Had enough of them yet?

FOAD, you corrupt, lying, kiddie-diddling, senile old rapist.

Speaking from the Rose Garden today at the White House, President Joe Biden celebrated the new guidelines issued by the CDC lifting mask requirements for people who are fully vaccinated, crediting his administration’s vaccination program with dramatically reducing the impact of the coronavirus.

Biden declared, “The rule is very simple: get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do. The choice is yours,” later tweeting out these words as well.

Izzat so, NotMyPresident Gropey? Well, here’s a counteroffer for you.

I:

  • WILL do exactly as I please, as usual, without reference to or regard for your own opinion or preferences
  • WILL NOT be wearing a fucking mask
  • WILL go wherever I want, whenever I want
  • WILL NOT allow myself to be shot up with your precious “vaccine,” under any circumstances whatsoever
  • WILL ignore all edicts, decrees, commands, and imperatives from the likes of you
  • WILL ridicule you; defy you; oppose and/or undermine you, your minions, and all your works; and hold you in profoundest contempt till my dying breath

YOU:

  • WILL NOT be able to successfully and safely negotiate a short flight of stairs
  • WILL babble incomprehensibly into the microphone the second the drugs begin to wear off
  • WILL NOT be entirely sure of who you are, where you are, and what you’re doing ever again, for the rest of your miserable life
  • WILL forever remain not—as you may flatter yourself in your increasingly-few lucid moments—”the leader of the free world,” but an international laughingstock, butt of jokes and object of scorn and ridicule among your fellow bottom-feeders, rumpswabs, and parasites
  • WILL NOT enjoy a moment’s respect, deference, or obedience from me—ever
  • WILL continue to publicly beclown yourself on a daily basis

So howzabout it there, Gropester? We got ourselves a deal here or what? In the event that we do not, please feel free to go piss up a rope.

“The rule is.” My GOD, the balls on these slimewads.

Fairy tales & necessary illusions

People who aren’t looking will never see.

“Land of the free, home of the brave.”

“The Constitution ensures Americans receive due process.”

“Equal justice under the law is a hallmark of the American justice system.”

“We have a government restrained by checks and balances.”

“They hate us for our freedoms.”

“If I put my tooth under my pillow, the tooth fairy will come and exchange it for a dollar bill.”

By now most Americans, minus perpetually ignorant boomers and five-year-olds, know the above statements are fairy tales. Not necessarily on the level of Grimm’s scary nightmare tales, more like big white lies and obsolete constructs repeated in unison by propagandists in order to make us feel good so we don’t ask too many questions.

In the information security business, there is a saying that security by obscurity is no security at all—meaning hiding from hackers is not a winning security strategy. The parallel to this in politics is anonymity is freedom. In other words, I am free as long as the tyrant doesn’t know I exist.

The reality, however, is one can never get small enough or anonymous enough to be free from evil when evil rules the land. Freedom through anonymity is not real freedom—it’s merely an illusion. Illusions are the bread and butter of the tyrant—for if the masses knew the truth they would be ungovernable and the tyrant’s life would be, in Hobbesian terms, a nasty, brutish, and short affair. Because of this, the tyrant strives to keep the necessary illusions alive in the minds of the common people. One of the biggest illusions traditional America clings to right now is that it still retains constitutional rights recognized and respected by its government in Washington, D.C.

In the 1989 classic sports fantasy movie “Field of Dreams,” Kevin Costner’s character, an Iowa corn farmer, repeatedly hears a voice whispering “If you build it, they will come,”—“it” being a baseball diamond.  So, despite the craziness of the idea, Costner plows under a portion of his corn crop and builds a baseball field and—long story short—a bunch of old-time baseball heroes show up and play a game . . . his farm is saved from foreclosure, families are reunited, and happy endings all around.

We all like stories with happy endings, but someone, or rather some people, applied the mantra “if you build it, they will come” to the wrong dream. They decided to build the infrastructure of a tyranny—and voilà, guess who showed up? Tyrants.

The following section opens with a truly succulent line—”Enter the shitshow that was the George W. Bush Administration”—before moving on to a chilling examination of a quiet Bush-admin rule change that basically grants the FBI complete carte blanche to launch open-ended, unrestrained investigations into any American they want, with neither accountability nor Congressional oversight, predicated on…well, on nothing whatsoever.

Trust me: as cynical as you may think you already are about the FBI, you ain’t anywhere NEAR cynical enough. It all comes down to this.

Right now, traditional Americans are under attack by a ruling elite empowered by the weaponized institutions of justice in America. We are accused of being extremists, terrorists, racists, and white supremacists—all without a shred of actual evidence. Like Kafka’s The Trial, our denials are considered evidence of our crimes. In reality, all of this is merely an attempt to intimidate the elite’s political opposition. Their goal is to silence traditional America as they take control of our once free and independent nation in order to pursue the objectives of an unaccountable oligarchy. Make no mistake, the elites are shouting the command “submit” and preparing to force us into acquiescing to our own destruction.

Traditional Americans should consider the consequences of what is coming. If an FBI agent approaches your employer and claims you are a potential violent extremist, how do you think your employer will react? Do you think you will still have a job at the end of the week? What about your neighbors? If an FBI agent makes the rounds in your neighborhood and inquiries about your alleged extremist proclivities, do you think your neighbors will still invite you over for the 4th of July BBQ? What happens when the FBI recruits your neighbors or your children’s teachers as informants? What happens when they park an obvious surveillance element outside your house 24/7 for everyone, including you, to see? How can you defend yourself from what is effectively a whisper campaign, the sole purpose of which is to destroy your life and make an example of you for other Americans to see?

When government agents can circumvent your due process rights without any legal predicate, you are no longer a free citizen; you are a subject in a tyranny. Traditional Americans need to understand that this is the case right now. You may believe you are free because you are still relatively anonymous to the tyrant, and that is likely true, right up until the point it isn’t.

Thankfully, this time Morton resists the temptation to lapse into any of the “Vote harderer!” folly he’s succumbed to in some of his previous outings. Maybe, having manfully faced up to the grim facts of life in Amerika v2.0 in the year of our Lord 2021 AD, it’s finally dawned on him how very little “elections” actually amount to under the sway of illegitimate, systemically corrupt, tyrannical regimes.

Roadmap to Hell

Myron Magnet, editor at the esteemed City Journal, provides a full synopsis of the numerous wrong turns it took to arrive at a supremely unpleasant destination.

To gauge how unbridgeable the gulf is that divides the American Left from the Right, rewind to February 19, 2009, when those who eventually elected Donald Trump first made their voices heard. As Washington jury-rigged fixes for the Great Financial Crisis, the CNBC broadcaster Rick Santelli shouted across the Chicago Mercantile Exchange floor, “How many of you people want to pay for your neighbor’s mortgage that has an extra bathroom and can’t pay their bills?” The Merc traders roared their televised veto across the land.

Their cry was more visceral than a policy disagreement. The traders, self-made men, had worked hard for what they had and scorned having their taxes hiked to save homebuyers with imprudently high mortgages from foreclosure. “This is America!” Santelli urged, and what the new Obama administration was doing was un-American. Didn’t the Founding Fathers establish the federal government to guarantee one’s freedom to better one’s condition, and to protect the property one industriously earns—not to redistribute it?

That’s why Santelli added that he was planning a Chicago Tea Party, an update of Boston’s 1773 event. He and the traders felt the same outrage George Washington had felt about the Stamp Act and the tea tax: it was as lawless as Parliament picking his pocket. To the new-era Tea Partiers, taxation for redistribution, rather than for common purposes, is tyranny, not government by consent.

But, though the traders and Tea Partiers didn’t quite understand it, the federal government long ago had turned from the shield of individual liberty into a vast engine of redistribution. That transformation could occur because the Framers’ Constitution was body-snatched by the doctrine of the “living constitution,” which—as Woodrow Wilson first formulated it—saw the Supreme Court sitting as a permanent Constitutional Convention, making up laws as it went along, heedless of the 1787 scheme’s checks. Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal used Wilson’s doctrine as a license to remake America’s economy and society. Once the Supreme Court buckled to fdr’s threat to pack it and started voting his way, the justices allowed an utterly foreign governmental structure to devour the Framers’ republic from within, until it broke out of the shell as something altogether different.

Not that FDR was entirely frank about his transformative enterprise. Where Wilson had dismissed the Framers as obsolete relics in a Darwinian age, Roosevelt claimed to extend their great work even as he undid it. In his second inaugural address of 1937, he hailed the 150th anniversary of the Constitutional Convention, which had “created a strong government with powers of united action sufficient then and now to solve problems utterly beyond individual or local solution”—a wildly false characterization. Chastened by America’s near-loss in the Revolution, the Framers sought to create a government strong enough to protect national and individual independence but not so strong that, given mankind’s inherent power-hunger, it could become what they called an “elective despotism.” So they limited that power to such clearly enumerated tasks as raising an army, a navy, and taxes; coining and borrowing money; and regulating foreign and interstate commerce. All other matters they emphatically left to “individual or local solution.”

They certainly didn’t mean to put the whole U.S. economy under federal regulation. But as FDR later admitted, when he took the oath to defend the Constitution just before delivering the 1937 address, he had wanted to shout, “Yes, but it’s the Constitution as I understand it.” The New Deal’s main thrust, after all, was precisely to take total control of the economy, under the ruse of federal power to regulate interstate commerce.

For one who projected such jaunty optimism, FDR had a surprisingly gloomy view of America’s future. The nation’s great days of discovery and invention, when government needed only to keep out of the way, were behind it, he thought. Now, Depression-stunned America had produced more than its purportedly underpaid workers could afford to consume, as FDR inaccurately saw it. America’s task now, he said, “is the soberer, less dramatic business of administering resources and plants already in hand,…of distributing wealth and products more equitably, of adapting existing economic organizations to the service of the people. The day of enlightened administration has come.” The bureaucrat would take over from the business titan.

As the crux of this truly magnificent piece, Magnet proposes three stages of what he calls “America’s mutation into a redistributionist welfare state,” moving next to Stage Two: the comprehensively destructive reign of one Lyndon Baines Johnson, one of the most unethical, sleazy, and generally repellent ProPols ever to besmirch American politics. This section includes a paragraph that, hard as I’m trying not to excerpt excessively here, I can’t refrain from posting:

Do you wonder why a plague of human-resources busybodies has scourged the land, or why so many institutions have become bureaucracies staffed by apparatchiks, whereas until recently doctors still ran hospitals, professors ran universities, and entrepreneurs without MBAs ran many businesses? A New Deal and a Great Society have left us, as Tocqueville predicted such centralized power would, with “a fine mesh of uniform, minute, and complex rules” that “inhibits, represses, saps, stultifies, and in the end reduces each nation to nothing but a timid and industrious flock of animals, with the government as its shepherd.” More power to the Tea Partiers, then, for recalling the spirit of ’76.

Brilliant man, that Tocqueville. The LBJ chapter closes with a grim summation:

While the Sixties’ War on Poverty failed, its Culture War succeeded. Today, the bosses of America’s institutions are cultural-revolution veterans or their acolytes, and, as their own students and children survey the arid acres of housing projects, where generations of lives have improved not one whit as LBJ’s dream turned to ashes, and the dumbed-down campuses where affirmative action kids still struggle and complain, they are reviving all the mistaken 1960s notions and launching a renewed assault on America’s culture that marks the third stage of the dismantling of the Founders’ republic. As they don’t know that the original cultural revolution wreaked much of the inner-city damage that they deplore, they can’t foresee the further harm they will inflict on black Americans and the entire nation as well. Watching the goofily optimistic worldview of long ago now ossify into a party line that resembles Mao’s cultural revolution or Nineteen Eighty-Four‘s Ministry of Truth is almost enough to make one believe that a malign god, with a vicious, Nietzschean heart, mockingly presides over history.

Hard not to, really. Myself, I always kinda liked the trouble-making Nordic Trickster God, Loki—”deity of mayhem and mischief,” as this site has it, who wasn’t really so much “malign” as he was rebellious and unpredictable. Anyhoo.

From there, it’s on to today’s preposterous, brain-dead Cultural Revolution, before coming full-circle back around to the Founders.

The Founding Fathers stressed that their republic rested not only on the Constitution’s political arrangements but also on the hearts and minds of the citizens, where the love of liberty and the truths of the Declaration of Independence are inscribed. Should Americans lose these habits of the heart, then the power-hungry men who cluster around politics like flies might impose the elective despotism the Founders feared. That’s why they cared so passionately about civic education: they had created something unique in history, and they wanted posterity to understand the high worth of that inheritance, to preserve and improve it. They believed that assent to the Founding’s culture of liberty, to its core truths of equality before the law and equality of rights, would be enough to forge a unified nation out of what was already an ethnically diverse people.

They weren’t naive about propaganda or its power. By George Washington’s presidency, America had a gutter press as partisan as The New York Times or The Washington Post. But the Founders didn’t foresee an all-out falsification of the fact of American exceptionalism such as now rages, and I think the success of the cultural subversion would have surprised them, like the octogenarian Jefferson, who had to remonstrate with the misbehaving students at his beloved University of Virginia, of which he was the founder and rector. He stepped onto the stage, opened his mouth to voice his disappointment with these unruly inheritors of republican liberty, and burst into tears.

Can anybody blame him? Although he’d have probably gotten much better results if, rather than letting his ill-mannered students get under his skin, he’d just whipped out a gat and shot the rotten bastards instead.

As I already told ya, this article is a real masterpiece, one for the ages. It’s long, deep, and superbly written and conceived. If you only read one thing I link to this whole week, it oughta be this.

ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

Of course she does. They ALL do, and always have; the hoary old “I’m a hunter myself” nonsense was never anything but a deception, and if you didn’t know it before now you’re a damned idiot. The only thing new is that, at this point, a lengthy string of unchallenged wins has left them so suffused with confidence that they no longer feel any need to go on lying about it.

TBS’s Sam Bee Just Says It: I ‘Want to Take your Guns’

So do it then, cunt. I beg you: please, please, PLEASE do it. Stop with the threats and just DO IT already, ferchrissakes. Let’s all find out how that works out for you and yours in the end.

“Full Frontal Wants to Take Your Guns,” to air at 10:30 p.m. EST May 12, will allegedly explore ways to reduce gun violence now.

The PR statement on the upcoming special is as biased as the show itself, a veritable DNC extension.

“Full Frontal Wants To Take Your Guns” … will explore how appalling and frankly stupid it is that we as Americans are told there’s simply nothing we can do about gun violence. Don’t even get us started on the whole “good guy with a gun” thing. It’s high time to figure out how America’s gun problem got this bad, and what we as citizens of this glorious mess can do to help fix it.

“The fact that 316 people are victims of gun violence in the United States every single day makes me want to Zoom call every politician in this country and just scream at them,” says Bee. “But the polite Canadian in me won’t actually allow me to raise my voice, so we’re doing the comedy special equivalent of that instead.”

Bee’s Full Frontal showcase, a cavalcade of hateful, hard-left talking points, cannot be trusted to share the whole story on gun violence and possible solutions. Progressive comedy exists, in part, to push partisan goals and dodge fact checks.

Bee’s upcoming show is just part of the comedy Left’s war on guns.

This is the point where most Righty pundits get busy puking up a ton of facts, figures, and statistics to prove to the Progtards how utterly full of shit they truly are, but y’know what? I’m all done with such useless circle-jerkery. The Left doesn’t care, ain’t listening anyhow, and hasn’t the least intention of letting any piffling facts get in the way of realizing their eternal ambitions.

No, the time for talk is well and truly over. Further one-sided “debate” with these “people” is worse than a waste of time, and we all know it is. Time to settle the issue once and for all. Put your money where your big fat mouths are, shitlibs. Either that, or shut the fucking fuck up. No more trying to teach the pig to sing.

Come and take them, or die trying; I don’t give a shit which it turns out to be anymore, if I ever did. Trust me, there’s a great many of us who feel the same way about it. They’re as tired as I am of this bootless, never-ending round-and-round with you, and are quite ready, willing, and eager to settle your fucking hash.

SO, then. Challenge: accepted.

Let’s get it on.

Boot on our necks, forever amen

I take no pleasure in saying this, believe me I don’t, but…told ya so.

Remember when Dr. Fauci said masks don’t work?

Now Fauci is suggesting mask-wearing will become permanent.

Fauci appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday and told host Chuck Todd that thanks to mask-wearing, the seasonal flu was pretty much non-existent this year.

The seasonal flu was just recoded into Covid so medical facilities can make more money, but Fauci gets paid big bucks to lie and push CCP propaganda so here we are.

“We’ve had practically a non-existent flu season this year merely because people were doing the kinds of public health things that were directed predominantly against COVID-19,” Fauci said with a straight face.

“So it is conceivable that as we go on, a year or two or more from now, that during certain seasonal periods when you have respiratory-borne viruses like the flu, people might actually elect to wear masks to diminish the likelihood that you’ll spread these respiratory-borne diseases,” Fauci added.

The Covid tyranny stops when we say it stops.

Well, perhaps. Then again, perhaps not. The trouble is, we now have a tremendous portion of the population who has been thoroughly conditioned and have now been broken in the same sense wild horses are. “Americans” have accepted the bit; they’re more inclined to cowardice and submission than to sturdy self-determination in the first place, and will not only be perfectly fine with making the Mask Of Submission a permanent fixture of Amerikan life, they will vehemently insist on it. You can be sure that the Fauxvid panic-ninnies will raise eight flavors of ruckus should it not be made so, and will continue on shamelessly hectoring and harassing those who refuse to comply.

There was a time when I myself regularly echoed Laila’s line that it “stops when we say it stops.” With every passing day, though, it becomes more apparent that relatively passive resistance isn’t going to suffice to free us unless and until physical violence, up close and personal, becomes part of the equation. Maybe those Karens and Kens would relent if they suddenly found themselves on the hurty end of a knuckle sandwich every time they opened their smarmy yaps to start in on some poor schlub possessed of the outrageous temerity to insist on living as if this was still a free country or something.

The grand experiment in authoritarianism facilitated by hysterical panic over a decidedly unexceptional flu bug turned out to be successful beyond a wannabe despot’s wildest dreams. All the puzzle pieces for perpetual tyranny are now firmly in place, which means more extreme measures will be required if it is ever to be disassembled and put back in its proper box. As in so very many other contexts, by putting off a reckoning instead of facing reality and just getting on with it, we have only made our struggle more difficult than it might have been. Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt; it’s also an invitation no tyrant will ever refuse—a wide-open door that they will forever be happy to walk through and make themselves right at home.

Update! Give ’em an inch, and they’ll take…absolutely everything.

So spare me the tired and easily refuted claim that our current situation is simply a scientific response to a dangerous disease. Similar responses to dangerous situations would never be accepted, and would trigger immediate and appropriate legal responses. Just imagine if Fredo The Elder (Andrew Cuomo) announced that until the murder rate in the worst precincts in NYC dropped to the background level of the rest of the country, all people above a certain age were subject to search for weapons. Or that policemen would be posted in every supermarket to search all morbidly overweight people for prohibited foods.

Those are ridiculous and unacceptable examples of government overreach, yet we are currently tolerating similar insults to our rights, and looming on the horizon are even more insidious measures. Vaccine passports, segregation of the vaccinated from the unvaccinated, and many more degradations of our rights as free people are coming, and soon.

How different is a vaccine passport compared to the yellow star of Nazi Germany, or a letter from the Red Guards allowing travel to the cities, or an ID card allowing one entrance into a communist party food store in Moscow?

The advent of incredibly fast computers, completely interconnected, and vast databases that can be accessed from literally anywhere with a cellular connection makes the Nazis and the Soviets and the Chinese communists mere dilettantes compared to the current surveillance state.

Papers could be forged…badges could be manufactured…the authorities could be evaded (at least for a time). But how many of us have the technical knowledge and skills to evade a vaccine passport requirement? Or avoid being tracked with our cell phones and internet log-ons and electronic toll systems and credit cards and facial recognition systems and license plate readers and on and on and on.

We are in the midst of a profound shift to authoritarian rule, but this time the tools available to those in power are orders of magnitude more powerful than even the infamous East German Ministry For State Security had!

The dystopian novels of the past predicted exactly this, but they were warnings…and we ignored them.

Oh, we’re hardly “in the midst” of said profound shift, I’d say. What we’re in now is the final stage of it, when the cleaning crew comes in to sweep up whatever’s left of American liberty before its light is extinguished for the long, dark night.

“Socialist revolution is underway in America”

UNDERWAY?

America is now in the midst of a communist revolution that is trying to centralize power through bringing every element of the U.S. government, from the lowest levels to the top, under the control of the executive branch, said author and filmmaker Trevor Loudon.

“Therefore, the independence of the legislature, the independence of the supreme court, the independence of the sheriffs and the police must all be destroyed, and the loyalty of the army to the Constitution must be transferred to loyalty to the president,” Loudon said in an interview with The Epoch Times’ Crossroads program.

“And this is guided by socialists. I believe it’s guided by the Communist Party of China,” Loudon said. The revolution uses race “rather than class to overturn the existing structures of society and start something new.”

Lots, lots, LOTS more good stuff at the link, most of which has been said before in this h’yar hogwallow. That doesn’t mean it ain’t worth reading anyway, though.

Update! Only barely related, perhaps, but since it’s from Loudon’s website, that’s close enough.

Just when the Republicans are poised to dump Rep. Liz Cheney from House GOP leadership, they are embracing ex-masculine man Caitlyn Jenner as a candidate for Governor of California. Caitlyn, once known as Bruce, immediately went on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show in high heels to be crowned as the new conservative white trans hope.

The GOP will evolve from the status of the stupid party into the pansy party, driving real men away and giving a confusing message about masculinity.

The endorsement of the faux woman Jenner comes on the eve of Mother’s Day, May 9, when real women are celebrated for giving birth to real boys and girls.

Any nation that wants to survive into the future has to reproduce boys and girls, not make boys into girls.

On the heels of his/her Hannity appearance, the conservative-oriented Just the News website proclaimed, “Jenner lays out conservative platform in bid to become next California governor,” with a subheadline about the candidate describing herself as “pro-law enforcement,” “pro-border protection,” and “pro-ICE.”

He/she was quick to proclaim, “No boys in girls sports,” appealing to conservatives who believe in biological differences between the sexes. But since this is a woman who was once a man, a famous Olympic athlete, one has to wonder what’s going on here. It’s either a publicity stunt or a Democratic Party plot to make Republicans look silly.

Heh. As if they needed any help. In anyt event, I must strongly disagree with Jenner’s position on that last, and applaud this welcome development.

A biological male will be allowed to compete at an Olympics weightlifting competition in the women’s super heavyweight category.

Laurel Hubbard, a 43-year-old New Zealander, used to compete in men’s weightlifting but after repeatedly losing he ‘transitioned’ in 2013 and now competes against women.

Hubbard is eligible to compete in the Olympics because “the IOC issued new guidelines allowing transgenders to compete as women as long as their testosterone levels are below 10 nanomoles per liter for at least 12 months before the competition,” Reuters reported.

Hubbard has angered many in the weightlifting world in the last several years, and rightfully so.

Good, good. Seeing as how we’ve been strongarmed into full compliance with the feminazi shibboleth declaring that there is NO difference between the sexes—NONE—as well as swallowing whole the contention of unhinged transvestites that to believe oneself female is to in fact be female, it would be a gross injustice to disallow this mediocre-as-a-man lifter from “transitioning” into a world-beater in the wymrynz’ competition.

In fact, in obeisance to the new “reality” foisted onto us by deranged freaks, I see absolutely no reason whatsoever that satisfactorily-evolved Persynxz should tolerate separate sportsball leagues, events, or classifications of any kind. I ask you all: aren’t female-only entities such as the WNBA, college women’s softball teams, GLOW, etc the living definition of segregation? And has segregation not been universally recognized, since the hallowed Civil Rights movement of the 1960s, as completely intolerable, the Sin of all Sins? Do we or do we not believe in equality as the most quintessentially American of ideals?

One of Kurt Schlichter’s perennial favorites is his New Rules trope, which is kinda-sorta an inversion of Alinsky’s Rule 4, a way to turn it back on Progressivists: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” And hey, as someone who has long advocated fighting fire with fire, I’m good with that. So yeah, let men compete as whichever of Baskin-Robbins 37 Flavors Of Gender (and counting!) they “identify” as that particular day. Let burly bull-daggers try out for interior linemen in the NFL if that’s what they think they want to do. Let boxers be classified according to weight exclusively, leaving sex out of it altogether as the archaic artifact of misogynist, patriarchal bigotry they tell us it is. As a forward-looking, tolerant, Progressivist society, let our minds be open so wide our damned brains fall out.

Let’s make the feminazis embrace the principles they profess—no exceptions, no exemptions, no set-asides or special privileges. Let’s make every last shitlib Leftard live up to their own rules at long, long last. Let’s see how they like it.

An old story

VERY old—2500 years, at the very least.

The vulnerability of political freedom and popular sovereignty to tyranny has been a constant theme in political philosophy for 2500 years. It profoundly influenced the creators of the Constitution, an important purpose of which is to forestall the tyranny that destroys political freedom and citizen rule. In the writings of Classical philosophers and historians the Founders could see the blueprint for such a tyranny––one we have seen unfolding in the last few decades, and accelerating in the policies of the current administration.

The Greek historian Polybius in the second century B.C. laid out how a democracy degenerates into tyranny:

So when [the rich] begin to hanker after office, and find that they cannot achieve it through their own efforts or on their merits, they begin to seduce and corrupt the people in every possible way, and thus ruin their estates. The result is that through their senseless craving for prominence they stimulate among the masses both an appetite for bribes and the habit of receiving them, and then the rule of democracy is transformed into government by violence and strong-arm methods. By this time the people have become accustomed to feed at the expense of others, and their prospects of winning a livelihood depend upon the property of their neighbors, and as soon as they find a leader who is sufficiently ambitious and daring…they introduce a regime based on violence.

Many of these preconditions already exist in our country.

A litany of specifics follows, all of which will no doubt be familiar to CF Lifers, before the piece closes out with the part I really wanted to get to:

Finally, Polybius’ link of tyrannic ambition to mediocre politicians who “hanker after office, and find that they cannot achieve it through their own efforts or on their merits,” describes Biden to a T. Biden is a long-time senator with few legislative achievements he still will own, a vicious pit-bull on the Senate Judiciary Committee where he shamelessly demagogued Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas, a plagiarizer and unseemly harasser of women, a two-time loser in his bid for the presidency, a fabulist and grifter who monetized the office of Vice President to enrich his family, and a lightweight so light that his own boss, Barack Obama, said, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck things up.” Only a pandemic, disruptive lock-downs, and the Democrat primary threat of socialist Bernie Sanders––along with a probably fraudulent election, and a groveling media running interference–– could get such a meritless mediocrity into the Oval Office.

It made me giggle a little, seeing those one-hundred-percent-true-and-accurate characterizations all gathered together in one convenient paragraph. How bizarre that the wholly lackluster, unpleasant, and talentless C-list actor Biden had been stalled in the role of The Guy Nobody Wanted for so many years, only to suddenly find himself recast by the producers of the show as The Guy Everybody Would Accept just as the final curtain was falling.

An oligarchy, if you can keep it

Not sure why anybody would want to.

What are hundreds of America’s biggest corporations doing as they browbeat the public to abolish the requirement of identification for voting? What are Twitter, Facebook, et al. doing when they prohibit people from sharing facts that are inconvenient to government policy or (and) the Democratic Party? What did banks do when they turned over to the FBI the records of persons who happened to have traveled to D.C. near January 6? And what about all those big retail stores—you know, the ones that the government designated “essential,” the ones that thrived under the lockdowns—what are they doing when they continue to demand that you wear masks on their property regardless of vaccination? What are colleges and universities, even K-12 schools doing when they deprive of opportunities young people who do not fit woke profiles? And what do all of them do when they dismiss complaints that they are violating your Constitutional rights by telling you that they are exercising their own private rights?

Are they simply fronting for the government or, specifically, for the Democratic Party?

Wait, you’re telling me there’s a difference?

Understanding what is happening in America begins with dismissing such silly questions. Focus, instead, on the fact that those who rule us in all these matters are essentially the same people. They are interchangeable, with near-identical interests, loves, hates, and tastes. Often, they are friends and colleagues, and are united about coercing whomever is not on their own sociopolitical side. Whether the institutions they control are public or private under our Constitutional system has ceased to matter. These persons are responsible for the sharp diminution in all manner of freedoms we have experienced since at least 2016, and especially since 2020.

Americans struggle to understand what is happening because we still regard ourselves as citizens, and imagine that those who run our republican institutions still respect them to some extent. We see persons whom the ruling class favors committing crimes with impunity, and complain of “a two-tiered justice system.” But this is not mere corruption. We see corporations wielding government powers and complain that power is being franchised to favorites. But these are not mere favorites of the regime. This is the new regime being itself. Such things are not deviations from republican legality. They are the assertion of oligarchic reality. This is oligarchic justice, oligarchic normality. The republic was yesterday. The oligarchy is today.

Conservatives’ congenital mistake is to try conserving something that no longer exists by supporting institutions that now belong to a regime so alien to republican life that it treats attempts at citizenship as crimes against the regime. And so they are. They call today’s American regime “our democracy.” It is “theirs,” all right, but not ours. It is a classic oligarchy.

I must admit that I’m constantly guilty myself of a classification error when it comes to what specific flavor of tyranny we’re now being strangled by, usually referring to it as Marxist, socialist, Communist, what have you—perhaps for convenience’s sake, or out of laziness, or just force of habit. As with the increasingly meaningless Left-Right dichotomy, everyone knows what I mean by it, so there’s no real harm done. Nonetheless, it’s linguistically and conceptually sloppy, a fact I’m well aware of. In truth, the most accurate name for Amerika v2.0’s current system would have to be fascism.

Oligarchy also meets the case well enough, being more or less a sub-branch of fascism itself, so I have no bone to pick with Codevilla to this point. But I’m about to.

What’s an Ex-citizen To Do?
First, stop pretending. Begin by rejecting—in heart and mind entirely, and publicly as prudence may dictate—the authority of the oligarchs who now control what used to be our republican institutions. Realize that you enjoy the rights God gave you only to the extent that your fellow ex-citizens recognize them, and that your only hope of continuing enjoyment lies in leaguing with them, on turning your back on the oligarchy and on effectively living republican lives with similarly minded people.

Citizenship is possible only when the many join together in the kind of mixed regime for the general good that our oligarchs rejected. Turning our backs to the oligarchy is possible for the twin purpose of rejecting un-republican rule and as the assertion of a new republican way of life. Citizenship happens when individuals join together under leaders of their choice to achieve common goals, both positive and negative.

Rejection of oligarchy is possible, even easy, if and when large numbers of persons do it together.

“Easy”? Oh, sure…right up until the moment forty masked FBI goons in full battle-rattle kick in your door in the wee hours of the night, then proceed to haul you and yours off to the Googlag™ for a lengthy stretch of retributive “justice” for your willful nonconformity. “Rejection of oligarchy” suddenly gets a lot tougher then.

Our oligarchs, having seen how easy it was to cower the majority of Americans to agree to the stupid, self-destructive practices of mask-wearing and lockdowns, having rejoiced in ruining the lives of small numbers of individual dissenters, believing that, under the media’s cover, their threats to crush opponents as white supremacists will forestall serious resistance, fantasize about applying the tools of the war on terror to America’s population.

But no. Their success was due to what remained of the American people’s confidence in them. That is now gone. The oligarchs have the FBI and CIA, and the Pentagon’s generals. But who will risk his pension, never mind his life, for them? Who will risk anything for Kamala Harris, never mind Joseph Biden?

Wrong question, Angelo. The one we should be asking is: who will dare to risk his freedom, his financial well-being, and even his very life to defy them?

Biden and his Deep State puppeteers know that their success is due not to the American people’s—or anybody else’s—confidence or trust, and they’re not troubled in the least by it. Their contempt for the Slave Class is deep enough that our masters are perfectly fine with a continued grip on unlimited power based entirely on intimidation, oppression, and fear instead.

A terrifyingly familiar conformity

The voice of experience.

Cuban refugee: Americans have digested ‘poison pill of communism’
Former Cuban refugee Maximo Alvarez warned in a speech at the Republican National Convention last summer that many Americans have swallowed the “poison pill” of communism, but now he says they’ve “digested” it.

In an interview Wednesday with Lisa Boothe, he recalled witnessing during his childhood dictator Fidel Castro’s elimination of human rights, the Daily Wire reported.

Alvarez fled to the United States in 1961 under Operation Peter Pan.

Many other emigres from communist nations also are speaking out, warning they are seeing in the United States some of the same developments that eventually caused them to flee their homelands.

Among them is the famous Soviet dissident Natan Sharansky, who wrote an essay published in February titled “The Doublethinkers.”

He said that in “assessing my own liberation, I recall a conformity that feels terrifyingly familiar today.”

Alvarez address the RNC last August in the wake of Bernie Sanders’ declaration that his “revolution” has mainstreamed policies once thought extreme in the Democratic Party.

“I’m speaking to you today because I’ve seen people like this before,” Alvarez said.

“I’ve seen movements like this before. I’ve seen ideas like this before, and I’m here to tell you, we cannot let them take over our country.”

Don’t look now, friend, but I’m afraid that ship has long since sailed. Which leaves us here:

From my cold, dead hands

Which terms, don’t let’s kid ourselves, will be perfectly acceptable to the rotten fascist bastards.

So the oligarchs had Biden mask up and meet our other rulers, via Zoom, to discuss our next big panic. Global cooling.

According to one report, “President Joe Biden’s ambitious plan to slash greenhouse emissions by 50 to 52 percent over the next decade could prompt sweeping changes that could affect how Americans eat, drive and heat their homes.”

Smash!

How Biden smash? Biden take charge! By taking away your meat and having you consume oligarch-owned corporate-produced high-margin food-like plant-and-chemical-based concoctions. Yes, the oligarchs will grow wealthier once you’re forced to give up the healthiest food there is, but you will do your part in ensuring global cooling doesn’t contribute to a tenth of a degree change in globally averaged temperature in the next century.

Specifically (same source):

Americans may have to cut their red meat consumption by a whopping 90 percent and cut their consumption of other animal based foods in half.

Gradually making those changes by 2030 could see diet-related greenhouse gas emissions reduced by 50 percent, according to a study by Michigan University’s Center for Sustainable Systems.

To do that, it would require Americans to only consume about four pounds of red meat per year, or 0.18 ounces per day.

It equates to consuming roughly one average sized burger per month.

What would all those corporate-owned burger joints do, complain? No, sir. They’ll make the switch to chemical cuts and serve up “impossible” and “beyond meat” “burgers”. And charge more for them, likely, to both increase their profits and convince you it’s your fear-based duty to pay more and “save the planet”.

My dears, the planet isn’t going anywhere and is no need of saving.

Doesn’t matter, of course. The Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly “the weather”) hoax is a subterfuge, a flimsy mask covering their real agenda.

The University of Michigan, as you have seen, is given credit for some of these “studies.” The Beyond Meat company commissioned one such study from UM’s “Center for Sustainable Systems“. And Lo, this study found—or is discovered more appropriate?—Beyond Meat good, real meat bad.

…Let’s look at the “study”, commissioned by Beyond Meat in their quest to discover whether real meat was better or worse than the fake meat they were selling. What do you think they found—or discovered—in this study? This:

Based on a comparative assessment of the current Beyond Burger production system with the 2017 beef LCA by Thoma et al, the Beyond Burger generates 90% less greenhouse gas emissions, requires 46% less energy, has >99% less impact on water scarcity and 93% less impact on land use than a 1/4 pound of U.S. beef.

So important was this finding—or discovery—they used italics to announce it. That’s how you know it’s true.

Looks like money well spent for Beyond Meat! But don’t applaud yet, because there’s more!

The Center for Sustainable Systems kept at it, finding—or discovering—meat accounts for “56.6%” of “greenhouse gases contribution by food type in [an] average diet.” Not 56.5%. No way. It was much more serious. It was 56.6%. That level of numeric specificity is what makes it science.

The saddest part, I think, is what will predictably follow this opening round of battlespace prep. First, we’ll get the usual comment-section chest-thumpery at various Righty blogs, stoutly declaring that Biden’s Deep State wardens “WOULDN’T DARE” do this, or “cannot” do it, because Muh Constitution! and miscellaneous other wishful thinking. Then comes the defiant op-ed nattering about how WE’RE REALLY GONNA GET THOSE DEMOCRATS, by electing more Republicans in the elections of 2022, 2024, 2026, 2028, &c &c. Yep, those damned Commies are really gonna rue the day after we take back Congress again! Next up: a steaming, stinking pantload of the they’re scared of us! because we have all the guns! variety of blah de blah de blahblahblah.

The result of all this self-deceptive pud-pounding? In only a few short years, “Independence Day” cookouts across this benighted disgrace of a nation (assuming official government permission) will see all those obstreperous self-proclaimed guardians of liberty happily chomping away on delicious, Gaia-preserving “burgers” made in a corporate chem lab from crushed cockroaches, lawnmower leftovers, toenail clippings, and Soylent Green, in the most grand and glorious celebration of Our Precious ‘Murkin Freedom™ ever. The disgusting things would probably taste somewhat better if they were grilled over some good ol’ traditional Kingsford briquettes. Which unfortunately won’t be available, having been banned well before as the deadly menace they so truly are.

Just you wait, my friends. Just you wait.

How it happened

Wherein a most intriguing case is made in support of a somewhat unusual proposition: the origins of our national woes, pretty much all of them, are directly traceable to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.

For over fifty years, it has been a recurring promise of conservative candidates running for election that they will stand up for our constitutional rights and support the appointment of judges and Supreme Court justices who will uphold the Constitution.

Yet time after time, the left seems to win both ideological and legal battles on monumental issues such as abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, racial preferences for minorities, and the ever-expanding size and scope of government — no matter what the text of the Constitution actually says.

In The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties, (2020; ISBN 978-1-5011-0689-7) author Christopher Caldwell advances the thesis that the Constitution of 1788 has been effectively nullified by our elites and supplanted with a “new constitution” that originated in, and reflects the values of, the “Civil Rights Era” of the 1960s. Though the civil rights movement began as a reformist movement within the old order, it evolved into a “revolution” that has nearly triumphed over the polity created in the 18th century:

The changes of the 1960s, with civil rights at their core, were not just a major new element in the Constitution. They were a rival constitution, with which the original one was frequently incompatible[.]…Much of what we have called “polarization” or “incivility” in recent years is something more grave — it is the disagreement over which of the two constitutions shall prevail: the de jure constitution of 1788…with centuries of American culture behind it…or the de facto constitution of 1964, which lacks this traditional kind of legitimacy but commands the near-unanimous endorsement of judicial elites and civic educators and the passionate allegiance of those who received it as liberation.

Caldwell argues that the new “de facto constitution” has been used to supersede the Bill of Rights and the black-letter law of the traditional Constitution.  Forced busing and forced integration violated the First Amendment right to freedom of association, as did affirmative action for blacks and women. Racial and sex-based preferences offend the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. These policies were enacted despite opposition from most Americans. Speech codes and political correctness designed to cater to the sensitivities of minorities infringe on the right to freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The “right” to an abortion, which existed nowhere in the traditional Constitution and was opposed by a majority of the people (with limited exceptions), was essentially created by the Supreme Court.

Lest anybody be inclined to assume that Demonrat-appointed Justices and Presidents are entirely to blame, or nearly so, that erroneous notion is handily dispensed with. After the infuriating way in which Trump’s eagerly-anticipated USSC picks have performed so far, that comes as no big shock. Caldwell even goes so far as to rip Saint Ronald of Reagan a new ‘un for his own not-insignificant contribution to the national trainwreck. Then, from there:

If Caldwell’s thesis can be criticized, it is for understating his case — things have proven to be worse than he described.

In hindsight, the Trump presidency exposed the fact that the elites and the Deep State are now completely untethered by the original Constitution of limited and enumerated powers and by the Bill of Rights. They have demonstrated that they are willing to use the FBI to surveil presidential candidate and to fabricate a false narrative for the purposes of impeaching him. They have demonstrated that they will side with illegal aliens over American citizens, and that they will freely let black BLM and communist Antifa agitators run riot in the streets while ruthlessly prosecuting and suppressing as “domestic terrorists” patriotic and nationalist groups who caused a ruckus at the Capitol. They have demonstrated that they are willing to turn a blind eye to vicious and violent attacks by blacks against whites, but drop the hammer of “hate crimes” on any “deplorable” white who has the slightest dispute with a black, or on any cop making a traffic stop of a black criminal. They have demonstrated that they will continue to expand so-called “civil rights” to include all manner of insanity and freakishness, such as “transgenderism.”

Caldwell does not propose a solution to this situation. But recognizing the problem is a necessary first step in finding one. “Civil rights” has been used as an effective battering ram against conservatism and against the Constitution of the 1780s; conservatives can no longer allow themselves to be browbeaten by “civil rights” activists. The rigged election of 2020 and the double-impeachment of Trump should have awakened conservatives to the fact that merely voting Republican and asserting your “constitutional rights” is no longer enough. But it may be too late.

In 2014, Gov. Cuomo sneered that conservatives have no place in the state of New York. Increasingly, our elites have adopted the attitude that conservatives have no place anywhere in the country, and they are willing to act on it.

They’ll do precisely that, unless/until enough Real Americans nut up and demonstrate a willingness to act on a few things their own selves…in a way that won’t soon be forgotten, is impossible to ignore or minimize, and will leave a smarting, stinging welt.

“We are moving into very dark times, and government tyranny is only going to get worse”

Truer words were never spoke. But I still do have a nit or two to pick, surprising exactly no one.

We Are Now Entering Full-Blown Tyranny In The Western World

Um, dude, not to put too fine a point on this and all, but…ENTERING?!?

If we accept what they are doing to us now, they are just going to keep pushing the envelope. Over the past 12 months, authorities throughout the western world have used the pandemic as an excuse to impose Orwellian measures that we never would have accepted during normal times. They are promising us that these measures are just “temporary”, but the pandemic has already been with us for a year and there are no signs that it is going away any time soon. If those governing us are willing to go to such ridiculous extremes during a relatively minor pandemic, what are they going to be willing to do once things start getting really crazy?

I have a sinking feeling we’re going to find out, and without much in the way of further ado, either. Western mettle has been tested, and found very much wanting. The board has been set; the pieces are in position. The Enemy’s opening gambit was more successful than they even dreamed it might be, and there’s no reason at all for further delay on their part.

Out of 4.4 million people living in Alberta, there have only been 2,013 deaths, and about half of those were among people 80 years of age or older.

If it isn’t safe to go to church, why are hordes of Canadians allowed to circulate through retail establishments every single day of the week?

If churches should be shut down, you would think that Wal-Mart, Costco and Canadian Tire should be shut down too.

But they aren’t shut down.

In better days, that’s what sturdier men used to call a “dead giveaway.”

I know that a lot of you don’t want to hear this, but the pandemic is with us to stay.

And that means that the Orwellian measures that are being put in place are with us to stay too.

Orwellian measures were the whole point of the exercise, as I’ve maintained right from jump. This is not about a virus. It was NEVER about a virus. It was about finding out whether or not at least somewhat free people would accept the bit. They did, most of them not grudgingly but eagerly. And now, unless they find some way to spit it out, they’re going to choke on it.

From American Dream to American Nightmare

Fundamental Transformation, no kind of accident, with plenty enough blame to go around.

For most of the ninety years since James Truslow Adams coined the term American Dream, most Americans still believed the fairy tale of the American Dream, that no matter how humble your beginnings, everyone had a fair chance to become a success in America, based upon your individual talent, intelligence, work ethic and a society that rewarded those who exceled. Sadly, that dream is no longer achievable for most Americans. Our society has devolved into an oligarchy since The Epic of America was published in 1931, where a powerful few rule over a willfully ignorant many through propaganda, mistruth, fear, and an iron fist.

The real questions are why did the American dream turn into an American nightmare and is there a pathway back to the kind of country our forefathers created? There are numerous reasons why the country has fallen far from its original conception as a proud defiant Republic to its current state as a dying empire of depravity, decay, debt, and decadence. The conspiratorial creation of the Federal Reserve and implementation of a Federal income tax in 1913 marked a true destructive turning point for America.

Our world is now ruled by a tyrannical few who have used the system, created by their class, to accumulate immense wealth and power, sustained by a government they manipulate by buying politicians and having their cronies and thugs write and enforce the laws. The misinformation, propaganda, and fake news dished out by a mainstream media, owned, and controlled by the ruling oligarchy, creates a smokescreen to obscure who wields the true power in this country. The Deep State is no longer a looney conspiracy theory, but the reality of how this country is now controlled and run.

Radical Communist professors infest our universities. With 76% of K-12 teachers being female, the feminization of boys from twelve years of indoctrination has been unavoidable. They have been forced to feel and emote, rather than think, question and experience life outside prison classrooms. When boys act like boys, they are diagnosed by women as having ADHD and immediately drugged into submission. School is now a detriment to learning and irrelevant to a person attaining wisdom and understanding.

Irrelevant, hell. It’s an actual, active obstacle.

The rot within our educational system does not appear to be a mistake. It seems to be a calculated goal of those controlling the system. Our overlords want obedient, easily manipulated, non-questioning, conformist, robotic consumers of material goods who believe debt equals wealth, the family unit is irrelevant, systematic racism is real, there are 65 genders, a flu with a 99.7% survival rate is a reason to surrender their remaining freedoms and liberties, and an all-knowing benevolent government is here to help them.

The dystopian American nightmare into which we are descending is not solely the fault of the globalist cabal. Americans need to look in the mirror and honestly assess their role in this plunge into madness. The once independent, self-sufficient individualists that populated this country have become dependent, government reliant, materialistic, quivering shadows of the patriots and frontiersmen who created this country.

In the name of safety and security, the American people have allowed their government to accumulate complete control over every aspect of our lives. The American Dream has become a nightmare as we have allowed individualism, materialism, and selfish greed to override our duty to be good citizens, good fathers, good mothers, good neighbors, and going as far as our ability and hard work would take us.

Up until 1913, the American Dream, where every person had the opportunity to live a richer and fuller life, was achievable.  Up until that time, every generation born in this country had an excellent chance to live a better life than their parents. Relentless progress was the American way. Based on the actions of those controlling the direction of this country, I doubt my three sons will live a richer and fuller life than myself. The debts are too extreme, the military overreach too excessive, the looting by the financial class too great, the political corruption too extensive, suppression of truth speech too stifling, and opportunities too few.

The dream of a social order where everyone could rise to the highest level of their capabilities, regardless of their birth, has been systematically crushed by those who prefer the masses to be debt slaves doing the menial labor necessary to keep their money-making machine running. With all out assaults on the First, Second and Fourth Amendments by those who find the U.S. Constitution inconvenient to their despotic intentions, time is running out for those who still believe in and will fight for their country.

We have ignored our obligation to the past and the future. The Founding Fathers created an imperfect Republic. Ben Franklin knew its future depended upon the people administering it well. The founders did not want a national religion to be misrepresented as keeping religion out of America. The Founders were religious men. They believed religion and morality were vital to the country, being administered in a moral ethical way and guided by a code of conduct. As God, religion and morality have been disparaged by those in power we have moved further and further from the letter and spirit of the Constitution. Only a people with a strong moral backbone can be trusted to honor the Constitution.

The people have allowed the country to be corrupted by evil self-seeking men, and as a result, we are on a course towards despotism. We are descended from rebels and revolutionaries. The future of our country requires the restoration of that revolutionary spirit of dissent and opposition among a sufficient number of patriotic citizens, as there is no longer a chance to vote ourselves out of this predicament. Sadly, bloodshed will be required in any effort to regain control of our country. Time is growing short.

The author covers one hell of a lot of territory in this one, pulling together what could fairly be considered a politico-historical Theory Of Everything. It’s the deepest of deep dives, it’s lengthy, and it makes for some mighty uncomfortable reading in spots, which you should nonetheless do.

Darkness, falling

An extremely unflattering comparison.

Those old enough to remember the Cold War will recall, perhaps with some prompting, that the fight with the Soviets was as much a moral war as a political one. It was not that the communists were in error about some item in dispute. The communists were immoral because communism was immoral. Whatever the faults of liberal democracy, it was morally superior to the evils of communist totalitarianism.

At the time, this was not a tough case to make. Americans could speak out against the government, while Russians had to suffer in silence. The West had elections and big public spats over policy. Debate in the East was always behind the dreary walls of the communist party. Most important, the West did not have political prisoners, while the East operated camps, even small cities, for their dissidents.

A generation later and the roles are not exactly reversed, but it is now possible to argue that Russians are freer than Americans. Putin has his enemies jailed, but that’s now official policy in America. In the case of Putin, he does not relish in the torment of his opponents. There is some hint of shame there. In America, members of the regime take pleasure in tormenting those who speak out against them.

Take, for example, the case of Alexey Navalny, the CIA-sponsored critic of Putin who is now in jail. He claims poor treatment at the hands of the government, but he is able to speak to the media about it. In contrast, there are an unknown number of people in jail right now over the January protests. One was beaten by guards to the point where he lost sight in one eye.

Unlike with Alexey Navalny, The New York Times and The Washington Post are not demanding Ronald Sandlin be set free. The great and the good are not calling him a political prisoner, despite the fact he is literally in jail for politics. The folks who tell us “democracy dies in darkness” are happy that Ronald Sandlin now lives in darkness at the hands of the state. The political prisoners being held by the Biden regime envy Alexey Navalny.

It is not just at the extreme where the moral relationship has reversed. Russian citizens can walk up to the Kremlin and take pictures of it and themselves in front of it without fear of being shot by the army. Americans, on the other hand, will be sent to prison for daring such a radical act. People protest in Moscow all the time. As long as they are peaceful, they are left alone. Protest is banned in Washington now.

A generation ago, Americans knew they would win the Cold War, because they were right about the moral depravity of communism. Such a system could not last. The Soviet system did collapse, because devoid of moral authority, the cost of maintaining it eventually exceeded the benefits of the system. By the end, no one could think of a reason to sacrifice for the system or the people running it.

Americans are quickly approaching the same decision. As long as the material benefits are not threatened, most are happy to remain in their cells. At some point, though, the number of people no longer able to tell the good guys from the bad guys, the white hats from the black hats, will reach a critical mass. The ruling regime is burning what is left of its moral authority to fuel its hold on power. When the tank runs dry, they will join the communists in the dustbin of history.

There are other equally-invidious comparisons to be made, and to be learned from.

The parallels are so striking that one can wonder if there really is an unseen force guiding history along. Was there no one who might have stopped Hitler’s rise or the Russian revolution? Germany had no such person. Russia did. Pyotr Stolypin, though, was assassinated in 1911, and things just muddled along until Lenin and the communists took charge. Donald Trump in America tried heroically to stop the communists but failed. The left, controlling nearly all that matters in America, didn’t have to assassinate Trump to attain its goal.

Another interesting parallel works in reverse. Joe Biden best matches the pathetic Tsar Nicholas II, whom a coalition of liberals and socialists overthrew (before the Bolsheviks then overthrew them) to seize power and whose legacy is that of an uncomprehending fool. Biden came after the seizure of power by the Reds in Washington, but that hasn’t stopped him from modeling Tsar Nicholas’s foolishness. In fewer than three months, Joe’s incompetence has become legendary, bordering on comical.

Comical, only nobody’s laughing.

Ordinary people in 1917 Russia and 1933 Germany generally went about their business after monsters ascended to power. Perhaps they dreaded the future but had no way to change it or any idea of where things would go. It was probably best for them that they did not know. And so with us today.

“Best for them”? Well, back then, maybe. But only maybe, and only by a whisker. As the man says, in 1917 and 1933 the world didn’t have the benefit of a hundred-year record of death, impoverishment, and enslavement that are the inevitable products of Leftist ideology that we enjoy today. So people of that time can perhaps be given a pass for having been taken in by this extreme and inhuman ideology and all its evil works.

But today, we have no such excuse. Thus, I hardly think it can be considered “best” for anybody “not to know” their history. Actually, I consider such ignorance to be unforgivable, amounting to a crime which creates its own punishment—an extravagantly harsh punishment suffered by the deserving and the blameless alike. If we witness yet another nation stricken by this self-inflicted plague, no one who was either too mulish, too starry-eyed, or too just goddamned stupid to see what any even half-sentient soul could have told them was coming ought to be given a bye.

Time has come today

Or has it passed us by?

Liberty activist Ammon Bundy of Idaho is warning Americans that there’s little time left to turn back the tyranny that’s taking hold from authoritarian COVID-19 dictates.

Party affiliation seems to mean little across the country as, whether Democrat or Republican, few are willing to stand up for liberty, according to Bundy. Idaho Gov. Brad Little is a Republican, and the state is one of the largest GOP states in the nation.

“I’m getting tired. I’m about ready to say to hell with everybody. Literally, to hell with everybody,” Bundy said. “I’m tired of going to jail and standing up, and I’m grateful for the small amount of people who have stood up with me, but why can’t people see the danger of what is happening. I wish I would have never ever read a history book or the Constitution. That’s how I feel sometimes because then I could feel like ‘well, there’s no problem you know. I’ll just put on a mask. I’ll just comply. There’s no problem here.’”

Bundy added: “But no, these are serious things that have happened before over and over. These are not the beginnings. We’re in the middle to coming up to the end of basically when people lose complete power over themselves and over their freedom. And people just don’t seem to care. I’m not trying to be pessimistic or a downer, but we have to wake up. We have to wake up. I don’t want to live in a dictatorship any longer. I don’t want to pass this on to my children.”

Although a local story, Bundy said every American is facing similar tyranny.

“We’re in trouble, and Idaho’s not the only one doing this. Idaho’s not the only state doing this,” Bundy said. “Either I’m completely crazy or we’ve got a really, really big problem.”

Bundy added: “I’ve been trying to do my best on warning people and showing people and exposing people what this COVID is all about. It is about force. It is about taking the rights of the people away, you and I. They use it for everything, an excuse for everything. An excuse not to have a jury trial. An excuse not to have hearings. An excuse to completely trample on the rights of the people. An excuse to arrest you here and arrest you there. An excuse to destroy the liberties of the people of an entire state and then try to get immunity out of a special legislative session, and then an excuse to arrest people who show up, peacefully show up and just trying to make a difference.”

Whatever your opinion of Bundy may be—and there seems to be a fairly wide variance among ’em out there—he’s right about all this, and you know damned well he is. Supporting evidence:

In August of last year, Bundy was arrested and charged with trespassing twice within two days at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise. He, along with other liberty activists, were seeking to offer public comments during a special legislative session to oppose Little’s effort to “make himself immune from the COVID decisions and all the terrible things he’s done to Idaho,” Bundy said.

This came after Little gave himself control, via an executive order, over all federal dollars coming into the state concerning COVID-19 after the CARES Act was signed by former President Donald Trump. Bundy stated that Idaho has received at least $8.1 billion from the federal government, and Little has effectively declared martial law by stating “all the government of Idaho is under the governor, and then he did exactly what the federal government wanted him to do.”

One of those trespassing charges has already been dropped because the Director of Administration, who made the charge, did not have authority to trespass anyone. Bundy is still awaiting trial, along with a co-defendant, on the second charge.

After the arrests in August, Bundy was arrested last month for “failure to appear in court” on the other outstanding trespassing charge. However, Bundy and his co-defendant did show up to court but were denied access to the building because they refused to wear a face mask.

Fast forward to yesterday, Bundy was arrested on trespassing charges at the state capitol and again by the Director of Administration who the court’s already ruled did not have authority to trespass citizens. After bailing himself out, Bundy returned to the capitol and again was arrested for trespassing, this time by Sargent Blake Higley of the Idaho State Police who Bundy said told him “I don’t have to have authority” when asked for authority to make the arrest.

Lots of people in my circle are fond of lamenting that America is now “a joke,” but that’s not so. What it actually is, and has long been, is a lie. The powerlessness to see things put right again that we all feel, the frustration and despair that burdens Bundy right along with every other Real American, is no accident. It’s just another part of The Plan, and it seems to be working quite well so far, thanks.

Now tell me again all about how wrong and unhelpful it is to say that they’re evil, whydon’tcha. That one’s my favorite.

If you are in fact a legit hooman bean desirous of registering yourself a CF user name so as to be able to comment only to find yourself caught up as collateral damage in one of my irregularly (un)scheduled sweeps for hinky registration attempts, please shoot me a kite at the email addy over in the right sidebar and let me know so’s I can get ya fixed up manually.

ALSO NOTE: You MUST use a valid, legit email address in order to successfully register, the new anti-spam software I installed last night requires it. My thanks to Barry for all his help sorting this mess out last night.

Comments appear entirely at the whim of the guy who pays the bills for this site and may be deleted, ridiculed, maliciously edited for purposes of mockery, or otherwise pissed over as he in his capricious fancy sees fit. The CF comments section is pretty free-form and rough and tumble; tolerance level for rowdiness and misbehavior is fairly high here, but is NOT without limit.

Management is under no obligation whatever to allow the comments section to be taken over and ruined by trolls, Leftists, and/or other oxygen thieves, and will take any measures deemed necessary to prevent such. Conduct yourself with the merest modicum of decorum, courtesy, and respect and you'll be fine. Pick pointless squabbles with other commenters, fling provocative personal insults, issue threats, or annoy the host (me) and...you won't.

Should you find yourself sanctioned after running afoul of the CF comments policy as stated and feel you have been wronged, please download and complete the Butthurt Report form below in quadruplicate; retain one copy for your personal records and send the others to the email address posted in the right sidebar.

Please refrain from whining, sniveling, and/or bursting into tears and waving your chubby fists around in frustrated rage, lest you suffer an aneurysm or stroke unnecessarily. Your completed form will be reviewed and your complaint addressed whenever management feels like getting around to it. Thank you.

"There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."
Daniel Webster

“When I was young I was depressed all the time. But suicide no longer seemed a possibility in my life. At my age there was very little left to kill.”

“A slave is one who waits for someone to come and free him.”

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”
Frank Zappa

“The right of a nation to kill a tyrant in case of necessity can no more be doubted than to hang a robber, or kill a flea.”
John Adams

"It is terrible to contemplate how few politicians are hanged."
GK Chesterton

"I predict that the Bush administration will be seen by freedom-wishing Americans a generation or two hence as the hinge on the cell door locking up our freedom. When my children are my age, they will not be free in any recognizably traditional American meaning of the word. I’d tell them to emigrate, but there’s nowhere left to go. I am left with nauseating near-conviction that I am a member of the last generation in the history of the world that is minimally truly free."
Donald Sensing

"The only way to live free is to live unobserved."
Etienne de la Boiete

"History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid."
Dwight D. Eisenhower

"To put it simply, the Left is the stupid and the insane, led by the evil. You can’t persuade the stupid or the insane and you had damn well better fight the evil."

"There is no better way to stamp your power on people than through the dead hand of bureaucracy. You cannot reason with paperwork."
David Black, from Turn Left For Gibraltar

"If the laws of God and men, are therefore of no effect, when the magistracy is left at liberty to break them; and if the lusts of those who are too strong for the tribunals of justice, cannot be otherwise restrained than by sedition, tumults and war, those seditions, tumults and wars, are justified by the laws of God and man."
John Adams

"The limits of tyranny are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress."
Frederick Douglass

"Give me the media and I will make of any nation a herd of swine."
Joseph Goebbels

“I hope we once again have reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”
Ronald Reagan

"Ain't no misunderstanding this war. They want to rule us and aim to do it. We aim not to allow it. All there is to it."
NC Reed, from Parno's Peril

"I just want a government that fits in the box it originally came in."
