“We will see a dramatic increase in unrest during 2021, and more so in 2022”

Doesn’t seem like all that outlandish a prediction to make from where we’re all sitting today, does it?

It’s mid-April and violence is picking up in United States. As I predicted many times long back. Often I wrote these things right here on Patreon, or said during interviews. Of course I cannot tell the future, but I have spent enough time in and studying wars that my estimations are far more likely to become true than not.

Who else, anywhere, predicted far in advance that April 2021 would likely see significant change in the character of unrest? I don’t know of anyone.

It’s not about sparks. It’s about conditions. I just drove thousands of miles across America sensing conditions. Those who have followed my work in Iraq, Afghanistan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and more, know to listen.

Now is time to repeat something. I am penalized for delivering bad news. When I first wrote in 2006 that the Afghan war was going backwards, support donations fell through the floor. And notice that I actually predicted that would happen in 2006. There is a tendency to support good news and penalize bad news. I want to write that things are looking up internally for United States. But that would be a lie.

Go back and spend an hour looking what the pack was writing about Afghanistan. The pack was writing about how great the Afghan war was going. I was the Lone Ranger. But it was clear. I was there. And I know what to look for. Being there is not enough. You must know what you are feeling for. Same in Iraq. All my dispatches are still online.

Diagnosing cancer is unpleasant. Especially so when I am diagnosing my own country and family.

On an international front, the United States is making a tremendous mistake by not recognizing that Japan is by far our most important international partner. Alleged insults by our leadership to Japan must be clarified, and if any offense was given, a quick and sincere effort to amend any cuts. This matter is of utmost importance.

The wellbeing of the entire world rests heavily on the stability of United States, and our relations with the world.

Then I’d say the entire world is in one hell of a big pickle, and it’s only gonna get worse from here. The current contretemps in the US is a direct and unavoidable consequence of two wholly incompatible belief systems in cheek-by-jowl juxtaposition on the same land mass. This impasse absolutely demands resolution, which can only be achieved via total victory for one side, the utter defeat of the other.

It’s theoretically possible to settle the eternal conflict between liberty and meddlesome, smothering authoritarianism nonviolently—theoretically—although history tells us that ain’t the way to bet. Whatever the conflict’s outcome, though, settled it will be. The two antagonists cannot co-exist in endless deadlock; one must rule, and one must submit. Then, after a too-brief interlude of something like peace, the struggle will begin anew.

Incitement

The witless baboon should get exactly what she wants. Right on her goddamned doorstep, literally.

Maxine Waters tells Minnesota BLM protesters ‘to get more confrontational’ one day after violent anti-police clashes erupted across US
California Representative Maxine Waters joined protesters in Minnesota  as demonstrations entered a seventh night on Saturday after the death of Daunte Wright.

Waters told the protesters at Brooklyn Center that she will fight for justice on their behalf and urged them to ‘to get more confrontational’ – just one day after protests descended into violence.

‘I am not happy that we have talked about police reform for so long,’ Waters said. ‘We’re looking for a guilty verdict,’ she added in regards to the Derek Chauvin trial. ‘If we don’t, we cannot go away.’

‘We gotta stay on the street,’ Waters was recorded saying, adding that protesters needed ‘to get more confrontational’ and they should ignore the curfew in place.

Her comments sparked outrage on Twitter.

‘Of course she’ll get away with saying that while anyone else would’ve been thrown in jail,’ Rick Santella tweeted.

Of course, this is hardly the first time this mouthy oxygen thief has tried to rile her pet Lefty thugs to actual acts of violence.

In supporting the second impeachment of President Donald Trump, California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters said he was “inciting” his followers, and was “trying to create a civil war.”

By her own standards, Maxine Waters should be impeached and removed.

In 2018, she told them to harass Trump administration officials. “Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” she said.

Of course, she’s not around to see the results. After pouring fuel on the fire in Minnesota, she encouraged everyone to keep protesting — though she herself would not be.

Maxine Waters is trying to create a civil war…

And she should be given one, too. Good, and hard, and all upside her empty head, until she’s left flopping around on the floor like a landed fish. There might be a silver lining to the dullard Waters’s rabble-rousing, though.

The judge overseeing former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s trial hinted at a possible appeal after hearing the defense team’s argument that Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters’ recent call to violence if the trial does not result in a guilty conviction could influence the jury’s verdict.

“My phone gives me alerts on things that just happened. I mean, you can’t avoid it,” Chauvin’s attorney Eric Nelson argued. “And it is so pervasive that I just don’t know how this jury, it can really be said to be that they are free from the taint of this. And now that we have US representatives threatening acts of violence in relation to the specific case is mind-boggling.”

“I’ll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in his whole trial being overturned,” Judge Peter Cahill conceded before hearing the state’s position.

While Cahill denied Nelson’s attempt to use Waters’ comments as a reason to be granted a motion for mistrial, the judge did acknowledge the danger of her rhetoric and presence in Minnesota.

“I’m aware that Congresswoman Waters was talking specifically about this trial, and about the unacceptability of anything less than a murder conviction, and talk about being confrontational,” Cahill said.

“…This goes back to what I’ve been saying from the beginning: I wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that is disrespectful to the rule of law and to the judicial branch and our function. I think if they want to give their opinions they should do so in a respectful, and in a manner that is consistent with their oath to the Constitution, to respect the co-equal branch of government…”

RUFKM?!? You ARE aware that this is Maxine Fucking Waters we’re talking about here, right? “Respectful” and “consistent with (her) oath etc” are things this woman just doesn’t DO. That “rule of law” business is a real hoot though, Yer Honor. After all we’ve witnessed the last several years, I really got a kick out of that one.

As I’ve already said, the verdict isn’t going to matter anyway, in this case or any other. Guilty or not guilty, Chimpout Summer ’21 is nigh upon us, and the rioting, burning, and looting are going to take place regardless.

Update! Will no one rid us of this loathsome hag?

New documents obtained by Townhall show Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters requested an armed police escort to Minneapolis over the weekend, where she called for violent activists to “stay in the streets” during a protest against law enforcement.

I haven’t the words. Just breathe deep and steady on down though, folks, because the Vichy GOPe ain’t gonna let the vile bitchofahagofacunt get away with this.

Oh, I just bet you will. Breath: NOT held.

Showing the RINOs update! While the usual empty threats emanate from the usual GOPe orifices, Uniparty pariah MTG actually goes ahead and does something.

On Sunday Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene said she will introduce a resolution to expel Maxine Waters From Congress.

Representative Greene later created a petition demanding Representative Waters be expelled from Congress.

Here is the link: https://action.greene2020.com/expel-maxine-ig/

Please feel free to sign this long-overdue petition.

Yes, please do.

On Monday Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed her resolution to remove criminal inciter Maxine Waters from Congress.

You go, girl. Not that it has a snowball’s chance of happening, natch. Actually, it’s a far safer bet that Republicants will vigorously assist their Demonrat partners in crime in seeing to it that Greene is censured and expelled long before the odious cretin Waters ever will be.

Keeping a lid on things

A practical application of the Second Amendment.

On Tuesday night a second round of riots and looting took place in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, which is not far from the riot-and-crime-ridden city of Minneapolis. Footage of Dollar Tree and other storefronts being burglarized in act of civil protest against racial injustice circulated online, and gunshots were routinely heard in the distance.

A few stores in Brooklyn Center were left unmolested, however: businesses guarded out front by armed civilians.

Emphasis mine, and vital.

Despite calls to violent “revolution” by looters, they did not appear interested in a confrontation with determined shopkeepers.

No, I reckon not. The pics at the bottom of this Tweet say it all.

Don’t start none, won’t be none, bitches. However, be aware: if you DO start some, there are folks around who’ll be more than happy to finish it for ya.

Blame Canada Florida!

Florida shows us the way back to the Light.

Florida Is Back To Normal And Corporate Media Are Calling It A Hellscape
If your perception of the world is based on what corporate media tells you, you might think Florida is overrun by wild spring break revelers who are running around killing people by flaunting COVID precautions.

“How spring break in South Beach spun out of control,” the Washington Post blared. The Associated Press reported “deaths” and “violence,” while “police have arrested hundreds of partiers involved in violence and property destruction” in South Beach.

Business Insider lumped “street fights, arrests, and maskless crowds” together in its description of the debauchery. On March 20, the city of Miami Beach established a state of emergency, complete with an 8 p.m. weekend curfew.

The narrative that “Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ ‘open-for-business’ policy is backfiring in Miami Beach,” as Slate suggested, is as lazy as it is inaccurate. I’m sure there are some ne’er-do-wellers in Miami, as in any other place on earth. But the corporate media is so busy trying to dunk on DeSantis’s successful and freedom-centric COVID-19 response, they won’t tell you what’s really going on in the Sunshine State.

I’ve spent the past week in Florida, and visited beach towns on both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. I’ve seen cheerful street musicians, sailboats unloading in marinas, kids on playgrounds, and moms pushing strollers in seersucker dresses. I’ve seen a few groups of what look like spring breakers too, walking down sunny sidewalks or sitting at beachfront bars enjoying fresh fried seafood.

Teenagers rollerblade down the boardwalk, while fishermen cast off the edge of the pier. People sit and dangle their bare feet over the water, practicing the old southern ritual of passing the time. A maskless street musician plays the accordion, while his dog retrieves dollar bills from the hands of delighted passersby.

Kayaks pass under the pier and jet skis speed around the bay. On the boardwalk, an older gentleman being pushed in a wheelchair is out for a stroll. “We’re open!” signs grace a few storefronts.

At the Saturday morning market, crowds buzz around tents buying farm produce, fresh-baked bread and fresh-squeezed orange juice, jewelry, art, and empanadas. Jenn Sperato mans the booth from the Habana Cafe, a local restaurant in Gulfport.

“Five dollars, honey,” she says as she hands out hot Cuban sandwiches and plantains. She asks another customer, clearly a regular, about her baby.

MMMMMM, Cuban sammitches!!!

Uhh, sorry about that digression, gang, I just couldn’t help myself. Anyways.

“Business keeps picking up,” she tells me. “You get tourists, but you’ll also have locals that will be here every week.”

Down on the beach, kids play in the sand and teenagers climb on rocks that jut out into the water. A few groups are taking family pictures. Behind them, a parasail glides by. An older lady walking her dog passes me on the sidewalk and grins, saying, “It’s so nice not to see masks!”

Normality is alive and well in Florida, as much as corporate media don’t want to admit it. Families with young kids are enjoying the open restaurants, beaches, and storefronts alongside retired couples and teenagers. I sense an attitude of friendliness, and camaraderie with strangers rather than fear of them. And there seems to be an extra abundant number of American flags.

For Fake News Media, what’s to like about any of that? They aren’t journalists anymore, nor do they aspire to be. They’re Gatekeepers and Influencers, the Deep State’s Propaganda Korps shock troops. Their job is decidedly NOT to honestly and fairly report on the day’s events but to steer them—to ensure the Sheeple remain compliant; the State remains all-powerful and pervasive; and the recently restored status quo ante-Trump of Amerika v2.0 remains undisturbed. Florida has become problematic for the Holy Narrative, a threat which must not go unchallenged.

In DeSantis’s Florida, America That Was is fighting back, even beginning to turn the tide. Can it be much of a surprise that her enemies would launch a fierce counterassault, hoping the rest of us will stay in our cages?

Update! A bigger problem than Trump was?

You would think it was summer 2024 and presidential polls were showing Democrats ten points behind the way they and the media (“Democrats with bylines” as Glenn Reynolds put it) are coming after Ron DeSantis, hurling any ridiculous accusation they can find at the proverbial wall, hoping one will stick.

The other day it was “Sixty Minutes”—Dan Rather’s old stomping grounds before he was caught in some big time fibbing, speaking of presidential elections—trying to smear the Florida governor, asserting he had favored Publix in lucrative COVID vaccine distribution because the supermarket chain gave him a campaign donation. (As is the corporate custom, Publix did the same with virtually every other politician, including, apparently, Bernie Sanders.)

About five minutes serious research would have unearthed the absurdity of this charge—since debunked by several Florida Democrats—but with the anti-DeSantis zeitgeist at the ultra-establishment “Sixty Minutes” five months wouldn’t have been enough, even with the myriad producers and assistants working at CBS.

The need to “get” DeSantis overwhelmed all, including, as has been noted everywhere except for most of the mainstream media, cherry-picking the governor’s remarks to turn them inside out.

So the Democrats are seeing a problem down the road, a problem with the potential of growing even bigger than Donald Trump, if such a thing were possible, a Republican presidential candidate who is considerably smarter than they are and, thus far, keeps his cool and is willing to punch back at their excesses.

Besides that, he might be more appealing to the “soccer moms” than Trump.

Better to wipe him out now.

Perhaps. Of course, the proposition that DeSantis might be a credible threat depends on the fatally-flawed premise that “elections” still mean a thing, which they don’t, so why bother “wiping him out” at all? Then again, though, the proposition that the Democrat-Socialists might not feel any particular need to wipe out DeSantis rests on an equally flawed premise: that they wouldn’t destroy anyone they wanted to destroy—threat or no threat, need or no need, with reason or without. Perverse villainy; force of habit; pure spite; an innate compulsion to crush all dissent; some unknown factor—any one of these would be sufficient motivation to drive the Demonrats to it.

The politics of personal destruction is simply what these people do; the odds against an attempt to preemptively take DeSantis out of play don’t make for comfortable betting.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda

You’ve all seen the hysteria, the hyperbole, the agenda-driven misrepresentation. Now have a gander at what might have been.

The FBI isn’t alone in claiming the January 6 Capitol protest was the worst thing to happen to America since 9/11. A substantial share of nominally Republican politicians has joined that chorus. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) went so far as to say that Donald Trump will have “a place in history” for the Capitol riot: “They could have blown the building up. They could have killed us all.”

If only.

When Graham says this, he knows perfectly well that he is lying. Trump asked the hundreds of thousands of Americans who came to show their support to walk with him peacefully to the Capitol. He made “peaceful” explicit. Nonetheless, every corrupt politician and newscaster in America has been able to find the violent subtext buried somewhere in Trump’s speech.

Well, try this on for size: Suppose if, instead of saying “let’s walk to the Capitol peacefully,” Trump instead had said what everyone accuses him of saying. Suppose he’d said, “The election is being stolen from us and I’m not giving up power.” (Remember how the Left fantasized Trump would have to be removed from the Oval Office by force?) Suppose Trump continued: “I am calling on my supporters to defend my presidency with violence. Come to Washington. Bring your guns! Bring every weapon you can lay your hands on. Don’t let anyone stop you. No justice, no peace!”

If only.

What do you suppose would have happened then? Do you think that the only person to be shot that day would have been an unarmed protester? If Trump had one ounce of the autocratic, dictatorial tendencies the press accuse him of having, he need only have asked his supporters to defend him with force. They would have.

It’s hard to say what would have followed, but it would not have been pretty. If Trump had actually encouraged violence, the “Capitol Riot” would have been a bona fide riot. We wouldn’t be able to count the death toll on a single hand. It would take hundreds, or thousands, of hands. If Americans had come to Washington actually seeking to “kill them all,” as Graham so despicably insists, you can bet that they would have succeeded in killing at least some.

By some estimates, 1.5 million Americans showed up on January 6 to protest the theft of their right to vote. They were angry as hell, but overwhelmingly peaceful. Even with the FBI in maximum repression mode, there has been a grand total of 127 arrests. No one burned cars or besieged police stations. What, in contrast, would a million-and-a-half Antifa have done to Washington, D.C.?

Hundreds of thousands or even millions of Americans would have answered a call to arms from President Trump. That he never made such a call is patently obvious, most of all to the liars and blackguards who make these accusations. They feel safe to say whatever they want because they know that Trump is a vastly better man than they: Trump believes honestly (and in my view correctly) that he won reelection. He believes the most powerful office in the world was stolen from him. Yet he loves America far too much to bring it to violence on his account. His accusers know this, or else they wouldn’t dare utter a peep—because it would actually be dangerous for them.

How ironic, then, that Trump’s sincere patriotism and reluctance to thwart the coup against him by any means required should result in the permanent loss of the very nation he so cherished. Now, all anyone can do is watch as the dismal drama plays out to its unhappy ending, with all the horror and grief that will inevitably ensue after the curtain falls. We’ll never really know all the reasons for it, but whatever they were, Trump’s failure to “cross the Rubicon” didn’t come without its own cost, and it was steep.

Another point worth mentioning: Whereas Trump loves an America that has ceased to exist, Leftards have always reserved their allegiance for a muzzy dream of some future “America” that bears absolutely no resemblance to the one conceived, created, and bequeathed to us by our Founders.

May Day Mask-off

Goalposts on wheels? Chock ’em.

On May 1, Let’s All Tear Off Our Masks

Oh. HELL. Yeah. I keep telling y’all: if we ever hope to end this charade, we must end it ourselves.

One hundred days.

That’s what President Biden asked for before he was inaugurated – 100 days of masking. That was the linchpin of his plan to end the coronavirus pandemic. It was in his executive order requiring people to wear masks when they are on U.S. Government property, including national parks and forests, even when there are no other people around for miles. Just give him that 100 days and everything will be fine.

Well, April 30 is the 100th day. On May 1, we can take off our masks for good.

Well, maybe. But probably not. In fact, Biden has said as much.

By now we should know that the goalposts won’t be where they were when we began this latest touchdown drive. They never are. It seems to be an inviolable law of nature that when the government imposes restrictions to deal with a temporary crisis, those restrictions hang around long after the crisis has passed.

Some of you older folks may remember the national 55 miles per hour speed limit on the interstate highways. President Nixon signed it into law in January 1974 to reduce fuel consumption during the Arab oil embargo of October 1973. The embargo ended in March 1974, but the law hung around for another generation, only the excuse became “highway safety” – which as studies found, the law did nothing to improve.

Or more recently, remember “two weeks to flatten the curve”? Two weeks in national lockdown to avoid overwhelming the hospitals with Covid-19 cases. Two weeks that turned into a month, then two, three, four months, and more. The hospitals were never overwhelmed – in fact, they were laying off healthcare workers – but state governors continued the lockdowns, only now the excuse was to “slow the spread.” Except that in states that didn’t lock down, coronavirus didn’t spread any faster than in states that did.

What our mask masters don’t seem to get is that our bodies need oxygen, and to get the required number of free oxygen molecules into our bloodstreams, we must inhale a certain volume of air. This means we also must exhale about the same volume (although about 20 percent of the free oxygen we inhaled has been exchanged for carbon dioxide). The only sure-fire way to keep from getting or spreading Covid-19 is to put a tight-fitting plastic bag over your head. After that, you will have no more worries about Covid-19 – or about anything else.

Hey, I could get behind that idea too. After all, I never did don the Mask of Submission, so this new plastic over-the-head variety wouldn’t affect me any more than the first one has. A vigorous campaign promoting the Bag On America!™ movement might go quite a way towards closing the yawning Darwin’s Law loophole we’ve been increasingly plagued by in recent years.

Here’s a clue: the mandates have nothing to do with the pandemic. There is no valid medical reason for healthy people to keep wearing masks, especially if they’ve been vaccinated. No, the reason is political, not medical. Like the tricolor cockade worn during the French Revolution, a mask demonstrates your submission to your rulers.

There is only one way to end the endless mask mandates, and that is to just stop wearing them. President Biden asked for 100 days of masking. All right, As of May 1, he’ll have had his 100 days. On that day I propose that we all remove our masks and keep them off. It is time the American people let their rulers know they will no longer tolerate arbitrary and useless mandates that seem to be more about controlling them with fear than protecting them from disease. The goalposts have been moved for the last time.

And May 1 is an especially appropriate date for the great unmasking. May Day is the traditional international socialist holiday, and the pandemic has been used as an excuse to deprive us of our freedoms and advance the socialist agenda (e.g., see the recently-passed $1.9 trillion “covid relief” package). What better day to stand up to these would-be Stalins?

A May Day Mask-off is a swell idea; don’t get me wrong, I’m all for it. But history teaches that there IS a better way to stand up to our Stalin wannabes—actually, that there’s really only ONE sure-fire way of getting the job done—and that eventually, any society that wishes to be rid of them must resort to it.

Our new National Pastime

I liked the old one a lot better.

By moving the all-star game out of Atlanta, the morally narcissistic ignoramuses who run Major League Baseball have inadvertently given us the defining moment in the ultimate decline and fall of the United States of America as we know it.

Forget the actual details of the Georgia voting law they claim to be protesting. Facts are immaterial. The national pastime has joined the ranks of the “woke” virtue signalers.

Virtue signaling itself has become our national pastime.

Everyone, at least that percentage of the country who voted for the current president, practice it on a daily or even hourly basis, like a catechism.

The president himself we could call the Virtue Signaler-in-Chief. He began his “virtuous” journey in law school where he was almost ejected for plagiarism, begged to stay in, and then later told us he graduated at the top of his class. (He actually graduated at the bottom, as would any plagiarist, if they graduated at all.)

And then there were numerous other “virtuous” cases of plagiarism, including from the British politician Neil Kinnock, but no matter. Our great legal scholar president knows the Georgia election law is wrong. Not only is it wrong, it’s racist.

So he led the charge in moving the game out of Atlanta and essentially gave permission to the league executives to make their reactionary move.

The result, baseball is virtually dead from virtual signaling. Call it murder by idiotic ideology.

But baseball is just a game and America is no such thing. It was once the beacon of all humanity when it came to democracy and freedom but that is no more.

Like any good moral narcissist (i. e. he or she who virtue signals) we are no longer liberty and freedom lovers. We are now “woke.”

“Woke,” however, is not an American idea. Neither were, completely, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. To some extent they came from Europe, influenced, as many readers know, by John Locke, among others, but they were developed and enhanced in a uniquely American way by Jefferson, Madison, et al. The Federalist Papers were a flower of the Enlightenment.

Not so “woke.” Its antecedents are entirely European and have little to do with democracy and freedom and everything to do with a kind of neo-Marxist, top-down power game of a fascistic nature.

The American idea and ”woke” are, in essence, opposites.

Well, naturally. With the latter waging an all-but-shooting war (for now) in their perennial campaign to eradicate the former, how could it be otherwise?

Another funny thing those corporate Woketards who are calling for the smelling salts over Georgia’s modest stab at cleaner, less-fraudulent elections would prefer you not to think about: those same MLB suits require one to present…wait for it…WAIT FOR IT…photo ID when picking up one’s tickets at the Will Call window. The Delta Airlines CEO who is also all a-dither over same? Yeah, just you TRY to board a Delta flight without that photo ID, boy-o.

Coca Cola? Meh, fuck ’em in the liver with a rusty railroad spike.

Funny, too, how those high-and-holy corporate Righteously Indignants™ have uttered no (0) peeps as of this writing as to the other Georgia ballgames currently on the schedule—all 82 of ’em.

Boycott Georgia? Hell with that; boycott Major League Baseball, Delta, and Coca Cola, sez I. And on that score, I’m keeping pretty good company.

Thanks, Daddy!

If you kids don’t eat all your peas, then you won’t be getting dessert.

Joe Biden on Friday once again told Americans to cower in fear and wear masks in order to be able to have barbecues and enjoy the 4th of July.

“If the American people continue to do their part — mask up, practice social distancing, we can have a more normal July 4th.”

Yeah, get bent, Gropey. It’s not at all likely that I’ll be doing anything special for Independence Day anywhow, for reasons having nothing whatever to do with showing obedience to edicts issued by your handlers. To quote a fine American whose jockstrap you are not fit to lick clean: I will not comply, and you can go fuck yourself.

This isn’t the first time Joe Biden has told Americans how we can spend the 4th of July.

Last month Biden told Americans if we “do our part” we can have barbecues and spend time with family and friends on July 4th.

“If we do our part… by July 4, there’s a good chance you, your families, and friends will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout or a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day… Small groups will be able to get together,” said Biden.

But then Biden threatened to take it all away if “we don’t stay vigilant.”

“If we don’t stay vigilant and the conditions change, then we may have to reinstate restrictions to get back on track,” Biden said.

Reinstate anything you please, you scrofulous lackwit. I’ll go right on defying you and your precious “restrictions”—just as I’ve done all along, and always will do. You are not my Daddy, you are not my master, and you are CERTAINLY not my President. You are merely the fraudulently-installed figurehead of an illegitimate government, no more. As such, you enjoy no rightful claim to my allegiance, my compliance, or my respect. I will oppose, hinder, and resist you in every fashion I can conceive until my dying breath, then continue to denounce you, your minions, and all their works from the very grave. You may imprison me; you may banish me; you may ruin me financially, socially, even bodily. Only know this: you will never, ever break me. Melville probably put it best:

To the last, I grapple with thee; From Hell’s heart, I stab at thee; For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee.

Sentiment vigorously endorsed, with every fiber of my being. BFYTW.

American exodus

Just the usual insightful deep dive from Codevilla.

By this century’s second decade, the oligarchs who occupy the commanding heights of American life had ceased trying to persuade. Self-government has declined as corporations have wielded public powers with private discretion. America’s ruling class—bipartisan, public and private—grew to disdain the rest of America’s religiosity, patriotism, and tastes. But until our own time, most Americans either had not noticed their loss of status as citizens or assumed that they could vote to regain it. But the rulers inspired no confidence and ruled by pulling rank.

In 2014, Pat Caddell’s study of public opinion, which he titled “We Need Smith,” found that:

Eighty-six percent of all voters believe political leaders are more interested in protecting their power than in doing what’s right for the American people. Eighty-three percent believe the country is run by an alliance of incumbent politicians, media pundits, lobbyists, and other interests for their own gain. Further, 79% believe that powerful interests from Wall Street banks to corporations, unions, and PACs use campaign and lobbying money to rig the system to serve themselves and that they loot the national treasury at the expense of every American. … Ninety-two percent say we must recruit and support for public office more ordinary citizens and fewer professional politicians. Not surprising when you consider that 81% believe both political parties do what’s in it for them rather than fix our nation’s problems.

Such figures bespeak neither conservatism nor liberalism, but widespread alienation and disdain among people who understand themselves to be subjects of a selfish power to which they have no personal connection and that exists beyond their collective control. Hence, in the runup to the 2016 election, the bipartisan ruling class entirely lost control of right-leaning voters and failed to hold on to nearly half of left-leaning ones. Opposed by both parties’ hierarchies, Donald Trump won the presidency more as a social rebel than as any kind of recognizable economic or political conservative, by appealing to people whose personal style and opinions on any number of subjects deviated from what was being presented as “mainstream”—including any number of people who had previously voted for Barack Obama and for Bernie Sanders.

Trump won in 2016 as the candidate who would lead the country class out of the clutches of the ruling class—as a caricature of Caddell’s Mr. Smith. The ruling class—Wall Street, K Street, Washington grifters, the educational establishment, the media, and the corporations—saw the alienation that Trump embodied as the mortal threat that it is to their own power and positions. Unable and unwilling to change their way of governing, or the system of heavily bureaucratized crony capitalism from which they so massively benefit, these people resolved to secure the votes of Blacks, Hispanics, women, and the young by encouraging them to make war on whites, men, and conservatives. “Hate thy neighbor and stick with us!” was their program. Hence the four-year campaign leading up to the 2020 election was all about hating Trump and beating down his voters on the basis of race, sex, the Russians—anything to divert from what the rampant oligarchy was doing to the rest of the country.

Ruling people by insulting and harming them is problematic, and not reversible. The use that the oligarchy made of the COVID epidemic added to insult and injury, as well as to its power, in a manner previously unimaginable. Boldly dismissing without argument the fact that viral infections cannot be stopped from running their course once they have taken root in a population, they asserted that acquiescing to indefinite cessation of social and economic activities they deemed to be nonessential would stop the disease’s progression. The ensuing lockdowns, mask mandates, and other measures made life for most Americans worse in every way. But these strictures also crippled the sectors of American society independent of and resistant to the oligarchy—religious institutions and small businesses. They isolated people and limited what they could hear from and say to each other, leaving them prey to one-way propaganda narratives backed by nightly threats of mob violence.

In the first few months of 2021, it is clear that widespread compliance with institutions and leading personages on which the American system of government has long rested is no longer possible. The oligarchy exercises all earthly powers. Its theophobia dismisses heaven’s. It substitutes “narratives” for truth. Because its members internalized the assumption that reason is simply what Hobbes called a scout for the passions, what Marx said is superstructural to material reality, and what the woke call “logism,” it has placed itself beyond the reach of argument. It can neither admit those it deems deplorable to real citizenship— never mind to society’s commanding heights—nor can it set bounds to the next round of exactions and humiliations that, having ditched persuasion, it must visit upon them.

The deplorables plainly stand no chance of dismantling the new American system. Corporate executives, not legislatures, governors, or presidents are the ones who decide what happens to the trillions of dollars created jointly by the Federal Reserve and Wall Street. They are the ones who regulate speech and attitudes, who for the most part decide who rises and who does not. And they are the part of the oligarchy most insulated from republican institutions.

New laws may be most useful for reviving old ones, such as the 1890 Sherman Antitrust Act. But the problem lies in a century’s accretion of administrative arrangements, court rulings, and above all, of self-serving practices. Nor would it be possible for these elected officials to restore the republic that was founded in 1776-79, even if an economic recession or act of Providence were to deliver solid electoral victories in the Senate, House, and presidency to a party of the country class (were one to come into being). That is because the republic’s substance withered over a century, and its husk collapsed over the past five years.

In our time, millions of people have grown up or been educated no longer to want or be able to live as citizens of what had been the American republic. Partisans in mind, heart, and habit, their support of the oligarchy’s partisan rule has left the United States with two peoples of opposing character, aspirations, and tastes within its national borders. The government bureaucracies are led by persons selected and habituated against the deplorables. The same can be said of the educational establishment and corporate boardrooms. What sort of dictatorial power would it take to purge them? Were the deplorables to struggle for the partisan power to oppress the others, they would guarantee dysfunction at best, war at worst. That is why it makes most sense for them to assert their own freedom.

That’s a pretty hefty excerpt, but even so we still only get around to the piece’s central theme with that very last sentence. There’s plenty more yet, so you know what you must do, Glasshoppa.

Vote Big Dan!

Make America Texas again? Sounds like a plan to me.

Dan Rodimer is a former WWE wrestler who is running for Congress in Texas.

In one of his new ads, he takes aim at Nancy Pelosi and Democrats in Washington, DC and refers to them as ‘commies’ who are ruining America.

If he keeps this up, his chances should be pretty good.

Take my word for it, folks: you do NOT want to miss the campaign video. It’s a real humdinger, that’s what.

The DC article GP links to on the guy is all abrim with rich, buttery Rodimer goodness:

“The commies in D.C. are ruining America,” Rodimer continues. “We have a big problem … I know how to handle Nancy Pelosi and stop her bullsh*t.”

As he steps in a pile of manure, Rodimer says that he will “put a boot right in her socialist platform.”

The congressional candidate slams Democrats for “men in women’s bathrooms, boys in girls’ sports, higher taxes,” and “higher gas prices.”

“They’re building a wall around D.C., but they’re not protecting our borders,” Rodimer adds. “They’re laughing at us.”

Rodimer says that he moved his wife and six children to Texas because he wants to raise his kids in a state that is friendly to the Constitution.

“The communists in D.C. want to shut down our churches, close our businesses, indoctrinate our children, communism in our classrooms, make our daughters unsafe in sports and school, destroy American borders and our American history,” Rodimer continues. “We must stop them.”

Indeed we must, while we still can. Personally, I can’t find anything at all objectionable in any of that, taking it for the both-barrels blast of righteous, double-aught Truth right in the face that it is. Nevertheless, there IS a dark side here, one for which Rodimer can in no way be blamed.

Click on the link embedded in the above Tweet and peruse the responses and you’ll quickly feel the smothering miasma of despair settling over you like fog, as it hits you just how very many shitlibs have already descended on the great Republic of Texas like some Biblical plague, with more almost certain to come. Their peurile, doot-brained attacks on Big Dan are straight out of the Shitlib 101 handbook, quite easily dismissible if one is so inclined to waste time and energy on that futile endeavor, which I ain’t. What’s troubling about it is not that the “arguments” are tough to counter—because actually, they aren’t. It’s that they’re there in the first place, evidence of the dangerous infestation of the very heart of one of freedom’s last, best hopes. If these locusts are allowed to swarm Texas and overcome it, there’ll no longer be any refuge left where Real Americans might escape them.

Ironic as it surely is to note that one of the primary weapons the Twatter Libtards try to wield against Big Dan is the “carpetbagger” canard—which bothered them not in the slightest when HILLARY!™ glommed a NY address solely to enable the drunken megalomaniac to slither her way into the legislature—true-blue Texans shouldn’t let any of it dissuade them from supporting Dan Rodimer without reservation come election day. Not only is the future of the Republic at stake, it would also amount to a bodacious middle-finger salute directed at a whole passel of wretched, snotnosed twerps who have most certainly earned one—that, and a whole lot more besides.

Will no one rid him of this loathsome pest?

Never forget the CF creed: They will not stop. They will NEVER stop. They will have to BE stopped.

LGBT Activists Haul Jack Phillips Into Court Again, This Time Over Transgender And Satan Cakes

LGBT Activists Haul Jack Phillips Into Court Again, This Time Over Transgender And Satan Cakes
Hearings began in a new case against Masterpiece Cakeshop over a Colorado baker’s refusal to bake a cake celebrating a man’s decision to become transgender.

You’ll all remember this perfectly sane, normal, reasonable legal professional, I assume. More on him anon.

Hearings began Monday in a new case against the Masterpiece Cake Shop located in suburban Denver over a transgender male suing for the owner’s refusal to celebrate his transition.

Jack Phillips, a devout Christian who runs the cake shop in Lakewood, Colorado, is a defendant in court again this week after fending off discrimination charges in a more than half-decade-long legal battle that reached the U.S. Supreme Court when, based on his faith, he denied to bake a custom wedding cake for two gay men in 2012 but offered other items.

“I don’t make cakes for same-sex weddings, but I’ll sell you anything else in my shop, cookies, brownies,” Phillips told the couple, who, out of all the bakeries in the area, sought out the baker who would deny them the very specific service that compromised his faith.
The couple, David Mullins and Charlie Craig, filed a complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Commission arguing Phillips violated the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA) which prohibits any business that offers services to the public from discrimination based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.

The controversy went national, provoking harassment campaigns and death threats against the suburban baker that ultimately cost him 40 percent of his income when Phillips stopped baking cakes following a lower court’s decision against the shop. The case inspired another against Phillips after the Supreme Court announced in 2017 it would re-examine the lower court’s ruling, which it ultimately overturned on narrow grounds.

Autumn Scardina, a transgender female-identifying attorney in the Denver area, called Phillips to demand a custom cake celebrating his gender transition after he heard the Supreme Court would consider the initial case against the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. Twice, Scardina had already emailed Phillips to call the baker a “bigot” and a “hypocrite” while mocking his religious beliefs in 2012 when the controversy first arose.

A 2012 email presented as evidence in court also show Scardina offered to be a plaintiff in a discriminatory case against the cakeshop in the gay couple’s absence if they chose not to move forward with litigation.

The cake shop denied Scardina’s 2017 request for a pink and blue cake after he said it was to celebrate his gender transition. Scardina responded with a new complaint picked up by the Colorado Civil Rights Commission that was dismissed in 2019 by the group after Phillips filed a lawsuit against the state in federal court. Months later, Scardina chose to pursue charges of his own seeking damages, fines, and attorney fees to wreck Phillip’s finances rather than appeal the commission’s decision to drop the discrimination claim.

So at what point does persistence become obsession, anyway? Because whatever it is, it’s apparent that loony-bin refugee Mr Scardina long ago blasted right through the barrier and kept the pedal to the metal from there, passing huge nuisance, if mostly harmless to come to rest deep inside actually, literally quite dangerous, really ought to be locked up territorial boundaries. Background on this demented freak and his ceaseless vendetta:

Of course, it’s no accident that Phillips, owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, was targeted. It’s part of what I’ve called a “pacification process,” where the Left is following its culture-war victories with an effort to stamp out remaining dissent.

As the Federalist’s David Harsanyi puts it, the “campaign to destroy Phillips’s business was never merely about punishing a single man for refusing to submit to prevailing leftist orthodoxy. It was also a warning to all would-be apostates that thought crimes could lead to fiscal ruin, public denunciation, and endless harassment. In that sense, the prosecution has probably already paid off.”

It’s not the first warning, either, as Christian businessmen have already been driven out of business by the sexual devolutionaries.

Helping to effect this targeted-harassment action, Scardina had called Masterpiece Cakeshop on June 26, 2017 — the very day the Supreme Court ruled in Phillips favor in the first suit — “to design a custom cake with a blue exterior and a pink interior to symbolize a transition from male to female,” as Harsanyi relates it. (Interestingly, Scardina is still “blue” on the inside and has only, and can only, effect a pink appearance on the outside. That said, aren’t we told that the ol’ blue-pink Neanderthal-think is “gender stereotyping?”)

But Scardina is way too busy with the Christian persecution business to worry about ideological purity. “Previously, Scardina — going by ‘Autumn Marie’ and other monikers — was the one who allegedly asked for ‘an image of Satan smoking marijuana,’” Harsanyi also tells us. “In another request from ‘the Church of Satan’ — also, according to a complaint, likely Scardina — Phillips was asked to make ‘a three-tiered white cake’ with a ‘large figure of Satan, licking a nine inch black Dildo.’ How creative, right? ‘I would like the dildo to be an actual working model that can be turned on before we unveil the cake,’ went the request.”

Oh, I just bet you would at that, you warped sicko. The war of harassment and persecution being waged by the abominable Mr Scardina, for the purpose of punishing Phillips for the crime of

  • Being a practicing Christian man who takes his faith seriously
  • Daring to uphold Christianity’s precepts, tenets, and obligations
  • Living his faith without either apology or shame, relying on morality and conscience as his guide
  • Wanting to have nothing whatever to do with obnoxious, pushy mental defectives entirely consumed with forcing all infidels everywhere to swear fealty to the Left’s madhouse catechism

And on the topic of pestiferous, unhinged freaks, permit me to share a few tidbits of potentially pertinent info:

On our watch? NOT!

Wes contends that, since we’re the ones who allowed it to happen, it’s on us to put things right.

The Deep State is overseeing the fall from greatness of the United States. There is no freedom without bravery. As a society, are we free if we tolerate intimidation by government agencies like the IRS, FBI, DHS etc. Are we free if we allow the NSA to illegally search and seize our private documents? Are we free if we allow ourselves to be forcibly placed into an ill-conceived health care system with forced vaccinations? We are no longer in the process of relinquishing the freedom that is America, we have freely given it away. Are we really brave if we allow all these things to occur and keep silent because we are afraid that some government agents will come and hold us indefinitely without cause? The Deep State just stole our country from us in broad daylight and smirk at us. They dare us to do something about it.

Our forefathers’ worst nightmare has now come upon us. They created a free government, limited in its powers and a servant to the people. But today the United States has become an empire, fast decaying into tyranny, and we their children have become strangers and subjects in the land our fathers won. Instead of a free and just social and political order, today we are threatened by a Godless national culture and a corrupt, despotic federal government that knows no limits to its power.

We are NEVER going back to the America that was. The America we once knew is DEAD! Our children and grandchildren deserve so much better.

Freedom is not reserved for those unwilling to fight for it.

Nope. In fact, freedom is never stable, permanent, or cheap. It must be jealously guarded, scrupulously maintained, and eternally defended—yes, even violently defended, as spelled out in the clear and simple words of the Second Amendment—lest it be taken away. Freedom can never be assumed; it must be earned, again and again and again, by each successive generation. It is always under attack, ceaselessly endangered by enemies who are tireless, relentless, and ruthless.

Bayou Peter rediscovers an uncomfortable truth about those enemies.

I’ve fought Communism in more than one country, over an extended period of time. I’d thought that, in my old age, I could relax and hand on the fight to others. It looks like I was wrong.

Hate to say it, buddy, and I sincerely hope I don’t come off like I’m trying to be insulting or anything like that, but, well…yes, you were. No disgrace in it, of course. Certainly you and others like you—doughty, valiant men who have personally faced the foe and stared him down—have earned a respite. But it can never be. Because of who and what they are, the Enemy will not allow it. In truth, so profound is their lust for unconstrained power, they CAN’T allow it. It simply ain’t in ’em.

Oh, well. A lot of Communists and their followers have tried to kill me over the years. I’m still here, as are many other veterans of hot zones in the Cold War. I guess the ideological descendants of those Communists are going to have another go at us, and people like us. Well, we may be old farts now, but I think we can still pull a rabbit or two out of the hat if we have to…

You—WE—will indubitably find out. And so will our children, then their children, their children’s children, on down through the long years. Each generation’s devotion to freedom will be tested. Why? It’s quite simple, really. If there’s any one thing about the Left that we all should fully and firmly understand by now, it is what I have repeatedly said of them: They will NOT stop. They will NEVER stop. They will have to BE stopped. Tyrants, in short, are forever.

The Left will ALWAYS come back for another bite at the apple, until either Team Liberty is vanquished utterly or they are dead, dead, DEAD. They cannot be reasoned with. They cannot be compromised with. They cannot be appeased, placated, or bought off. They are supremely uninterested in peaceful coexistence with a free people not under their total control. From the sidebar, Daniel Webster may have said it best.

There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.

Webster spoke those wise words many years ago, but nothing has changed since, nor will it ever. NC Reed put the thing a bit differently, but the sentiment remains the same, as does the situation. As Webster

Ain’t no misunderstanding this war. They want to rule us and aim to do it. We aim not to allow it. All there is to it.

It is indeed. Period. Full stop. End of story. They destroy us, or we destroy them. There is no third way. Nobody has to like it. But sooner or later, no one will be excused from his confrontation with the fateful decision: to bend the knee, or to stand your ground. And then, we will have to choose—a choice that will both reveal and define us, now and for all time.

Saying the quiet part out loud

Cadaver Joe staggered out to mumble and slur his way through a speech of some kind or other, apparently. No longer giving the slightest toss about anything shat from any FederalGovCo sphincter myself, I wasted not a moment of my time or attention on it. Hearing it discussed on the car radio today, though, parts of it seem to have been of some moment after all.

On Thursday night, a masked Biden tottered down a long, empty hall to a podium. He then gave the most bizarre presidential address in American history. After a grim recital of “facts” about the last year, Biden emphasized multiple times that Americans had better take the vaccine — and be grateful to him for his amazing ability to get the vaccine to Americans. He also insisted that, vaccines or not, the government’s in control and can lock all of us up all over again.

Here, in no particular order, are the points that struck me:

1. Biden was more alert than he’s been in many months. Given how frail and confused Biden’s been lately, well, let’s just say his verve was suspicious. Even his eyes, which are usually tightly squinted as he struggles to stay alert and read his teleprompter, were wide open, almost scarily so. Still, he got visibly tired near the end, slurring his words and seeming lost.

3. Biden kept saying he was going to tell the truth. He quoted a woman he allegedly met who told him her heart’s desire: “‘I just want the truth. The truth. Just tell me the truth.'”

“Tell the truth,” Biden said again.

“My fellow Americans,” he said, “you’re owed nothing less than the truth.”

Later, he added, “I will tell you the truth.”

And then he said, “In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be traveling along with the first lady” and a whole host of others “to tell you the truth.”

Do you know who says things like that? Someone who’s lying.

Well, D’UH. Naturally, the speech was as packed stem to stern with outrageous lies as any other Demonrat exhalation reliably is. As pluperfect an old grifter as we know the pRetend pResident to be from his half-century spent rooting in the DC hog-trough, how could any sentient being expect something other than misdirection, hypocrisy, and calculated, self-serving falsehood from the senile old kiddie-diddler? Even so, there were some telling tidbits inadvertently revealed. More delicate, Pollyanna-ish types still locked in denial about what kind of country they live in might need to fortify themselves with a swallow or three of something strong.

7. The main thrust of the speech was that everyone must get the vaccine (the wonderful Biden vaccine). However, Biden conceded that even with the vaccine, masks and social distancing must continue. Even with everyone vaccinated, by July 4, maybe we can gather with small groups outdoors. In other words, even as we’re all pumped full of a vaccine, nothing will change. But we should trust Biden and remember that we’re all in this together.

8. Here’s the scariest thing Biden said, although he slipped it in so quickly many may not have noticed (emphasis mine): “Fourth, in the coming weeks, we will issue further guidance on what you can and cannot do once fully vaccinated to lessen the confusion, to keep people safe, and encourage more people to get vaccinated.”

The vaccine, rather than freeing us, will bring us even more tightly under government control as the federal government mandates what we can and cannot do.

It’s just beautiful, innit? Now you all be good little boys and girls and get your “vaccination,” then maybe Mommy and Daddy will think about letting you celebrate your “freedom” on “Independence Day” just a little this year, mmmmkay?

Naturally, Praetorian Media “journalists” wet themselves with delirious joy over Biden’s grim unveiling of how our Deep State masters really perceive the current state of play in Amerika v2.0.

“Biden Tells Nation There Is Hope After a Devastating Year.”

“Hopeful Biden Says, ‘I Need You.’”

“Biden Sets Vaccine Goal That Would Allow Americans To Gather By July 4.”

These headlines, from the covers of the printed New York Times, LA Times, and Boston Globe, greeted Americans Friday morning, 51 days into the Biden presidency and a full year into the beginnings of America’s long lockdown experiment.

“Seven Takeaways From Biden’s Prime-Time Address” topped CNN’s site. Chris Cillizza’s first two “takeaways”? “Donald Trump dug the hole” was number one. Number two? “A return to empathy.” Chris Cillizza, it’s worth noting, is a 45-year-old man and does not work for the White House.

“Last night is why Joe Biden won the presidency,” Politico Playbook opened with a straight face.

If you hadn’t watched the president’s prime-time address, you might think it was something — anything — other than the most depressing, defeated, and resigned speech since President Jimmy Carter held the office. You might think he hadn’t devoted his third sentence to a baseless attack on his predecessor, and the entire rest of his address to death, sadness, loneliness, and despair. You might think he hadn’t literally threatened the American people, warning, “We may have to reinstate restrictions to get back on track, please, we don’t want to do that again.”

Yeah, and you might also have trouble feeding yourself, tying your shoelaces, or finding your own ass with both hands and a compass, too.

But even in so deep and dark a night as this, there are glimmers of light to be seen here and there. For instance, earlier today I was on the phone with a friend of mine as he drove along McConnells Highway in South Cackalacky. Mid-conversation, he began mumbling a slow count-off, getting up to eleven before bursting into raucous laughter. See, along a certain stretch near his place there are a lot of homes flying the now-desecrated Stars and Stripes out front. Turns out that my friend was totting up the number of folks he passed who had suddenly decided to fly their US flag upside down. This, mind, on the day after Bai-Ding puked forth the most profoundly un-American speech by a *president* in our history.

Which is actually, literally illegal unless done as a distress signal in circumstances of extreme danger to life or property, if I remember right. I figure those people needn’t worry overmuch about being arrested or jailed, though. Our current national predicament makes a pretty good argument against it.

Do, or do not

Can a post be both dead on the money and piercingly astute—yet totally, cluelessly oblivious and ambivalent simultaneously?

Over the past several years, as the woke cultural revolution intensified, conservative conversations focused on the Second Amendment as the final defense against the tyranny that may result as progressives march toward authoritarian-style government. In response, right-leaning and independent-minded citizens have shown up at protests to exercise those Second Amendment rights by posturing with firearms and assorted tactical equipment. Regardless of the prudence involved in such actions, we are now treading on new ground.

Following the November 3 election and subsequent January 6 protest at the Capitol, the current regime set out to eliminate political opposition by casting them as “white supremacists” and “domestic extremists.” They intend to use the legal authorities, tactics, and techniques that were previously employed against Al Qaeda and ISIS against those ordinary Americans who refuse to accept the ruling elite’s political ideology.

Simply put, the most deadly counterterrorism machine from the world’s most powerful country is coming for you. You, ordinary American, are the target.

Good on ya, son. I’m with you a hunnerd and ten percent so far.

Now is not the time for impotent tough talk and posturing with weapons at protests.

Uhhh, wait, whut?!?

The Second Amendment, and all of our rights, are critical to a free society, and we should seek to understand how best to exercise and defend them from authoritarian factions of the ruling elite.

By…preemptively vowing we’ll never exercise them? Are you seriously proposing that patriots should effectively disarm themselves by placing use of the 2A for the purpose it was explicitly and specifically intended off-limits and out of bounds? If you really, truly consider the 2A to be as “critical” as all that, there would be no lengths to which a patriot wouldn’t go to defend it—much less restore it. Which is where we all are now, frankly.

This is the time to get smart on how to counter this assault on liberty and avoid falling into the traps the ruling elite are setting for traditional America.

Fair enough, especially your point on the need to be extremely wary of the traps and other provocative skullduggery already deployed by The Enemy. Just the same, I question how effective any attempt to “counter this assault on liberty” is likely to prove if our very first step is to limit those attempts to strictly rhetorical, political, or nonviolent ones—particularly when The Enemy has repeatedly made plain that he recognizes no such restraints on his own actions.

But it ain’t too hard to make a pretty solid guess. When literal, intentional, and unrestrained “assault” is met with a reflexive demonstration that the response will be nothing of the sort, that display of weakness and lack of self-respect is the practical equivalent of assuring The Enemy that he has already won. However lofty or high-minded you think your intentions to be, by openly renouncing all notion of responding to authoritarian violence unhesitatingly and overwhelmingly—using any and every tool in the box—you have all but sworn fealty to your new masters and guaranteed your own subjugation.

No offense and all, but I’m afraid that just doesn’t work for me. This next part I’m okay with. Mostly.

The U.S. military uses a concept called “defense-in-depth” as its primary defensive strategy. Defense-in-depth is a layered, multi-domain approach that uses numerous defensive elements designed to delay and diffuse the advance of an attacker. Rather than relying on a single, strong defensive line, the defender wears down the enemy, causing casualties while deliberately yielding space. Once the enemy has lost momentum and is under stress, the defender mounts a decisive counterattack to destroy the enemy or drive them back to their original lines.

This strategy also works in the political world and is relevant to our current situation. An effective political defense-in-depth strategy should include all mechanisms of political action to wear down the attack on our republic, its culture, and the Constitution. The term political action isn’t just limited to casting a vote or sending money to a political party. Effective political actions include protests, general strikes, walk-outs, sick-outs, civil disobedience, lawfare, and nullification.

The Polish Solidarity movement used many of these same political actions to bring down a socialist government at the height of the Cold War without firing a shot, despite having to outmaneuver rigged elections and a Soviet-style corrupt bureaucracy.

Now might be a good time to remind everyone of my maxim that revolution and/or civil war are not events, but processes. Although the current conflict is rapidly escalating, we’re still in early innings here. Absent some totally unlooked-for, out-of-left-field igniting of the conflagration, the time is not yet ripe for violent resistance, or so it seems to me. But every passing day—and each successive outrage against America That Was—brings us closer.

Granted, the Solidarity example could well be the best one to follow at this stage of the game; as I’ve said, no nonviolent card should be left unplayed, for all sorts of perfectly good reasons. Regardless of whether the Solidarity gambit is or isn’t tried, though, I can’t quite see preemptively forswearing the 2A Solution doing any good. I really do hate to come off as if I’m ragging on a former Marine here. It’s a good article with plenty therein to make it worth a read (aside from the one thing I zeroed in on for this rant) and I do recommend it.

In the end, though, I can only see this thing the one way. And what it looks like to me is this:

The first three of the Four Boxes Of Liberty have failed us utterly; there is simply no longer any room left for productive discussion about that. To publicly vow that the Fourth Box will be forever left unopened, no matter what, is to foolishly hand The Enemy a tremendous advantage—one he will not hesitate to make fullest use of. The historical record provides more than adequate proof: an absolute, total commitment to victory at any cost will trump flinching, hesitation, and half-measures Every. Single. Time.

Fight the Power!

Pegging away at the insidious Eye in the Sky.

Drone-bottle.png

Kinda small and fuzzy-looking, I know. Hopefully you greybeards will be able to read it okay, but for anyone whose eyes just can’t get that squinty, here’s what it says:

***Attention Wayne Hills Residents***

Please stop throwing beer bottles at the drones. They are property of Portsmouth Police Department and they run surveillance on the property for your protection. We repeat, STOP KNOCKING DOWN OUR ANTI-DRUG ACTIVITY DRONES!

Heh. Yeh, yeh, yeh; suck it, espionage-boy.

However “too little, too late” in coming it may be, as far as I’m concerned there can never be a bad time to start cocking the snook at the surveillance/police state Authority, any way one can come up with to do it. These two are sterling examples of that good old red-blooded American FUCK YOU! spirit—the spirit of for-real resistance, a thing we don’t see anywhere close to enough of these dark days—and the CF chapeau is humbly doffed to ’em for this inspiring display of it. Verily, this anonymous couple is an example to us all.

Plus, as Glasser says in his caption: beer bottles are cheaper than shotgun shells.

Should you find yourself sanctioned after running afoul of the CF comments policy as stated and feel you have been wronged, please download and complete the Butthurt Report form below in quadruplicate; retain one copy for your personal records and send the others to the email address posted in the right sidebar.

Please refrain from whining, sniveling, and/or bursting into tears and waving your chubby fists around in frustrated rage, lest you suffer an aneurysm or stroke unnecessarily. Your completed form will be reviewed and your complaint addressed whenever management feels like getting around to it. Thank you.

FREEDOM!!!

"There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."
Daniel Webster

“When I was young I was depressed all the time. But suicide no longer seemed a possibility in my life. At my age there was very little left to kill.”
Charles Bukowski

“A slave is one who waits for someone to come and free him.”
Ezra Pound

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”
Frank Zappa

“The right of a nation to kill a tyrant in case of necessity can no more be doubted than to hang a robber, or kill a flea.”
John Adams

Bertrand de Jouvenel

"It is terrible to contemplate how few politicians are hanged."
GK Chesterton

"I predict that the Bush administration will be seen by freedom-wishing Americans a generation or two hence as the hinge on the cell door locking up our freedom. When my children are my age, they will not be free in any recognizably traditional American meaning of the word. I’d tell them to emigrate, but there’s nowhere left to go. I am left with nauseating near-conviction that I am a member of the last generation in the history of the world that is minimally truly free."
Donald Sensing

"The only way to live free is to live unobserved."
Etienne de la Boiete

"History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid."
Dwight D. Eisenhower

"To put it simply, the Left is the stupid and the insane, led by the evil. You can’t persuade the stupid or the insane and you had damn well better fight the evil."

"There is no better way to stamp your power on people than through the dead hand of bureaucracy. You cannot reason with paperwork."
David Black, from Turn Left For Gibraltar

"If the laws of God and men, are therefore of no effect, when the magistracy is left at liberty to break them; and if the lusts of those who are too strong for the tribunals of justice, cannot be otherwise restrained than by sedition, tumults and war, those seditions, tumults and wars, are justified by the laws of God and man."
John Adams

"The limits of tyranny are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress."
Frederick Douglass

"Give me the media and I will make of any nation a herd of swine."
Joseph Goebbels

“I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”
Ronald Reagan

"Ain't no misunderstanding this war. They want to rule us and aim to do it. We aim not to allow it. All there is to it."
NC Reed, from Parno's Peril

"I just want a government that fits in the box it originally came in."
