Best make it count for something, then.

We’ve told people, multiple times, not to play in the street. But they were soooooo much smarter than we were. Right up until the ambush was sprung, and the whole idea blew up in their faces.

And then they got played again, at the Capitol last January, just to drive the point well home.

If you’re not going out to play with the express intention of racking up a body count in the mid four figures, you shouldn’t be going out to play in the streets at all.

I’d say that’s about where we’re at, yeah. We didn’t come voluntarily, perhaps, and aren’t in the least happy about having been dragged to this place. Which objections, plus more besides, have been rendered entirely moot by current circumstances. The one and only thing that matters at this point is seeing to it, for sure and certain, that the ones who brought us here pay for their miscalculation, in fullest measure, so that they don’t ever make the same mistake again.

Nothing you seek to win is up for grabs there, and like this verdict, when the dust settles, you’ll be eating a 20-foot-long party sub sh*t sandwich. Every last bite of it.

If you couldn’t figure out better uses for $26M, you’re definitely not bright enough for what’s coming. There’s a million things you should be doing, and not one single one of them is “go to a protest march”. Which same haven’t worked once, since ever.

In a better, non-dysfunctional country protest marches and such might be useful—a country, say, in which the consent of the governed mattered a whit; in which the nation’s elected “leaders” cared one iota about the opinions and desires of the citizenry; a country whose national elections were anything more than pure theater; a country in which the words “public servant” hadn’t become bitter satire, an obscenity.

Alas, this is NOT that country.

The key bit, the crucial bit: Nothing you seek to win is up for grabs there. In the properly-governed Constitutional republic envisioned by our Founders, all the things a free citizen might “seek” from his central government would have remained attainable via the institutions and processes established for the purpose: honest elections; petition for redress of grievances by lobbying or direct contact with one’s Congressional representative(s); lawsuit; even public protest when/if it came down to that. The rise of our present-day ProPol Ruling Class would never have been allowed to happen, nor would men of integrity, duly sworn to promote and preserve the interests of those who voted them into office, have dared to consider the rights and liberties of their constituents to be “up for grabs,” in ugly contrast to the vile reprobates who molest and abuse us today.

Again, this is NOT that country. Three of the famous Four Boxes have failed utterly and are now of no further use to us, leaving just the one to work with—the last desperate resort of men who would live in the ennobling glow provided by the Lamp of Liberty rather than under Tyranny’s grim, suffocating shadow. Which brings us all right back ’round to those “million things we should be doing” again, now don’t it?

The black pill is a most bitter thing to have to choke down.

I’m back to blogging here because I’m going to have a hell of a lot more spare time on my hands. I am one of those federally employed people up here in Canada that essentially told the Trudeau government recently to go have sex with themselves over their vaccine ‘mandate’. It was my choice and it was an easy one to make. Not because I’m an ‘anti-vaxxer’ or some bullshit like that, although I will admit right here and now that I do NOT trust the mainstream narrative on these so-called ‘vaccines. I’ll probably write a more detailed post on that later.

No, I oppose the mandates because I feel they are unethical, immoral, a serious violation of civil liberties, and they go against both the core values of the organization I serve and my own personal core values. Simply put, I can not and will not participate in a program such as this. I swore an oath to obey all ‘lawful orders’ without fear, favour, or affection, and these mandates are clearly not ‘lawful orders’. It’s as simple as that.

But today, I made the grave mistake of reading a CBC article on this very topic and scrolling to the comments section. After reading a lot of the comments, I was left asking myself one question: “why the fuck did I even bother?”

I’ve served in a variety of law enforcement roles since 2004 in this country. Concurrent with that, I did six years in the Canadian Army reserves. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I did anything grandiose, but I did my duty. At minimum, I stepped up to the plate every time I was required to, I did my job and did it well, and I carried on. A lot of times, I did this at significant personal cost and risk to me, but I thought nothing of it because it was what I signed up for.

The general message from the vast majority of posters on that message board was essentially that “if you didn’t get the ‘vaxx’ then you’re ‘selfish’ and deserve to die and, if you have kids, they should be taken from you because you’re an awful human being” with numerous variations of this message. The take away was seeing a truly vitriolic, ruthless, callous, toxic group of people that seem to represent a growing majority of people in Canada today. I have no choice but to come to this conclusion because I see very little resistance or message to the contrary from very many people.  Most people seem to fall in line with this narrative.

And this is what I signed up to serve, protect, and defend? This is what I was willing to risk my ass for, all those years I put on a uniform and went out to work my shift, knowing in the back of my mind that something could happen to me where I wouldn’t get to make it home? Even during this entire ‘pandemic’, which I personally witnessed cause FAR more damage to people in terms of economic ruin and mental breakdown than the goddamn virus the media had most people mortified of.

I always believed that I was doing what I did so that people could live in a society that espoused liberty, peace, and justice. Turns out, it looks like what I was really doing was playing a glorified scarecrow, and sometimes a babysitter, for a population of vindictive, ungrateful cowards. The kind of people who, almost a year ago, were getting into fistfights over toilet paper at the local Costco or Walmart. The kind of people who were racking up their credit cards, buying food and survival supplies, or shopping carts full of meat or canned goods. The kind of people who were going out to sporting goods or military surplus stores and buying guns, knives, or archery equipment with ammunition and arrowheads that were effective on human targets, with the intention of using them on such. The kind of people who, under ‘normal’ circumstances, wouldn’t have done anything close to any of these things, but went out and mass panicked because the mainstream narrative had them convinced that we were careening towards a live action version of ‘The Walking Dead’ (I really hated that damn show).

These are the people who are STILL drinking the establishment kool-aid, which they’ve shown by tripping over each other to get this ‘vaccine’ (which, even according to the mainstream narrative, isn’t really a vaccine because it doesn’t inoculate you to the COVID-19 virus, as other true vaccines do), which was rushed through production at ‘Warp Speed’ without any proper testing on long term safety or efficacy. And you know what? That’s okay because it’s THEIR choice. I never had an issue with that at all. Personally, I didn’t think it was wise based on these factors and others, hence why I chose not to take the vaccine. But I didn’t once ever impose my opinions on people who trusted in the contrary. Not even when it came to light that these ‘vaccines’ didn’t prevent transmission or spread of the COVID-19 disease, when people were STILL dying of the virus even after they were ‘fully vaxxed’, or when the number of people suffering severe adverse reactions (NOT side effects) from this ‘jab’ was growing steadily, did I ever impose my personal opinions on people.

But now, that’s not good enough because these people, in their smug and arrogant manner, see fit to impose their choice on everyone else who didn’t throw caution to the wind and decided to exercise their freedom to decide what went in their bodies. Because they’re still terrified of this virus, despite taking the ‘jab’ that they were told was supposed to protect them but isn’t because they’re convinced that a strong, healthy person like myself is somehow a threat to them.

And what did that leave us with?  Well so far,  aside from the growing amount of venom commonplace on the internet, I’d have to say the lowest of these ‘highlights’ I’ve seen were the multiple videos of Canadian Forces veterans being required to ‘show their vaccine papers’ in order to eat in restaurants or even go to the goddamn Legion on Remembrance Day. If they didn’t, they were denied entry. Never in my life would I have ever dreamed of seeing something like that in Canada. ‘True North, Strong and Free’? Yeah. Right.

Well, you know what? If that’s how you people really feel, then I have one thing to say: fuck you. Seriously. You aren’t worth my time or my effort. If you don’t even respect or value the rights and freedoms that people like me put on a uniform and swore an oath to try and safeguard, then you deserve the alternative. And don’t kid yourself: you are going to get the alternative. You are going to get every bit of the socialism you think you want, with all the trimmings and perks that go along with it. If you thought it was going to give you a license to keep living the Life of Riley, where you’re free to have your vacations and your toys and your bullshit, all because you were a good little comrade and did what you were told, you are in for a serious kick in the groin. You can kiss all that goodbye. Don’t take my word for it – pick up a history book and see for yourself. Or go back to watching sports or reality TV. I really don’t give a shit anymore.

This whole vaccine push is about power and control. It has jack shit to do with safety and public health. Why do you think they want law abiding citizens disarmed? Why do you think they want to control what you see and do on the internet? Why do you think they are spending our country into oblivion, plunging us into debt we have no hope in hell of ever paying off?

Think about it.

Never happen—baah-ing, bleating sheep aren’t capable of higher cognition, for one thing. Being, y’know, sheep and all.

The most sick-making aspect here is the stark realization that this cowardice, this abject, unreasoning terror, this promulgation of fascist illegality comes to us, in the US at least, courtesy of many of the selfsame people who also spend so much time thumping their sunken chests in boastful celebration of how “free” we all are; how extraordinary this blessed Land of Liberty (gag) is; how very fortunate Americans are to be able to live their lives as they see fit without undue interference from the central government; how profoundly grateful we should be to the very Founders they dishonor, &c &c. It’s worse than being sternly lectured on the importance of mannerliness and proper deportment by a belching, farting, asscrack-scratching oaf while he has an exploratory finger up to his occipital ridge in his schnozz, spelunking furiously for gold or something close enough to meet his disgusting purposes.

Meanwhile, the price exacted for the crime of living up to one’s ideals, conducting your affairs as if ANY of that “freedum ‘n’ liberty” guff still applied to any meaningful extent, grows higher and higher with every passing day. The surest and quickest way to find out precisely how many freedoms you still have left is to try exercising a few of ’em. The lesson will be a harsh one, a course of instruction you won’t even slightly enjoy, nor benefit from. But you’ll remember it vividly for all your days.

Correction

Helping the truth get its boots on.

A neighbor passed on this summary of some of the little-known facts about the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. Yet most of the mainstream media is still distributing the most dishonest and hateful distortions about Kyle Rittenhouse and the trial. CNN, MSNBC, and the New York Times are the loudest and most extreme in their dishonesty and hate. Google seems to be on a full-court press to bury the truth under a high priority blizzard of lies.

“Too bad so many are still enthralled with the MSM that they never hear the true story. Unfortunately, the MSM is still spewing their HATE! Justice was served, you have the right to defend yourself PERIOD. The Jury is to be praised. If you didn’t watch the trial, hear and SEE the video evidence, you have NO say that is contrary to the Jury’s verdict! Praise God that video of the trial itself was LIVE for all to see and hear the TRUTH!”

“I didn’t know the gas station where it all started and where Kyle stayed up until they started attacking him, is owned by his grandparents. They came on to his property to attack him.

I didn’t know that Kyle put out a dumpster fire that was being rolled down to a gas station to blow up, with people all around.

I didn’t know that the Police were told to stand down as businesses were destroyed.

I didn’t know that Kyles Dad, Grandma and Friends all lived in Kenosha, 20 minutes from where he resided with his Mom part time in Illinois.

I didn’t know that someone knocked Rittenhouse down twice and then attempted to kick him with lethal force to the head.

I didn’t know that Huber had hit him in the head 2x with a skateboard.

I didn’t know Gaige Grosskreutz, aimed his gun at Kyle first, as he admitted on the stand.

I also didn’t know that in the State of Wisconsin, it is legal for Kyle to have a gun, even at 17 (which was why the gun charge was dismissed).

I didn’t know that Kyle did not cross state lines with a gun he wasn’t supposed to have. The rightful gun owner did, as he was legally permitted to do.

I also didn’t realize that Rosenbaum was a 5-time convicted child rapist, and that Huber was a 2 time convicted woman beater. I didn’t know that Grosskreutz was a convicted Burglar with an assault on his record also.

Now that Kyle Rittenhouse has been found not guilty for his legitimate use of force, we wait for the Federal response. It was Rittenhouse himself who admitted on the stand that he gave money to Dominick Black — who was dating Rittenhouse’s sister — to purchase an AR-15 style rifle for Rittenhouse from a Wisconsin hardware store because Rittenhouse was underage.

Kyle claims that the money was a gift to Black with the understanding that he would use the money to buy a rifle that would then be given to Kyle on his 18th birthday. The fact that Kyle was allowed to use the rifle while still 17 is suspicious itself. Look, I am progun and I even smell bullshit here.

If the Feds want him, this is where I see them going.

At the very least. Myself, I see them going absolutely anywhere and everywhere they can think of, because The Power cannot afford to sit idly by as true justice is done without making an all-hands effort to put a stop to that nonsense.

Dominick Black, who now lives in Racine according to court records, is charged with two counts of intentionally giving a dangerous weapon to a person under 18 causing death.

According to court documents, Rittenhouse allegedly gave cash to Black — who was dating Rittenhouse’s sister — to purchase an AR-15 style rifle for Rittenhouse from a Wisconsin hardware store because Rittenhouse was underage.

Court documents allege Rittenhouse retrieved the gun from Black’s stepfather’s house in Kenosha on Aug. 25, 2020, and that Rittenhouse and Black went together, armed, to protests in downtown Kenosha that followed the Jacob Blake shooting. Later that night, Rittenhouse shot three men, killing two, in what he and his supporters say was an act of self defense. Rittenhouse is charged with homicide.

At a brief hearing Thursday (this article is from July ’21—M), the prosecution and Black’s defense attorney made a mutual request to adjourn the Black case until after the Rittenhouse trial. The court granted that request and set the case for a status hearing on Nov. 22.

If convicted Black faces up to three years in prison for each of the counts against him.

Further swirl, churn, and perturbation.

After the shooting, Rittenhouse became a cause célèbre in conservative circles and some gun-rights advocacy groups and donations poured in to support him.

The money was collected by a Texas nonprofit called the #FightBack Foundation, founded by John Pierce and L. Lin Wood.

Pierce used a $2 million check drawn on his Los Angeles-based law firm to bail Rittenhouse out of jail in November 2020. Theoretically, the money would be returned to him now that the case has concluded.

But the Rittenhouse family fired Pierce in February and have accused him and Wood, who left the case last year, of diverting money meant to help Rittenhouse.

In September, a Kenosha lawyer named Xavier Solis filed a letter with the court saying the bail money had come from #FightBack Foundation and should be returned to the organization. Pierce is no longer affiliated with the foundation.

The father of Anthony Huber has filed a federal civil lawsuit, but not against Rittenhouse. It names the city and county of Kenosha, the sheriff, the acting and former police chiefs, and unnamed officers and deputies. The lawsuit accuses them of racial animus in allowing dozens of armed whites to remain among protesters, leading to conditions that resulted in Huber’s death. The suit remains open.

Jacob Blake has filed a federal lawsuit against Rusten Shesky, the officer who shot him, claiming his use of deadly force was excessive, violated Blake’s rights against unreasonable seizure, and was done with “malice, willfulness, and reckless indifference” to Blake’s rights. The civil case remains ongoing.

Four protesters have sued the city and county of Kenosha. They allege the curfews were selectively enforced against protesters, while officers ignored, or even encouraged, armed men like Rittenhouse. It seeks to be certified as a class action on behalf of all the people cited for curfew violations.

The water has been chummed, the hungry sharks are arriving, and the water will soon be getting quite bloody indeed. And to think, this is only the beginning of this shit, too. Yes, Kyle won the opening round yesterday, and yes, that win should not only be noted by Our Side, but raucously, publicly celebrated, as well as taken up and used as a cudgel to beat Leftard-swine skulls in with. That said, Real American eyes must remain wide open and firmly on the prize.

Rittenhouse’s Acquittal Is A Great Moment, But It’s An Atrocity Things Ever Came This Far
Savor this victory, for rarely is one so sweet or so well-earned

The Globalist American Empire brought all its power to bear to obliterate Kyle Rittenhouse for the “crime” of protecting himself from a pedophile rapist, a violent psychopath, and an Antifa felon. They wanted to leave a smoldering crater where there was once a kind-hearted teenager, as a warning to any other do-gooders who might think about protecting their communities or themselves. What if other upstanding, moral, law-abiding Americans saw Rittenhouse as a model? What if they too began using legal self-defense against the freakshows and pedophiles and lumpenprole criminals who people the Antifa “movement” and act as the GAE’s ideological shock troops?

Everyone in America should enjoy and celebrate Rittenhouse’s vindication. But justifiable celebration must not crowd out necessary self-reflection. There are bitter lessons in the Rittenhouse case.

Everything about the Rittenhouse prosecution represents the decline of America. In a functioning civilization, Rittenhouse would never have had to defend himself at all, because leaders would not have allowed an entire city to collapse into looting and mayhem. At the first sign of trouble, they would have sent the police out with a clear mandate to keep the streets clear and orderly by any means necessary. Would-be looters would have received the instant justice they deserved, and businesses would be protected. But America increasingly isn’t a functioning civilization, so leaders cowered, told police to stand down, and abandoned law-abiding citizens to the mob.

In a functioning civilization, even after the shooting, Rittenhouse would never have been charged. All three shootings were caught on video for the entire world to see. Every video made it obvious that Rittenhouse was defending himself. Revolverwrote about it literally the very next day.

Yet despite Rittenhouse’s obvious innocence, most of the conservative movement spent the last year and even the last week in abject cowardice, refusing to defend him.

The passion of Kyle Rittenhouse is only the beginning of what is to come.

‘Fraid so. This week’s victory was important, being not Kyle’s alone but a victory for all of us, in a very real way. Nonetheless, let’s not anybody kid ourselves here: sweet as this win is for the moment, in the larger picture it solves nothing, it changes nothing. The Enemy is still out there, his hatred for us still fiercely burning; the threat is still real; the clock is still ticking. And Real Americans still have only one option left to them, if they seriously hope to fix things.

One war, two sides

One must win, one must lose.

Choose.

One of the great semantic debates of the past decade has been the ongoing attempt to muddle the definition of “Left vs Right” in the American political sphere. For example, a lot of people who are new to the liberty movement (people who became active during or after the Trump campaign in 2016) have heard of the “false left/right paradigm”, but they have no clue what it actually means. If you think it means there are no legitimate political sides in this fight and that the entire conflict is theatrical or manipulated, then you are misinformed.

The false left/right paradigm specifically refers to the fake division at the VERY TOP of the political pyramid among elitists in government. There are certainly Republicans that are conservative in their rhetoric but not conservative in their actions or policies, and they tend to support or side with politicians on the left regularly when it comes to big government spending and big government power (just look to the Republicans that voted in favor of Joe Biden’s recent infrastructure bill).

Democrats and leftists don’t have to pretend. They base their entire platform on collectivism and centralization. This is no secret. The only theater is in their motives. Top Democrats claim they are fighting for the “greater good” of the masses when they are actually elevating and benefiting a tiny minority of wealthy elites. They do not care at all about the lives of their constituents.

Things change dramatically when we start talking about the bottom of the pyramid among regular people. The political spectrum is not as broad and nuanced as some people would have us believe and the sides are much easier to discern. There are exceptions to every rule and to every group, but to say the groups do not exist is an act of denial.

There are also people who call themselves “moderates” because they think this makes them more impartial and more open-minded. They don’t want to appear as if they are moving to one “extreme” end of the spectrum or the other. But, ultimately, there are only two sides in this fight: Either you are in favor of intensive government dominance of people’s lives, or you are not. And, the vast majority of people in favor of government tyranny herald from the left side of the political spectrum. They revel in the totalitarianism, even when they don’t necessarily benefit from it.

The bottom line is that proof is seen in action: Red states are free, blue states are enslaved. There’s no way around that.

The debate is over, at least in terms of left vs. right. The differences are stark and painfully obvious. Places with majority conservative populations are still fighting the mandates while places with a majority of leftists are perpetuating tyranny. It cannot be denied. It cannot be argued. This is reality. In this day and age if you want to be free you make sure you are surrounded by conservatives, or you become a conservative.

There is not a single blue state in the country that is not on the war path to enforce Biden’s vax mandates. There is not a single blue city in the country that is not trying to subversively teach CRT in schools. And, there is not a single blue region in the country that is not obsessed with wokism and globalism. The truth is, America has split into two completely different cultures with two completely different social objectives.

There are principles and ideals which are mutually exclusive; they cannot exist within the same society at the same time. There are moments in history when tribes form and cults rise, and generally these groups grow from either a desire to control others or a desire to remain free. We are living in such times.

We are indeed, although it’s also obvious that many if not most of us are not reconciled to that harsh reality just yet. But like it or not, they will be, probably sooner than any of us might imagine or wish. Which is where an even harsher reality shoves an oar in.

And that, folks, is foremost among numerous reasons why I unequivocally, categorically insist that there will be no secession, no geographical or political division, no “national divorce” without violent conflict—not EVER. Which, mind, does NOT suggest that there ain’t gonna be a division. In fact, I’m entirely confident that there will be, and that right soon. Actually, it seems apparent to me that, as Brandon says, it’s already in progress, whether we realize it or not. But the pattern of history indicates that our Great Schism enjoins all participants to wade through a veritable ocean of blood before the transition from purely theoretical into daily reality will be established.

Say it ain’t so, Gene!

Well, THIS is just depressing as all hell.

Gene Simmons, the singer for legendary rock band KISS, viciously attacked unvaccinated people during a Wednesday interview with “TalkShopLive.”

Discussing the Covid-19 pandemic, Simmons told Steve Harkins, “I know that there are Flat Earth Society people who believe in all sorts of things. ‘They died because they were fat or because they smoked.’ No bitch, they died because they got Covid.”

Of course, the ignorant musician is unaware of commonly found information such as data showing nearly 80% of Covid hospitalizations occur in obese people.

Next, Simmons appeared to diss NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers for choosing not to get the Covid vaccine, saying, “I don’t care if you play football or not, stay away from evil people who don’t care about your health.”

“You are not allowed to infect other people just because you think you’ve got rights that are delusional of course,” the frontman added. “This delusional, evil idea that you get to do whatever you want and the rest of the world be damned is really terrible. We’ve got to identify those people and bring them out into the open so you know who they are.”

“If you are willing to walk among us unvaccinated, you are an enemy,” he said, concluding his tirade.

Works for me, pal, if that’s the way you really want it. Only know this: as you have declared me “an enemy” for refusing to abandon my most deeply-held principles on the say-so of a clearly ignorant, fearful bully like yourself, I now declare you to be an enemy of MINE.

Consider that my personal vow to do you as much injury as I am physically capable of, in all forms or permutations, using every means I can conceive or contrive. If it truly must be war between us—a condition I truly, deeply deplore—then let there be no mercy, no quarter, and no surcease either asked or given on either side. If it’s a fight you people want, then I firmly believe you by God ought to get yourselves one, all you can stomach of it: hard, bloody, and brutal, until you retch your throats red and raw from it.

So be it, then.

“There’s No ‘Supply-Chain Shortage,’ Or Inflation. There’s Just Central Planning”

Put another way, it’s just government, doing what governments always do once they’ve been allowed to slip the leash and run amok.

The supply lines of February 2020 were impossibly complicated structures that no politician could ever hope to design. Think billions of individuals around the world pursuing their narrow work specialization on the way to enormous global plenty. Put another way, the shelves in economically free countries were heaving with all manner of products based on economic cooperation that was staggering in scope. Brilliant as some experts claim to be, and brilliant as some politicians think they are as they look in the mirror, they could never construct the web of trillions of economic relationships that prevailed before the lockdowns. But they could destroy the web. And they did; that, or they severely impaired it.

In which case let’s please not insult reason by talking about “shortages” or “inflation” now. Let’s instead be realistic and talk about central planning. We know from the 20th century that when politicians, authoritarians or both substitute their intensely narrow knowledge for that of the marketplace that immense want for very little (and lousy) supply is the logical result. Yes it is. When we’re not economically free, bare shelves are the inevitable result.

Conversely, product and service abundance is a certain consequence yet again of the infinite actions and trillions of economic relationships entered into by billions of people. These commercial tie-ups were constructed by consenting individuals over many years and many decades only for them to be wrecked by a political class arrogantly seeking to protect us from ourselves. That’s what happens when command-and-control replaces voluntary order. The remunerative ties that bind us fray, or vanish altogether. Consenting, profitable economic activity was suddenly illegal. Yet politicians and other experts are only now wringing their hands about a lack of supply?

Really, what did they think was going to happen?

They thought they’d get richer, more powerful, and would attain even tighter control over their hapless subjects. Tragically for all of us, they were right about that. Don’t fall into the common mental trap of believing they give so much as a lumpy Brandonfart about anything whatsoever else, please. The erroneous assumption that their goals and intentions are even remotely in harmony with those of the people they misrule is part of what got us into this mess in the first place.

We don’t suddenly have an inflation problem. To say we do is the equivalent of saying that the Soviets had inflation because all the goods worth getting were both difficult to find, and incredibly expensive if they could be found. In our case we’ve had a lockdown problem care of nail-biting politicians that suffocated commercial cooperation around the world. And with work divided less than it used to be care of government force, productivity is naturally lower than it used to be.

Please consider modern productivity in terms of Smith’s pin factory example yet again, and ask what it would do to supply. The only thing is supply shortfalls are not evidence of inflation. A rise in one price due to lack of supply implies a fall in other prices. Yes, we have a central planning problem. Were he around today, Adam Smith could diagnose this in seconds.

Anyone with a lick of sense could, really. It’s not difficult or complicated for those adequately schooled on an inflexible, ironclad principle our Founders knew very well: The sole raison d’etre of government is to attain, consolidate, and expand its own power. And that, folks, is absolutely, positively IT—period, full stop, end of story. Which makes it of primary importance that any government Constitutionally established and constrained must never, never, never be allowed to exceed its explicitly specified limits.

Once government has been allowed to escape its proper box, it quickly becomes extremely difficult if not impossible to force it back in again without the spilling of blood. The unloosed beast grows at an incredible pace, in every dimension and direction it can. Having bloated, engorged, and extended itself to monstrous proportion, it will naturally resist every attempt to trim it back to a more manageable size ferociously, using all its considerable might and cunning to maintain its own untrammeled freedom even as it continues to gluttonously devour the few remaining scraps of yours.

The price of freedom, as Jefferson cautioned, is eternal vigilance. We are about to find out what relaxing our vigilance costs.

A different view

Earlier I dismissed the Vichy GOPe’s Va win as “self-evidently meaningless,” and I meant it too. Eric Peters begs to differ, and could be he has a point.

It looks like the standard-bearer of the Woke Authoritarian Left (WAL) will not be anointed as Virginia’s next governor. Of course, this may change as new “ballots” are discovered – but for the moment, a respite.

Not because the other guy (apparently) won. Rather, because it appears that WAL suffered a significant repudiation. Even in Northern Virginia, where the WAL appeared to be in full control – of everything.

And got too publicly cocky about it.

The Clinton’s buck-toothed  donkey lost – again, apparently – not because a sufficiency of voters were enthused about Glenn Youngkin, a Republican cut from the same cloth as Mitt Romney. Rather, the Clinton’s donkey lost because he brayed too loudly, too openly about such things as parents of kids in government schools needing to shut up, sit down and let the WAL put boys who dress like girls freely enter the actually girls’ bathrooms and lecture kids of both sexes who happen to be white that they are intrinsically oppressive to “people of color. “

Youngkin is not likely to restore the Bill of Rights in Virginia. But that misses the point of this election.

WAL lost – in a state presumed to be its fief-perpetual. WAL may have lost another state – New Jersey (as this is written early post-election day, the NJ race is too close to call) which is a loss for the WAL even if the WAL’s candidate – the sitting governor – clings to his office.

The tide is turning.

The country resonates with chants of Let’s Go Brandon! It is driving the WAL batty because it is a barometer of that changing tide. The WAL has been using the strategy pioneered by the WAL’s founder – Vladimir Lenin. He knew you win by presuming you are the majority, which you achieve by belittling and demoralizing the actual majority.

He literally seized the name – majority – for his minority cabal of original gangster Woke Authoritarian Leftists, styling them bolsheviks, which in the Russian language means…majority. Which conferred upon his radical minority a false legitimacy. The Bolsheviks – as their party became known – seized control as the representatives of “the people.” In fact, they represented a tiny minority of the populace. Indeed, many of them weren’t even Russians – as the imprisoned Russian dissident Alexander Solzhenitsyn would note in his Gulag Archipelago.

Today’s WAL has been using the same technique – with great effect because its membership controls what is styled the “mainstream” media, which includes social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Which the WAL has used to create a false impression of majority-hood.

By suppressing the majority.

Those who offend the WAL’s sensitivities are disappeared – not by goon squads hauling people off into the night but via the less overt method of cancelling them. Their mouths are electronically muzzled (an interesting parallel there with the Face Diapers also pushed by the WAL) and their persons isolated thereby, causing them to believe they are at odds with the…majority. This stifling effect ripples through the general population, making the majority feel themselves a displaced minority, obsolete and in the way.

It worked – superficially – for quite some time.

Most people may not be libertarian – yet! – but they are not Woke. And the more the WAL’s tyranny of the minority is rejected, the more the majority inches toward the libertarian point-of-view. This evolution is inevitable for just that reason. As people reason it out, they begin to see.

The rejection of the vicious authoritarianism of the Left implies a repudiation of authoritarianism, as such – because authoritarianism is always and inherently vicious. Psychologically normal people begin to see that.

Take heart!

I do so enjoy this sizzling rejoinder to all that sniveling race-pimpery, not that it will have any effect on those most in need of the schooling.


That, of course, is the entirely awesome Winsome Sears: former Gyrine, outspoken Gun Gal, and soon to be Va’s new Lt Gov. I consider Sears to be the most salutary result of the whole shebang, not least because of how very many shitlib shibboleths she righteously upends just by simply existing as the person she is.

“He came and got me when I was six years old, and when I stepped onto that PanAm Boing 737 and landed at JFK, I landed in a new world. And so let me tell you this,” she said. “I am not even a first-generation American. When I joined the Marine Corps I was still a Jamaican. But this country had done so much for me I was willing—willing to die for this country.”

“U-S-A! U-S-A!” she chanted, as the crowd enthusiastically joined in.

When leftist candidates said over and over that parents shouldn’t have a say in their children’s education and bureaucrats called them “domestic terrorists” while siccing the federal government on them, America’s parents were listening. While leftists locked us down; closed our schools, churches, and places of employment; tried to force us to mask and vaccinate; and taught our kids to hate this country, their own gender, and even us, American voters were listening. On Tuesday, American voters spoke loudly and clearly not about racism, but about woke-ism.

The truth is you lost many seats on Tuesday but more than that, your leftist ideas lost. Your ideas are extreme, divisive, tired, and failed. America is indeed tired of the left’s American Marxism.

A Massachusetts teacher who was forced to resign after photos of him at the Capitol on January 6 were shared online has won a seat on the district’s school board.

The former Braintree High School teacher Matthew Lynch, 35, was visited by the FBI during his campaign.

Lynch resigned in February after working at the school for approximately ten years.

In his resignation letter to the school, Lynch wrote about how his military experience has left him very concerned about the direction of our nation.

“My military experience as an Intelligence Analyst has given me unique perspective on what is currently going on in both our country and our town and I fear we are heading on a real collision course,” Lynch continued in the letter. “I feel I need to make my voice heard in the town of Braintree but in doing so will have unintended side effects which will be completely unfair to my students.”

The former teacher explained to the outlet that he believes in Braintree schools and believes that they are “worth fighting for.”

“There is a revolution in education going on right now. More and more kids will be leaving public schools for private, Catholic or homeschooling, which will have a negative effect on Braintree’s schools. I love Braintree Schools and I believe they are worth fighting for, so we have to show parents why Braintree Schools is the place for their children.”

On Tuesday, Lynch won.

RICHMOND, VA—Tuesday seemed to be a banner day for Republicans. They won a huge victory in Virginia, and without the involvement of former President Donald Trump. Perhaps the Republicans had turned a new leaf.

But it was all a ruse.

As Youngkin gave his victory speech, he pulled off his mask and revealed that he had, in fact, been Donald Trump all along. “Hello, haters and losers!” Trump yelled. “I win again! Now I’m president of this state! Forty-nine more to go!”

“See?! I told you!” screamed Terry MacAuliffe from the crowd. “I told you that electing Youngkin was basically electing Trump! I told you!”

“Shut up, loser!” Trump responded. “I never came up with a nickname for you. It’s Terrible Terry. That’s your name now.” He looked at the rest of the crowd. “Now you’ll never get rid of me! Never!”

Moderate Republicans who had supported Youngkin in the race were inconsolable. “We thought it was okay to vote Republican since they were moving on from Trump,” sobbed Bryant Patton, a Never Trumper. “I just thought the Lincoln Project and Bill Kristol were weird grifters and/or pedophiles, but I should have listened to them and just voted for Democrats who hate and despise me instead of the Republican.”

Trump, though, was ready to get to work, first trying to find how he could get access to the Virginia governor’s Twitter account.

Reports of Pelousi immediately scheduling US House impeachment hearings for an unprecedented fourth time are almost certainly true.

Is This the End of the Republic?
We have a border crisis, an economic crisis, an energy crisis, a supply-chain crisis, a health crisis, a crime wave, a labor shortage, inflation, and stranded Americans still in Afghanistan. All of these problems were not only preventable, but were caused, created, worsened, aided, and abetted by a man in the White House who’s an ailing, doddering, senile, cognitively impaired buffoon spewing lies and incoherent sentences practically every time he speaks.

When former President Trump left office in January, border crossings had been down for eight consecutive months. But Joe Biden’s refusal to enforce our border laws, including ending the successful “Remain in Mexico” policy, and stopping the construction of the wall along our southern border, has resulted in the worst border crisis in at least two decades.

In September, U.S. Customs and Border Protection made 192,001 apprehensions along the southern border. Border agents arrested more than 1.7 million illegal border crossers in the fiscal year that ended in September. This after 208,000 migrants illegally crossed our border in August, and 212,000 migrants entered the country in July. And these are just the numbers of those who come into custody. Overall, border apprehensions are up almost 500 percent over last year.

But that’s not all.

Oh, you bet your sweet bippy it ain’t. The last few days I’ve been thinking about putting together a post like this one myself, a listing of all the symptoms of a dying Republic to date. As I usually do, I started pulling it together in my head beforehand, and found myself surprised at how quickly the sheer number of items overwhelmed me completely. Just making an informal mental start on assembling such a list is already a truly Herculean task, with multiple additions each and every day. If Hemingway’s well-known maxim about bankruptcy can be applied to the collapse of a formerly prosperous and stable nation, I’d say we have definitely left “Gradually” to plunge well into the “All At Once” zone.

Thankfully, this article has done all my work for me, although even this depressingly capacious compendium isn’t all-inclusive. Which realization is depressing in its own right. It’s a tough, heart-rending, enraging read, ending with a challenge if not a blunt call to arms:

How much longer will we stand for this, and what is the remedy?

There is no easy solution, but one thing is certain. It is time for those who wish to end this pervasive leftist onslaught to get off the sidelines.

It will take far more than Republicans in Congress ranting and raving on Fox News. It will take more than righteous anger at school board meetings. It will take more than cops, nurses, teachers and factory workers refusing to be vaccinated. It will take all of those who wish to defend liberty, and freedom against tyranny to insert themselves into the arena, and say, “enough is enough.”

If we remain silent now, then it will be the end of the republic.

The surprising thing about the article was the absence of any of the usual “peaceful, legal, nonviolent” worminess. While the author (who, according to the brief bio at the bottom, “was a speechwriter in the Trump Administration”) stopped well short of what we might call “fighting words,” this represents a real departure from the rhetorical daintiness more characteristic of Our Side’s bigger online publishers. Should this sort of thing ecalate into a bona fide trend, it might plausibly be taken as a barometer of rising anger and resolution on the Right, as well as an alarm klaxon for our increasingly rapacious would-be masters. Tough for them that they’re far too thoroughly marinated in a dangerous blend of arrogance, assumptions of impunity, and cocky self-regard to pay any heed to the warning as it blares ever louder and more insistently.

Which, they really, really need to. Because there’s a reckoning coming; it won’t be pretty, and they are NOT going to enjoy it.

So, I resigned this A.M.  Got word through Ye Olde Grapevine that they were going to come after me hammer and tongs. Seems I really pissed off a senior manager by calling out his subordinate’s malfeasance. Last time I looked I was -supposed- to be making sure that the people who are supposed to be at work actually are and that if they’re NOT, writing up said individuals. Until they get termed for not showing up. And timesheet fraud, last time I looked? Yeah…..

Well I guess calling out lying and timecard fraud gets you accused of being a ‘raysacyst’ when the person yer calling out happens to be the ‘approved amount of melanin’ as opposed to my Whypeepo self. That whole ‘white culture’ of honesty and integrity seems to be inappropriate now.

They aren’t just inappropriate, they’re actively proscribed whenever they work to the disadvantage or discomfort of an officially-approved Entitled Victim class.

THIS is why we’re circling the drain.

Indeed it is. One of the reasons, at any rate. There are others. And I don’t mean just a handful of ’em, either.

The willful and intentional slaughter of the norms and mores of the most basic rules of life have resulted in the death of America. I mean how foolish of me to think that De’yonte or Shaniqua should be ‘on time’ at the appointed place of duty, ready to work? How thoughtless of me to say that Nevasaydee should NOT take a hour and a half long lunch? Nevermind the two other times she took 45 minute lunches? That she missed a metric ton of training?

Any wonder why we’re on a precipice of collapse?

None whatsoever. In fact, collapse is the only possible outcome once a culture is as far gone in folly and degeneracy as this one. Any society that abandons proven-effective standards and mores which maintain stability, order, and a generalized trust that the system is at least somewhat fair and competent (or is trying to be, most of the time) is a society with no future.

Strange as it may seem, there’s a broader point to be made here, one with global and historical implications well beyond America’s plunge into the deep end of the affirmative-action cesspool and the dismal consequences for BCE. The success of a decades-long campaign to replace common sense, self-discipline, and the Christianity-based moral code underpinning Western Civ entire since its inception with nonsensical, contradictory Leftist shibboleths and psychobabble is the harbinger of ultimate doom. Eric Raymond’s brilliant 2005 post on Soviet memetic warfare and what he dubbed “Suicidalism” in the West confirms that the above-mentioned 3R (ruin-rubble-and-replace) crusade against bedrock American ideals and norms was neither happenstance nor coincidence.

The most important weapons of al-Qaeda and the rest of the Islamist terror network are the suicide bomber and the suicide thinker. The suicide bomber is typically a Muslim fanatic whose mission it is to spread terror; the suicide thinker is typically a Western academic or journalist or politician whose mission it is to destroy the West’s will to resist not just terrorism but any ideological challenge at all.

But al-Qaeda didn’t create the ugly streak of nihilism and self-loathing that afflicts too many Western intellectuals. Nor, I believe, is it a natural development. It was brought to us by Department V of the KGB, which was charged during the Cold War with conducting memetic warfare that would destroy the will of the West’s intelligentsia to resist a Communist takeover. This they did with such magnificent effect that the infection outlasted the Soviet Union
itself and remains a pervasive disease of contemporary Western intellectual life.

These ideas travel under many labels: postmodernism, nihilism, multiculturalism, Third-World-ism, pacifism, “political correctness” to name just a few. It is time to recognize them for what they are, and call them by their right name: suicidalism.

Trace any of these back far enough (e.g. to the period between 1930 and 1950 when Department V was at its most effective) and you’ll find a Stalinist at the bottom.

Stalinist agitprop created Western suicidalism by successfully building on the Christian idea that self-sacrifice (and even self-loathing) are the primary indicators of virtue. In this way of thinking, when we surrender our well-being to others we store up grace in Heaven that is far more important than the momentary discomfort of submitting to criminals, predatory governments, and terrorists.

I think it’s important to understand that, although suicidalism builds on some pre-existing pathologies of Western culture, it is not a native or natural development. It is an infection that evildoers and their dupes created and then spread as part of a war against the West; their goal was totalitarian control, and part of their method was to talk the West into slitting its own throat.

Eric’s follow-up was equally brilliant, and prescribes a possible remedy.

The first step to recovery is understanding the problem. Knowing that suicidalist memes were launched at us as war weapons by the espionage apparatus of the most evil despotism in human history is in itself liberating. Liberating, too, it is to realize that the Noam Chomskys and Michael Moores and Robert Fisks of the world (and their thousands of lesser imitators in faculty lounges everywhere) are not brave transgressive forward-thinkers but pathetic memebots running the program of a dead tyrant.

Brittingham and other have worried that postmodern leftism may yet win. If so, the victory would be short-lived. One of the clearest lessons of recent times (exemplified not just by kaffiyeh-wearing western leftists but by Hamas’s recent clobbering of al-Fatah in the first Palestinian elections) is that po-mo leftism is weaker than liberal individualism in one important respect; it has only the weakest defenses against absolutist fervor. Brittingham tellingly notes po-mo philosopher Richard Rorty’s realization that when the babble of conflicting tribal narratives collapses in exhaustion, the only thing left is the will to power.

Again, this is by design. Lenin and Stalin wanted classical-liberal individualism replaced with something less able to resist totalitarianism, not more. Volk-Marxist fantasy and postmodern nihilism served their purposes; the emergence of an adhesive counter-ideology would not have. Thus, the Chomskys and Moores and Fisks are running a program carefully designed to dead-end at nothing.

Religions are good at filling that kind of nothing. Accordingly, if transnational progressivism actually succeeds in smothering liberal individualism, its reward will be to be put to the sword by some flavor of jihadi. Whether the eventual winners are Muslims or Mormons, the future is not going to look like the fuzzy multicultural ecotopia of modern left fantasy. The death of that dream is being written in European banlieus by angry Muslim youths under the light of burning cars.

I remain more optimistic than this. I think there is still an excellent chance that the West can recover from suicidalism without going through a fevered fascist episode and waging a genocidal war. But to do so, we have to do more than recognize Stalin’s memes; we have to reject them. We have to eject postmodern leftism from our universities, transnational progressivism from our politics, and volk-Marxism from our media.

The process won’t be pretty. But I fear that if the rest of us don’t hound the po-mo Left and its useful idiots out of public life with attack and ridicule and shunning, the hard Right will sooner or later get the power to do it by means that include a lot of killing. I don’t want to live in that future, and I don’t think any of my readers do, either. If we want to save a liberal, tolerant civilization for our children, we’d better get to work.

You CF Lifers might recognize that passage; I’ve linked and excerpted this essay several times over the years, starting way back when it was originally published. It’s dismaying that it remains every bit as timely and relevant now as it was when it was written. I corresponded with Eric regularly in those bygone days, and can tell you that Eric’s abhorrence of violence and killing above was heartfelt and sincere. Sadly, the failure to take appropriate action then means that the only hope of saving ourselves now is via the dreadful measures Eric anticipated with such horror. Myself, I’ve come to suspect that it was ever thus, and ever will be—that, as Jefferson said, the Tree of Liberty cannot long be sustained without the regular application of its natural manure.

An outsider looks in

Rose-colored glasses: OFF.

I am not an American. I am a native born Canadian who practiced law in Toronto and London before becoming a law professor. I have worked in law schools in pre-handover Hong Kong, in New Zealand, and for the last 16 years in Australia. I have had sabbaticals in the United States, Canada, and Britain. And yet despite not being an American I am going to be presumptuous enough to offer some comments about the United States. +

These won’t be disinterested comments because I like the United States a lot. I think America has been, and is, a force for good in the world. Who better today to be the world’s most powerful nation? Of course, I would have said the same about the British Empire up to its post-World War II petering out, so some readers may wish to stop reading right now. Yet my point is that I defer to no one in claiming the crown of being the most pro-American, non-American law professor there is working outside the United States today.

Start with how you run elections.

I won’t excerpt the next part—the point I want to cover comes later in the piece—but you definitely want to read it for yourself. Some may find it shocking. ALL of us should find it horribly embarrassing, infuriating, and…motivational, shall we say.

Then there is Joe Biden. I’d say he won firstly because of COVID (no COVID, no Biden presidency) and secondly because he sold himself as a moderate, safe pair of hands that suburban voters and so-called “NeverTrumpers” could convince themselves wouldn’t go too far to the political Left. Instead, and I quote a savvy political scientist friend here in Australia, “these suburban voters got precisely what they saw and knew, but pretended not to notice.”

This is a president who is barely articulate; who is unable to field two or three consecutive tough questions; and who looks to any disinterested observer to be significantly impaired in terms of his mental facilities. Think back to the sort of press conferences former President Trump fielded and the level of press hostility to him that oozed through the room, day in and day out, with all the back and forth. Were it not for a sort of journalistic praetorian guard around the current president, one that shields him from all but the softest of softball queries—and even these are frequently fumbled and make for excruciatingly embarrassing TV clips down here in Australia—we would all be openly wondering how much longer he could stay in office. This decline was obvious to any observer before last year’s election, of course. Trump Derangement Syndrome may have given lots of voters grounds “not to notice.”

But there is a price to pay for willful blindness. That price is especially high for voters on the Right of the political spectrum, those who very much disliked former President Trump’s coarseness, vulgarity and brawler’s instincts and hoped for a relatively painless return to civility in the political sphere without too much long-term damage. From this observer’s perspective that chimera was never on offer. It was a mirage, a fantasy. And any honest assessment should have concluded that was the case before last year’s election. Indeed, if today’s polls mean anything (an open question), then with Biden now down to below 40 percent approval and completely underwater not just with Republicans but with Independents, buyers’ remorse has set in. Big time. Alas, that is not how elections work. As President Obama made clear (when he won, not when Mr. Trump won), elections have consequences.

I’m with H.L. Mencken on this. Voters deserve to get what they wanted. And they deserve to get it good and hard. For more than a few suburban and NeverTrumper Republicans, I suspect that is precisely how they are getting it at the moment. Whether they can admit as much, to others or to themselves, is a separate question.

A fair enough point, with one crucial issue carefully elided, namely the patently fraudulent 2020 “election,” stolen in front of our very eyes with total impunity in what has to be the all-time record setter for Most Audacious In A Scummy Role. That successful hijacking suggests the need for a revision of Mencken’s classic aphorism, which in full says: Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. Updated to more precisely reflect contemporary American reality, it should run more along the lines of: American “democracy” is the theory that the common people deserve to get what they’re willing to put up with, good and hard.

That one should hold until such time as the limit on what we’re willing to put up with has been reached and overtopped, at which point everything goes pear-shaped, the more astute bettors cash out and quickly leave the casino.

Ideology ain’t it.

I’ve given much of the past day or so to thinking about this Victor Davis Hanson essay. It’s a good piece – what else would we expect from Hanson – but I think it’s missing one component to give it a full picture of our enemies: both the visible figures in the Usurper Regime and the shadowed ones who pull their strings.

Hanson leans upon ideology as the explanation for the disastrous (for the United States and its legitimate citizens) policies the Usurpers have deployed. That is: he posits that the damage they’re inflicting upon America and its people is in line with their strongly-held convictions about “the way things ought to be.” But once again: people, their desires, their beliefs, and their aversions exist in a distribution. Not everyone who publicly espouses an ideology regards it as primary, an end to be sought for its own sake. Some people promote an ideology because they believe it to be an excellent tool for acquiring what they value most: power over others.

Indeed, I would venture to estimate that around 50% of the Leftists who promote a Marxist vision do so specifically because they think it will get them power.

I’d guess it’s more than that. But then, we have to leave statistical space for the Useful Idiots, who mistakenly imagine they’ll attain power apres le deluge, but will in reality wind up blindfolded, stood up against a wall, and riddled with bullets by the ruthless goons who actually will.

There is no arguing with a man who has decided that what he wants above all other things is power over you. You cannot reason with him. You cannot reform him. You cannot keep him from pursuing what he wants. Indeed, there is only one long-lasting countermeasure: you must kill him. As most of us in the Right are moderately reluctant to kill others, including the deepest-dyed of black-hearted villains, he has an edge over us that’s most difficult to overcome.

I would surmise that a great part of the interest being expressed in partitioning the nation into separate “red” and “blue” sovereignties arises from the unexpressed awareness that we cannot triumph over the Left without “going for the guns.” If you know that the price of victory is mass executions, but are unwilling to kill, what remains but flight? Yet even flight would provide only a temporary respite, for they who want power want it over everyone and everything. They would pursue us. Ultimately, we would have to fight them to the death.

I purely hate having to say such a thing. I’m more confrontation-averse than anyone else I know. But I can’t avert my mind from the facts and logic that have brought me here.

Nor should you. Indeed, it is imperative that you do not—that ALL of us do not. We don’t have to like it; as I’ve said many times, it’s to our credit that we don’t. Regrettably, The Enemy has long since driven us far beyond the point where our distaste for it matters a whit. Ugly as they are, in dire conflict with our natural inclinations as they are, those facts must be faced—squarely, honestly, and fearlessly. Our very survival depends on it.

The Thrubbles, American-style

Alarming parallels.

The Irish Troubles is one of six models I’ve identified that could have (loosely) an American equivalent.

Of course, I’m not talking about Catholics versus Protestants, but a sectarian conflict featuring sporadic armed political violence where the government’s primary mission is peacekeeping followed by counterterrorism.

The Irish Troubles resulted in over 50,000 casualties and 3,500 deaths over a 30-year span (1969-1998). Armed violence was widespread across Northern Ireland, but this map illustrating the deaths of civilians and British Security Forces gives us a good glimpse of where casualty-producing attacks occurred.

One of my key assumptions for this model remains that armed political volence would be geographically limited. I wouldn’t expect much from, say, central Nebraska or northern Alabama, for instance, just like many areas of Northern Ireland had very few instances of armed violence over a 30-year span. I expect most places to remain… well, pretty quiet as far as fighting is concerned. (Criminality is another matter!)

A few things… First, civilian deaths are roughly equal to deaths of all belligerents. High civilian casualties are the norm for domestic conflicts, going all the way back to at least the 1500s. As French Renaissance philosopher Michel de Montaigne (1532-1592) observed, “In truth a forraine warre is nothing so dangerous a disease as a civill.”

Second, while the 1970s were by far the most violent, war-related deaths continued to stack up over the following decades. The total death toll of 3,483 works out to an average of 116 deaths per year, or roughly one death every three days. For 30 years. Low intensity conflicts, especially insurgencies and guerrilla wars, are often protracted. Nothing happening in the United States today signals that our own domestic conflict would be short lived.

Third, I’m still compiling the numbers of fighters as a percentage of the overall populace. The end result will show that a small percentage was actively engaged in the fighting at any given time. As we see in most low intensity conflicts, a small percentage actually takes part in the fighting, followed by maybe 5-15% of the total population involved in active support at some level, and everyone else is just trying to live their lives. I suspect that the American Troubles would be similar.

The real problem for most Americans will be the economic, financial, and monetary destruction that results from armed conflict. While you’d think that high unemployment would enable the mobilization of millions of military-aged males, the disruption to transportation, shipping, and production likely means that many Americans will be focused on week to week survival, as opposed to actively fighting.

The greater the operational tempo and mass of fighters, the greater logistics you need. This likely means that the number of fighters remains relatively small compared to the efforts required to support them. Again, less than 5%, maybe even less than 1%, is likely to be engaged at any time. (That’s still a lot of people.)

On that note, the United States population today is some 200 times larger than Northern Ireland was from 1969-1998. So could we see 200 times the death toll? Certainly.

Although I still maintain that there is simply no possible way to accurately predict where this is headed or how it’s all going to end up, Culper’s comparison with The Thrubbles (hey, I’m Irish all to hell and gone on my mom’s side, so I can say it that way if I want to, dammit) seems entirely apt to me, and just as likely to yield some useful indications as any. At the end of the day, though, the one and only sure thing is that it’s going to positively SUCK.

What we should be asking is, who the hell cares.

(CNSNews.com) – “Where’s Pete Buttigieg?” a growing number of politicians and pundits are asking.

Buttigieg, President Biden’s transportation secretary, hasn’t had much, if anything, to say about the disruptive, multi-day Southwest Airlines flight cancellations that have stranded thousands of passengers; or the nation’s supply chain logjam, where dozens of container ships wait off the California coast for the opportunity to unload. The backlog is partly blamed on a shortage of trucks/drivers to pick up and return the shipping containers.

“The supply chain disruption is a crisis,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) tweeted on Monday. “This will impact every American, especially those who can least afford it. It’s past time for President Biden and Pete Buttigieg to explain what they’re doing about this.”

In a second tweet, Cotton said: “Pete Buttigieg was completely unqualified to serve as Secretary of Transportation. But Biden still picked him. Now, Pete is absent during a transportation crisis that is hurting working-class Americans.”

Heavens to Murgatroid, is there NO ONE who can save us?

STRONG HINT: If you sincerely consider yourself a Constitutionally-literate conservative, yet your first thought whenever a problem rears its ugly head is to demand that government step in and fix it—particularly when THE FUCKING PROBLEM WAS CREATED ENTIRELY BY GOVERNMENT IN THE FIRST GODDAMNED PLACE—then you are DEFINITELY Doing It Wrong, and should rethink a few things.

Yes, yes, hoisting new mom Pete Buttplug on xhwyrmmzz’s own Big Government petard might offer some small, transitory entertainment value. I get that, I really do. Nonetheless, Cotton’s kneejerk demand to be told “what they’re doing about this” rather than calling attention to the conspicuous absence of any grant of Constitutional authority for FederalGovCo to be micromanaging the supply chain, the trucker shortage, or the economy itself illustrates just how far Left the Overton window has been pushed. The widespread assumption that there’s a proper federal role to be played in addressing each and every issue says a lot about how very far afield we’ve strayed from our Founding ideals, none of it good.

Immune to absurdity

~If you go to a small-town school-board meeting to protest an already crap and globally embarrassing eduction system devolving into toxic anti-white, anti-American propaganda, you are liable to investigation by a dirty, stinking, rotten, corrupt federal “justice” system and its specially appointed “task force”;

~If you are an acclaimed glass-ceiling shatterer, the first “openly bisexual” and “openly non-theist” female senator in the history of the republic, you cannot enter a bathroom stall without being stalked, yelled at and filmed by a law-breaking alien who shouldn’t even be in your country, never mind your toilet;

~If you have contracted Covid-19, survived, and are now possessed of antibodies that provide an immunity all the science (and the chaps at Pfizer) shows to be more effective and longer lasting than the vaccine, you will nevertheless be fired from your job at the local hospital;

~If you’re thinking of buying a Chinese-made refrigerator or dining table, that transaction will now be reported to the United States Government;

I could go on: there are so many trees, but not a lot of agreement on the precise nature of the forest. The biggest-selling book with American conservatives right now argues that the answer to all of the above is “constitutionalism”. On the other hand, the radio host Jesse Kelly says:

We’re not a serious country and we’re not a country that will be around much longer.

I incline to the latter view myself. At this point, conservative complaceniks tend to trot out Adam Smith: “There is a great deal of ruin in a nation.” But not this much – not Covid lockdowns and open borders, Afghan “translators” and Haitian “refugees”, Big Tech and Big Trans, BLM and CRT, ID for the IHOP but not for the voting booth, China as America’s manufacturer and America’s loan shark…

Is the United States Constitution going to save you from the above? No, the Constitution enabled it – or, to put it at its mildest, failed to prevent it. James Kirkpatrick:

‘Constitutionalism’ is flawed because legalism can’t restrain power. Power shapes law. If ‘constitutionalism’ worked, we wouldn’t be here, especially when it comes to immigration. If the ‘rule of law’ meant anything, we wouldn’t have millions of illegals. Adherence to largely symbolic ornaments doesn’t prevent a country from being utterly remade.

Once you abolish the principle of equality before the law, any law – from the Constitution down – is irrelevant. Almost all the examples above are about the replacement of a land of laws with a land of men: antifa are privileged above “insurrectionists” for the purposes of mostly peaceful protests; the vaccinated are privileged above the naturally immune for the purposes of dining in a New York restaurant; illegal aliens are privileged above US citizens for the purposes of the paperwork necessary to enter the country; subscribers to the official narrative are privileged above contrarians for the purposes of access to the monopoly social-media platforms…

If you are willing (as is this country’s constitutional court) to torture language into making constitutional the lack of equality before the law for the purposes of university admission, why would the abandonment of principle not spread?

s I said (okay, last time, I promise) to my friends at the IPA Down Under just last year, in civilized countries arguments about liberty tend to be fairly abstract and thus a minority interest. At the time I ran afoul of the Canadian “Human Rights” Commissions, a well-meaning ally wanted to organize a mass protest on Parliament Hill: We gently dissuaded him on the grounds that you could have put all the likely attendees into a 1984 Honda Civic and still had room for a couple of child seats – because the average citizen’s reaction to my particular predicament was “Well, I have no desire to be rude about imams. So this has nothing to do with me and my life.”

Yet, for the last year and a half, arguments about liberty have not been abstract; they’re about every aspect of normal existence: the right to get a haircut, the right to eat a cheeseburger, the right to go to church, the right to have Gran’ma over for Thanksgiving, the right to spend 623 bucks without having to report it to the government, the right to object to both the brainwashing and all-day masking of your child, the right not to be shoved into the path of an oncoming train at Times Square because a crazy black woman has picked up the idea from even crazier white wokesters that you and your fellow strap-hangers are the very acme of white privilege…

“Land of the free and the home of the brave”? Both are conspicuous by their absence.

Big, meddlesome government: is there ANYTHING it can’t fuck up?

The root of all evils.

On the surface, the supply chain crisis that’s left ships off both U.S. coasts facing a month of waiting before they’re unloaded is caused by bottlenecks following a post-COVID retail flush, rising shipping costs, and a lack of truckers available to unload containers waiting offshore (Redstate covered that angle here). That’s what labor unions told the Daily Mail, anyway, no doubt with the intent to remind everyone of their importance.

But scratch the surface, and supply chain problems are revealed to be much more complicated, driven by bureaucratic intrusion, and effectively look like a mini-war between shippers and carriers, one that the Biden administration and the Democrat-led House of Representatives aren’t interested in working on until at least November, making the problems we’re seeing today extend into the Christmas season.

Oh, those problems are going to be extending a whole lot longer than that, I’m afraid. As I said from the very start of the Covid clusterfuck: you can’t just shut an entire national economy down, as if the action was no more complex or potentially destructive than flipping a light switch off—for fifteen days to flatten the curve a year and a half to consolidate a tyranny and train a Sheeple—then nonchalantly flip the switch back to the “On” position, emboldened by a level of confidence only the truly witless ever get to experience, that things will just pick up and carry on as before with no lasting disruption and/or damage. Their monstrously inflated egos and delusions of omnipotence notwithstanding, the idiot ProPols badly overestimated their own smarts, competence, and capabilities—exactly as they always have—and now every damned man Jack of us is going to have to pay a severe price for allowing them to do it—exactly as we always have.

Part of the problem lies with the Biden administration’s “Executive Order on America’s Supply Chains,” issued on Feb. 24, 2021, which set up a “‘sectoral supply chain assessment‘ of six industrial sectors, including transportation. It requires the secretary of transportation, consulting with the heads of the department’s modal agencies, to submit a report to the president within one year of the executive order that assesses ‘the role of transportation systems in supporting existing supply chains and risks associated with those transportation systems.’”

See what I mean? My God, the EGOS on these little tin gods, daring to imagine that diddling around in affairs that are much too big for pygmies like themselves could ever lead to anything other than disaster, widespread human misery, and societal chaos. Any genuinely intelligent, sane person would have known better. Clearly, the professional politicians…don’t. Does that suggest anything about the advisability of restricting government at all levels to no more than the merest minimum of authority and power? Why, it seems so NO DUH! obvious, so self-evident and beyond argument, that I’m shocked that nobody ever thought of such a thing before now, nor attempted to codify, explicitly and in writing, how a government strictly and sturdily fenced by such restrictions might possibly be established. A real head-scratcher, that one is. Oh well, maybe someday.

While over 150 companies and trade associations have written a letter to encourage Congress to work on the bill, there’s some concern within the industry that the legislation would only create tension between shippers and regulators and carriers.

OH yeah, by all means let’s get Congress involved too! Having them waddle their fat asses on up and thrust their snouts into the slop trough will SURELY straighten this whole mess out with a quickness. Won’t it?

In short, government involving itself and imposing new regulations while also refusing to update existing regulations have played a familiar role in the slow down of a market that is trying to bounce back after COVID stopped the machine.

Update existing regulations, my baggy white ass. The one and only treatment for what ails us that stands a ghost of a chance of curing the affliction is to take a broadaxe and start chopping as many as can be reached into little, tiny pieces.

Apropos of not a whole lot, the Red State companion-piece mentioned in the first excerpted ‘graph is worth a read in its own right.

Cargo ships anchored off California and New York, and in rail yards and on trucking routes, shipping consumer goods are incredibly backlogged due to a lack of manpower and pandemic restrictions to unload the goods. And now, there are warnings that the supply chain may be on the brink of collapse.

Shipping ports which normally only had one or two ships in dock waiting to be unloaded prior to the pandemic now have dozens lined up, waiting to be unloaded for up to four weeks, slowing the whole chain. In Los Angeles and Long Beach, as many as 73 vessels were waiting to be unloaded last month. The bottlenecks at the ports are also impacting railways and trucking. In Chicago — that has one of the largest rail yards — it was at one point backed up for 25 miles.

This is a disaster about to blow up.

If you were trying to do-in the country, I’m not sure what you would do that the Biden team hasn’t been doing.

It makes for some pretty grim reading, all the moreso since there really is no way the Great Chaos Engine our damned fool politicians cranked up and set in motion can be stopped at this late stage. All any of us can do now is brace for the impact of the imminent crash. Hopefully, the survivors can come up with some way to repay them for all the wonderful things they’ve done for us.
