Oh, it’s happening alright. But Trump ain’t the one who’s doing it.
How do you like the party you supposedly voted into power so far? Or is it perhaps too much to say they were actually voted into anything? And if so — if there was something, let’s say, a little irregular with the ballot tabulation, maybe even more than a little — have they not succeeded splendidly in pissing-off more than half the people across the land? And then attempted to rub that half’s faces into the squishy, fetid loam of the DC Swamp?
I’d say that every move they make, every breath they take, seems calculated to spark a new civil war. Yesterday’s spiteful exercise in cognitive dissonance was a humdinger: Mr. Biden threatened to cut off travel to Florida for flouting his regime’s policy on Covid-19 lockdowns, while over in Texas (and several other states), he ordered a general unlocking-down of the border with Mexico, permitting the unchecked illegal ingress of thousands of possible Covid-19 carriers a day. Ron DeSantis, Florida’s governor, responded, saying — if I may paraphrase — see you in court, asshole.
How strange it is to see the group formerly so avid for social and sexual transgression, and the artistic subversion of norms, turn into the most viciously censorious species of bluenose. But, of course, you must understand that Wokery is not about principle, not even a teeny-weeny bit. It’s simply about coercion and punishment, which is exactly why apologizing for supposed counter-Woke errors never avails. In other words, you are not dealing with a mere extreme type of moralist, but rather dedicated sadists. They’re not in it to correct injustice, but for the pleasures of vengeance alone, the torturing of their quarry, and the glow of power it confers.
Not so much strange as predictable, I’ll warrant, once one becomes fully Woke to the fact that, as always, they enjoy a grant of universal exemption to abiding by the rules and standards they so mercilessly inflict on everybody else—invokable at their whim, for any reason, or for none at all. Call it a sort of “tell” exposing one facet of that core sadism you just rightly mentioned, let’s say.
And the motive is no different among the Democratic Party’s Wokesters in government. How else explain the idiotic impeachment of former president Trump, like the trial of the cadaver of Pope Formosus in the year 897, seven months after his death, for provoking the Carolingian Duke Arnolf to cross the Alps into Italy and seize the throne of the Holy Roman Empire. That episode took place in the heart of the Dark Ages, of course, but have we perhaps not entered a new Dark Age with the Woke Inquisition against — let’s just face it — Western Civ, and all its (for some) difficult-to-comprehend achievements?
Indeed we have, and it will get darker still as the New Dark Age grinds on and The Shadow of Mordor OTP deepens, until a true, unconstrained Resistance arises and brings them down.

So here we are, 20 years after 9/11, and not only is America much farther away from defeating the jihadis and communists, the communists just seized executive power in the United States one month ago.
On January 30, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace suggested that Trump supporters who “incited violence” at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 be convicted just like Al Qaeda’s leader in Yemen, Anwar al-Awlaki, who also “incited violence” and was killed in a U.S. drone strike in September 2011.
Put aside the fact for a moment that Nicolle Wallace lied when she said that al-Awlaki was killed because he “incited violence.” Awlaki was actually killed because he was the leader of Al Qaeda in Yemen and responsible for jihad attacks inside the United States.
The fact that the propaganda arm of the U.S. communist/jihadi cabal, the traditional media, is openly calling for violence against Americans exercising their unalienable right to freely express themselves and hold the federal government accountable when it is ruled by those hostile to the Constitution should alarm and alert all thoughtful patriots.
The point is clear. The U.S. government under the current communist regime in the White House will use and is using its full power to suppress and eliminate opposition.
The communists/democrats did it to President Trump when they traitorously and unlawfully used the FBI, CIA, DNI, and other agencies to spy on him, his family, and his staff.

Senator Mitch McConnell used the Senate floor to brutally trash Donald Trump after the former president was found not guilty at the impeachment trial.
The speech was so unhinged that it could have just as easily came from Nancy Pelosi.
McConnell did not hold back as he ripped Trump apart for a “disgraceful dereliction of duty” and attempting to “overturn the election.”
He claimed that the protesters stormed the Capitol because they had been “fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on earth,” and that Trump was “practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.”
“There’s no question – none – that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day,” McConnell said.
McConnell went on to say that “this was an intensifying crescendo of conspiracy theories” by a president who seemed determined to overturn the will of the voters or “torch” institutions on the way out.
The anti-Trump Republican did vote “not guilty” before giving the ridiculous speech.

Anti-Trump Republicans Look to Start Their Own Party Amid GOP Exodus
Reuters is reporting that about 120 former members of Republican administrations held a Zoom call last week to discuss plans to start a new center-right political party to counter Donald Trump’s influence on the Republican Party.
Yeah, they definitely need to reverse unwelcome recent trends like, say, actually winning one now and then; inspiring widespread grassroots support; working hard at doing what they said they were going to do; accomplishing something worthwhile on occasion; defying the Commiecrats rather than colluding with them, and so on. One can easily discern why a program of such outlandish radicalism might cause your typical housebroken GOPe “centrist” to break out in all-over hives and flop-sweat.
It’s a dubious undertaking given that they only plan to run a few candidates of their own. But the guts of their plan appears to be endorsements of like-minded centrists, be they Republican, Democrat, or independent.
OHHH yeah. Because nothing says “GOPe” like endorsing Demonrat candidates.
It’s unclear exactly what they think they can achieve. The best they can hope for is to hand the Democrats several seats currently held by pro-Trump Republicans. Otherwise, what could they meaningfully accomplish?
The restoration of the Swamp status quo, natch. Don’t kid yourself for a moment that this is about anything more than just that. All they have to do here is get Real Americans to agree to put the blinders back on, and hey presto! They’re in like Flynn again, back to their accustomed hijinks and grifts, the good old trough none the worse for the temporary absence of all those greedy snouts.
Yep, folks, this here is a story so earth-shaking, so exciting, so irresistibly compelling as to make one wonder whether the makers of Sominex might be overcome with envy at the massive collective yawn engendered by it. By blasting the twin charades of at least marginally honest elections and Constitutional propriety all to smithereens, the Uniparty cabalists sowed the seeds of their own destruction. Let the pompous excrescences finally reap the bitter harvest of irrelevance, futility, and disregard that is their due. Meanwhile, the rest of us have stuff to do—important stuff, meaningful stuff, unlike their playacting, preening, and onanistic jackanapery. We need to be getting on with it, so as not to fall behind.

31 Reasons Why I Won’t Take the Vaccine
- It’s not a vaccine. A vaccine by definition provides immunity to a disease. This does not provide immunity to anything. In a best-case scenario, it merely reduces the chance of getting a severe case of a virus if one catches it. Hence, it is a medical treatment, not a vaccine. I do not want to take a medical treatment for an illness I do not have.
- The drug companies, politicians, medical establishment, and media have joined forces to universally refer to this as a vaccine when it is not one, with the intention of manipulating people into feeling safer about undergoing a medical treatment. Because they are being deceitful, I do not trust them, and want nothing to do with their medical treatment.
- The presumed benefits of this medical treatment are minimal and would not last long in any case. The establishment acknowledges this, and is already talking about additional shots and ever-increasing numbers of new “vaccines” that would be required on a regular basis. I refuse to turn myself into a chronic patient who receives injections of new pharmaceutical products on a regular basis simply to reduce my chances of getting a severe case of a virus that these injections do not even prevent.
- I can reduce my chances of getting a severe case of a virus by strengthening my immune system naturally. In the event I catch a virus, there are vitamins and well-established drugs that have had wonderful results in warding off the illness, without the risks and unknowns of this medical treatment.
- The establishment insists that this medical treatment is safe. They cannot possibly know this because the long-term effects are entirely unknown, and will not be known for many years. They may speculate that it is safe, but it is disingenuous for them to make such a claim that cannot possibly be known. Because they are being disingenuous, I do not trust them, and I want no part of their treatment.
- The drug companies have zero liability if anything goes wrong, and cannot be sued. Same for the politicians who are pushing this treatment. I will not inject myself with a new, experimental medical device when the people behind it accept no liability or responsibility if something goes wrong. I will not risk my health and my life when they refuse to risk anything.
That last one I wasn’t previously aware of, but in the end it all comes down to the old Joker line: Trust, who do ya? The Power at every level—politicians, bureau-rats, media/propagandists—has lied continually and obviously about the Chinkenpox hoax from Day One. Anybody who retains the most tattered shred of trust in them is a fucking fool, and I heartily encourage such people to low and bleat all the way to their nearest “vaccination” center to get their shot of…whatever.

In an attempt to demonstrate concerns over “racial stereotypes” Quaker Oats set out to remove the image of the beloved Black woman on Aunt Jemima pancake products. “In June 2020, the company announced it was transitioning from the Aunt Jemima name and likeness on the packaging and pledged a $5 million commitment to support the Black community” stated a press release from PepsiCo, the parent company of Quaker Oats.“The Quaker Oats Company signed the contract to purchase the Aunt Jemima brand in 1925. It updated its image over the years in a manner intended to remove racial stereotypes that dated back to the brand origins” the press release continued. When the announcement was initially made, the company received tremendous backlash, primarily from those close to the woman behind the iconic figure.
Descendants of the original model for the Aunt Jemima label, a woman named Nancy Green, were dismayed and angered by the un-personing of their distinguished ancestor due solely to out-of-control modern political correctness, which I reported on here a while back.

In September 2019, Couy Griffin, founder of Cowboys for Trump, met with President Trump in the Oval Office.
His group, according to its website, believes “securing our border, protecting our Second Amendment, and protecting the lives of the unborn are the most vital and key aspects in America’s Greatness.” Trump supporters riding on horseback—often carrying American flags and Trump banners—participated in rallies across the country to show support for the president.
Today, Griffin sits in a jail cell denied bail.
Prosecutors charged Griffin with one minor count of trespassing as part of the Justice Department’s sweeping investigation into the events of January 6. Griffin, who is a county commissioner in New Mexico, never entered the Capitol but investigators scoured his social media account to find evidence that he was “well within the restricted area” of the building.
Griffin did not assault a police officer or break any windows or even steal an important leader’s laptop. His real crime, of course, is that he’s a supporter of Donald Trump—and his real threat to society, according to U.S. prosecutors and a federal judge, is that Griffin dares to doubt the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. (In his post-arrest interview, Griffin told the FBI “the election was stolen.”)
Arguing that Griffin is a flight risk and should remain in jail throughout his trial, government lawyers claimed his refusal to accept Joe Biden as the legitimately elected president would cause him to also “deny the authority of the judicial officers appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.”
Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui, who was neither appointed by the president nor confirmed by the Senate, concurred. “This is an offense that, at bottom, was an attempt to stop democracy from moving forward because people were unhappy about the results of the election,” Faruqui preached during a February 1 hearing. “I don’t think that the defendant will follow my conditions if he believes I am part of this machine of the democratic process.”
The judge added that refusing to accept the outcome of the 2020 election is like “not believing facts or science.” (Faruqui, it’s worth noting, was appointed a federal magistrate last year after a 12-year career at the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s office, the same office overseeing every January 6 related case. This is the swamp in action.)
So, facing just one federal misdemeanor, Griffin will remain locked up for the foreseeable future.
He is, for all intents and purposes, a political prisoner.
That’s precisely what he is, and there’s no need to be mincing words or dancing around the thing. Even worse, he’s not the only one, with many, many more soon to join him. Jules provides a few more examples, and you’d better believe they’re just the tip of a very scary iceberg:
More than 200 people have been charged so far; the FBI has described its effort as a “24/7, full bore extensive operation” and warned that agents from its 56 field offices will be fully engaged.
“The scope and scale of these investigations…is really unprecedented not only in FBI history but in DOJ history,” acting Attorney General Michael Sherwin said during a press conference on January 12.
Since all cases will be adjudicated in Washington, D.C., it’s a sure bet that defendants will be shown no mercy in the Trump-hating Beltway legal system also responsible for prosecuting Roger Stone and Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn—just a few of the Americans targeted by law enforcement solely based on their ties to Donald Trump.
“Some of the misdemeanors we’re filing, these are only the beginning, this is not the end,” Sherwin warned. “We’re looking at significant felony cases tied to sedition and conspiracy. Their only marching orders from me are to build sedition and conspiracy charges related to the most heinous acts that occurred in the Capitol, and these are significant charges that have felonies with prison terms of up to 20 years.”
This thinly-veiled threat, mind, comes from a high-level DoJ scumbucket whose agency couldn’t be bothered with getting to the bottom of Spygate, complying with Trump’s declassification orders, or doing anything whatsoever about last summer’s out-of-control rioting, looting, and destruction. Just too darned busy with important matters like, say, Bubba Ocasio-Smollett’s NASCAR noose attack, I suppose.
America’s own Great Purge and Cultural Revolution are just getting cranked up, and we ain’t seen nothing yet. Any damned fool still averting his eyes from what’s coming better get his head around the sequence of events as predicted by past lived experience, lest he suddenly find himself in the Ogulags too…or the Killing Fields.
The Enemy ain’t just whistling Dixie here, folks, nor is he playing around. If you never learned a smidgeon of history in school, I’d strongly suggest you bone up with a quickness. Otherwise, it has this nasty little habit of coming back around to bite EVERYBODY in the ass. Either pay heed to the lessons it teaches, or suffer the excruciating injury it inflicts on those who don’t.
Well, this certainly explains a hell of a lot.
Anosognosia is a condition in which the patient is suffering some severe neurological impairment but does not know it. The impairment is strictly neurological, in the higher processing regions of the brain. You might, for example, be suffering from paralysis of a limb, yet be unaware of it.
There are even some extreme cases recorded in which the sufferer is blind but does not know it! The eyes and optic nerves have normal function, but the brain centers that process visual stimulus are not working. To compensate, the brain makes up a visual field, trying to use cues from memory and the other senses.
It doesn’t work very well. You keep falling over things, but you can’t understand why.
Western society seems to have fallen into something like a social anosognosia. Our collective senses are gathering information OK, more than ever before in history in fact. But our collective brain is failing to process it, and compensates by making stuff up.
These things all came to mind when I read this February 2nd column by the notoriously Woke New York Times technology correspondent Kevin Roose ”How the Biden Administration Can Help Solve Our Reality Crisis.”
Roose locates the reality crisis in two areas: “extremist groups and conspiracy theory movements.”
The only people he actually names as being an “extremist group” are the Proud Boys. His other references are to unnamed “white supremacist groups” and “far-right militias.”
Ctrl-F “Black Lives Matter”…no hits. Ctrl-F “antifa”…no hits.
Well hey, they’re the GOOD kind of extremists, see. And as Honest Joe declared after the Jan 6th insurrection, desecration of Democracy’s Holy Sepulchre™, and genocidal massacre:
No one can tell me if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesting yesterday, they wouldn’t have been treated very, very differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol. We all know that’s true.
Of course we do, Joe. Now, how’s about a nice cup of hot cocoa and an enema before your daily injections, eh? Then: naptime!
It is indeed true, although in a sense opposite to the one Joe intended. As Gregory Hood pointed out in an earlier column, if BLM had raided the Capitol, our political classes would have fallen over each other to appease them, kneeling reverently and draping themselves in kente cloth.
The media would have cheered to the rafters such a bold act of resistance, and corporations would have poured in donations.
If Capitol Police had then arrested any of the BLM intruders, compliant prosecutors would have dismissed all charges. Had any of the intruders been black—I believe there are a few blacks in the BLM movement—and if by mischance he had been shot dead by a white Capitol Hill police officer, there would have been national frenzy on a scale that beggars the imagination.
If the deceased had been a black female, shot without warning by a white male cop—well, the Earth would have left its orbit and gone crashing into the Sun.
Yes, Joe, BLM intruders would have been treated very, very differently. That’s reality.
And yes, we have a national crisis of reality, with tens of millions of Americans believing, like you, preposterous things that defy all reason and evidence.
Surely that’s a bit harsh, John. In fairness to President Of The Shitty Half Of Amerika Biden-Harris, he doesn’t really believe those things. In fact, he’s totally unaware of them, along with nearly everything else. He just says whatever words the guy with his hand up the back of his shirt puts into his mouth, that’s all.

These neighbors are staunch partisans of blue lives, and there aren’t a lot of anything other than white lives in the neighborhood.
So here’s my response to my plowed driveway, for now. Politely, but not profusely, I’ll acknowledge the Sassian move. With a wave and a thanks, a minimal start on building back trust. I’m not ready to knock on the door with a covered dish yet.
I also can’t give my neighbors absolution; it’s not mine to give. Free driveway work, as nice as it is, is just not the same currency as justice and truth. To pretend it is would be to lie, and they probably aren’t looking for absolution anyway.
You wouldn’t know justice and truth if it kicked your teeth down your throat. And if your neighbors are misguided enough to seek absolution from your ilk, their moral compass is in need of some serious adjusting.
But I can offer a standing invitation to make amends. Not with a snowplow but by recognizing the truth about the Trump administration and, more important, by working for justice for all those whom the administration harmed. Only when we work shoulder to shoulder to repair the damage of the last four years will we even begin to dig out of this storm.
How typical of you to express “gratitude” for an act of selfless generosity that actually yielded quantifiable benefit to you with the “offer” of a condescending political lecture reciting your warped version of “truth” that nobody asked for or wants. How typical, too, the compulsion to taint a simple kindness with the inevitable injection of political acrimony in response. You regard such egotistical primping and preening as an “invitation to make amends,” when what it really amounts to is a demand for an abject confession of error required before we can all “work shoulder to shoulder” to “dig out” of a “storm” which was conjured entirely by you and yours, not by blameless “Trumpites.”

Time published a story that provides absolutely astonishing details and framing of activities that took place around the 2020 election. As readers, you deserve a detailed analysis of this story and the people and organizations involved. The recounting of the story in Time is longer than a chapter in many novels. Time says additional details will be provided in a series of articles over the next several days. This article is an introduction.
The title is provocative enough. “The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election.” The story goes on to describe in precise detail a coalition of various powerful special interest groups that united, beginning a year before the election, to ensure Joe Biden would win.

A second odd thing happened amid Trump’s attempts to reverse the result: corporate America turned on him. Hundreds of major business leaders, many of whom had backed Trump’s candidacy and supported his policies, called on him to concede. To the President, something felt amiss. “It was all very, very strange,” Trump said on Dec. 2. “Within days after the election, we witnessed an orchestrated effort to anoint the winner, even while many key states were still being counted.”
In a way, Trump was right.
There was a conspiracy unfolding behind the scenes, one that both curtailed the protests and coordinated the resistance from CEOs. Both surprises were the result of an informal alliance between left-wing activists and business titans. The pact was formalized in a terse, little-noticed joint statement of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AFL-CIO published on Election Day. Both sides would come to see it as a sort of implicit bargain–inspired by the summer’s massive, sometimes destructive racial-justice protests–in which the forces of labor came together with the forces of capital to keep the peace and oppose Trump’s assault on democracy.
The handshake between business and labor was just one component of a vast, cross-partisan campaign to protect the election–an extraordinary shadow effort dedicated not to winning the vote but to ensuring it would be free and fair, credible and uncorrupted. For more than a year, a loosely organized coalition of operatives scrambled to shore up America’s institutions as they came under simultaneous attack from a remorseless pandemic and an autocratically inclined President. Though much of this activity took place on the left, it was separate from the Biden campaign and crossed ideological lines, with crucial contributions by nonpartisan and conservative actors. The scenario the shadow campaigners were desperate to stop was not a Trump victory. It was an election so calamitous that no result could be discerned at all, a failure of the central act of democratic self-governance that has been a hallmark of America since its founding.
Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears.
And now you know just how it was that the Hunter Biden scandal got quashed so handily.
They executed national public-awareness campaigns that helped Americans understand how the vote count would unfold over days or weeks, preventing Trump’s conspiracy theories and false claims of victory from getting more traction. After Election Day, they monitored every pressure point to ensure that Trump could not overturn the result. “The untold story of the election is the thousands of people of both parties who accomplished the triumph of American democracy at its very foundation,” says Norm Eisen, a prominent lawyer and former Obama Administration official who recruited Republicans and Democrats to the board of the Voter Protection Program.
For Trump and his allies were running their own campaign to spoil the election. The President spent months insisting that mail ballots were a Democratic plot and the election would be “rigged.”
Which, of course, they were.
His henchmen at the state level sought to block their use, while his lawyers brought dozens of spurious suits to make it more difficult to vote–an intensification of the GOP’s legacy of suppressive tactics.
By such OUTRAGES AGAINST “DEMOCRACY”!!! as, oh, requiring valid ID to vote; expunging corpses from the eligible-voter rolls; checking to be sure voters hadn’t relocated; etc. Gee, what would we ever have done without these paragons of virtue looking out for us? Apart from perhaps being able to hold a, y’know, free and fair election, I mean?
Before the election, Trump plotted to block a legitimate vote count. And he spent the months following Nov. 3 trying to steal the election he’d lost–with lawsuits and conspiracy theories, pressure on state and local officials, and finally summoning his army of supporters to the Jan. 6 rally that ended in deadly violence at the Capitol.
Deadly violence—wherein a Trump supporter and USAF vet was wantonly, needlessly murdered by a trigger-happy Mordor On The Potomac orc, and the other deaths were basically due to heart attack or stroke.

What Ulysses Grant Can Teach Joe Biden About Putting Down Violent Insurrections
The deadly siege of the Capitol in Washington, which sought to overturn a legitimate election by targeting lawmakers with assassination, was not the first attempted insurrection in American history.
Right out of the gate, you can see that this is going to be the kind of even-handed, thoughtful article so typical of Leftard sewer Politico. This next is mildly interesting, including a factoid I had either forgotten about or didn’t know.
Amidst the white terror campaigns, Grant and his legislative allies spied a solution. That year, Congress passed the first of what eventually would become three Enforcement Acts. In effect, the statutes made it a federal offense to deprive individuals of civil or political rights, and provided greater federal oversight of elections and voter registration. That wasn’t all. A few weeks later Congress voted to create the Department of Justice, staffing up lawyers under the attorney general and giving the attorney general oversight of all U.S. attorneys and federal marshals.
And hasn’t THAT worked out wonderfully. Just a reminder that the roots of so many of our current problems stretch all the war back to CW 1.0 and its aftermath. But let no one claim that the lessons of the dim and distant past no longer have anything useful to teach us today.
Despite the arrests, the court system stood overburdened by the rush of indictments, and only managed to issue serious sentences for a few dozen perpetrators. And even then, the sentences — five years maximum in a federal penitentiary — hardly fit the crimes, which often entailed murder and lynching. The new judicial behemoth appeared to be less than the sum of its parts.
More importantly, creeping exhaustion began crawling across Northern white communities, fatigued as they were by a decade’s worth of combating white violence in the South. Tired of seeing their boys off to fight fellow Americans — and uneasy about the potential of living in a republic held together by bayonet — white Northerners began wilting in the face of resurgent violence across the South. A sort of moral stagnation began to take root, rotting support for the administration to continue its anti-insurrection efforts.
It was a wilting that Grant easily perceived – as did the white militants still looking for any signs of weakness among the federal crackdowns. In 1874, white terror resurged once more, seen most especially in Louisiana. In Coushatta, a town not far from Shreveport, members of the KKK-adjacent White League assassinated a number of Republican officials. Shortly thereafter, thousands of White Leaguers set their sights on their statehouse in New Orleans, then serving as the seat of Louisiana’s government. Facing off with thousands more police and Black militia-men, the white terrorists ultimately prevailed, installing a rival Democratic government in a successful insurrection—what Smith called a “coup d’etat.”
Hmmm. Food for thought.
As I heard someone say, what we saw was that the Red Shirts of South Carolina have been replaced with the Red Hats of MAGA,” Janney said. Both are clearly aimed at upending the outcomes of democratic elections, willing to use violence to cow legislators — or worse. And both aim at thwarting multi-racial coalitions in the pursuit of ethnonationalist rule, a through-line of attempting to restore white rule that connects 1861 and 1876 to 2016 and 2020. As such, Grant’s experience in battling white insurrectionists presents a pair of primary lessons for the new Biden administration.
The first lesson, experts say, is relatively clear. As Trumpian insurrectionists continue popping up across the country — propelled by “the Big Lie” that Trump’s re-election was stolen—and as Republican legislators saber-rattle about potential violence if they don’t get their way, the administration has to use the full range of tools at its disposal. “There are so many more federal laws that can be used now,” Pitcavage said. “Conspiracy laws that didn’t exist [in the 1870s], laws about federal property that didn’t exist back then, laws about paramilitary training designed to foment civil disorder—there are any number of laws on the books now that theoretically could be used.”
Such utter, utter horseshit, underlining yet again that there is simply no possibility of peaceful coexistence alongside these fascist madmen. “Upending the outcome of democratic elections”? The “Big Lie”? Endlessly repeating this twaddle will never make it truth, no matter how long the loop is. As for “thwarting multi-racial coalitions in the pursuit of ethnonationalist rule,” that’s just laughable. There is not a single inch of common ground to be found with nitwits who cherish such extravagant hallucinations, and it would be wrong to even try. To do so would require sane people to indulge the delusional ravings of dangerous lunatics, tacitly agreeing to pretend that “their truth” even remotely resembles observable reality.
Sorry, no. When their pathology becomes a genuine menace, the deranged must not be cossetted; they must be removed from society, lest real harm be done. They should be dealt with humanely, of course. But they must also be dealt with firmly. Our compassion must never be allowed to trump our resolve to preserve civil order; self-respect demands no less.

Despite the differences, Grant and Biden share more similarities than most might assume. One was a grizzled war hero, who’d crushed the most treasonous movement the country had ever seen. The other is a seasoned politician, known for moderation and political tact.

There are plenty of echoes between the era of Grant and the coming era of Biden. After all, as Grant once said, “If we are to have another [civil war], I predict that the dividing line will not be Mason and Dixon’s, but between patriotism and intelligence on the one side, and superstition, ambition, and ignorance on the other.”
Whatever else you might think of Grant, he damned sure got that one right.
And Grant’s words seem especially prescient as a new administration takes root — and looks to the lessons of previous American insurrections in order to prevent their repeat. “The fundamental question remains: Do we have a legitimate peaceful process of electing and governing that we accept? Or do we not?” Simpson said. “The stakes are actually bigger this time than during Reconstruction. Because the legacy of this deplorable episode will be whether we question the very legitimacy of a process that depends upon the acceptance of its legitimacy in order for it to work.”
With nary an acknowledgement that “acceptance of its legitimacy” depends in turn on said process actually being, y’know, legitimate. When legitimacy has been forsaken, acceptance will be withdrawn. It’s a perfectly appropriate, even vital response.
In the end, we’re left with only two possibilities here: either they’re A) constitutionally incapable of comprehending the absurdities, hyperbole, and contradictions that cripple the assertions and beliefs promoted in this dumpster fire of an article and elsewhere; or B) they’re lying through their fucking teeth—using dishonesty and manipulation as a tactic, a means of achieving a desired goal. Yeah, explain to me again why any decent person should WANT to find “common ground” with such swine, whydon’tcha.
Go ahead on, China Joe. You send out your Schutzstaffel squads. Compile your lists of Enemies Of The State. Build your gulags. The story included a tweet from Ratajkowski, who tweeted, “Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault. Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power.”
Benny Johnson tweeted back, “You’re joking, right? Arrested?
“I watched the cops walk up to you and ask politely if you wanted to be arrested. You & Amy Schumer said ‘yes.’ Then you both just sat comfortably on the floor until the cops gave you special wristbands & politely escorted you out

Let’s consider for a moment, purely for the sake of argument, that this were actually true. If folk, including governors, started treating Trump as the legitimate president and, therefore, the election illegitimate, what’s to stop them from treating an impeachment or indictment as equally illegitimate? Even imprisonment (follow that indictment with a show trial and send him to prison) wouldn’t stop it. After all, it’s not unknown for mob bosses to continue to run their organizations from behind bars.
So, what’s the solution? If this is truly the path they were to take how would they stop that “shadow government”? There are only two ways. One would be to hold Trump completely incommunicado, even to the extent of forbidding him contact with counsel to discuss appeals and other aspects of due process. Or they would simply have to kill him (assassination or execution depending on whether they fig-leaf it with a kangaroo court).
That would be absolute “go time”. Count on it.
Indeed, at this point, after comments by people like you, Pam, the movers and shakers among the Left need to be praying for Trump’s continued good health because if anything happened to him, anything at all–his fault, their fault, nobody’s fault–nothing in the universe would prevent people from assuming it was a political assassination and responding accordingly. Just like few people believe that Epstein killed himself.
So, I’ll say it here first: Donald Trump did not kill himself.
At that point, it won’t matter what actually happened. All that will matter is what people believe. And, people will believe that your side had him killed. And none of your willing lapdogs in the media will be able to change that belief. And when you add rhetoric about making lists of Trump “supporters” with what qualifies as a “supporter” being left delightfully vague, people with even a modest preference for Trump’s policies (i.e. close to half the nation) will see their options shrinking, getting closer to “fight or die” or maybe “fight and die or just die”. In which case, you’ll see a lot of people figuring if they are going down anyway, they might as well take a few others with them.
And that is why following your line of thinking to its inevitable conclusion is a very bad idea indeed.
Ahh, but only if we make it so. Which we definitely should. The lesson should be so, umm, vigorously taught that the learning experience causes physical pain for the student. Also raises welts. And leaves permanent scars.
