Wish in one hand…

I do hope the poor woman isn’t holding her breath.

Attorney Sidney Powell spoke at the For God and Country Rally this Memorial Day Weekend in Dallas, Texas.

During her on-stage discussion, Sidney Powell was asked about what will happen if several states overturn their 2020 presidential election results.

Sidney Powell: We’re definitely in uncharted territory. There are cases where elections have been overturned. But there’s never been one at the presidential level where everybody will jump to point out. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done, though. There’s always the first case. And as far as I know, this is the first case of abject fraud and obtaining a coup of the United States of America. So, it’s going to have to be dealt with. It should be that he can simply be reinstated, that a new inauguration day is set. (cheers) And Biden is told to move out of the White House. And President Trump should be moved back in.

Kinda sad at this point, I must say. The only aspect of this that’s of any real interest to me is that Powell is sporting a biker-style leather vest, which I can only assume is a gesture of solidarity with the Rolling Thunder scooter trash, who have apparently decided to wave a good old-fashioned middle-finger salute at the Deep State douchewads who tried to cancel this year’s Memorial Day run.

The annual Rolling to Remember event is set to be held this weekend in the Nation’s Capital and turnout is expected to be even greater after the  group was denied a permit for a staging area from the Pentagon under President Joe Biden’s leadership.

The highly anticipated event garnered much attention over the last few months after it was reported that the Pentagon had rejected a staging permit for the annual motorcycle event over coronavirus health concerns.

The event, formerly known as Rolling Thunder, is being organized by AMVETS, a veterans group, and is held annually each Memorial Day in Washington, DC. Organizers expect an even greater turnout now because of the attention they received after being denied the permit.

Speaking exclusively to Breitbart News, Joe Chenelly, the national executive director of AMVETS, said that Muriel Bowser, the mayor of the District of Columbia, granted the group permission to stage at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium.

“We’ve built out a very robust plan, great infrastructure, so Sunday morning we will be staging at RFK stadium,” Chenelly said, noting that the event is now “expecting 100,000 bikes.”

Chenelly also said that the Metropolitan Police Department has “been very cooperative” in working with organizers to make sure that safety measures are in effect for the event.

“The Pentagon telling us no and the story that created has actually driven up our expectations of how many people are coming in by quite a bit,” Chenelly added.

Bravo, brother, and a hearty attaboy for defying those junta pricks. By God, this news warms the cockles of my coal-black heart, whatever the hell “cockles” might be. Mike’s Iron Law #187: There’s always a workaround, and true Americans will always be able find it.

It ain’t just here, it ain’t just us

The other night, I said:

My own view, which shifts on the regular these days, is that if the current middling-temperature conflict ever DOES go full-on hot, the form it will most likely take will be sabotage, monkey-wrenchery, and shoot-and-scoot sniper activity, perhaps even scattered small-unit raids undertaken by people with the training and experience to pull it off.

And then this happened.

Hundreds of troops from Belgium, and beyond, have now thoroughly searched a vast area in the country where a fugitive soldier armed with highly dangerous weapons is believed to be hiding. However, no trace of him has been found.

A well-trained sniper from the Belgian army, Jurgen Conings, who has combat experience in several war zones including Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon, disappeared on Monday. Having reportedly left life-threatening notes to several top officials, the 46-year-old man is believed to have taken several anti-tank missiles, a submachine gun and a handgun with an ability to pierce bulletproof vests from his unit’s ammunition depot. He himself is believed to be wearing the vest.

Conings is now a “terrorist suspect,” according to Belgian media. The federal prosecutor’s office has been investigating him for “attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons in a terrorist context,” the VRT broadcaster reported. Authorities also believe the suspect has not been “acting on impulse,” but is rather well-prepared.

Throughout the week, some 400 Belgian troops, from both the army and the police, have been rigorously searching the Hoge Kempen National Park in the Belgian province of Limburg. Helicopters, armored cars and trucks were deployed for the manhunt, while hundreds searched the nature reserve meter by meter equipped with thermal cameras. Forces from Germany and the Netherlands have been mobilized, as the area where Conings is believed to be hiding borders these countries. Dutch special units are also on standby on their side of the border in case the man tries to cross.

A number of mosques in the Limburg province have closed, local media reported, due to the heavily armed man’s known far-right extremist views.

Note the bold. You will be seeing this material again.

Earlier, a car belonging to the suspect was found. The military man, who had also been training other soldiers for foreign missions, has reportedly booby-trapped his vehicle with four rocket launchers inside. A grenade with a set of wires linking it to the car’s doors are said to have been discovered. There have also been reports that Conings left his service medals on his parents’ grave, with sources suggesting he did it on Tuesday.

Looks like “rather well-prepared” might have understated the case a mite.

Conings’ girlfriend, Gwendy, is reported to be the one who alerted the authorities to her partner’s disappearance on Monday. She reportedly discovered several letters left behind, with local media quoting Conings as writing he “could no longer live in a society where politicians and virologists have taken everything away from us,” so he “would join the resistance and would not surrender.”

If being enraged enough by the installation of de facto tyranny to take concrete steps against the “politicians and virologists” who did it—and they most certainly did do it—is now a “right-wing extremist” view, well hey, I’m a-okay with being considered a right-wing extremist mydamnedself.

“It’s a race to the bottom when brutality reigns”

Civilization vs savagery.

A morality that confers “rights” on mobs and strips those of an individual is the morality of savages. Maxine Waters is a savage, but so too are the members of the Minneapolis City Council who agreed to pay George Floyd’s estate $27 million before Chauvin’s trial had begun, the judge who recognized the prejudicial unfairness of Waters’ inflammatory statements but passed the buck for doing anything about it to the appellate courts, and the political, media, and celebrity jackals from Joe Biden on down who’ve been howling for Chauvin’s conviction since Floyd’s death.

The trial for Derek Chauvin and the lack of one for the Capitol Hill policeman (name still unknown) are another reminder—not that any are needed—that savages aren’t fair. It’s pathetic and ludicrous to expect an appellate court to grant Chauvin a new trial, although it would have ample grounds to do so in anything resembling a fair judicial system.

It’s like saying, “Wait until 22 and 24!” or, “Wait until the Arizona vote audit!” after last year’s blatant election theft. The savages have instituted corrupt arrangements that will enshrine their power in perpetuity. Expecting them to tolerate anything that would jeopardize those arrangements is like expecting water to run uphill. Fair or even quasi-fair elections would threaten their power. They are, like fair trials, but a memory.

Savages beget savagery and nothing else, until they are stopped or they stop themselves. Don’t count on them recognizing the production—a civilized and thereby forbidden act—and the producers—civilized and thereby forbidden people—that keep them fed and alive. And don’t count on them not making your weaponry, your last line of defense, a use it or lose it proposition.

They recognize no limits, certainly not the constraints imposed by reality. They may have to lay waste to the world before whomever remains of the honest and productive realize that their lives are a defend them or die proposition. For decades, America’s rulers and their accomplices have said about the enemies of the day: they only understand force. It’s projection, ascribing to others one’s own motivations. They’ve dressed it up in all sorts of verbiage, from Make the World Safe for Democracy to We’re All In This Together, but force is what they understand and to which they’ll always resort. The only thing that will stop them is superior force more competently wielded.

Abandon your mind and life is one big scary mystery. In their perpetual, pervasive fear of everything, savages will always respond to superior force. The civilized are abandoning savage strongholds, seeking refuge in states that still demonstrate a vestigial respect for individual rights, the font of civilization. These aren’t nirvanas of freedom, but they’re better than what’s left behind.

Live and let live are not options for savages; they have to prey on someone. The migrants may find relief in their new locales, but unless they’re prepared to defend them that relief will prove temporary. Having run out of victims at home, the savages will invade, plunder, and destroy any place that maintains a modicum of freedom, production, prosperity, and civilization.

Unless their would-be victims repel them.

Which demands full and frank acknowledgment of one inescapable fact, however unpleasant: the only effective way the savages among us can be repelled is by means of force and violence. Anything else is no more than a float down the river of Denial, idle thumbsuckery and self-deception. No, it ain’t pleasant. But that doesn’t make it any less true.

Your feel-good story of the day

“Hot Topic anarchists.” Gotta love that one.

After being outnumbered, Antifa failed to shut down the weekly right-wing flag event in Oregon City, which neighbors Portland except here law enforcement and the district attorney don’t tolerate rioting.

Antifa groups circulated a flyer online last week calling for comrades to counter protest the weekly flag waving event near Clackamas Community College. “Oregon City is allowing fascists to continue and grow their weekly flag wave, if we don’t put a stop to it, they will command more control!” the flyer urged. Clackamas Community College canceled classes in light of Antifa’s anticipated presence.

Friday, the day of the dueling protest, things seemed anti-climatic as Antifa only managed small numbers and gathered at a shopping center near the college campus then quickly left. Portland-based Antifa accounts on Twitter expressed outrage that not enough appeared to shut down the conservative rally.

Police were on scene Friday to keep the opposing groups separate, but there were no reports of any violence breaking out. “The people you call Antifa,” one of the right-wing protesters told KOIN 6 News, “they have no idea what Portland is. They watched Portlandia and came here. They’re hipsters wearing all black. Hot Topic anarchists,” the 42-year-old said to the local news outlet.

In all, at least 250 conservative demonstrators, some armed, protested at the planned event that seemed to occur without incident despite the hype.

That’s because some were armed, and as Heinlein knew, an armed society is a polite society.

MOAR IDAHO, STAT!!!

A good start? Or much ado about nothing?

Five Oregon counties voted on Tuesday to instruct their county commissioners to promote moving the Oregon border so they can join the state of Idaho. Voters in Malheur, Sherman, Grant, Baker, and Lake counties all approved referendums that would grow the state of Idaho to encompass the 5 rural counties that voted in favor of the referendum along with two others — Jefferson and Union counties — who approved measures last year.

“This election proves that rural Oregon wants out of Oregon. If Oregon really believes in liberal values such as self-determination, the Legislature won’t hold our counties captive against our will,” said Mike McCarter, a conservative activist who heads the Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho group. “If we’re allowed to vote for which government officials we want, we should be allowed to vote for which government we want as well.”

Ace quips:

The left is excited, because they think “this opens the door to URBAN SOVEREIGNTY!!!” — cities detaching themselves from those useless rural areas that produce nothing but food, healthy families, and no crime.

As I always say, t’is a consummation devoutly to be wished. But it ain’t gonna happen, of course.

Actually moving the lines would require a vote from the Oregon legislature, which is firmly controlled by Democrats. Oregon and Idaho would have to strike a formal deal, which would then need to be ratified by the U.S. Congress.

It’d be nice if Real Americans could rid themselves of their urban Leftist antagonists in a peaceable fashion, but it’s increasingly obvious that said parasites will never allow it, leaving just the one option open.

SO—the hard way it is, then.

News you can use

Saying a not at all fond farewell to Government Gas Cans.

From a seller on eBay, I purchased a gas can retrofit/repair kit. These are VERBOTTEN here in Kommiecticut, and are unavailable from retailers like Cheaper Than Dirt. They make you input your zip code to see if they will ship to you, or others will rebrand them as “water spout kits.” For $25 and free shipping, I got five of these kits in a package. I have two complete kits left.

I turned a difficult to use messy gas jug into an easy pour version that has yet to spill a drop.

I’ve done something along similar lines myself, for the low, low price of neither jack nor shit. All’s you gotta do is gut the goobermint “expert”-mandated spout completely, which basically leaves you with a simple, unclogged tube to pour Satan’s Own Go-Juice through as God intended. Failing that, scout around some for one of the older versions that actually work well for the job they’re meant to do.

After that, you just drill, slice, or punch a vent hole into the top of the once-useless container, and VIOLA! You’re back to having a gas can that won’t inspire thoughts of mayhem, murde, and revolution every time you try to use the thing. Problem solved, which one must assume these days is an imprisonable hate crime that will likely land you with a five-to-ten stretch in a different kind of jug altogether.

Thanks to WRSA for hipping me to our latest bookmarks ‘n’ Blogrolle add. And welcome aboard, Glypto.

UNEXPECTED!

In contrast with the article mentioned in my previous post, here’s a REAL shocker.

The Supreme Court unanimously rejected Biden administration arguments in a case from Rhode Island that police should be allowed to enter homes without a warrant to seize handguns.

The ruling in the case, Caniglia v. Strom, court file 20-157, came May 17.

Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President of Gun Owners of America and the affiliated Gun Owners Foundation, praised the new decision.

“The Supreme Court today smacked down the hopes of gun grabbers across the nation,” Pratt said.

“The Michael Bloombergs of the world would have loved to see the Supreme Court grant police the authority to confiscate firearms without a warrant. But the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the Fourth Amendment protections in the Bill of Rights protect gun owners from such invasions into their homes.”

Given the run of dismaying decisions rendered by Trump’s three appointments since the Occupation Government swindled its way into power (and even before that, actually), I must admit I did NOT see this one coming. Bill offers some speculation on what the future might bring:

This overturns two lower court decisions, and firmly, too. Further, in dicta, Alito noted:

At the same time, he noted that the case implicates “another body of law that petitioner glossed over: the so-called ‘red flag’ laws that some States are now enacting.”

Such laws, he wrote, “enable the police to seize guns pursuant to a court order to prevent their use for suicide or the infliction of harm on innocent persons.”

Although this particular decision does not address those issues, “provisions of red flag laws may be challenged under the Fourth Amendment, and those cases may come before us.”

This is all good stuff.  However, take note that this decision was unanimous, which leaves me worried that Roberts will do everything he can to prevent any new gun legislation that extends Heller and MacDonald beyond a guarantee of a right to keep arms inside your own home unless he can get a unanaimous court to do so. And he won’t be able to do that.

…Yes, the Court did just take a a case that would be a perfect opportunity to do just that.

As I say, though, I doubt if Roberts was among those who granted cert – it was probably Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch and Barrett. I think that Kavanaugh is probably Roberts’ bitch and will vote with the Chief no matter what.

So we’ll see.

Indeed we will. Elsehwhere, Codrea notices an atypical dearth of chatter from the Left:

I just checked Twitter and as of this posting have not seen one national “commonsense gun safety group” react and inform its supporters.

MSNBC doesn’t feel much like talking about it either.

Heh. Good; it almost certainly means that this decision has left them much too depressed to make with their usual triumphant braying. With luck, this could even bring about a few suicides amongst the gun-grabbers. But even if it doesn’t, we can all still enjoy the unusual silence while it lasts.

Gloves: take ’em OFF

Kill ’em all. God will surely know His own.

It is time to put paid once and for all to the evil terror organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad that have been attacking the heartland of Israel virtually ever since Israel freely gave Gaza to the Palestinians, first to the Palestinian Authority and then to Hamas after they murdered the PA officials in a mini-civil war and took over the territory as a fanatical dictatorship.

Every few years Hamas (and their now-billionaire leadership) seizes on something, some issue on the Temple Mount, a neighborhood where, in their view, too many Jews are moving in, and start a missile barrage, aiming to hit as many innocent civilians as possible and ignite the “Arab street.”

The current barrage, thanks largely to Iran, is the biggest ever, with modern weapons that can reach the entire Jewish state with significant payloads.

Several times the Israel Defense Force has been constrained to enter Gaza to put a stop to these barrages.

That appears to be happening again now.

Well, DUH. A Democrat-Socialist junta is in power here again, and the Muzzrats know very well whose side that crime syndicate masquerading as a legitimate US political party is firmly and fully on in the ME.

Whatever the case—this time they should finish the job. Finally.

They shouldn’t listen to the United States or anybody.

It’s too bad that life in the region had been improving so dramatically for all—Arabs and Jews—while the dreaded orange-haired man was in office, and almost the moment Joe Biden replaced him, things went immediately South, like everything else. (Was Hamas waiting for this? Probably.)

But recent as that was, that was then and this is now. We can’t be nostalgic, tempting as it is.

I didn’t always feel this way. I supported negotiation and a two-state solution, even when it became apparent, unless your head was buried so deep in the ground it was coming out the other side, that the Palestinians had no interest in one. I also wanted the Israeli army to show “restraint,” at least to the degree possible.

No longer. I don’t care how polite the Israeli armed forces are now. I only care that they win.

No mercy, this time. Full Dresden—or enough Dresden for them to know for once you’re very serious, desperately wave the white flag and disarm the way Germany and Japan did.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. Let American Jooo!-haterz both Right and Left cavil and kvetch to their hearts’ content, I don’t care. This is and always has been a struggle between civilization and primordial savagery—nothing more, nothing less. The Paleosimians have no rightful claim on the territory once called Judea, which was the Jewish homeland for oh, around three thousand years or thereabouts, up until a passel of uppity Jordanian-Arab camel-humpers decided to claim squatters’ rights in the name of almighty Allah (Piss Be Upon Him) and enstupidated Western shitlibs fell all over themselves to back that arrant horseshit.

Israelis have endured living cheek-by-jowl with barbaric, genocidal swine much longer than compassion, human decency, or even simple pity demands of them. No other nation would have put up with it, nor should they. Enough already. Let Israel deal with the bloody-minded Moslem enemy harshly, with utter ruthlessness—the selfsame ruthlessness the so-called “Palestinians” have demonstrated against Israel—keeping the goal of permanently abolishing this intolerable, subhuman menace foremost in mind. The entire world will be a better place for it.

Common enemies update! Quelle shock.

Los Angeles, CA — News outlets in California were reporting about hundreds marching in “solidarity with Palestine” amid the ongoing violence in the Middle East. They shared photos of these “protesters” waving flags and continued to push the anti-Israel agenda of the radical left and the mainstream media.

What they did not report, however, was the involvement of Antifa. Video coming from Los Angeles shows Antifa flags present in the demonstrations as well. Antifa members were blocking a California Highway Patrol vehicle that was attempting to leave, refusing to move and allow the officer to leave. After he pushed through the Antifa members, they started to give chase toward the vehicle and another officer.

By their enemies shall ye know them. We can only hope that at least a handful of PantiFags will haul it on over to Gaza only to wind up getting their flea-bitten asses Rachel Corrie’d. T’is a consummation devoutly to be wished.

Moral clarity update! Right, wrong, and how to tell who is which.

Nationally syndicated radio host Dennis Prager has often observed that if the Israelis were to lay down their guns, Israel would be destroyed tomorrow, but if the Palestinians were to lay down their guns, there would be peace tomorrow. It has always been thus.

When it comes to some contentious issues, dogmatic ideology or blind zeal can prevent reasonable people from assessing a situation through the lens of prudence, which Aristotle recognized as the queen of the virtues. But this does not apply to the plight in the Levant — to the Palestinians’ century-long civilizational jihad to destroy the world’s sole Jewish state. In this latest round of recriminations and escalations, there is a side that is in the right and a side that is in the wrong.

Israel, a first-world nation-state and global technological hub with ascendant geopolitical and diplomatic clout, is in the right to exercise its sovereign right to defend itself from the predations of a thuggish Palestinian Authority and a genocidal Muslim Brotherhood offshoot; Ramallah’s deceitful inciters of Temple Mount jihad and nationwide anti-Jewish pogroms, along with Hamas’ murderous petty tyrants, are in the wrong. To anyone with a functioning moral compass, this stark dichotomy ought to be intuitive and obvious.

Alas, this past week has highlighted just how utterly depraved the leftist moral compass actually is. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., a longstanding anti-Semite and co-founder of House Democrats’ de facto Hamas Caucus, outrageously tweeted that Israeli air strikes in Gaza against military targets amounted to “act(s) of terrorism.” Omar’s partner in crime and Hamas Caucus co-founder Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., joined in the intersectional fun, opining, “What they are doing to the Palestinian people is what they continue to do to our Black brothers and sisters here” in the U.S.

Ben Rhodes, the failed novelist-turned-former Obama staffer who attained outsized notoriety in foisting the vile Iran nuclear deal upon an American polity that rightfully opposed it, seized the moment not to stand in solidarity with our Israeli allies but to openly muse what the world looks like “through the eyes of a Palestinian child.” Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, meanwhile, saw no apparent contradiction in maintaining his permanent ban of former President Donald Trump while imposing a mere 12-hour suspension on Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh for celebrating the “bombing of Tel Aviv,” and providing a platform for blue-checked Hitler nostalgia to percolate.

President Joe Biden took a very long time to issue a mealy-mouthed statement defending Israel’s “right to defend itself” — a patronizing talking point that would never be trotted out about any other sovereign nation in the world. And a galling percentage of elected Democratic senators and congressmen, more generally, droned on about the need for Israel to exercise restraint while studiously avoiding any condemnation whatsoever of Hamas.

The American left and the media organs it controls are exporting their paroxysms of “1619 Project” rage onto a foreign stage, expiating their “white guilt” sins and armchair-quarterbacking a foreign conflict on a cosplayed chess board. In this perverse cosplay, Israel (whose Jewish population is plurality-Mizrahi, meaning of Middle Eastern, non-European descent) is the “white” Derek Chauvin; Hamas is the “brown” George Floyd. And the left will not let facts or rudimentary morality get in the way of this preferred woke narrative, even if it means increasing willingness to openly side with a terrorist group.

Throw in the Murdering Mooselimbs of Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, &c as well, and it becomes readily apparent that hating on DEM JOOOOOZ!!!™ effectively puts one on the same side as all sorts of truly unsavory types.

How it’s DONE

Get up, stand up/Stand up for your rights…before they’re gone forever.

A Trump supporter said exactly what all of us have been thinking during an absolutely epic rant at a gas station.

In a video posted to Instagram, the infuriated man paces around a gas station demanding to know why Joe Biden voters are not being forced to stand by every mistake the president makes — the way that Trump supporters had to defend every single thing he did.

“Where the f-ck are the Joe Biden supporters?” the man shouts at the crowded station at the beginning of the video. “I can tell y’all why I support Trump, tell me why y’all support this motherf-cker.”

He walked around for a minute before noting that “ain’t nobody saying nothing,” as no one was willing to stand up to him and defend Biden’s honor. He noted that liberals had a “whole lot of energy” to open their mouths when Trump was in office.

As people filled their cars with the newly overpriced gas thanks to the administration’s policies, he explained that every day he had to explain why he supported Trump.

“I had to stand behind that sh-t every f-cking day,” he says in exasperated frustration. “I don’t hear no motherf-cking body telling me why they support Joe Biden or all this goofy sh-t.”

Cassandra cautions that the language is, shall we say, not suitable for children and other living things, and she ain’t wrong. But sometimes good old-fashioned salty words are just what the occasion calls for. This would be one of those times. Be sure to scroll down at GP and watch the vid; as I told the members of my small text-msg meme list earlier, it just might be the greatest video of all time. And there’s more cause for celebration and hope out there.

The Lewis Country Store in Nashville, Tennessee is making massive waves with a giant screen broadcasting memes slamming the Biden administration over gas prices.

Among the memes are photos of a laughing Tucker Carlson, an empty gas gauge with the Biden/Harris logo, and a meme of the president’s son, Hunter Biden, smoking crack in a bathtub.

“Hope gas prices don’t get too high,” one side of the meme reads. The other side is captioned “gas prices,” with the Biden family photo.

The gas station and country store previously made waves for putting a message on the screen that read “roses are red. Grass is greener. If you think I’m gonna wear a mask, you can suck my wiener.”

Read all of this one and watch the vid too; I personally guarantee it’ll put a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Speaking of songs, I’ve posted this classic Marley tune before, I know. But it’s never the wrong time to enjoy it again, and it never will be.

Preach it, brother.

Honor thy forefathers

CA gets a letter from a reader.

I recently set my wheels on the road for a trip through the Communist North East.

I wanted to see some of these things while travel was still possible and before the Vaxstappo begins asking for your papers to allow you to travel between states.

One of these stops was in Boston.  Specifically, to see the North Bridge and the Isaac Davis statue.

Sometimes you just get the feeling of how small you are in the moment.

The visit to the North Bridge was one of those moments for me.

I can readily imagine so. If you’ve forgotten the details about Davis and his moment in our glorious history—it shames me to admit I had—here’s a refresher course.

Isaac Davis (February 23, 1745 – April 19, 1775) was a gunsmith and a militia officer who commanded a company of Minutemen from Acton, Massachusetts, during the first battle of the American Revolutionary War. In the months leading up to the Revolution, Davis set unusually high standards for his company in terms of equipment, training, and preparedness. His company was selected to lead the advance on the British Regulars during the Battle of Concord because his men were entirely outfitted with bayonets. During the American advance on the British at the Old North Bridge, Davis was among the first killed and was the first American officer to die in the Revolution.

Faulty memory notwithstanding, you’ll likely be familiar with Daniel French’s The Minute Man statue; it’s an iconic memorial, a rendition of which also serves as the National Guard logo as well as being featured on the Massachussetts quarter. The story of Davis and the unfortunate part he played in the Battle of Concord is always worth revisiting.

In November 1774, Acton formed a company of Minutemen, and Davis was elected captain. He was determined that his company be as well-equipped as the British soldiers. Most provincial Minuteman companies, unlike professional soldiers, were not equipped with bayonets for use in close combat and they typically re-loaded using powder horns, a slow method more suited to hunting than to battle. Davis employed his skills as a gunsmith to outfit nearly every man in his company with a bayonet and saw that his men were supplied with cartridge boxes, allowing his company to re-load as quickly as the British. Finally, Davis emphasized marksmanship, training his company on an improvised shooting range behind his house. These high standards in terms of equipment and training made the Acton company one of the best prepared in Massachusetts.

According to tradition, Davis was a superstitious man who believed he had seen numerous omens that indicated that he would die if forced into battle. In 1851, Rev. James Woodbury, Acton’s representative to the Massachusetts General Court, delivered a speech about Davis to the House of Representatives. During this speech, Woodbury described an incident that allegedly took place a few days before the Battle of Concord in which Davis and his family returned home to find an owl perched on Davis’s musket. According to Woodbury, “It was an ill omen, a bad sign. The sober conclusion was that the first time that Davis went into battle, he would lose his life.”

On the night of April 18, 1775, Gage dispatched approximately 800 British Regulars under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith. The Sons of Liberty in Boston were convinced that the British troops would also attempt to capture the provincial leaders, John Hancock and Samuel Adams, who were in Lexington, Massachusetts. Messengers Paul Revere and William Dawes therefore rode again on the night of April 18 to warn Hancock and Adams that the soldiers were marching from Boston. In Lexington, the British force encountered resistance from the Lexington militia, and a skirmish ensued on Lexington Green; eight provincials were killed, and one British soldier was wounded.Following the action on Lexington Green, the British marched on to Concord.

Word of the British movement reached Acton just before dawn on April 19, most likely delivered by Dr. Samuel Prescott, a resident of Concord and one of the Sons of Liberty. As the alarm spread, the Acton Minutemen began to gather at Davis’s home. While waiting for others to arrive, the men made paper cartridges and some powdered their hair with flour so as to appear more like gentlemen when they met the British in battle. As the Minutemen prepared, Davis’s wife noticed that he seemed especially somber and said very little. As some of his men joked about getting shot at by a British soldier, Davis rebuked them, reminding them that some of them would soon be killed.

Davis formed up his company and ordered them to march at about 7 a.m. According to his wife and other witnesses, shortly after stepping off, Davis ordered his company to halt, then returned to his front door to tell his wife, “Take good care of the children.” Soon after crossing into Concord, the Acton company passed the farm of Colonel James Barrett who commanded the provincial troops in Concord that morning. A small detachment of British soldiers were searching Barrett’s farm for supplies, and Davis considered attacking them. His orders, however, were to muster with the rest of the provincial militia and Minutemen near the Old North Bridge by the Concord River. He then diverted his company off the road, avoiding the British at Barrett’s farm and marching past a tavern belonging to a Widow Brown. A boy named Charles Handley, who lived at Widow Brown’s Tavern, saw Davis’s company pass the tavern. He recalled many years later that a fifer and drummer played a song called “The White Cockade”, a reference to the white ribbon worn on their bonnets by Scots revolutionaries during The ’45. Tradition persists that this was Davis’s favorite marching song, but there is little evidence to support this notion. There is also a tradition that the Acton musicians played the White Cockade later when Davis’s company led the advance on the British at the Old North Bridge, although this too is not supported by primary source accounts.

Davis’s company reached the area of the Old North Bridge at approximately 9 a.m. Several other companies of militia and Minutemen, consisting of about 500 men from Concord, Lincoln, and Bedford, had already gathered on a small hill overlooking the bridge. Approximately 100 British Regulars occupied the bridge. Shortly after Davis arrived, Barrett called a council of the officers present to determine whether or not to attack the Regulars at the bridge. In Concord, the majority of the British force was searching for supplies, but they found little. When they decided to burn some wooden gun carriages they discovered, the provincials near the Old North Bridge saw the smoke and thought the British were burning the town. Barrett then made the decision to attack the soldiers holding the bridge.

Davis’s company had taken their designated position at the left of the provincial line. This would have placed the Acton company in the rear of the attack when the line advanced. The company in the lead would have been Captain David Brown’s company from Concord. When Barrett asked Brown if he would lead the attack, Brown responded that he would rather not. Knowing that Davis’s company was well equipped with bayonets and cartridge boxes, Barrett asked Davis if his company would lead the advance. Several slight variations of Davis’s response have been recorded. His response is most often given as, “I have not a man that is afraid to go.” Following Barrett’s orders, Davis then moved his company to the right of the line. Around 10:30, the provincials faced to the right and advanced on the Old North Bridge in a column of two men abreast. At the head of the column was Davis, Major John Buttrick of Concord, and Lt. Col. John Robinson of Westford. Barrett remained behind on the hill, cautioning his men as they marched by him not to fire first. The British at the bridge, watching the provincials approach, were surprised to see, as one soldier later said, that they “advanced with the greatest regularity”.

When the provincials were within about 75 yards of the bridge, the Regulars fired a few warning shots. Luther Blanchard, the fifer from Acton, was hit and wounded by one of these warning shots. The British then fired a disorganized volley. Isaac Davis was shot through the heart. Private Abner Hosmer of Acton was also killed in this volley. Seeing these casualties, Buttrick commanded, “Fire, fellow soldiers, for God’s sake fire!” and the provincials returned fire, causing the British to immediately retreat back to Concord.

By God, if that doesn’t make your heart beat faster and the hair on back of your neck stand straight up…well, you just ain’t anything I’ll ever acknowledge as an American, that’s all.

The story of Isaac Davis, Concord, and the American Revolution should serve as an inspiration to every red-blooded American. The tragedy of our age is that, rather than being a fundamental part of the public-school curriculum, I doubt you could find much more than a handful of grade-schoolers in the entire country who ever heard a single word of it. It’s no less than a national disgrace.

The opening stanza of Emerson’s Concord Hymn is engraved on The Minute Man‘s plinth:

By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood
And fired the shot heard round the world.

Stirring words, a worthy salute to commemorate valiant men and the resounding victory for all mankind bought for us by their brave sacrifice. Alas, Emerson’s third stanza is probably more apt for their less-noble heirs:

On this green bank, by this soft stream,
We set today a votive stone;
That memory may their deed redeem,
When, like our sires, our sons are gone.

May God grant that the Founders’ descendants may redeem those great deeds and reclaim their priceless inheritance before all is said and done.

God bless Texas Tennessee?

There’s only one way out of the Branch Covidian dystopian nightmare: stark, unyielding defiance.

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Amid a nonprofit group’s lawsuit against Republican Gov. Bill Lee alleging his coronavirus restrictions were unconstitutional, the group is putting up billboards to encourage residents to return to normal.

Tennessee Stands, a conservative group with offices across the state, started the initiative in Johnson City and put up additional billboards in Bristol and Kingsport. The billboards read, “Your Compliance is prolonging this nightmare. Ditch the mask.”

Tri-City Director Danielle Goodrich led the effort in the three cities. She founded the group Johnson City Freedom to try and get kids in person for school during the pandemic. Goodrich also took issue with schools eventually requiring students to mask up upon reopening. She told The Federalist that Americans should not have to “bow down to these absurd, slavish, and oppressive rules, which the government doesn’t have the authority to do.”

“The government can’t tell you not to work,” Goodrich said. “You need to eat. These are unalienable rights. The government’s only purpose is to uphold and protect the unalienable rights of the people, not to infringe upon them.”

Tennessee Stands takes issue with Lee’s COVID response. Hundreds of volunteers are working on the billboard project. One is Angela Grgic, a resident of Columbia who joked her last name would look like a typo. She joined the initiative because the government’s response “didn’t feel right.”

“It seemed like my rights — my constitutional rights — were being taken away from me without my permission,” Grgic said in an interview. “It just didn’t feel right. So some friends and I got together and we were talking about it a lot. We found Gary and Tennessee Stands. We started watching videos and doing more research. We started realizing, ‘Man, why are we complying? Why are we just going along with this because everybody else is?’ We just started pushing back.”

Two Johnston City volunteers concurred with Grgic, and told The Federalist masks have become a political tool. Dr. Denise Sibley, M.D., said masks are “a symbol of control rather than they are a medical intervention.” She has lived in Johnson City for 31 years.

“This is all part of COVID theatre,” Sibley said. “So, if you want to wear it for your theatre, that’s fine. But don’t make everyone else see a new show.”

Good on all these fine Americans, and Godspeed to them. Bottom line:

“I hope this encourages people that are tired of complying with arbitrary rules that there are other people like them,” said Humble. “If we all just stop doing this tomorrow, it ends. The only power these people have is our compliance. It’s the simple principle of the consent of the governed. We’re consenting to unconstitutional government.”

How heartening it is to know that, even today, there are still some folks out there in this stricken land who truly do get it.

French redemption

Vive la résistance!

A group of active French military personnel has published a new open letter to the country’s president Emmanuel Macron, warning him of a “civil war” brewing in the country after all the “concessions” he’s made to Islamism.

The letter, published in the conservative Valeurs Actuelles magazine late on Sunday, strikes a similar tone to the message published by the same outlet last month. Unlike the previous one, which was signed by 25 retired generals and active-duty soldiers, the new letter is anonymous and is open for signing by the general public. As of noon on Monday, it had attracted over 100,000 signatures.

The authors of the letter have described themselves as active-duty French soldiers, belonging to the younger generation of the military that saw actual combat over the past years.

An excerpt from this latest…well, call it a warning order:

Our seniors are fighters who deserve to be respected. These are for example the old soldiers whose honor you have trampled on in recent weeks. It is these thousands of servants of France, signatories of a platform of common sense, soldiers who gave their best years to defend our freedom, obeying your orders, to wage your wars or to implement your budget restrictions. , which you soiled while the people of France supported them.

These people who fought against all the enemies of France, you have treated them as factious when their only fault is to love their country and to mourn its visible downfall.

Under these conditions, it is up to us, who have recently entered the career, to enter the arena simply to have the honor of telling the truth.

We are what the newspapers have called “the fire generation”. Men and women, active soldiers, of all armies and of all ranks, of all sensibilities, we love our country. These are our only claims to fame. And if we cannot, by law, express ourselves with our face uncovered, it is just as impossible for us to be silent.

Afghanistan, Mali, the Central African Republic or elsewhere, a number of us have experienced enemy fire. Some have left comrades there. They offered their skin to destroy the Islamism to which you are making concessions on our soil.

Almost all of us have known Operation Sentinel. We saw with our own eyes the abandoned suburbs, the accommodation with delinquency. We have undergone the attempts to instrumentalize several religious communities, for whom France means nothing – nothing but an object of sarcasm, contempt or even hatred.

We marched on July 14th. And this benevolent and diverse crowd, which acclaimed us because we are the emanation of it, we were asked to beware of it for months, by forbidding us to circulate in uniform, by making us potential victims, on a soil that we are nevertheless capable of defending.

Cowardice, deceit, perversion: such is not our vision of the hierarchy. On the contrary, the army is, par excellence, the place where we speak truthfully to each other because we commit our lives. It is this confidence in the military institution that we call for.

Yes, if a civil war breaks out, the army will maintain order on its own soil, because it will be asked to. It is even the definition of civil war. No one can want such a terrible situation, our elders no more than us, but yes, again, civil war is brewing in France and you know it perfectly well.

Strong words indeed, and entirely righteous ones. As of this morning the letter had been co-signed by more than 229,000 valiant Frenchmen, bless them.

Also attached to the WRSA post from whence this came is Buppert’s timely reminder to not underestimate the courage or ability of the French soldiery, and he ain’t wrong about that. Back in the days when Cousin Regbo was posting here regularly, I was in the habit myself of making sport of Gallic military derring-do. Reggie—a career USN fighter jock who spent a year flying the Dassault Super Étendard off the French carrier Foch as an exchange officer—upbraided me on the regular about my ill-informed disdain, insisting that the sailors and flyboys he had served with on the Foch were among the toughest and most ferocious warriors he knew of anywhere on Earth.

Then again, though, Reg wound up marrying not one but two (2) French femmes before all was said and done, so he might’ve been just a wee mite biased in favor of the Frogs generally. Whatever the case, kudos and a toss of the ol’ beret to the French soldiery for daring to step up and speak truth to Power at last. Their caution about interjecting themselves in their country’s political affairs is both becoming and proper, and speaks quite well of their professionalism and patriotism. We must all hope and pray that they haven’t waited until it was too late.

WHO?!?

Not all rock stars are libtard morons.

Roger Daltrey: The ‘Woke’ Generation is Creating a Miserable World

That’s the whole idea. Wokesters are all miserable little worms themselves, and as everybody knows, misery loves company.

The Who legend Roger Daltrey says the ‘woke’ generation is creating a miserable world that serves to stifle the kind of creative freedom he enjoyed in the 60s.

“It’s terrifying, the miserable world they’re going to create for themselves. I mean, anyone who’s lived a life and you see what they’re doing, you just know that it’s a route to nowhere,” he added.

Daltrey also slammed the negative impact that social media has had on the world, saying it has undermined truth.

“It’s just getting harder to disseminate the truth. It’s almost like, now we should turn the whole thing off. Go back to newsprint, go back to word of mouth and start to read books again,” he said.

While Daltrey’s comments may not be mind-blowing, any celebrity speaking out against the mob that has cannibalized culture is something to be applauded.

Indeed so. I do believe this calls for some Who embeds tonight, which we’ll get to anon.

My own personal rundown of the 60’s Brit Invasion bands runs something like this:

  • The Beatles: love love love their early stuff; can’t stand their latter-day hippy-dippy psychedelic glop
  • The Stones: meh (Keef and Charlie emphatically excepted, of course)
  • The Kinks, ditto (no exceptions)
  • Herman’s Hermits: oof
  • The Hollies: Some truly GREAT stuff, interspersed with some real clunkers later on
  • The Yardbirds: meh

Which pretty much leaves the Who at the top of the whole pile as far as I’m concerned. In discussing this topic with friends and fellow players over lo, these many years, some have expressed surprise over my antipathy to most of the Stones’ ouevre, along with my professed fondness for the ‘Oo. The Stones, after all, were grungy, cocky, rough-hewn outlaws—ie, the same ruffian cloth I’m cut from myself—in sharp contrast to the Who’s more clean-cut, less-outlandish Boy Next Door image, Daltrey especially.

What can I possibly say, except…I can’t explain.

The almighty power chords raging throughout the most iconic rock anthem of all time might help explain my lasting affection for these guys, maybe.

That’s the closer of what was billed at the time as The Who’s farewell show in 1982—although as final shows go, this one later turned out not to be all that final. The concert was aired on Showtime, I think it was. I do remember watching it over and over at a friend’s crib with the rest of our crew, completely in awe of the way these old geezers could still kick out the jams with the cream of the Young Dudes crop. If you got the time and dig the Who like I do, it’s definitely worth checking out the whole thing.

And since I brought up the Hollies before, here’s one of their best, according to l’il ol’ moi at any rate.

Lip-synced, naturally. I did run across a quite creditable live clip of the song from another TV appearance, but when the instrumental break came around and those sweet steel drums…JUST…WEREN’T…THERE…

…well, my heart broke a little bit, I missed them so very much. Still, though: could those boys sing or WHAT?

Mamalicious!

I’m laboring mightily here to refrain from making the all-too-obvious “MILF militia” crack, really I am. But it’s hard. So, so hard.

Mamalitia.jpeg

All my crass joking around aside, bless these comely lasses for their pluck, their initiative, and their can-do spirit, as laid out in the group’s mission statement:

Mamalitia is a community of constitution loving women that recognize our empowerment comes from fully engaging in our children’s education, our wellness, food and financial sovereignty, and overall skills. We are committed to building the world we want to live in, getting back to our roots while empowering women from every walk of life.

Mamalitia was formed in 2019, and is based in California where the founder saw a need to prepare women during a time of uncertainty. We are a non partisan group of women who support the Constitution and support uplifting other women. We are made up of professionals and homemakers, women trained in natural medicine, business owners, mothers and women who want to learn how to be self sustaining if and when needed.

Our women are trained in how to communicate should we be cut off

Our women are trained in protecting our homes

Our women are trained in how to prepare with food and supplies

Our women are trained in medic skills

Our women are trained in community support

Our women are creating schools

The tyrants have created women who are ready to go like it’s 1776.

In California? You go, girls, and good on ya. Needless to say, Mamalitia being comprised of patriotic, self-reliant, and indomitable sorts, the usual shitlib suspects are all a-snivel:

Triggered leftists are reportedly threatening a group of moms opposed to mandatory vaccines in California who have formed a pro-Second Amendment group empowering women called the “Mamalitia.”

On Sunday, the Mamalitia group announced it would cancel public meet-and-greet events after receiving terroristic threats following media hit pieces which mischaracterized the group as dangerous radical extremists.

“Mamalitia community has canceled all public meet and greet events due to media attacks, irresponsible reporting and false claims that have invited terrorist organizations to threaten our women and children,” reads a press release put out by the group.

Yeah, well, I can think of a really good retort to that kind of nonsense. More than just the one, actually, none of which involve putting up with a second’s worth of shit from the quivering queefs. More, and more pussified:

Dr. Richard Carpiano is a professor of public policy and sociology at the University of California, Riverside who has followed the group and its movements on social media since its founding.

He says Aguilar was in Washington, D.C., in January when a violent coup stormed congress, though there’s no evidence she breached the building.

But she has been seen on social media alongside members of groups like the Proud Boys.

He’s concerned that with this rhetoric some group members could become violent.

“When you’re showing pictures of you with weapons, you are advertising services to train people in firearms. There’s no reason whatsoever to think they’re not pushing some extremist view,” he said.

The article also cited state Senator Richard Pan (also a former UC professor), who claimed the group had bullied and harassed lawmakers.

“Not only did they protest the public health measures but they then employed tactics to bully and intimidate people,” Pan told CBS Sacramento.

I strongly suspect that, in your case, it would NOT be a difficult thing to do, Poindexter. Probably be a lot tougher to AVOID intimidating a “man” like you, in fact. You and the limpid Miss Carpiano sound as if you’d both collapse into a piss-yellow puddle on the sidewalk, hysterical tears copiously flowing, if a medium-sized dog growled in your general direction.

Most peculiar, innit, how the self-proclaimed “feminists”—especially the “male” variety—immediately soil their Underoos at the mere sight of a truly strong, independent-minded woman? I must inquire once more: HOW THE FUCK IS IT that we ever allowed such miserable specimens to take our country from us in the first place?

Tyranny’s cauldron

We’re in it. Not because we want to be. Not because we chose to be. Because power-drunk fools have put us there.

Two phrases, taken together, probably constitute the origin of violence and conflict throughout the history of mankind. They are the imperative command “Submit,” and the responsive challenge, “Or what?” I am guessing billions have died as a result of that conversation, because the follow-on to “or what” is when the stabbing, hacking, shooting, and bombing starts. If one wishes to avoid that violence, it is best to avoid forcing that discussion.

In war, there is a military strategy called the “Golden Bridge.” It is used when fighting a determined and powerful opponent that you may be able to defeat, but not completely destroy. The Golden Bridge is a path for a defeated enemy to retreat from the battlefield. This idea comes from Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu who wrote in The Art of War, “Do not push too hard on a desperate enemy,” as this will cause him to fight to the death, which in the end inflicts a much higher cost on your own forces. The goal is to defeat the enemy with the least number of casualties and expenditures of resources on one’s own side—thus maintaining the strength and capabilities of your own army, and in the case of internal conflicts, maintaining a recoverable semblance of order.

The opposite of the Golden Bridge is the World War II German Army strategy of “kettling.” Kettling comes from the German word for cauldron, Kessel. It is used against one’s enemy in order to destroy it or force its unconditional surrender. There is no retreat allowed, and the objective is to isolate the enemy and cause the maximum amount of misery and chaos prior to a final crushing attack.

If we examine what is happening in America now, it is possible to make out the initial shape of the ruling elite’s strategy vis-à-vis their political opposition—and it looks like a cauldron. Through legislative actions such as the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, H.R. 1 federalized voting law, gun control, Supreme Court-packing, and D.C. and Puerto Rico state initiatives, one can see the kettle forming. If you don’t see a Golden Bridge, it is because there isn’t one.

If we listen to the words of the politicians and their bureaucrat handlers in Washington, we can hear the language of the imperative, “Submit,” with no post-capture options. And, if we look at the current zero-sum game of political warfare, cancel culture, and the weaponization of the Justice Department, federal law enforcement, and intelligence agencies, we can see deliberate preparations to answer traditional Americans’ “or what?” response.

The ruling elite appears comfortable delivering the command “Submit” to traditional America, and are not concerned with the consequences that will follow. But they are not fighters, and as such, they plan to use their weaponized federal agencies and useful-idiot brown shirts to do the dirty work. In their ignorance and arrogance, they believe employing violence-by-proxy is a safe strategy. They do not see the reaper that is staring directly at them.

Left to their own devices, the inevitable result of their mistake will be chaos and some version of armed conflict, and most likely the end of our republic as we knew it. For traditional Americans, it is worth considering now whether this is an acceptable future.

Sow the wind; reap the whirlwind has a long history in America as a cautionary scripture instructing restraint from self-destructive behavior. But what of the people who sow the wind in order to call forth the whirlwind, as a weapon against their enemies? What of the people who call forth the whirlwind because, despite the horrible destruction it will bring to their fellow man, they believe they will in some way profit it from the misery? What do we, America, do with those people? How can we afford to tolerate them in our midst?

The elites have a plan. They believe they will be fine, because they’re counting on your submission. If anything remotely unanticipated happens, they can safely escape to their Martha’s Vineyard estates, their compounds in Montana, or their razor wire fortress in Washington, D.C. while things get sorted out by the loyal apparatchiks.

Much as Karl Rove did during the George W. Bush Administration, the elites suffer from the substantial hubris of believing they can create their own reality. They are undeservedly impressed with their status and legend, having brought a once strong nation to the brink of disaster through malevolent and corrupt leadership. As such, they remain oblivious to the lessons from 20 years of fruitless war and the folly of trying to impose one’s will on another.

In reality, they are not strong enough—or smart enough—to wield the command “Submit.” So, having picked up the sword, they will watch it be taken from their hands and then used against them by their very enemy—traditional Americans, who understand there will be no tomorrow, and in whose eyes there is a fierceness, a fury, that is beyond their world. It will be a fatal miscalculation that will bring about the downfall of a cursed and failed American ruling elite. And perhaps, if we can recapture the founding principles of our republic, the beginning of a new and better governance by and for the people; one truly dedicated to liberty and justice for all.

As clear-eyed, plainspoken, and unflinching an analysis of the present impasse as I’ve ever seen, anywhere. A likewise perceptive comment provides an appropriate coda for this absolutely riveting article:

The most terrifying force of death comes from the hands of ‘Men who wanted to be left Alone.’

They try, so very hard to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love.

They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it.

They know the moment they fight back, the lives as they have lived them, are over.

The moment the ‘Men who wanted to be left Alone’ are forced to fight back, it is a small form of suicide.

They are literally killing off who they used to be.

Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these ‘Men who wanted to be left Alone’, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives.

They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror.

TRUE TERROR will arrive at the Left’s door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy, but it will fall upon deaf ears.

Submit? NEVER. The filthy bastards know not what they do. To their everlasting horror, they will soon learn—a most painful education, taught in the harshest of schools.
