The Great Erasure

Common ground between the Left and the jihadists: neither can stand up under the pitiless gaze of history.

Did you know that Paul McCartney once wrote a song celebrating slavery? Well, neither did he. It took about half a century after “Penny Lane” was a hit for the Beatles before historians decided that this street in Liverpool was a legacy of the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Sir Paul wrote the song as a nostalgic ode to Penny Lane as the scene of childhood happiness “beneath the blue suburban skies.” The Liverpool-born musician could not have known, while composing the cheerful tune in the mid-1960s, that scholars would one day conclude Penny Lane was probably named in honor of James Penny, a local mariner who made his fortune in the slave trade in the 1700s. Historians have not been able to prove this as a certainty, but the mere possibility was enough to inspire vandals to deface a sign in Liverpool with graffiti: “RACIST Lane.”

History is a horror show for liberals, who only look to the past in search of grievances they can exploit in their remorseless quest for political power. The liberal has a quasi-religious faith in Progress, which means that yesterday — another McCartney song title — was self-evidently worse than today. The past was a bad time, according to liberals, who see nothing there but oppression. Your nostalgia for the pleasant memories of childhood is almost certainly racist, and probably also sexist and homophobic. Now that I think about it, didn’t McCartney’s lyrics in “Get Back” mock someone who “thought she was a woman, but she was another man”? Isn’t this the textbook definition of transphobic hate speech?

“Get back home, Loretta,” McCartney sang, but wherever she (or he) was from, Loretta probably wouldn’t recognize his or her hometown today. The vandal horde is everywhere, smashing windows and tearing down statues. If Loretta was from Seattle, a trip back home might land her (or him) in the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ). Protesters in Seattle chased off the police, took over the neighborhood, and set up what seems to be an attempted 21st-century reenactment of the 1871 Paris Commune. If nothing else, the drug-addled mob in CHAZ are proving the truth of Karl Marx’s aphorism that history repeats itself, “the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.”

Americans have been fed a racist diet, just the same as the Beatles were raised on racist streets in Liverpool. This is what we are told by the devotees of Progress who go rummaging through the past like Indiana Jones exploring a tomb in a remote jungle — Raiders of the Lost Racism, as it were — in search of something to be angry about. How many statues of Christopher Columbus have been vandalized or removed since George Floyd’s death? I lost count last week at four, but I’m pretty sure it’s more than that now. In destroying monuments to Columbus, however, the vandal horde is at least taking aim at the Spanish empire rather than our own English forebears, but most statues of Columbus were erected as a celebration of Italian heritage. No less a liberal than New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo expressed some resentment of attacks on Columbus, saying “the statue has come to represent and signify appreciation for the Italian-American contribution to New York.” So it’s OK for the mob to vandalize symbols of your heritage, but not Cuomo’s heritage.

Of course, it’s difficult to understand what a statue of Columbus in New York has to do with police brutality in Minnesota, but we can’t expect vandal hordes to be logical. In their frenzy of destruction, the anarchist mob in Boston defaced a memorial to the all-black 54th Massachusetts Regiment, made famous in the Oscar-winning movie Glory; in Philadelphia, a statue of abolitionist Matthias Baldwin was attacked. What liberals call Progress often appears to be a descent into barbarism, but however ignorant the mobs are of the dead men whose monuments they deface, the vandals are nonetheless certain that (a) because the past was bad, therefore (b) anyone who lived in the past is undeserving of respect.

Excuse me for pointing out what absurd consequences might result if we follow the logic of Progress to its possible conclusion. So much news in the headlines of the past few weeks has been absurd that I don’t think we can rule out further absurdities. Our happiest childhood memories are now subject to being denounced as hate crimes, and the history we’re not allowed to celebrate keeps repeating itself anyway, sometimes as farce, but too often as tragedy. “I believe in yesterday,” Paul McCartney once sang. Soon we may be left with no yesterday to believe in.

Which, of course, is the whole point. The goal of the Progressivist project from its very beginning was to mold the unsatisfactorily-evolved masses into New Progressive Man, with or without his consent. What better way to do it than by starting out with a blank slate?

Pinch me, I must be dreaming

Okay, I did NOT see this one coming.

Rob Lowe Stuns Conan O’Brien By Revealing Friendship With Justice Clarence Thomas

*vigorously shakes head, rubs eyes, pours stiff drink, downs it in one*

“Wait, you know him?” a seemingly surprised O’Brien responded, as reported by Fox News.

According to Lowe, the two met when he was inducted into the Horatio Alger Society a few years ago, prompting their friendship.

“I do know him. I got inducted into the Horatio Alger Society a couple years ago. … It’s a very exclusive, very amazing society that provides scholarships for kids who come from terrible, terrible backgrounds,” Lowe said. “But they are the best and the brightest in their classes. And the people in it are pretty studly. He’s one of them. That’s how we met. They put the medal on me in the halls of the Supreme Court.”

“Wow. Okay,” O’Brien said.

Lowe described Thomas as a generous man who even provided some helpful career advice to his own son.

“The reason I bring it up is he’s one of those people who occupies such a perception in people’s minds and he’s like, ‘If you ever need anything, call my number. This is my cell phone,’” Lowe said. “And then my son Matthew was going to law school. So I had some ideas about clerking and things like that.”

“So I call this cell phone and he answers it. And you’re like, ‘Geeze. Shouldn’t there be, like, a vetting process?’ And 45 minutes he’s giving me advice on what my son should do vis-a-vis law school and clerking,” he continued.

Though his political stance is murky at best, Rob Lowe has never conformed to the Hollywood leftist dictates that seek to ostracize conservatives from all of public life by dismissing their ideas and leaders as subhumans unworthy of debate or quarter. The Hollowverse characterized him as a liberal-leaning man that respects conservative views. For instance, he previously said, “Liberal politics is built on empathy. I think conservative politics, from my opinion, is built on logic.”

A tolerant, rational Hollywood liberal is unexpected. That he forged a friendly relationship with Clarence Thomas is surprising. That he would unapologetically admit to the friendship in a broadcast interview is extraordinary. That this person would turn out to be Rob Lowe vaults it on up into the realm of actual slackjawed, bug-eyed shock. Kudos to the man. He provided me a rare opportunity to dust off an old post category of mine for the first time in I can’t even remember when.

Derac(ist)ination

Et tu, Mrs Butterworth’s?

Both hot cereal maker Cream of Wheat and syrup brand Mrs. Butterworth’s have confirmed they’ve initiated packaging reviews in the wake of PepsiCo’s bombshell announcement on Wednesday that it would retire Aunt Jemima after 131 years.

That was quickly followed on Wednesday by a statement from Uncle Ben’s, which said it is “evolving the visual brand identity.” A spokesperson said the brand is “evaluating all possibilities,” so it is unclear if the name Uncle Ben will remain.

Once again, this marks a dramatic shift for these brands’ corporate parent companies, who just two months ago had little or no comment on the mascots’ roots in nostalgia for slavery.

“Nostalgia for slavery,” is it? Well, okay then. An easy call to make, I guess, especially when you hear the exaggerated Negro patois that fairly well screams—FOR JUSTICE!—from this old ad:

Sheeit, cuz, dat syrup ho be talkin’ all black n shit, nomesayn?

The Mrs Butterworth’s talking syrup-jug ads featured a woman named Kwelzeesha Obunto Bootylicious McCorkle for many…oh, no, wait, it was actually some cracker-ass bitch named Mark Kay Bergman, who later went on to voice female characters on South Park until her suicide in 1999, as well as doing…ummm…Disney’s Snow White?!?

Hey, can’t get much more “nostalgic for slavery” than that, right? Or black-stereotype-y, either.

Fucking idiots. But hey, you corporate crawly things keep right on with all the bowing, scraping, and forelock tugging to a pack of ravenous PC hyenas that will never be satisfied no matter how hard you grovel, by all means. Then, one day, maybe we’ll end up like this:

Activists Fight Racism By Driving All People Of Color Out Of Pop Culture
U.S.—Activists are fighting racism by demanding that people of color be removed from all media, brands, logos, mascots, and anywhere else they might pop up.

“Anywhere we see a person of color, we see racism. So we must end racism by making sure people of color are not depicted anywhere,” said white liberal activist Petunia Faucett. “We will not rest until all pop culture icons of color are eliminated. Then, racism will be over.”

Suuuure it will, genius.

Update! Well, this would explain a lot.

JEMIMAHILLARY-600x381.jpg

A new low—even for them

Annnnd it’s official: we have now reached the absolute nadir of liberal/SJW absurd stupidity.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Oakland’s mayor said five ropes found hanging from trees in a city park are nooses and racially-charged symbols of terror but a resident said they are merely exercise equipment that he put up there months ago.

Mayor Libby Schaaf said Wedesday that a hate crime investigation was under way after a social media post identified a noose at the city’s popular Lake Merritt. Police said they searched the area on Tuesday and found five ropes attached to trees.

The Police Department provided five photographs of trees, some of which showed knotted ropes and one that appeared to have a piece of plastic pipe attached to a rope, hanging from tree limbs.

They have been removed by city officials.

“A piece of plastic pipe attached to a rope” will, of course, be entirely familiar to anyone who has ever spent a single moment inside a gym, who will immediately recognize that it bears NO FUCKING RESEMBLANCE WHATSOEVER to a noose of any sort. With this embarrassent, which will of course embarrass them not one whit, the SJW/Race-Warrior Left has beclowned itself so spectacularly as to have become the Evel Knievel of shark-jumping. Congrats on that sterling “achievement” there, guys. Ace gets jiggy with it:

nooses-NOT.jpg

Artist’s Depiction: White supremacists performing Alt-Right Exercises with TRX suspension nooses in a Boogaloo Brigade training facility

Ahh, but the guy who hung these “nooses” would just about have to be some kind of super-Nazi, Aryan Nation-type RAYCISS, wouldn’t you say?

Victor Sengbe, WHO IS BLACK, told KGO-TV that the ropes were part of a rigging that he and his friends used as part of a larger swing system. He also shared video of the swing in use.

“Out of the dozen and hundreds and thousands of people that walked by, no one has thought that it looked anywhere close to a noose. Folks have used it for exercise. It was really a fun addition to the park that we tried to create,” Sengbe said.

“It’s unfortunate that a genuine gesture of just wanting to have a good time got misinterpreted into something so heinous,” he told the station.

Ooooops. Emphasis mine, natch. But of course, even in the face of such a numbingly preposterous overreaction from Oakland Leftard city authority, AP can’t help but get in a little sermonizing regardless. It’s who they are, it’s what they do.

Nooses have been associated with the lynching of black people and used as symbols to taunt or terrorize African Americans.

Oh yesyesyes indubitably, in literally dozens of fake “hate-crime incidents” artifically contrived by mentally-disordered, attention-seeking Negroes all across the nation, none of which I will bother looking up links for because I no longer give a shit.

But then we come to the truly dangerous part. Emphasis, again, mine:

Schaaf said officials must “start with the assumption that these are hate crimes.” However, the mayor and Nicholas Williams, the city’s director of parks recreation, also said it didn’t matter whether the ropes were meant to send a racist message.

“Intentions don’t matter when it comes to terrorizing the public,” Schaaf said. “It is incumbent on all of us to know the actual history of racial violence, of terrorism, that a noose represents and that we as a city must remove these terrorizing symbols from the public view.”

“The symbolism of the rope hanging in the tree is malicious regardless of intent. It’s evil, and it symbolizes hatred,” Williams said.

Even when, as in this case, it actually doesn’t.

That we even have officially-designated and defined “hate crimes” in the first place is a crime, as un-American a notion as I can think of. That we have “people” in positions of authority who think like the excrescence Schaaf is downright terrifying. That we continue to meekly tolerate humbug as patently offensive and degrading as this—and take the panty-soaking hysterics who pimp it against all rationality, decency, and common sense seriously—is a national disgrace.

ZOMGRUFKM update! A lot of it going around these days.

Gov. Cuomo Rips ‘Evil Icon Of Our Nation’s Racist Past’ When ‘Noose’ Found In Harlem Park. Then The Truth Comes Out.

Time to ban rope entirely, I suppose. Sounds ridiculous, I know—right up until you recall how ban-happy shitlibs are anyway, just as a matter of reflex. IF EVEN ONE LIFE IS SAVED…!!!

Oh God, THIS again?

I say again: one of the toughest jobs in the whole wide world these days must be working at the Babylon Bee.

Black Lives Matter Activist: Your Kellogg’s Box Is Racist

Of course it is. Because hey, what isn’t?

Black Lives Matter activist and former UK member of Parliament Fiona Onasanya went after Kellogg’s Monday for perpetuating an exhaustively racist society with the presence of “three white boys” serving as the mascots of one of its signature cereals, Rice Krispies.

Onasanya, who was expelled from the UK Labour Party in 2018 and lost her seat in Parliament last year after being sentenced to three months in prison for lying to police about speeding, claims the global brand is being racist with its fictional cereal characters.

“Coco Pops and Rice Krispies have the same composition (except for the fact [Coco Pops] are brown and chocolate flavoured)… so I was wondering why Rice Krispies have three white boys representing the brand and Coco Pops have a monkey?” Onasanya inquired on Twitter.

Because you’re a stupid fucking idiot, that’s why. As we shall see momentarily.

Onasanya’s online attack quickly drew ridicule from users on Twitter who made sure to point out that the beloved characters of Snap, Crackle, and Pop are also the brand champions for Cocoa Krispies, the chocolate flavored Rice Krispies.

Another responded to Onasanya’s attacks with “Elves Lives Matter.”

Which puts me in mind of a story I’ve told here several times over the years, and am only too happy to relate again for any who might have missed it.

When I was living in Atlanta, there was TeeWee news coverage of a big protest held at the local Keebler factory. A bunch of mouthbreathing dimwits got together and decided to wax OUTRAGED!! over the fact that all the Keebler elves were, umm, white. Why were there no black Keebler elves, they demanded in high and righteous dudgeon? It’s DISCRIMINATORY! It’s OPPRESSION! It’s UNFAIR! It’s…it’s…it’s RAYCISS!!!

No lie, you could actually feel your IQ dropping as you watched these characters carrying on, marching around in circles chanting and waving their fancy signs. Until a local newspaper wag pointed out the obvious: THEY’RE ELVES, DUMBASS. CARTOON CHARACTERS. ELVES AREN’T REAL. THERE ARE NO ACTUAL ELVES, ANYWHERE. NONE.

Whereupon whatever sensible people were left in the ATL environs yawned hugely, turned off the TV, and got on with their lives. The protest did a fast fade, at least until the next reason to be all upset and pissed off came along. Which, it always does. Usually pretty damned quick.

Black Feelz Matter

A “national conversation” we will never, ever have.

Of course, there’s no “national discussion” about the plague of black males resisting arrest, even though that’s been a feature in every last one of these high-profile Race Porn cases.

That’s because at this moment in the USA, black feelings matter more than anything else. An unwarranted concern for black feelings—don’t EVER make them angry—may be the wrecking ball that obliterates this country beyond repair.

Is it worth it?

Long ago, I was robbed at gunpoint by a black guy in Center City Philly. Was also sucker-punched by a black guy in South Philly while a throng of blacks stood around, cheering. I know a white woman who was raped by a black guy in Chicago almost two years ago. I know someone here in Atlanta whose two roommates were murdered by black thugs five years ago. I strain to think of anyone I know who hasn’t had some sort of extraordinarily unpleasant encounter with a black person.

Miraculously, despite all the “racists” with whom I rub elbows in my editorial meanderings, I’ve never met anyone who’s committed a violent crime against a black person. Not once. Ever.

Something is seriously wrong with the picture that’s being painted.

The narrative has been mangled far beyond any resemblance to reality. They have diligently sculpted a rock-hard Social Gospel that preemptively rules out every possible explanation for black failure besides “racism.”

We hear that blacks built this country. I didn’t realize you were able to build the world’s sole superpower merely by picking cotton. If that’s the case, one is forced to wonder why they aren’t creating any cotton-pickin’ superpowers in sub-Saharan Africa.

We hear about the nine or so annual killings of unarmed black people by police, but never about the 5,000-8,000 annual black-on-black murders.

We hear about how blacks are supposedly “kept down” here, but never about the fact that on average, black Americans live 15 years longer than black people in Africa and make $15,000 more per year.

We hear about how the system exploits blacks. Funny, but all the stats I’ve seen suggest that they take far more from the public till than they contribute to it. Over half of black households pay no taxes at all, so exactly who’s the exploiter here?

We hear that blacks are constantly being violently terrorized by whites. We never hear the real interracial crime stats. Never.

Merely by mentioning how wildly reality clashes with the popular narrative of unending brutality against blacks, you are ostracized and unpersoned and forever banished from polite society. And the worst part is that a huge part of those doing the social lynching are other white people operating on the laughably naïve assumption that somehow their loud gestures will spare them when the witching hour comes.

I believe the current national crisis has not been caused by an undervaluation of black life but rather an unwarranted reverence for—and fear of—black people’s feelings. Despite the torrents of propaganda, there is no defamation of blacks in the media. Instead, it is constant unrealistic praise. Black Americans have received so much sympathy, they appear to be overdosing on it.

Obviously no one gives a shit about my feelings or those of any white male at this point. You’ve made that brutally clear. And yet we haven’t burned buildings over it. Maybe we’re less insecure? Maybe, despite all your efforts, we feel far less shame about our history than black people feel about theirs?

We hear all the time about black rage, but never about black shame. It’s almost as if they have nothing to be ashamed of and countless reasons to be proud.

I’ve long thought that what underlies black rage is black shame. After all, it would seem to be quite a blow to the self-esteem to have such a history of being conquered and exploited and always winding up on the bottom no matter where you go or who surrounds you. It might make one wonder why this has been so easy to do historically. It might even lead an introspective person to suspect the deficiencies might lie with themselves rather than with everyone else.

No, white boy, shut yo’ pasty pink mouth, because BLACK LIVES MATTER MORE THAN WHITE FEELINGS.

When it comes to feelings, white men face an impossible scenario—they are either presumed to not have feelings at all (because they’re monsters), or they’re mocked for expressing any feelings at all—boo-hoo-hoo, white boy, go drown in your tears. The only feeling they’re permitted to express is a deep and incurable sense of self-hatred.

Explain to me why I should care about the feelings of people who don’t care about mine. I can’t spare a single feeling for someone who wishes me dead.

I’m supposed to kowtow to a gaggle of illiterate oinking livestock who can’t tell the difference between feelings and facts.

It’s all so tiresome.

Tiresome doesn’t even BEGIN to cover it.

The Long March reaches its destination

And once again, I find that a long post I’ve been working on for several days is superceded by somebody who says exactly what I was trying to, only better.

The crime syndicate dominated Windy City was fertile ground for the plot of world conquest. The Mob was already in the business of brutality, deception, and despotism, the same means Leftists use to achieve their goals. It was a natural partnership. Through the bait and switch tactics of “community organizing,” Frankfurt School corruption of education, and the nurturing of toxic radicals like Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers, and Barack Obama, the Illinois spawned alliance of Marxist Crime has now long marched its way into being the political system of Globalism.

It’s not called what it is, of course. Leftists lie and distort; it’s necessary to hide their evil intentions. We’ve come to call this mass cultural subversion Postmodernism. And what we’ve been going through in 2020 is the push to bring Postmodernism to its final solution: the destruction of Western Civilization. Postmodern partisans seek to switch off the Enlightenment, in order to rule over a new Dark Age.

When I started writing this piece just a few short weeks ago, I had plenty to say about how the wacky woo hoo virus hysteria exposed massive corruption and Chinese influence in our traitorous elitists. Arbitrary and needless shutdowns devoured American prosperity, coincidentally right when a new trade agreement undercut Chinese market manipulations, and a tectonic scale spy scandal started emerging regarding the Obama administration and all their cronies.

China’s rigid totalitarian system is the desired outcome of the majority of the world’s administrative classes. They won’t admit this, but look at their actions, instead of listening to their empty words.

Events overtook the essay I was preparing. So now we have divisive race riots being inflamed, on top of the Overblown Outbreak. This is just a continuation of the same war, a new battlefield of the thoroughly planned and prepared Postmodern assault on the United States. It’s being facilitated across our culture by a massive betrayal by the New Aristocracy of the Well Connected, our own countrymen. As they’ve demanded society mask up to pretend to prevent disease, and to facilitate looting, our betters have been unmasked as the deeply embedded enemies within.

This is Postmodern War for the 21st century. It’s not fought openly with bombs and soldiers. It’s combat waged by other means, with biological agents, economics, propaganda, data manipulation, sabotage.

The primary difference between Bledsoe’s take and my own is that he’s way, WAY more optimistic than I am about the eventual outcome. We can only hope he has it right, and I don’t.

The only sane response

What he said, times a million billion.

The sooner the better, sez I. Because as I always say, the Left is never going to stop all this horseshit lunacy; it will have to BE stopped. Yes, that will surely mean violence and bloodshed, I’m afraid. So be it. Ace lays down the straight skinny:

The people with all the actual privileges scream that they’re “marginalized,” while attacking the people who are actually marginalized by the system as, supposedly, “privileged.”

It’s a madhouse, and one in which the lunatics run the asylum.

And it will not last long.

The left wants a revolution?

So do we.

Bring it on, soibois.

Mega, mega, megadittos.

Fake, phony, fraud

Much ado about very little.

The Covid-19 death toll may be less than half of what has been recorded because many victims of the pandemic would have died soon anyway, one of Britain’s leading medics has said.

Professor Karol Sikora, a senior oncologist who has built a huge Twitter following for his positive takes on the virus crisis, said doctors were sometimes too eager to put Covid-19 on death certificates.

Speaking to The Telegraph’s Planet Normal podcast – which you can listen to on the player above – Prof Sikora said the virus would be mentioned on death certificates when there was “any hint” that it could have been the cause, without proof, as well as retrospectively over the phone.

The total number of deaths, rather than what is on the death certificates, should be used to judge the impact of the virus, he said, estimating the real death toll to be  20,000 to 30,000.

He said: “It could end up that more people have died because of lack of medical care directly caused by the unavailability of it, because its facilities have been taken over for Covid.

“If we look at the numbers, how many people have really died from Covid that wouldn’t be dead at the end of the year? The numbers vary enormously. The current ONS data suggests 60,000 people have died from Covid. I’m sure that’s not really the case, it’s because of the counting we discussed earlier.”

Ahh, but even though our masters temporarily suspended the COVIDIOT panic so as to allow for the Black Lies Murder/PantiFa riots, don’t dream it’s over. Sundance sees what’s coming.

If we think they’ve thrown the kitchen sink at us, just wait. The Trump campaign has announced the restart of Keep America Great rallies to begin in Tulsa Oklahoma on June 19th. And with that announcement we can immediately predict the apparatus of the resistance forces will once again start pushing the COVID-19 narrative.

My response, SCREW ‘EM.

I refuse to live on my knees.

“Rally to the standard” is a call to arms when a situation is critical, there is no time for lengthy debate, and optimal solutions are needed. The COVID-19 virus was weaponized for political purposes against us and our economy. Nothing they attempt now to try and retake that position should be taken seriously.

Given their overlong record of incompetence, dishonesty, and utter failure, I can scarcely believe how seriously they were taken the first time, myself. The simple truth:

Is there going to be a second wave? Maybe. It doesn’t matter. We know enough about COVID-19 to realize that it’s not an excuse to continue to destroy the economy and send people into destitution. It’s not enough of a threat to destroy jobs, tank companies, and push people into another panic. We need precautions for the most vulnerable among us, namely the elderly and those with preexisting conditions. For the rest of us, we need (the) freedom to live our lives, go to work, go to church, or essentially whatever else we want to do.

It’s about choice. Just because lockdowns are not implemented again doesn’t mean people will be forced to venture forth into the coronavirus-ridden world if they prefer to stay locked down. But their choice to stay at home should not influence our choice to live our lives. The coronavirus didn’t kill the initial estimate of 2.2 million. It didn’t come close. It wasn’t a nothingburger, but it was nowhere near the existential threat we were told it would be.

Patriots need to stand strong against the next wave of lockdown attempts by government. Those of us in blue states or Democratic-majority cities need to be especially vocal with our unwillingness to comply with draconian mandates. We need to protest and take it to the courts if necessary. We need to engage in civil disobedience at times, and that doesn’t mean riot like the left is wont to do. We don’t need more riots. We need more common sense, and fighting Lockdowns 2.0 is a common sense play.

The fight isn’t over. We must keep the pressure up and make sure Democrats and mainstream media know we’re not going to fall for their fearmongering this time. Whether there’s a second wave or not, we must stand strong against authoritarianism.

We ought to be doing that anyway—continually, reflexively, every day and in every way.

Another thing we very much need to do is to stop granting the premise of the nefarious panic-mongers: squirming around about how we can reopen for business and still “maintain adequate social distancing,” “providing hand sanitizer,” wearing masks, etc—as if we were children begging an indulgence from mom and dad by making extravagant promises about what good little boys and girls we’ll surely be.

To hell with all that rot. Anyone who must beg his masters to grant him a little bit of freedom has already lost it. The Clampdown was an outrageous affront to American Constitutional principles; our supine response provided a grim demonstration of exactly how moribund that document really is…and why. The state and local officials who imposed those illegal edicts far exceeded their legitimate authority, and of right ought to be punished severely for that audacious power-grab. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty certain groveling and forelock-tugging about “safety” is NOT the way to go about that.

Defiance, not compliance, people. It’s the American way. Or it was.

No, no, a thousand times no

Remember when I said there was no way in hell I’d be strapping on one of those silly-ass face diapers, no matter what devious, conniving NC state official might insist that I do so in the name of “safety” over their dud COVID scam? Well, here’s another thing I can solemnly assure I ain’t gonna be doing: “taking a knee.”

Others, however, feel differently.

White police officers and members of the community gathered on Saturday to wash the feet of black faith leaders in North Carolina in an echo of the Biblical story of how Jesus washed his disciples’ feet, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The feet-washing event was part of a walk in Cary, North Carolina, to protest the death of George Floyd, led by Legacy Church Center co-pastors Faith Wokoma and husband Soboma.

Wokoma and her husband organized the walk, which included the “Washing of the Feet” ceremony, where at least three white law enforcement officers and three other white attendees washed their feet.

According to pictures on social media, the group knelt in prayer with buckets as the pastors sat on a bench. One attendee is heard on a megaphone praying for forgiveness.

Sad, pathetic, disgraceful—and, ultimately, futile and self-defeating. Mike’s Iron Law for dealing with the Left: they will never be satisfied, no matter what you yield up to them. Each met demand will always and forever generate another more bizarre and/or outrageous one. Far better instead to refuse to grant them a single goddamned thing, so as to forestall the deadly spiral of escalating demands that inevitably results from catering to even the most trivial of their wishes.

Ignoring that Iron Law for so long is probably the biggest single reason you could point to for why we find ourselves at the current sorry pass; appeasing the Left in even the smallest way is a sure-fire recipe for disaster in the long term, no matter how innocuous their initial demand might seem. As with Kipling’s famous wisdom about the Danes and the Danegeld, no matter what you give them, they will always be back for another bite, usually a lot sooner than you might think. Then another. And another. And another. Lather, rinse, repeat, until suddenly you’re shocked and horrified to find yourself standing in the ashes of a burned city, your nation’s history erased and rewritten, your national treasures and monuments reduced to smoking rubble.

And they’ll still hate you anyway, and want you dead. Make this your motto:

Kneel before them now, and before you know it you’ll be fellating them while you’re down there. And why not? By agreeing to humiliate and debase yourself at their command, you’ve already demonstrated the nature of what you truly are. After that, it’s merely a matter of haggling over price.

The greatest Tweet of ALL TIME

Or most side-splittingly enjoyable, at the very least. Backstory:

Just as the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed territory in Iraq and Syria, antifa militants have claimed territory in Seattle, Wash. According to reports on the ground from The Post Millennial’s Andy Ngo and Townhall’s Julio Rosas, protesters and antifa instigators have seized land in the Capitol Hill area around the Seattle Police East Precinct. Like ISIS, the rioters appear to have decided on setting up a government in their occupied territory, naming it “Free Capitol Hill.”

“Seattle [Mayor Jenny Durkan] is allowing a dangerous situation to fester. [Antifa] militants have taken over & created an ‘autonomous zone’ in city w/their own rules. Police precinct abandoned. Antifa set up barricades to create a border. Calling for volunteers to provide armed guard,” Ngo tweeted.

And then the hilarity began.

CHAZ-Tweet.jpg

Delicious, no? I had to swipe the image from Ace’s joint rather than just embedding the Tweet as I usually would, because:

I wanted to find more tweets from this Soy Warrior but xhe’s now protected xhis tweets. Apparently the Soy Warrior had previously admitted to “sexually assaulting” “muliple partners” and resolved to kill ximself. I think that’s why the account is now locked.

But this person is a trans, of course, so leftwingers are rushing in to say “sexual assault doesn’t matter…for some people.”

Of course it doesn’t. As with absolutely everydamnedthing else in this rotten, God-forsaken joke of a “nation” nowadays the only thing that matters is whether the event, phenomenon, atrocity, injustice, or catastrophe can be made useful in some way to the Left. If so, fine, run with that. If not, well…not so much.

But did the hilarity stop with the above Tweet, you ask? Oh good heavens, no. Apparently, the Seattle Soy Warriors huddled all defiant behind the barricades of their newly-founded Shangri-La quickly found themselves beset by their very own version of the Lord Humungus, who unilaterally pronounced himself Dictator Supremo and proceeded to start beating the hell out of anyone who might think or act in ways that displeased Him.

It would require a heart of stone not to fall on the floor and laugh oneself sick over this whole saga, and I for one have no intention whatever of making the slightest effort not to. I will again refer you to Ace for the last word on all this:

I just can’t believe this collection of drug addict filth-squatters, unmedicated schizophrenics, trust fund Chavista weakling runts who are LARPing revolution because of the opportunities it grants them for drug-raping high school freshmen, transexual nomads with borderline personality disorder, rat-tail-braided wan blue-blotched sk8terbois who rent out their mouths in the bus station bathrooms at twenty bucks a load, homeless gender studies majors with a personal interest in fat acceptance who want to be paid to life-coach people into morbid obesity, and hardcore racist gangbanger sub-retards can’t make self-government work.

This is the left’s army — lead-brained droogs and scabrous nightwalkers convinced that they’d be on top if only the system wasn’t stacked against them.

Newsflash, you developmentally delayed, physically repulsive, low-impulse-control mentally sick losers: You’d be on the bottom of any system.

You will always sink to the bottom. You are refuse.

Myself, I long to see a police cordon formed around Liberal Utopia, to stopper any holes the rats inside might try to flee through, until the feeble cheesedicks inside are forced to resort to cannibalism to survive, however long that may take. Then, after clear evidence is seen confirming that they have indeed been forced by deathly hunger to kill, cook, and consume at the very least two of their fellows—and only then—have the cops release them one at a time back into the world. As they pass, each of them should be firmly asked, in the most scornful, scolding, Church-Lady tone they can muster: “Now, what have we learned, children?”

And then, as each wayward brat staggers on off back to his squalid personal domicile in Mommy’s basement, put a bullet in the back of his/her/its fucking empty head. Viola, problem solved, period fucking dot.

The Whiskey Rebellion

The current insurrection has put me in mind of that all but forgotten yet pivotal chapter in American history, so for the last several days I’ve been digging around and edumacatin’ myself about it. It’s a complex, deep, and endlessly fascinating story—almost impossibly rich in Americana, illustrative of so much that went into making America the great nation it once was. The parallels with current events are obvious; the names scattered throughout cannot help but resonate in the heart of any true patriot; the twists and turns of the story, compelling as the whole saga is, are almost too intricate to keep up with.

Alas, it also serves to remind of us just how very far America has fallen, how depressingly unlike our forefathers the succeeding generations grew to be. If the Whiskey Rebellion and other tales from our Founding era were still properly taught in schools, our sad degeneration and decline, both as a nation and as people, would almost certainly never have happened.

The Whiskey Rebellion (also known as the Whiskey Insurrection) was a tax protest in the United States beginning in 1791 and ending in 1794 during the presidency of George Washington, ultimately under the command of American Revolutionary war veteran Major James McFarlane. The so-called “whiskey tax” was the first tax imposed on a domestic product by the newly formed federal government. Beer was difficult to transport and spoiled more easily than rum and whiskey. Rum distillation in the United States had been disrupted during the American War of Independence, and, for factors described below, whiskey distribution and consumption increased after the Revolutionary War (aggregate production had not surpassed rum by 1791). The “whiskey tax” became law in 1791, and was intended to generate revenue for the war debt incurred during the Revolutionary War. The tax applied to all distilled spirits, but consumption of American whiskey was rapidly expanding in the late 18th century, so the excise became widely known as a “whiskey tax”. Farmers of the western frontier were accustomed to distilling their surplus rye, barley, wheat, corn, or fermented grain mixtures to make whiskey. These farmers resisted the tax. In these regions, whiskey often served as a medium of exchange. Many of the resisters were war veterans who believed that they were fighting for the principles of the American Revolution, in particular against taxation without local representation, while the federal government maintained that the taxes were the legal expression of Congressional taxation powers.

Throughout Western Pennsylvania counties, protesters used violence and intimidation to prevent federal officials from collecting the tax. Resistance came to a climax in July 1794, when a U.S. marshal arrived in western Pennsylvania to serve writs to distillers who had not paid the excise. The alarm was raised, and more than 500 armed men attacked the fortified home of tax inspector General John Neville. Washington responded by sending peace commissioners to western Pennsylvania to negotiate with the rebels, while at the same time calling on governors to send a militia force to enforce the tax. Washington himself rode at the head of an army to suppress the insurgency, with 13,000 militiamen provided by the governors of Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The rebels all went home before the arrival of the army, and there was no confrontation. About 20 men were arrested, but all were later acquitted or pardoned. Most distillers in nearby Kentucky were found to be all but impossible to tax—in the next six years, over 175 distillers from Kentucky were convicted of violating the tax law. Numerous examples of resistance are recorded in court documents and newspaper accounts.

The Whiskey Rebellion demonstrated that the new national government had the will and ability to suppress violent resistance to its laws, though the whiskey excise remained difficult to collect. The events contributed to the formation of political parties in the United States, a process already under way. The whiskey tax was repealed in the early 1800s during the Jefferson administration. Historian Carol Berkin argues that the episode in the long run strengthened American nationalism because the people appreciated how well Washington handled the rebels without resorting to tyranny.

I’ll limit my excerpting to the Wikipedia entry—by no means the only source out there, but a good encapsulation that’s very much worth a look.

When Washington left Philadelphia, then the US capitol, to review the mix-and-match militia force assembled to put down the rebellion once and for all, it was the one and only time a sitting US President actually led troops in the field. The overall commander of the force was one General Henry “Lighthorse Harry” Lee, father of another brilliant warrior who went on to play a pivotal role in American history himself.

24 of the Whiskey rebels wound up indicted for high treason, of which only ten were apprehended and tried. After a trial process lasting six months (!), just two of them were convicted. The sentence: death by hanging. A conciliatory and foresighted Washington, wishing to close the books on the matter for the good of the fledgling nation, pardoned both. He made a last-minute addition to his seventh Inaugural Address explaining his reasoning:

“The misled have abandoned their errors,” he stated. “For though I shall always think it a sacred duty to exercise with firmness and energy the constitutional powers with which I am vested, yet it appears to me no less consistent with the public good than it is with my personal feelings to mingle in the operations of Government every degree of moderation and tenderness which the national justice, dignity, and safety may permit.”

There’s much, much more to this story; as I said, it is incredibly rich and compelling, continuing to leave its mark on American history long into the future. To wit:

W. C. Fields recorded a comedy track in Les Paul’s studio in 1946, shortly before his death, entitled “The Temperance Lecture” for the album W. C. Fields … His Only Recording Plus 8 Songs by Mae West. The bit discussed Washington and his role in putting down the Whiskey Rebellion, and Fields wondered aloud whether “George put down a little of the vile stuff too.”

WC Fields, Mae West, and Les Paul—along with Jefferson, Hamilton, Adams, Washington, and all the rest; homebrew whiskey, hangings, riots, tar and featherings, vigilante justice, liberty poles, militias, a citizen uprising inflamed by the eternal tension between individual liberty and government power. If that ain’t enough to pique your interest and stir your soul, you ain’t anything close to what I’d call an American.

Some black lives matter

And some…do not.

On D-Day, everything everyone fought for, white, black, asian, native or hispanic has been overshadowed by the forces of communism using social justice as a cause. The one undeniable fact, if they are bothering to deny it, is that all of the damage done has been done in cities run by communist Democrats. Most of the black lives lost have been lost in communist democrat-run cities by police forces under their control, acting (it would be logical to conclude) under their direction. In Chicago, long run by communists (whether they admit it or not) black lives are cast away by the dozens and there are no protests for those black lives. If black lives truly mattered to these governors and mayors, they would not use them to their political advantage. They allow shootings to go on every day in order to get gun control legislation. They use it as an excuse, but those young black lives are lost and these mayors turn their backs, because they are benefiting politically. These same mayors can’t stand people protesting to feed their families, run their businesses and make a living, but when their communist political allies, Antifa and BLM protest, the mayors protect them, let them out of jail as soon as they are arrested, the police are told to stand down. If the people want control of their cities, they have to start by ridding themselves of the communists in city, state and county governments.

We are not witnessing a racial revolution, that is a lie being told by communists in both the Antifa and BLM leadership to present their opposition as racists, but there is nothing racist about hating communists or communism, that is the duty of every human being who does not want to be ruled by a dictator, forced to live under conditions of the pandemic lockdown forever. The deception is to ask if black lives matter, which, of course they do. Black lives were lost in all of our wars, all the way back to the Revolutionary war, more black lives have been lost in some wars than others, but black lives have mattered throughout the history of this nation. There are black lives that have mattered to the economy of the nation, entrepreneurs who revolutionized business. There are major corporations in the hands of black lives that matter. In order to be faithful to truth and history, it must be recognized that the celebration of freedom is to celebrate black lives honorably and courageously employed in maintaining that freedom and trying to overthrow that nation is to disrespect those black lives. But Black Lives Matter is a political organization not a term, not a recognition, not an understanding so to agree that black lives matter is not to agree with Black Lives Matter.

It is not enough to recognize that black lives matter. Most will happily agree that black lives pursuing the American dream, agreeable to the Constitution and Bill of Rights, patriotic to the idea of freedom and the republic matter more than black lives pursuing communism, who are antagonistic to the ideal of freedom and individual rights, seeking a dictatorial government in the false belief that they will be in charge of it.

I feel sorry for those who have had their heritage co-opted by an aggressive political organization (BLM), feeling bullied into going along with the communists thinking that they are standing up for racial equality. It is a difficult distinction for many of them to make. The pride they feel when seeing images of people like Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King, Jr, Jesse Owens, the Tuskegee Airmen and others is rightfully theirs and it is not for Black Lives Matter, the organization, to co-opt those images and put them to work for their cause of communism, a cause most of those individuals would not support.

And yet that is precisely what they’ve done—brazenly, audaciously, unconscionably—just one among an endless and ever-growing litany of despicable Leftist crimes.

Getting woke to the Left

Jim Hoft posts some sobering scenes from the aftermath of the Left unchained.

For the past week the left has been protesting, rioting, looting, shooting officers, beating innocents, torching national landmarks across the United States.

This is the fruit of the American left: pain, chaos, suffering, violence, fear and arson.

Indeed it is. But if the past week’s irrational and opportunistic anarchy results in a long-overdue awakening to the Left’s true nature as the ruthless enemy of all that is good, decent, and reasonable in America, then it may yet prove to be worth it. Hoft’s third entry puts it straight: “This isn’t a protest, this isn’t solving any injustice, this is the result of leftist media and celebrities encouraging divisive racism and violence to hurt the country and thus Trump.” Bingo, nailed it in one.

But let’s not forget to include the full-throated endorsement and assistance of Democrat-Socialist Party elected officials at all levels across the nation, too. The bottom line is that when it comes to Leftist hatred, wanton destruction, and evil, All Are One.
