Line in the sand: DRAWN

Not to prattle overmuch about this stuff, mind, but it seems to me that what Abbott has done with his defiant statement yesterday and his rock-steady refusal to allow CBP and DHS into Eagle Pass especially cannot be overstated. More on that anon; first, what our blog-bud Sefton has to say about the execrable Joaquin Castro is dead on the money.

First, Joaquin Castro is an insidious, rabid racialist and Marxist who has a hate on for America as founded. See his full rap sheet here via the invaluable Discover the Networks. He’s a huge fan of what is known as la Reconquista, the reconquest of much of the western United States he feels stolen by the Yanquis from Mexico. Much of that crap comes from a pseudo political and totally racist hate group known as “La Raza,” “The Race” in English, which his mother was/is intimately involved in. Don’t bother looking it up as a group being monitored by the SPLC or the DOJ. And yet “replacement theory” is crazy talk, right? Funny, La Raza rhymes with Gaza. But I digress.

Second, the gall of this puta madre to claim Abbott is responsible for the chaos on the border is off the charts. But, that’s a hallmark of Leftists. Projection. And Joe Manchin is a clueless douchebag. Biden and his handlers have intentionally erased our borders and fomented an invasion of the numerical equivalent of one of the largest armies in the world. The chaos, dislocation, criminal violence and potentially terrorist violence, individually or as one or more mass events, that is being unleashed and soon to be unleashed is the greatest national security threat the American people have ever faced.

Amen to every word of it, right down the line. I saw someplace or other that fake Hispanic Bobby “Beto” O’Rourke has put his oar in as well, with a similar plea for Biden to hurry up and federalize the TNG quick before something truly awful happens—like, say, Texas re-establishing and securing its southern border or something. No link, because fuck his stupid, grubby ass. As if anybody gives a fudgy fart what “Beto” thinks about anything anyhow.

Meanwhile, this happened:

Beautiful!

Whatever you may think about Abbott’s sincerity and backbone, the takeaway is this: things like this have a way of expanding way beyond the original intentions of those who first put the machine in motion, sometimes even against the originators’ wishes. That’s exactly what I see happening here; by r’aring up on his hind legs and defying a patently illegitimate rogue government, Abbott has enheartened and inspired the US subject-population in ways that are likely to generate results which cannot be predicted or controlled—not by Abbott, not by Biden, not by Biden’s FederalGovCo puppeteers, not by anybody.

All across the nation (even New Hampshire, ferchrissakes!), millions of fed-up Real Americans have been anxiously waiting for this historic moment, both dreading it and praying for it. At long last, it has arrived…thanks mostly to one Governor Greg Abbott. Call him a “cuck,” call him faithless and unreliable, call him whatever you like. It doesn’t matter now; where those put-upon millions take this is now completely out of his hands. Those of us who have long and intently studied it know that history can be funny like that sometimes.

Like all conflagrations, it needed but a single spark to set this blaze off—a spark which can often come from seemingly unlikely tinder. Down the years, it will be interesting indeed to learn if Abbott’s pivotal role will even be remembered by any but serious historians. At this point, there’s just one sure thing: when one sets out to ride a tiger, the tiger will assuredly go where HE wants to go, without reference to his pipsqueak passenger’s opinions regarding course, destination, distance, or speed.

As for those urging that Abbott the “cuck” not be trusted, that it’s all just another ploy or “trap,” I repeat: this isn’t about Abbott anymore, it’s out of his hands, or at least will be very soon. He may have started it, but it’s much bigger than any single man or personality; it will be up to Real Americans to finish it. Which, actually, is exactly as it should be.

Update! More on that declaration of support from 25 governors.

Governor Abbott has been a vocal critic of the Biden administration’s immigration policies, which he believes have encouraged a surge in illegal border crossings. In response, he has implemented a series of measures to strengthen border security, including deploying the Texas National Guard to the border and constructing additional fencing.

The Biden administration has sought to counter these efforts by challenging the legality of the state’s actions and attempting to remove border fencing in certain areas. However, the 25 Republican governors have pledged to stand by Governor Abbott and the state of Texas in their fight to secure the border.

In their joint statement, the governors argue that “the Biden Administration has attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country.” They further assert that “we do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally.”

The governors also point to their previous efforts to address the border crisis, including sending personnel and resources to Texas and Arizona through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC).

The support of these 25 Republican governors underscores the growing divide between the Biden administration and many state leaders on the issue of border security. As the battle over the border continues, it remains to be seen whether Governor Abbott and his allies will be able to maintain their efforts to secure the border in the face of opposition from the federal government.

Indeed it does. We haven’t reached a tipping point quite yet, but if the groundswell of righteous defiance continues and we all stand fast against the lawless Biden/Shadow State junta, rejection and resistance could intensify into outright rebellion faster than anyone imagines.

The saddest part of all is that it never should have come to this in the first damned place. There is simply no plausible argument to be made here that the Biden junta and its pig-ignorant supporters are in the right, nor that their heedless criminality proceeds from good intentions. The US Constitution, black-letter law both federal and state, and plain, ordinary old common sense all say otherwise, flatly and unequivocally. Should the open-borders malefactors persist, they will force a physical confrontation that they cannot win with liberty-minded patriots who have nothing left to lose.

MOAR Abbott!

Since I already tacked an update onto Barry’s earlier post, I’ll just let this revoltin’ development have its own main-page spot.

President Biden Urged to Seize Texas National Guard – Joe Manchin Calls for National Emergency
On Wednesday, Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX) called on President Biden to “seize” the Texas National Guard by calling them into Federal service, removing them from the command and control of the State of Texas. This is presumably in response to Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s defiant tone towards the Biden Administration on closing the border.

A Texas congressman has urged President Biden to take the state’s National Guard under federal control if Republican Governor Greg Abbott defies a Supreme Court ruling allowing federal agents to remove razor wire from a section of the U.S.-Mexico border.

The call was made by Democratic Representative Joaquin Castro after Abbott posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying the Texas National Guard would continue to “hold the line in Eagle’s Pass,” a popular migrant crossing point, stating: “Texas will not back down from our efforts to secure the border in Biden’s absence.”

Castro re-shared Abbott’s post on his own X account, adding: “Governor Greg Abbott is using the Texas National Guard to obstruct and create chaos at the border.

As of this writing, there has been no action on this by the Biden Administration.

Astoundingly despicable, even for the D卐M☭CRATs. Which, my friends, is really saying something at this point.

This idea by Rep. Castro raises some interesting questions:

  1. Were the President to activate the Texas National Guard under Title 10, what would their orders be? To assist federal officers in throwing open the gates?
  2. What happens if members of the Texas National Guard refuse activation and instead continue to follow the orders of TX-ANG officers and Governor Abbott?
  3. What if the Texas Guard splits, and former comrades end up facing each other across that red line?
  4. If the Pentagon sends federal troops, how willing are they going to be to confront other Americans to allow the continued invasion of the country?
  5. Is there any possibility that there may be open conflict between Texas and federal officials?

I’m no wild-eyed conspiracy theorist, but this is the kind of thing that civil wars start over.

It is at that, but it brings other questions to mind: Is there really no extreme to which these lackwits will not go to ensure the Southern border remains wide open and unpoliced? Does despoiling and destroying the nation really mean that much to them? Or is it more that they really do WANT to spark a civil war? Ultimately, is that really the primary goal here?

So far, we know that they find the very idea behind the “Make America Great Again” slogan repellent, intolerable, grotesquely offensive. And now, we also know they find the idea of a secure, orderly national border equally objectionable, perhaps even more so. To Normal Americans, neither of these wholly innocuous, once-mainstream concepts ought even to be matters of controversy and/or discord at all. Until quite recently, they were simply taken as read—fundamental, mundane, even trivial “givens” subscribed to by all Americans who weren’t actually howling-at-the-moon mad—things youngsters discussed in grade-school civics classes, not touchy, explosive topics for sensible adults to scream themselves into purple-faced aneurysms over.

Note ye well, also, that it is America and America alone that frothing Lefty loons demand be utterly without a national border; maybe I missed it somehow, but I can’t recollect ever hearing these freaks foaming at the mouth over Germany, or Sweden, or Spain, or New Zealand having one, and deciding for themselves who is and is not allowed to cross it.

Likewise another facile, elementary precept: that of “the national interest.” Every other nation-state on earth has ‘em, a fact which doesn’t seem to disturb these nutjobs in the least, not even when said nation-states actively pursue and promote them in their interactions with other countries. The FUSA, though? Don’t even think about it, you rotten, evil, hateful ReichWingNaziHitlerDeathbeasts, you.

What we’re talking about here are the basic concepts which define nationhood itself, absent which…well, you simply aren’t one, that’s all. This goes well beyond mere stupidity; it’s actual, literal insanity—insanity not as metaphor or allusion or rhetorical device, but clinical, textbook mental pathology. A fair few of what we used to call “dextrosphere” bloggers were fond of a slogan one of us OGs, can’t remember who, coined years and years ago: liberalism delenda est. We all snickered over that one; who could have imagined it would turn out to be not just our little in-joke, but a cold, hard, real-world fact?

Civil war, eh? Yet another in a seemingly endless parade of horribles forced upon reasonable, peaceable, good-hearted folks all unwilling by a pack of rabid, mentally-deranged jackals who are constitutionally incapable of leaving anybody and/or anything alone. Once more, with feeling: careful what you wish for, shitlibs. Keep on pushing and pushing like this, and you just might get yourself one—more of it than you’ll like. I promise you, you won’t enjoy it. Calls for a rerun from last week’s Memezapoppin’! collection, I believe.

‘Nuff said.

LEADERSHIP

REAL leadership, that is: what it looks like, what it sounds like, what it, y’know, IS. Seeing how thoroughly we’ve lost touch with the concept here in Amerika v2.0 and all.

Milei is much man, standing up to these 99 and 44/100ths pure E-ville motherfuckers right to their very faces like this; God knows he’s bound to have moved up several places on the hit-lists you know people like this keep, and meticulously update when circumstances such as these require it. But God also surely knows that every last syllable he utters in the above video—a must-watch if ever there was one—is perfectly true and accurate.

Two strategies, one issue

And only one of those approaches to handling it is sensible, Constitutionally-permissible, and non-treasonous. First, Texas Governor Abbott’s and AG Paxton’s.

BORDER SHOWDOWN: Texas to Defy Biden Admin’s Order to Give Feds Access to Park Along Rio Grande
EAGLE PASS, Texas — As of Wednesday afternoon, Army National Guard soldiers remain posted at temporary gates erected at the entrance to a city-owned park along the Rio Grande. The park was seized by order of Texas Governor Greg Abbott and closed off to Border Patrol agents unless their entrance into the area is first coordinated with state law enforcement and the Texas Military Department.

The state appears to be standing firm as a Biden administration deadline of “the end of the day” for the state to remove the gates and allow unimpeded access to the Border Patrol approaches. General Counsel Jonathan Meyer, on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security, communicated it to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a letter on January 10.

As reported by Breitbart Texas, the DHS letter to Paxton was sent in response to the seizure of Shelby Park a few days earlier under a Texas statute for law enforcement and disaster relief purposes by Abbott in response to the border crisis impacting his state. The DHS letter to Paxton cited the statutory authority granted to Border Patrol agents to patrol private lands within 25 miles of the border without a warrant. The letter warned the state was impeding the federal agents with the seizure of the property and the conditions placed upon the Border Patrol for entry.

In response to the demands made by the Department of Homeland Security in Counsel Meyer’s demand to grant unimpeded access to the Border Patrol, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton responded in a letter on Wednesday. In his response to DHS, Paxton disputed the arguments made in their cease and desist letter, saying:

Texas allows prompt entry into Shelby Park by any U.S. Border Patrol personnel responding to a medical emergency, and this access is not “limited to use of the boat ramp,” as you say. TMD has ordered its Guardsmen not to impede lifesaving care for aliens who illegally cross the Rio Grande. To that end, TMD has erected gates that allow for rapid admission when federal personnel communicate the existence of some medical exigency.

Paxton went on to say:

President Biden has been warned in a series of letters, one of them hand-delivered to him in El Paso, that his sustained dereliction of duty in securing the border is illegal. By instructing your agency and others to ignore federal immigration laws, he has breached the guarantee, found in Article IV, § 4 of the U.S. Constitution, that the federal government “shall protect each of [the States] against Invasion.”

The battle over control of the park now finds the City of Eagle Pass, who opposes the state seizure of Shelby Park, and the federal government on the same side of the issue. When the Secure Fence Act was passed in 2006, the city battled with the federal government over the construction of the border fencing, which would ultimately leave Shelby Park inside the border fence and walled off from the city.

Then-President George W. Bush signed the 2006 bipartisan fence bill after passage with the support of 80 senators, including then-senate and future presidents Joseph Biden and Barrack Obama. Democrat Senators Chuck Schumer and Hilary Clinton also supported the measure. Ultimately, the city lost its bid to prevent the construction of a 1.8-mile, 14-foot-tall border fence was constructed.

SO. One side in this dispute—let’s call them the Real American Patriots, or RAPs, for short—seeks to re-establish and maintain the basic, fundamental right of the citizens of the great Republic of Texas to a secure, safe, and well-protected southern border. The other—let’s call them Evil America-hating Traitor Scum, or EAhTS—consists of RINO George, Pedo Pete Bribem, Ogabe, Schemer, Her Herness™, the CBP/FederalGovCo, and city officials of Eagle Pass, who seek to subject not only the decent, hard-working citizens of Texas but the entire nation to an unrestricted invasion of hordes of unvetted, unassimilated, disease-rife illegal aliens from all over the (Third) world across a wide-open, unguarded border-in-name-only.

Thankfully, though, we can trust the Republican’ts in Washington to stand up for us against the Swamp traitors of the D卐M☭CRAT Party, right? Right?

RIIIGHT?!?

Um. Yeah, about that.

McConnell Ally John Thune Pushes Senate Open Borders Deal: ‘Unique Moment in Time’
Sen. John Thune (R-SD) has locked arms with President Joe Biden in calling for a deal to surrender to unlimited migration that would include tens of billions in foreign aid to Ukraine.

The retreat would hand the White House a key election year win and surrender the best leverage Republicans have had in decades to make substantive changes in border policies that could alleviate one of the American people’s greatest concerns potentially for generations.

Senate negotiators have led efforts for months to pair some sort of border security package with billions of supplemental funding, primarily to advance Ukraine’s floundering war efforts against Russia. The war has been deadlocked for almost a year, with untold hundreds of billions spent and countless lives lost.

Yet hesitancy for more foreign aid and demands for a truly substantive border package from Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) Republican House led to the search for a compromise on the two issues.

Leaded details of the deal, which essentially amount to a surrender at the border, have received widespread condemnation, with Johnson indicating he will not move that bill through the House.

On Wednesday, Biden is hosting Congressional leaders at the White House to flex his muscles and pressure Johnson to surrender.

Thune’s latest position appears supportive of Biden’s tactics, insisting that the leaked deal is worth supporting.

God bless Mike Johnson for standing firm, so far at at any rate. God damn the loathsome John Thune and all who sail in him straight to Hell for selling Real Americans and their best interests down the river—the Rio Grande, specifically.

Heh. Good one, JJ.

Update! And while we’re making with the memes, a great one from WRSA.

Excellent questions all, especially that last. And to think, the liars STILL try to tell us that Replacement Theory is just some crazy-ass “conspiracy theory” adhered to only by mopes, dopes, losers, lunatics, and wild-eyed “insurrectionist” zealots.

Lots of good ‘uns at CA’s Thursday Early Edition, several of which will be turning up in next week’s Memezapoppin’ and Screamin’ meemie Monday posts, you betcher. In fact, the backlog on Ye Aulde Harde Drive is now so completely out of control I’m considering making tomorrow’s Eyrie offering a meme post too.

The great Justice Clarence Thomas

A good and decent man whose understanding of the Constitution as written by our Founding Fathers is matched only by his abiding reverence for it, we are fortunate indeed to have him on the Court.

Clarence Thomas and Me
To speak as a black man at odds with the consensus of other blacks can be burdensome—and liberating.

Clarence Thomas is a black American icon. There is no more American story, and no blacker story, than his. We should celebrate him as a living embodiment of this nation’s greatness, given his rise from the challenging circumstances of his upbringing—poverty, segregation, colorism, linguistic alienation—to holding a seat on the Supreme Court. Excluding Thomas from any history of African-descended people in this country would render it incomplete,  just as ignoring his influence would leave any history of the current Court incomplete.

Justice Clarence Thomas is unquestionably a towering figure in American jurisprudence. As Scott Douglas Gerber, a leading authority on his legal theories, has noted, Thomas’s impact on constitutional law over the last quarter-century has been stunning. His long-standing views have carried the day in major cases. He has stuck to his principles in his three decades on the Court, and it has paid off. Thus, his insistence that the Commerce Clause does not empower the federal government to regulate everything under the sun is now the law. His position that federal agencies should have relatively restricted power is now the law. His view that the Second Amendment means what it says, and that individuals have a fundamental right to carry firearms, is now the law. His conviction that no constitutional right to an abortion exists is now the law. And, perhaps most poignantly, his passionately articulated view that the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause forbids racial preferences in higher-education admissions decisions is now the law. Indeed, his principled stance that the Court’s job is to discern the original understanding of the constitutional provision at issue in a case has become the Court’s dominant approach. One could even plausibly hold that this is now Justice Thomas’s Supreme Court, not Chief Justice John Roberts’s. Thomas is its longest-serving sitting member, and his legacy will continue well after his time on the bench is over, as many of his former clerks are now federal judges themselves.

And yet, despite his now-undeniable skill as a jurist and judge, Thomas finds himself the target of criticism that differs in kind from that reserved for the Court’s other conservative justices. One expects public disagreement with his most controversial opinions; we should welcome intellectually rigorous dissent, for no one can test the validity of ideas without it. But too often, critics attack not Thomas’s ideas but the man himself—and this is especially true of black critics, who regard him not merely as mistaken but as a traitor who has forfeited his status as “authentically black.” For them, he is an Iago-like figure, driven by a perverse impulse to degrade African Americans. The quasi-religious conviction that Thomas’s reasoned defense of capitalism, color blindness, and individual liberty amounts to a disgust for his fellow blacks is, in my view, the outcome of a projected disgust for Thomas himself.

Most close observers of Thomas’s place in American life are accustomed to this reaction. Nobody blinks, for example, when Ibram X. Kendi issues yet another broadside against yet another of Thomas’s perceived sins. As far back as 2013, before Kendi was crowned the arbiter of racial goodthink, he questioned how a man like Thomas could hold the opinions he does. Writing of Thomas’s concurring opinion in Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin, Kendi finds that the justice is “either being blatantly dishonest” in his comparison of affirmative action and de jure racial segregation or that he has a “blatant inability to decipher, to assess and to judge.” It could not be that Thomas is intellectually capable of coming to this conclusion and that he believes it. What black person who grew up in segregated Georgia could? (Never mind that Kendi misreads Thomas’s opinion, accusing him of questioning the sincerity of the University of Texas’s position on diversity, while believing the sincerity of segregationists’ “separate but equal” doctrine. Thomas clearly disbelieves both.)

This tendency to respond to Thomas by questioning either his honesty or his competence has been a through-line for his critics for decades. Thomas himself noted the phenomenon in his speech before the National Bar Association in 1998. At the time, he regularly heard the charge that he was merely following Antonin Scalia’s lead rather than working out his own conclusions about cases before the Court. Thomas remarked:

With respect to my following, or, more accurately, being led by other members of the Court, that is silly, but expected, since I couldn’t possibly think for myself. And what else could possibly be the explanation when I fail to follow the jurisprudential, ideological and intellectual, if not anti-intellectual, prescription assigned to blacks. Since thinking beyond this prescription is presumptively beyond my abilities, obviously someone must be putting these strange ideas into my mind and my opinions. Though being underestimated has its advantages, the stench of racial inferiority still confounds my olfactory nerves.

Thomas was right to point to the racist undercurrent that flowed through questions about his competence and independence. Only a failure of intellect, of courage, of race pride, or some deeper, unnamed corruption could account for his departure from the “common sense” of his tribe. Such an attitude ironically demonstrated the soundness of Thomas’s long-standing critique of affirmative action—that it made its beneficiaries, whatever their objective merits, appear less competent than their white peers. Here was Thomas, a beneficiary of affirmative action at Holy Cross and Yale Law School, encountering the exact questions about his abilities that he worried could haunt any black person as long as affirmative action persisted.

Who asked those questions? Some whites, yes. If we are being generous, perhaps they could be forgiven for asking—if only in their minds—the questions that affirmative action suggested. But shouldn’t blacks know better? We know that the best of us are just as good, just as smart, just as competent as the best of everyone else. So why were so many blacks eager to unleash against Thomas the very tropes about inferiority that had dogged us for centuries?

Because the “Uncle Tom” mythos is so indelibly ingrained in the “liberal” psyche it’s damned near reflexive by now, a near-instinctual reaction to every black man like Justice Thomas who dares to abandon the D卐M☭CRAT intellectual plantation and think for himself—a mythos reaching far enough to ensnare blacks who have been brainwashed by dogmatic Left-liberalism, as so many others have, in its fetid toils to this very day.

I repeat: Real Americans are most fortunate to have him on the USSC, but we’re hardly the only ones to benefit: the US Constitution itself is fortunate to have as staunch, able, and wise a defender and protector as Justice Clarence Thomas on its side. A little of the backstory for those younger folks who weren’t around for it, or for any of us greybeards who might have forgotten.

Thomas was born in Pin Point, Georgia. After his father abandoned the family, he was raised by his grandfather in a poor Gullah community near Savannah. Growing up as a devout Catholic, Thomas originally intended to be a priest in the Catholic Church but was frustrated over the church’s insufficient attempts to combat racism. He abandoned his aspiration of becoming a clergyman to attend the College of the Holy Cross and, later Yale Law School, where he was influenced by a number of conservative authors, notably Thomas Sowell. Upon graduating, he was appointed as an assistant attorney general in Missouri and later entered private practice there. He became a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator John Danforth in 1979, and was made Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education in 1981. President Ronald Reagan appointed Thomas as Chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) the next year.

President George H. W. Bush nominated Thomas to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in 1990. He served in that role for 19 months before filling Marshall’s seat on the Supreme Court. Thomas’s confirmation hearings were bitter and intensely fought, centering on an accusation that he had sexually harassed Anita Hill, a subordinate at the Department of Education and the EEOC. Hill alleged that Thomas made multiple sexual and romantic overtures to her despite her repeatedly telling him to stop; Thomas and his supporters alleged that Hill and her political supporters had fabricated the accusation to prevent the appointment of a black conservative. The Senate confirmed Thomas by a vote of 52–48, the narrowest margin in a century.

Since the death of Antonin Scalia, Thomas has been the Court’s foremost originalist, stressing the original meaning in interpreting the Constitution. In contrast to Scalia—who had been the only other consistent originalist—he pursues a more classically liberal variety of originalism. Thomas was known for his silence during most oral arguments, though has since begun asking more questions to counsel. He is notable for his majority opinions in Good News Club v. Milford Central School (determining the freedom of religious speech in relation to the First Amendment) and New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen (affirming the individual right to bear arms outside the home), as well as his dissent in Gonzales v. Raich (arguing that Congress may not criminalize the private cultivation of medical marijuana). He is widely considered to be the Court’s most conservative member. Thomas has accepted luxury trips and gifts from Harlan Crow, a wealthy Republican donor, for two decades since at least 2004 and failed to report them.

The above having been culled from shitlib Wikipedia *GAG SPIT*, it’s no surprise that they’d just HAVE to get that last little dig in as if it amounted to a goddamned thing, anymore than the patently spurious Hill smear-job attempt did. Nice try, ya fucktards.

Having risen above the initial controversy of his appointment and confirmation to assume the mantle of a true titan of American jurisprudence, Clarence Thomas is hands-down the greatest USSC Justice we’ve had in my lifetime, probably of ALL time. Long may he live and continue to serve; we shan’t see his like again.

Feisty, fearless, forthright

Don’t know much at all about him, not giving three whoops in Hell about the farcical 2024 Presidential “election” contest, but I gotta say: every time I read another attempted GOTCHA! story quoting the guy he leaves me nodding along in complete agreement.

In a fiery exchange last month, CNN anchorwoman Abby Phillip told GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy that there was “no evidence” to support his claim that federal agents abetted protesters at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Ramaswamy shot back that the FBI conspicuously has never denied that law enforcement agents were on duty in the crowd. He argued that federal officials have repeatedly “lied” to the American people about not only that investigation but one that has gotten much less attention: the alleged failed plot to kidnap and kill Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan in 2020.

“It was entrapment,” Ramaswamy said. “FBI agents putting them up to a kidnapping plot that we were told was true but wasn’t.”

His zeroing in on the Michigan case highlighted an uncharacteristic development in contemporary politics, where progressives vigorously defend law enforcement power while conservatives view it with deep suspicion. Further, Ramaswamy’s linking of Jan. 6 and the Whitmer plot resonated with many on the right who want similarities between the two episodes exposed to the general public, especially the FBI’s reliance on informants and other paid operatives.

Our Gal Jules then dons the wet-suit, snorkel mask, and fins for a deep dive into the Superstate Stasi’s phonus-balonus Whitler “kidnapping” piss-puddle in her usual impeccably-thorough fashion.

As for Ramaswamy, although I gravely doubt his ability to A) get “elected,” and B) get anything useful accomplished even if he did, still, his heart sure seems to be in the right place at least, and God bless him for it. He’s not afraid to speak bluntly about topics the rest of the Vichy GOPe field shies away from like startled mustangs; better, he seems to be constitutionally incapable of taking a second’s worth of shit from slime-encrusted “journalist” bubbleheads, understanding as he obviously does that they’re going to mangle and/or manipulate whatever he says to promote the Press-Gaggle Panic O’ The Week© anyway.

Best of all, Vivek unblenchingly expounds on things you really don’t hear mentioned by anyone else, on either side—GOOD things, IMPORTANT things that not so long ago were universally-accepted American first principles that have become so objectionable nowadays they get any unevolved naif who so much as moots them for discussion—in any tone other than either horrified disapproval or snickering, supercilious disdain at the absurd ideas these subnormal provincials are willing to swallow—hysterically denounced as a “dangerous” “radical” “extremist” seeking to overthrow Our Sacred Democracy in favor of a dystopian-nightmare dictatorship.

Following his ritual denunciation, our witless knuckledragger will be Doxxed, Cancelled, ruined personally, socially, and financially, exiled from Polite Society, busted down to the lowly rank of Permanent Pariah—effectively, a sentence of life without possibility of either parole or pardon summarily handed down not just to him but his family along with him.

As if it wasn’t a dictatorship already, the contemptible cretins. But since FederalGovCo is a dictatorship conceived, installed, and run entirely by them, well hey, it’s okay, I guess. There are two distinct flavors of dictatorship, apparently. Given how fond shitlibs are of endlessly reminding one and all that they’re the Good People and all who dare to cherish divergent opinions assuredly are not, the dichotomy of dictatorship is as follows: Theirs=GOOD. Ours=BAD. According to them, this is a vitally crucially vital distinction to make.

Is it any wonder, then, that young Vivek hasn’t the slightest chance of becoming President in Amerika v2.0?

THAT’S how you do it!

Effing BRILLIANT.

Good on you, sir. Via WRSA. Backstory and further details here.

Update! Ruminations on the Cassidy saga from Bayou Peter.

Speaking as a Christian and a retired pastor, I entirely approve of Mr. Cassidy’s actions. I would have contributed to his legal defense fund, except that it was shut down within three hours due to being oversubscribed. Clearly, many Americans feel the same as I do about him, which pleases me.

On Tuesday, “Gov. Kim Reynolds called the display ‘absolutely objectionable’ but said that ‘in a free society, the best response to objectionable speech is more speech’.” I agree with him, of course. Freedom of religion is constitutional, and should remain so. Equally, Mr. Cassidy is, IMHO, correct that any of the Founding Fathers, confronted with the same display, would do as he did, or take even stronger action. The Satanic Temple can protest all it likes that it doesn’t actually worship Satan as he is described in the Christian Bible, but is rather an atheist organization using that name. Nevertheless, the generally accepted understanding of Satan in all three of the great monotheistic religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam – is as the root of all evil, a being from whom grace and goodness are utterly absent. They need not be surprised if people act on that understanding.

Most of all, I applaud Mr. Cassidy for his honesty. He acted, then took responsibility for his actions, and is prepared to stand trial for acting on his beliefs. Good for him! If his legal defense fund opens up again, I’ll be standing in line to contribute.

Much more at the link, all of it intriguing, thought-provoking stuff, as is BRM’s usual wont.

More Important – Trump Plan to Shatter the Deep State

“First, I will immediately reissue my 2020 executive order restoring the president’s authority to remove rogue bureaucrats, and I will wield that power very aggressively.

“Second, we will clean out all of the corrupt actors in our national security and intelligence apparatus, and there are plenty of them. The departments and agencies that have been weaponized will be completely overhauled so that faceless bureaucrats will never again be able to target and persecute conservatives, Christians, or the left’s political enemies, which they’re doing now at a level that nobody can believe even possible.

“Third, we will totally reform FISA courts, which are so corrupt that the judges seemingly do not care when they are lied to in warrant applications. So many judges have seen so many applications that they know were wrong or at least they must have known. They do nothing about it.

“Fourth, to expose the hoaxes and abuses of power that have been tearing our country apart, we will establish a truth and reconciliation Commission to declassify and publish all documents on deep state spying, censorship, and corruption, and there are plenty of them.

“Fifth, we will launch a major crackdown on government leakers who collude with the fake news to deliberately weave false narratives to subvert our government and our democracy. When possible, we will press criminal charges.

“Sixth, we will make every inspector general’s office independent and physically separated from the departments they oversee so they do not become the protectors of the deep state.

“Seventh, I will ask Congress to establish an independent auditing system to continually monitor our intelligence agencies to ensure they are not spying on our citizens or running disinformation campaigns against the American people or that they are not spying on someone’s campaign like they spied on my campaign.

“Eight, we will continue the effort launched by the Trump administration to move parts of the sprawling federal bureaucracy to new locations outside the Washington swamp just as I moved the Bureau of Land Management to Colorado. As many as 100,000 government positions could be moved out, and I mean immediately of Washington to places filled with patriots who love America, and they really do love America.

“Ninth, I will work to ban federal bureaucrats from taking jobs at the companies they deal with and that they regulate. So they deal with these companies, and they regulate these companies, and then they want to take jobs from these companies. It doesn’t work that way. Such, a public display cannot go on, and it’s taking place all the time, like with big pharma.

“Finally [Tenth], I will push a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on members of Congress. This is how I will shatter the deep state and restore government that is controlled by the people and for the people.”

Can’t get enough of that Donald Trump stuff

Wayne Root submits an increasingly pertinent question.

How Did Trump Become Superman, Batman, Elvis & the Beatles Rolled into One?
Trump isn’t just winning big in America…he’s spreading!

A Trump clone (Javier Milei) was just elected as President of Argentina. A Trump clone (Geert Wilders) was just elected as the leader of Netherlands. A Trump clone (Conor McGregor) is the new nationalist hero of Ireland, defending the Irish people from foreign invasion- and he may also become the next Prime Minister.

A Trump clone was even elected Mayor of Charleston, South Carolina this week- the first Republican elected since 1877.

You’ve heard the song, “I’m turning Japanese, I really think so.” Well, the new hit single is “The whole world is turning Trump, I really think so.” Everywhere in America and all over the world, Trump is spreading.

Did you see President Trump entering the arena for UFC two weeks ago? It was one of the most amazing, exhilarating sports entrances ever. 20,000 fans went insane screaming for Trump. It was like the Beatles arriving in America in 1964.

Did you see President Trump entering the football stadium last Saturday for the South Carolina-Clemson college football game? When Trump walked into the stadium the crowd was even more hysterical than the UFC crowd. It was like they were witnessing Elvis return from the dead. 80,000 fans went wild for Trump- screaming his name and chanting “USA, USA, USA.” It was literally one of the most exciting scenes in sports history.

Keep in mind this wasn’t a political convention. These weren’t Republicans. This was a mainstream football game. And the audience was mostly college students. No politician in U.S. history has ever elicited a reaction like this.

Trump is no longer a man. He is a superhero to a vast swath of America.

Polls confirm that something special is happening. Trump is beating Biden in virtually every poll at Real Clear Politics. Trump is winning in every battleground state. Trump is winning among youth. Trump is leading among minority men. And if Trump is winning the popular vote, that means he’s winning an electoral landslide.

This is happening while Trump is under four federal and state indictments, facing 91 felony counts, and over 700 years in prison.

Trump is doing the best in polls in history. In all the years since he came down the escalator in 2015, Trump has rarely led in polls, anywhere.

Trump voters are always under-counted in polls. That’s why Trump was always trailing Hillary in 2016. Yet Trump won. Trump was always trailing Biden throughout 2019 and 2020- nationally and in most battleground states. Yet Trump added 12 million new votes. He got the most votes of any sitting president in history.

We all know Trump won the 2020 election. Democrats had to rig and cheat with fake mail-in ballots in six key battleground states to overcome huge Trump leads on Election Night that would have given Trump an electoral landslide.

But now for the first time in history, Trump is winning in every poll.

How dramatically have things changed? Trump was just endorsed by a co-Founder of BLM.

How did Trump go from supposedly “unpopular” “washed up” and “the GOP’s past” to superhero, Superman, Batman, Elvis and the Beatles rolled into one, while under nonstop criminal indictment? The answers are simple…

Follows, a rundown of those answers, which are indeed simple enough. But in the end, they all boil down to just one:

Thank you, Democrats. You built this Trump superhero.

Heh. Credit the DC Swamp malefactors and their Woke Corporate Amerika Inc criminal co-conspirators with an assist, but…pretty much, yeppers. You just know that’s gotta smart a bit, and it couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of assholes if you ask me.

Sanctuary city county

About damned time.

Town Forms Militia to Resist Whitmer’s Gun Control Laws
The Second Amendment reads, “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the people’s right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” We who oppose gun control tend to recognize that nothing in the introductory clause negates that whole “shall not be infringed” bit.

A lot of other people focus on that first part, arguing that “well regulated” means the same thing today as it did back then. Some will even say that if you want a gun, you should join a militia.

Now, they mean the National Guard, but they failed to be specific and that’s on them.

In Michigan, though, gun control laws seem to be rolling steadily down the line. One town, however, is in that “shall not be infringed” camp and declared itself a Second Amendment sanctuary. They also formed their own “well regulated militia” to try and make it stick.

A township in Muskegon County has declared itself a Second Amendment sanctuary and created a maximally inclusive militia in hopes of protecting citizens’ constitutional rights from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s gun control laws.

…The resolution stated that “the Constitution of the United States is the supreme law of our nation; … the Second Amendment to the Constitution states, ‘A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed’; and … the United States Supreme Court has affirmed that the right of an individual to ‘keep and bear arms,’ as protected under the Second Amendment, is incorporated by the Due Process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment against the states.”

Noting that board members will remain steadfast in upholding the the U.S. and Michigan constitutions and oppose “any law that would unconstitutionally restrict the rights of the citizens of Holton Township to keep and bear arms,” the resolution called for the technical establishment of a militia.

Accordingly, all legal residents with primary residency within the township who are 18 or older, capable of passing a federal firearms background check, and desire to do so can become a member of the Holton Township Militia simply by indicating their intent “on open media or to friends and or family or by letter.”

Divemedic frets that this move may bring us one step closer to CW II, and he may well be right about that. As disturbing a prospect as that is, though, the fact remains that if 2A people had stepped up in defense of their Constitutionally-enumerated rights like this long ago, we wouldn’t be in this mess to start with. Ref: Mike’s Iron Law Nos. 1, 213, 873, and 1,246. The underlying principle applies in other contexts beyond the 2A—far too many of ‘em, actually.

Real Americans from 50-60-70 years ago might possibly be excused for being unaware of the implacable, insatiably-rapacious nature of the Goosesteppin’ Left, maybe, but not today. We’ve surely seen enough by now to understand that, with authoritarian Leftards like Fraulein Whitler, if you give ‘em an inch, they’ll take absolutely everything you have. Rights not defended are rights lost; as the Founders warned, they are never restored willingly—they must either be taken back, or surrendered forever.

I believe I’ve just come up with a new Iron Law: In the face of creeping tyranny, complacency is death. It’s sad, it’s scary, it’s unpleasant to contemplate, it’s tragic, even. What it also happens to be is the cold, hard truth.

Update! Mike’s Iron Laws have been duly revised.

Is the tide turning at long, long last?

Could be, could be. Via Zero Hedge:

Heh. Indeed. The anguish of shitlibs the world over brought on by these revoltin’ developments was best expressed by Whittier: Of all sad words of tongue and pen/The saddest are these, “It might have been.” From where I sit, Geert Wilders’ win in the Netherlands may not turn out to be quite the “landslide” being proclaimed by exultant right-wingers—the numbers are from those notorious exit polls, and Wilder has called for a coalition-government with the liberal-Left VVD—but it’s still a damned good start anyway; verily, the Progtard wailing comes as sweet music to mine ears. As Tyler Durden commends to our attention, it’s not as if the media propagandists will ever back down:

Just remember folks, it’s not the will of the people reflected at the ballot box, it’s the “far right” winning a “shock victory.”

ShockVictory

An old truism holds that in this world, the only constant is change. Then again, some things never do. We shall see.

Update! That off-the-chain hairdo ain’t the only reason you just gotta love the guy.

BLM Leader Stumps for Trump Because He Is the ‘Best Candidate We Have’

*Shakes head dazedly, rubs forehead in puzzlement, gulps audibly several times* Wait….whut…whut…WHAT THE ACTUAL FUUU…

The co-founder and former Senior Director of the Rhode Island chapter of BLM, Mark Fisher, is now on tour stumping for Donald Trump and advocating for the rights of the Jan. 6 protestors.

In an interview with political analyst Kim Iverson earlier this week, Fisher called the policies of Democrats anti-capitalist and disastrous for blacks.

“We want to create wealth. We want to gain wealth, leave something for our children, you know.” Fisher also spoke out against abortion and liberal policies that promote it, saying that the act “goes against the laws of nature” and the “laws of procreation.”

Then, taking aim at the Democrats and whether or not they benefit the black community, he added, “I’m not here to judge anybody, or to hate on anybody. I’m just telling you what’s beneficial and what’s not for my community, and the Democratic Party is not.”

Fisher believes that black Americans have “been mental slaves” who have historically pledged universal loyalty to the Democratic Party. However, that party has not delivered results or tangible improvements in return.

He lamented that “we’ve been used and abused for so long by that party. They don’t value our vote. Their policies are basically racist policies, and I believe it’s a racist party that strikes at the heart of the black family and the nuclear family in general.”

Fisher’s comments come as the Biden campaign and Democrats in general face a crisis with black voters who are leaving the radical left in droves as illegals continue to flood urban areas. Inflation is unchecked and many in the black community feel abandoned and ignored by their representatives.

Turning his attention to Trump, Fisher had this to say:

“Well, you know, I like Trump, and I think right now who we have sitting in the Oval Office is just a deep disappointment, you know? I deeply have disdain for him, and I really dislike the Vice President as well.”

He then added, “And I believe Donald Trump, he’s the opposite. He’s gonna tell you how it is. He’s gonna give it to you straight. He’s not gonna be a hypocrite and stab you in the back like the Democratic Party loves to do.”

Fisher has also been outspoken in his defense of those being held for the events that took place on January 6, 2021. In an interview with the Epoch Times, he said:

“They’re lambs led to slaughter to be sacrificed as an example for all who might want to dissent in the future. This is what the government does to those who express independent thought and want to stand up for what they believe.”

Okay, I am forced to admit at this point that this is yet another thing I did not no way no how see coming. I seem to be saying that a hell of a lot lately, but then I guess that’s just the kind of world we live in nowadays. At any rate, welcome to the party, Mr Fisher. Whatever else it might be, it’s certainly one hell of a ride, and we’re most glad to have ya along.

The exception that proves the rule?

Okay, raise your hand if you saw THIS coming. I must say, I didn’t.

Muslim Group Publicly Condemns Anti-Semitic Violence and Hate, Hamas, Terrorist Attack on Israel
As violence and hatred toward Jews continues to worsen amid the Middle East war sparked by Hamas’ terrorist attack on an Israeli music festival, one Muslim group is denouncing antisemitism in all its forms and sending a message to their Jewish “brethren.”

“We Muslims have one word for Jews. Shalom,” reads the headline of the message pinned to the top of the social media page of Muslims Against Antisemitism (@MAA_UK on X/Twitter). Posted on Saturday, the message that follows is a reprint of a statement tweeted by MAA when it was formed back in 2018.

When Hamas attacked Israel last month on October 7, the Muslim group immediately began condemning both the attack and those who take joy in it (emphasis added):

“Let’s be very clear. Celebrating the brutal murder of Jews (or Palestinians), is NO cause for celebration. Today, many people have lost their precious lives. Celebrating in cars at this time is horrible & shows utter contempt and antisemitism towards all Jews.”

“Please watch out for each other at this time. Antisemitism must not be tolerated in communities because of what is taking place in the Middle East. Jews in the U.K. cannot and must not be targeted by those who carry the poison of antisemitism within them.”

“There is NO justification for murder,” MAA declared on October 8, the day after the attack, noting that “Killing Israelis going about their lives has nothing to do with a ‘free Palestine’ but everything to do with brutal murderous barbarism by fundamentalists.”

The message closes with a quote, in Hebrew, from the Book of Psalms:

“In peace, we say these words: Hiney ma tov u’ma-nayim. Shevet ach’im gam ya-chad.”

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” is the English translation of the Bible quote.

WOW. According to strict interpretation of the Koran, Surah, and Hadiths, this is of course balls-out apostasy, but all the more courageous of them for being so. Hats off to the MAA for their reasonable, humane, and downright noble stance, that’s all I have to say about it. Coming at such a time, it is most welcome.

Some societies could USE reshaping

Sensing on where it all might wind up.

War and the reshaping of societies
Let me emphasize at the outset that my assessment of the looming Israeli invasion of Gaza is intended to be descriptive, not prescriptive. I am not proposing what Israel should do, but what it may do as the coming days and weeks unfold, even if Israel does not actually intend it now.

Having formed a “unity government” for the war, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has stated clearly that the permanent end of Hamas as the principal war aim. That this objective requires a land invasion of Gaza is also clear. But what can it take to destroy Hamas? Netanyahu has said that killing its terrorists fighters is a specific goal, but Hamas is not merely an organization. It is also an ideology. How does Israel end with not only the present Hamas organization destroyed, but also the ideology?

America’s Civil War and World War 2 may provide a clue.

But first, what is Hamas’ ideology?

It is very simple: Kill Jews, kill Jews, kill more Jews. Specifically, Hamas (and Lebanon’s Hezbollah) has said publicly and often that it has at least the following goals:

1. The elimination of the state of Israel and establishment of a Muslim nation “from the Jordan river to the Mediterranean Sea.” Jews must vacate this land entirely or they will be killed.

2. In the meantime, and as a tactic to attain that goal, Hamas has said before and again very recently that Jews must be killed. Last Saturday, Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif announced, “Operation Al-Aqsa Deluge.” Al-Aqsa is the name of the mosque atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Deif said that the mass killings of Israelis were a mere “first strike,” with much more yet to come.

Donald goes on to discuss the CW1 parallels as reflected in the total-war philosophy of Sherman, then hits lightly on Eisenhower before landing squarely on Roosevelt’s somewhat-belated WW2 realization:

Hence, wrote Roosevelt in a letter to Secretary of War Henry Stimson,

It is of utmost importance that every person in Germany should realize that this time Germany is a defeated nation…The fact that they are a defeated nation, collectively and individually, must be so impressed upon them that they will hesitate to start any new war.

Precisely so—then, now, and always. As I’ve said so very many times here, about both Muslim Supremacists and the American Left, so it was with Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. As Sensing quips: “One notes that Japan and Germany have been well behaved since 1945.” One does at that. Thus do we arrive in the unlovely place we were always doomed to:

The End Game
At this point, both Israel and Hamas must realize that, as Gen. Douglas MacArthur said, “In war there is no substitute for victory.” Victory for Hamas can be defined very simply: it survives as an ongoing, at least minimally effective, violent anti-Israel entity as before. Hamas’ leaders know that to abandon murderous violence to establish a purely Palestinian state by political measures, rather than violence, means two things: (a) Hamas would not even be Hamas any more, so what is the point, and (b) mere politics will never accomplish that goal anyway. Hamas’ true believers would literally rather die than take that course.

As for Israel, its leadership at least knows that Hamas must be ended and no Hamas-by-another-name can be allowed. There is no answer to how long it will take to destroy Hamas or how many casualties it will cost. But neither Grant nor Sherman knew those things ahead of time, either. So Israel must proceed, though it is doing so as Otto von Bismarck reportedly said about going to war, “entering a dark room blindfolded to search for a black cat that is not even there.”

Gaza’s residents, whether they know it now or not, must decide in whose hands they literally trust their lives and the lives of their children. Hamas is quite willing to sacrifice them. But they may come to realize that while Israel will not target them, neither will Israel refrain from attacking if Hamas militarizes their refuges. An international standard called Common Article 3 governs combat between state and non-state combatants. It states that civilians’ presence at a location does not automatically make that location off limits from attack.

S’truth. In modern, post-Napoleonic warfare, “civilian” doesn’t mean quite what it once may have. In fact, during WW2’s Ruhr Valley strategic bombing campaign civilians were redefined as “military assets” themselves due to their work in Germany’s military-matériel industry—steel- and ironworks, armaments factories, synthetic-oil refining facilities, among other things—centered there.

Official handwringing over “civilian casualties” might be all fine and well during times of (relative) peace, but once the two-way firing range has gone full-on hot, all bets—and gloves—are off. In guerilla warfare (ie, asymmetrical, 4G-5G, however you prefer to conceptualize it), restraint and “proportionate” responses will ultimately serve only to get even more of your civilians killed than might otherwise have been the case.

For the moment, Israel seems firmly committed to trading the kid-gloves in for a stout set of knuckledusters: razing Gaza to the ground, making the rubble bounce, and effectively depopulating the place. So be it, then; having been forced into the position of waging total war against a clearly-implacable enemy who has repeatedly, explicitly, and openly declared its intention to kill every Jew they possibly can, the Israelis must now see this thing through to the very end. Gaza may not survive; Hamas MUST not, period fucking dot. Sic semper jihadists, sayeth I.

Admittedly, this isn’t America’s fight. In truth, I seriously doubt whether—given our current sorry state of self-enfeeblement, in ways by no means restricted to military matters alone—the US could provide a whole lot of assistance anyway, to Israel or anybody else.

Send a couple carrier groups with newfangled electromagnetic catapults that won’t catapult, conned by Manwoman helmspyrsynnz who were never taught to navigate without crashing into other ships, seawalls, docks, and/or sundry land masses, their flight decks jam-packed with squadrons of combat-ineffective F35 Turduckens that are far too expensive to chance having to replace when they fall out of the sky inexplicably, or recover when the malfunctioning EM catapult lobs them gently into the sea? With a complement of overweight, out of shape lesbian Wokester-Marines in “support”?

Sure, why the hell not? Tell me the one about Goldilocks and the Three Bears next, Daddy, that one’s my favorite.

Expect any practical effect on the situation beyond humiliating self-beclownment, though? Surely you jest.

At this point, the best course of action for us is to firmly reject all pompous FederalGovCo demands that Israel be put back on its leash before any more Mooselimb terrorists get hurt; re-establish and secure the southern border; and muster the will to cleanse our own badly-broken nation of the domestic jihadist threat. A Sisyphean task to be sure, but that’s still just for openers. Sorry to bust any bubbles here, but there’s an extremely lengthy to-do list of domestic affairs needing to be settled before we can even dream of mucking about in anybody else’s.

After two decades plus of bootless circle-jerkery under the War on (Some) Terror rubric, we ought never to have wound up in such an awful fix. And yet, somehow, here we all are anyway.
