The Federal Government Is Our Enemy: Meme Maker Doug Mackey Found Guilty of Conspiracy Against Rights

We knew politicians and bureaucrats in the Justice Department couldn’t take a joke, but now we know they’re willing to prosecute people over it.

Political meme-maker Douglass Mackey, known on Twitter as “Ricky Vaughn,” has been convicted for election interference in federal court. According to the Justice Department’s press release:

Douglass Mackey, also known as “Ricky Vaughn,” was convicted today by a federal jury in Brooklyn of the charge of Conspiracy Against Rights stemming from his scheme to deprive individuals of their constitutional right to vote. The verdict followed a one-week trial before United States District Judge Ann M. Donnelly. When sentenced, Mackey faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Mackey had Tweeted memes calling for voters to text “Hillary” to a number on their cell phone instead of voting in person or by mail. Any reasonable person would see this as an unambiguous joke; anyone stupid enough to think they could vote in a presidential election by text clearly doesn’t hold their vote in a high enough regard to verify before acting.

According to The Post Millennial:

The Department of Justice alleged that this constituted election interference, despite being unable to provide evidence that anyone was deceived by the meme. Mackey argued that he was simply trying to create a viral meme, and that other Clinton supporters had posted similar memes encouraging Trump supporters to vote by text without consequence.

“This wasn’t about changing votes. This was about vaporizing votes, making them disappear,” said Assistant US Attorney Turner Buford. “The number was real and set up to receive incoming messages. The release of these fake campaign ads was timed to flood the internet before Election Day.”

Mackey posted the memes on November 1, a week before the election, and Frisch said that the meme’s message was “ludicrous to anyone with a basic knowledge of how presidential elections work,” the New York Daily Mail reported.

10 years in prison. For making memes.

Yes, the federal government and their handlers in the Deep State are our enemies. This conviction is trying to send a message of intimidation and lunacy. They’re trying to act like they’re crazy enough to do anything because apparently they are.

As Rucker already knows, “crazy” doesn’t even begin to meet the case; although it’s certainly part of the problem, there’s much more to this than mere batshit lunacy can explain. In addition to and perhaps much worse than that, our Überstadt Masters are also ruthless, bereft of either shame or compassion, and wholly evil.

Eyrie up

Okay, got the Friday Substack post up—The madness of crowds, a discussion of MTG’s brave but foolhardy call for a mass demonstration in NYC to protest Trump’s indictment. Excerpt:

Any appeal for relief from oppression made to the agency of said oppression is a mug’s game. None but a fool could seriously hope that a demonstrably broken government might be able to FIX a broken government, or is even interested in attempting to. For them, it’s working exactly as it should.

I devoutly wish I could applaud MTG for her bold call to confront the voracious Beast in its very lair and demand that it not devour one of our own, but…well, frankly, I just can’t do it. Any of us who might actually be considering joining her in this reckless, doomed venture chances being eaten alive. It’s like handing over all your money to a notorious thief and asking him to keep it safe for you; when you go back for it, you can’t be shocked or angry to learn that he’s spent it all.

MTG should consult with the inmates of DC’s J6 gulag and find out just how well exercising their right to peacefully petition THIS government for redress of grievances worked out for them, before she hares off to NYC for an encore performance. As if the current illegitimate junta gives a tinker’s damn about what SHE thinks her “rights” ought to be, versus the radically expurgated version of them she actually enjoys.

No, there is but one way out of this now, and that dark road does NOT pass through any more “peaceful protests.”

TRUMPGASM!

After furiously auto-diddling themselves for six frustrating years with no relief, the Leftard cat-ladies and girly-men have finally achieved one, and the pleasure is so intense they’re positively giddy from it.

Did They Light Up a Cigarette Afterward?
The New York Times enjoyed its long-delayed tantric Trumpgasm so much today that it rolled out the full-page banner headline format usually reserved for the commencement of world wars. (They took the banner down before seven o’clock this morning.) For many of the cat-ladies employed as “reporters” at the once-august paper, it was the first Trumpgasm they’ve ever experienced in a lifetime of emotional displacement, over-eating, and furious knitting of pink polyester hats for the crusade to root out patriarchal wickedness.

This fulfillment of a years-long psychodrama, starring the feared and loathed occult persona of a gold-coiffed “Daddy” figure who once presided in the political household, came at the hands of dragon-slayer Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, archetype of the many long-oppressed victims worked to death in the bilges of our slave ship of state — now turned righteous Woke deliverer of cosmic vengeance!

This oh-so-satisfying climax, of course, is brought to you by the party of hoaxes, flimflams, and mandated death shots, so it’s amusing here on the sidelines to see The Times’s op-ed writers squirm with post-coital pleasure underneath the full-page Trumpgasmic headline. The lead editorial declares: “Even Donald Trump Should Be Held Accountable”— overlooking the utter absence of accountability that has been the norm in every recent insult to the nation’s dignity from wholesale and repeat election fraud, to six years of lawless depravity in the FBI, to overt support of Antifa and BLM street havoc, to the forced, deceitful administration of deadly “vaccines.”

Such pleasure! Such passion! Such carnal bliss! Imagine how hard they’ll get off from watching the eventual Trump perp-walk and incarceration on live TeeWee. Why, it’s ever so much better than the erotic frisson they get from enabling pedophile “transgender” degenerates to proselytize and recruit the children of Normal Americans in defiance of the express wishes of their hapless, helpless parents! As sweetly satisfying, as deeply thrilling as that surely was, Drag Queen Story Hour for eight-year-olds simply could never hold a candle to this!

Oh god oh god oh god, harder, faster, deeper oh pleasepleasepleeeeaaase don’t ever stop!!!*

Heh. What a classic old vid, no? Plenty of folks don’t know it, but Offspring frontman Dexter Holland’s genius is by no means limited to the field of music: among several other interesting achievements, he also holds a PhD in molecular biology from USC, no shit.

Be that little digression as it may, let’s not short-dick another thrill-producing aspect to this development for these hedonistic Leftwit pleasure-seekers: the destruction of the long-moribund Republic, and its final descent into for-real Banana Republic-dom.

End of the Republic

Is the title of this piece apocalyptic hyperbole? I wish it were. But everyone in the country and most of the people in the wide world know that Donald Trump has not actually been indicted for the crime of giving hush money to a prostitute. He has been indicted for the crime of opposing the Leftist elites and challenging their control over the political system. For the first time in American history, a politician – indeed, a front-running presidential candidate – has been indicted in order to destroy his political chances. Americans used to take pride in the fact that such things didn’t happen in the United States of America. But that United States of America is over.

Donald Trump has been indicted on the thinnest of charges. House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan, House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer, and House Administration Committee chairman Bryan Steil recently wrote a letter to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, the destroyer of the republic, pointing out that “even the Washington Post quoted ‘legal experts’ as calling your actions ‘unusual’ because ‘prosecutors have repeatedly examined the long-established details but decided not to pursue charges.’”

Even the New York Times on March 9, in an article about how criminal charges were pending against Trump, that “hush money is not inherently illegal.” Working hard to justify the looming pseudo-legal banana republic action of arresting the sitting president’s principal opponent, the Times suggested that “the prosecutors could argue that the $130,000 payout effectively became an improper donation to Mr. Trump’s campaign, under the theory that because the money silenced Ms. Daniels, it benefited his candidacy.” So the whole thing rests on a novel legal theory. Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA tweeted: “Alvin Bragg lowered 52% of criminal charges in NYC last year to misdemeanors. He just bent over backwards legally to raise the charges against Trump to a felony. WITCH HUNT!!”

That it certainly is, and worse. Former TV and radio host John Cardillo warned: “Don’t downplay the severity of this indictment. There’s still another GJ in NYC, one in GA, and a federal one connected to the Special Counsel investigation. We are watching the political weaponization of our entire criminal justice system. This is a constitutional crisis.”

Much more is coming. Many are saying that the indictment hands Trump the election of 2024, but it’s actually designed to do just the opposite, and the designers are not stupid people. The objective is to prevent Trump from being able to run in 2024, or failing that, to make it impossible for him to win. The average American still has unreflective confidence in our institutions, and will assume from the very fact of Bragg’s indictment, and the others that are certain to come, that Trump must be some kind of criminal. The flimsiness of the cases won’t matter. The public perception will be formed, and that could be enough in himself to make sure that Trump doesn’t return to the Oval Office on Jan. 20, 2025.

Then if all this legal harassment somehow fails, there is still the ballot harvesting, mail-in ballots, and all the rest of the new system that has been carefully put into place and will ensure that neither Trump nor any other dissenter from the Left’s agenda will have a chance to win in 2024.

America’s descent to banana republic status has now been confirmed, but it has been coming on for a very long time. Old Joe Biden signaled it on Sept. 1, 2022, in his infamous red-and-black speech, when he declared: “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.” For the first time in the history of the United States, a sitting president, such as he is, declared that his principal opponent and his opponent’s supporters were criminals who were outside the bounds of acceptable political discourse. Now the ruling Leftists elites have taken the next step in indicting Trump. After that will come various measures to treat his supporters as if they were terrorists.

This is a dark day for the United States.

Indeed it is. And so much the better for any Trump-horny shitlib. What’s not to like here for such “people,” prithee tell? It’s all deliciously tantalizing grist for the America-hater lust-mill. No wonder they’re all springing a stiffy and splooging in their Underoos over this. I’ll let my old chum and hard-rockin’ colleague Mike Ness have the last word.

For those who might not know already, Ness is a dyed-in-the-wool Leftist his own self, of course. What the hell, he’s a punk-rock musician and celebrity, born and raised in Lost Wangeles, so what else would one expect? I still like the guy; he was always really good to me, despite our glaring political differences.

NOTE: I had originally written this intending it to be today’s Eyrie post, but since Substack doesn’t allow video embeds for some reason, I brought it over here instead. So now I gotta scramble around and find something to write about over there, since IMHO the video embeds sorta pull the whole thing together and make it sing, so to speak.

*Why yes, as a matter of fact I DID write pR0n for a living for a brief spell back when I was in NYC, why do you ask? I make no apology for that; don’t hate me ‘cause I’m beautiful, but as my friend Chris Pfouts pointed out when he first hooked me up with the job, almost all of the Great American Writers from the 20th century on did the same at some point, right up to and including Hemingway and Fitzgerald themselves. Being nothing anywhere near their league, I figured I wasn’t above resorting to erotic fiction for pay myself, if that’s what New York would require of me in order to keep body and soul together.

So there.

I feel like a WOMAN/MAN/BOTH/NEITHER/OTHER

It’s a simple, easy binary choice, strictly a One From Column A, One From Column B Type of deal. No others available, sorry.

Trans activism is sexist and delusional (By Jordan Peterson)
By denying science, the medical profession is committing some of the worst moral crimes in modern times. It must end.

What is a woman?

A defining question of our times, and the title of a now infamous documentary indicating the breadth of the political chasm dividing us here in the West.

Here is an answer, summarising current scientific understanding and coming from a research psychologist and clinician.

Let’s start with the basics. Sexual differentiation, on the biological front – where the whole woman/man dichotomy originates, after all – happened two billion years in the past, long before nervous systems developed a mere 600 million years ago. The brute fact of sexual dichotomy was already a constant before even the basics of our perceptual, motivational, emotional and cognitive systems made their appearance on the cosmic stage. Thus, it could be argued that sexual differentiation is more ‘real’ than even ‘up’ or ‘down’, ‘forward’ or ‘back’– more so than pain or pleasure – and, as well, that its perception (given the necessity of that perception to successful reproduction) is key to the successful propagation of life itself.

The fact that such perception and sex-linked action was possible even before nervous systems themselves evolved should provide proof to anyone willing to think that the sexual binary is both fundamental objective fact and primary psychological axiom.

There’s more: sexual differentiation is observable at every level of biological function. Sperm and egg are sexually differentiated; the 40 trillion cells that make up the human body each have a nucleus containing 23 paired chromosomes. Every single cell (with some minor exceptions) in a woman is female, and every single cell in a man male.

Physiological differences between the sexes, in addition to those that obtain at the cellular level, are manifold. Human males and females differ, on average, in hormonal function, brain organisation, height, weight, strength, endurance, facial features and patterns of bodily hair, to take some obvious examples. But the differences are not limited to the physical. Men and women differ enough in temperament so that they can be distinguished with about 75% accuracy on that basis alone. If differences in interest are taken into account, that distinction becomes even more accurate. Such temperamental and interest differences are also larger, not smaller, in more gender-neutral societies, a strong indication of their biological basis.

The claim of the so-called “progressives”, however, is that feelings alone are sufficient to define personhood. This claim is simultaneously ignorant, preposterous and malevolent. Even if biology was ignored entirely, identity is not and cannot be deemed merely subjective – not least because the environment to which each individual must adapt is social, as well as natural, and not solipsistic. This means that every person must, by the very nature of being human, adopt a way of being that he or she cannot entirely choose. The blatant fact of the existence of others and the brute realities of the objective natural world require careful adaptation: the careful negotiation of identity.

…Enough truly is enough – and there has already been plenty more than enough.

There’s a lot between my ellipses—by which I mean, a LOT—but it’s important stuff. Which is truly sad, that we’ve allowed ourselves to sink so low, or more correctly to be dragged, that obvious reality has now become the stuff of debate and discord. The cost? We are now on the fourth (4th) murder of innocent schoolkids by some deranged, murderous “transgender” lunatic. How many more such will be tolerated before saner sorts will finally rise up and say, pace Peterson, ENOUGH ALREADY?!? Bayou Pete says:

I think we owe Dr. Peterson a debt of thanks for daring to speak out against the politically correct perspectives surrounding “trans activism”, and laying out the factual, biological, medical truth of the matter. I strongly suggest that you pass on the link to this article, and/or the link to the full version (provided above), to your friends and relatives. We need to make sure that the truth is heard.

Dittos from here. But honestly, how sad is it that we’ve slid so far down this slipperiest of all slopes to land at a nadir of declination and depravity wherein even the most fundamental, perspicuous, and patently incontrovertible of truths must now be carefully disseminated instead of just openly acknowledged right from the git-go? At long last, how much of this utter shitwit imbecility will finally prove to be too much?

Or is this pit truly bottomless?

Would that it were so

Incredible as it seems now, there was a day long ago when David Letterman was actually funny.

I like numbers 7, 8, and 9 best, personally. We coulda done a lot worse than a President Knievel. And, y’know, have.

Trump indicted after Manhattan DA probe for hush money payments
The charges against Trump relate to payments made to Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted as part of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s years-long investigation, possibly for hush money payments.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has been investigating Trump for hush money payments made leading up to the 2016 presidential election.

These include the $130,000 payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, and the $150,000 payment made to former Playboy model Karen McDougal, Fox News Digital has learned.

Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York opted out of charging Trump related to the Stormy Daniels payment in 2019, even as Cohen implicated him as part of his plea deal. The Federal Election Commission also tossed its investigation into the matter in 2021.

Trump reacted to his indictment, slamming Bragg for his “obsession” with trying to “get Trump,” while warning the move to charge a former president of the United States will “backfire.”

Thou fool. Wanna bet?

Trump, earlier this month, cited reports, which were based on what he called “illegal leaks,” that suggested he could be arrested on Tuesday, March 21. Trump posted about those reports on his TRUTH Social, leading the House Judiciary Committee to intervene, demanding Bragg testify before the panel.

Republican lawmakers and allies of Trump blasted the investigation as a political prosecution and a “weaponization” of the office of the district attorney.

Which, of course, is exactly what it is. And it won’t matter a damned bit, not even slightly. In any totalitarian dictatorship, being right is NOT conducive to happiness, longevity, and prosperity. Quite the opposite, actually.

Last week, Robert Costello, a former legal advisor to Michael Cohen, testified before the grand jury last Monday that Cohen was a “serial liar,” and testified that Trump did not know about the payments made by Cohen to Daniels.

Bragg then canceled grand jury proceedings related to the Trump probe on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sources, at the time, told Fox News Digital that there was “major dissension” within the district attorney’s office. One source claimed the district attorney is having trouble convincing the grand jury on potential charges due to the “weakness” of the case.

Uh huh. And yet.

Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 through his own company and was later reimbursed by Trump’s company, which logged the payments as “legal expenses.” McDougal received $150,000 through the publisher of the supermarket tabloid the National Enquirer.

The Trump Organization “grossed up” Cohen’s reimbursement for Daniels’ payment for “tax purposes,” according to federal prosecutors who filed the 2018 criminal charges against Cohen for the payments.

Trump has repeatedly denied wrongdoing with regard to the payments made to Daniels and McDougal, and has repeatedly said the payments were “not a campaign violation,” but rather a “simple private transaction.”

“I recently became aware that certain news outlets are alleging that I had a sexual and/or romantic affair with Donald Trump many, many, many years ago. I am stating with complete clarity that this is absolutely false,” Daniels wrote. “My involvement with Donald Trump was limited to a few public appearances and nothing more.”

Daniels wrote in the letter that when she met Trump, he was “gracious, professional and a complete gentleman to me and EVERYONE in my presence.”

“Rumors that I have received hush money from Donald Trump are completely false,” the letter read. “If indeed I did have a relationship with Donald Trump, trust me, you wouldn’t be reading about it in the news, you would be reading about it in my book. But the fact of the matter is, these stories are not true.”

But in March 2018, Daniels changed her story. During an interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” Daniels claimed she had a one-time, unprotected sexual encounter with Trump.

I’m sure his future cellmate will be happy to hear alllll about it. Free advice to Trump Jr: Watch your ass, son, the Power will be setting its sights on you next.

Update! DeSantis smacks ‘em down, and hard.

DeSantis Fires Back At Manhattan D.A. Over Trump Indictment

“The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head,” DeSantis said in a statement. “It is un-American. The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct. Yet, now he is stretching the law to target a political opponent.”

“Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda,” DeSantis added.

Good on ya, Gov. The people that don’t much care for or trust DeSantis—which, as y’all know already, I am NOT among ’em—will remain unmoved by this, I imagine, and that’s fine. Far as I’m concerned, though, DeSantis owes Trump not one damned thing, particularly after Trump’s recent foolhardy cooperation with the Vichy GOPers and other conniving swine who have all too successfully tried to drive a wedge between the two men so as to effectively defang both at once.

Nonetheless, I am happy to see this, especially the bit where Da Guv explicitly refuses to play along with the Soros criminal conspiracy by just lying supinely back and yielding up Trump into their filthy hands. Better yet if he’d tossed the FBI out of his State on their sorry asses prior to the bogus Mar A Lago raid, natch, but I can also see how that might have been too far a leap for any career-minded politician with a careful eye on his own polling and future prospects, even Ron The Great, to make.

Such actions are going to have to be taken soon enough, certainly, but HOW soon really amounts to a judgment call, if only in purely practical terms. So while I don’t necessarily agree with the decision, I can understand DeSantis’s reticence at the time and under the circumstances.

The time is nigh upon us when that final fuse that blows the whole powderkeg sky-high will be lit, no doubt about it. Even so, it speaks well of Ron DeSantis that he was sober and level-headed enough to not let himself be stampeded into striking the match prematurely, by anybody. Sour, pipsqueak-nobody bloggers like me can afford to be reckless, and loudly so, about such matters. People in DeSantis’s position, with actual lives at stake, really can’t. I get that, truly I do.

Schismatic update! Bill is skeptical.

It all boils down to what “not assist” means.

At any rate, it appears that DeSantis cannot actually block the extradition from being carried out, but it would take a federal court order to make it happen, I think.

I included Bill’s supporting link, for the obvious reason. Should DeSantis follow through on it—which may not be necessary anyway, given Trump’s previous declaration that he would surrender himself peaceably to the malificent “proper authorities”—it will mark the official filing of suit for national divorce, a step from which there’ll be no walking back. We’ll find out soon enough, I reckon.

No, it does NOT take a village

Just another brilliant, insightful piece from the incomparable Dan Greenfield.

Whose Children? Our Children
“Our children or the children of the state?”

“We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents,” MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry argued. “Educators love their students and know better than anyone what they need to learn and to thrive,” the NEA asserted. “Parents claim they have the right to shape their kids’ school curriculum. They don’t,” a Washington Post op-ed bluntly asserted.

A Minnesota bill now proposes to take children away from parents who don’t agree to have them sexually mutilated. Similar bills are working their way through other states.

Behind all the identity politics, the graphic sexual materials in classrooms, the covert gender swaps by public school administrators, critical race theory, drag shows and so much else is a showdown between the family and the state. It’s not a new confrontation, but teenage puberty blockers, suicides, sex and racism manuals have made the stakes painfully clear.

At the heart of sexual identity politics is an obsession with dismantling the family. The embrace of transgenderism by the state is no accident of politics. The family, like race and religion, is the chief rival to the state. The state set out to neuter its rivals through identity politics, using race, religion and finally sexuality to define new identities and use them to make the state supreme.

The great struggle between human beings and the state was always going to come down to the question of whether the system or the family would be the central unit of social organization. In a little over a century a question that once seemed as basic to the understanding of humanity as the differences between men and women was muddied. The government took charge of education and demanded oversight of all the nation’s children because the indoctrination of the citizenry was a vital national interest. But so was the existence or non-existence of the children.

The shift from the single-income family to the two-income family with preschool encompassing children as young as 18 months and then to an ever more intensive chain of state educational institutions happened gradually enough that most parents thought it was their own idea. But what the Soviet Union and Communist China had failed to accomplish, happened in America.

Children, from even before they could talk, were being raised either directly by the state or by the institutions that it closely regulated. The unintended consequences of that, emotional fragility, a lack of healthy models for interpersonal relationships, and an obsession with ‘snitching’ on others that persists well into adulthood, were only the collateral damage.

Teachers and administrators in those institutions are pushing sexual identity politics on children as young as two years old not just because it’s a current leftist fad, but because eliminating the family wipes out any competition. The gradual transitional elimination of the family is rapidly picking up speed. Now the plan is to destroy the family by destroying the children.

To try to argue that it just ain’t so, one must first blind oneself to all observable reality, both current and historical. That’s more than mere folly; at root, it amounts to abject cowardice, submission, and ultimately, death.

Weapons of “war”

The hoplophobic, fascist shitlibs don’t have the vaguest clue what they’re prattling about. Not that that’s ever stopped them.

Sen. Kennedy Stumps Mayorkas (Again) Regarding the Definition of ‘Assault Weapons’ He Wants to Ban

Well, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is not having a good week. Earlier this week, he got raked over the coals by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) over the border crisis.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) also got a turn with Mayorkas and, as he’s been known to do, asked the secretary a few simple questions that someone in his position ought to be able to answer.

“Mr. Secretary yesterday you testified in judiciary that you support an assault weapon ban and we didn’t have much time to talk about that. Tell me your definition—once more—of an assault weapon,” the senator asked.

Easy, right? When someone says he wanst to ban assault weapons, it stands to reason that he should know what an assault weapon is. Mayorkas would prove in his responses that he has absolutely no idea.

“I am not an expert, right respect to the definition but of the assault bands. And so I defer to—”

“You are the Secretary of Homeland Security,” Kennedy reminded him, clearly suggesting that he ought to know the answer.

“—as as a I was about to say, I defer to the experts, I defer to, for example, the definition of an assault weapon that was codified in the prior iteration of the legislation that was passed and that was in operation when I served as an assistant United States attorney and the United States Attorney in the Central District.”

“So you would support the prior definition…”

“Senator I must defer to the experts with respect to the definition,” Mayorkas said again, before really stepping in it. “But I will tell you, for example, military—military-style weapons are of tremendous concern. ”

“You personally think we should ban assault weapons, and I know you tobe an intelligent man and a thinking person, so I know you’ve thought about it,” Kennedy responded. “What do you mean by military-style weapon?”

Spoiler alert: Mayorkas didn’t know the definition of “military-style weapon” either.

Naturally, Mayorkas is hardly unique in his stem-to-stern ignorance.

Jamaal Bowman Throws Unhinged Fit Against GOP in Hallway, Thomas Massie Drops a Little Reality on Him

For Democrats, whenever there is a mass shooting, it’s the fault of the gun. If the shooter is someone folks view as someone “one of theirs,” it’s the fault of the gun and the evil intolerant society that somehow must have affected the poor shooter, as we saw in the case of the Nashville shooting.

The answer, of course, is that in every case, whoever the shooter is, it’s the fault of the shooter. A gun is just a tool, that can be used for bad or for good, like a knife, a fork, or virtually anything else. The gun isn’t invested with evil powers to shoot people just because it’s an AR-15 or an AK-47. It just looks scarier to folks on the left who know nothing about guns. We heard crazy things on Tuesday from Democrats like Joe Biden claiming that an “AR-15 bullet” will “blow up inside the body.” Yet, he’s in a position of immense power to affect laws and is issuing executive orders from on high when it comes to guns.

But I think the award for the unhinged take of Wednesday has to go to Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), a radical Squad member, who just started screaming in the public hallway, falsely blaming Republicans for school shootings. To him, “doing something” means more gun control. Yet he never seems to explain how if virtually every school is “gun-free” why there are mass shootings in schools. So instead of talking about real solutions with Republicans, he throws a fit in the hallway for the cameras and calls the GOP “cowards.” No, sir, cowards are those who shout down anyone who thinks differently than you and who are afraid to deal with the real issues. But Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) stops, tries to calm him down, and gets him to talk. He does manage to lay a little reality on him.

Massie told him that schools don’t allow teachers to carry. That caused Bowman to lose his mind, screaming, “More guns equals more death.” Notice how Bowman was shouting and not listening to what Massie was saying.

Yep, just your typical, Mk 1-Mod 0 shitlib arrogance in ignorance. As for civilian vs military arms, here’s another little tidbit of information the Leftards will blithely go to their graves in total blank ignorance of (via Herschel—thanks!).

Original ATF AR-15 Classification Refutes Claim that Rifle ‘Not Meant’ for Civilians

U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “This responds to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request…concerning the following: 1. All classification letters (or if classification letters were named in some other way, those records) regarding Model R6000 Colt AR-15 SP1 Sporter Rifle, Serial No. GX4968 which was approved in approximately 1963; and 2. All classification letters…for AR-15 platform rifles predating the submission to the ATF for the Colt AR15 SP1 Sporter Rifle,” Adam C. Siple, Chief Information and Privacy Governance Division, notified attorney Stephen Stamboulieh in a Nov. 22 response (see below). “In response to your request, we have processed a total of 2 pages of responsive material.”

That referenced FOIA request was sent in May on behalf of firearms designer Len Savage and resulted in the production of a Dec. 10, 1963, letter from what was then called Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division to Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company, Inc. This is the first such classification for the AR-15 and has not been published before.

The FOIA request itself was prompted from a Nov. 2017 article in The Atlantic in which the magazine, unsurprisingly to anyone familiar with its anti-gun bent, attempted to bolster a claim that “these rifles were meant for the military, not civilians.”

“Colt sent a pilot model rifle (serial no. GX4968) to the BATF for civilian sale approval on Oct. 23, 1963. It was approved on Dec. 10, 1963, and sales of the ‘Model R6000 Colt AR-15 SP1 Sporter Rifle’ began on Jan 2, 1964,” one critic of the article contended. “The M16 wasn’t issued to infantry units until 1965 (as the XM16E1), wasn’t standardized as the M16A1 until 1967, and didn’t officially replace the M14 until 1969.”

So, they were being sold to civilians first?

Apparently so, yes. But don’t let’s anybody be holding their breath waiting for the lying liars of the Lyin’ Left to abandon their screeching about “MILITARY-STYLE FULLY-SEMI-AUTOMATIC ASSAULTWEAPONGUNS OF WAAAAAR!!!” They won’t even tone it down a notch out of a half-decent sense of shame, count on it.

Never, ever forget: on any given topic or issue, it’s never really about what they say it’s about. They care not a fig for addressing a problem, resolving an issue, saving a life, or their perennial fave “TEH CHILDREN!” No, it is all about the same thing it always and forever is: power, and control. Period fucking dot.

To call them “pond scum” would be a gratuitous insult to the relatively innocuous slick of slimy green goo that floats atop a pond.

Update! Via WRSA, an excellent Stefan Molyneux quote.

If you are for gun control, then you are not against guns, because the guns will be needed to disarm people. So it’s not that you are anti-gun. You’ll need the police’s guns to take away other people’s guns. So you’re very Pro-Gun, you just believe that only the Government (which is, of course, so reliable, honest, moral and virtuous…) should be allowed to have guns. There is no such thing as gun control. There is only centralizing gun ownership in the hands of a small, political elite and their minions.

Says it all, don’t it?

Back to the future

My brother-in-Gearheaddom Phil speaks for a cause that’s always been near and dear to my heart.

It’s Time To Start Restoring Older Vehicles And Appliances

Lurch came out and said that FJB is going to be mandating changes to cars and both light and heavy trucks because Climate Bullshit.

This is on top of them already going after gas stoves and now air conditioners.

Every time the government sticks it’s collective nose into consumer goods everything turns to absolute shit.

Anybody else out there remember what a real toilet looked like before CONgress decided they used too much water?

And remember when the dirty cocksuckers banned conventional lightbulbs last year?

Basically if something has a proven track record and works, we can’t have that anymore.

Screw these assholes I say.

If you can find a decent rig from fifty odd years ago, spending half that much restoring it will get you a rig that will last for years and you will be money ahead.

Even if you have to get it from another state and have it trucked in you will be money ahead.

There won’t be a kill switch in it either.

Same goes with refrigerators and laundry machines.

There are guys out there who specialize in restoring old refrigerators and there are still plenty of outfits around that can repair old laundry equipment.

Screw these new computer controlled/ energy and water efficient pieces of shit.

They don’t work worth a damn to begin with and they have a life span measured in months, not years anyway.

Now, speaking of cars specifically, it’s true that the newer ones—though most of them cost two-three times as much as my dad paid for the house I grew up in (19k back in 1962, and it was a nice house too, in a good neighborhood)—they DO have an expected life span of around 200-300k miles before they go kerblooey. Then again, though, you didn’t need a PhD in computer science, two large rollaways full of expensive specialty tools, and a 150k diagnostic machine to work on one of the vintage beater Fords I’ve spent my entire “adult” (HA!) life running, either.

That said, owning the right kind of car can pay off in some unanticipated ways.

Two teens who carjacked a man at a gas station in Germantown, Maryland were unable to drive away because they didn’t know how to operate the car’s manual transmission, police say.

A 16-year-old from Rockville and a 17-year-old from Washington, D.C. were arrested after the carjacking on Saturday at the Sunoco gas station on Frederick Road, Montgomery County police said.

A man had just finished pumping gas and was getting into his car when he saw the two teens running toward him, police said. The teens then forced his door open, grabbed him and demanded his keys, which he handed over to them.

When the teens got into the car, they didn’t know how to operate the car’s manual transmission, police said, so they got out of the car and ran off.

Soon after, officers saw them nearby and took them into custody after a brief chase on foot, police said.

The accompanying video is sidesplitting.

No need to be thinking that this is the only such incident, either.

“Can you even drive a fuckin’ stick, nigga? On my MAMA, I wantin’ to shoot that nigga so bad!” Too, too funny. Clicking on the Tweet will take you over to my own barely-used Twatter account, then you’ll have to dismiss the “Sensitive content” warning to view it. Which, believe me, is worth the hassle.

How the legislative sausage is made.

‘Garbage’: Jesse Watters Asks Sen. Lindsey Graham If He Actually ‘Read’ A Key Bill He Co-Sponsored

Fox News host Jesse Watters grilled Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina about his co-sponsorship of the RESTRICT Act Wednesday, asking if the senator read the bill he co-sponsored.

“Did the United States Senate just say we are going to protect you from China by spying on you? Let’s try to get some answers out of Sen. Lindsey Graham who supports this and is here now,” Watters said just prior to Graham appearing on the show. “You have got to be kidding me, Senator. Did you read this?”

The White House announced it would support the Restricting the Emergence of Security Threats that Risk Information and Communications Technology (RESTRICT) Act, which targets technology from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, China and Venezuela on March 7, NBC News reported. The legislation does not explicitly name TikTok, but senators supporting the legislation have cited the national-security concerns surrounding the Chinese-owned app.

“I don’t think I support the RESTRICT Act,” Graham told Watters.

“You don’t support this?” Watters asked, “Because you were named as one of the supporters, ‘cause this is garbage.”

Graham co-sponsored the RESTRICT Act, S 686, on Monday, according to congress.gov, joining 20 other senators. Many conservatives criticized the legislation over the potential to be used against American citizens.

Well, hey, isn’t that selfsame “potential” the barely-sub rosa intent of ALL legislation in Amerika v2.0?

The words of a prophet

Alexis de Tocqueville, that would be.

The French political philosopher Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859) describes what form of tyranny or despotism would come to America: it would be relatively mild, retain some of the “external forms of liberty”, but the people would behave like timid “animals” and the government would act like their shepherd:

After having thus taken each individual one by one into its powerful hands, and having molded him as it pleases, the sovereign power extends its arms over the entire society; it covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated, minute, and uniform rules, which the most original minds and the most vigorous souls cannot break through to go beyond the crowd; it does not break wills, but it softens them, bends them and directs them; it rarely forces action, but it constantly opposes your acting; it does not destroy, it prevents birth; it does not tyrannize, it hinders, it represses, it enervates, it extinguishes, it stupifies, and finally it reduces each nation to being nothing more than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd.

I have always believed that this sort of servitude, regulated, mild and peaceful, of which I have just done the portrait, could be combined better than we imagine with some of the external forms of liberty, and that it would not be impossible for it to be established in the very shadow of the sovereignty of the people.

In a number of quotations we have looked at writers who have likened the people to sheep who are protected by the shepherd or “state” in order to better shear them of their fleece or slaughter them for meat. John Milton was quite clear on this analogy and stressed the importance for the state of creating “sheep-like minds” in the heads of the people. Alexis de Tocqueville can be added to this list. In the longer version of the quotation he talks about the importance of “agitation” and “crisis” in creating the precondition for the expansion of state power; that in democratic America the state will create a new form of tyranny, being part despotism, part “tutorship”, and part “paternalism” of the people; that various external forms of liberty will remain but the sheer number of “uniform rules” will reduce the people to a timid and sheep-like status with the state acting like the national shepherd.

Sounds chillingly familiar, don’t it?

Bizarro world prognosis

Peters asks the pertinent question.

Does Anyone See It?

Mentally ill people are inclined to do mentally ill things. Like shoot up a school. But we are not allowed to point out the former thing, because it is a politically incorrect thing to identify a boy who thinks he is a girl (and vice-versa) as…mentally ill.

And yet, that is precisely what such a person is. Unless one takes the position that fantasy is the same as reality, in which case why not endorse the fantasy of a 60-year-old man who insists he is a teenage girl and let him date teenage boys? On what basis would an objection to this be made, if one has no objection to a boy insisting he is a girl and must be allowed to enter the girls’ bathroom, as he is in fact a “girl” himself?

This is, of course, insane.

But one cannot fault the insane. Indeed, the law is indulgent toward them and with justice because an insane person is a person who does not appreciate that he is insane. From his—insane—point-of-view, it is the rest of the world that’s off-kilter. Not him.

The real crisis we have, then, is not one of insanity. It is the encouraging of it, which assures there will be more of it.

Bold mine, and that’s all anybody needs to say about that. But don’t let’s anybody be thinking that this all just came at us out of the blue nowhere, some kind of cosmic coinkydink. Ain’t no such thing.

This began in a mass psychosis kind-of-way with the normalizing of pathological hypochondria and its symptoms, including the wearing of odd garments and the performing of strange rituals. People were egged-on to regard these expressions of mental illness as normal—as opposed to in need of therapy. Indeed, those who counseled sanity were showered with opprobrium for hewing to facts, objective reality—to sanity.

Just as the same opprobrium is heaped upon the sane who refuse to concede the insane as regards the supposed fungibility of sex, that a boy can “transition” to a girl (and vice-versa) and that it actually is so – in the literally true sense. We are thus expected to not merely pretend but to accept as true that a boy who insists he is a girl is one and that if we say he isn’t, then we are cruel and “hateful” people in need of…therapy.

“Accept,” my rosy asscheeks. We’re not only supposed to accept it, but required to actively celebrate it, to act as if the demented are in fact somehow superior—to be neither censured nor pitied, but praised for their infirmity. The end result of this standing of all good sense and rationality on its head is entirely predictable, of course.

Is it any wonder people are going insane? That it feels society is, too?

This girl who shot up the school might not have, had she received the help she obviously, badly needed. Instead she was encouraged to think of herself as a “he”—and got worse rather than better, for the same reason that Crazy Uncle Bill up in the attic who thinks he’s Napoleon isn’t going to get better by addressing him as Your Majesty.

As a society, we once understood this. People with mental problems were treated—or at least, it was understood they needed it. This latter being the most important point, for their sake as well as ours. Having mentally ill people on the loose is bad news. It is something far worse when it is presented as good news – and something to want to see more of.

And that’s the bleakest, most horrid aspect of the thing: we assuredly will see more of it, lots more, unless and until enough of us stiffen our resolve to deal once and for all with the epidemic of Woke “liberalism” that created this whole situation—to make it clear that we will have no more of our children slaughtered, cities ruined, and public spaces made into No-Go Zones for decent people in the name of advancing a warped political agenda.

Close, no cigar

Well dammit, now even the highly esteemed Mike Walsh is missing the essential point. Or so I think, at least. YMMV, as always.

Ron DeSantis has made his first unforced error in his nascent, as yet still-unannounced, campaign for the Republican presidential nomination 2024. Even worse, he showed weakness – and that, in this late-Roman Republic political climate, is an unforgiveable sin. If DeSantis is not to be bullied out of the primaries by the raging bull elephant that is Donald Trump, he needs to do better, asap.

Not just no, but oh HELL no. Wait one while I get the turntable spun up for my broken record: RON DESANTIS NEEDS TO STAY WHERE THE HELL HE’S AT.

To hell with national (notional) “elections,” to hell with running for Prez-Mo-Dent, to hell with all that. If we should’ve gleaned but one hard fact by now from observing the whole “pResident” Biden clown show of a dumpster fire of a shit-circus as it crashes and burns before the eyes of the entire world, it’s that it no longer means one damned thing who might be roosting behind the Resolute Desk and posing for press photo-ops out on the White House lawn. The people who really run the federal goobermint don’t come up for election and/or reelection, don’t pose for pictures, and above all don’t care one whit about being responsive to the Will of Duh Peepul.

If DeSantis doesn’t know this full well, then he’s nowhere near as smart as I thought he was. I note yet again that as of right now, he STILL hasn’t said a damned word about running in 2024, other than that he ain’t gonna. I hope and pray it stays that way, and that he holds to it. If he does decide to run, it will tell us all about him we’ll ever need to know. This might not bode all that well:

Note I said do. Not talk. Talk is Trump’s realm, a world in which only words, not deeds, matter and the rest is just boob bait. The Wall, unbuilt; the Swamp, undrained. The 2020 election stolen right out from underneath him, and by perfectly legal means: they said they were going to do it, they explained how they were going to do it, and they did it. All while Trump was prancing and dancing at pointless rallies. Never mind: things will be better next time, we are told.

Up until last week, action was DeSantis’s realm: taking on Disney, sacking Soros prosecutors, signing a sweeping school-choice bill, firing the board of the leftist New College in Florida and replacing it with sane conservatives not in thrall to the diktats of Wokism; the new board promptly canned its entire, useless “diversity” office. All these events were cheer(ing) moments for a GOP base long starved for victories unbesmirched by Jared, Ivanka, Jeff Sessions, or Stormy Daniels, as well as the promise of further bold, decisive steps to come.

DeSantis was also a rare voice of Republican sanity among the chorus of pro-Ukraine capons in D.C., led by Turtle McChao and Lindsey Graham when he correctly stated that the U.S. has no vital national interest in whatever happens to Vladimir Zelensky and his war-by-photo-op in the historic heart of Russia.

While the U.S. has many vital national interests — securing our borders, addressing the crisis of readiness within our military, achieving energy security and independence, and checking the economic, cultural, and military power of the Chinese Communist Party — becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them. The Biden administration’s virtual ‘blank check’ funding of this conflict for ‘as long as it takes,’ without any defined objectives or accountability, distracts from our country’s most pressing challenges.”

And that’s where he should have stopped. But the media, the warmongering neocons, and Mitch’s minions screamed bloody murder, buffaloing DeSantis into a near-fatal error: in an interview with British professional mediocrity Piers Morgan (someone no American political figure should ever speak with) he backtracked: and by so doing, dug himself deeper and deeper into the media Pit of No Return. Behold the peril of talking (at least as quoted by Morgan):

Writing in The New York Post about the interview, Morgan quoted the Florida governor as saying: “Well, I think it’s been mischaracterised. Obviously, Russia invaded (last year) – that was wrong. They invaded Crimea and took that in 2014 – That was wrong.” The Florida governor, who is laying the groundwork to win the Republican nomination against former president Donald Trump for the 2024 elections, faced a torrent of criticism from Republicans for his remarks.

“What I’m referring to is where the fighting is going on now which is that eastern border region Donbas, and then Crimea, and you have a situation where Russia has had that. I don’t think legitimately but they had,” Mr DeSantis clarified. “There’s a lot of ethnic Russians there. So, that’s some difficult fighting and that’s what I was referring to and so it wasn’t that I thought Russia had a right to that, and so if I should have made that more clear, I could have done it, but I think the larger point is, okay, Russia is not showing the ability to take over Ukraine, to topple the government or certainly to threaten NATO.

“That’s a good thing. I just don’t think that’s a sufficient interest for us to escalate more involvement. I would not want to see American troops involved there. But the idea that I think somehow Russia was justified (in invading) – that’s nonsense,” he said. Mr DeSantis also added that he viewed the Russian president as a “war criminal” who should be held “accountable”. “I think he is a war criminal,” he was quoted as saying.

Mamma mia! As the old political saying goes, when you’re explaining, you’re losing.

Yep—a fact which one would think a man who had given Jurassic Media the back of his hand as deftly and as many times as DeSantis has would be well aware of.

Actually, the only real problem I have with what Morgan says Meatball Ron said above is the very last bit, about Putin being “held accountable.” Maybe so, maybe not, but either way that is NOT within the FUSA’s proper purview. At the risk of sounding like a rock-ribbed isolationist—a position, incidentally, that no lesser a Presidential light than one George Washington explicitly endorsed with the “no foreign entanglements” proposition from his farewell address—we have plenty enough business right here at home to attend to without futzing about overseas in other nations’.

There’s more, but as Walsh’s whole argument is built around the hopefully unfounded assumption that DeSantis will indeed run, I didn’t read it. These days, my only interest in presidential politics is poking fun at the Senile Stumblebum In Thief’s latest tumble down the Air Farce One stairs, and little if anything else.

Which, speaking of.

Yeah, Old Jaux has his palsied hands firmly on the tiller of the Ship of State, doesn’t he? Pfaugh, pish-tosh, stuff and nonsense, I say.

Know thine enemy Part the First

I’m thinking I might start up a recurring “Know Thine Enemy” series like this here. Installment 1, Exhibit A for the prosecution:

KTE 1

It would be easy enough to just dismiss this mindless, hate-crazed freak as just another LARPing Leftard, but don’t do it. Remember what I told y’all the other day about underestimating the enemy? I repeat: Don’t. Do. It.
