Bonfire of the inanities

Adam at PRD takes Marjorie Taylor Greene to task for a spectacularly…well, just plain stupid post:

MTG-FullForce.png

Having any of it, Adam? No sir, Adam most certainly is not.

This was on Gab. Check out the number of likes and comments. If you have any familiarity with Gab, those sort of numbers are about the highest an individual can generate on that platform. So a lot of people are in agreement with this nonsense.

And nonsense it most certainly is. Let’s examine each sentence in turn.

The Taliban have already felt the full force of the US military for the last twenty years. And they delivered it a resounding defeat. This is so obtuse that it makes Biden look like a certified genius. What sort of nation feels the right to make demands of this sort to another government of whom it has only just run away from with its tail firmly between its legs? Perhaps the Japs could have said something similar at the end of the Second World War.

The second sentence is even better, which is hard to believe is possible. The Taliban must stand down? After they just won the war, kicked you out and captured all of your military hardware which you left behind in your undignified rush for the exits? What planet are these people on? Do the Americans even realise that they have just lost a twenty year war against tribal insurgents? Again?? Tone deaf doesn’t even begin to cover this blather.

Sentence number three is the icing on the cake. Have you heard that, you Taliban naughty persons? This is NOT a negotiation. You have been told by the great school marm herself. Why, those Taliban dudes must be shaking in their boots so hard that the movement of their beards is causing all the wind turbines in the world to actually be cost efficient.

Listen America – you’re not the biggest and the bestest and the greatest and the invinciblest anymore. Your shock and awe is just a distant memory. Now it’s more like cock and bore. Your exuberant self-belief in your own righteousness and superiority just makes you look ridiculous and weak. America is Will Farrell running down the race circuit convinced that he won the race when he actually lost. It is Ben Stiller as Zoolander making an acceptance speech for a modeling award that he also just lost.

America has become its own parody.

That’s about the size of it, yeah. Up till now, I’ve had no real problem with MTG at all, and in fact kinda liked her. After this thunderous self-beclownment, though, a reconsideration of my position might be in order. Her heart might be in the right place, but the sentiment is, ohh, about eighteen years too late.

Sorry, Marge, but we all need to get our heads firmly around the essential fact that countries which LOSE wars don’t get to go around threatening the winners. Doing so can only make the loser-nation look even more foolish and ineffectual than it already did. When your massive, hi-tech military machine has just been sent packing in humiliating disarray by a bunch of stone-age, cave-dwelling goatherds riding mules, a bit of humility and introspection might be more in order.

Not that I consider it to be the fault of grunt-level US soldiers, mind. They, too, have been abused, manipulated, and betrayed by the most hideous “leadership” class in human history. But still. Until such time as the pus-nutted filthwads who ARE reponsible have received the full dose of retributive justice that’s their due and proper, we’ll all be better off if we just eschew any more fist-waving and empty windbaggery.

The enemy among us

Make America Mogadishu Again?

So what happens to you now in a country run by the Taliban? It’s hard to think about that. And yet tonight many Americans are thinking about it and they’re feeling distressed as they do. Americans are kind people and generous. They’re quicker and more eager to help strangers than anyone else in the world. We haven’t seen polling on it, but we bet if you asked one hundred people, should we try to help Afghans who are facing persecution for helping us, most Americans would say, of course, we should. And we should be glad that they say that you should be happy you live in a country where your neighbors love children and dogs and want to help refugees. We are generous and empathetic people and we should be proud.

Unfortunately, there are many in our ruling class who are anxious to take advantage of that, anxious, to take advantage of our best qualities. They see our decency and our weakness, and they exploit those things and they do it relentlessly. Let’s try to save our loyal Afghan interpreters, we tell them. Perfect, they think. We’ll open the borders and change the demographic balance of this country. Of course, that’s exactly what they’re doing right now on our southern border, naturally in the name of human rights and compassion. And they would like to do the very same thing with the disaster unfolding in Afghanistan, the disaster that they created. Look at what this kid on MSNBC said yesterday, and remember, as you watch, that he is regarded with total seriousness in Washington as a foreign policy expert and that his fellow foreign policy experts wholeheartedly agree with him.

SPENCER ACKERMAN: We’re talking about an evacuation of people who helped the wars, and that’s an obligation of the United States but it’s sort of a moral floor that’s functioning as a moral ceiling. The Bush administration, I’m sorry the Biden administration, pardon me, isn’t doing things necessary like increasing TPS access and letting in refugees by the millions to escape their certain fate at the hands of the Taliban.

So we must “let in refugees by the millions,” said the mustachioed foreign policy expert. The millions. Millions is not a handful of loyal Afghan interpreters. That’s not even a fleet of cargo planes full of loyal Afghan interpreters. Millions is a good chunk of the entire population of Afghanistan, brought to our country at our expense to live in your neighborhood at the very moment our national fabric is fraying, in case you haven’t noticed, and the United States is becoming unmistakably poorer.

Do we really need millions of Afghan refugees in Phoenix, you ask? Shut up. Racist. OK, go ahead and do it. That’s how the process typically works. In fact, that’s pretty much how it always works with everything now. At this point, fighting racism is the universal justification for every bad idea. Tear down our statues. OK. Stop teaching math. OK. Get rid of standardized testing. All right. Defund the police, move millions of Afghan refugees to swing states to help the Democratic Party. OK. Oppose any of it, and you’re a racist. So in the end, it always happens. And in this case, it may happen. It probably will.

But what happens then to us? How will this new wave of immigration affect America? Will America be a better country or will it be a little more like Afghanistan, which is to say not really a better country? We can’t be sure of what’s going to happen. We can’t see the future. But for a hint, a glimpse, maybe we ought to pay some attention to what has happened in Europe recently. They just went through this.

OK, so Afghan refugees have destabilized countries into which they have moved in large numbers, but we have a moral obligation to take them anyway. Really? Why is that? Why is this our unique moral burden? Isn’t the U.S. government’s first obligation to its own people? Isn’t that the only point of having a government to look out for its citizens? Why else have a government, actually?

After digesting all the other hard facts Tucker spells out in this crucial piece, the real question we need to ask ourselves is: why have THIS government?

How many of these Afghans and their family members, you have to wonder, are excited about coming to America? Huh. It’s interesting, maybe you should ask that question, maybe you should ask Ilhan Omar. Her position is the only reason that American citizens might object to being flooded with millions of new refugees from Afghanistan is that Americans, people who are born here and built this country are actually mediocre and insecure.

ILHAN OMAR: And then you’ve got these crazy people on the right doing what they always do with their fear-mongering and their hateful rhetoric, and I know what some of these people are worried about is that they’re worried that refugees like myself when they come to this country, will outshine them.

So the obvious response to that is to attack poor Ilhan Omar, but we’re not going to do that. The truth is, this is our fault. It is our fault. Ilhan Omar is living proof that we are not very good at resettling refugees. She was saved from a refugee camp in Kenya as a child by the kindness and generosity of America. And yet she has grown to hate America and the people who live here.

Where did she learn those attitudes? Well, of course, in college, our colleges, we taught her to hate our country. She became worse after she got here. We ought to pause before we do that again, to anyone, even if they’ve been translators.

Reading this article, it fairly well slaps you upside yo’ haid that the enormity of the multitudinous problems we face is simply overwhelming, almost beyond human ability to comprehend. That said, those problems all flow from a single source. We know full well what that source is, just as we also know the one and only way it can ever be shut down. That’s the long and the short of it, folks.

“We are led by buffoons”

Well, there’s no arguing with THAT.

TUCKER CARLSON, FOX NEWS: Joe Biden went on television today, this afternoon, and talked to the country about Afghanistan. He said, among other things, that we had no choice but to leave, and on that question, he is right. The United States should have left Afghanistan 19 years ago when it became obvious that Osama bin Laden wasn’t there and had fled to Pakistan. There was no reason to stay in the country.

And the longer we remained, the worse it was always going to be. The question is, and the relevant question today, is how exactly do you get out? Just because something is necessary doesn’t mean you get to ignore the details of it. If you learned you needed an emergency appendectomy, would it matter to you who performed the operation? A surgeon with a scalpel or a drunk guy with a pocket knife? Yes, it would matter to you.

But it didn’t matter to Joe Biden, apparently. He barely mentioned the withdrawal today. Biden did the necessary thing in the ugliest possible way. If you’ve been watching television during the day, you’ve probably seen this footage. It’s terrified men in sandals clinging to the side of a C-17 as it attempts to leave Afghanistan.

This is the iconic photo of the moment. It’s the final humiliating scene of the American occupation of Afghanistan. That means that after 20 years and trillions of dollars, our leaders couldn’t manage to pull off an orderly retreat. They couldn’t even secure a single runway, and that’s the main lesson of the fall of Kabul. We are led by buffoons. They have no idea what they’re doing. We know that now. They are imposters.

Everything they touch turns to chaos, not just there but here. These are the people who run the Amtrak station in Midtown Manhattan, the one that’s filled with drug addicts. They are the people in charge of the power grid in the State of California, they have no useful skills, and yet somehow, these same people assured us they were going to turn Stone Age Afghanistan into Modern Belgium. Remembering it now is bitter and hilarious.

At this point, our leaders are so discredited, they are running out of ways to criticize the Taliban. Is the Biden administration really going to attack the new government of Afghanistan for forcing women to cover their faces? Are American diplomats actually going to lecture Taliban leaders about toppling statues? Probably not going to happen. That’s how much credibility our leaders have lost, how much moral authority they have squandered in the past 20 years.

But most of what they’ve lost is their self-awareness. They have none.

Okay then, ONE thing I’ll argue with: as nothing but walking, talking skin-bags of pure conceit, they’re ALL self-awareness, ALL the time. The trouble is that their perception has been so radically skewed by their monstrously bloated egos, that’s all. They aren’t what they think they are: not nearly the capable, intelligent, admired, and influential leaders they believe themselves to be. None of which fazes them in the least, natch. Obama said a mouthful when he told author Richard Wolfe, “You know, I actually believe my own bullshit.” They all do, and demand that everybody else must as well.

This is NOT okay

The mind, it reels.

In another one of his infamous corporate media talking head moments, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that baseless mandates for masks and vaccines are more important than Americans’ constitutional rights.

“I’m sorry, I mean I know people must like to have their individual freedom and not be told to do something, but I think we’re in such a serious situation now that under certain circumstances, mandates should be done,” Fauci said.

When asked whether he agreed with American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten on requiring vaccines for teachers, Fauci once again repeated that he thinks forcing people to comply is an acceptable method to combat COVID-19.

“I’m going to upset some people on this but I think we should,” Fauci repeated. “I mean we are in a critical situation now. We’ve had 615,000 plus deaths and we are in a major surge now as we’re going into the fall into the school season.”

The mandates, Fauci explained would not come from the federal government but from local institutions such as schools and universities, and yet, reporting last week indicated that the White House is considering using its federal power to pressure institutions into requiring the COVID-19 shot.

This pig-ignorant little Nazi, remember, has held a powerful and remunerative position in the federal government for his entire career, since 1968. The poisonous dwarf has “served” under five Presidents—two Democrat-Socialist, three Repugnican. And in his view, the mandate of freedom and individual self-determination upon which this nation was founded can be flippantly discarded with no more than a casual wave of his mighty hand, the US Constitution be damned. He knows virtually nothing of the most fundamental American ideals, and cares about them even less.

No such “man” should even have been considered for employment with the US government, much less allowed to worm his way deeper and higher into the misbegotten bureaucracy that really controls it…and us. The belief that the whim of an incompetent, bumbling mediocrity such as himself not only CAN overrule our bedrock values, but SHOULD, by right ought to disqualify any and every applicant for FederalGovCo employment, at any and every level. Such arrogance, such unequivocal anti-Americanism, ought to be plenty enough to refuse the fool in question a job walking a route as a mailman, ferchrissakes.

Our proud American history; the great deeds of our noble forefathers; the incalculable sacrifice freely offered up, generation after generation, to secure the passing down of a priceless inheritance—all these things and so very much more—all shat upon by the despicable Fauci in that one inane, juvenile statement: “…I know people must like to have their individual freedom and not be told to do something.”

And that’s it. Hey presto!, just like that, everything—the Declaration; the Bill of Rights; Concord, Lexington, Shiloh, Appomatox, Operation Overlord, Iwo Jima, and Bataan;the unembarrassed tears sliding down the cheeks of your dear old vet Grampa as he holds a still-soldierly salute for the passing marchers in the town’s annual Memorial Day parade, thinking of his long-gone brothers-in-arms—abso-fucking-lutely EVERYTHING, ALL OF IT now reduced by this loathsome blowfly to just so much skid-paper for him to swab along the crack of his filthy, worthless ass.

People must like to have their individual freedom. As if the American people were no more than bratty children pestering Mom for some dimestore trinket or ice cream cone, their destinies entirely in the hands of power-drunk, dishonest non-entities like Fauci. As if freedom was of no real importance, to them or anybody else, just some insubstantial bit of silliness they’d “like to have” rather than being the driving principle behind the very creation of this country.

And some long-ago chair-warmer in goobermint actually thought it would be a good idea to hire this cretinous cur? SRSLY? Worse yet, nobody since—not even Trump—ever saw him for what he really is and righteously shitcanned his sorry ass? I repeat: the mind, it reels.

Sense≠nonsense

Contrary to what appears to be widely-popular belief nowadays.

Here is the scary blaring headline from Marketwatch. It is being duplicated on MSM websites, newspapers and fake news networks, as the fear narrative must be revived to drive Big Pharma profits higher and fulfill the Great Reset agenda. CASES!!!!!!! THE HORROR!!!!!!

U.S. COVID-19 daily case tally back at February levels, and patients are getting younger as Florida records highest hospitalizations yet

So they are basing the renewed panic porn on cases generated from a test the FDA just announced was being pulled from the market because it drastically overestimates cases of Covid. I got it. Makes total sense.

So, the 7 day average of cases is about 80,000. The last time it was this high was February 17. For some perspective you won’t receive from the MSM and government drone fearmongers, cases are still down 70% from the January high.  Now let’s get to the numbers they are not and will not include in their fake news articles designed to scare you into getting the jab.

Here’s the chart they want to keep hidden. Do you see the massive spike in deaths following this “surge” in cases? Look harder. It must be there. The 7 day average of deaths “with” covid is 362 in this entire fucking country of 330 million people. Do you realize we are losing .0001097% of our population per day to this dreaded disease?

ZOMFG1111ELEVENSES!!! Something MUST BE DONE!!!

For some more perspective, we were losing 599 people per day on June 1. On April 1 we were losing 893 people per day. And on February 17, when we had 80,000 cases, there were 2,709 deaths per day. So the Marketwatch bullshit story about cases surging to February highs fails to mention deaths are currently 87% below that February level.

For even more perspective, those numbers were almost certainly cooked by The Power. And just why might that be?

Renewed masking mandates, mandatory vaccine edicts by governments and corporations, and the threat of further lockdowns have nothing to do with your health or anyone else’s health. It’s the flu bro, and they have weaponized it to consolidate their control over our lives, increase their already obscene levels of wealth, and further their Great Reset agenda where you will own nothing, eat bugs, and live within an electronic gulag where all your communications will be monitored and censored if not conforming to the approved talking points.

Annnnd bingo. Oh, and did somebody mention cooked numbers just a minute ago? Well, the way the entire concept of “cases” has been rejiggered is a component of that solid suspicion, one of an ever-lengthening rotogravure of deceit and manipulation.

Regular readers have had it drummed into them that a “case”, as our Experts use that word, is not a case in the old-fashioned medical sense. Before 2020 in medicine, a case was an infected person who sought or required treatment. Today, a “case” is a positive test, a possible infection. True cases used to be separated from infections. Not anymore. Now panic rules and everything must be made to appear as bleak as possible.

I believe the Irish word to describe the work of our Experts is shite.

Yep. There are others, but that one will do.

So yes, something must be done for sure. But not the kind of things The Power intends, or wants.

This is the future unless you push back now and DO NOT COMPLY. The time has come to make a stand. There are more of us than them. The Party will not relinquish their power without a fight to the finish. We must understand their motives.

NOW we’re starting to get somewhere. In an otherwise flaccid, business-as-usual Morning Briefing post, Stephen Kruiser almost hits the mark.

This isn’t the time to draw a line in the sand, it’s time to push back so hard that the other side never gets near where the line would have been.

Close, but a little too withdrawal-method-y for my taste. Way I see it, we’re well past pushing, however hard; it’s time for PUNCHING—brutally, in the fucking head, with a set of knuckledusters on, over and over again until there’s so much blood streaming into their eyes they can’t even SEE any lines in the sand, and are far too woozy and out of it to dream of trying to cross ’em.

Then, punch ’em again.

Depressing update! Well, THIS certainly doesn’t bode well.

Washington, D.C. residents who spoke with Fox News on Monday were largely supportive of the city’s renewed mask mandate.

Mayor Muriel Bowser’s reinstated mandate, which went into effect Saturday morning, requires residents over the age of 2 to wear face masks indoors, regardless of vaccination. The order followed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines issued last week that recommend those in areas of the country with “high” or “substantial” COVID-19 transmission wear masks indoors.

“I think it’s great,” one resident told Fox News. “If people aren’t going to get vaccinated then we have to stay safe.”

Another local said: “Wear your mask indoors until they tell us to put them on again outdoors, then put them on outdoors too.”

“I just think for us to get rid of this we need to be wearing masks,” one D.C. woman told Fox News.

Others felt D.C. should go further than just requiring masks indoors.

“What they really should do is allow businesses to mandate people be vaccinated,” one resident told Fox News near Georgetown.

Another local who said he was vaccinated agreed: “We should mandate it,” he told Fox News.

So much for lines in the sand, defiance, pushback, and all semblance of Constitutional liberty and self-determination, I guess. Granted, we’re talking about only a small sampling drawn from Mordor on the Potomac itself here—the very belly of the beast, from whence the Great Darkness issues to smother all. Too, there is simply no percentage in expecting a majority in any population to be well-informed, attentive, and sturdy individuals instead of the cowardly, lowing cud-chewers most human beings really are.

But still.

The pitiful truth is that most of us on this poor blue marble don’t WANT freedom, and would never lift a finger or make the slightest effort to either secure it for themselves or defend it. On the contrary, they FEAR it, and will happily go to some lengths to see it crushed—along with a lot of other things that discomfit and shame them, like independent thought; nonconformism; personal responsibility for one’s own decisions, along with the attendant risk; and even the most piffling physical discomfort or inconvenience. Far from wishing to be left alone to run their own lives and walk their own path, they much prefer to be taken care of, micromanaged, and protected from the big, scary world they feel so intimidated by.

Moronic sheep like these piss-poor excuses for “Americans” make me want to puke, and that’s just the gott-damned long and the short of it. Our Founders, eloquent men that they were, would have found these, their benighted progeny so profoundly despicable as to be unable to express their disgust with mere words, and would have been left scratching their heads in disbelief over why they ever even bothered at all. They’d disown their doughy, pampered descendents on principle alone, and thereafter any fool who dared to even hint at familial ties with their heirs would find himself marching off the requisite twenty paces by the dawn’s early light with a dueling pistol in his hand before he could so much as say boo about it. Such a grave insult could not be borne by any man worth his salt. Honor would spur him to demand satisfaction, and he would get it, too.

Why did “Americans” lose their freedom? Because they don’t deserve it, that’s why. As many times as I’ve fretted in this space over the horror and misery to come when this struggle finally does go hot, I also must confess that the prospect of sending rounds through the empty heads of such worthless, contemptible curs DOES have its appeal.

“Drive them fast to their tomb”

Vanderleun waxes poetic, concluding on a Dickensian note.

Their infernal machine, the massmind, lops and trims the green upstarts, the single emerald sprouts, the high stalk topped with the blue cornflower; lops it all down to the level of their dull brown massmind. Down there in the dull damp, down among the dead men, their massmind festers and they love to inhale the musk of its dank decay.

Their minds are the godless grave of words muttered by Mao, harangues by Hitler that were gargled by Goebbels, and limned by Lenin from which no life or liberty can ever hope for escape and resurrection.

Their secular “green” religion has its bad rap but no hymns.

Their fantasy of a “fairer world” will become their grandchildren’s small and shrunken lives on a nightmare planet where all men, finally equalized, will live like dung beetles on the desolate rubble of what once was.

They call themselves “progressives” and flatter themselves that their thoughts and actions are “revolutionary” when they are as reactionary as any lynch mob that can be reanimated from history.

They chain themselves deep in the pit of Let’s Pretend and celebrate their servitude by bending heaven and earth to get you down in the hole that they’re in.

They believe that the individual should become one with the massmind and that the massmind should worship its apotheosis — that single living demon who best reflects their ossified visions on which the anointing oil has long since dried to a brown crust of thought.

They are the monarchists of the masses. They seek a state in which the head that wears the crown may change but where the crown itself grows forever larger.

Damned well put, Gerard.

Non-event

And suddenly, there may be a reason to care about the fucking Olympics.

Olympic Madness: Women’s Beach Handball Team Fined for Not Showing Enough Booty

“Madness”? Waitwaitwait a minute—is this guy saying he thinks showing more booty is a BAD thing?

Is it just me, or did the Olympics, once upon a time, actually have some credibility? Didn’t the Olympics used to be a gathering place for champions? A moment where nations shined and personal bests were achieved? The first stop on your way to a Wheaties box? I could swear it was not that long ago.

Credibility? From everything I’ve read over the years—which isn’t actually all that much, since I never did give a tinker’s damn about any fucking Olympics—and from what I saw living in Atlanta during the Olympics there back whenever the hell that was, the fucking Olympics have pretty much always been all about the corruption and graft, on the behind-the-scenes business end at least. Throw in whacking great gobs of gooey-eyed nonsense about “promoting international understanding and cooperation” and other such rot and it shouldn’t be too tough to understand my iron determination to avoid the whole emetic shebang.

That being said, can someone pinpoint for me exactly when the Olympics went from being something we all could believe in to the godforsaken sideshow it and the events that surround it are today? Can someone tell me why we should give more than 60 seconds of our time to whatever beleaguered media event is scheduled for Tokyo?

Not really, no. But I’m probably not the guy you wanna be asking.

The Norwegian Women’s Beach Handball team (and btw, what the hell is beach handball and when did it become an Olympic sport? What’s next, shuffleboard?) was fined $1,700 for choosing to wear shorts instead of bikini bottoms during competition. The team noted that the shorts were easier to play in, and I am reliably informed by an actual woman and not a “menstruating person” that during a woman’s period, bikini bottoms can be problematic at best, and disastrous at worst.

A measly 1700 clams? Hell, I doubt that will be anything like enough to get the Norwegian lassies back into the bikinis again, blast it. Although I will concede the point about the menstruation issue, if somewhat grudgingly.

Although the sanction was played down, the message is clear, whether the league officials approve it or not: People are expected to tune in to the Olympics to see scantily clad women, not athletes. Apparently, there is money to be made by blurring the line between sports fan and hormone-stricken teen. Or dirty old man.

NOW you’re singing my tune, buddy.

On the flip side, track and field Paralympian Olivia Breen was told at the English Championship that her shorts were too short.

Unpossible. Ain’t no such thing. Except on a fat broad, of course.

And as if that were not enough, another Paralympian, Becca Meyers, has withdrawn from the Tokyo games. Meyers is a swimmer and is blind and deaf. She was told she could not bring her caregiver with her. Did I mention that her caregiver is her mother? Never mind Becca Meyers’ needs or her dignity. Let’s get that blind and deaf girl in front of the cameras.

Okay, I will agree that does seem a pretty shitty thing to do. Pointless, petty, and self-defeating also, just a bonehead move all around. One wonders just what the hell those people were even thinking with that one.

So, the Norwegians are sanctioned for not showing enough skin—because, you know, sex and ratings and stuff. The Paralympians are sanctioned for being people and not merely disabled and checking the right box for the IOC, sponsors, and broadcasters. They have no value as athletes or as people. Once again, human beings are made into products.

So, for the sake of the Norwegian Women’s Beach Handball team, Olivia Breen, and Becca Meyers, when the Tokyo games begin, I would tell the IOC and whatever idiot legacy media outlet has the temerity to broadcast the games to go to hell. Go directly to hell.

Oh, I assure you I will be. The last few fucking Olympics came and went with me being completely unaware they were even going on at all, a streak I intend to extend by ignoring them again this year, or whenever it is these fucking Olympics are scheduled to take place. Not having to pretend I give a lumpy fart about the Games is a big ol’ win as far as I’m concerned.

Fly Fall from the friendly skies!

Man, I sure am getting a lot of mileage lately from that old ad slogan, ain’t I?

It seems like a really bad idea, yet it’s one United Airlines reportedly just bought into – probably for many millions of dollars (the actual sum hasn’t been disclosed). It will “invest” in the development – italics to emphasize the nonexistence at present – of the ES-19, an electric aircraft that exists on the drawing board only. This hypothetical aircraft is being developed by a Swedish company with the cloying name, Heart Aerospace – which summons images of kumba-ya’ing around the campfire in a collective hug.

But will it fly?

Not with me in it, it won’t. Not ever, not one single time.

It is claimed that the ES-19 will have a range of about 250 miles – which is just barely enough to make the short hop from DC Dulles to a regional airport such as Roanoke, in SW Virginia. With very little margin to spare. What happens if the plane needs to circle, as because of traffic or weather?

Maybe it would be a good idea to equip this one with parachutes rather than flotation devices.

People who know airplanes raise other pertinent questions, such as the drain on the electric airplane’s batteries during taxiing from the terminal to the runway, which as anyone who flies commercially knows sometimes takes half an hour or more. All the while, the heat or AC must be running, in addition to the lights and all the plane’s electrical systems. Does the advertised 250 mile range factor these considerations in?

The FAA nominally requires redundancies and margins-of-error for commercial aircraft especially. It is why, for instance, commercial aircraft that fly over the ocean must be able to remain in the air if one or more engines cut out.

What if the batteries cut out?

Which – it bears repeating – it is more likely to because an electric airplane will necessarily be heavier than a jet-powered airplane because of the massive weight of the batteries that will be necessary to drive electric props sufficiently powerful to get it in the air. But the weight of all those batteries will necessarily reduce the amount of time it can remain in the air.

If it smells of unicorn farts, your nose is working.

Astute commenter Baxter raises a glaringly obvious potential-failure-point issue that leaves one totally mystified as to what the everlasting fuck the Supergenii™ skull-sweating over this fever-dream could possibly be thinking—besides MUH GAIA!!!, that is.

Other things to think about: Batteries suck when it gets cold. Forget an electric car in the winter when it’s 20 degrees F. Planes need to fly high where there is less air friction. Think about a plane (summer or winter, doesn’t matter) at 35,000 feet where it’s 65 degrees below zero F. Plane batteries will obviously need to be heated. Where does that heat come from? The batteries, limiting range even more so.

Obviously, as with the Goobermint-decreed transition from ICE cars to useless, unreliable, and unsafe coal-powered ones, the hidden agenda here is to eventually eliminate flying altogether. Except for the Kommissars, natch. They’ll still carry on as before, just without having to sully themselves with any unpleasant physical proximity to us beastly, smelly serfs in the airport cocktail lounge anymore. The vlasti won’t be replacing their in-flight steak or burger with the new bug-beef they’re foisting off on us proles either, you betcher.

See ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya

Unexpectedly, inadvertently, and for the first and only time in his entire useless existence, senile alleged “President” Grampy Fingerbang has done the right thing.

Good Riddance, Afghanistan
merican forces are finally departing Afghanistan. While Donald Trump had promised to end the inconclusive war there, he eventually gave in to the pleas of the defense and intelligence community and continued the war. Other than a few dozen more dead Americans, and a few more hundreds of billions of dollars up in smoke, it’s not clear what these additional years of effort achieved. Now Joe Biden has finally acknowledged the political and military reality: if we haven’t lost, we certainly are not winning or making any progress.

One of the most remarkable things about the last few weeks is how utterly brittle the Afghan security forces and government have turned out to be. After billions of dollars spent on training, equipment, and support, the Afghan National Army is abandoning large bases, along with state-of-the-art guns, optics, and military equipment. These are now in the hands of the Taliban. For all the talk of our Afghan partners and their heroic national commitment to democracy, none of it turned out to be worth much when the training wheels were taken away.

It is not even clear if the American-supported Afghan government will last as long as the Soviet supported regime, which held on for three years after the Soviet withdrawal in 1989.

While it is clearly time to leave, it is worth thinking for a moment about why the entire Afghanistan mission, particularly after 2002, was a fool’s errand.

The mission became distorted over time. After 9/11, Americans wanted revenge. That mission was a simple one: punish the Taliban, destroy al-Qaeda, and capture or kill Osama bin Laden. Within a month of the attacks, our troops were in the field.

The campaign featured a novel operational approach. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld wanted to show the military that it needed to learn to do more with less. His concept of “transformation” limited troop numbers, a feature of what was called the “Revolution in Military Affairs.” This theory proposed that the combined effects of high-speed communications, sophisticated sensors, and precision air power, would succeed where the traditional military’s risk-averse, heavy footprint would fail.

At first it seemed Rumsfeld and the revolutionaries were right. Very quickly, the Taliban melted away under pressure from American special forces, the Afghan Northern Alliance, and a fusillade of precision guided bombs in the months after 9/11.

But the first hint of trouble appeared soon thereafter. In the Battle of Tora Bora and later in Operation Anaconda, the Army’s lack of artillery (on Rusmfeld’s order) and the lack of sufficient blocking troops allowed the lion’s share of al-Qaeda, including Bin Laden, to slip away and obtain refuge in Pakistan’s lawless tribal areas. He wouldn’t be killed for another decade.

Unable to use our forces in our nominal ally’s territory, the United States and NATO emphasized the secondary aspects of the mission. They got to work on “nation building.” Political and military leaders defended this approach as enlightened realism, because al-Qaeda flourished at the extremes, in either weak states or politically repressive ones. Developing governing institutions and security forces, while expanding human rights to women and minorities, would create enduring stability and reverse the conditions in which al-Qaeda previously thrived.

This was an ambitious strategy, made twice as hard by the artificially low levels of troops. It became even more challenging after the start of the Iraq venture, which put Afghanistan on the backburner until the 2009 surge. Afghanistan is a famously violent and tribal place, where disparate tribes only unite under the banner of Islam to expel foreign invaders. The American concepts of democracy and liberalism were a message that worked at cross purposes to our efforts to obtain legitimacy and security. After all, these changes slowed down the decision-making of the Afghan government, while also alienating many Afghans, Taliban or not.

The biggest mistake we made in Afghanistan was presuming we had to turn the Middle East into an American-style democracy in order to have peace. We presumed we had to rectify the root causes in order to maintain national security. The same scenario played out in Iraq, Libya, and Syria. In all of these cases, our efforts did not increase our security or enhance stability, and sometimes made things worse.

More limited and realistic options were available, including the old fashioned punitive raid. Wrecking a place sends a message too, a message of deterrence. Because we viewed it as our duty to lift up the Afghans—strange people with whom we have no historical or other connections—and because no one wanted to admit the flawed foundations of the war, we ended up there for 20 years, long after most of al-Qaeda had decamped for Pakistan.

Even accepting the strategic premise, it’s not clear that anything we did enhanced stability or reduced international terrorism. Afghanistan has been in a state of civil war since our arrival. ISIS also materialized in the meantime. Al-Qaeda is still around. And attacks within the United States by immigrants and home-grown Islamic terrorists have continued the entire time.

By trying to do too much, we accomplished too little. The U.S. military is perfectly capable of bombing, killing, and capturing people. But, even with the help of its second army of contractors and do-gooder NGOs, the United States is not particularly good at nation building. We are no longer the America of the Marshall Plan, and the people of Afghanistan are not the same as Germans, Japanese, or even Iraqis for that matter.

To turn disorder into order is a difficult thing. Democracy is probably not the best tool for doing it. Historically, liberal democracy is normally an end stage form of government, not a foundational one. Moreover, our entire approach does little to account for the strict Islam of the Afghan people and their pre-Islamic tribalism. This comprehensive religion, coupled with this cultural inheritance, is not fertile soil for a democracy, let alone a liberal one.

Leaving Afghanistan does not diminish the bravery of our soldiers, the magnitude of the 9/11 attacks, or the need to avenge those deaths and remain vigilant against terror threats.

But we are neither avenging nor remaining vigilant in Afghanistan today. Since 2002 or so, we have been going in circles against a local resistance to our presence. Any temporary gains soon evaporate, as we lack sufficient troops to hold what we have cleared, and the Afghan security forces are woefully inadequate to consolidate the gains. The overall connection of any of this activity to U.S. security is minimal.

Our feckless, thoroughly politicized general-officer corps turned the Graveyard of Empires into the Playground of the Ruling Class, their own private test-bed for weapons systems, surveillance technology, and tactical doctrine. The experiments and aimless fiddle-fucking around cost too many good soldiers their lives, shattering morale and unit cohesion without producing anything of notable use. American troops trained to kick ass and take names were forced to bleed and die under preposterous ROEs that put them at severe hazard while granting every advantage to a savage and deadly foe.

From early on, it became all too clear that Afghanistan was to be an open-ended campaign in which victory would remain undefined, unpursued, and beyond reach, the ultimate outcome a foregone conclusion. The Playground should have been shut down years ago. The hapless Biden deserves no credit for it whatsoever, but I’m glad to see this unholy mess finally grinding to a halt, however ignoble and humiliating a one it might be. The FUSA—its “leaders,” its subjects, and its military—bears a moral obligation to not even dream of launching another war of any kind or magnitude until the multifarious issues raised by its Afghanistan dumpster fire have been properly addressed.

Busted redux

Imagine my surprise.

Some of the members of a gay men’s chorus that released a controversial viral video in which the singers promised to “corrupt your kids” and “convert your children” appear to be convicted pedophiles, according to research conducted by The Western Journal.

The chorus roster and board of directors of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus were apparently removed from the group’s website around the time these revelations became public.

The chorus also has an outreach program that “brings [the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus] into elementary, middle, and high schools across the Bay Area to share a message of love, inclusivity, and strength.”

The Western Journal reached out to the group via email and social media on Friday.

The “Contact Us” page on the group’s website also appears to have been removed.

The choir was asked to comment on the accusations, whether there are in fact convicted pedophiles on its roster, why the chorus roster was removed from the website and if the group conducts background checks on members before sending them to places like schools where children are present.

The group did not immediately respond to our request for comment.

No, I just bet they didn’t. And won’t, if they can possibly avoid it. The KiddleDiddle Singers are in full-on defensive-crouch mode now, hoping against hope that this will all just dry up and blow away soon without too much more damage. That unenviable situation is what can happen when one lets the little head do all the thinking for the big head, as the old joke goes.

The Graveyard of Empires: “A complete and utter waste, aye?”

Aye.

Only other retarded thing I heard was some midwit fucktard reporter breathlessly talking about the weapons we left behind…So fucking what I sez Aye? Small arms. Big deal. MRAPs? So what? Like they’re going to form up a caravan of the fucking things and head to Europe overland? And do exactly what? 10 to 1 those over-sized over-armored RVs, once they fucking break down, (and believe me they -will- break down…ask me of how I know this) they’ll be stripped of any useful resalable metal, and turned into either small shelters, or just left to rot in place like they did to all the former Soviet Armor that got left behind.

Big. Fucking. Deal.

Mind you -I- personally was responsible in 2013 for signing off on the demo of a metric shit-ton of MRAPs. I also, no Bullshit, witnessed the reason for the “No Ship Home/Demo Excess” orders. Quite literally, there I was, in 2013, on Bagram. I waiting for a minibus to get me to work when:

Follows, a gin-yoo-wine Ho Lee SHIT!!! video of the actual 747 crash BCE goes on to discuss next, a horrifying thing to watch. Onwards.

Now, didn’t see the plane.
HEARD the impact.
Shit, felt that motherfucker.
Saw the fireball/impact like in the immediate aftermath. At first I was worried it was a C-17. When I got to work, word had gotten thru the contractor grapevine that it was a 747 Air Cargo that’d augured in. Ye Olde Contractor Grapevine used to work quicker n’ the pony express I swear. That particular shitshow came aboot because the DotMil -tried- to ship some MRAPs out of theater via air. The heavy motherfuckers broke loose during takeoff (instead of chains, they’d used cargo straps or some such retarded shit like that,) and you can see the moment when the whole cargo ‘shifted’ right before the plane completely smokes in in the vidya. End result of it was we got orders a few weeks later.
Scrap ’em.
Can’t take ’em out the way they came in via Air, and overland to ‘friendly lines’?
Whelp, ain’t no such t’ing mon.
So, Demo Time

7 billion in MRAPs.
65 Million of that -I- personally signed off on.  No shit… I did the 1348A-1, to include the DEMIL annexes on the excess-to-needs first go around MRAPs in Kandahar. Almost exactly 100 of the fuckers. $600K and change per fucking truck. And without any sort of bullshit, some of them? Like the lowest mileage ever on a DotMil Truck. We’re not talking about beat-to-fuckall trucks. Nope. Brand. Fucking. New. Bit weather-worn, as these were replacements, some of them being the ‘on deck’ replacements.  Try 6.7 MILES on one of them. Reason for this was that the trucks that units had on hand already? Already on hand, already on their property books. ALL the parent-child serial numbers too. To break out a new truck from deep storage, paperwork and time wise is a stone bitch. Most units didn’t want/need the fucking hassle. Hell, as the property book manager for 60 units, I needed the extra paperwork like another hole in the fucking grape.

So, via con Dios new trucks. Paperwork done, they went to a scrap yard, where quite literally, they were stripped of any and all useful shit that was quick and easy to remove, and then they were pushed into they BIGGEST metal eating grinding machine I’ve ever seen. MRAP in one side, large chunks of metal out the other side. I couldn’t take pics tho, as the DotMil was all ‘leery’ of ‘bad optics’ of brand new MRAPs going into the chipper.

A complete and utter waste Aye?

‘Fraid so, bro, ‘fraid so. I try, but can’t find any way around it. It’s sick-making, that’s what. Your tax dollars at work.

Of people lives, killed or wounded
Nevermind permanently damaged and psychologically shattered.
Of resources
Squandered money that would have been better spent elsewhere.
Of National Honor, if there ever was such a thing
And yet we’re saber rattling at Russia…again for the ten millionth time.
“”Maybe you aren’t up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal!” Hudson, ‘Aliens’
AFTER the Russians got theirs kicked by the same exact farmers, goatfuckers, and wild-eyed Islamic Mountain men. I honestly said in 2001 that if we -did- invade Affy, we’d lose. Afghanistan is the “Graveyard of Empires”…The Brits tried it not once, but twice, thrice if you include them on this particular jaunt. The USSR at the height of it’s “We’re Badass Ivan!” times and they got their asses handed to them as well.
By doodz with Henry Martini rifles, AKs, supplied Stingers and a patchwork pastiche of small arms for the most part. As pure a guerilla war as could be. Tenacious badass hardcore Islamic fuckers who died in droves but never, ever gave up.

Talk about not learning from history.

Reminds me of the socialists/communists these days…”But that wasn’t real -insert ideology-  This time it’ll work!”  Also like them fucking idiots saying “Voat harder” after all the current shenanigans and bullshit.
Leave me the fuck out of it Aye.
Let me have my patch, my guns, my buzz, my woman and my family.
The rest? I’m content to watch it burn.

Likewise, plus. Glad you made it back, BC. All too many didn’t.

Pressure campaign

With all big-stick wielding tyrannies, there’s an observable progression: first, it’s scolding. Then, pressure. Then, intimidation. Then, threats. Then, commands. Finally, we get around to punishment.

Biden Regime to Go ‘Door-to-Door’ in Effort to Convince Unvaccinated Americans to Get the Jab
The Biden administration announced Tuesday that in the coming weeks federal workers will be sent to the homes of unvaccinated Americans as part of its effort to get more people vaccinated.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the administration will be seeking out unvaccinated people to educate them on the vaccine’s safety and accessibility.

During the daily White House briefing, Psaki said that they will be targeting communities for “door-to-door outreach to get remaining Americans vaccinated by ensuring they have the information they need on how both safe and assessible the vaccine is.”

I assure you I already do, thanks. That’s your whole problem.

The regime is stepping up efforts to get Americans vaccinated after falling short Biden’s July 4th goal of getting 70 percent of adults to have received at least one vaccination shot.

Only 47 percent of Americans are reportedly fully vaccinated despite an abundance of the vaccine.

“We believe that we need to continue to press to get more people in the country vaccinated,” Ms. Psaki said. “These programs will continue.”

Oh, I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.

She told reporters that there is no federal mandate planned, though some universities and employers are issuing vaccination requirements.

“We leave it up to them to make that decision,” Psaki said.

Gee, how very big of you. I gotta tell ya, though, I only hope one of your Armtwister Psych Squads DOES knock on my damned door. The very least they can expect from me is a red-hot earful they ain’t gonna enjoy a single syllable of.

Final stages

Or, if you want to be a bit more prosaic about it: death throes.

The events at the spa were bad enough. The attack by AntiFa, and the subsequent actions of the police in 1) refusing to defend the peaceable protestors and 2) arresting a man who dared to defend himself make it plain that Los Angeles, California is about to collapse into complete chaos – and it might take the whole state with it.

The Golden State is the chief “produce cart” of these United States. Imagine it as a “failed state” in which there is no order and no safety. Be quick about it; soon you won’t need to imagine.

The lesson in this “should” be “obvious.” Sadly, it isn’t.

Throughout the nation, public order is breaking down. I can hardly name a city of significant size where Black Lives Matter and AntiFa don’t run rampant. Municipal police departments are either indifferent or impotent. Though there haven’t yet been many, reports of home invasions by those forces are making honest, peaceable Americans fearful about their own homes. As for urban commercial districts, I hardly think I need comment.

Los Angeles may be the forerunner of a complete social collapse from coast to coast. The consequences will include food shortages, loss of electrical power, unavailability of fuels, disruption of the roads, open gang violence, and many other things. If you think having the kids confined to the house this past year was bad, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet – and I hope you never do, though in my view the portents are grim.

The following is from a novel-under-construction:

“Public order is a matter of public will,” Merrell said in his most famous first-term address. “We have lacked the will. We dislike to compel immigrants and the young to conform to the norms of public decorum. We dislike to demand that public charges aim for self-sufficiency and make an honest effort to achieve it. We dislike to budget for law enforcement. We dislike to see armed men who embody the authority of the law patrolling our streets. We dislike to erect and staff prisons. We especially dislike to clear the streets of vagrants and idlers by force, or to hold parents responsible for the deeds of their miscreant children. Yet these measures, not ‘tolerance,’ nor ‘leniency,’ nor ‘understanding,’ nor ‘compassion,’ nor ‘community service,’ are the ones that will mitigate our problems with poverty, vagrancy, vandalism, and more serious crimes.”

Would anyone care to argue with John Merrell?

Remember the immense improvement in the condition of New York City when Mayor Rudy Giuliani sent forth its police to enforce all the laws, including the ones pertinent to “quality of life?” You don’t have to be that old to recall those years. Giuliani’s success in making the Big Apple a pleasant place to live, work, and shop was why he acquired the sobriquet “America’s Mayor.” Contrast the Giuliani years with those of the odious crypto-Communist Bill de Blasio.

I remember it quite well; as it happens, I moved to NYC for the very last thrashing about of the Dinkins mis-administration, and the difference when Giuliani took the City Hall reins was impossible to miss. There’s really no credible way to deny that the man singlehandedly saved NYC from itself, although certainly there are plenty of fools who tried then and still do today.

Of course, since I lived on the LES the professionally designed and printed posters plastered all over downtown featuring a pic of Rudy with a Hitler-style brush moustache and thinning combover, denouncing him as a “Nazi” and “literally Hitler,” were equally impossible to miss. Alas, New Yorkers have for many years been people who simply don’t understand what’s good for them; like a child balking at the taste of his medicine, they’d just as soon stay sick, thanks.

There is only one issue that matters in the elections of the years before us: law and order. No candidate who refuses to make that his one and only priority should receive even a single vote. Unless and until peaceable Americans are once more able to go about their lives without fear, this nation will come ever closer to chaos and disintegration. Whether anything could be reclaimed from the wreckage is dubious.

The traditional norms of public deportment, from the prohibition of violence all the way to standards of decency, must be enforced humorlessly and without exception. Nothing else will serve. What people choose to do in the privacy of their homes is of no moment.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. But nobody should be laying down any significant sum betting that it’s at all likely to happen. The chaos, division, and strife sown by the Evil Left has been working way too well for them to expect they’d dream of tolerating such a thing. There’s only one effective way to deal with their recalcitrance, a macabre last resort that we’re all perfectly well aware of. They seem bound and determined to leave us with no other choice but to kill them off in job lots—and with every passing day, I grow more convinced that they ought to get their wish.

DOOOOOMED!!!

Everybody got their last will and testaments current and their life insurance paid up?

Top experts have likened the COVID-19 “Delta Variant” to the common cold and hay fever. This comes as people like Anthony Fauci, Boris Johnson, and the WHO are pushing for more social distancing, lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccinations.

Experts in the United Kingdom have compared the symptoms of the COVID-19 “Delta Variant” to that of hay fever and the common cold, according to various reports. The new strain has reportedly been the cause of 99% of all new COVID-19 cases in the UK. “The main symptoms of COVID-19 appear to have changed — with headaches and sore throats now more common than fevers and coughs, according to a warning by UK experts,” noted the New York Post.

Dr. Fauci continues to assert that “the Delta variant is currently the greatest threat in the US to our attempt to eliminate COVID-19,” which reportedly has accounted for 20% of all new COVID-19 cases in the United States. Fauci maintains that COVID-19 vaccines can protect people from the “Delta Variant,” adding that young, unvaccinated people are “more vulnerable than ever.”

However, many Americans are skeptical about the COVID-19 vaccinations they’ve received amid reports of the “Delta Variant” infecting individuals after they’ve been fully vaccinated. As was reported by the Wall Street Journal, “About half of adults infected in an outbreak of the Delta variant of Covid-19 in Israel were fully inoculated with the Pfizer Inc. vaccine, prompting the government to reimpose an indoor mask requirement and other measures to contain the highly transmissible strain.”

On May 13, Joe Biden told America to “get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do,” prompting hundreds of millions of Americans to eventually receive their COVID-19 vaccines.

I will not comply, and you and your grubby little bureau-stooges can all go fuck yourselves. Preferably, with something razor sharp, rusty, and very, very girthy.

Learning from history…or not

Sarah says a mouthful.

APROPOS OF PETER GRANT’S BLOG POST, YOU MIGHT FIND THIS BOOK USEFUL: The Washing of the Spears: The Rise and Fall of the Zulu Nation Under Shaka and Its Fall in the Zulu War of 1879 (Touchstone Books) by Donald R. Morris.

There probably is some bias in there (and not on the side of white anything) though I don’t remember detecting it, when I did my deep dive into African history 17 years ago. What became very clear to me is that whenever civilized (in this case defined as post-tribal) humans collide with tribal humans, tribal humans lose. They use the techniques that work in between tribes, imagining that their adversaries are also a tribe:

They start off with unimaginable massacres and horrible evil in the belief that this will cause the adversaries to back off. Because this works, between tribes. But when you’re dealing with people who view human individuals as both important, and important regardless of tribe, the more atrocities they commit the more they aggravate the anger of the civilized people.

The civilized hold back, afraid of committing atrocities, and the tribal humans commit more atrocities, and act like victors, while doing truly horrific things.

And then at some point the post-tribal people lose it.

What comes after is usually horrific and causes college social studies majors to cry centuries later.

This dance has been performed over and over and over again, since Rome at least. Since we had a polity that transcended tribes. The end is always the same.

So, the neo-tribal barbarians of the left who are following the script to the letter might wish to hear and revise their tactics. They won’t, of course, but we should warn them, all the same. Since we’re the ones who are trying to avoid the horrors.

I’ve said the same myself, countless times. And like Sarah is beginning to, I long since despaired of the purblind fools ever waking up and taking their foot off the accelerator pedal, or at least just reducing speed slightly. But no. For them it can only ever be full throttle, and pay no never-mind to that big brick wall looming just up the road a piece. With those who refuse to pay heed, warnings are useless. It appears they can only learn the hardest possible way, if at all.

So be it, then. Time for them to get schooled.
