at all levels of government, this one was poorly written. And as a result, it’s incredibly broad.

I talked to Mr. Nappen this afternoon and he tells me the law is quite clear that for a firearm to be legal in New Jersey, it has to have a serial number and the serial number must have been imprinted by a federally licensed firearm manufacturer.

That means your Daisy BB gun — which under the state’s expansive and idiotic gun control laws is actually considered a firearm — may have a serial number on it, but Daisy isn’t a federally licensed gun maker. As a result that Red Ryder in your kid’s closet now makes you a felon.

By declaring non-firearms to be “firearms” under Joisey law, well, you don’t have to be a superdupergenius to see what comes next.

New Jersey State Police arrest young felon

12 year old Ralphie Parker has been remanded into custody to await trial on seventeen felony charges relating to firearms and domestic terrorism, NJ authorities have announced.

Photos of the young gunslinger both before and after his arrest were released to the press:

Yikes!
The terrorist brandishing his deadly fully-semi-automatic assault-weapon gun before being apprehended

The next picture shows the dangerous terrorist just before he was handcuffed by NJSPD officers:

Ain’t so fat and sasssy now, are ya kid?

Due to the extremely serious nature of his multiple crimes, Parker is being held without bond in solitary confinement within the Security Threat Group Management Unit at Newark’s Northern State Prison.

Poor Ralphie, he never knew what hit him. Turns out, shooting his eye out was the very least of his worries.

Diesel rules

God help us all if all the truckers finally realize just how much power they have over this faltering NiNO (Nation in Name Only), and decide to start exercising it.

Honestly, I kind of look forward to it, in a way.

HIGHWAY TO HELL
Trucks run America. Heavy trucks move the stuff we buy and sell along the largest highway network in the world. They clean our streets, control our disasters, fight our fires, and rush to our rescue during emergencies.

In the medium-heavy (Class V-VIII) truck world, trucks fall into two categories: “On Highway,” the trucks you see pulling trailers across the country, and “Vocational”, the dump trucks, cement mixers, ambulances, fuel trucks and a dozen other variations that keep every town in this country operating. Most these are powered by diesel. Diesel engines are ideal for commercial purposes, being more reliable, more durable, and with better fuel economy than gasoline. Over 99% of all trucks working in America today have diesel engines. Without these, nothing moves. Not food, not goods, not our industry, and certainly not our economy.

California, as usual, is leading the “Green” charge. This month, the California Air Resources Board voted 14-0 to pass a law that will ban the sale of diesel trucks in California by 2036. The board warned citizens that “the time for putting public health second to the economy is over.” The new law also stipulates that all trucks operating in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach (home of 50% of US foreign trade) must be zero emission by 2030.

“Putting public health second to the economy”—oh, how I love that line. Tell me, genius, how healthy you think we’re gonna be when the food stops coming in, medical supplies and prescription meds become unavailable at any price, and nobody can buy any of it anyway because they lost their jobs when the economy goes kerblooey? Stupid shitlib doesn’t seem to realize that the two are inextricably linked; when the one goes pear shaped, the other will be drastically impacted, and not for the better either. Every. Single. Time.

As the bumper sticker says: if you have it, a truck brought it. It’s as true now as it ever was, representing a hard, implacable reality in which residents of California will soon be getting an up close and personal schooling when your moronic PC folly kicks in fully and long-haul truckers begin to refuse to go to the Golden State, no matter how much they’re offered to do so.

America is a behemoth. The United States faces logistical challenges greater than that of any nation in history. The distance from Los Angeles to Washington DC is roughly the same distance as Madrid to Moscow. Despite some local attempts to regionalize food production, feeding Americans is still a national effort. The ability to transport food, medicine, and spare parts across the vast American continent can only be achieved by trucks. Highway trucks move 75% of the nation’s freight from city to city, and from region to region. Everything you buy, everything you eat, and every medicine you take has at least one truck involved in the transportation chain.

Truck manufacturers don’t have the technology to replace diesel engines with equally capable zero-emission engines, nor the production capacity to replace the soon to be illegal diesel engines. The United States also does not have the electrical infrastructure to support that many Lithium Ion Battery vehicles. For decades we have depended on these engines to sustain us, and they have not failed.

Which is probably what shitlibs hate the most about them: they simply work, far better than any other technology humanity has ever come up. There’s a reason, after all, that the world abandoned windmills, electric vehicles, and solar power a century or more ago: those outdated, primitive technologies are incapable of powering a First World economy.

Instead of making what works better, we are about to attempt to replace all of them with vehicles that are four times the cost, but only capable of doing a quarter of the work…at best. Large fleets are already slowing, and in some sectors companies are cancelling existing “green” orders in favor of procuring diesel engines while they still can. CEO’s are doing the math, and recognizing that virtue signaling is not worth bankruptcy. But the damage may already be done.

When we think of military vehicles, we imagine tanks and jets, but logistics is what wins wars. For every tank, there are a half dozen support vehicles. Fuel tankers, runway sweepers, water trucks, and wreckers are all bought commercially off the shelf from civilian truck manufacturers. Every vehicle the military buys needs to be capable of running JP8 fuel: a high sulfur fuel, which simplifies military supply requirements and enables military vehicles to run on even the dirtiest local fuel sources. Government mandated changes to emissions have created a technology gap between the civilian and military markets. Sensors in modern trucks can no longer survive with high amounts of sulfur in JP8, and so manufacturers have begun to stop making trucks capable of running on a JP8 engine.

Progressives don’t want solutions that avoid a collapse.

Annnnnd BINGO, we have ourselves a correct answer, folks!

The ongoing logistical nightmares caused by the government’s response to COVID-19 is just a prelude to the horrors of this potential future. Factories that can’t get enough components, hospitals that can’t get repair parts on time for life-saving equipment, crops dying in the field while the people starve…That’s where we’re heading.

Yep—because that’s where the idiot Left is pushing us, whether we will  or no. When you get down to the nutcutting of almost every problem, impasse, or issue, no matter what it might involve on the surface, that’s what it always comes down to. What we have here is not a diesel problem, an economic problem, nor even a climatic one; we have a Leftist problem, plain and simple. Until we’ve dealt with that fundamental issue, unequivocally and forcefully, all the others and more will continue to plague us.

(Via WRSA)

First thing we do, let’s ban All The Things

Why we can’t have nice things anymore.

‘The Wrong Side Of History’ Is The One With Air Conditioning, Dishwashers, And Gas Stoves
These campaigns unfurl the same way every time. Leftists float some outrageous invasion into personal freedom in the name of stopping climate change or enhancing safety. When conservatives react with indignation, the media gaslights the country, casting critics as a reactionary cabal itching to start a “culture war.”

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but you know, I still maintain that a Biden appointee to the Consumer Product Safety Commissioner, Richard Trumka Jr., probably told Bloomberg News that gas stoves were a “hidden hazard” and “any option is on the table,” and then argued that the state could ban anything that “can’t be made safe” — which includes ladders, bikes, candy bars, cars, forks, desks, bathtubs, and televisions, and so on.

Oh, stop being such a hysteric; no one is going to take away your straws or light bulbs or combustible engines.

“No, Biden Is Not Trying to Ban Gas Stoves,” the New York Times assured its readers. The GOP “freak out” over the government “coming for your gas stoves” was “outright nonsense,” explained MSNBC’s Chris Hayes. Though, they all argue, gas stoves are basically mini Chernobyls that are killing your children as we speak — especially minority children. All the pseudoscience says so. And if you disagree, you might be one of those “Gas Stove Denialists.”

“Gas stoves became part of the culture war in less than a week,” added NPR. “How Gas Stoves Became the Latest Right-Wing Cause in the Culture Wars,” explained Time Magazine. The Washington Post claimed that the “GOP thrusts gas stoves, Biden’s green agenda into the culture wars.” The “culture war” can never be instigated by leftists suddenly shifting societal norms but only by social conservatives who pick needless fights over piddling, long-decided issues.

As Axios noted, gas stoves had become the “Right’s new fight,” which was somewhat confusing considering “the Right” didn’t bring up gas stoves in the first place. But the natural state of the world — the inevitable evolutionary finale of any policy debate — resides on the left. The speed of progress merely hinges on compelling the knuckle-draggers to see the light.

Ahh, but you didn’t really think they’d stop with just gas stoves, did you?

As Christian Britschgi in Reason points out, the Biden administration “has proposed tightening energy efficiency standards for 16 product categories, including many home appliances. The DOE has opened or finalized rules on microwave ovens, normal ovens, refrigerators, and laundry machines in just the last few months.” The Biden administration’s counterintuitive policy initiatives ensure that you’ll be compelled to buy crappier appliances at higher prices.

A-yup. All things, please note, that Whypeepuh dreamed up, engineered, and made a reality. Meanwhile, the Leftard Red Wreckers can do nothing, invent nothing, create nothing except chaos, destruction, and general human misery. And they’ll never, ever forgive us for that.

RAILROADED!

Justice in Amerika v2.0, she dead as the proverbial doornail.

Proud Boys Found Guilty of Seditious Conspiracy
Will Donald Trump be next?

Place your bets, if you dare. I don’t care to, myself. In fact, one might be forgiven for thinking of the Proud Boys’ sham “trial” as a sort of test run, clearing the decks for them to go after Trump next.

After six days of deliberation, jurors convicted Enrique Tarrio, Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, and Zachary Rehl of seditious conspiracy and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding. The jury deadlocked on those two counts for a fifth defendant, Dominic Pezzola. All five were found guilty of obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to prevent an officer from discharging any duties, obstruction of law enforcement during a civil disorder, and one count of destruction of government property.

Pezzola was found guilty of assaulting or impeding law enforcement and robbery. (He took a police riot shield during the melee.) Jurors are still debating additional counts related to destruction of property and assaulting law enforcement; it’s unclear how Judge Tim Kelly will instruct the jury to proceed on unresolved charges.

Think so, do ya? I find your naïveté at this late stage of the game quite charming, Jules.

Jury deliberations began April 26; the nearly four-month trial was marred by controversy, including last-minute disclosures of numerous FBI informants; open hostility between the judge and defense attorneys; the accidental discovery of explosive messages between FBI agents discussing deleted evidence, a doctored report, and the surveillance of attorney-client jailhouse communications; multiple sightings in evidence of the still-uncharged Ray Epps; a convoluted appellate ruling on the legitimacy of a key charge in the case; and suspicions of a jury stalker.

Until 2022, no American had been convicted of the post-Civil War statute. But Joe Biden’s Justice Department seized on the law’s vague language—the same manner in which top officials weaponized an untested post-Enron evidence tampering felony—to criminalize political dissent. Six members of the Oath Keepers were found guilty of seditious conspiracy at two separate trials and four other defendants, including one member of the Proud Boys, have pleaded guilty to the offense. Both seditious conspiracy and obstruction of an official proceeding are felonies punishable by up to 20 years in prison each.

Most of the government’s evidence consisted of inflammatory text messages posted in group chats, which included the presence of an unknown number of FBI informants. No defendant was accused of bringing weapons to the Capitol or assaulting a police officer. Tarrio, the group’s leader, was in a Baltimore hotel on January 6, having left Washington under court order following his arrest on January 4, 2021 for an unrelated incident.

The oversight of not bringing guns along to the “insurrection” was a bad, bad mistake indeed—an error most grievous, which should certainly not be repeated next time around. If any.

“Nobody is coming for your gas stove”

Except, of course and as usual, when they are.

New York Becomes First State to Pass Legislation Banning Use of Natural Gas for Heating and Cooking
The Biden Regime said reports claiming they were seeking to ban gas stoves was a conspiracy theory.

Chuck Schumer went out of his way to chastise those concerned saying, “Nobody is taking away your gas stove.”

Although Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm mocked the millions of Americans concerned about the federal government’s plans to put restrictions on gas stoves, she admitted the Biden Regime wants to ban “some” gas stoves.

Now, New York State is banning the use of natural gas for heating and cooking in some new buildings.

According to The New York Times, “The provisions will require new buildings to be constructed with only electric hookups for appliances and utilities beginning in 2025. The law will go into effect for buildings with fewer than seven stories beginning in 2026. The requirements will kick in for taller buildings by 2029.”

Gonna be veddy interesting to find out where they think the electricity to power those new appliance hookups is going to come from—especially once the millions—hundreds of millions, that is—of mandatory EVs start being plugged in for the hours of intensive re-juicing necessary to move the useless fire hazards more than forty feet. Before they, y’know, explode, then burn your house to the ground.

Unavailable for comment at presstime were all those “avid lifelong hunter” D卐M☭CRATs who absotively, posilutely aren’t coming for your guns.

The “climate change crisis” is STILL the bunk

And it always will be.

1540 Experts Agree There Is No Climate Emergency
There is no climate emergency. As I have been saying for years, the climate change agenda to end fossil fuels is merely a fraudulent cause intended to gain power. The Global Climate Intelligence Group (CLINTEL) is an independent foundation founded in 2019 by emeritus professor of geophysics Guus Berkhout and science journalist Marcel Crok. “The climate view of CLINTEL can be easily summarized as: There is no climate emergency.” Over 1540 experts respected in their independent fields have joined CLINTEL to spread the message that there is no scientific data to indicate that climate change is political propaganda.

“Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific. In particular, scientists should emphasize that their modeling output is not the result of magic: computer models are human-made. What comes out is fully dependent on what theoreticians and programmers have put in: hypotheses, assumptions, relationships, parameterizations, stability constraints, etc. Unfortunately, in mainstream climate science most of this input is undeclared.

To believe the outcome of a climate model is to believe what the model makers have put in. This is precisely the problem of today’s climate discussion to which climate models are central. Climate science has degenerated into a discussion based on beliefs, not on sound self-critical science. We should free ourselves from the naïve belief in immature climate models. In future, climate research must give significantly more emphasis to empirical science.”

We MUST question why governments across the world are fighting tooth and nail to eliminate fossil fuels and our way of life as we know it. Why are we following the World Economic Forum’s 2030 agenda to save a planet that does not need saving? Why are we allowing our elected officials to spend endless funds on an imaginary cause? Everything has a cycle, including the weather. So while the climate may be changing, there is absolutely nothing humans can do to alter the course of nature, and those stating otherwise are lying.

1540 experts, pshaw. In Amerika v2.0, they’re the wrong experts according to TPTB, so you should just ignore ‘em. Alternatively, you could take Bayou Pete’s advice:

So, when you hear politicians and pressure groups demanding that we sacrifice this, or that, or the other, in the name of “climate change”…remember that they’re all lying through their teeth.

Yup, that’s about the size of it—whether the lies issue from the yaps of “elected” officials, bureaucrats, “experts,” or the gooberment’s bought-and-paid-for “scientists,” we’d all do well to consider the source before swallowing a single word of the snake-oil they’re peddling. Need more proof? Howzabout this, then, in commemoration of *gag puke* Earth Day:

Bald Hedgehogs and Witch Executions: Remembering Earth Day’s List of Promised Calamities
Hello everyone! Allow me to wish you a joyous Happy Earth Day!

This means, of course — because this is an environmentalist national holiday, after all – that there is nothing at all happy or joyous about today because we need to focus solely on doom and the promise of our demise. Hey, don’t scream at me; this is the consensus of the scientific community.

Welllllll — in actuality, it is really more the consensus of the media covering the scientific community — but this is serious stuff! So long as you don’t analyze their claims, that is. This is because in the mad rush to report on anything and everything that can be connected to planetary calamity, they do not exactly do the research.

Why is so much of the “settled science” data so contradictory? I may be more open to these claims on which scientists are all on the same page if they did not keep offering up pages of conflicting promises.

Let’s start with those sharks I mentioned earlier. Recall how they will be attacking us more frequently? We are also told they will be attacking us less, as a result of global warming. Or, climate change. This only sends us down a long and winding path of unsettled certainty with global alterations. Basically, we see that when science reaches a fork in the road the answer is “Take it.”

Let us look at the effects on our beaches. AGW will make the oceans saltier; also, it will lead to the oceans becoming lower in sodium at the same time. The change in climate is promised to make ocean waves much bigger. It is also having a negative impact by making the waves…uh, well much smaller. Also, global warming is going to have a diminishing effect on coral reefs. The good news is something will help the reefs grow; global warming.

Part of the reason we’ll be heating up is due to an increase in clouds which will have heat-trapping effects. Another reason we’ll be heating up is there will be fewer clouds, no longer trapping heat but we will roast in the sunlight. UNLESS – that increase in clouds will reflect that sunlight and shade the planet. OR, we’ll see a decrease in clouds altogether…which means they will NOT be trapping the heat…nor will they reflect the sun, which is either bad or good, depending. Truthfully, when it comes to discussing climate change, just avoid any mention of clouds at all; you will just make the doomsday prophets cranky.

Obviously, as we heat up it means there will be less snow, but that means fewer avalanches. Except, we are also promised mountain regions will also experience more avalanches. Not sure how the math works out on that one. Probably best to just hope for the best.

No no no NO; yer doin’ it wrong, see. You should all be scared to death, or at least out of your wits. Because after all, fearful, witless sheep are much easier to herd, corral, and above all, shear.

Many, many supporting links salted throughout that last excerpt, of which you should read the all, including as it does a huge selection of doomsday predictions which failed to pan out that I hadn’t heard of before.

The ever-unpopular Ron DeSantis

Looks like maybe Uniparty DC didn’t care for the cut of his jib.

D.C. Uniparty declares DeSantis Man Bad
“We don’t like his personality!” they seethe.

The Uniparty corporate media machine is launching a new series of attacks against Florida’s governor, after recent polls show that he may present the greatest threat to a second Biden term at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

During his time in Congress, Governor Ron DeSantis didn’t go out of his way to befriend Washington, D.C. Swamp Creatures, and unsurprisingly, that means he doesn’t have glowing reviews within The Swamp.

There appears to be a coordinated line of attacks going after the governor’s personality, which serves as an attempted distraction from his overwhelmingly supported record in office.

On Friday, D.C. establishment website Politico ran with the headline: “How to lose friends and alienate people, by Ron DeSantis.”

In the piece, former Swamp Creature rep Dave Trott (R-MI), who maintained a 49% (F) Heritage Action voting record, ranted to the corporate press that DeSantis does not like to schmooze with fellow lawmakers and their corporate lobbyist friends. Trott was infuriated by the fact that DeSantis did not appear interested in spending the time to get to intimately get to know the Washington, D.C. Beltway class.

On Thursday, The New York Times, a far-left blog based in Manhattan, ran a piece with similar themes.

Lots of recent stories have criticized DeSantis as too introverted, unwilling to talk to corporate media reporters, and uninterested in fashion. This Florida Man has the chutzpah to both ignore them and not care about what they think. The audacity!

Well, good, fine by me. All the more reason for Da Guv to stay where’s at, in Tallahassee, where he’s actually been able to do some good. And despite all the ongoing whoopjamboreehoo about an “imminent” announcement that he’s throwing his hat into the 2024 ring circle-jerk, I note once again, with great relief, that DeSantis still has yet to utter Word One about any such.

Keep it up exactly the way you’ve been doing, Ron. Let them fill your campaign war-chest with their money, sure. Let them blibber, babble, and “speculate” all they like. Let them wriggle, weasel, shuck and jive. Let them carry on with all the usual maneuvering and manipulation. But don’t let yourself be seduced by them, I beseech you. For many of us who support you fully and firmly now, that would be a deal-breaker for sure.

As FLA gov, DeSantis has accomplished many good and worthwhile things, taking the Culture War battle to The Enemy in a way that only a governor can. As president, he won’t be allowed to accomplish a gott-damned thing; assuredly, TPTB will see to that. So let them have it then, and straight to hell with them all. Lay down with such as they, and all any putative dissident will ever get up with is the blasted fleas.

If there ever is to be a genuine political counterrevolution, it must be launched from the State Houses, not the White House. In the end, even a man possessed of as gargantuan, as overwhelming a personality as Trump’s still couldn’t get it done, except as a strictly temporary thing. So why would any more modest soul even bother trying? Better to play a winnable game than to wastefully expend time and effort on a futile, preemptively-rigged one.

And THEN what?

VDH, bless his poor old heart, recites a long litany of stuff we knew already.

Indict One—And All?
Were the opposition to match tit-for-tat these Democratic means, then the republic would not survive.

Ummm, Victor ol’ buddy ol’ pal, hate to have to be the one to break this to ya and all, but…IT DIDN’T.

It is the revolutionary Left that attacks institutions deemed unhelpful for its current political agenda—one that rarely warrants 50 percent public approval—whether that effort is defined by threats of ending the filibuster, scrapping the Electoral College, adding two more states, packing the court, or radically changing balloting laws and customs to turn elections into a 70 percent no-show of voters on Election Day.

And so on and so forth, etc etc fucking etc. We know what they’ve done, we know why they did it, we know what they’re liable to do next, we know what they hope to accomplish by it; in sum, we know all anyone should ever need to know about them. Happily, Bayou Peter understands the pointless futility of these endless recapitulations—that the only pertinent question at this late date is what, if anything, is to be done about it.

It’s a persuasive argument. If conservative and middle America were to say “So far and no further”, the progressive left would erupt in demonstrations, violence and anarchy, seeking to impose their will by intimidation. Sadly, a great many Americans would be cowed by such uprisings, and prefer to back down rather than risk what might come from such confrontations.

Of course, the only way forward – the only way to stop such progressive machinations – is to accept that risk, and stop them in their tracks. That means accepting the necessity to answer in kind: to meet provocation with resistance, to answer violence with violence. There’s no other way to do it. Gandhi’s non-violent solution worked in India, in a colonial situation, but he wasn’t facing an opponent that welcomed violence and embraced it as a political and social strategy. We are.

Christians, in particular, are going to have to harden their hearts in this regard. It’s very easy to say that we should turn the other cheek, as Christ commanded: but in this case, if we do that, they’ll rip it off, along with the first cheek we turned. The progressive left knows no other approach except intimidation and dominance. Anything less is seen as weakness. That’s why they’ve made so much progress, and they have every intention of continuing their progress until all resistance is at an end.

It’s time to stop them…if necessary, by using their own tactics against them. To begin with, that can be to use the same legal tactics against them that they’ve used against us. If they take that to the next level, well, we can do that too—and we must, or be steamrollered by those with everything at stake and absolutely no inhibitions of conscience.

Precisely, indubitably so. I’ll say this much: if stooping to adopting their own tactics is the absolute worst thing we have to do to end this, we can count ourselves fortunate indeed. Evergreen rerun:

That one ain’t ever getting old. Would that there might come a day when we can all look fondly back on it as no longer immediately relevant, just another well-written and skillfully-acted scene from a fine old movie—as a piece of classic cinema, not an imperative, a most urgent call to arms.

America under indictment

There are indictments, and then there are, y’know, indictments.

The Indictment of America
Theoretically a grand jury has indicted President Trump, but in truth the indictment is of the American regime itself.

Like all of us, Donald Trump is a flawed man, but he has become a symbol to those who vested him with a sacred trust. He was made president by us to lead our nation. He fulfilled his part of that bargain, as far as he was able. But too late. The government we asked him to administer was already too corrupt to allow him to do the job, lest they themselves be held to account. Now his persecution for doing what voters asked him to do is breaking the very covenant of government under which we live.

The political drift of the last 100 years has, with a few brief exceptions, been toward authoritarian rule. With the subversion of the English Common Law that had been our foundation, the last bastion of the Republic has fallen. The why and how are worth considering, but the “what” is now before us.

Nancy Pelosi gave away the game (yet again) last week when she said that President Trump had every right to “prove his innocence,” a sentiment applauded by her fellows, who share a total lack of understanding of just how this reverses the presumption of innocence as well as the foundational direction of our nation. When she tore up the president’s State of the Union speech behind his back after he spoke, it was enough to make her sense of the world clear. Her haughty response to a question about the details of the Affordable Care Act—“we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it”—was another. And her mocking laughter in the face of a query about the constitutionality of Obamacare was still another.

A grand jury in New York City has indicted President Trump, but this is problematic. The allegations against him are unworthy of grand jury attention, even after the penalties for these so-called crimes were increased, post facto, from potential misdemeanors to felonies by the wave of a single judicial hand. Laws are now made that way, as if by magic, and not by legislatures as the Constitution once demanded. We are now ruled by men, not laws, and the struggle for power amongst them will ruin us.

Correction: HAS ruined us, plainly. Covering bases that may not have occurred to you, chock-a-block with historical detail, if you only read one essay discussing the Trump indictment—as heinous, sordid, and despicable a sham as ever has been perpetrated—it should definitely be this one. As good as it is, no mere excerpt could possibly do it justice.

What’s to like, really?

Life in the nascent Woke dystopia they’re building for us.

Will you like what’s coming?
At the rate things are going, we’d better start preparing for life under perpetual Democrat or Uniparty governance. Hare are just a few points to ponder about what that life might be like. Feel free to share with Woke family and friends.

Do you like the dark, i.e. living in the dark and carrying flashlights and candles after the sun goes down? You’d better because there will be lots of opportunity once Uniparty-induced brownouts and blackouts take hold because of our power grid’s inability to supply dependable power as the war on fossil fuels takes hold. Exaggerated? Read about California in the last 20 years.

Do you like extreme heat in your house in the summer? See above. Beware of living in the Southeast. This is how the Uniparty will play nasty against its most geographically identifiable opposition. Get screens for your windows. NOW.

Do you like extreme cold in your house in the winter? See above. By the way, don’t depend on firewood. They’ll ban it. CO2, you know.

Do you like to save money for your future and your family’s? Do you realize how very selfish that is? Do you have a preferred bank or stock market in mind that may not be subject to the Winds of Wokism, and its ensuant incompetence? Will your rate of savings ever exceed the future rate of inflation/money printing?

Do you think you’d rather just buy a hard tangible asset like gold? Do you realize that your government once outlawed gold ownership 100 years ago, forcing even average citizens to hand it over?

Do you like to eat? Do you like your kids to eat, and not have malnutrition? Guess what our country has depended on for over a century to bring its crops to market? (Hint: CO2.)

Do you like to see your kids maimed or killed in endless wars? It’s no use saying that won’t happen when the whole world is united by the current blend of fascism/socialism. Read the novel 1984. It’s the best expose ever of endless, revolving war.

Do you like living in a house with a backyard for your kids to play in? Did you ever read about the Obama administration’s plans for future American housing? It’s already being put in place in California.

Plenty more at the link, all of it depressing as hell, all of it fully supported by the historical record. And then, as so often happens, it fizzles out at the very end.

Depending on how you answered these questions, you’ll know whether you’re ready to live in the Democrats’ brave new world or if you’re willing to go to the polls in the first half of 2024 to vote for the best Republican candidate in the primaries, and then to show up at the polls again in November, even if your candidate didn’t win, to slow the seemingly inevitable Democrat tide.

Uh huh. You just go right on telling yourself that Voting Harderer!™ at them will suffice to head off what’s coming at us. As if the Demican/Republicrat Uniparty goons give a moist fart what you think about their plans for you, or how you might “vote” in the next rigged fortified “election.” This, mind, after previously including this telling item:

Do you feel voting is good, and that your vote is meaningful? Have you read about the election of 2020? Do you know who Katie Hobbs or John Fetterman are?

And is there any evidence whatsoever to suggest that anything has changed since then? Or since the 2022 “election,” for that matter?

Thou fool. Pathetic, truly pathetic.

A near-miss is still a miss

Hinderaker gets close, but just misses.

No doubt Trump will get a political bump in the short term, but what if the case is still going on when the primary season begins? Will Republican primary voters really want to nominate a candidate who is in the midst of a criminal proceeding that theoretically could send him to jail? I don’t know.

But I do know that today is an evil day in America’s history. The Democrats are behaving like a party from a pre-Enlightenment, pre-constitutional era. Seeing themselves in the driver’s seat, they are making a naked grab for totalitarian power across a broad range of issues and institutions. Indicting a former president on frivolous grounds is shocking, but it is of a piece with the strategies Democrats are following in Washington and across the country.

Emphasis mine. Actually, they’re behaving like an immune-from-consequences Ruling Class Uniparty operating in a post-Constitutional era in which Enlightenment ideals such as individual self-determination, moral rectitude, equality under the law, and the consent of the governed have been—like the Constitution itself—not merely dismissed and forgotten as irrelevant historical artifacts of no substantive interest, but actively flung down and danced upon. Which, in Amerika v2.0, they’re one hundred percent true and correct about. Wolf Howling gets a bit closer still, but in the end also misses the salient point.

Our Constitution and the laws of this nation are nothing more than words on a page. They were written for a people who operated in good faith. There is no more good-faith to be had in progressive America. There are now two classes of Americans. You are either a progressive ideologue operating above the law, or you are a person below the protections of the law and the Constitution.

District Attorney Alvin Bragg has led a grand jury to indict Donald Trump on 30 felony counts, seemingly all without any reasonable basis in the law. Bragg has, with his wholly political persecution of Donald Trump, led our nation across the Rubicon. The last time this literally happened, Rome fell into Civil War and the Roman Republic came to an end. The last time something of this magnitude metaphorically happened in colonial America, the Brits were marching to Concord with orders to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock for treason. How did that work out?

Quite well for the liberty-minded, of course. The problem we have is that today, there is nary an Adams (either John or Samuel), Hancock, Jefferson, or Washington in sight. Whether there still exists a stout Three Percent of “rough men” standing ready to “do violence on our behalf” remains to be seen.

The rest of Wolf’s post is well worth a look, including among other items a brace of highly amusing memes from the prophets at the Babylon Bee.

No laughing matter

The Federal Government Is Our Enemy: Meme Maker Doug Mackey Found Guilty of Conspiracy Against Rights

We knew politicians and bureaucrats in the Justice Department couldn’t take a joke, but now we know they’re willing to prosecute people over it.

Political meme-maker Douglass Mackey, known on Twitter as “Ricky Vaughn,” has been convicted for election interference in federal court. According to the Justice Department’s press release:

Douglass Mackey, also known as “Ricky Vaughn,” was convicted today by a federal jury in Brooklyn of the charge of Conspiracy Against Rights stemming from his scheme to deprive individuals of their constitutional right to vote. The verdict followed a one-week trial before United States District Judge Ann M. Donnelly. When sentenced, Mackey faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Mackey had Tweeted memes calling for voters to text “Hillary” to a number on their cell phone instead of voting in person or by mail. Any reasonable person would see this as an unambiguous joke; anyone stupid enough to think they could vote in a presidential election by text clearly doesn’t hold their vote in a high enough regard to verify before acting.

According to The Post Millennial:

The Department of Justice alleged that this constituted election interference, despite being unable to provide evidence that anyone was deceived by the meme. Mackey argued that he was simply trying to create a viral meme, and that other Clinton supporters had posted similar memes encouraging Trump supporters to vote by text without consequence.

“This wasn’t about changing votes. This was about vaporizing votes, making them disappear,” said Assistant US Attorney Turner Buford. “The number was real and set up to receive incoming messages. The release of these fake campaign ads was timed to flood the internet before Election Day.”

Mackey posted the memes on November 1, a week before the election, and Frisch said that the meme’s message was “ludicrous to anyone with a basic knowledge of how presidential elections work,” the New York Daily Mail reported.

10 years in prison. For making memes.

Yes, the federal government and their handlers in the Deep State are our enemies. This conviction is trying to send a message of intimidation and lunacy. They’re trying to act like they’re crazy enough to do anything because apparently they are.

As Rucker already knows, “crazy” doesn’t even begin to meet the case; although it’s certainly part of the problem, there’s much more to this than mere batshit lunacy can explain. In addition to and perhaps much worse than that, our Überstadt Masters are also ruthless, bereft of either shame or compassion, and wholly evil.

TRUMPGASM!

After furiously auto-diddling themselves for six frustrating years with no relief, the Leftard cat-ladies and girly-men have finally achieved one, and the pleasure is so intense they’re positively giddy from it.

Did They Light Up a Cigarette Afterward?
The New York Times enjoyed its long-delayed tantric Trumpgasm so much today that it rolled out the full-page banner headline format usually reserved for the commencement of world wars. (They took the banner down before seven o’clock this morning.) For many of the cat-ladies employed as “reporters” at the once-august paper, it was the first Trumpgasm they’ve ever experienced in a lifetime of emotional displacement, over-eating, and furious knitting of pink polyester hats for the crusade to root out patriarchal wickedness.

This fulfillment of a years-long psychodrama, starring the feared and loathed occult persona of a gold-coiffed “Daddy” figure who once presided in the political household, came at the hands of dragon-slayer Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, archetype of the many long-oppressed victims worked to death in the bilges of our slave ship of state — now turned righteous Woke deliverer of cosmic vengeance!

This oh-so-satisfying climax, of course, is brought to you by the party of hoaxes, flimflams, and mandated death shots, so it’s amusing here on the sidelines to see The Times’s op-ed writers squirm with post-coital pleasure underneath the full-page Trumpgasmic headline. The lead editorial declares: “Even Donald Trump Should Be Held Accountable”— overlooking the utter absence of accountability that has been the norm in every recent insult to the nation’s dignity from wholesale and repeat election fraud, to six years of lawless depravity in the FBI, to overt support of Antifa and BLM street havoc, to the forced, deceitful administration of deadly “vaccines.”

Such pleasure! Such passion! Such carnal bliss! Imagine how hard they’ll get off from watching the eventual Trump perp-walk and incarceration on live TeeWee. Why, it’s ever so much better than the erotic frisson they get from enabling pedophile “transgender” degenerates to proselytize and recruit the children of Normal Americans in defiance of the express wishes of their hapless, helpless parents! As sweetly satisfying, as deeply thrilling as that surely was, Drag Queen Story Hour for eight-year-olds simply could never hold a candle to this!

Oh god oh god oh god, harder, faster, deeper oh pleasepleasepleeeeaaase don’t ever stop!!!*

Heh. What a classic old vid, no? Plenty of folks don’t know it, but Offspring frontman Dexter Holland’s genius is by no means limited to the field of music: among several other interesting achievements, he also holds a PhD in molecular biology from USC, no shit.

Be that little digression as it may, let’s not short-dick another thrill-producing aspect to this development for these hedonistic Leftwit pleasure-seekers: the destruction of the long-moribund Republic, and its final descent into for-real Banana Republic-dom.

End of the Republic

Is the title of this piece apocalyptic hyperbole? I wish it were. But everyone in the country and most of the people in the wide world know that Donald Trump has not actually been indicted for the crime of giving hush money to a prostitute. He has been indicted for the crime of opposing the Leftist elites and challenging their control over the political system. For the first time in American history, a politician – indeed, a front-running presidential candidate – has been indicted in order to destroy his political chances. Americans used to take pride in the fact that such things didn’t happen in the United States of America. But that United States of America is over.

Donald Trump has been indicted on the thinnest of charges. House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan, House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer, and House Administration Committee chairman Bryan Steil recently wrote a letter to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, the destroyer of the republic, pointing out that “even the Washington Post quoted ‘legal experts’ as calling your actions ‘unusual’ because ‘prosecutors have repeatedly examined the long-established details but decided not to pursue charges.’”

Even the New York Times on March 9, in an article about how criminal charges were pending against Trump, that “hush money is not inherently illegal.” Working hard to justify the looming pseudo-legal banana republic action of arresting the sitting president’s principal opponent, the Times suggested that “the prosecutors could argue that the $130,000 payout effectively became an improper donation to Mr. Trump’s campaign, under the theory that because the money silenced Ms. Daniels, it benefited his candidacy.” So the whole thing rests on a novel legal theory. Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA tweeted: “Alvin Bragg lowered 52% of criminal charges in NYC last year to misdemeanors. He just bent over backwards legally to raise the charges against Trump to a felony. WITCH HUNT!!”

That it certainly is, and worse. Former TV and radio host John Cardillo warned: “Don’t downplay the severity of this indictment. There’s still another GJ in NYC, one in GA, and a federal one connected to the Special Counsel investigation. We are watching the political weaponization of our entire criminal justice system. This is a constitutional crisis.”

Much more is coming. Many are saying that the indictment hands Trump the election of 2024, but it’s actually designed to do just the opposite, and the designers are not stupid people. The objective is to prevent Trump from being able to run in 2024, or failing that, to make it impossible for him to win. The average American still has unreflective confidence in our institutions, and will assume from the very fact of Bragg’s indictment, and the others that are certain to come, that Trump must be some kind of criminal. The flimsiness of the cases won’t matter. The public perception will be formed, and that could be enough in himself to make sure that Trump doesn’t return to the Oval Office on Jan. 20, 2025.

Then if all this legal harassment somehow fails, there is still the ballot harvesting, mail-in ballots, and all the rest of the new system that has been carefully put into place and will ensure that neither Trump nor any other dissenter from the Left’s agenda will have a chance to win in 2024.

America’s descent to banana republic status has now been confirmed, but it has been coming on for a very long time. Old Joe Biden signaled it on Sept. 1, 2022, in his infamous red-and-black speech, when he declared: “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.” For the first time in the history of the United States, a sitting president, such as he is, declared that his principal opponent and his opponent’s supporters were criminals who were outside the bounds of acceptable political discourse. Now the ruling Leftists elites have taken the next step in indicting Trump. After that will come various measures to treat his supporters as if they were terrorists.

This is a dark day for the United States.

Indeed it is. And so much the better for any Trump-horny shitlib. What’s not to like here for such “people,” prithee tell? It’s all deliciously tantalizing grist for the America-hater lust-mill. No wonder they’re all springing a stiffy and splooging in their Underoos over this. I’ll let my old chum and hard-rockin’ colleague Mike Ness have the last word.

For those who might not know already, Ness is a dyed-in-the-wool Leftist his own self, of course. What the hell, he’s a punk-rock musician and celebrity, born and raised in Lost Wangeles, so what else would one expect? I still like the guy; he was always really good to me, despite our glaring political differences.

NOTE: I had originally written this intending it to be today’s Eyrie post, but since Substack doesn’t allow video embeds for some reason, I brought it over here instead. So now I gotta scramble around and find something to write about over there, since IMHO the video embeds sorta pull the whole thing together and make it sing, so to speak.

*Why yes, as a matter of fact I DID write pR0n for a living for a brief spell back when I was in NYC, why do you ask? I make no apology for that; don’t hate me ‘cause I’m beautiful, but as my friend Chris Pfouts pointed out when he first hooked me up with the job, almost all of the Great American Writers from the 20th century on did the same at some point, right up to and including Hemingway and Fitzgerald themselves. Being nothing anywhere near their league, I figured I wasn’t above resorting to erotic fiction for pay myself, if that’s what New York would require of me in order to keep body and soul together.

So there.

No, it does NOT take a village

Just another brilliant, insightful piece from the incomparable Dan Greenfield.

Whose Children? Our Children
“Our children or the children of the state?”

“We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents,” MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry argued. “Educators love their students and know better than anyone what they need to learn and to thrive,” the NEA asserted. “Parents claim they have the right to shape their kids’ school curriculum. They don’t,” a Washington Post op-ed bluntly asserted.

A Minnesota bill now proposes to take children away from parents who don’t agree to have them sexually mutilated. Similar bills are working their way through other states.

Behind all the identity politics, the graphic sexual materials in classrooms, the covert gender swaps by public school administrators, critical race theory, drag shows and so much else is a showdown between the family and the state. It’s not a new confrontation, but teenage puberty blockers, suicides, sex and racism manuals have made the stakes painfully clear.

At the heart of sexual identity politics is an obsession with dismantling the family. The embrace of transgenderism by the state is no accident of politics. The family, like race and religion, is the chief rival to the state. The state set out to neuter its rivals through identity politics, using race, religion and finally sexuality to define new identities and use them to make the state supreme.

The great struggle between human beings and the state was always going to come down to the question of whether the system or the family would be the central unit of social organization. In a little over a century a question that once seemed as basic to the understanding of humanity as the differences between men and women was muddied. The government took charge of education and demanded oversight of all the nation’s children because the indoctrination of the citizenry was a vital national interest. But so was the existence or non-existence of the children.

The shift from the single-income family to the two-income family with preschool encompassing children as young as 18 months and then to an ever more intensive chain of state educational institutions happened gradually enough that most parents thought it was their own idea. But what the Soviet Union and Communist China had failed to accomplish, happened in America.

Children, from even before they could talk, were being raised either directly by the state or by the institutions that it closely regulated. The unintended consequences of that, emotional fragility, a lack of healthy models for interpersonal relationships, and an obsession with ‘snitching’ on others that persists well into adulthood, were only the collateral damage.

Teachers and administrators in those institutions are pushing sexual identity politics on children as young as two years old not just because it’s a current leftist fad, but because eliminating the family wipes out any competition. The gradual transitional elimination of the family is rapidly picking up speed. Now the plan is to destroy the family by destroying the children.

To try to argue that it just ain’t so, one must first blind oneself to all observable reality, both current and historical. That’s more than mere folly; at root, it amounts to abject cowardice, submission, and ultimately, death.
