From a simmer to a boil

The frustration I heard in the voice of a four-tour force recon vet discharged after a mortar ended his service was undeniable. It was also evident that the insults hurled from a woke mayor in a Texas city had him in a state of calm, but determined resistance. He spoke of the BLM march through the city given a route that went past the “biker bar” section of town as evidence of the taunting taking place across the country by mayors and governors who are determined to get a violent reaction. “We’re not that stupid,” he said.

From someone who has seen his share of death and destruction in the chaotic villages of a war-torn nation, he knows what is being fomented against him and those like him. They want the conflict, just like they wanted to hang the “insurrection” tag on a peaceful protest in Washington D.C. on January 6th. Unlike the woke peaceful protests all summer that were embellished with flame, wrecked buildings and murder, the January 6th peaceful protest saw only instigators (probably infiltrators) breaking a window or two. There is no comparison between the occupation of federal court buildings, looting and burning by those released from jail the day before for the same mischief and a crowd being let into the capitol on the sixth only to further the insurrection narrative.

I asked how we could fix a political system intent on inciting violence against one set of people by another. It isn’t just BLM against bikers, or school systems against parents, or black against white, or Hispanic against Asian, or young against old, or left against right, or gay against straight, or vaxers against anti-vaxers, or mask wearers against mask refusers; it is the intent of government officials to inflame these conflicts to the point of violence that is the concern. His response was a slow shake of the head, a shrug of the shoulders saying what he preferred not to say.

The fact is, there is no D-Day, but rather the slow accumulation of grievances until the load can no longer be carried. His words came back to me over the whole conversation. “We’re not that stupid.” The trouble with combat veterans, like my father (Korea), is they tend to be non-confrontational in such situations, because they can smell an ambush, not because they fear engagement, but half measures won’t suffice and until they are ready to go full-on, all other responses seem tepid, but the rage builds.

This climate is being manufactured. Those who are sure they will win are goading on the conflict. Those who are not sure they will win, refuse to fight at half measure, harming only their families and friends, enraging a brutal enemy without the resolve to complete the mission. What the enemies of the people should be afraid of, if they had any sense, is a fighting force having put it off until there was nothing left to lose, but coming out dedicated to the eradication of their enemies as the only possible solution.

For whatever it might be worth—almost certain to be little or nothing—my own view is that a general, widespread military-style conflict as most people conceive of it is unlikely in the extreme, regardless of how severely the Country Class is provoked. Geo- and demographic realities militate against it, for one thing. Unlike in 1860, the two sides are NOT divided neatly into North and South; for the most part, Team Liberty and Team Tryanny live cheek-by-jowl. In CW v1.0, Johnny Reb in Charleston probably never met a Boston Bluebelly in his entire life personally, and didn’t know a single living soul who had. But today, your average Real American probably has a Kommie Karen or Ken for a next-door neighbor, with plenty more scattered around the neighborhood.

This situation tends to complicate things, as does the simple fact that, unlike in Olden Thymes, the average American middle-class schlub has precisely no (zip, zero, nada) military training or knowledge at all. Hell, most of ’em wouldn’t know the procedure for inserting a loaded mag and putting a semi-auto rifle into battery, much less be able to hit the broad side of a bull’s ass at 20 yards with it. And that’s under quiet, peaceable conditions with nobody shooting back at him. Under fire, his personal prospects would suddenly nosedive from “not too good” level down to “deader” immediately.

Admittedly, Karen and/or Ken next door viscerally LOATHE weaponry and all the other white-supremacist, misogynist, homophobic military-type trimmings that go along with revolution and war, making their odds of survival against even an all-thumbs suburban klutz even longer. So there’s that.

My own view, which shifts on the regular these days, is that if the current middling-temperature conflict ever DOES go full-on hot, the form it will most likely take will be sabotage, monkey-wrenchery, and shoot-and-scoot sniper activity, perhaps even scattered small-unit raids undertaken by people with the training and experience to pull it off. Don’t expect to see any mass-media reportage of any such things either, at least not in the beginning. Possibly not at all, unless the sabotaging and raiding become widespread and successful enough that even a press as heavily invested in the Deep State status quo as ours can no longer keep things swept neatly under the rug.

And once that line is crossed all hell breaks loose. Because the moment the idea sets in with Big Papa Gov’t that they might actually not be winning this thing after all, and their iron-fisted grip on an increasingly broad swathe of the subject-population might be loosening, the US military will be formally called to come out and play. Which also happens to be the moment when all bets are fully OFF—and, as Aesop has said, life as we’ve all known it is over for good, regardless of how things shake out in the end.

Which, of course, is not to say that Real Americans shouldn’t bother trying to regain their rightful liberty, nor to blanch at any and all means of securing it—should instead just swallow their pride, surrender their natural rights, and accept the ignominious destiny of oppression, dependency, and voiceless servitude intended for them. But it DOES help to explain the seeming reluctance of most Normals to take that last irreversible step into the unknown, don’t it? Hamlet wasn’t just whistling Dixie when he wondered:

To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?

Ahh, the eternal question. Even the Founders cautioned against intemperance and recklessness:

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

Every patriot must decide for himself—and soon—where he stands, what he believes. Do the Founders’ words of patience and restraint still apply? Or is the time now upon us when the words that follow them must be our guide?

Question everything

The imperative of our era.

There is no problem in the United States that could not be solved if we were still a nation of critical thinkers.  But critical thinking has been intentionally replaced by dogma.  Having a degree is not equivalent to having an education.  Knowing something is not the same as understanding it.  In a world saturated with information, the “key” to distinguishing between truth and falsehood is one question, one word: “why?”

Why should schools and companies discriminate based on skin color? Why should my race say more about me than my brain? Why is it okay for federal immigration law to be ignored while federal tax laws must be obeyed? Why are Americans who defend the Constitution treated as domestic terrorists? Why are Americans who burn down cities treated as heroes? Why does every “solution” to climate change involve the expansion of government powers and the contraction of personal liberties? Why must the government police speech in order to keep it free? Why must government disarm citizens in order to keep them safe? Why is the government so afraid of the people that it must spy on them at all times? Why is it no longer “our government,” but rather the government?

Are those questions dangerous in a “free” society? Of course not. They lead to discussion, which leads to debate, which leads to contemplation, which leads to greater understanding, which creates a more perceptive mind, a more capable American, and a more complete human being. When government deems some questions subversive, it is admitting that it no longer represents the people, but rather rules over them. And any public school system that replaces the tools necessary for developing critical thinking skills with rigid indoctrination countenancing no dissent is producing not healthy citizens, but useful slaves.

The great philosopher George Carlin used to say, “Don’t just teach your children to read[.]…Teach them to question what they read. Teach them to question everything.” That’s how real learning is done — in the trenches with one hand on a flashlight searching for knowledge and the other gripping a shovel, digging up the oft-buried truth. Carlin also knew that when it comes to truth, governments cannot be trusted: “I have certain rules I live by. My first rule: I don’t believe anything the government tells me.” If more Americans could learn this simple principle, our society would be in a much better place. Free people with free minds do not need politicians to do their thinking for them.

The science is settled? The time for debate is over? Never. Only people interested in stealing your agency and capturing your soul say such things. It is our capacity for reason that makes each of us distinct and our distinctive qualities that make each human life individually valuable. When government deems individual minds unnecessary, then individual lives become disposable. That’s when governments do great evil.

Ahh, but what about when government deems individual minds not just unnecessary, but an active, credible threat to their own designs? What’s to be done about government then?

“It’s a race to the bottom when brutality reigns”

Civilization vs savagery.

A morality that confers “rights” on mobs and strips those of an individual is the morality of savages. Maxine Waters is a savage, but so too are the members of the Minneapolis City Council who agreed to pay George Floyd’s estate $27 million before Chauvin’s trial had begun, the judge who recognized the prejudicial unfairness of Waters’ inflammatory statements but passed the buck for doing anything about it to the appellate courts, and the political, media, and celebrity jackals from Joe Biden on down who’ve been howling for Chauvin’s conviction since Floyd’s death.

The trial for Derek Chauvin and the lack of one for the Capitol Hill policeman (name still unknown) are another reminder—not that any are needed—that savages aren’t fair. It’s pathetic and ludicrous to expect an appellate court to grant Chauvin a new trial, although it would have ample grounds to do so in anything resembling a fair judicial system.

It’s like saying, “Wait until 22 and 24!” or, “Wait until the Arizona vote audit!” after last year’s blatant election theft. The savages have instituted corrupt arrangements that will enshrine their power in perpetuity. Expecting them to tolerate anything that would jeopardize those arrangements is like expecting water to run uphill. Fair or even quasi-fair elections would threaten their power. They are, like fair trials, but a memory.

Savages beget savagery and nothing else, until they are stopped or they stop themselves. Don’t count on them recognizing the production—a civilized and thereby forbidden act—and the producers—civilized and thereby forbidden people—that keep them fed and alive. And don’t count on them not making your weaponry, your last line of defense, a use it or lose it proposition.

They recognize no limits, certainly not the constraints imposed by reality. They may have to lay waste to the world before whomever remains of the honest and productive realize that their lives are a defend them or die proposition. For decades, America’s rulers and their accomplices have said about the enemies of the day: they only understand force. It’s projection, ascribing to others one’s own motivations. They’ve dressed it up in all sorts of verbiage, from Make the World Safe for Democracy to We’re All In This Together, but force is what they understand and to which they’ll always resort. The only thing that will stop them is superior force more competently wielded.

Abandon your mind and life is one big scary mystery. In their perpetual, pervasive fear of everything, savages will always respond to superior force. The civilized are abandoning savage strongholds, seeking refuge in states that still demonstrate a vestigial respect for individual rights, the font of civilization. These aren’t nirvanas of freedom, but they’re better than what’s left behind.

Live and let live are not options for savages; they have to prey on someone. The migrants may find relief in their new locales, but unless they’re prepared to defend them that relief will prove temporary. Having run out of victims at home, the savages will invade, plunder, and destroy any place that maintains a modicum of freedom, production, prosperity, and civilization.

Unless their would-be victims repel them.

Which demands full and frank acknowledgment of one inescapable fact, however unpleasant: the only effective way the savages among us can be repelled is by means of force and violence. Anything else is no more than a float down the river of Denial, idle thumbsuckery and self-deception. No, it ain’t pleasant. But that doesn’t make it any less true.

Your feel-good story of the day

“Hot Topic anarchists.” Gotta love that one.

After being outnumbered, Antifa failed to shut down the weekly right-wing flag event in Oregon City, which neighbors Portland except here law enforcement and the district attorney don’t tolerate rioting.

Antifa groups circulated a flyer online last week calling for comrades to counter protest the weekly flag waving event near Clackamas Community College. “Oregon City is allowing fascists to continue and grow their weekly flag wave, if we don’t put a stop to it, they will command more control!” the flyer urged. Clackamas Community College canceled classes in light of Antifa’s anticipated presence.

Friday, the day of the dueling protest, things seemed anti-climatic as Antifa only managed small numbers and gathered at a shopping center near the college campus then quickly left. Portland-based Antifa accounts on Twitter expressed outrage that not enough appeared to shut down the conservative rally.

Police were on scene Friday to keep the opposing groups separate, but there were no reports of any violence breaking out. “The people you call Antifa,” one of the right-wing protesters told KOIN 6 News, “they have no idea what Portland is. They watched Portlandia and came here. They’re hipsters wearing all black. Hot Topic anarchists,” the 42-year-old said to the local news outlet.

In all, at least 250 conservative demonstrators, some armed, protested at the planned event that seemed to occur without incident despite the hype.

That’s because some were armed, and as Heinlein knew, an armed society is a polite society.

No place to run, no place to hide

They are coming. Yes, for you too.

The attempt of America’s ruling class to convict 455 persons of “armed insurrection”—i.e. of waging war against the United States, a species of treason—for protesting insufficient scrutiny of the 2020 election on January 6 in the Capitol, while at the same time it excuses and even cheers the burning and looting of courthouses, police stations, and downtowns all over America, is not the exercise of a “double standard.”

The people in and out of government who do this are not corrupt. Instead, acting as part of the regime—the oligarchy—they are replacing the American republic and waging war to crush its remains.

The sooner Americans realize that we are being governed by people at war with our Constitution and contemptuous of ourselves, the sooner those people may be treated as the enemies they are.

Today’s Justice Department, acting as part and parcel of the oligarchy that calls itself “our democracy” has pushed partisanship to the point of war by one regime in favor of another. Inevitably, this has created the horrid reality of political prisoners among us—people who are being punished for supporting the republic against the oligarchy. When regimes war on each other, whose side you are on becomes the practical definition of justice.

The Bill of Rights has long since applied to the states. Erasing the distinction between what had been public and private, between the powers of those in political office and those of corporations, institutions, etc., is oligarchy’s essence.

Arguably, the imposition of very cruel penalties on persons out of step with people and institutions that are part of the ruling oligarchy is contemporary America’s most prominent feature. These include deletion of careers and livelihoods, public imputations of racism, etc. They amount to something like outlawry.

And for what, specifically? Loud and clear is the ruling narrative: “our democracy” is under armed assault by hordes of white supremacists who lurk throughout society, ready to unleash another, deadlier version of January 6. But the reality is that “trespassing is still only trespassing.”

To keep this reality in context, one might recall Arlo Guthrie’s hilarious 1967 song “Alice’s Restaurant,” the saga of a hippie arrested for dumping trash, whom the legal system throws in with “all kinds of mean nasty ugly looking people…Mother rapers. Father stabbers. Father rapers!…nasty and ugly and horrible crime-type guys sitting on the bench next to me!…And the meanest, ugliest, nastiest Father raper of them all…he said, ‘What were you arrested for, kid?’ And I said, ‘Littering.’ And they all moved away from me.”

Humor and irony, however, are powerless against the logic of warring regimes. The oligarchs are not fooling around. Appealing to the Constitution can only increase their determination to bury its remnants under the administrative powers it creates or enhances. This is a regime alien and inimical to ours.

That is good as well as bad news. The good aspect of it is that we who swear to uphold the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic owe no allegiance whatever to the oligarchy that now runs this country. Nor can we persuade them about right and wrong. If we are to avoid becoming the oligarchy’s mere subjects we can and must treat them as the enemies they are: deny their legitimacy, and rebuild the republic amongst those of us who love it.

All fine and well, I suppose. On the other hand: when The Power marches forth its men at arms, as it most assuredly will, under orders to deny us our God-given right to “depart from (them) in peace,” wishing upon our antagonists no farewell more onerous or threatening than that “posterity (may) forget that you were our countrymen”…well, what then? Can there possibly be a man among us so dewey-eyed and hopeful that he still cherishes the delusion that we will be permitted to “rebuild the republic amongst those of us who love it” by people who have so doggedly worked to destroy it utterly, and erase all trace of its existence?

“Rebuild the republic”? How? Where? Most importantly, to what end? Our forefathers built the original version fully alive to the sacrifice the project would require of them. They expected the cost of the former Republic’s construction to be quite dear—a cost tallied in blood, personal ruin, and death—and paid that bill without flinching nonetheless. Are we, their inheritors, really so foolish as to hope that we might somehow be spared the exaction of a similar price? Is there any reason to think that construction costs have dropped over the long years, rather than rising steeply as time passed?

The maintenance and upkeep which was our sacred duty was neglected, gradually causing the House of Liberty to fall into a state of near-ruin. The inevitable process of disintegration, however, was not entirely a natural one. It was endlessly helped along by the very ones from whom some of us now seem to expect bland forebearance as we go about the business of undoing the damage they intentionally wrought. Sorry, not bloody likely. Nations, most of them anyway, are brought forth not in peace, good will, and charity, but in violence and bloodshed.

Codevilla’s perception is as crystal clear as ever, and his closing prescription isn’t necessarily invalidated by the last-lap failure to look the problem squarely in the face. But still. The question for which the world awaits an answer, at this point, isn’t really about the advisability or practicality of this or that specific course of action. No, the question that truly matters today is the eternal one confronted by our most honorable Founders: whether or not their rightful heirs will flinch.

MOAR IDAHO, STAT!!!

A good start? Or much ado about nothing?

Five Oregon counties voted on Tuesday to instruct their county commissioners to promote moving the Oregon border so they can join the state of Idaho. Voters in Malheur, Sherman, Grant, Baker, and Lake counties all approved referendums that would grow the state of Idaho to encompass the 5 rural counties that voted in favor of the referendum along with two others — Jefferson and Union counties — who approved measures last year.

“This election proves that rural Oregon wants out of Oregon. If Oregon really believes in liberal values such as self-determination, the Legislature won’t hold our counties captive against our will,” said Mike McCarter, a conservative activist who heads the Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho group. “If we’re allowed to vote for which government officials we want, we should be allowed to vote for which government we want as well.”

Ace quips:

The left is excited, because they think “this opens the door to URBAN SOVEREIGNTY!!!” — cities detaching themselves from those useless rural areas that produce nothing but food, healthy families, and no crime.

As I always say, t’is a consummation devoutly to be wished. But it ain’t gonna happen, of course.

Actually moving the lines would require a vote from the Oregon legislature, which is firmly controlled by Democrats. Oregon and Idaho would have to strike a formal deal, which would then need to be ratified by the U.S. Congress.

It’d be nice if Real Americans could rid themselves of their urban Leftist antagonists in a peaceable fashion, but it’s increasingly obvious that said parasites will never allow it, leaving just the one option open.

SO—the hard way it is, then.

Mistakes were made

Vox runs down a few of the most costly ones.

I don’t know why President Trump failed to publicly uphold the law and the Constitution when he was confronted with massive election fraud. Given all of the various anomalies we’ve witnessed since January, I don’t even know who is actually calling the shots in the United States. But while I still assert that Donald Trump was the greatest US president since Andrew Jackson, what I do know is that he also doesn’t merit any sympathy whatsoever from his supporters for his current post-presidential persecutions.

First, Trump betrayed – yes, betrayed – his supporters when he completely failed to address, much less crack down upon, the social media companies who were systematically attacking them. As someone who was “suspended” from Twitter six years ago, I’m completely unmoved by conservatives belatedly crying about their own recent suspensions and deplatformings. This could have, and should have, been dealt with by President Trump back in 2016, and his failure to do so was a massive strategic mistake that was obvious at the time.

If you won’t fight for your followers, don’t expect them to fight for you.

Second, it was always obvious to everyone that the witch-hunting that started before President Trump even took office was going to continue the moment that he left office. And no matter what agreements were agreed, only a complete idiot would have placed any confidence in the various parties that make up the Deep State all keeping them.

As I repeatedly pointed out during his presidency, President Trump’s fundamental weakness is that he is a negotiator, not a fighter. Which means, at the end of the day, he’s always going to cave and take the best deal that he thinks he can get. While we don’t know that’s what happened after the events of November 3, 2020, it wouldn’t be even remotely surprising to eventually learn that Trump took the best deal he thought he could get at the time in lieu of crossing the Rubicon.

I still maintain that among the most damaging and confounding of Trump’s mistakes—or failures, even betrayals, depending on one’s point of view—was his choice to not only retain so many Ogabe stay-behinds, but to appoint and/or hire Swamp creatures for posts from whence they could wage all-out bureaucratic war against him and the MAGA agenda. Just leaving Chris Wray in place as head of a transparently hostile FBI—another disastrous Trump hire, mind—to wreak havoc with total impunity was probably enough all by itself to guarantee Trump’s undoing.

Considered all together, Trump’s piss-poor showing in some of the self-same aspects of the job he should’ve been best at, given his past competence and success in those departments, is beyond baffling, almost bizarre. Enough so, in fact, that I’m beginning to wonder whether the Left’s scornful assessment of the man’s intelligence might not have been nearer the mark than my own.

Trump as a trusting naif who quickly found himself in way over his head when he rolled up his sleeves and tried to make good on his promise to drain the Swamp just doesn’t quite compute for me. His whole life had been spent bare-knuckle brawling in the cutthroat NYC real-estate market, coping with ruthless competitors and sleazy local and state ProPols who, if their power was somewhat less broad and encompassing as their bigger DC brothers, was still far from negligible. Is it really plausible that Trump, with his vast experience rasslin’ ‘gators in NYC, would suddenly forget everything he’d learned when he came up against somewhat-larger ones after making the move to Mordor On The Potomac?

It’s not easy for me to think so, I must say. Whatever the case may be, if Trump doesn’t get a clue on the PDQ and wake the fuck up to certain ugly realities, OrangeManBad is gonna find himself rockin’ orange before long. The writing, as in so many other contexts, is on the wall.

New York AG’s Office says its probe of the Trump Organization is now ‘criminal’ and will work with Manhattan DA Cy Vance in his ongoing fraud investigation
New York’s attorney general is now investigating the Trump Organization for criminal offenses, it emerged on Tuesday night.

The office, led by Letitia James, had been investigating the company for civil tax offenses since early 2019. but the investigation has now escalated.

‘We have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the Organization is no longer purely civil in nature,’ said Fabien Levy, a spokesman for the office.

‘We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA.’

The district attorney’s office, led by Cyrus Vance, has been investigating possible criminal tax fraud since 2018.

A person familiar with the investigation told CNN that several investigators with the James’s office, who are considered experts on the Trump Organization, have joined Vance’s team.

The notice from James’s office was sent in late April to attorneys for the Trump Organization, The Washington Post said.

If Trump thinks himself untouchable or impervious, that they “can’t” do this or they “wouldn’t” do that, he’s a damned fool. The Enemy has a larger point to make here, about what will surely happen to any and every other pugnacious outsider who would dare to invade their turf seeking to bring down the Barad-Dur. Whether he knows it or not, they will NOT be content with merely removing him. They mean to destroy him utterly, to make an example of him that won’t soon be forgotten—a direct warning that will endure for every bit as long as their illegitimate kleptocracy itself does.

At this point, the best thing Donald Trump could do for himself and his family is to wake up to current reality; recognize that America That Was is lost forever, and was years ago; abandon his honest patriotism and love of country; and flee to the extradition-proof Caribbean island you just know he already owns to sit back on a sandy beach to enjoy a frosty-cool margarita and cock his snook at his tormentors back in Amerika v2.0 for the rest of his days.

Living with lunatics

It can’t be done without upheaval, strife, and misery, and sane people shouldn’t even try lest insanity turn out to be infectious.

The Progressive Left has gone stark raving batshit fucking insane. It wouldn’t be so frightening if they didn’t have control of the news, the schools, the entertainment media, and now the government:

The 2016 election was stolen by Trump with the aid of Putin, but the 2020 election was unquestionably fair and even-handed, and there’s something wrong with you if you do not accept that.

Violence is speech, but silence is violence, but free speech is violence. Rioting is “mostly peaceful.” Two plus two equals racism and racism is bad, and all white people are racists, so President* Biden believes that minorities somehow can’t figure out how to use the Internet. Segregation is cool again as is discrimination in hiring. Defunding police departments is anti-racism. People who were never slaves should get reparations from people who never owned a slave, but the children brought illegally in to the country should not suffer for their parent’s crime. Genocide is bad, except in China where it’s just a different cultural norm.

Someone who was biologically male for most of his life can “identify as female” and defeat biologically female women in sex-segregated sports, and they’re brave for doing so. Dr. Rachel Levin, Biden’s transgender nominee for assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services refuses to answer questions regarding gender reassignment performed on minor children during approval hearings. (There are, at present, apparently 112 genders.) If you’re heterosexual and don’t date trans you’re a transphobe, but if you’re homosexual and won’t date outside your gender (whichever of the 112 you are) you’re OK.

“Equity” now means “Equality.” All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. Cows, pigs and sheep are among the greatest threats to the environment. We need to go to all electric cars, but we’re going to charge them using wind power on distribution systems that can’t support the load. Those clean electric vehicles run on batteries, but the Left seems to have no concern of where the materials for those come from. Mining is bad, but electric vehicles will require a massive increase in mining, not to mention the expansion of the power distribution infrastructure necessary to charge them. But math is racist, and I’m sure everything will work out fine.

And people who own guns are murderers just waiting for the opportunity, but insulting them in public is perfectly safe.

If you dare to point out the insanity, you’re a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic deplorable who must be CANCELLED. You’re a heretic, or worse, apostate. Oh, and Ben Shapiro is a Nazi.

I wrote many years ago that both liberals and conservatives were necessary for a healthy society, but the Left is no longer interested in debate and compromise. 

As we’re finding out, liberals aren’t at all necessary for a healthy society. Actually, they’re inimical to it; anathema to it; and, in the end, fatal to it.

We get bits and pieces of this every day, but to see it all gathered together in one place is to bring home in an inescapable way just how dangerous are the times into which we must move forward, whether we want to or not. And the sort of decisions we must make now to determine how we will face them.

Look, I’m sorry. Maybe you’ve been asleep for 100 years or something. Maybe you fell in a cave, and hit your head, and just got out after a year lost in the labyrinth. Maybe you’ve been in a medical coma for a decade. I don’t know.

But just to catch you up on current events: The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor last November.

An entire presidential election was stolen in plain sight, with everyone watching, and it’s so obvious even Stevie Wonder could see it from orbit in space. And then they doubled down, and tried to turn a panty raid into a revolution. And then doubled down again.

The Fourth Amendment’s been in tatters for all of this century, and before. They’ve set the First Amendment on fire for the last six months and counting. Now they’re coming after the Second Amendment, and the Third Amendment is the step after that. Let me know when the penny drops for you.

Oh, it’s quite a bit worse than even that, actually. By the numbers:

Is there any real need to discuss the First? Ask anybody who has lost their livelihood, their home, their friends, and their fortune after voicing a conservative opinion, support for Trump, or dissent from Progressivist dogma just how well it performed at safeguarding the right to freedom of speech it once guaranteed.

The 2nd is all but dead, strangled by the incremental creep of registration; restrictions on what kind, how many, and how often one is allowed to buy Constitutionally-“protected” firearms; increasingly onerous requirements and/or other qualifications for buying or selling legal weaponry, along with the burdensome blizzard of paperwork those regulations generate. As I’ve said before: if one must beg the government’s permission to exercise it, then it isn’t a “right,” it’s a privilege.

What with ubiquitous cameras, satellites, drones, license plate readers, Sting Rays, and listening devices clandestinely spying on us and recording our every move, every minute of every day, any notion that the Fourth remains in meaningful effect is definitionally ludicrous.

The Fifth? Pull the other one, it has a bell on it.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury,

Which the DA will happily provide with a surfeit of spurious charges, just to help them along.

except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb;

Unless you’re Darren Chauvin, or any other of the numerous Americans who have faced prosecution for “civil offenses” after the prosecution failed to get them convicted and Bastilled on the original criminal charges.

Except if you own a home or property the authorities wish to sell to crony developers, in which case they’ll Eminent Domain your ass and you’ll be lucky to receive pennies on the dollar in “compensation.” Or if you’re unfortunate enough to have a lake, pond, or small creek on your property—or a mud puddle, all of which the government has decreed “protected wetlands”—in which case the EPA will perceive an opportunity to jump on your neck with both jackbooted feet, and will assuredly seize it.

The Sixth? Don’t make me laugh.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial

A trial so “speedy” that it will drag on for decades, if not the rest of the defendant’s natural life, bankrupting him regardless of outcome. In post-Constitutional “America,” the process IS the punishment.

The Seventh and Eight, which concern more or less nuts-and-bolts specifics of certain courtroom proceedings, we’ll leave alone for now. The Ninth?

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

None of which are now regarded as valid by The Power, all of which have been gleefully flung down and stomped upon.

The Tenth (poor, dear little thing)—the conceptual framework for the structure of the Founders’ government—has had a whole blown through it wide enough to drive the pathetically dysfunctional USS Ford through with room to spare, damaged by a slow-mo explosion originally set off by FDR’s New Deal commiebomb. After decades of abuse, encroachment, and neglect, the long-before-neutered Tenth was finally euthanized once and for all by the abominable Seventeeth, in accordance with the Progressivist plan.

After all that, if the penny ain’t dropped for you yet, as Aesop puts it, it’s almost certainly never going to.

That’s besides generational enemies worldwide sharpening their carving knives looking at the carcass of a once-great nation, the wholesale deliberate hamstringing and then gutting of the greatest military on the planet, and the imminent collapse of the entire world economy, starting, Gentle Reader, with your own little ricebowl, and your little patch of paradise on earth.

People have been yakking lately about the totally symbolic fart-in-a-hurricane letter from a bunch of impotent pensioned-off old-fart petty generals and admirals. You might have heard something.

It’s all nothing but ass gas from people eating soft food and wearing Depends.

The letter they should have read was from Zombie Admiral Stark, piped in from 1941 via the Twilight Zone:

Really, there never IS a time for pusillanimous appeasement, which is always a must-to-avoid among men who would live free. That, in combination with complacency and lotus-eating decadence, was a major factor in bringing us to the current sorry pass. Compromise with honest, fair-minded opponents is one thing; appeasement is quite another. It is always a costly mistake, sometimes a fatal one, quite literally. Appeasement never bought anybody anything except heartache and regret.

And yet appeasement is exactly what the GOPe has been doing anyway, for years and years. Naifs that we be, we let them do it.

Our Constitutional rights weren’t so much stolen from us. We threw them away. Which brings us right ’round to…well, to where we all are. Aesop, unfortunately, is perfectly correct: like it or not, do-or-die time is nigh upon us.

This flag is your flag, this flag is MY flag

Sooner or later, you can be sure they’ll get around to something you DO care about.

Outside Christie’s home in upstate New York, nestled beneath a tree near her driveway, sits a small rock painted with a Confederate flag that could cost her the custody of her little girl.

In a row between parents identified only as Christie and Isaiah, the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court’s Third Department unanimously allowed the pair to retain joint custody of their biracial child but ordered the mother to remove the rebel rock by June 1. Failing that, the court ruled the rock’s “continued presence shall constitute a change in circumstances.”

Put plainly, the bench threatened to revisit parents’ custody agreement and warned: “Family Court shall factor this into any future best interests analysis.”

It seems the parents have been locked in a protracted custody battle for some time. The New York Post reports that “the mother wants the dad to only see his daughter every other weekend, and the father wants sole custody.” In the course of the dispute, Isaiah has mentioned the rock only in passing while making a broader argument for custody of the girl. It was only when the case ended up in the lap of the appellate court that judges honed in on Christie’s taste in decor.

“Although not addressed by Family Court or the attorney for the child, the mother’s testimony at the hearing, as well as an exhibit admitted into evidence, reveal that she has a small confederate flag painted on a rock near her driveway,” Justice Stanley Pritzker wrote in the ruling. Pritzker then set his sights on the child’s racial background.

“Given that the child is of mixed race, it would seem apparent that the presence of the flag is not in the child’s best interests, as the mother must encourage and teach the child to embrace her mixed-race identity, rather than thrust her into a world that only makes sense through the tortured lens of cognitive dissonance,” Pritzker wrote. “Further, and viewed pragmatically, the presence of the confederate flag is a symbol inflaming the already strained relationship between the parties.”

How one feels about the Confederate flag is irrelevant to the real issue here.

Those who grin at the removal of Confederate symbolism from the public eye should know that the implications of this could and likely will extend far beyond Southern heritage.

The list of contraband symbolism, political views, and speech is sure to grow as the war on the specter of white supremacy escalates. Some might say that it is paranoid to suspect as much, an example of the slippery slope fallacy. Those people also thought that the toppling of statues would stop with Confederate monuments.

Those people need to get their heads around the undeniable fact that the neverending escalations of the toxic Left will NEVER stop. Appease them all you like; bend over backwards for them until your spine (if any) snaps, betray every last principle you ever held dear, accept another false “compromise” in which you somehow gain nothing as your “reward” for yielding—it won’t matter. They will always and forever come back with yet another demand, yet another depredation, looking to take the next bite of your freedom until every last morsel of it has been gobbled up.

So stop doing it. It’s long past time that Team Liberty recognized that the Left has from the very beginning played the long game, never for an instant taking their eyes off the prize they seek: tyranny. Any momentary gesture they give to comity, accomodation, reason, and cooperation is false, a manipulation intended to move them closer to their ultimate goal. Giving in, if only for the sake of holding on briefly to some semblance of peace, does nothing but further embolden them. Unless we fight them ferociously on every issue—even the most seemingly trivial of them—we will one day find ourselves with our backs against the wall, left with no ground on which we can stand.

I am a Son of the South. The Confederacy is part of my cultural heritage; I am proud to fly its Battle Flag via the tattoo of it on my right arm, and I do not give a good goddamn what ANYBODY thinks about that.

“We Don’t Have a President”

Bonchie says it like it’s a bad thing.

So where exactly is Joe Biden, the man who is ostensibly the President of the United States?

No one can seem to figure that out. He’s given no public statements about the two major crises of the last 24 hours. His surrogates have sent mixed messages, with Jen Psaki chastising Israel for being attacked by Palestinian terrorists today. In regards to the pipeline, the administration claimed that it was a “private sector” matter in one of the more surreal moments of Biden’s presidency. I guess there weren’t enough fake nooses hung to get the FBI to jump into action?

Regardless, it’s becoming clearer and clearer that we don’t have a president, at least not in any traditional sense. Sure, we have a man who holds the office while his handlers make all the decisions and craft all the narratives, but we don’t have a president who can stand up and provide guidance on the tough issues. Biden is a coward anyway. He won’t stand up to those pulling the strings around him nor will he stand up to despots around the world.

That’s what I meant when I implied above that not having a president might not be such a bad thing. If the choice is between Bai-Ding and/or his puppeteers or no POTUS at all, I’ll take Door Number Two every day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

The Palestinians had not fired a rocket at Jerusalem since 2014 until this week. What changed, exactly? Well, Biden’s handlers decided to reinstate “aid” payments to the Palestinians. They are emboldened, knowing that Donald Trump isn’t there to push back anymore while Biden is happy to play into his own weakness, coddling the terrorists who are currently killing Jews in the streets.

And speaking of Trump, could you imagine the gnashing of teeth that would occur if he just disappeared the day Israel basically went to war and hackers shut down gasoline distribution to the Southeast and East Coast? He’d be accused of being derelict in his duty. Yet, no one in the media seems to even be concerned that Biden is MIA during one of the most consequential, complicated weeks the country has seen in quite some time. In fact, they seem to be far more obsessed with fluffing Liz Cheney than the fact that the jobs market is stagnating while inflation remains out of control.

There are consequences to electing a senile old man to a job that requires at least some level of coherence. The country is receiving those consequences good and hard right now. Voters should take note because this isn’t going to get better. The only way to turn this around is to stop voting with your emotions and start paying attention to the things that really matter.

Au contraire, mon frére. The only real way to turn this around is to stop voting altogether—to acknowledge, once and for all, the uselessness of the whole pre-rigged, wholly-corrupt “elections” dumbshow—thereby proclaiming that Real Americans are fully awake to the charade, that the consent of the governed has officially been withheld. And even that is only the first step, and the easiest.

Fairy tales & necessary illusions

People who aren’t looking will never see.

“Equal justice under the law is a hallmark of the American justice system.”

“We have a government restrained by checks and balances.”

“They hate us for our freedoms.”

“If I put my tooth under my pillow, the tooth fairy will come and exchange it for a dollar bill.”

By now most Americans, minus perpetually ignorant boomers and five-year-olds, know the above statements are fairy tales. Not necessarily on the level of Grimm’s scary nightmare tales, more like big white lies and obsolete constructs repeated in unison by propagandists in order to make us feel good so we don’t ask too many questions.

In the information security business, there is a saying that security by obscurity is no security at all—meaning hiding from hackers is not a winning security strategy. The parallel to this in politics is anonymity is freedom. In other words, I am free as long as the tyrant doesn’t know I exist.

The reality, however, is one can never get small enough or anonymous enough to be free from evil when evil rules the land. Freedom through anonymity is not real freedom—it’s merely an illusion. Illusions are the bread and butter of the tyrant—for if the masses knew the truth they would be ungovernable and the tyrant’s life would be, in Hobbesian terms, a nasty, brutish, and short affair. Because of this, the tyrant strives to keep the necessary illusions alive in the minds of the common people. One of the biggest illusions traditional America clings to right now is that it still retains constitutional rights recognized and respected by its government in Washington, D.C.

In the 1989 classic sports fantasy movie “Field of Dreams,” Kevin Costner’s character, an Iowa corn farmer, repeatedly hears a voice whispering “If you build it, they will come,”—“it” being a baseball diamond.  So, despite the craziness of the idea, Costner plows under a portion of his corn crop and builds a baseball field and—long story short—a bunch of old-time baseball heroes show up and play a game . . . his farm is saved from foreclosure, families are reunited, and happy endings all around.

We all like stories with happy endings, but someone, or rather some people, applied the mantra “if you build it, they will come” to the wrong dream. They decided to build the infrastructure of a tyranny—and voilà, guess who showed up? Tyrants.

The following section opens with a truly succulent line—”Enter the shitshow that was the George W. Bush Administration”—before moving on to a chilling examination of a quiet Bush-admin rule change that basically grants the FBI complete carte blanche to launch open-ended, unrestrained investigations into any American they want, with neither accountability nor Congressional oversight, predicated on…well, on nothing whatsoever.

Trust me: as cynical as you may think you already are about the FBI, you ain’t anywhere NEAR cynical enough. It all comes down to this.

Right now, traditional Americans are under attack by a ruling elite empowered by the weaponized institutions of justice in America. We are accused of being extremists, terrorists, racists, and white supremacists—all without a shred of actual evidence. Like Kafka’s The Trial, our denials are considered evidence of our crimes. In reality, all of this is merely an attempt to intimidate the elite’s political opposition. Their goal is to silence traditional America as they take control of our once free and independent nation in order to pursue the objectives of an unaccountable oligarchy. Make no mistake, the elites are shouting the command “submit” and preparing to force us into acquiescing to our own destruction.

Traditional Americans should consider the consequences of what is coming. If an FBI agent approaches your employer and claims you are a potential violent extremist, how do you think your employer will react? Do you think you will still have a job at the end of the week? What about your neighbors? If an FBI agent makes the rounds in your neighborhood and inquiries about your alleged extremist proclivities, do you think your neighbors will still invite you over for the 4th of July BBQ? What happens when the FBI recruits your neighbors or your children’s teachers as informants? What happens when they park an obvious surveillance element outside your house 24/7 for everyone, including you, to see? How can you defend yourself from what is effectively a whisper campaign, the sole purpose of which is to destroy your life and make an example of you for other Americans to see?

When government agents can circumvent your due process rights without any legal predicate, you are no longer a free citizen; you are a subject in a tyranny. Traditional Americans need to understand that this is the case right now. You may believe you are free because you are still relatively anonymous to the tyrant, and that is likely true, right up until the point it isn’t.

Thankfully, this time Morton resists the temptation to lapse into any of the “Vote harderer!” folly he’s succumbed to in some of his previous outings. Maybe, having manfully faced up to the grim facts of life in Amerika v2.0 in the year of our Lord 2021 AD, it’s finally dawned on him how very little “elections” actually amount to under the sway of illegitimate, systemically corrupt, tyrannical regimes.

Don’t even get us started on the whole “good guy with a gun” thing. It’s high time to figure out how America’s gun problem got this bad, and what we as citizens of this glorious mess can do to help fix it.

“The fact that 316 people are victims of gun violence in the United States every single day makes me want to Zoom call every politician in this country and just scream at them,” says Bee. “But the polite Canadian in me won’t actually allow me to raise my voice, so we’re doing the comedy special equivalent of that instead.”

Bee’s Full Frontal showcase, a cavalcade of hateful, hard-left talking points, cannot be trusted to share the whole story on gun violence and possible solutions. Progressive comedy exists, in part, to push partisan goals and dodge fact checks.

Bee’s upcoming show is just part of the comedy Left’s war on guns.

This is the point where most Righty pundits get busy puking up a ton of facts, figures, and statistics to prove to the Progtards how utterly full of shit they truly are, but y’know what? I’m all done with such useless circle-jerkery. The Left doesn’t care, ain’t listening anyhow, and hasn’t the least intention of letting any piffling facts get in the way of realizing their eternal ambitions.

No, the time for talk is well and truly over. Further one-sided “debate” with these “people” is worse than a waste of time, and we all know it is. Time to settle the issue once and for all. Mad as hell, not gonna take it anymore

However “purple” it might be turning, Texas ain’t Portland. Not yet, it ain’t.

BLM protesters in Plano, Texas are just as intoxicated by the power, attention, and accommodation they get from the national press as the BLM/Antifa/Black Bloc cabal is in every state. And so they came out to block a major intersection used by regular working folks, emergency vehicles, commercial transportation, and all of the normal kinds of traffic that normal people rely on every day for their health, well-being, and income.

They block this because they are told every day by the TV networks and Democrats who exploit them, that they are fighting against “systemic racism” by depriving people with no power of the very roads they need to get by.

The cops don’t, won’t, and can’t do much about it. In this case, they did absolutely nothing at all until a fed-up citizen tried to take matters in hand. THEN suddenly the cop is ready to get someone out of the intersection.

Punish the righteous? Typical. That’s how it works in America now. At least, it is if you don’t have the right skin color.

The large white man in the video starts off yelling at the Black Lies Murder slimewads to “get the fuck out of my way!” before stalking over to one of the supine, complicit cops to angrily demand, “where are the goddamned cops?” Alas, the answer is standing right there in front of him—they’re present sure enough, but they’re playing for the other team. Even for someone willing to assume honest intentions on the cops’ part, there’s no getting around the fact that shirking their sworn duty to maintain civil order by allowing the mob to illegally block streets and menace innocent bystanders suggests these officers have a seriously warped idea of what constitutes fair and evenhanded enforcement of the law.

Either LEOs get their heads right and recognize who their natural allies and supporters have always been, or Normals will get theirs on straight and decide to start acting as if the cops really are what they increasingly seem to be: enemies. If the police believe that choosing a side is any part of their job, they’ll be better off to think things over very carefully and make sure they choose the right one.

Alien occupation

They ain’t us.

Over the years I have come to realize that the world of politics and our world disconnected at some point. There has always been a separation of politics and regular life, but with enough movement back and forth to keep both sides tethered to one another. There was also the practical reality of politics depending on popular support. If things got bad for the people, they may try to hang the king, so the king had to keep an eye on them.

Today they are completely different worlds. I have a segment on Liz Cheney. Her life may as well have been lived in another solar system. Technically, she is supposed to be representing the interests of Wyoming in the people’s house. In reality, she is the Cloud People’s representative to the Dirt People of Wyoming. She may as well correspond with them via video link, like the alien overlords in sci-fi movies. “People of Wyoming, this is your humanoid representative. Obey and listen to instructions.”

Again, all societies, regardless of the form of government, have a ruling elite that is often at odds with and out of touch with the people. That is why there are subsystems that provide feedback to the decision makers. That is the problem that parliaments are supposed to solve. How best to keep the rulers and the ruled in communication so both sides understand the other enough to avoid conflict. Today, those feedback loops no longer exist. The political system operates in isolation from us.

The result is we have the Dirt People thinking they live in a representative democracy where their votes dictate public policy. The Cloud People think they live in a novel form of dictatorship where their decisions are applauded by the masses. It is why so many of the Cloud People are convinced there is an evil conspiracy afoot to rile up the masses against the system. Why else would they not be clapping? From their perspective, the system is running as expected, so the opposition is illogical.

The Dirt People, having been trained their whole lives to think the humanoids they choose between in elections care about their votes, are baffled by why those humanoids never following instructions. Unable to question the logic of the system itself, they come up with novel theories about why the Cloud People are doing the things they are doing. At some point, the right answer is “they are not us”.

Indeed they aren’t—which is the consequence of allowing a Professional Politician class (or ProPols, as I’ve taken to calling them of late) to rise and flourish. This most regrettable lapse into inattentiveness, and its inevitable result, is exactly what the Founders—in their remarkable wisdom and foresight—dreaded, feared, and explicitly cautioned their posterity against. The very idea of making a career out of politics, as opposed to doing a term or two of what can no longer be referred to as “public service” with a straight face, was anathema to them. Just one more thing those titans among men got right.

I’ll say it again: our problems don’t stem from some shortcoming of the Constitution’s, nor even from the long-extinct government for which that neglected and abused document was the foundation. The Founders’ blueprint for proper governance, the US Constitution, was as close to flawless as fallen humanity could possibly come. It has never yet been surpassed, and it’s unlikely that it ever will be. The simple, obvious fact that the further we stray from it the worse our situation gets ought to be all the demonstration of it anybody should ever need. Call it the Constitution’s real-world proof of concept, maybe.

We are where we are today not because the Founders were lacking in vision or foresight. On the contrary, things have turned out precisely as they predicted they would, should their descendents ever foolishly disregard their warnings and relax their vigilance against tyranny. The failure was in no way theirs. It was ours.
