GOPe circular firing squad gathers

Looks like some of them ARE getting right back to business as usual.

For a good long while, many Republicans believed Attorney General William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham would produce a slew of indictments for the bad actors of the Russia probe. A bushel of bad news always sat just around the corner for James Comey, James Clapper, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, and many others.

Judgement day, however, kept getting postponed. The trove of sealed indictments always seemed to slide just beyond arm’s reach. In the meantime, the Republican Party went P. T. Barnum on Bill Barr, fundraising on the promise of revenge against a whole host of ne’er-do-wells.

But after a year-and-a-half of imminent indictments, and a lot of fundraising, it became more than evident that the Barr-Dunham probe which provided so much chum for right-wing waters was pure grift. The “deep state” goon squad would never see the inside of a prison cell. 

Not because they were exonerated, or blameless. Nor was it because a good case against them wasn’t made, or makeable. It was because the fix was in. That hardly serves as an affirmation of the integrity of the system. Quite the opposite, actually.

Then another investigation came along. One that sparked the hopes of millions of Trump supporters still reeling from an election night gone wrong, one that started off just as promising as the Barr-Durham probe.

Amid a series of irregularities and apparent voter fraud, Sidney Powell, a former federal prosecutor and a member of Trump’s legal team for the election, leaped onto the scene, guns blazing. Just like Barr.

Bear with me just a bit further, gang; he’s about to go way wrong, you’ll see.

The issue with Powell was never that fraud didn’t occur or that she was making it up out of whole cloth, but that her claims are so extraordinary that they would threaten to discredit the case for real fraud if they turned out to be exaggerated or in any way untrue. There are many compelling examples of irregularities involving mail-in ballots, ejected poll observers, and more that are worthy of serious investigating.

But Powell has set the bar so incredibly high above those things now. This is not to say that there is not or could not be some basic truth to some of her claims, but that it is dangerous to build the case for fraud entirely on one person’s shoulders. As a result, “belief” in Powell has become a kind of purity test for some Trump supporters, creating internecine conflicts at the drop of a hat. It’s also preventing the Trump movement from performing any kind of introspection on what might have been some of the campaign’s mistakes.

Codswallop. If fraud was committed—and it couldn’t be more apparent that it was, with an abundance of credible evidence confirming it—then “introspection” and “mistakes” aren’t relevant.

If Powell’s claims are all true, then there would be no need to consider that perhaps it was a mistake to court rather than tackle the corporate and tech forces now garroting Trump’s last-ditch efforts. If Powell is right, there is no reason to criticize the Trump campaign’s racial-spoils pandering, its failure to keep signature platform promises, or its critical personnel problems. Because the only problem will have been, according to her, that as many as 10 million fraudulent votes and up to 7 million votes were switched from Trump to Biden. The unexpected side effect of all this is an unremittingly uncritical movement that will circle the wagons to defend the most poisonous pills in the White House and viciously attack those who are otherwise allies. Powell’s moment in the limelight is reminding us of the dangers of personality cults.

“Personality cults”? Well, okay then.

Now, as the recent spate of Powell skeptics or debunkers go, the above is actually mild stuff. This guy is more even-handed and polite about it than many others have been, let’s just concede that right up front. Even so, it still gripes me, although possibly not for the reasons you might assume. Let’s start with this.

I don’t have that evidence, but the fact that Sidney Powell claims she does is enough to convince me. This is a woman who gave up years of income she could have earned in her profitable practice to write, print, and promote a book no publisher would touch. Its charges were too explosive, I imagine.

Its targets, like Andrew Weissman (the protege of FBI director Christopher Wray) wield too much power. Tellingly, none of the people Powell exposed in Licensed to Lie have dared to sue her for defamation or libel. She put herself out there as a target for such a suit by writing the book—with no publishing house’s attorneys on board to defend her. But no one did, I’m sure because her charges were absolutely truthful.

Non-partisan legal expert Jonathan Turley is one of the few reliable commentators left out there. He observed after watching the press conference that Powell and the rest of the president’s team took a similar risk today. They accused a massive corporation, Dominion, with links to friendly billionaires like Soros and many foreign governments, of felonies. Of colluding with corrupt election officials to steal the White House.

Given the death threats to election officials in Michigan, and the doxing of their children, for refusing to certify a corrupt election, I’d say Ms. Powell is risking a lot more than money.

But there Sidney stood fearlessly on television, her voice quavering a little at the enormity of the evil she has helped to uncover. Meanwhile the Vichy-conservatives over at National Review and other “squish” venues sniped at her, and at Rudolph Giuliani, who faced down the hitmen of the New York Mafia, then broke its back. One called the Trump team “unhinged,” and sniffed at its lack of “dignity.”

If you think your country’s elections are being stolen, and your main concern is for keeping your “dignity,” then I don’t want you next to me in a foxhole. You’ll switch sides if the enemy offers a chocolate bar, and a chance to save your skin.

Getting closer, but still not quite there yet. More, and closer still:

Imagine that fairly high-ranking government officials, former mayors and prosecutors, hold a press conference accusing the Joint Chiefs of Staff of planning to shoot down an American airliner. They say the plan is to blame China, Russia, or Cuba.

Immediately they are depicted as nuttier than a Christmas fruitcake. Legacy media paints them as fabulists looking for book deals. Psychologists speculate on their sanity. Social media doubles down on purges. It’s almost like there was a Zoom call to coordinate it all.

Undaunted, the self-described whistleblowers offer even bolder claims in interviews. They say the Joint Chiefs will set off bombs in Washington, D.C. and other U.S. cities. Canada and U.S. bases abroad will be attacked. It’s described as a “very well-funded” operation with CIA involvement.

There are mentions of original documents and check stubs proving payoffs. We’re told to expect more details by the end of this week.

Americans split into factions. The conspiratorial say this is only the beginning and Jeff Bezos and the Post Office and Bill Gates are in on it. MSNBC veers between ignoring the claims and screeching about Nazis. The rival political party starts muttering about criminal charges for treason. Fans of Enemy of the StateWag the Dog, or Three Days of the Condor keep an open mind. Wasn’t Burt Lancaster that Joint Chiefs guy in Seven Days in May who tried a coup?

This is a little like the situation we find ourselves in when evaluating claims of a massive operation to steal the election for Joe Biden.

If we were told that boxes of ballots for Biden were carted into Philadelphia inner-city precincts at 3 a.m., that would be easy to believe. Or if we were told that Republican observers were prevented from observing and that windows are boarded up in Detroit. We’ve seen the videos despite our increasingly irate Silicon Valley overseers threatening us with the lash.

But attorneys Sidney Powell and Lin Wood are not stopping there. They say perhaps 10 million fake votes were generated. They argue that the rot is global. In an interview two days ago, Powell said there was “foreign interference in our election” including from “China, Iran, Serbia, Lichtenstein.” Powell said “the CIA, I’m sure, has a hand in it.” She said to expect a lawsuit by the end of this week.

These allegations raise the stakes. They transform suspicions of Chicago-style fraud into an existential national crisis. If their claims about national-scale computerized fraud are true, democracy in the republic is over. The fix is in. Elections are a sham. Our ruling elite select the winner, and complainers get the camps.

Yep, almost there now. JJ brings us onto the porch and rings the bell:

If anyone doubts that there is not a Globalist plot to take America down, especially in light of what we and this President have experienced these past four to 20 years and really since the end of the Second World War, then please describe the bumps on your sigmoid as you have your head up your ass. If Sidney Powell is guilty of anything, it’s perhaps fighting the right battle but at the wrong time. That is unless she really does have the Kraken of all evidence ready to be released. I hope she does. In any case, my anger is not at her, nor at Rudy Giuliani, Jenna Ellis or anyone else on the Trump Team. My incandescent rage that can never be slaked is at the traitors and the Enemy for snuffing out the last vestige of this republic and for those allegedly on our side who are their willing accomplices. Worst of the bunch are the state legislators and other GOP politicians in the six states that know firsthand that the Enemy stole their elections and should be convening right now to assign their electors to Trump. There is no excuse for that, threats of violence or not. This is a war now, and we are this close to an open shooting war, and considering the firebombing of several dozen cities over the past six months, arguably we’re at that stage already.

Whatever happens with Sidney Powell’s case, she is the very last person I am ever going to attack. For me, her motivations, if not perhaps (as remains to be seen) her strategy, are beyond reproach. Until you (the royal you) show me the proof – as you have demanded of her – that she is anything but a great patriot, I’m with her all the way. Because we are going to need an army of Sidney Powell’s should worse come to worse.


Dingdingdingdingding! We’re home, everybody!

See, it’s like this: I don’t give a tinker’s dam whether Powell is exaggerating, or grandstanding, or stoking her own ego, or just dead wrong. I don’t care if she’s stretching the truth a mite, if she has some of her details jumbled, or if she’s being misled in some fashion. Honestly, she could be making the whole thing up for all I give a shit. I’ll still stand shoulder to shoulder with her against our common enemy, be he a rabid Lefty loon, a Democrat-Socialist con artist, or a NeverTrumpTard Vichy Republican. I’m on her side no matter what, and Cadaver Joe Biden, Commie Kamala, and every last Enemedia propagandist can all go piss up a rope. Likewise Bill Kristol, Ewan McMuffin, David French, Mitt Romany, and the whole sorry lot of ’em.

The Enemy closes ranks when attacked, no matter what. We, on the other hand, natter and obssess over trivia, personality conflicts, and general persiflage. We bog ourselves down in niggling “debate” as if our very way of life wasn’t on the line here. We respond to direct frontal assault with over-intellectualizing and parlor pedantry. Then we kill our wounded, apologize for our beastly shortcomings, and slink off the field in ignominious retreat.

No Vichy GOPer ever yet found a hill that was worth dying on. For our side, “living to fight another day” always seems to take precedence over kicking the enemy’s ass up between his fucking shoulder blades. Because we’re “better than they are.” Because we must always “take the high road.” Because “that’s not who we are.”

The Enemy is making war. We’re making tea and crumpets. Bottom line:

What Trump, like Caesar, understands is that he can’t back down from this fight, even should he wish to. During his long campaign in Gaul, Caesar made it a point never to retreat; on one occasion when even the famed 10th Legion temporarily broke ranks during a battle, the chagrined legionaries asked their commander to decimate their ranks for cowardice. (Caesar refused.)

Trump similarly grasps that to stand down now, even in the face of overwhelming opposition—some of it coming from within his own ranks—would spell an ignominious end to his presidency and demoralize his voting legions. To leave an open question of whether our porous and multifarious systems of voting are easily manipulated and therefore untrustworthy would be to do the nation a great disservice.

As we’ve seen throughout the past four years, appeasement doesn’t work. No matter what the duly elected president of the United States did, there was no satisfying the rabid left and its media lackeys, short of Trump’s expulsion from office, however effected.

And so they mounted one of the strangest counter-campaigns in U.S. political history, rigging their nomination process to spit forth a superannuated, lifelong political hack rushing headlong into his embarrassing dotage and installing as his vice president the dangerous woman they really wanted to head their ticket, but who couldn’t garner any support during the primaries. It’s a breathtakingly cynical ploy, and a stain on American political history should it succeed.

So please, Mr. President, fight all the way to the end. Until these cases get to court—the big one, located right behind the Capitol—and your augments can be heard over the talking heads and the chattering classes, go on national television and explain to the American people what the stakes really are: not your political survival, but the survival of the Republic itself under a Constitution the left increasingly and openly despises.

Just so. Oh, and about that whackadoo conspiracy theory Normal American mentioned, wherein the JCOS plotted to down an American airliner for their own nefarious purposes? Silly stuff, I know, and it does kinda put Sydney Powell’s reckless, baseless allegations in a somewhat dimmer light. Right?

RIGHT?!?

Back to our whistleblowers’ claims of false flag attacks on an airliner and Washington, D.C. It might sound like a half-baked conspiracy theory.

But it would have been true. In 1962, the Joint Chiefs of Staff proposed shooting down an American civilian airliner, bombing D.C., and other false flag actions. It was called Operation Northwoods. President Kennedy rejected the proposal. He was assassinated the next year.

Then and now, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. The kraken remains elusive.

Perhaps. But for me, proof no longer matters. I know who the enemy is; I know what he is, what he intends, how he will use the power he’s usurped. I care about one thing now, and one thing alone: annihilating him. I won’t hesitate to employ any and every weapon I can get my hands on—large or small, clean or dirty, fair or unfair, honorable or sneaky—that will help to get that job done. If Sydney Powell is such a weapon then I’m all for her, and straight to hell with all other considerations. If not, I’ll look for another.

The era of cynicism

It’s the only thing that makes sense anymore.

The Soviet Union, like all radical experiments, went through several phases in its roughly three generations of existence. The first phase, of course, was the revolution, in which the old order was toppled and a battle ensued to fill the void. This initial phase of revolution is always the one that attracts the most attention. This is when the great heroes of the revolution and the great villains of it are made. It is in this phase we get both Lenin and Stalin, hero and villain.

There is a phase that gets little attention and that is when the people come to terms with the irrationality of the world that has been created for them. One reason Stalin was able to send so many to their deaths or to labor camps is so many people kept thinking there was some rationality to the world being created. Some remained idealistic believers in the cause, while others became critics of the cause. They assumed the revolution would bring clarity and rationality when it brought only the opposite.

In time, the people came to terms with this. The humor of the Soviet Union reflected the fact that one got along by accepting the irrational in the same way you accept that the grass is green or the sky is blue. You don’t think about it. The jokes were often about these daily contradictions and how the unfortunate were those who did not get the joke that was at the heart of those contradictions. In other words, the joke was always on the fool who was not cynical enough to anticipate the lie.

This is relevant in our current age as we may be past the revolutionary stage and into that time when the people adjust to the irrational. The legacy conservative media keeps pounding the drum about how “we’re lurching into socialism” when we have been a socialist society for generations now. There is no aspect of our economic life outside the grip of the now semi-permanent ruling class. Telling people otherwise is just part of the way the ruling class controls the population.

Of course, this reality is dawning on even the dullest people, so we are being told that the bad guys are planning a “radical revolution.” The truth is, that revolution is well past the planning stage. It has already happened. From top to bottom, despite party labels or rhetoric, the system is stacked with people committed to the great reordering of society into the egalitarian paradise. The expulsion of Trump from office like a foreign body is the proof that the organism of state is wholly alien now.

In other words, a revolution has occurred out of view from the rest of us and now we are seeing the revolutionaries step out of the shadows. This is not a lot different than how Stalin took control of the party and government. He quietly consolidated his hold on the party, while his rivals were thinking the revolution was still ongoing. By the time they realized what had happened, it was too late. This realization was probably (the) penultimate thing that went through Trotsky’s head.

GREAT line, that one. Onwards.

Now we are in the phase where we get used to the often-bizarre contradictions in the rules being imposed by the new rulers. Some are easy, like the fact that states have put mentally disturbed Jewish men in sundresses in charge of public health. These are ornamental positions, so putting a crazy person in the role allows the governor to display his piety at little cost. Until the Covid hysteria, no one had any reason to know their state had public health officials.

Other bits of the new normal have no explanation. For example, states are now telling people they cannot make noise in their home, as part of the alleged fight against the spread of Covid. In Europe, they are banning the sale of alcohol at certain times, claiming this is to fight Covid.

Hate to bring it up and all, Z, but it ain’t just Europe.

On Wednesday, Nov. 25, restaurants and bars (in Pennsylvania—M) are ordered to suspend alcohol sales at 5 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26. Gov. Wolf says the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the “biggest day for drinking” and acknowledged bars and restaurants have been hit hard by the pandemic, but this one-night ban is needed.

Uh huh. Now as it happens, this grotesquely un-Constitutional decree was actually issued by the very “mentally disturbed Jewish man in a sundress” ZMan mentioned above (utterly ludicrous photo of said headcase at the GP link), which is pretty funny all by itself. But El Supremo Wolf’s follow-on “don’t blame meeee!” whine is one for the record books.

“The thing that we can’t do is ignore reality and say ‘yeah you folks, for no fault of your own, have been hit hardest by this virus.’ But the virus is what’s doing this. It’s not me. It’s not the administration. It’s not the government,” said Gov. Wolf.

Oh no no no, of course not. As everyone knows, tyranny is never, EVER the fault of an invasive, too-powerful government, even less so of the overreaching crawly things in charge of running it! Why, who could ever countenance making such an outlandish, irrational claim as that, for goodness’ sake? Such talk really ought to be against the law, if you ask me.

My GOD, the balls on these oxygen thieves. But honestly, how can you not love it just the same? Consider:

  • The ability to spew patent claptrap with a straight-face: “The thing that we can’t do is ignore reality…”WHEN “IGNORING REALITY” IS PRECISELY WHAT HE’S DOING
  • Alcohol sales must be banned—because, as has been firmly established by extensive research, testing, and observation, THEVIRUSTHEVIRUSTHEVIRUS!!!™is a bigger lush than Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and the ghost of Ted Kennedy put together, and just looooves itself a good, solid toot—but only between the hours of 5pm and 8am Thanksgiving Day. After 8am, humanity will BE SAAAAAFE!!! again, and can enjoy a snort if it likes. But not a moment before. Because, y’know, SCIENCE!!!
  • A nonsentient cluster of RNA strands and other such granular material—without authority, official standing, or even the ability to speak or sign the unlawful order—is somehow, some way, “what’s doing this.” Again: uttered with a straight face, with as much fake conviction as any lower-tier American pro-pol slime mold can scrape up, as if the man actually expected sensible people to believe it
  • BE SAAAAAAAFE!!! Also, do as you’re told, or else

Please pardon me, all, but I need to ask a simple question at this point:

WHY IN THE EVER-LOVIN’ BLUE-EYED WORLD AREN’T THESE WORMS EITHER LOCKED UP OR SWINGING BY THEIR NECKS FROM A FUCKING LAMPPOST, ANYWAY?

“Evidence” and “proof” are NOT synonyms

Now, black letter law.

The Trump campaign are plaintiffs. They have no obligation to prove anything. Nor do they have the power to subpoena things, documents, and persons, nor to compel testimony that might be dispositive regarding the sufficiency of fraud. Nor do they have the right to adjudicate disputes any more than the press has the right or power to do so.

The plaintiff’s only burden is to establish in the minds of persons who are empowered by law to subpoena evidence, compel, testimony, etc. what the semi-sacred words of American law call “probable cause” that fraud may have been committed. These persons are courts, principally federal, as well as state legislatures that possess investigative powers, as well as the U.S. Justice Department. These institutions (other than Justice) are also the only ones that have the right to decide what constitutes sufficient proof of what.

The Trump campaign has spoken in ways that suggest that it can prove fraud. It cannot. Not as a matter of law nor, given its lack of subpoena powers and compulsive power, can it do so as a matter of fact. Giving that impression, it has tended to discourage the persons who should be seized by their duty to follow “probable cause” of fraud—and there is plenty of that.

The Enemedia wretches cawing about the “lack of any evidence” are perfectly aware of the distinction between “evidence” and “proof,” of course. Likewise, they also know full well that Trump’s legal team is under no obligation whatsoever to reveal any part of the probable-cause evidence to them, nor to any other living soul on Earth not directly involved in the investigatory and/or litigation process.

Yes, Tucker too. He was dead wrong when he jumped all over Powell after she repeatedly declined to make her case and present her evidence, in full or in part, for his TV audience. Sorry, Tucker, but you have neither the right nor the weight to make such a demand. By persisting well beyond the point where you should have just backed off and let it go, all you accomplished was to make yourself look like a petty, petulant, over-entitled jackass. Hate to say it, but that’s the long and the short of it.

But while we’re excerpting Codevilla, let’s all follow along as he delves into the underpinnings of the whole damnable 2020 mess, a blatantly stolen election being only the ne plus ultra of this shaggy-ass goatfuck of a year.

For four decades beginning in the mid-1960s, a class of rulers grew in America. They became ever more uniform socially and intellectually, ever more opposed to the rest of Americans, and ever more powerful. This happened as government took upon itself the tasks of eliminating poverty and harmonizing the races, and as it controlled ever greater shares of the national income.

Increasingly, their powers were based on claims of expertise coming from the universities. These underwent a fourfold increase in size (from 9 percent of Americans with four-year degrees in 1965 to 36 percent in 2015). Their connection with government conferred both wealth and additional prestige. Few paid attention to President Eisenhower’s warning about the connection between government and academic elites.

Elsewhere, I have discussed how inherently pregnant with peril the existence of such a class was for constitutional life. Suffice it to say, by the beginning of the Obama Administration in 2009, the rest of Americans had sensed that American public life had ceased to revolve around the struggle between Democrats and Republicans, and was more between those who lived by the ruling class’ privileges, and those who did not—between the “ins” and the “outs,” between the ruling class and what had been known in English history as the country class.

During the Obama years, the American country class’ budding resistance spurred the ruling class further to become conscious of itself, to increase its own privileges, its cohesion, and above all its contempt for and demands on those below them. Political correctness ceased to be bemusing for the country class and came to be seen as the threat to freedom that it is. Corporate America became indistinguishable from government in its demands for compliance. That is why the 2016 presidential primaries and election revealed a substantial anti-ruling class majority among Americans, though it was split between opposite ends of the political spectrum.

In short, during the Obama years the ruling class was becoming an oligarchy that ruled by exercising the powers of government and of incumbency in corporations as well as all manner of social institutions. Private institutions, allied with government and inspired by government-supported universities, increasingly exercised arbitrary powers.

But by November 2016 this oligarchy had yet to articulate itself into something capable of acting for a common purpose. That is why the 2016 election may prove to have been the last more-or-less bona fide free election in America’s history.

Count on it. The one and only amusement Real Americans can savor from the situation, bitter though it is: the Gentleman Losers of the GOPe seem to truly believe that, now that the horrible Orange Man will soon be disposed of, we can all get back to business as usual straightaway, just like it was back in the good old Before Times. Gee, too bad for them that Codevilla is perfectly correct about 2016 being the last relatively free election this country will have, until/unless the rotten and illegitimate FederalGovCo is toppled and replaced with something entirely else.

The Democrat-Socialist crime cartel is now large and in charge, and they aim to keep it that way too. So can anyone really be so obtuse as to imagine that, having successfully swindled their way back into absolute power, they’ll balk at any conceivable skullduggery to do it over and over again from now on? Because what, they’re just too nice, too morally upright, too honorable to stoop to such chicanery more than just this one time?

It is to laugh. Say it with me: They will not stop. They will have to BE stopped. Until such time as we muster the yarbles to do it, we’re all in for a rough, rough ride, folks.

The feel-good video of the century

Is the Rebellion too late? Or just in the nick of time?

In my favorite video, perhaps ever, a group of Buffalo-area New York business owners stood up to the unelected Erie County Health Department and Sheriff’s officers who came to shut down their meeting to plan how to survive the latest shutdown of “non-essential” businesses at a local gym, Athletes Unleashed.

Local state governments all over the United States have been dictating to small businesses how they can be open or if they can be open at all while allowing Walmart and Target to operate unmolested through the entire coronavirus pandemic. As a result, Walmart and other corporate businesses are making record profits while mom-and-pop shops go belly-up under the heavy weight of unfair regulations from unelected health officials who aren’t accountable to the people.

The people of Orchard Park, New York, have had enough and have finally done what I have been saying should have been done from the beginning. Tell the government to get the hell off your private property and to go get a signed warrant from a judge if they want to shut you down: then you can fight them in court. But simply obeying unconstitutional restrictions on liberty should no longer be an option.

It never WAS an option. “Fighting them in court”? Sorry, but that ain’t gonna be near enough either.

Study after study has shown that lockdowns hurt more people than they help and do not completely stop the spread of the highly contagious virus. If the grocery store can operate, so can a gym or a hair salon. It’s beyond time for a real movement of mass disobedience. Imagine ordering people to stop exercising for their “health!” It’s beyond absurd to close gyms and keep McDonald’s open because of a health crisis and it’s time for this idiocy to stop.

It’s time for the people to take their lives back. These business owners in Orchard Park did it exactly right. Watch this and be inspired. This makes me proud to be an American where we still have the greatest document on earth protecting us from tyranny if we would only use it.

Bless dear ol’ Megan’s heart, she nailed it one. As I’ve said so many times myself: the Constitution—brilliantly conceived as it most certainly is, a damned near flawless blueprint for proper governance, bequeathed to us by giants among mortal men—is nonetheless no more than words on paper in the end. Words require a lot of real-world backup if they’re ever to be anything more than mere ideas, ambitions, or pipe-dreams. They require reinforcement by a righteous, stout-hearted citizenry unswervingly committed to the cause of liberty to retain any meaning at all. The words can outlive the commitment by not a single moment; when the one thirsts, the other wilts.

Not only did the people kick the officers and the inspector out of the gym, but they walked them all the way off the private property. Well done. Stand up for your rights as a business owner and an American. No officer of the law or government agent has any business on your property without a warrant. Make copies of the Constitution available and post a sign that says, “Unless you want to buy something, law enforcement is not allowed on private property without a warrant. Take a pocket Constitution with you as you leave.”

Fuckin’ A right. It’s dismaying, frightening even, that such elemental concepts—the very foundation of our once-proud Republic, no less—have come to sound so radical, even extreme, to modern ears.

By now, the election has displayed numerous “tells” that our own State Department uses to highlight fraudulent vote tabulation in countries like Iran and Ukraine: statistical anomalies, blocking and obscuring official observers, procedural irregularities such as stopping vote counts, suspicious software “glitches,” and social media blackouts when citizens raise the alarm.

Thankfully, litigation, hand-recounts, and even federal investigations of fraud are all underway—a process that other countries with questionable elections like Syria don’t have. But if proof of systematic meddling is uncovered, Americans must still rely on the justice system to act on this proof, and the media to ensure the rightful winner is declared.

But what if these hallowed institutions don’t deliver?

It might be terrifying to admit, but American democracy depends on authorities who have lost the public trust: unbiased state and city officials to ensure procedural fairness, unbiased election workers to ensure vote integrity, unbiased judges to enforce that integrity, and unbiased media to inform the American people about the other three. Who will audit the auditors? To examine one test case, the Georgia GOP has already raised alarms that the promised audit in their state does not meet crucial evidentiary criteria. Will something be done?

This election represents the ultimate test of our system and its resilience in a partisan age. If partisans can seize levers of power that impact election results, and they’ve shown they’ll stop at nothing in their revanchism, why engage in elections at all? 

And what other recourse, short of revolution, can right the situation? 

I’ve been trying really hard, but I can’t think of a single one. So it’s Amerizuela or bust.

Sidney Powell explained one of the many alleged anomalies of the 2020 presidential election on the Rush Limbaugh show: “Trump votes were programmed to switch to Biden ahead of time, but Trump’s votes were so high, it didn’t work right because they didn’t set their algorithms high enough.” Could that explain the sudden pauses in the counting of votes in crucial swing states on election night? Trump was too far ahead, and adjustments had to be made to ensure a Biden victory? Powell has also released information claiming that Smartmatic voting software, which was used extensively in the United States in the 2020 election, was manipulated in Venezuela to ensure the victories of socialists Hugo Chavez and Nicholas Maduro.

That isn’t evidence that this software was used in a fraudulent manner in the United States, but it raises the question, and we will likely not get definitive answers until the disputed election reaches the Supreme Court, and even then the arguments will go on. Nevertheless, the ongoing revelations about the 2020 election are more than enough, if not to overturn the result, then at very least to underscore the fact that whether or not President Trump’s efforts to throw out illegal votes and stop voter fraud this year succeed, America will have no more free elections if this problem is not thoroughly addressed, and concrete actions taken to ensure that future elections are tamper-proof.

And so it’s all on the line now with Sidney Powell, Rudolph Giuliani, and the rest of Trump’s legal team. Those who are dismissing even the possibility that the presidential election could have been rigged lack a historical sense. America has had fraudulent elections before, even at the presidential level: as Rating America’s Presidents details, Andrew Jackson raged (although he almost certainly wasn’t as unhinged as Hillary) for four years against what he called the “corrupt bargain” that he charged John Quincy Adams had made with Henry Clay to secure victory in the 1824 election, which went to the House of Representatives; he then rode that rage to a landslide victory over Adams in 1828.

Then in 1876, the election dispute dragged on until March 2, 1877, two days before what was then Inauguration Day. In exchange for Democrat acquiescence to his victory, the Republican Rutherford B. Hayes agreed to remove federal troops from the South, disenfranchising black Americans and creating the Democrats’ segregationist “Solid South” that lasted until the next fraudulent election, that of 1960. In that one, Democratic Party machines manufactured enough votes to deliver Illinois and Texas to John F. Kennedy. JFK’s opponent Richard M. Nixon opted not to contest the results, despite having evidence in hand, because of the disruption a disputed election would have caused to Cold War America.

But now the Cold War is long over, the Solid South is a distant memory, and the “corrupt bargain” is the one Trump referred to in a late October rally: “Joe Biden has made a corrupt bargain in exchange for his party’s nomination. He has handed control of his party over to the rage-filled socialist Marxist and left-wing extremists. And could we put another name in there? Starts with a ‘C.’ Communist. Yes. No, we got a couple of them too, unfortunately.”

Yes, we do. And we could have more very soon. If they’re victorious now, we may not get another chance to challenge their hegemony. We have seen how that works in Venezuela.

A political director for the Joe Biden campaign has been arrested for electoral fraud.

The Democrat Director of Texas state political strategy for the Joe Biden Presidential campaign has been arrested for electoral fraud.

Democratic Party operative Dallas Jones was formally accused of helping to run an illegal ballot harvesting operation in the state of Texas on behalf of the Joe Biden campaign during this contested Presidential election.

According to the National File, two investigators, including a former FBI agent and former police officer, testified under oath that they have Democratic Party internal documentation, as well as video evidence and witnesses, for their investigation.

Mind you don’t EVER drop that soap, sweetie. Attached to the post is an affidavit from retired Houston PD captain and private investigator Mark A. Aguirre, which lays out some details:

I am currently involved in an investigation related to a wide-ranging and fraudulent ballot harvesting scheme in Harris County intended to rig the elections in the Houston/Harris County area. This scheme involves voter fraud on a massive scale.

Based on interviews, review of documents, and other information, I have identified the individuals in charge of the ballot harvesting scheme. These individuals include political consultant Dallas Jones, who was recently hired by the Joe Biden for President campaign to oversee their Harris County initiative, District 13 Texas State Senator Borris Miles, who is the handler of Mr. Jones, political consultant Gerald Womack, and Precinct 1 Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis. One of the companies these individuals are using as a front for this operation is AB Canvassing, although there are others that have been identified that we are investigating.

I have in my possession video-taped interviews of witnesses attesting to the aforementioned people having groups of people completing thousands of absentee and mail-in ballots, including completing ballots for deceased individuals; illegally going into nursing homes, with the complicity of the nursing home staff, and filling out and forging the signatures of nursing home residents; signing up homeless individuals to vote using the ballot harvester’s address, then completing the ballot and forging the homeless individual’s signature.

This entire operation is being run by the elite politicians of the Democrat Party in Houston/Harris County.

Because of course it is. And with the blessing and best wishes of the entire national Demonrat cartel, no doubt. I repeat: Who they are. What they do.

Actually, there IS one other response available for Real Americans who still retain the gumption to countenance using it: SEND the bastards there.

That is not a passage from some dystopian novel or a command by a Marxist dictator or a parody in The Onion. It’s guidance posted on the Centers for Disease Control website courtesy of the United States government. Think about that: Some federal bureaucrat, probably a highly credentialed “expert” with a messianic complex, is telling 330 million Americans that they should not sing. In their own homes. So they don’t spread a mostly harmless virus to other people.

It’s beyond laughable, but this isn’t a joke. These people are serious. And they should receive a collective middle finger from the American people.

If there’s any upside to this God-awful year, it’s the revelation that the people in charge are inhumane sociopaths consumed with their own egos and lust for power. The nation—and the world—is being subjected to a destructive pseudoscientific experiment that has failed spectacularly in its stated mission to “stop” COVID-19 while inflicting an economic, educational, and personal toll that never will be fully calculated.

Everyone has suffered but no one has been punished for unleashing this slow-moving catastrophe. To the contrary, the cabal of culpable government leaders are digging in their boot heels to crush the collective spirit of the country. At a time when people need to be with their friends and families the most, a time when the soul-soothing routine of the holidays has never been more necessary, the government’s soulless apparatchiks seek to strip away our last vestiges of joy.

These people are not healthy. They don’t care about you or your child or your elderly parent. They care only about power and control. They should be mocked then ignored. Sadly, however, millions of brainwashed Americans will dutifully comply. Cherished moments will be forsaken without any guarantee they’ll return next holiday season.

Smoking gun seized

Is Trump about to drop The Big One? First, we have this.

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., on Friday said conservatives should be wary about glitches and security issues with voting machines, given an apparent sea change in support from President Trump to Joe Biden since election eve.

In an interview on Newsmax TV’s ”Stinchfield,” Nunes said voting machine security is ”the big concern …of all conservatives.”

”They went to bed [on election night]…with Wisconsin, with Michigan, with Pennsylvania and it looks like there’s no way Trump could possibly lose,” Nunes said. ”They wake up and he lost all of them and continues to lose them.

”The…concern is if the [voting] machines aren’t secured,” he said.

Don’t look now, Dev, but it seems that Trump just arranged to “secure” some of ’em but good.

Earlier today Rep. Louie Gohmert told Chris Salcedo on Newsmax that people on the ground in Germany report that Scytl, which hosted  elections data improperly through Spain, was raided by a large US ARMY force and their servers were seized in Frankfurt.

Andrea Widburg at American Thinker earlier reported that Scytl is a Barcelona-based company that provides electronic voting systems worldwide, many of which have proven vulnerable to electronic manipulation.  Scytl has (or had) Soros and Democrat party connections.  Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s Vulcan Capital has invested $40 million in Scytl.

Tonight we learned from our source that Bill Gates also owns stock in Scytl.

Tonight we heard more from our source on this raid in Germany.

The US government, once they determined that this Dominion server was involved in switching votes, then the intelligence community began a search for the server and discovered that the server was in Germany. In order to get access to that server and have it available for use in a legal manner they had to have the State Department work in tandem with the Department of Justice. They had to request that the government of Germany cooperate in allowing this seizure of this server.

The appropriate documents required to affect that kind of seizure were put in place, signed off on, and it appears there was also US military support in this operation. The US military was not in the lead. But this helps explain why Esper was fired and Miller and Kash Patel were put in place — so that the military would not interfere with the operation in any way.

By getting ahold of the server they now are going to have the direct evidence of when they were instructed to stop counting. They will also discover who gave the direction to stop counting and who initiated the algorithm that started switching votes. The CIA was completely excluded from this operation.

HM. Okay, then. My boldface above indicates that, at the very least, Trump is fully cognizant of just who he can and cannot trust, and is making his own moves in accord with that belated awareness. WASHINGTON — Dr. Anthony Fauci has some new coronavirus guidance: “Do what you’re told.”

In an interview Thursday, the coronavirus task force member and infectious disease expert pushed back on the notion that scientists were “authoritarian” for promoting strict lockdowns and social distancing measures.

But the 79-year-old suggested the American spirit of independence had gotten in the way and the nation needed to follow their orders, whether they liked it or not.

“I was talking with my UK colleagues who are saying the UK is similar to where we are now, because each of our countries have that independent spirit,” Fauci said during a panel with other experts in Washington, DC.

“I can understand that, but now is the time to do what you’re told,” he said, as first reported by CNBC.

Tell ya what, I got a better idea for ya. I continue doing exactly as I damned well please; go wherever I need or want to go, for whatever reason I conjure; ignore your precious lockdowns and defy your stupid face-diaper “mandates” completely. While YOU go piss up a fucking rope, you fucking pencil-neck geek.

“Do what you’re told,” proclaims the petty dimestore dictator, the “doctor” who never treated a patient in his life, the parasitic career bureaucrat who has never once been elected to anything. Dr. Michael Osterholm, a coronavirus advisor to President-elect Joe Biden, said that a 4-6 week lockdown that shut down businesses and compensated workers for lost wages may curb the spread of the virus and get the economy on track until a vaccine is approved and distributed.

The economy that grew 31% last quarter? The economy that is adding a million jobs per month as we come out of the lockdowns?

You’re going to get that economy on track with another month and a half of lockdowns?

When did any Democrat, bureau-rat, or other genus of shitlib ever have the vaguest clue about what might or might not be required to “get the economy on track”? Although since the fundamental premise shared by all such specimens—that the solution to every problem, including economic ones, can come only from government—is a total crock of shit, anything Osterwhoop believes might “get the economy on track” would be a miserable failure regardless. So really, you can’t blame him for his wet-brained stupidity. He is what he is; to expect better from him would be unreasonable and unfair.

Do what you’re told. It’s a sad testament to how far we’ve fallen that an American government employee would ever to dare to say such a thing out loud, in public, without having to immediately go into hiding in fear for his very life. Fauci & Friends’ obvious unfamiliarity with such fear is the reason why the whole country now finds itself completely upside-down, ass-backwards, and in an awful fix.

Throughout government, American “public servants” no longer consider themselves our employees, but our masters. Clearly, that attitude is in need of some serious adjustment.

“This Is a Time for Fighting, Not for ‘Healing'”

We all know that since the Sixties, and increasing every decade since then, the Democrats have moved farther left from the center and increasingly employed the scorched-earth tactics typical of the left. This development reached its peak during the Obama years, when the IRS was weaponized against Republican and conservative political organizations; and the White House began an illegal investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign and administration, in which high-ranking officials from the CIA, FBI, and DOJ participated, many moving on to the specious Mueller investigation that wasted $32 million and two years on a political ad for the Democrats. Meanwhile, progressive allies in government, media, sports, tech, and entertainment waged a relentless smear campaign against the President, egged on by Congressmen staging show-trial “hearings” for the news cameras.

So forgive us for turning a jaundiced eye on Biden’s clichés of “healing” and “unity.” More importantly, such talk bespeaks the guild mentality of like-minded and socio-economically similar technocrats, not the divided and balanced republic the Constitution created for we the people. Apart from times of war and natural disasters, unity should trouble us, for widespread agreement is usually the prelude to concentrations of power that facilitate tyranny.

The Founders distrusted excessive power, so they created a government of separate powers, each designed to check the encroachments of the other, and all checked and balanced by the sovereign states. This structure, along with elections every two years, has been the bulwark of our freedom. But for a century progressives have chipped away at that defense. The executive branch has expanded its size and scope by increasing the number of agencies and expanding their regulatory reach. The states were weakened when the power to select Senators was taken from state legislatures and given to the people. Given the Senate’s power to check the executive––confirming federal justices and cabinet members, declaring war, ratifying treaties––that change reduced the leverage state houses had over the executive. And don’t forget the federal money doled out to states for signing on to various redistributionist programs and illiberal federal regulations. As the British used to say about joining the army, “He who takes the king’s shilling is the king’s man.” State sovereignty has been weakened by this devil’s bargain.

As a result, over that time the scope of our freedom has been reduced, and the Bill of Rights hemmed in by restrictions and regulations. Matters of private conscience to be debated at the local or state level have been usurped by the feds and a hubristic Supreme Court. The very evils the Revolutionary generation fought against––overweening unaccountable power wielded by a distant sovereign––have been insidiously creeping back, and explicit threats have been made against our First and Second Amendment rights, as well as the Electoral College that protects minority rights from the majority.

That’s what “unity” portends–– the reduction of political diversity and freedom by the encroachments of an expanding government power. What we call “gridlock,” the stasis that follows factional disputes, is not a flaw in the system, it is its purpose, and the means for stopping power’s encroachments by setting ambition against ambition. It is how politically we obey the rule “first do no harm.”

If, as seems likely, Biden is certified as the winner of the election, and the Republicans keep the Senate, we will see in the next few years the genius of the Constitution at work. The tyrannical ambitions of the “woke” left will be checked by the Senate and a Trump-appointed judiciary. And in two years the people will have the chance to confirm or revise the status quo.

So pay no attention to the duplicitous rhetoric of “unity” and “healing.” The Dems have for decades proven they’re not interested in reconciliation, but in power. Conservatives are not the “loyal opposition,” they are the “racist, sexist, xenophobic” enemy to be defeated by any means necessary. That means it’s time to fight, not to “heal.”

Exactly, precisely, one hundred percent correct—apart from his breezy confidence that the Left will be “checked” by a Senate which has never shown the least penchant for any such thing before, a Pollyanna-ish optimism I do NOT share in the slightest. As for the rest of it, yeah, spot on.

When Democrat-Socialist creeps and connivers come around crooning words like “unity” and “healing” into the ears of their hated enemies, what the manipulative wretches really mean by them is “surrender” and “comply.” They’re not seeking real reconciliation with us; all they want from us is obedience. Be assured that we will receive nothing whatsoever from them in return.

Truth is, with their ilk it’s ALWAYS “time to fight, not to heal.” There can be no “healing” or “unity” with would-be Communist dictators, no rapprochement or compromise, nor SHOULD there be. As history has invariably shown, to naively yield to their unctuous, deceitful blandishments is a fatal blunder. The only viable options are A) crush them utterly, or B) die in the attempt.

Real Americans, now and for all time, must re-dedicate themselves to living up to some of the most stirring words in all history—an uncompromising rejection of a tyranny far less odious than the one that threatens us today—spoken by a common ancestor whose unblemished example is a legacy of which a lapsed and inattentive people can only pray to prove themselves worthy:

The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable–and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace– but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God!

I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

What true American, what honest lover of liberty, could ever disparage those beautiful words or revile the man who spoke them? Only a soulless dullard, a total cretin whose ahistorical ignorance is surpassed only by his unfounded arrogance, could even conceive of doing such a shameful thing. That our present-day enemy dares to do so, not just openly but boastfully, reveals everything we should ever need to know concerning his vileness, his abject lack of character, his witless stupidity, and the total necessity of defeating and destroying him.

A matter of trust

It is impossible to overstate how serious a stolen American presidential election is. It is literally the end of the Republic if that is what has happened. And it cannot be remedied, because there are 70 million people who will never trust or respect the federal elections process again without drastic reforms that would effectively constitute a new social contract.

America will become ungovernable. The cash economy will overtake the legitimate economy. Lawlessness will become rampant as once-lawful citizens give up and begin chiseling out whatever they can. Without a social contract, there is no peaceful transfer of power in any political office, and violence will reign.

We could be literally facing the end of America.

Actually, we’re facing the aftermath of the end of America, which occurred when we permitted the Left to get away consequence-free with the manifest criminality and corruption we’ve passively witnessed for so long.

This can’t be allowed. A stolen election in the United States of America is unthinkable. That one side would so blatantly violate the social contract is beyond the pale.

The president and his team will be making the case this week that the irregularities and defects in this failed election changed the outcome. They must be allowed to make that case, and to present evidence for it. If that evidence is indeed compelling and shows itself to be material to the outcome, then legislators in those states where the fraud has been decisive are obligated to invalidate the posted, fraudulent results and choose their own slates of electors as provided in the Constitution. Failing that, the House must vote on Jan. 3 to invalidate an Electoral College result decided by fraud.

The Constitution, the foundation of our Republic, demands no less. It provides remedies against a stolen election. If those remedies are not acted upon should the president win his case, the Constitution is dead and the Republic with it, and the abyss beckons.

Oh, the abyss isn’t beckoning. It now surrounds us, its darkness has engulfed us. Sad to say, the only possible path back into the light is as perilous as it is tortuous.

“Unite” this

It ought to happen, and it ought to be only the beginning of what happens. But it won’t.

With the media, establishment Republicans and Democrats calling for Americans to “unite” around the so-called “President-Elect,” Levin issued a scathing retort, “I’m part of the new resistance, God forbid if our president doesn’t win…I am not uniting around [Biden] any more than they united around our man.”

Levin is right on target. If Biden assumes the White House under these questionable circumstances, he should receive the same treatment from conservatives and Republicans that President Trump received from his multitude of political opponents. A political resistance should be launched against Biden and all the crooked forces that supported him.

Trump was not given a moment’s rest during his tenure. There was no honeymoon, no bipartisanship, and no acceptance of his presidency from his opposition. He endured coup attempts, a bogus impeachment, a Covid-19 hysteria designed to harm the economy and a fraudulent election process that resulted in millions of unsolicited ballots being mailed across the country.

Possibly, the enemies of the president have defeated him with this latest ruse, but his supporters must never forget what he had to undergo. It is only right and just that a President Biden be treated in precisely the same manner.    

I proposed more or less the same thing myself a while back, with one slight difference: not just Biden but any and every Demonrat “president” from here ’til Doomsday should know not a single moment’s peace, respite, or comfort ever again. He should be hounded brutally and without mercy by every Republican in government, until the accumulated stress causes the douchenozzle to fall over stone dead from a brain aneurysm. For Biden-Harris, for Harris-Biden, and all their successors, the harrassment campaign should officially kick off with an Inauguration Day announcement from House Republicans that impeachment proceedings will begin no later than, oh, say, thirty fucking seconds after the echo of the oath of office’s recitation has faded into the ether.

Henceforth, here should be entire teams of GOP officials beavering away at nothing other than finding all the ways in which a Demonrat (p)Resident might be hopelessly bedeviled. Should any member of said teams evince any sign of discomfort or pangs of conscience over the Demonrat’s hellish ordeal, he would be dismissed without prejudice, warming the pines at least until he gets his mind right again, to be replaced by a less squeamish Inquisitor who has his heart more fully in the game.

Then, after Team Torquemada finally drives “President” Fuzznuts to keel over in his cornflakes, the “State funeral” will include a procession of Repubs gathering ’round to poke the corpse with sharp sticks, piss over it, drag it around the White House grounds by the wrists, and such-like abuse, until the mouldering carcass finally crumbles into a gooey, revolting mess. The pile of offal can then be wheelbarrowed out to the verymost edge of the White House grounds and dumped there without further ceremony or regard. Hey, crows and buzzards gotta eat too, y’know.

But like I said, it won’t happen, and we all know it. Not because the GOPe lacks either guts or smarts, as so many like to complain about when Vichy Repubs “accidentally” screw the pooch yet again. Nor is it because of any lack of commitment on their part; they’re just committed as all get out, and have demonstrated so all too many times in their battles with Trump. No, it’s because their commitment is exclusively to something diametrically opposite to what they falsely claim it is, that’s all.

I’d dearly love to be proved wrong about this, just as I dearly wish I’d trip over a sack full of thousand dollar bills on the sidewalk tomorrow afternoon. With McConnell, Graham, and other Repugnican swine already expressing their eagerness to “work with” “President-elect Biden” after a “peaceful transition of power,” I’m way more confident about the odds on the latter coming to pass than the former, alas.

Update! The good Rabbi Fischer has your fucking “unity”—swinging.

It is the clarion call, the siren call, from the Democrat-Media-Left Alliance: “Think of the good of the country. Now is a time for healing. Stop investigating ballot fraud. What we need now is unity.”

You want unity? That’s fair. We will give you unity:

1. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and deny the legitimacy of the 2020 election for the next four years.

2. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and investigate the Biden family’s every business dealing at home and abroad.

3. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and question Biden’s mental fitness to hold office.

4. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and question Biden’s physical fitness to hold office.

5. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and blame Biden for every person who dies from the coronavirus.

6. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and blame Biden personally for every Black person who is shot anywhere in America.

7. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and never stop publicizing that Biden has been accused of grabbing a woman’s crotch against her will.

8. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and emphasize that, any time a woman makes a claim of sexual harassment against Biden, she must be believed.

9. In unity with you, we will follow your example of the past four years and continue publicizing that Kamala Harris, like Evita Perón, slept her way into public life…

…Al Gore fought and denied the 2000 results for more than a month and litigated all the way up to the United States Supreme Court. So in unity with you, we pledge to follow your example of litigating the results as far and as high as the courts permit. Unity is a good thing. It binds us as one American people, tied together in pursuit of a common cause, a shared purpose. We already are learning to think identically. We even have ordered our reams of paper to tear in halves at the next State of the Union address. The healing already has begun. We look forward to continuing this healing for the next four years — at least. How could we…Resist?

What to do, what to do

Steyn offers a course of action for Trump to consider.

If the lawsuits go nowhere, what should Trump do? He’s never been a “normal” president, and he wasn’t elected to be one. Does he really want to mope around in the Oval Office until January 20th for a “peaceful transition of power” that he himself was denied (by among others Joe Biden)? Even if they never succeed in gaoling him, they will surely use the “peaceful transition” to put in place a couple of decades’ worth of litigation-without-end. Come to that, can he even trust the Secret Service agents they’ll assign to him?

He will never be a “normal” former president – because they are determined to exclude him from those ranks. If I were Trump and the litigation goes south, I would pardon Michael Flynn, Roger Stone and others and then get on a plane to one of my overseas resorts to play a little golf. After forty-eight hours, I would resign the presidency, having first ensured that Mike Pence would issue any necessary pardon.

I think the American people would enjoy Pence as president for a couple of months, and Pence would do the tedious interregnum shtick better than a justifiably sour and embittered Trump. And, if nothing else, it would oblige the Dems to re-order all their T-shirts, because Joe would now be the “47th president”. The political “norms” of contemporary America are mostly garbage: No founding father would have contemplated for a moment a two-year presidential campaign, and, if you’d suggested it, they’d have cried in unison, “Come back, George III, all is forgiven.” It’s a total waste of time, energy and money, culminating in a three-month “transfer of power” that the Deep State uses very effectively to ensure that as little as possible actually gets transferred.

But it’s impossible to change unless a sorely traduced guy with nothing to lose goes and blows it up. That would be a grand public service.

Go for it, Mr President – and then run in 2024 as the 21st-century Grover Cleveland.

I like it, but have a few more suggestions to tack on. In addition to pardons for one and all who were persecuted, hounded, and had their lives and livelihoods destroyed by petty, spiteful Democrat-Socialist pond scum, before he heads on off to some Bahamas isle for some well-earned R&R, Trump should:

  • Thoroughly and ruthlessly clean Deep State house via mass firings in every Federal bureaucracy—ZERO exceptions, from department heads on down to the lowliest janitor; not a single Swamp remora or Obama stay-behind should be spared
  • Declassify every last document even tangentially related to the Russia and Ukraine hoaxes; Operation Fast and Furious; Operation Crossfire Hurricane/Spygate; the Benghazi blunder; the Iran pallets o’ cash scam; HILLARY!!™‘s illegal shithouse server; Uranium One, etc, then execute a massive document dump to every media outlet in the world
  • Disband the FBI and CIA specifically, direct the US Marshall Service to forcible eject every employee and contractor without delay, then reduce the buildings they currently occupy to rubble
  • Sell off all office equipment, supplies, and furnishings left behind by terminated bureau-rats at fire-sale prices, then immediately raze the now-vacant office buildings they previously infested

After all that, Mr Preznit sir, declare it a job well done, accept the thanks of a grateful half-of-a-nation for your efforts, then head to the beach for plenty of sun, surf, and suds far removed from the soul-sucking toils of Mordor On The Potomac and its loathsome Orcs.

Treachery never sleeps—or not for long, anyway

The vultures, sensing a freshly-deceased meal, descend.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell anticipates there will be a peaceful transition of power if former Vice President Joe Biden beats President Donald Trump, The Hill reports.

We’ll just see about that, now won’t we?

“Of course,” McConnell told reporters in Kentucky when asked about the possible scenario. “We’ve had a peaceful transfer of power going back to 1792, every four years, we’ve moved on to a new administration.”

We have. What we HAVEN’T had before is a Democrat-Socialist attempt to steal an election that was as blatant and audacious as this one.

On Friday, McConnell tweeted that “every legal vote” should be counted and that “all sides must get to observe the process.”

Which they most certainly have not. Got anything to say about that, Yertle? Anything at all?

The Power assumes that everything will now just go straight back to Mordor on the Potomac business as usual, ante Trump. Will Real Americans disabuse them of that arrogant presumption? Only time will tell.

Reaping a most bitter harvest

The consequences of no consequences.

The matrix of interests, parties, and people styling themselves as The Resistance, who tried unsuccessfully to cough up Donald Trump like a hairball for four years, may finally succeed by harvesting the magical crop of mail-in ballots delivered by unicorns in the gathering darkness this post-election week of mathematical wonders.

America walked wide-eyed into this signal institutional failure, the one that lowers us to the level of places in the world where the loincloth is a business suit and the only instrument of persuasion is a machete. The Attorney General, Mr. Barr, warned the country months ago in so many words that mail-in voting would invite massive fraud, and so it has gone, but exactly as predicted, in plain sight, shamelessly.

The Resistance dared to work this operation because there were no consequences to their previous seditions and felonies. Nobody ever answered for the many crimes of RussiaGate (and possibly never will). The lying slattern Christine Blasey Ford slunk back to her cushy life in California with a big GoFundMe bundle after defaming Judge Kavanaugh. Eric Ciaramella and his UkraineGate accomplices, IC Inspector General Michael Atkinson and Col. Alexander Vindman, never even faced an inquiry over their janky scheme. Judge Emmet Sullivan still refuses to follow the DC Circuit order to close the General Flynn case. Rep. Adam Schiff never paid any price for knowingly lying his ass off, nor did The Washington PostThe New York Times, CNN, and MSNBC. Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg are allowed to suppress the news and deform the public conversation because they’re more important than the rest of us, and they know better, too.

No consequences for these actors in a rough and dirty game, but great consequences for the USA — a now lethal loss of faith in the essential fairness of American life and the institutions that were created to insure it. Shame on us for letting it get this far.

Indeed. And there’s no arguing that it is truly on us.

Really, the roots of our current fix can be traced to the 1960s. When normal Americans decided to sit passively back and allow the anti-American Left to use the First Amendment as a tool to destroy them—the self-same Commies, mind, whose seething hatred towards not only the 1A but the Constitution entire was openly and constantly declared—our war was already lost, our fate sealed. The filthy Reds demanded that their Constitutional right to free speech, protest, and dissent be respected even as they schemed to first weaken, then rend, then remove the Constitution entirely.

Everything else, all the dysfunction, depravity, and decay that besets us today, flows from that initial passivity, that collective shrugging of the shoulders. We denied the nature, the very existence, of a self-professed Enemy, Domestic, allowing him to flourish. As a result, he has overwhelmed us.

We overlooked Rule One for dealing with Communists: Thou shalt not suffer a Commie to live. Instead of letting our own principles be weaponized and then turned on us, we should have just been gunning the bastards down in job lots. We made a mistake, a huge and terrible one, when we so completely misread our Founding ideals as to become convinced that honoring them required us to tolerate the vipers breeding in our very midst—deadly, determined, coiling to strike—rather than obliterating them as we should have.

Now we get to pay for that mistake. The loss of our country is only the first installment.
