Look, I’m sorry. Maybe you’ve been asleep for 100 years or something. Maybe you fell in a cave, and hit your head, and just got out after a year lost in the labyrinth. Maybe you’ve been in a medical coma for a decade. I don’t know.

But just to catch you up on current events: The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor last November.

An entire presidential election was stolen in plain sight, with everyone watching, and it’s so obvious even Stevie Wonder could see it from orbit in space. And then they doubled down, and tried to turn a panty raid into a revolution. And then doubled down again.

The Fourth Amendment’s been in tatters for all of this century, and before. They’ve set the First Amendment on fire for the last six months and counting. Now they’re coming after the Second Amendment, and the Third Amendment is the step after that. Let me know when the penny drops for you.

Oh, it’s quite a bit worse than even that, actually. By the numbers:

Is there any real need to discuss the First? Ask anybody who has lost their livelihood, their home, their friends, and their fortune after voicing a conservative opinion, support for Trump, or dissent from Progressivist dogma just how well it performed at safeguarding the right to freedom of speech it once guaranteed.

The 2nd is all but dead, strangled by the incremental creep of registration; restrictions on what kind, how many, and how often one is allowed to buy Constitutionally-“protected” firearms; increasingly onerous requirements and/or other qualifications for buying or selling legal weaponry, along with the burdensome blizzard of paperwork those regulations generate. As I’ve said before: if one must beg the government’s permission to exercise it, then it isn’t a “right,” it’s a privilege.

What with ubiquitous cameras, satellites, drones, license plate readers, Sting Rays, and listening devices clandestinely spying on us and recording our every move, every minute of every day, any notion that the Fourth remains in meaningful effect is definitionally ludicrous.

The Fifth? Pull the other one, it has a bell on it.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury,

Which the DA will happily provide with a surfeit of spurious charges, just to help them along.

except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb;

Unless you’re Darren Chauvin, or any other of the numerous Americans who have faced prosecution for “civil offenses” after the prosecution failed to get them convicted and Bastilled on the original criminal charges.

nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;

Except if you own a home or property the authorities wish to sell to crony developers, in which case they’ll Eminent Domain your ass and you’ll be lucky to receive pennies on the dollar in “compensation.” Or if you’re unfortunate enough to have a lake, pond, or small creek on your property—or a mud puddle, all of which the government has decreed “protected wetlands”—in which case the EPA will perceive an opportunity to jump on your neck with both jackbooted feet, and will assuredly seize it.

The Sixth? Don’t make me laugh.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial

A trial so “speedy” that it will drag on for decades, if not the rest of the defendant’s natural life, bankrupting him regardless of outcome. In post-Constitutional “America,” the process IS the punishment.

The Seventh and Eight, which concern more or less nuts-and-bolts specifics of certain courtroom proceedings, we’ll leave alone for now. The Ninth?

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

None of which are now regarded as valid by The Power, all of which have been gleefully flung down and stomped upon.

The Tenth (poor, dear little thing)—the conceptual framework for the structure of the Founders’ government—has had a whole blown through it wide enough to drive the pathetically dysfunctional USS Ford through with room to spare, damaged by a slow-mo explosion originally set off by FDR’s New Deal commiebomb. After decades of abuse, encroachment, and neglect, the long-before-neutered Tenth was finally euthanized once and for all by the abominable Seventeeth, in accordance with the Progressivist plan.

After all that, if the penny ain’t dropped for you yet, as Aesop puts it, it’s almost certainly never going to.

That’s besides generational enemies worldwide sharpening their carving knives looking at the carcass of a once-great nation, the wholesale deliberate hamstringing and then gutting of the greatest military on the planet, and the imminent collapse of the entire world economy, starting, Gentle Reader, with your own little ricebowl, and your little patch of paradise on earth.

People have been yakking lately about the totally symbolic fart-in-a-hurricane letter from a bunch of impotent pensioned-off old-fart petty generals and admirals. You might have heard something.

It’s all nothing but ass gas from people eating soft food and wearing Depends.

The letter they should have read was from Zombie Admiral Stark, piped in from 1941 via the Twilight Zone:

So maybe, stop acting like a Baby Duck, and realize that the time for pusillanimous appeasement and pants-wetting caution went up in flames waaaaaaaaaay back, and either pitch in or fall in to commence training to reverse that, or else just resolve to taste bad when they feed you to the lions.

Really, there never IS a time for pusillanimous appeasement, which is always a must-to-avoid among men who would live free. That, in combination with complacency and lotus-eating decadence, was a major factor in bringing us to the current sorry pass. Compromise with honest, fair-minded opponents is one thing; appeasement is quite another. It is always a costly mistake, sometimes a fatal one, quite literally. Appeasement never bought anybody anything except heartache and regret.

And yet appeasement is exactly what the GOPe has been doing anyway, for years and years. Naifs that we be, we let them do it.

Our Constitutional rights weren’t so much stolen from us. We threw them away. Which brings us right ’round to…well, to where we all are. Aesop, unfortunately, is perfectly correct: like it or not, do-or-die time is nigh upon us.

This flag is your flag, this flag is MY flag

Sooner or later, you can be sure they’ll get around to something you DO care about.

Outside Christie’s home in upstate New York, nestled beneath a tree near her driveway, sits a small rock painted with a Confederate flag that could cost her the custody of her little girl.

In a row between parents identified only as Christie and Isaiah, the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court’s Third Department unanimously allowed the pair to retain joint custody of their biracial child but ordered the mother to remove the rebel rock by June 1. Failing that, the court ruled the rock’s “continued presence shall constitute a change in circumstances.”

Put plainly, the bench threatened to revisit parents’ custody agreement and warned: “Family Court shall factor this into any future best interests analysis.”

It seems the parents have been locked in a protracted custody battle for some time. The New York Post reports that “the mother wants the dad to only see his daughter every other weekend, and the father wants sole custody.” In the course of the dispute, Isaiah has mentioned the rock only in passing while making a broader argument for custody of the girl. It was only when the case ended up in the lap of the appellate court that judges honed in on Christie’s taste in decor.

“Although not addressed by Family Court or the attorney for the child, the mother’s testimony at the hearing, as well as an exhibit admitted into evidence, reveal that she has a small confederate flag painted on a rock near her driveway,” Justice Stanley Pritzker wrote in the ruling. Pritzker then set his sights on the child’s racial background.

“Given that the child is of mixed race, it would seem apparent that the presence of the flag is not in the child’s best interests, as the mother must encourage and teach the child to embrace her mixed-race identity, rather than thrust her into a world that only makes sense through the tortured lens of cognitive dissonance,” Pritzker wrote. “Further, and viewed pragmatically, the presence of the confederate flag is a symbol inflaming the already strained relationship between the parties.”

How one feels about the Confederate flag is irrelevant to the real issue here.

Those who grin at the removal of Confederate symbolism from the public eye should know that the implications of this could and likely will extend far beyond Southern heritage.

The list of contraband symbolism, political views, and speech is sure to grow as the war on the specter of white supremacy escalates. Some might say that it is paranoid to suspect as much, an example of the slippery slope fallacy. Those people also thought that the toppling of statues would stop with Confederate monuments.

Those people need to get their heads around the undeniable fact that the neverending escalations of the toxic Left will NEVER stop. Appease them all you like; bend over backwards for them until your spine (if any) snaps, betray every last principle you ever held dear, accept another false “compromise” in which you somehow gain nothing as your “reward” for yielding—it won’t matter. They will always and forever come back with yet another demand, yet another depredation, looking to take the next bite of your freedom until every last morsel of it has been gobbled up.

So stop doing it. It’s long past time that Team Liberty recognized that the Left has from the very beginning played the long game, never for an instant taking their eyes off the prize they seek: tyranny. Any momentary gesture they give to comity, accomodation, reason, and cooperation is false, a manipulation intended to move them closer to their ultimate goal. Giving in, if only for the sake of holding on briefly to some semblance of peace, does nothing but further embolden them. Unless we fight them ferociously on every issue—even the most seemingly trivial of them—we will one day find ourselves with our backs against the wall, left with no ground on which we can stand.

I am a Son of the South. The Confederacy is part of my cultural heritage; I am proud to fly its Battle Flag via the tattoo of it on my right arm, and I do not give a good goddamn what ANYBODY thinks about that.

Forget? I’ll see every last whimpering, whining PC piece of shit in Hell first.

Honor thy forefathers

CA gets a letter from a reader.

I recently set my wheels on the road for a trip through the Communist North East.

I wanted to see some of these things while travel was still possible and before the Vaxstappo begins asking for your papers to allow you to travel between states.

One of these stops was in Boston.  Specifically, to see the North Bridge and the Isaac Davis statue.

Sometimes you just get the feeling of how small you are in the moment.

The visit to the North Bridge was one of those moments for me.

I can readily imagine so. If you’ve forgotten the details about Davis and his moment in our glorious history—it shames me to admit I had—here’s a refresher course.

Isaac Davis (February 23, 1745 – April 19, 1775) was a gunsmith and a militia officer who commanded a company of Minutemen from Acton, Massachusetts, during the first battle of the American Revolutionary War. In the months leading up to the Revolution, Davis set unusually high standards for his company in terms of equipment, training, and preparedness. His company was selected to lead the advance on the British Regulars during the Battle of Concord because his men were entirely outfitted with bayonets. During the American advance on the British at the Old North Bridge, Davis was among the first killed and was the first American officer to die in the Revolution.

Faulty memory notwithstanding, you’ll likely be familiar with Daniel French’s The Minute Man statue; it’s an iconic memorial, a rendition of which also serves as the National Guard logo as well as being featured on the Massachussetts quarter. The story of Davis and the unfortunate part he played in the Battle of Concord is always worth revisiting.

In November 1774, Acton formed a company of Minutemen, and Davis was elected captain. He was determined that his company be as well-equipped as the British soldiers. Most provincial Minuteman companies, unlike professional soldiers, were not equipped with bayonets for use in close combat and they typically re-loaded using powder horns, a slow method more suited to hunting than to battle. Davis employed his skills as a gunsmith to outfit nearly every man in his company with a bayonet and saw that his men were supplied with cartridge boxes, allowing his company to re-load as quickly as the British. Finally, Davis emphasized marksmanship, training his company on an improvised shooting range behind his house. These high standards in terms of equipment and training made the Acton company one of the best prepared in Massachusetts.

According to tradition, Davis was a superstitious man who believed he had seen numerous omens that indicated that he would die if forced into battle. In 1851, Rev. James Woodbury, Acton’s representative to the Massachusetts General Court, delivered a speech about Davis to the House of Representatives. During this speech, Woodbury described an incident that allegedly took place a few days before the Battle of Concord in which Davis and his family returned home to find an owl perched on Davis’s musket. According to Woodbury, “It was an ill omen, a bad sign. The sober conclusion was that the first time that Davis went into battle, he would lose his life.”

On the night of April 18, 1775, Gage dispatched approximately 800 British Regulars under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith. The Sons of Liberty in Boston were convinced that the British troops would also attempt to capture the provincial leaders, John Hancock and Samuel Adams, who were in Lexington, Massachusetts. Messengers Paul Revere and William Dawes therefore rode again on the night of April 18 to warn Hancock and Adams that the soldiers were marching from Boston. In Lexington, the British force encountered resistance from the Lexington militia, and a skirmish ensued on Lexington Green; eight provincials were killed, and one British soldier was wounded.Following the action on Lexington Green, the British marched on to Concord.

Word of the British movement reached Acton just before dawn on April 19, most likely delivered by Dr. Samuel Prescott, a resident of Concord and one of the Sons of Liberty. As the alarm spread, the Acton Minutemen began to gather at Davis’s home. While waiting for others to arrive, the men made paper cartridges and some powdered their hair with flour so as to appear more like gentlemen when they met the British in battle. As the Minutemen prepared, Davis’s wife noticed that he seemed especially somber and said very little. As some of his men joked about getting shot at by a British soldier, Davis rebuked them, reminding them that some of them would soon be killed.

Davis formed up his company and ordered them to march at about 7 a.m. According to his wife and other witnesses, shortly after stepping off, Davis ordered his company to halt, then returned to his front door to tell his wife, “Take good care of the children.” Soon after crossing into Concord, the Acton company passed the farm of Colonel James Barrett who commanded the provincial troops in Concord that morning. A small detachment of British soldiers were searching Barrett’s farm for supplies, and Davis considered attacking them. His orders, however, were to muster with the rest of the provincial militia and Minutemen near the Old North Bridge by the Concord River. He then diverted his company off the road, avoiding the British at Barrett’s farm and marching past a tavern belonging to a Widow Brown. A boy named Charles Handley, who lived at Widow Brown’s Tavern, saw Davis’s company pass the tavern. He recalled many years later that a fifer and drummer played a song called “The White Cockade”, a reference to the white ribbon worn on their bonnets by Scots revolutionaries during The ’45. Tradition persists that this was Davis’s favorite marching song, but there is little evidence to support this notion. There is also a tradition that the Acton musicians played the White Cockade later when Davis’s company led the advance on the British at the Old North Bridge, although this too is not supported by primary source accounts.

Davis’s company reached the area of the Old North Bridge at approximately 9 a.m. Several other companies of militia and Minutemen, consisting of about 500 men from Concord, Lincoln, and Bedford, had already gathered on a small hill overlooking the bridge. Approximately 100 British Regulars occupied the bridge. Shortly after Davis arrived, Barrett called a council of the officers present to determine whether or not to attack the Regulars at the bridge. In Concord, the majority of the British force was searching for supplies, but they found little. When they decided to burn some wooden gun carriages they discovered, the provincials near the Old North Bridge saw the smoke and thought the British were burning the town. Barrett then made the decision to attack the soldiers holding the bridge.

Davis’s company had taken their designated position at the left of the provincial line. This would have placed the Acton company in the rear of the attack when the line advanced. The company in the lead would have been Captain David Brown’s company from Concord. When Barrett asked Brown if he would lead the attack, Brown responded that he would rather not. Knowing that Davis’s company was well equipped with bayonets and cartridge boxes, Barrett asked Davis if his company would lead the advance. Several slight variations of Davis’s response have been recorded. His response is most often given as, “I have not a man that is afraid to go.” Following Barrett’s orders, Davis then moved his company to the right of the line. Around 10:30, the provincials faced to the right and advanced on the Old North Bridge in a column of two men abreast. At the head of the column was Davis, Major John Buttrick of Concord, and Lt. Col. John Robinson of Westford. Barrett remained behind on the hill, cautioning his men as they marched by him not to fire first. The British at the bridge, watching the provincials approach, were surprised to see, as one soldier later said, that they “advanced with the greatest regularity”.

When the provincials were within about 75 yards of the bridge, the Regulars fired a few warning shots. Luther Blanchard, the fifer from Acton, was hit and wounded by one of these warning shots. The British then fired a disorganized volley. Isaac Davis was shot through the heart. Private Abner Hosmer of Acton was also killed in this volley. Seeing these casualties, Buttrick commanded, “Fire, fellow soldiers, for God’s sake fire!” and the provincials returned fire, causing the British to immediately retreat back to Concord.

By God, if that doesn’t make your heart beat faster and the hair on back of your neck stand straight up…well, you just ain’t anything I’ll ever acknowledge as an American, that’s all.

The story of Isaac Davis, Concord, and the American Revolution should serve as an inspiration to every red-blooded American. The tragedy of our age is that, rather than being a fundamental part of the public-school curriculum, I doubt you could find much more than a handful of grade-schoolers in the entire country who ever heard a single word of it. It’s no less than a national disgrace.

The opening stanza of Emerson’s Concord Hymn is engraved on The Minute Man‘s plinth:

By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood
And fired the shot heard round the world.

Stirring words, a worthy salute to commemorate valiant men and the resounding victory for all mankind bought for us by their brave sacrifice. Alas, Emerson’s third stanza is probably more apt for their less-noble heirs:

On this green bank, by this soft stream,
We set today a votive stone;
That memory may their deed redeem,
When, like our sires, our sons are gone.

May God grant that the Founders’ descendants may redeem those great deeds and reclaim their priceless inheritance before all is said and done.

Fairy tales & necessary illusions

People who aren’t looking will never see.

“Land of the free, home of the brave.”

“The Constitution ensures Americans receive due process.”

“Equal justice under the law is a hallmark of the American justice system.”

“We have a government restrained by checks and balances.”

“They hate us for our freedoms.”

“If I put my tooth under my pillow, the tooth fairy will come and exchange it for a dollar bill.”

By now most Americans, minus perpetually ignorant boomers and five-year-olds, know the above statements are fairy tales. Not necessarily on the level of Grimm’s scary nightmare tales, more like big white lies and obsolete constructs repeated in unison by propagandists in order to make us feel good so we don’t ask too many questions.

In the information security business, there is a saying that security by obscurity is no security at all—meaning hiding from hackers is not a winning security strategy. The parallel to this in politics is anonymity is freedom. In other words, I am free as long as the tyrant doesn’t know I exist.

The reality, however, is one can never get small enough or anonymous enough to be free from evil when evil rules the land. Freedom through anonymity is not real freedom—it’s merely an illusion. Illusions are the bread and butter of the tyrant—for if the masses knew the truth they would be ungovernable and the tyrant’s life would be, in Hobbesian terms, a nasty, brutish, and short affair. Because of this, the tyrant strives to keep the necessary illusions alive in the minds of the common people. One of the biggest illusions traditional America clings to right now is that it still retains constitutional rights recognized and respected by its government in Washington, D.C.

In the 1989 classic sports fantasy movie “Field of Dreams,” Kevin Costner’s character, an Iowa corn farmer, repeatedly hears a voice whispering “If you build it, they will come,”—“it” being a baseball diamond.  So, despite the craziness of the idea, Costner plows under a portion of his corn crop and builds a baseball field and—long story short—a bunch of old-time baseball heroes show up and play a game . . . his farm is saved from foreclosure, families are reunited, and happy endings all around.

We all like stories with happy endings, but someone, or rather some people, applied the mantra “if you build it, they will come” to the wrong dream. They decided to build the infrastructure of a tyranny—and voilà, guess who showed up? Tyrants.

The following section opens with a truly succulent line—”Enter the shitshow that was the George W. Bush Administration”—before moving on to a chilling examination of a quiet Bush-admin rule change that basically grants the FBI complete carte blanche to launch open-ended, unrestrained investigations into any American they want, with neither accountability nor Congressional oversight, predicated on…well, on nothing whatsoever.

Trust me: as cynical as you may think you already are about the FBI, you ain’t anywhere NEAR cynical enough. It all comes down to this.

Right now, traditional Americans are under attack by a ruling elite empowered by the weaponized institutions of justice in America. We are accused of being extremists, terrorists, racists, and white supremacists—all without a shred of actual evidence. Like Kafka’s The Trial, our denials are considered evidence of our crimes. In reality, all of this is merely an attempt to intimidate the elite’s political opposition. Their goal is to silence traditional America as they take control of our once free and independent nation in order to pursue the objectives of an unaccountable oligarchy. Make no mistake, the elites are shouting the command “submit” and preparing to force us into acquiescing to our own destruction.

Traditional Americans should consider the consequences of what is coming. If an FBI agent approaches your employer and claims you are a potential violent extremist, how do you think your employer will react? Do you think you will still have a job at the end of the week? What about your neighbors? If an FBI agent makes the rounds in your neighborhood and inquiries about your alleged extremist proclivities, do you think your neighbors will still invite you over for the 4th of July BBQ? What happens when the FBI recruits your neighbors or your children’s teachers as informants? What happens when they park an obvious surveillance element outside your house 24/7 for everyone, including you, to see? How can you defend yourself from what is effectively a whisper campaign, the sole purpose of which is to destroy your life and make an example of you for other Americans to see?

When government agents can circumvent your due process rights without any legal predicate, you are no longer a free citizen; you are a subject in a tyranny. Traditional Americans need to understand that this is the case right now. You may believe you are free because you are still relatively anonymous to the tyrant, and that is likely true, right up until the point it isn’t.

Thankfully, this time Morton resists the temptation to lapse into any of the “Vote harderer!” folly he’s succumbed to in some of his previous outings. Maybe, having manfully faced up to the grim facts of life in Amerika v2.0 in the year of our Lord 2021 AD, it’s finally dawned on him how very little “elections” actually amount to under the sway of illegitimate, systemically corrupt, tyrannical regimes.

Thought exercise

I’ve said I’m all done with 2020 election fantasizing, and I meant it too. However, this one’s opening gambit is amusing enough to make an exception for.

Let me put this in terms even Democrats can understand.

Let’s say a white police officer killed a black man who did nothing wrong. Unlike George Floyd, this man had not committed any crime, did not resist arrest, didn’t have fentanyl in his system and had no record of violent crime. Assume this poor guy was a law-abiding, taxpaying, churchgoing American and that the cop killed him for the crime of “driving while black.”

How do the police react? They say the shooting was righteous. They refuse to investigate. There is bodycam footage, but they refuse to release it. And get this: They refuse to allow anyone to even talk about it. If any cop talks about it, he loses his job. If anyone in the black community talks about it, social media will suspend them or ban them for life.

What would all of that mean to you? Guilty as charged, right? The police must be covering up a crime. No one who’s innocent acts like that, right?

Guess what? That’s equivalent to the reaction (or, should I say, overreaction) of liberals, Democrats and assorted socialists and communists when Republicans make accusations of massive voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

I thought we’re all allowed to have our opinion in America. I thought we have free speech. I thought we have a right to investigate. I thought we have a right to see the videotapes. I thought we have a right to forensic audits.

I was wrong.

Indeed you were, even more so than you may realize. See, your mistake wasn’t in thinking that free speech, free thought, and all the rest were “allowed” in America; in fact, they were. Your mistake was in clinging to the now-defunct belief that this is still America. All available evidence confirms that the country we now live in is nothing of the sort. Once you get your head around that ugly reality, everything begins to come clear. Adjust your attitude and behavior accordingly.

Boot on our necks, forever amen

I take no pleasure in saying this, believe me I don’t, but…told ya so.

Remember when Dr. Fauci said masks don’t work?

Now Fauci is suggesting mask-wearing will become permanent.

Fauci appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday and told host Chuck Todd that thanks to mask-wearing, the seasonal flu was pretty much non-existent this year.

The seasonal flu was just recoded into Covid so medical facilities can make more money, but Fauci gets paid big bucks to lie and push CCP propaganda so here we are.

“We’ve had practically a non-existent flu season this year merely because people were doing the kinds of public health things that were directed predominantly against COVID-19,” Fauci said with a straight face.

“So it is conceivable that as we go on, a year or two or more from now, that during certain seasonal periods when you have respiratory-borne viruses like the flu, people might actually elect to wear masks to diminish the likelihood that you’ll spread these respiratory-borne diseases,” Fauci added.

The Covid tyranny stops when we say it stops.

Well, perhaps. Then again, perhaps not. The trouble is, we now have a tremendous portion of the population who has been thoroughly conditioned and have now been broken in the same sense wild horses are. “Americans” have accepted the bit; they’re more inclined to cowardice and submission than to sturdy self-determination in the first place, and will not only be perfectly fine with making the Mask Of Submission a permanent fixture of Amerikan life, they will vehemently insist on it. You can be sure that the Fauxvid panic-ninnies will raise eight flavors of ruckus should it not be made so, and will continue on shamelessly hectoring and harassing those who refuse to comply.

There was a time when I myself regularly echoed Laila’s line that it “stops when we say it stops.” With every passing day, though, it becomes more apparent that relatively passive resistance isn’t going to suffice to free us unless and until physical violence, up close and personal, becomes part of the equation. Maybe those Karens and Kens would relent if they suddenly found themselves on the hurty end of a knuckle sandwich every time they opened their smarmy yaps to start in on some poor schlub possessed of the outrageous temerity to insist on living as if this was still a free country or something.

The grand experiment in authoritarianism facilitated by hysterical panic over a decidedly unexceptional flu bug turned out to be successful beyond a wannabe despot’s wildest dreams. All the puzzle pieces for perpetual tyranny are now firmly in place, which means more extreme measures will be required if it is ever to be disassembled and put back in its proper box. As in so very many other contexts, by putting off a reckoning instead of facing reality and just getting on with it, we have only made our struggle more difficult than it might have been. Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt; it’s also an invitation no tyrant will ever refuse—a wide-open door that they will forever be happy to walk through and make themselves right at home.

Update! Give ’em an inch, and they’ll take…absolutely everything.

So spare me the tired and easily refuted claim that our current situation is simply a scientific response to a dangerous disease. Similar responses to dangerous situations would never be accepted, and would trigger immediate and appropriate legal responses. Just imagine if Fredo The Elder (Andrew Cuomo) announced that until the murder rate in the worst precincts in NYC dropped to the background level of the rest of the country, all people above a certain age were subject to search for weapons. Or that policemen would be posted in every supermarket to search all morbidly overweight people for prohibited foods.

Those are ridiculous and unacceptable examples of government overreach, yet we are currently tolerating similar insults to our rights, and looming on the horizon are even more insidious measures. Vaccine passports, segregation of the vaccinated from the unvaccinated, and many more degradations of our rights as free people are coming, and soon.

How different is a vaccine passport compared to the yellow star of Nazi Germany, or a letter from the Red Guards allowing travel to the cities, or an ID card allowing one entrance into a communist party food store in Moscow?

The advent of incredibly fast computers, completely interconnected, and vast databases that can be accessed from literally anywhere with a cellular connection makes the Nazis and the Soviets and the Chinese communists mere dilettantes compared to the current surveillance state.

Papers could be forged…badges could be manufactured…the authorities could be evaded (at least for a time). But how many of us have the technical knowledge and skills to evade a vaccine passport requirement? Or avoid being tracked with our cell phones and internet log-ons and electronic toll systems and credit cards and facial recognition systems and license plate readers and on and on and on.

We are in the midst of a profound shift to authoritarian rule, but this time the tools available to those in power are orders of magnitude more powerful than even the infamous East German Ministry For State Security had!

The dystopian novels of the past predicted exactly this, but they were warnings…and we ignored them.

Oh, we’re hardly “in the midst” of said profound shift, I’d say. What we’re in now is the final stage of it, when the cleaning crew comes in to sweep up whatever’s left of American liberty before its light is extinguished for the long, dark night.

The “cure” is worse than the disease

How many Americans have died after taking the COVID vaccines? Not Americans who’ve been killed by the virus, that’s a huge number, but how many Americans have died after getting the vaccines designed to prevent the virus? Do you know the answer to that question? Do you know anything about the downside?

Every flu season, we give influenza shots to more than 160 million Americans. Every year, a relatively small number of people seem to die after getting those shots. To be precise, in 2019, that number was 203 people. The year before, it was 119. In 2017, a total of 85 people died from the flu shot.

Every death is tragic, but big picture, we don’t consider those numbers disqualifying. We keep giving flu shots, and very few people complain about it. So the question is how do those numbers compare to the death rate from the coronavirus vaccines now being distributed across the country? That’s worth knowing.

We checked today. Here’s the answer, which comes from the same set of government numbers that we just listed: Between late December of 2020, and last month, a total of 3,362 people apparently died after getting the COVID vaccines in the United States. Three thousand, three hundred and sixty-two — that’s an average of 30 people every day. So, what does that add up to?

By the way, that reporting period ended on April 23. We don’t have numbers past that, we’re not quite up to date. But we can assume that another 360 people have died in the 12 days since. That is a total of 3,722 deaths. Almost four thousand people died after getting the COVID vaccines. The actual number is almost certainly much higher than that — perhaps vastly higher.

The data we just cited come from the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System — VAERS — which is managed by the CDC and the FDA. VARES has received a lot of criticism over the years, some of it founded. Some critics have argued for a long time that VARES undercounts vaccine injuries.

A report submitted to the Department of Health and Human Services in 2010 concluded that “fewer than one percent of vaccine adverse events are reported” by the VAERS system. Fewer than one percent. So what is the real number of people who apparently have been killed or injured by the vaccine?

As with the number of people snuffed by Communist regimes, we’ll almost certainly never know for sure. Coincidentally, I ran across an article months ago detailing the sheer uselessness of the VARES site, and even considered doing a post on it at the time but never bothered. To me, the story was just another data point in confirmation of FederalGovCo incompetence and unreliability. There are always more of those than I’ll ever have time to get around to, and there always will be.

In just the first four months of this year, the U.S. government has recorded more deaths after COVID vaccinations than from all other vaccines administered in the United States between mid-1997 and the end of 2013. That’s a period of fifteen and a half years.

Again, more people, according to VAERS, have died after getting the shot in four months during a single vaccination campaign than from all other vaccines combined over more than a decade and a half. Chart that out. It’s a stunning picture. Now, the debate is over what it means.

And, again, the VAERS tally represents a miniscule fraction of the actual deaths, maybe as few as less than one percent of them—by HHS’s own estimation.

We spoke to one physician today who actively treats COVID patients. He described what we’re seeing now as the single deadliest mass-vaccination event in modern history. Whatever is causing it, it is happening as we speak. So you’d think someone in authority might want to know what’s going on.

Are we really all that sure that they don’t? The only thing we can be certain of is that—whatever the truth might be, whatever the topic or issue at hand—they don’t want us to know, and will go to extreme lengths to keep us from finding out.

Vaccines are complicated medicines, and as with any drug, it can take a long time to get it precisely right. The dosage, for example. And this is not the first time people have been hurt during a vaccination campaign. That is bound to happen. What’s different this time, and so striking, is the reaction to these numbers.

Here’s a contrast for you: in 1976, the U.S. government vaccinated 45 million people with a vaccine for the swine flu. Fifty-three people reportedly died after getting that shot. The U.S. government immediately halted the vaccination program. Authorities decided it was too risky, it wasn’t worth it.

Contrast that with what is happening now. This time, our health authorities have reserved their energy for anyone who dares to question vaccines. LifeSiteNews, a nonprofit news organization, just found itself permanently banned from Facebook. Why? Because it reported government numbers from the VAERS database.

The difference is easy enough to explain: as I’ve maintained from the start, this is not about a virus. It never was. Leaving the endlessly-extended lockdowns; the manufactured mass panic; the baldfaced lies and ever-shifting goalposts; and all the rest of this balderdash out of it, the government’s frenzied campaign demanding that you GET YOUR SHOT!™ ought to arouse suspicion in any informed American about what’s really going on here, what our masters’ real objective might be, all by itself.

There’s a reason many states have more vaccine doses than they can use. Some people just don’t want the vaccine. That’s their right. Period. Not all of them are crazy. Health decisions used to be considered personal choices. We didn’t ask about them. They were considered personal as recently as last fall. In September of 2020, at the height of the presidential campaign, a CNN reporter asked Kamala Harris whether she’d be willing to take the coronavirus vaccine once it became available.

“Well, I think that’s going to be an issue for all of us,” Harris responded. “I will say that I would not trust Donald Trump.” A month later, at the vice presidential debate, Harris was if anything more emphatic on the subject. “If Donald Trump tells us we should take” the vaccine, she declared, “I’m not going to take it.”

Kamala Harris has, of course, since changed her mind. She’s no longer skeptical of the vaccine, nor does she tolerate the skepticism of others. Instead, she’s an enthusiastic participant in COVID theater.

Annnnd bingo. COVID theater is exactly what this is, what it has been all along.

Before you join the Vaccination Stampede and succumb to being injected with…with…with whatever the hell this concoction actually is, you should ask yourself: do I really trust this government this much? If—after the dishonesty, the deception, the endemic corruption and criminality we’ve all witnessed from government—you can still somehow answer yes to that burning question, then you just march yourself right on in and get yourself jabbed, and best of luck to you with it.

Should you be one of the lucky survivors, don’t be alarmed if you feel a sudden uncontrollable urge to open your mouth and go “BAAAAAH!” every now and then. I hear that’s one of the known side effects of this “vaccine,” and nothing to be concerned about.

Tyranny’s cauldron

We’re in it. Not because we want to be. Not because we chose to be. Because power-drunk fools have put us there.

Two phrases, taken together, probably constitute the origin of violence and conflict throughout the history of mankind. They are the imperative command “Submit,” and the responsive challenge, “Or what?” I am guessing billions have died as a result of that conversation, because the follow-on to “or what” is when the stabbing, hacking, shooting, and bombing starts. If one wishes to avoid that violence, it is best to avoid forcing that discussion.

In war, there is a military strategy called the “Golden Bridge.” It is used when fighting a determined and powerful opponent that you may be able to defeat, but not completely destroy. The Golden Bridge is a path for a defeated enemy to retreat from the battlefield. This idea comes from Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu who wrote in The Art of War, “Do not push too hard on a desperate enemy,” as this will cause him to fight to the death, which in the end inflicts a much higher cost on your own forces. The goal is to defeat the enemy with the least number of casualties and expenditures of resources on one’s own side—thus maintaining the strength and capabilities of your own army, and in the case of internal conflicts, maintaining a recoverable semblance of order.

The opposite of the Golden Bridge is the World War II German Army strategy of “kettling.” Kettling comes from the German word for cauldron, Kessel. It is used against one’s enemy in order to destroy it or force its unconditional surrender. There is no retreat allowed, and the objective is to isolate the enemy and cause the maximum amount of misery and chaos prior to a final crushing attack.

If we examine what is happening in America now, it is possible to make out the initial shape of the ruling elite’s strategy vis-à-vis their political opposition—and it looks like a cauldron. Through legislative actions such as the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act, H.R. 1 federalized voting law, gun control, Supreme Court-packing, and D.C. and Puerto Rico state initiatives, one can see the kettle forming. If you don’t see a Golden Bridge, it is because there isn’t one.

If we listen to the words of the politicians and their bureaucrat handlers in Washington, we can hear the language of the imperative, “Submit,” with no post-capture options. And, if we look at the current zero-sum game of political warfare, cancel culture, and the weaponization of the Justice Department, federal law enforcement, and intelligence agencies, we can see deliberate preparations to answer traditional Americans’ “or what?” response.

The ruling elite appears comfortable delivering the command “Submit” to traditional America, and are not concerned with the consequences that will follow. But they are not fighters, and as such, they plan to use their weaponized federal agencies and useful-idiot brown shirts to do the dirty work. In their ignorance and arrogance, they believe employing violence-by-proxy is a safe strategy. They do not see the reaper that is staring directly at them.

Left to their own devices, the inevitable result of their mistake will be chaos and some version of armed conflict, and most likely the end of our republic as we knew it. For traditional Americans, it is worth considering now whether this is an acceptable future.

Sow the wind; reap the whirlwind has a long history in America as a cautionary scripture instructing restraint from self-destructive behavior. But what of the people who sow the wind in order to call forth the whirlwind, as a weapon against their enemies? What of the people who call forth the whirlwind because, despite the horrible destruction it will bring to their fellow man, they believe they will in some way profit it from the misery? What do we, America, do with those people? How can we afford to tolerate them in our midst?

The elites have a plan. They believe they will be fine, because they’re counting on your submission. If anything remotely unanticipated happens, they can safely escape to their Martha’s Vineyard estates, their compounds in Montana, or their razor wire fortress in Washington, D.C. while things get sorted out by the loyal apparatchiks.

Much as Karl Rove did during the George W. Bush Administration, the elites suffer from the substantial hubris of believing they can create their own reality. They are undeservedly impressed with their status and legend, having brought a once strong nation to the brink of disaster through malevolent and corrupt leadership. As such, they remain oblivious to the lessons from 20 years of fruitless war and the folly of trying to impose one’s will on another.

In reality, they are not strong enough—or smart enough—to wield the command “Submit.” So, having picked up the sword, they will watch it be taken from their hands and then used against them by their very enemy—traditional Americans, who understand there will be no tomorrow, and in whose eyes there is a fierceness, a fury, that is beyond their world. It will be a fatal miscalculation that will bring about the downfall of a cursed and failed American ruling elite. And perhaps, if we can recapture the founding principles of our republic, the beginning of a new and better governance by and for the people; one truly dedicated to liberty and justice for all.

Cuban refugee: Americans have digested ‘poison pill of communism’
Former Cuban refugee Maximo Alvarez warned in a speech at the Republican National Convention last summer that many Americans have swallowed the “poison pill” of communism, but now he says they’ve “digested” it.

In an interview Wednesday with Lisa Boothe, he recalled witnessing during his childhood dictator Fidel Castro’s elimination of human rights, the Daily Wire reported.

Alvarez fled to the United States in 1961 under Operation Peter Pan.

Many other emigres from communist nations also are speaking out, warning they are seeing in the United States some of the same developments that eventually caused them to flee their homelands.

Among them is the famous Soviet dissident Natan Sharansky, who wrote an essay published in February titled “The Doublethinkers.”

He said that in “assessing my own liberation, I recall a conformity that feels terrifyingly familiar today.”

Alvarez address the RNC last August in the wake of Bernie Sanders’ declaration that his “revolution” has mainstreamed policies once thought extreme in the Democratic Party.

“I’m speaking to you today because I’ve seen people like this before,” Alvarez said.

“I’ve seen movements like this before. I’ve seen ideas like this before, and I’m here to tell you, we cannot let them take over our country.”

Tucker Carlson Says People Who Wear Masks Outside Should be Mocked
Leftists reacted with fury after Fox News host Tucker Carlson said people who wear masks outside should be mocked and that parents who made their kids wear them were engaging in “child abuse.”

Carlson noted that masks were “purely a sign of political obedience like Kim Il-Sung pins in Pyongyang” and that the only people who voluntarily wear masks outside are “zealots and neurotics.”

He then asserted that the tables should be turned on Biden voters who have been harassing conservatives for almost a year for not wearing a mask in public.

“The rest of us should be snorting at them first, they’re the aggressors – it’s our job to brush them back and restore the society we were born in,” said Carlson.

“So the next time you see someone in a mask on the sidewalk or on the bike path, do not hesitate. Ask politely but firmly, ‘Would you please take off your mask? Science shows there is no reason for you to be wearing it. Your mask is making me uncomfortable,” he added.

“We should do that and we should keep doing it until wearing a mask outside is roughly as socially accepted as lighting a Marlboro on an elevator.”

Actually, I’m good with lighting up on elevators too. But then, I grew up back in the Olden Thymes, that halcyon era before the Überstate’s Behavior-Modification Mommy Squad sprang into action to prevent We The Sheeple from making any personal choices the government deemed unwise. Y’know, exactly as specified in the Constitution.

Most people smoked back in those golden days of yore, and they did so in one heck of a lot more places than just elevators. Those who preferred not to be around tobacco smoke had segregated areas all their own to hang around in. Nobody presumed they had any right to get all up in somebody else’s grill; everybody minded their own business, content to live and let live, and somehow it all seemed to work just dandy for everybody.

Come to think of it, people were allowed to do all kinds of things in those days, at their own discretion and according to personal taste. Hard to even imagine such an outlandish thing now, I know. But it’s true—I was there, I saw it. I miss those days a lot. Probably just me, or so it’s beginning to seem.

The Fox News host went on to call mask wearing “repulsive” while asserting that forcing children to wear masks outside should be illegal.

“Your response when you see children wearing masks as they play should be no different from your response to seeing someone beat a kid in Walmart. Call the police immediately. Contact Child Protective Services. Keep calling until someone arrives,” Carlson said.

“What you’re looking at is abuse, it’s child abuse, and you are morally obligated to attempt to prevent it,” he added.

As expected, Carlson immediately began trending on Twitter, with hysterical leftists hyperventilating over Tucker once again challenging their cult. Many called for the Fox News host to be fired while others ludicrously described him as a “national security threat.”

Thereby proving that his point is valid, his cause is just, and that his idea should be implemented by saner sorts right away. It brings to mind one of the most important of Mike’s Iron Laws: Anything that rankles the Left can only be good for America.

When the pandemic hit, I coached tee-ball during the height of the hysteria. No mask, no social distancing, kid’s high fiving and shaking hands. Kids were kids. Now I am coaching coach-pitch baseball and the same, no mask, no social distancing, high fiving and shaking hands. It’s how it should be.

People quit living in fear and fight for your children! Stand up and say enough!

Amen to that, with big ol’ bells on. The real shudder-inducer comes when you think of an entire generation of kids being brought up cowering under the Mask of Submission, and what their overall attitude towards liberty and their Constitutional heritage is likely to be when they come of age.

Elsewhere, GFZ makes another salient point.

A meta-analysis of the data is crystal clear. There is a strong correlation between mental illness and fervent mask-wearing.

White liberals, especially white liberal women have the highest rates of mental illness, they wallow in panic porn and misery, engage in guilt-driven activism, and are strict adherents to mask mandates.

Rather than the rest of us dismissing these histrionic, neurotic people with emotional problems as nutjobs and not listen to them, they have been elevated to the paragons of behavior to emulate, i.e., wearing a piece of bedsheet over our faces in the fresh air and sunshine to ward off a virus with a 99.97% survivability rate for most people, even after vaccination, like it’s a magical talisman.

Quite literally, the insane are the ones who are setting the norms for society.

The inmates are running the asylum.

Yup. You don’t wanna be a lunatic, do ya? Take off the Mask of Submission, reclaim your freedom, and preserve your sanity.

Breath: not holding it

T’is a consummation devoutly to be wished all the same.

  1. What if the Arizona audit shows massive voter fraud and changes the outcome of their state’s election for President and Senate?
  2. What if Donald Trump declares a government in exile in Florida based on this finding?
  3. What if Governor DeSantis recognizes and protects this alternate government?
  4. What if other state governors recognize the Trump government or withdraw their consent to the Biden administration until all state audits in question are completed?

It certainly would be a good day in the neighborhood if the federal government was marginalized until a resolution is made for our future.

I can only hope that these traitors will all receive a fair trial and then publicly be hanged until dead.

Alas, hope is the only thing we can do. In the unlikely event that any of them DO have righteous justice visited upon ’em, it will have to be the street variety, and it won’t be a court that levies it. That’s all up to We The People now.

Here’s how it is: every sensible, honest person ALREADY KNOWS that there was indeed “massive voter fraud” committed, of numerous varieties. The only ones who deny or dismiss that simple fact are either A) laboring mightily to ensure that it stays suppressed, in hopes of shoring up the faith of the foolish few in a nonviable system; B) proselytizing in support of said fraud; C) active participants in said fraud; or D) working to advance the Leftist/Deep State agenda in some other fashion.

Beyond that, though, I just gotta ask: what, exactly, does anybody expect to take place even if the audits establish beyond all argument that the 2020 election was in fact fraudulent? Think the Harris/Biden Occupation Government will just humbly step aside to allow for the installation of the legitimate President? Will Kamalassar Harris or Confusticated Grampy Joe express contrition and shame, offering their most sincere apologies for their crimes? Will the Democrat-Socialist Party be sanctioned, banned, or officially disbanded? Will any of their co-conspirations be brought to trial on charges of treason?

Of course not; as pleasant a daydream as it might be, it will never amount to anything more than just that. In the deathless words of King Arthur:



Audits, investigations, and the like are all just mental masturbation at this point: satisfying, in a shallow, momentary way, but ultimately pointless. The FUSA’s dismal fate was sealed when Pence declined to meet the Constitutionally-mandated responsibilities of his office and do his sworn duty, which was abundantly clear—a despicable act by which the long-tottering moral foundation of the US federal government was rubbled, its illegitimacy indelibly proclaimed. January 6th ought forever to be remembered as (to borrow FDR’s famous phrase) “a day which will live in infamy,” but not for the reasons Real Americans have been beaten over the head with relentlessly ever since. Which, come to think of it, is a whole ‘nother fraud in itself.

History, repeating itself

The shape of things to come.

There are many lessons to draw from the blood-soaked life of Lenin. But one of the most important is this takeaway for the terrifying “woke” moment America is living through right now. Things are not going to naturally get better. Things will not organically “calm down.” Until there is a fundamental reset of America’s treasonous leadership class, today’s unthinkable witch hunt is merely a prelude of an even darker globalist terror to come.

Once they had taken power, the Bolsheviks didn’t immediately launch Stalin-style mass purges. Instead, the Bolsheviks started off in a way modern Americans would find disturbingly familiar: By legitimizing criminal anarchy and co-opting the justice system.

In their earliest days, the Bolsheviks framed their political abuses as a “war on privilege.” In a tactic eerily reminiscent of 2020’s riots, the Bolsheviks of 1918 encouraged a decentralized campaign by the masses to plunder and crush class enemies.

From there, a grim recitation of then-and-now parallels that should freeze the gizzard of Real Americans, all of whom—whether they acknowledge it or not—are in the crosshairs of the evil Left. Then comes the most critical truth of all.

The left will not be placated by handing it victories. They are on a crusade, and as long as they are not stopped they will only become more extreme, more vengeful, and more dangerous.

Annnnd BINGO. How many times have I said it? They cannot be bargained with, compromised with, reasoned with. To treat with them as if they were honorable or trustworthy fellow Americans—people with differing opinions, sure, but nonetheless just people with whom we share a sense of basic human decency—is blind stupidity. In truth, they are the most dangerous, relentless enemy bedrock American concepts like liberty, unalienable natural rights, and self-determination have ever faced. Bottom line:

Cancel culture is only the prelude to the rape, torture, and murder of the American people by a resentful underclass goaded on by a parasitic globalist ruling class.

Despite uprooting every part of American life and spending trillions of dollars, liberalism has totally failed to abolish inequality in America. Instead of bringing universal prosperity, liberalism has produced homeless hellscapes, catastrophic public schools, gutted neighborhoods, and fragmented families. Finding the causes within liberalism is unthinkable. Again and again, big-city governments, private colleges, elite newspapers, and left-wing non-profits have been convulsed by witch hunts to root out “sexism” and “systemic racism.” Decades-old statements and stray words are sufficient proof to end a career, and sometimes not even that is needed. Rather than accept the reality that black Americans are more likely to commit crimes than other groups, liberals have declared war on the police. They would rather send good police to prison and subject millions of Americans to criminal terror than admit to a truth that is right in front of them.

But the second reason why the left constantly escalates its terrorism is more basic: Keeping power. Marx’s colleague Friedrich Engels wrote that “Terror is the needless cruelties perpetrated by terrified men.” The left is already inclined toward cruelty by disposition, but once frightened at the prospect of actual defeat, they go into a frenzy. For the Bolsheviks, it was the attempted murder of Lenin and the Russian Civil War. For the Globalist American Empire, it was the election of Donald Trump. Rather than accept an outcome that might bring about their demise, the empire struck back.

What will the future of America look like? Hopefully, it will never get as horrific as it did under past failing liberal states. But this regime is already one that will denounce a police officer for saving someone’s life. This is a regime that tries to imprison a teenager for life for defending himself while trying to protect his community from a rioting mob. This is a regime that foments war in Ukraine to avoid admitting it lost an election. This is a regime that takes children from their parents so they can be put on hormone pills and have their genitals mutilated.

This regime will never show mercy of its own free will. It will grow more and more tyrannical, and more and more extreme, until it stops or until it collapses. The worst of the terror is yet to come.

That brings us right ’round to the most discomfiting truth of all regarding Left ideology—one which Real Americans must confront squarely, without fear, reluctance, or evasion: You can vote your way in, but you have to shoot your way out. There’s just no getting around it: when it comes to Marxist government, delay is death.

Bailing on Blue.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Minneapolis is my home. My happiest memories are here. It’s where I learned to ride a bike, had my first date, received my high school diploma.

But today, I’m too afraid to even walk in my neighborhood by myself.

The ACE Hardware down the street? The one that I used to bike to in the summer? Robbed twice in the past five days.

The Walgreens next to my elementary school? Molotov cocktail thrown into it.

The Lake Harriet Bandshell, where we spent countless Mother’s Days? Homeless encampment popped up next door.

These are the things you don’t read about in the news.

Ten minutes from my house, at 38th and Chicago, there is still an autonomous zone. Police are not allowed to enter. Residents have died because medical authorities couldn’t get through, and carjackers (of which there are MANY) will speed into the zone to escape officer pursuit.

My favorite dinner theater canceled its production of Cinderella because it was “too white.”

My church — my beloved, tiny, Lutheran church — organized social justice marches for our congregation while refusing to reinstate in-person services (they’re still virtual, by the way).

And how about the week of the 2020 riots?

We lived under a curfew for days while looters seemingly roamed freely. Friends fled their home at 3:30 a.m. because the auto parts store behind them was on fire. And then we watched in horror as our City Council members demanded that the city defund the police — as they hired armed security for themselves.

I no longer recognize Minneapolis. I no longer want to live here. We are done, and I am leaving.

Can’t say as I blame ya, kiddo. Sadly, though, what’s been done to Minneapolis is no different than what’s been done to many if not most other formerly-American blue cities and states. And until Americans come to grips with what the Democrat-Socialists truly are and resolve to rise up against them en masse, the Progressivist campaign of destruction and despair will grind on.

How it happened

Wherein a most intriguing case is made in support of a somewhat unusual proposition: the origins of our national woes, pretty much all of them, are directly traceable to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.

For over fifty years, it has been a recurring promise of conservative candidates running for election that they will stand up for our constitutional rights and support the appointment of judges and Supreme Court justices who will uphold the Constitution.

Yet time after time, the left seems to win both ideological and legal battles on monumental issues such as abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, racial preferences for minorities, and the ever-expanding size and scope of government — no matter what the text of the Constitution actually says.

In The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties, (2020; ISBN 978-1-5011-0689-7) author Christopher Caldwell advances the thesis that the Constitution of 1788 has been effectively nullified by our elites and supplanted with a “new constitution” that originated in, and reflects the values of, the “Civil Rights Era” of the 1960s. Though the civil rights movement began as a reformist movement within the old order, it evolved into a “revolution” that has nearly triumphed over the polity created in the 18th century:

The changes of the 1960s, with civil rights at their core, were not just a major new element in the Constitution. They were a rival constitution, with which the original one was frequently incompatible[.]…Much of what we have called “polarization” or “incivility” in recent years is something more grave — it is the disagreement over which of the two constitutions shall prevail: the de jure constitution of 1788…with centuries of American culture behind it…or the de facto constitution of 1964, which lacks this traditional kind of legitimacy but commands the near-unanimous endorsement of judicial elites and civic educators and the passionate allegiance of those who received it as liberation.

Caldwell argues that the new “de facto constitution” has been used to supersede the Bill of Rights and the black-letter law of the traditional Constitution.  Forced busing and forced integration violated the First Amendment right to freedom of association, as did affirmative action for blacks and women. Racial and sex-based preferences offend the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. These policies were enacted despite opposition from most Americans. Speech codes and political correctness designed to cater to the sensitivities of minorities infringe on the right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The “right” to an abortion, which existed nowhere in the traditional Constitution and was opposed by a majority of the people (with limited exceptions), was essentially created by the Supreme Court.

Lest anybody be inclined to assume that Demonrat-appointed Justices and Presidents are entirely to blame, or nearly so, that erroneous notion is handily dispensed with. After the infuriating way in which Trump’s eagerly-anticipated USSC picks have performed so far, that comes as no big shock. Caldwell even goes so far as to rip Saint Ronald of Reagan a new ‘un for his own not-insignificant contribution to the national trainwreck. Then, from there:

If Caldwell’s thesis can be criticized, it is for understating his case — things have proven to be worse than he described.

In hindsight, the Trump presidency exposed the fact that the elites and the Deep State are now completely untethered by the original Constitution of limited and enumerated powers and by the Bill of Rights. They have demonstrated that they are willing to use the FBI to surveil presidential candidate and to fabricate a false narrative for the purposes of impeaching him. They have demonstrated that they will side with illegal aliens over American citizens, and that they will freely let black BLM and communist Antifa agitators run riot in the streets while ruthlessly prosecuting and suppressing as “domestic terrorists” patriotic and nationalist groups who caused a ruckus at the Capitol. They have demonstrated that they are willing to turn a blind eye to vicious and violent attacks by blacks against whites, but drop the hammer of “hate crimes” on any “deplorable” white who has the slightest dispute with a black, or on any cop making a traffic stop of a black criminal. They have demonstrated that they will continue to expand so-called “civil rights” to include all manner of insanity and freakishness, such as “transgenderism.”

Caldwell does not propose a solution to this situation. But recognizing the problem is a necessary first step in finding one. “Civil rights” has been used as an effective battering ram against conservatism and against the Constitution of the 1780s; conservatives can no longer allow themselves to be browbeaten by “civil rights” activists. The rigged election of 2020 and the double-impeachment of Trump should have awakened conservatives to the fact that merely voting Republican and asserting your “constitutional rights” is no longer enough. But it may be too late.

In 2014, Gov. Cuomo sneered that conservatives have no place in the state of New York. Increasingly, our elites have adopted the attitude that conservatives have no place anywhere in the country, and they are willing to act on it.

They’ll do precisely that, unless/until enough Real Americans nut up and demonstrate a willingness to act on a few things their own selves…in a way that won’t soon be forgotten, is impossible to ignore or minimize, and will leave a smarting, stinging welt.

Facts: faced

Frances puts the thing plainly.

We read and watch the reports of rampant looting and violence in our cities…and we sit, appalled.

We hear the Left’s mouthpieces denounce anyone who stands against them, threatening them with everything but canonization…and we shake our heads.

We read of the advance of totalitarianism in Europe, Canada, and parts of these United States…and we express disbelief.

The Left has taken the offensive. It’s seized our federal government and many state and local governments. It dominates our entertainment industries. It’s controlled the major media for many years. It owns the schools, from kindergarten all the way to the highest of the universities. And it is advancing wherever it stands forth.

We cannot win – nay; we cannot survive — if we restrict ourselves to “playing defense.”

Not long ago, Matt Bracken left this as a reply to something I said at Gab.com:

“In the absence of orders, find a Communist and kill it.”

Sounds harsh, doesn’t it? Even Communists have a right to life, don’t they? I mean, if they have freedom of expression, they must have a right to life!

Time was. Before they went on the attack. But matters have “progressed” too far. They’re openly maneuvering for the power to kill, enslave, and expropriate without let or hindrance. The violence in the cities is merely the most visible manifestation.

Note that in nearly all the riot-torn cities, the “forces of order” have stood aside while the rioters have rampaged. When they’ve acted, it’s usually been against people who dared to oppose the rioters with weapons, such as the McCloskeys of St. Louis. That puts the “forces of order” on the side of the rioters and despoilers: Communists de facto, despite their badges and uniforms.

Think about what’s being done to Kyle Rittenhouse, because he used lethal force to defend himself from a potentially lethal assault by a marauding gang. Put yourself in his place…because as sure as the Sun will rise tomorrow, if we remain on the defensive while the Left presses its attack, you will be.

Ordinary, normal Americans, being decent, peaceable, civilized sorts rather than deranged zealots, are extremely reluctant to own up to the harsher realities of our time, which include:

  • The escalation of opponents into enemies
  • The steadily increasing aggression of a fanatical foe long accustomed to victory, emboldened by the transparently fraudulent 2020 election
  • The comprehensive corruption and lawlessness of every branch, department, agency, and bureaucracy of the federal Leviathan
  • The marrow-deep hatred, intolerance, and ruthlessness of an implacable enemy driven by one desire alone: the wholesale destruction of America as founded, every last thing it represents, and all who still revere it
  • The betrayal of a treacherous political party they had long trusted to oppose, resist, and hinder the Democrat-Socialists, rather than colluding and cooperating with them
  • The wearing stress of being relentlessly defamed, denounced, shunned, mocked, threatened, and even physically assaulted—of being unable to avoid political conflict every minute of every hour of every day, subject to ceaseless harrassment and harangues without hope of respite

Confronting those ugly realities, and plenty more besides, can’t be avoided or shied from for very much longer without those decent, good-hearted, reluctant Normals putting themselves in serious jeopardy. In truth, they already are in jeopardy. Unfortunately, the currents of history are powerful, indifferent, and far beyond human ability to direct or defy. Normal Americans must choose whether they will confront unpleasant reality and defend their birthright, or be swept off and overcome by history’s cold current.

The entire world has been more than adequately schooled in Communism’s black history, which teaches that to countenance its spread is to invite societal catastrophe. Despite my own fondness for it, nowhere in the Bible does the phrase “Thou shalt not suffer a Communist to live” actually appear. Perhaps the Good Book needs to be revised to include it. Or, in the words of another original adage of mine: It’s never too early to start shooting Commies. But it CAN be too late, and nobody ever did himself any favors by procrastinating.
