Pitbull takes a bite

An urgent wake-up call, from one who knows whereof he speaks.

Armando Christian Pérez, the renowned Grammy-winning rapper known as Pitbull, spoke out about the abuse of power in COVID-19 lockdowns. Pitbull, a first-generation Cuban American whose family escaped from Fidel Castro’s communism, claimed that Castro would be jealous of the power Democratic officials have exercised during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“My family comes from communism, they fled communism, they had everything taken away from them, everybody got murdered, everybody got killed,” Pitbull said in a video on RevoltTV. “That’s the reason me, being a first-generation Cuban American, I look at freedom and I appreciate that s***. I appreciate opportunity…That comes from the fact that when Castro took over everything, and I’m looking at what’s going here right now.”

“The only person that’s hot…is Castro,” Pitbull added. “He’s going, ‘Y’all did it with a virus? Sh**. Y’all took over the world with a virus? You’ve got to be kidding me.’”

Pitbull noted that Castro “had missiles pointed to the United States of America” but he suggested that the COVID-19 lockdowns have done more damage to America than Russia did in the Cold War.

The rapper warned about Big Tech censorship, likening it to communism. “If anybody is not a part of the narrative we gonna take it off online… which to me smells like…communism,” he said.

There’s a very good reason for that, as this courageous young liberty-lover knows all too well. A little Pitbull pedigree:

As Paul Sakka at The Blaze noted, Pitbull’s grandmother fought in the Cuban Revolution on Castro’s side only to realize that she had made a terrible mistake. Fearing the rumors about communist indoctrination camps for children, she sent her two daughters to the United States during Operation Peter Pan, a covert program that brought 14,000 Cuban children to the U.S. between 1960 and 1962. The U.S. government brought Pitbull’s mother and aunt to Florida, and Pitbull’s father would also land there after fleeing the Castro regime.

Pitbull has said he would never play a concert in Cuba so long as the communist Castros control the country. “I won’t perform in Cuba until there’s no more Castro and there’s a free Cuba,” he told The Guardian in 2011. “To me, Cuba’s the biggest prison in the world, and I would be very hypocritical were I to perform there. The people in Cuba, they know what I stand for, and there’s a lot of people in Cuba that stand for the same. But they can’t say it.”

Good for Pitbull for exercising his rapidly-vanishing right to speak out like this. Nobody fears and loathes Marxist tyranny like those who have experienced it firsthand and lived to tell the tale. Americans ignore the increasingly clamorous warning of communism’s survivors at their own dire peril.

Remember when

Then: statesmen. Now: career politicians.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is “needed” before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents’ “interests”, I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can.

Barry Goldwater, of course, whose 1964 defeat-by-smearjob qualifies as possibly the most damaging missed opportunity this poor country ever inflicted on itself. He was a fount of pithy, memorable quotations, some of them expressing viewpoints that might not always be quite what one would expect. For instance:

Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they’re sure trying to do so, it’s going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can’t and won’t compromise. I know, I’ve tried to deal with them.

And:

You don’t have to be straight to be in the military; you just have to be able to shoot straight.

It’s not at all difficult to find more in that unexpected vein, which still doesn’t detract from the good stuff:

A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have.

Those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. And let me remind you, they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt, and those who seek it must be suspect and must be opposed. Their mistaken course stems from false notions of equality, ladies and gentlemen. Equality, rightly understood, as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences. Wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism. Fellow Republicans, it is the cause of Republicanism to resist concentrations of power, private or public, which enforce such conformity and inflict such despotism. It is the cause of Republicanism to ensure that power remains in the hands of the people.

I feel certain that Conservatism is through unless Conservatives can demonstrate and communicate the difference between being concerned with [the unemployed, the sick without medical care, human welfare, etc.] and believing that the federal government is the proper agent for their solution.

The material and spiritual sides of man are intertwined; that it is impossible for the State to assume responsibility for one without intruding on the essential nature of the other; that if we take from a man the personal responsibility for caring for his material needs, we take from him also the will and the opportunity to be free.

Such, then, is history’s lesson, which Messrs. Acheson and Larson evidently did not read: release the holders of state power from any restraints other than those they wish to impose upon themselves, and you are swinging down the well-traveled road to absolutism. The framers of the Constitution had learned the lesson. They were not only students of history, but victims of it: they knew from vivid, personal experience that freedom depends on effective restraints against the accumulation of power in a single authority.

Most important of all: in our anxiety to “improve” the world and insure “progress” we have permitted our schools to become laboratories for social and economic change according to the predilections of the professional educators. We have forgotten that the proper function of the school is to transmit the cultural heritage of one generation to the next generation, and to so train the minds of the new generation as to make them capable of absorbing ancient learning and applying it to the problem of its own day.

As the public grows more and more cynical, the politician feels less and less compelled to take his promises seriously.

The Conservative also recognizes that the political power on which order is based is a self-aggrandizing force; that its appetite grows with eating. He knows that the utmost vigilance and care are required to keep political power within its proper bounds.

One of the last of the real-deal conservative statesmen, Goldwater never did make it to the White House. And now, no true conservative ever will again. GP hints at one of the reasons why.

Remember the good old days when we could have serious discussions about the constitutional limits of government, and if the myriad government programs we have put in place actually met the constitutional requirement? And how much we would be able to reduce the size and scope of government, and how the first priority of the government was to protect the freedoms and liberty of American citizens?

Yeah, me neither. That is to say, I would dearly like to get back to the point where we could talk about things like this, but we are far beyond this. In fact, we are not even within shouting distance of it. Our disagreements with progressives are not over the size and scope of government, but down lower, way lower, down at some basic, fundamental level where questions about the very nature of men and things must be resolved.

Well, that and them wanting us dead. That has to be resolved, too.

Oh, it will be…one way or another. As it happens, another visionary leader had a few words to say himself on the topic.

If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.

The frightening is that nowadays one can only wonder just how many of us are left who would agree with that last proposition.

TEXIT!

The Bu-God Republic makes its move.

This is indeed a momentous occasion, a cause for joy and celebration, and I heartily wish the brave citizens of the Republic all success in this most worthy effort. At the same time, I hope no Texan is cherishing any illusions regarding the odds that the vile, illegitimate dictatorship of the Former United States might suffer them to redeem their fundamental right to independence, self-government, and liberty without a violent campaign to re-subjugate them.

Tyrants, after all, are NOT known for their forebearance, keen regard for justice and propriety, or generosity of spirit; all the higher sentiments and qualities are alien to them. For such loathsome creatures, “depart in peace” is NEVER an option, the memorable John Adams quote from whence it’s drawn merely a bit of incomprehensible jabberwock, no more. Be assured that the handful among them who are even aware of its existence at all were baffled by it, and disliked it intensely.

But what of it? The tyrant’s nature is eternal, and no secret to any student of history. They are what they are, and will do what they will do. Their soullessness and low, footling character portends their ultimate doom: failure, ruin, and infamy awaits them all, be it sooner or later. So three cheers for Texas, and for Texans! Your righteous example lights the path for every true American. Forever may your proud Republic endure.

Via my esteemed fellow Renegades.

Telling them

I somehow missed one of the most outstanding cris de coeur I’ve ever seen when it first appeared. Thanks to NC Renegade, I can make up for that most regrettable lapse now. I’m going to excerpt quite extravagantly from it, because…well, because I have to, that’s why. Read on, you’ll understand.

My 1940s born Dad raised me to be patriotic and proud, to love the war bird airplanes of his era as much as he does, and to respect our flag and our country as a sacred thing. I grew up thinking that being an American was the greatest gift a person could have. I grew up thinking that our country was as strong, and honest and true as my Dad. I grew up thinking I was free.

As an adult, I have witnessed the world I grew up in fall to ruin. I have watched as our currency and our economy have been shamelessly corrupted beyond redemption. Since we’ve been married, my husband and I TWICE had our meager investment savings gutted by the market that we were told to invest in, now that pensions no longer exist and we working stiffs are on our own. We will be working until we die, because the Social Security we’ve been forced to pay into has also been robbed from under us.

I have watched as our elected officials enter Congress as ordinary folks and leaves as multi millionaires. I have watched my blue collar husband get up at an ungodly hour every day and come home with an aching back that we pray will hold out long enough to get him to old age in one piece. Outside of shoes, socks and underwear, almost everything my family wears was bought used. We’ve been on one vacation in 12 years.

I watched as my family’s health insurance was gutted and destroyed. Our private market insurance, which we had to have because my husband’s employer is too small to have a group plan, was made illegal. We were left with the option of either buying an Obamacare plan with unaffordable deductibles and insanely ridiculous out of pocket maxes, or paying the very gov’t that destroyed our healthcare a fine for not buying the gov’t mandated plan that we cannot afford. We now have short term insurance that isn’t really insurance at all, and I live in fear of one of us getting injured or sick with anything I can’t fix from the medicine cabinet.

I have watched as education, which was already sketchy when I was a kid, became an all out joke of wholly unmathematical math, gold stars for all, and self-loathing anti-Americanism. My family has taken an enormous financial hit as I stay home to home school our child. At least she’ll be able to do old-fashioned math well enough to see how much they are screwing her. A silver lining to every cloud, I guess.

I’ve sat by and held my tongue as I was called deplorable and a bitter clinger and told that I didn’t build that. I’ve been called a racist and a xenophobe and a chump and even an “ugly folk.” I’ve been told that I have privilege, and that I have inherent bias because of my skin color, and that my beloved husband and father are part of a horrible patriarchy. Not one goddamn bit of that is true, but if I dare say anything about it, it will be used as evidence of my racism and white fragility.

Raised to be a Republican, I held my nose and voted for Bush, the Texas-talking blue blood from Connecticut who lied us into 2 wars and gave us the unpatriotic Patriot Act. I voted for McCain, the sociopathic neocon songbird “hero” that torpedoed the attempt to kill the Obamacare that’s killing my family financially. I held it again and voted for Romney, the vulture capitalist skunk that masquerades as a Republican while slithering over to the Democrat camp as often as they’ll tolerate his oily, loathsome presence.

And I voted for Trump, who, if he did nothing else, at least gave a resounding Bronx cheer to the richly deserving smug hypocrites of DC. Thank you for that Mr. President, on behalf of all of us nobodies. God bless you for it.

And now I have watched as people who hate me and mine and call for our destruction blatantly and openly stole the election and then gaslighted us and told us that it was honest and fair. I am watching as the GOP does NOTHING about it. They’re probably relieved that upstart Trump is gone so they can get back to their real jobs of lining their pockets and running interference for their corporate masters. I am watching as the media, in a manner that would make Stalin blush, is silencing anyone who dares question the legitimacy of this farce they call democracy. I know, it’s a republic, but I am so tired of explaining that to people I might as well give in and join them in ignorance.

I will not vote again; they’ve made it abundantly clear that my voice doesn’t matter. Whatever irrational, suicidal lunacy the nanny states thinks is best is what I’ll get. What it decided I need is a geriatric pedophile who shouldn’t be charged with anything more rigorous than choosing between tapioca and rice pudding at the old folks home, and a casting couch skank who rails against racism while being a descendant of slave owners.

I am done. Don’t ask me to pledge to the flag, or salute the troops, or shoot fireworks on the 4th. It’s a sick, twisted, heartbreaking joke, this bloated, unrecognizable corpse of a republic that once was ours.

Now go read the payoff. Trust me, you do NOT want to miss it; it’s a most fitting closer for one of the most brilliant, cleanly-expressed blasts of heartfelt outrage I’ve seen in nearly 20 years of blogging, and that’s all there is to it. Gore’s worthy follow-up:

Four days after the election, a woman calling herself OHMama posted “I Am Done” on The Burning Platform website. It was the site’s most read article of 2020. SLL and many other websites reposted it. It was raw, explosive anger and a profoundly moving lament; OHMama was clearly at the end of her rope. The closing paragraph packed a wallop.

OHMama gave voice to what’s beneath the surface for so many of us—abject disgust, barely contained fury, and dread of what’s to come. She claimed her own life to live it as she sees fit, and damn them, damn them all, who presume to rule us.

That anger surfaced in Washington on January 6. The protest and raid of the Capitol were illuminating in several ways. They defined the two sides: the government, its string-pullers, and its allies versus those who despise and oppose them.

Legacy media was filled with paeans to our “sacred” government and its “temples,” deploring the “sacrilege” of those who “desecrated” and “defiled” them. What absolute tripe! Washington is a Corruptocracy, a moral cesspool. Anything sacred would have been vandalized or torn down by the mobs allowed to run riot last year. They would have toppled the Washington Monument if they could have figured out how.

Americans who build businesses or pursue careers honestly producing goods and services for voluntary trade are engaging in activities far more sacred than anything that goes on in the capital. Millions of parents instill moral principles in their children, only to see those principles defiled daily by the government. Washington delenda est—if it were leveled and sown with salt America and the world would be better for it.

Our opponents have (a) clearly defined goal—absolute power—and they are absolutely committed to subjugating or eliminating anyone who stands in their way. Until recently most of those on our side didn’t even realize we were at war.

Nothing will be fair about the coming fight. It’s no use whining about the other side’s lack of principles, its lies, hypocrisy, unfairness, ruthlessness, and control of virtually every important institution. They’re evil totalitarians, what the hell do we expect? Their principle is absolute power and they’ll do whatever is necessary to acquire and keep it.

Ashli Babbitt’s death, if it is to mean anything at all, should be the cold slap of reality across the faces of those who haven’t grasped the nature of what we face.

Head over and read all of Gore’s piece too. Between the two of ’em, these posts say just about everything that needs to be said. The Enemy, flush with victory and believing it secure, will assuredly ignore the increasingly clangorous warning of the tocsin these writings represent. He will come to regret it, and sorely. Unfortunately, a dear price for his arrogance, his hubris, his greed, his incalculable fucking stupidity, will be extracted from ALL of us.

A long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object

It’s clobberin’ time.

It wasn’t when the US Army attacked the “Bonus Army”, which was peacefully assembled in DC in 1932 seeking early payment of their WWI service bonds.

It wasn’t during the postwar era, when an activist Supreme Court abolished private property rights in the name of “equality”.

It wasn’t when, via the release of the Pentagon Papers in 1971, the American people learned that the entire war in Vietnam had been founded on lies – the biggest of which was that the US military, under the geopolitical and operational constraints they faced, could ever have won the war.

It wasn’t over the torrent of governmental power abuses that ensued over the next 20 years, nor was it when the Ruby Ridge and Waco atrocities happened.

It wasn’t over the establishment of a permanent, unconstitutional omnisurveillance state before and especially after 9/11.

It wasn’t over the nearly 20 years of US military foreign entanglements that took a generation of brave young men and women and sent them home in boxes, broken in mind and/or body, or permanently disillusioned about their country and their leaders.

It wasn’t even over the past five years of lies, deceit, and outright treasonous collaboration with enemy actors to drag America and its people from the smoldering remains of its constitutional past into the gulag of global totalitarianism.

But when, between November 3rd and January 6th, the globalist elites stole both a Presidential election and two Senatorial elections to deliver complete control of all branches and levels of American governance into the hands of the techno-tyrannical Kommissars, it was finally time for resistance.

Read the whole thing. This, too.

Taking it all back

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

Starting this week and running through at least Inauguration Day, armed protests are being planned at all 50 state capitols and at the U.S. Capitol, according to an internal FBI bulletin obtained by ABC News.

The FBI has also received information in recent days on a group calling for “storming” state, local and federal government courthouses and administrative buildings in the event President Donald Trump is removed from office prior to Inauguration Day. The group is also planning to “storm” government offices in every state the day President-elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated, regardless of whether the states certified electoral votes for Biden or Trump.

“The FBI received information about an identified armed group intending to travel to Washington, DC on 16 January,” the bulletin read. “They have warned that if Congress attempts to remove POTUS via the 25th Amendment, a huge uprising will occur.”

As well it should. The part I like best of all I’ll put in bold:

Following the violent pro-Trump breach of the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday, Democratic lawmakers in the House of Representatives pushed forward Monday with an effort to get Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, which would declare Trump incapable of performing his presidential duties and would install Pence as acting president until Biden is inaugurated Jan. 20.

The effort was ultimately blocked by Republican Rep. Alex Mooney of West Virginia, and House Democrats then introduced an article of impeachment against Trump for “incitement of insurrection.”

The measure, which has more than 200 Democratic co-sponsors, states Trump has “demonstrated that he will remain a threat to national security, democracy and the Constitution if allowed to remain in office and has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law.

Delicious, innit? Demonrat scum are waxing all CONCERNED!!! about a purported “threat to national security, democracy, and the Constitution” all of a sudden—three things that they have never, EVER bothered themselves in the least about before. As for that “self-governance and the rule of law” guff? Don’t. Just…don’t. I mean it, don’t EVEN.

I ran this tune not too long ago, but recent events have rendered it truly evergreen.

The blood of patriots

Couldn’t come up with a way to improve on ZMan’s title, so I lifted it.

Yesterday, Ashli Babbitt was shot in the neck and died while protesting inside the Capitol with other protestors. A group of angry Trump supporters had got into the building and were making a racket. This is not an unusual occurrence. During the Kavanaugh hearings, Democrats organized mobs of screeching women to harass Republicans in the halls of the Capitol. Party media was there to celebrate it as the purest expression of democracy. It was power to the people time.

That was not the case yesterday, according to the media. Instead, it was a direct threat to “our” democracy. This is a bit ironic in that the protests are over the obvious corruption in the election system. The direct threat to democracy is the people demanding their elections be fair and honest. That’s why Ashli Babbitt was inside the Capitol making a racket. Her whole life she had been told this was how citizens angry at their government demand redress when the system fails.

That is how popular government is supposed to work. The people expect their government to be responsive to the will of the people. When they don’t like that they see, they vote for different people to hold office. If those politicians ignore the people, then the people go bang on their door and demand redress of their grievances. The politicians then come out and address their issues. That’s not it works now. Instead, they open fire on the people like they did yesterday.

Ashli Babbitt was not some drug-addled degenerate, like we saw last summer, when the ruling class unleashed their mobs on us. She was a veteran, serving 14 years in the US Air Force, and she was a high-level security official throughout her time in service. She was like most of the people at the protest, in that she had bought into what she was told about America. So much so she signed onto serve in the military and go overseas in various deployments.

Of course, unlike George Floyd, Ashli Babbitt will not get three nationally televised funerals and be treated as a fallen hero. That honor goes to drug-addled criminals who overdose in police custody. In this America, patriots who served their country and exercise their rights get gunned down by agents of the state. This woman, this patriot, bleeding out in the halls of the Capitol, murdered by an agent of the state, is the perfect image of what has gone terribly wrong in America.

No doubt, millions of decent people who sympathized with her cause are saddened by this terrible tragedy. It did not have to come to this. This was not an accident. This was not a terrible misfortune. The people on the other side of that door, the people who celebrate the murderer of Ashli Babbitt now, they did this. They created this crisis that threatens to plunge to country into a death spiral. They had choices and they had plenty of warning, but they refused to listen and now Ashli Babbitt is dead.

This is one of ZMan’s all-time best; my excessive excerpting notwithstanding, you’ll want to read all of it.

I’ve seen reports that the bloodthirsty, cowardly pig—a word I do NOT just lightly throw around, not ever—who wantonly murdered Ashli was either Capitol Police or, as Z says, a member of the traitor Pence’s security detail. Whatever the case may be, the filthy scum should be doxxed, then spend the rest of his abbreviated existence being hounded by other patriots at his very doorstep. And that’s just for starters. If I was Ashli’s poor husband, I would certainly dedicate the rest of my life to, as Sgt Barnes said in Platoon, taking a personal interest in seeing him suffer.

Via WRSA, Yon says this means war.

Michael is definitely a guy who would know one when he sees one. How terrible that, at this point, we must hope he’s right. But one way or another, by any means necessary, we cannot allow this woman to die in vain. We MUST not.

First blood

Ruthlessly murdered by DC Chekisti swine.

KUSI News confirms identity of woman shot and killed inside US Capitol
WASHINGTON (KUSI) — The woman who was shot and killed inside the US Capitol during the protests was from the San Diego area.

The woman is Ashli Babbit, a 14-year veteran, who served four tours with the US Air Force, and was a high level security official throughout her time in service.

Her husband says she was a strong supporter of President Trump, and was a great patriot to all who knew her.

Heartfelt condolences to her family; may flights of angels sing her to her eternal rest. Ashli should be remembered and revered for all time as a courageous martyr to the cause of freedom. She died fulfilling her oath to the Constitution; all Real Americans now bear the sacred duty of seeing to it that she is righteously avenged, her sacrifice redeemed in fullest measure. May God bless her sould and comfort her grieving loved ones.

AT LAST, IT’S HAPPENING

I’ve been watching the news from DC and fielding call after call from all kinds of people all day, but I wanted to at least get one post up on the storming of the Capitol building, evacuation of Congressional traitor scum, and the like. It’s a sad day, but also a great one. This is the beginning of real, meaningful change at long last, and I pray that it continues on for however long it takes to achieve a successful retaking of our nation. Godspeed to all those brave patriots who willingly placed themselves in harm’s way to be a part of this historic effort. May tomorrow morning find DC liberally strewn with Commie traitor corpses, all lit up by the flames of Mordor On The Potomac burning to the fucking ground.

Consider this a sort of catch-all open thread for the nonce, y’all. I’ll have more to say this evening, you betcher.

Laying down the law

They ain’t playing in Clay County, Fla.

Trust me, you don’t want to miss a word of this one, folks. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I’ll say it again: no matter how many cops like this guy there might be out there, we will never, ever have near enough of ’em.

Update! On the other hand.

A Black Lives Matter supporter attacked a Trump supporter this evening in Washington, leaving her face bruised and bloody. When other Trump supporters demonstrating for the president’s reelection struggle stepped in to protect the victim and request that the police arrest her assailant, the police responded by pepper spraying the entire group.

The DC Metro Police have repeatedly proven that the Blue Lives Matter movement must readjust their sights away from city cops. City cops are a different breed, they will cowardly follow the orders of Democrat mayors and stand down while cities burn, but they will quickly step into attack their own supporters.

Why defend them? Why pretend they are valiant heroes running into the Twin Towers?

GP reports on the only logical response:

A pro-Trump Marine went off on the DC Police after officers maced Stop the Steal protesters the night before Wednesday’s big rally.

Police have been using a very heavy hand with Trump supporters to protect the Antifa and Black Lives Matter militants who are gathered in BLM Plaza.

“You lost both sides of support. We had your f***ing back, but we ain’t got your back no more!” the man shouts.

Just as we can never have enough cops like that Florida sheriff, in certain parts of the country we are badly oversupplied with, y’know, the other kind.

An American President…for a change

A most rara of avises.

It had been so long since we had an American president, many people had forgotten what it was and should be like. And after decades of anti-American, cultural Marxist indoctrination in American schools and popular culture, others thought it was a terrible thing. Neo-Dem Never-Trumper William Kristol tweeted: “I’ll be unembarrassedly old-fashioned here: It is profoundly depressing and vulgar to hear an American president proclaim ‘America First.’”

No America-hating shitlib could’ve said it better, you vile bastard.

Yes, Trump was a braggart and a blusterer. Yes, he insulted people. Yes, he was often inarticulate. Yes, he showed none of the polish to which we have become accustomed from those who claim to be “experts” in how our government, and our daily lives, should be run. He was derided as an amateur, a non-expert, and he was: for some, that was one of the most important bases of his appeal. For Trump, unlike every other president going back to Reagan, and unlike most others before that going back to before Woodrow Wilson, dedicated his every act as president to putting Americans first and bettering their lives, and he wasn’t afraid to go against the conventional wisdom and decades of precedent to do so.

This often paid spectacular dividends. In June 2016, Barack Obama ridiculed Trump’s pledge to attract U.S. companies that had moved out of the country back to the United States, asking Trump, “What magic wand do you have?” Trump’s magic wand was an unprecedented initiative to cut regulations on businesses and drastically lower taxes.

It began to work immediately. Harry Moser of the Reshoring Initiative, which tracks jobs returning to the U.S. from companies that had relocated elsewhere, stated, “I’d say 300, 400 [companies], at least, announced in 2017” that they were returning. They brought jobs with them. In 2019, unemployment was at 3.5 percent, the lowest it had been since 1968. The Trump administration also set record lows for unemployment among blacks and Hispanics and record highs for the stock market. Trump proved the point that had been made in the 1920s and subsequently forgotten: lower taxes and fewer regulations mean that businesses can prosper, and when businesses prosper, so do the Americans whom they employ.

In foreign policy, though he was derided as “isolationist,” Trump brought about stunning and unprecedented peace deals between Israel and Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, and Morocco. John Kerry had smugly warned that no peace in the Middle East was possible without first setting up a Palestinian state and reducing an already tiny Israel; Trump once again proved the “experts” wrong.

There is a great deal more. Donald Trump became president when the nation had lost its way. He made herculean efforts to bring it back to what the Founding Fathers had intended it to be: a bastion of freedom. As Trump said: “I never forget, that I am not President of the world, I am President of the United States of America. We reject globalism and we embrace patriotism. We believe that every American citizen, no matter their background, deserves a government that is loyal to them. The Democrat Party and the extreme radical left are trying to abolish the distinction between citizens and non-citizens.”

Is it any wonder they were willing to go to such extreme lengths to get rid of him?

Can you blame ’em?

Can’t say as I do.

U.S. health care workers are first in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccine — but an alarming number across the country are refusing to do so.

Earlier this week, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine disclosed that about 60 percent of the nursing home workers in his state have so far chosen not to get vaccinated.

More than half of New York City’s EMS workers have shown skepticism, The Post reported last month.

And now California and Texas are experiencing a high rate of health care worker refusals, according to reports.

An estimated 50 percent of frontline workers in Riverside County in the Golden State opted against the drug, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing public health officials.

More than half of the hospital workers at California’s St. Elizabeth Community Hospital that were eligible to receive the vaccine did not, the newspaper.

And in the Lone Star State, a doctor at Houston Memorial Medical Center told NPR earlier this month that half the nurses in the facility would not get the vaccine, citing political reasons.

Well, let’s see now. Government “health” officials have lied about the Shamdemic from the beginning, and are still lying about it. The “vaccine” itself is an entirely new mRNA type, a significant departure from vaccines as traditionally conceived and understood. Its potential harmful effects—hell, even how it works, when it does at all—are closer to guesswork and assumption than hard science. Its long-term effects are unknown, and unknowable. Unlike other vaccines, the CDC admits that “At the moment I don’t believe we have the evidence of any of the vaccines to be confident that it’s going to prevent people from actually getting the infection and therefore being able to pass it on“—which is kinda what actual vaccines are, y’know, FOR.

Apart from the rush to market of this “vaccine”; inadequate testing; the government’s established record of deceit and manipulation; and the number of people keeling over dead after being “vaccinated,” there’s also the simple fact that people under 80 who don’t suffer from a serious disease or chronic condition have a near-100% chance of surviving THE VIRUS THE VIRUS THE VIRUS!™ without any “vaccine” anyway. Far as I’m concerned, anybody intent on forcing this one on me better bring plenty of help, as well as some stout cargo straps to hold me down. Because I ain’t gonna be taking it willingly.

FINALLY!

Not a moment too soon, either.

Pomp Hair Salon in Stockton California was raided by state officials who cited the salon for continuing operations. The subsequent misdemeanor citation comes from the state. However, local law enforcement and county prosecution say they will not participate in the enforcement mechanism.

This creates an unusual dynamic as the state has threatened to revoke licenses for the salon and the workers; but what “enforcement” action could the state undertake?

The issues highlighted here cover more than hair salons. Restaurants and bars are facing similar threats from regulatory agencies: Dept of Health, Bureau of Alcohol, etc. It is the regulatory issue that keeps many business owners in fear of defying COVID lock-downs.

If local officials break from state regulatory and compliance demands, there’s no precedent for what enforcement action a state might attempt to take unilaterally.

Would ideologically prone state governors attempt to send State Police to enforce their unilateral fiats and face a showdown with local law enforcement?

It is into this dynamic when everyone should remember the County Sheriff is the highest constitutional officer in the region. A county sheriff can nullify any outside law enforcement agency by simply not complying. This is a well known issue inside law enforcement.

This takes the blue state (totalitarianism) -vs- red state (freedom/liberty) issue into a more granular distinction. Within the Blue States there are likely to be contests of power between local and state officials. It is an interesting dynamic.

Oh, I’d say it’s a good bit more than just “interesting.” It’s vital, is what it is.

A man of the People

We cannot spare this man. He fights.

Once upon a time, there was a president called Ronald Reagan—a model of decency and probity, at once great and self-effacing, who, above all, was truly in love with America and saw it as his sacred mission to preserve and strengthen American freedom. During his eight-year tenure, he revitalized the U.S. economy, snapped us out of what his disastrous predecessor had referred to as “our malaise,” and helped bring down the Soviet Union.

Then he walked off into the sunset. And for the next seven presidential terms, we had to make do with mediocrity and self-dealing. Both parties were dominated by crime families—sorry, I mean political dynasties. The Bushes were uninspiring. The Clintons were pure slime.

The 1960s had introduced a toxic counterculture rooted in reflexive oikophobia. It had grown apace ever since. The Bushes did nothing to resist it; Clinton himself was very much a part of it. In a famous speech at the 1992 Republican convention, Pat Buchanan warned that America was in a “culture war”—a “war for the soul of America.”

He was right. But he identified the primary enemy as gays. In fact, the culture war had nothing to do with gays. It was about, among other things, professors who praised Marx and kids who wore Che t-shirts. After 9/11, it was also about people who, not knowing a thing about Islam, whitewashed it and claimed that America had deserved the jihadist attacks.

Buchanan’s speech was a great gift to the counterculturists: it enabled them to paint the GOP as a party not of freedom but of bigotry. He wasn’t alone. There were plenty of Republican politicians who, instead of being clear about the nature of the culture war, lazily played the anti-gay card.

Meanwhile the real enemy within grew apace, all but unopposed.

Then along came Barack Obama. He was the enemy within. His memoir Dreams from My Father suggested that he had far more affection for Kenya and Indonesia than for America. His mentor, Jeremiah Wright, was a virulent America-hater.

In the years that followed, the enemy within cemented its control over large swathes of academia, big business, and the news media. Poisonous academic notions about group identity, victimhood, oppression, and white supremacy went mainstream.

All seemed lost. Then Donald Trump came down that shiny escalator, introducing a campaign with a simple slogan: “America First.”

At first his candidacy looked like a stunt. But his performance in the primaries opened our eyes. For the first time since Reagan, we saw a worthwhile alternative to cowardly careerist politicians with no convictions and no cojones—pols who were, at worst, aggressively pushing a divisive, anti-American agenda and, at best, quietly overseeing America’s managed decline.

Media commentators, themselves products of the post-1960s counterculture, pronounced Trump a buffoon and a vulgarian; millions of Americans, however, looked at him and saw a potential savior—a real warrior who shared their love of America and who, it seemed, might just win the culture war.

On the contrary: I very much doubt all that many of us viewed him as a savior. In fact, quite a few of us, myself included, weren’t all that confident he’d be able to “win the culture war,” among other struggles. The war was too big—too many Enemy Within divisions occupying too many battlefields along too sprawling a front—for any realistic hope that one man might prevail.

We didn’t get behind Trump because we believed he’d win. We got behind him because we felt we could trust him to stand up and fight, that’s all. It seemed that, after decades of oleaginous GOPe grifters concealing their collaborationist con behind a smokescreen of empty promises and tough talk, Trump was serious about taking some swings. Perhaps he could even land a few solid blows here and there.

Real Americans finally had themselves a big-c Champion, a leader who was actually on their side for once, rather than just pretending to be. No, he wasn’t perfect. He made mistakes. He occasionally did or said things many of us didn’t agree with. And so what? After all the frustration, all the transparent insincerity, all the betrayal, we’d found an obstreperous pug who fully understood our interests and concerns, shared them himself, and was willing to openly take a stand for them without shame, apology, or throat-clearing. That’s all we wanted. That’s all that matters.

Trump was—s’cuse me, IS—a big, upraised middle finger from Real America, with a heartfelt FUCK YOU tattooed on it, directed at the whole sordid Swampful of corrupt belly-crawlers.

The GOPe traitors, the NeverTrumpTard swine, the oh-so-dainty Conservative Inc™ pundits who recoil in dismay and revulsion at the crude, gauche Orange Man’s buffoonery—they just don’t get him, any more than they get us. Which is just fine with me. Personally, I hope they never do. They SHOULDN’T get us; we are and of right ought to be forever beyond the ken of their ilk. If they ever somehow did figure us out, it would amount to a sure-fire warning that we’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere.

During his presidency, Trump has seemed almost to be acting alone, with members of his own administration and party lined up against him. Except in the final days of Richard Nixon’s presidency, when have we ever seen a president so alone? When in recent American history, except during the New York mayoralty of Rudy Giuliani, had so positive a turnaround been so obviously attributable to a single individual?

Yes, the idea of a country being saved by a single “great man” can be dangerous. In the last century, it led to the dictatorships of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and several others. But facts are facts: Trump, today, is America’s essential man. Though surrounded by enemies in the White House, on Capitol Hill, and all over Washington, he’s enjoyed an unprecedented level of public support.

Never—and this assertion seems unarguable—have so many Americans loved their president so much, or trusted him so implicitly, or been so certain of his genuine concern for their welfare. Watching Trump rallies on TV, I’ve often found myself thinking: if only Adams or Jefferson or Franklin could see this!

Because this wasn’t by any means a Communist-style cult of personality, with people feeling scared not to cheer. This was the real thing—a good thing—a democratically elected leader being applauded by ordinary citizens from every imaginable kind of background for keeping his promises and for serving his people.

It’s another reason they hate him so desperately: both for having exposed their incompetent charade, and for having won the People’s undying loyalty and affection because he did.
