For those of you keeping score at home

Looks like Trump intends not to be undone this time around by hiring all the worst people—namely, Obammy stay-behinds, Yertel McTurtle endorsees and other Deep State RINO picks, and sundry other Swamp critters.

Trump Names Two More Picks for His Administration…
Trump’s new administration is quickly taking shape. On Tuesday evening, President Trump has announced two major nominations that underscore his commitment to an “America First” national security policy. Trump’s picks are poised to bring a fierce dedication to upholding American interests and strengthening national security.

The first nomination was John Ratcliffe for director of the CIA.

“From exposing fake Russian collusion to be a Clinton campaign operation, to catching the FBI’s abuse of Civil Liberties at the FISA Court, John Ratcliffe has always been a warrior for Truth and Honesty with the American Public,” Trump said in a statement.

“When 51 intelligence officials were lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop, there was one, John Ratcliffe, telling the truth to the American People,” Trump continued. This kind of integrity, in Trump’s view, is what has set Ratcliffe apart in his field.

Trump will also nominate Pete Hegseth for secretary of Defense. This was a surprising move, as Hegseth is largely known for his role as a Fox News contributor. But Hegseth, a decorated Army combat veteran, is no stranger to national defense. Having served in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan, he was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge for his battlefield service. Hegseth is also a Princeton and Harvard graduate, pairing an elite academic background with real-world experience.

“Nobody fights harder for the Troops, and Pete will be a courageous and patriotic champion of our ‘Peace through Strength’ policy,” Trump said.

These are the latest picks in a long line of selections that the radical left aren’t happy about. Among them are campaign co-manager Susie Wiles, who was chosen as Trump’s chief of staff, with GOP Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., being picked as U.N. ambassador. Former ICE Director Tom Homan will serve as border czar, and Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., will lead the EPA. Sen. Marco Rubio is expected to be secretary of State, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem will head Homeland Security. Trump also named former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel.

Encouraging, I’d say; all of those appointments actually sound pretty darn good to me, with the possible exception of Stefanik, maybe. Then again, even Nikki Haley managed to do a pretty good job in that same post during OMB’s first term, so how much damage can Stefanik really do there? Rubio, Noem, and Hucklebee fir particularly well in their respective slots, I think. The main thing now, IMHO, is that Trump lays down a solid foundation for President JD Vance’s two terms.

Helpful hupdate! No slam intended against Pete Hegseth, mind. But if for whatever unforeseen reason he doesn’t work out, Mr President Trump, sir, may I submit for your consideration another stellar SecDef candidate: your friend and mine, the esteemed (and usually estoned and esdrunked) Mr Big Country Expat. He knows a great deal about all matters military, can boast a great deal of experience walking point in hotspots across the entire world, knows a trigger sear from one of those shoulder thingies that folds down, once rigged up a homemade flamethrower that in fact actually did work as intended, and has been known to not suffer fools gladly or take even a small ration of shit from them.

Why yes, I DID steal that great line from my late friend Chris Pfouts, why do you ask? A-HENH!

Q & A

Baron does a little apres-Trumprising© speculating, prognosticating, and expenditure of what Heinlein liked to call skull-sweat.

What Comes Next?
Regardless of what one’s opinion of Donald J. Trump is, last night’s resounding electoral victory was a remarkable achievement. For four years Mr. Trump was relentlessly denounced, excoriated, vilified, persecuted, prosecuted, convicted, sentenced, and fined. He was demonized and blocked on every legacy media outlet (with the partial exception of Fox News) and on all major social media, with the exception of X/Twitter. Academia and Hollywood were all but unanimous in their vocal denunciation of him. Major media outlets systematically buried any positive news about him, and accentuated any negative news — or made it up, when necessary.

Yet the man still won a resounding victory on November 5, both in the Electoral College and the popular vote. He headed a massive swing towards the Republicans in Congress, flipping the Senate and reinforcing the Republican majority in the House.

Kamala Harris has now conceded. What happened to all those mail-in ballots for her which had been “harvested” and made ready for discovery during the vote-counting during the wee hours of this morning in crucial precincts in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin? If last night had been a replay of 2020, we would have seen a sudden inexplicable shift to Kamala while the nation slept.

But it didn’t happen. Sundance at Conservative Tree House makes the case that 18 million fraudulent votes were missing from last night’s count, compared with Joe Biden’s results four years ago.

Why is that? The machinery was in place for the big steal, but it was never used. What happened?

Bearing all of the above in mind, I’ll go out on a limb and give you my guesses about what is really going on, and what may lie ahead.

I think Mr. Trump was deliberately allowed to win. The Democrat operatives had the truckloads of ballots ready in Pennsylvania and Michigan, but unlike what they did in 2020, they chose not to deliver them all in the middle of the night. Someone told them to stand down.

Read the rest for the thrilling conclusion of tonight’s story.

Over the past few weeks, I arrived at more or less the same place as Bodissey my own self. From this vantage, one can’t help but be reminded of Steyn’s dour catechism: This is happening because they WANT it to happen. Right or wrong, good, bad, or indifferent, as of now the Deep State’s orc-hosts remain unfought; the fetid Swamp is not drained, the foul Critters resident therein not yet brought to heel.

The Barad-dûr yet stands. The Lidless Eye of Sauron scours Morgul Vale in search of his hopelessly overmatched, exhausted, but nevertheless valiant foes in hopes he might bring them to uttermost defeat, thereby enabling the Dark Lord to attain untrammeled, incontestable power over all Free Peoples at long, long last.

Ahh, but be ye not dismayed by the fearsome might of Sauron the Great nor the advent of his terrible Darkness, Men of the West! Stand fast; for even in this, the very Hour of Doom, a victory is still a victory, a win still a win. Great or small, fleeting or enduring, decisive or inconclusive, every battlefield triumph is well worth celebrating. In the midst of the hard-earned revels, however, Our Side must be ever-mindful that the question put to us in Baron’s title is now become the main thing—the only thing, in fact. We’ll have the answer soon enough, I reckon.

Amusing apologia! Reviewing this post just now for purposes of editing, typo-correction, and other such obsessive-compulsive nitpickery, I have to say: NAAAH, I ain’t much of a damn’ Tolkien geek or anything, am I? Heh.

They won’t learn the lesson if you don’t take ’em to school

Schlichter nails it to the fucking floor.

We Won and We Need to Act Like It
Breathe deeply and savor the musky scent of broken leftist dreams. Mmmmmmm. Smells like freedom! Now, we must get busy pummeling our enemies. Some silly people will say that you shouldn’t kick an opponent when he’s down. That’s actually the best time to kick him.

This is no time to go wobbly. We beat the left decisively and completely. Their humiliation is complete. They thought they had us at their feet and at their mercy. They thought they could throw our avatar in jail and thereby disenfranchise and silence us. They thought they were going to be in power forever and rule over us as if we were serfs and they were feudal lords, except feudal lords were actually kind of butch and had swords and stuff and didn’t go around crying because someone used the wrong pronoun to describe them.

The leftists on the decisive platform Twitter – let’s have a big round of applause for Elon Musk and, while we’re at it, the great Scott Pressler, who may have single-handedly won this thing through his work in Pennsylvania – are also melting down. They’re very upset. This is good. But some Republicans, who are eager to return to the Elder Times, will want to console and comfort them and reassure them that it’s all going to be OK. This is so very wrong. We need to ensure that it is not going to be OK for them. We need to break their stranglehold on our culture and our government. That can’t be done gently. It has to be done ruthlessly and harshly. After they literally tried to throw Trump in jail for the rest of his life and murder him, let’s hope our rebooted president understands that.

This is not the time to be nice. This is the time to rub their faces in their defeat. Somebody’s got to win this fight. I propose it be us. When we beat the Japanese and the Germans, we did not forgive and forget. We broke them. We exacted righteous retribution. Only then did we allow them to return in a form that would no longer threaten us. Now, sadly, the Germans can’t threaten anybody, and for too long, we had to pay for their defense, but that’s going to change under Trump 2.0. As for the Democrats, they lost and now they get to experience what losing means.

They are entering the “Finding Out” phase.

Exactly, precisely so. It’s what I was trying to get across here, but Kurt says it so much better than I ever could.

As such, knuckling under to their piteous, lunatic caterwaul would severely undercut the verymost critical part of the handy-dandy FAFO formulation: the “Finding out” part. That would be an error of truly monumental proportions, one which would only guarantee that we’ll have to relive the sweaty, hideous nightmare we’ve only just emerged from far sooner than we otherwise might.

So yeah, let’s not do that, then. Let ’em scream, let ’em cry, let ’em wave their chubby little fists and wail “it’s not FAAAIIIIRRRR!” like the whinging brats they so truly are. But above all else, MAKE. THEM. PAY. Back to the esteemed COL Schlichter for our denouement.

To the victor goes the spoils. Time to collect our spoils. We won. We need to act like it. And if they aren’t crying, we aren’t trying.

Yes indeedy.

Here we go again

Kudos and a big fat “attaboy” to Trump lawyer Mike Davis for putting it straight, no chaser.

Your “Show more” workaround:

“I DARE YOU to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump […] We’re not messing around this time and we will put your fatass in prison for conspiracy against rights.”

This. This right HERE, friends. Puts me in mind of a tasty meme I’ve been sitting on for a while now:

To quote my knuckle-tattoos: BANG, ZOOM!

Alas, there are those out there who will insist that we must “take the high road,” that we “not descend to their level,” all the same old codswallop. Ever wonder why Our Side has been losing to the Enemy for so long we can hardly even remember what winning feels like? Very simple, very easy: because Their Side plays hardball—remorselessly, unapologetically, continually—while Our Side plays soft NO-ball.

Ace offers a somewhat different, more pragmatic take:

For context: I think James started this war of words by claiming she was getting ready to prosecute Trump through is presidency.

Which itself is more evidence that all of her charges are bogus.

Here’s the trouble: Trump seems to be on the verge of the New York Court of Appeals overturning this charge. The judges were extremely skeptical of all aspects of James’ felonious prosecution.

But government paper-pushers protect each other. If the Court feels that Trump is threatening a fellow bureaucrat, they can decline to overturn the charges, or just suspend them until Trump’s out of office.

Yelling and blustering like the drunk guy in a bar feels good but it’s usually not the best strategy.

Don’t get me wrong; I do agree that Tish James is behaving illegally and is using her power to punish a political opponent. And indeed, she admitted as much in her campaign.

And it would be justice to do the same thing to her.

But it’s not wise to threaten her openly as the justices debate the charges. Especially when you’re on the verge of a huge vindication.

If you think liberal justices are going to just say “Well, they’re both doing it, there’s no harm here,” then you have a different understanding of partisan liberal Democrats than I do.

He may have a point, and it may even be a good one. Be that as it may, though, I contend that Davis’s approach is the way to go: hit ’em HARD, hit ‘em often; make ‘em cry, bring the pain down on ’em again and again and again until they beg you to stop. Then hit ‘em again, even harder. Never let up, never show ‘em an ounce of mercy. God forgives; we, on the other hand, do NOT. As Juanny Mav McLame confirmed for us so many times over so many years, treating with them as if they were honorable, decent folks is nothing but a mug’s game.

Contra our ol’ buddy Ace, I think it’s far more likely that the NY Court of Appeals is holding a moistened finger aloft, testing which way the wind is blowing—hence the rumors of abandoning the lawfare campaign against Trump. The reason for this sudden volte-face is patently obvious: FEAR, period fucking dot.

As has always been inevitable, the Left/D卐M☭CRATs/whatever spent the last five-ten years pushing way too far, way too hard, way too fast. Tuesday may have slammed on the pernicious Letitia James’s brakes for the nonce, but the accelerator pedal has assuredly been neither removed nor disconnected.

Trump’s overwhelming landslide victory this week of right ought to be viewed not as just a run-of-the-mill, politics-as-usual “election” win, but as an actual, by-God uprising. That point should be, MUST be, driven home like a stake through a vampire’s heart, so that the Goosesteppin’ Left won’t ever dare forget. Nothing less will suffice.

At the risk of becoming tiresome, I’ll make with the sagacious words of history’s greatest cavalryman Bedford Forrest once again: Get ‘em skeered, and keep the skeer on ‘em. It really is the only way. We try to make nice with the cloven-hoofed devils of the Left at our tremendous peril…a grievous unforced error we will, as usual, very much regret ere the end.

Dog bites man

Liberalism delenda est.

Halperin: Trump Win Will Trigger ‘Unprecedented and Hideous’ Mental Health Crisis
Many have been wondering how the left will take it if Donald Trump wins the 2024 election. According to veteran political analyst Mark Halperin, a Trump-Vance victory will trigger “the greatest mental health crisis in the history of the country.”

Halperin sat in on Tucker Carlson’s show this week for a wide-ranging discussion. When Carlson asked him what he thought would happen if Trump wins, Halperin predicted a psychological holocaust on the left that would fall somewhere between “The Purge” and the zombie apocalypse.

“I say this not flippantly,” began Halperin. “I think it will be the cause of the greatest mental health crisis in the history of the country. I think tens of millions of people will question their connection to the nation, their connection to other human beings, their connection to their vision of what their future — for them and their children — could be like. And I think that it will require an enormous amount of access to mental health professionals. I think it’ll lead to trauma in the workplace. I think there’ll be some degree of —“

At this point, an incredulous Carlson asked Halperin if he was being serious.

“A hundred percent serious. A hundred percent serious,” the political prognosticator assured him. Then he returned to his litany. “I think there’ll be alcoholism, there’ll be broken marriage—“

“What?” interjected the host.

“Yeah. They think he’s the worst person possible to be president,” Halperin explained. “And, having won by the hand of Jim Comey and fluke in 2016, and then [Trump] performed in office for four years, and denied who won the election last time, and January 6 — the fact that, under a fair election, America chose, by the rules pre-agreed to, Donald Trump again, I think it will cause the biggest mental health crisis in the history of America.”

From there, the light-hearted banter delved into speculation about the potential for violence. “Yeah, I think there’ll be some violence,” Halperin confirmed. “I think there’ll be workplace fights. There’ll be fights at kids’ birthday parties. I think there’ll be protests that will turn violent. I hope they’re not, but I think there will be some.’

The seasoned analyst went on to plumb the nature of the imminent despair of the American left. “I think it will be less anger and more a failure to understand how it could happen. You know, like the death of a child, or your spouse announcing that she’s a lesbian and she’s leaving you for your best friend — like something that’s so traumatic that it is impossible for even the most mentally healthy person to truly process and incorporate into their daily life.”

The most mentally healthy Democrat, he should have specified. Republicans and patriots face political defeat and alienation from their own country on a regular basis without going bonkers.

SO—shitlib D卐M☭CRATs will flip out, go insane, and generally run amok if Trump “wins” the “election,” eh? And we’re supposed to distinguish this unusual, once in a lifetime event from any other day of the week ending in “Y”…HOW, exactly? Thorne concludes:

Should a Trump-Vance victory come to pass, remember to bring in the pets and children and lock the doors before you start popping champagne corks.

Fuck that noise—load extra mags, zero rifle sights, establish good fields of fire, make sure your perimeter is well-lighted instead, among other things.

Get up, stand up

As y’all know, I stopped with the Eyrie-promo posts here a long while back; in all that time, this makes only the second exception to that general rule to date. I truly feel that tonight’s topic is important enough, enheartening enough, inspiring enough, to implore CF Lifers who may not also be Eyrregulars to check it out. The usual paying-customer requirement for commenting has been waived as well, so you know I ain’t playing around here. Don’t miss this one, folks; it’ll restore your faith in humanity, put a smile on your face, a song in your heart, and a spring in your step. This story really is that good, I promise.

None better or more apt than the legendary Bob Marley to wind things up for us.

About damned time!

Trump says “Oh HELL no” to another three-on-one “debate” dumbshow.

TRUMP: Kamala and her group have seen what is happening to their campaign, and it’s not going well for them. And it was announced just a little while ago that they would like to do another debate.

(crowd groans)

Although good entertainment value…I’ve already done two: one with Crooked Joe Biden at CNN and the other one with Kamala on ABC.

CNN was very fair…And they were criticized by the radical-left lunatics for being fair. In other words, they won’t be fair again because they took a lot of abuse from the radical left.

ABC was three-on-one but I was given credit for doing a very good job…The problem with another debate is it’s just too late. Voting has already started.

She’s had her chance to do it with FOX, and they turned it down. But now she wants to do a debate with CNN right before the election because she’s losing badly.

And because she knows full well that CNN, contra what you just said, won’t be any more fair than any of the other Enemedia outlets will. The only way to beat the dirty blaggards is to refuse to play their rigged games at all.

Oh HELL yeah!

KILL. THEM. ALL.

Ya gotta love the guy. Well, unless you’re a scum-sucking Paleosimian terrorist who just had his nuts blowed off, that is. Or a shrieking ((((JooJooJooJOOOOOO!!!)))) hating shitlib.

Hit the road, Jack

It’s already been noted by Barry and Kenny in the comments, and happily, it appears to be the genuine article.

Normalcy advocate Robby Starbuck makes Harley-Davidson do a U-turn on woke policies
Conservative boycotts evidently work wonders.

Conservative filmmaker Robby Starbuck announced on X Monday that under threat of boycott and amidst a concerted pressure campaign, the 121-year-old motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson has scrapped various leftist initiatives.

“We did it again,” wrote Starbuck. “3 for 3. The left fears what I’m doing because it’s effective. The attacks will increase with the plan we have but we have a plan and it accounts for the arrows that will be fired at us. We won’t slow down for anyone.”

Blaze News previously reported that Starbuck and others blasted Tractor Supply, a company established in 1938, for mandating that its employees undergo “LGBTQIA+ training,” for funding sex-change mutilations through its health plan, and for sponsoring so-called family-friendly transvestite performances, as well as for other leftist initiatives.

The exposure was evidently too much to handle, as Tractor Supply announced on June 27 that it had taken the “feedback to heart” and would no longer volunteer data to the powerful LGBT activist group that calls itself the Human Rights Campaign; would ditch “DEI roles and retire [its] current DEI goals”; and would jettison its carbon emission goals.

When similarly targeted for liberation, John Deere similarly traded the LGBT colors back for the red, white, and blue, indicating it would “no longer participate in or support external social or cultural awareness parades, festivals, or events” and would be taking additional steps to shore up customer trust.

Last month, Starbuck launched his latest campaign: a boycott of Harley-Davidson, a once-beloved motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1903.

In a series of social media posts and videos, he provided fuel for a Bud Light-style boycott, alleging that the company:

  • supports legislation that would enable men to enter “girl’s bathrooms, sports and locker-rooms”;
  • required thousands of employees to undertake training on “how to become LGBTQ+ allies”;
  • was a founding member of Wisconsin’s LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce — a group that opposed a law that would have saved children from sex-change mutilations;
  • celebrated two additional “Months of Inclusion” beside so-called Pride Month;
  • worked on having “less White suppliers, dealers and employees”;
  • partnered yearly with “Pride Ride”; and
  • partnered with the Human Rights Campaign on non-straight activism, ultimately securing a 90/100 rating on the HRC’s CEI index.

Starbuck also highlighted some statements made and actions taken by the company’s German-born CEO, Jochen Zeitz, that might prickle customers, including:

  • his boast that his corporate activism had at least one peer calling him the “sustainable Taliban”;
  • signing of a joint letter to the COP28 presidency demanding an end to fossil fuels;
  • criticism of President Donald Trump for leaving the Paris Agreement;
  • committal of Harley-Davidson to the UN Global Compact; and
  • advocacy for DEI.

“I don’t think the values at corporate reflect the values of nearly any Harley Davidson bikers,” wrote Starbuck. “Do Harley riders want the money they spend at Harley to be used later by corporate to push an ideology that’s diametrically opposed to their own values?”

Whatever pressure Americans helped apply in concert with the conservative filmmaker appears to have been enough.

At noon on Monday, Harley-Davidson stated on X, “We are saddened by the negativity on social media over the last few weeks, designed to divide the Harley-Davidson community. As a Company, we take this issue very seriously, and it is our responsibility to respond with clarity, action and facts.”

Harley-Davidson claimed that pursuant to an internal stakeholder review initiated earlier this year, the company has kicked its supplier diversity spend goals to the curb and does not have hiring quotas. It noted further that its “DEI function” has been dead since April 2024 and the company does “not have a DEI function today.”

More yet at the link, all of it heady, enheartening stuff. Sincerest kudos and a hearty Yo Ho Ho for swashbuckling “Normalcy Advocate” Robbie Starbuck, who says he very much digs his new title, as well he might. I know plenty of CF Lifers don’t much care one way or the other about Harley-Davidson, which is their good right. Ultimately, though, the Motor Company being hauled off into Wokester oblivion would have been another resounding victory for the Goosesteppin’ Left—something we can ill-afford more of, greasy, grubby bikers and cage-driving squarejohns alike. So good on ya, Mr Starbuck sir, keep up the fine work.

WELL. Well, well, well, well, well, well, WELL!

RFK Jr. considering dropping out to ‘join forces’ with Trump, Nicole Shanahan says
Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is considering dropping out of the 2024 race to “join forces” with former President Donald Trump, his running mate revealed Tuesday.

“There’s two options that we’re looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and [Tim] Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump,” Nicole Shanahan, the independent candidate’s vice presidential pick, said during an appearance on the “Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu” podcast.

The other option?

“We walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump…and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision,” Shanahan said.

“Not an easy decision,” the 38-year-old independent VP candidate added.

Shanahan indicated that she would be more comfortable with Trump and his vice presidential pick, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), running the country than with Harris and Walz.

Trump, 78, reportedly met with Kennedy in Milwaukee last month, on the first day of the Republican National Convention, in an effort to gain his endorsement.

During those talks, the two men discussed the possibility that Trump could give Kennedy a cabinet or lower-level position in his administration, the Washington Post reported.

What the hell, why not. Now admittedly, RFKJr is something of a flake, particularly as regards the phonus-balonus Climate Change (formerly Global Warming, formerly Global Cooling, formerly The Weather)™ scam. That said, though, he’s the only D卐M☭CRAT currently extant who even comes close to making any sense at all, on most any other policy, political/ideological principle, or topic you’d care to name. I wouldn’t at all mind seeing him “join forces” with Team Trump, if only for the delightful paroxysms of hysteria, heartburn, and angst such a nose-tweaking would bring about for shitlibs.

Oh, and my post title? It’s from a moldy-goldie-oldie you greybeards will surely recall.

What can one say but: Heh. Indeed.

To Civil War, or NOT to Civil War?

On Amerika v2.0’s self-evidently fraudulent “elections.”

Of course the propagandists gaslit everyone – election fraud was a conspiracy theory, it was the most secure election in history, and so on and so forth. That this was the precise opposite of what they’d been saying for the previous four years – that Russia had hacked Our Democracy – was neither here nor there. Later Time Magazine bragged that they had ‘fortified’ the election, which everyone understood to as an admission that they’d stolen it.

Election fraud in America utilizes a variety of tactics: ballot stuffing, ballot harvesting from senile seniors, registering illegal immigrants and other non-citizens to vote (which, as everyone knows, is why the regime is so hostile to voting ID laws), electronically forged ballots, and forged mail-in ballots. Definitive evidence of any one form of electoral fraud is extremely difficult to obtain, requiring painstaking forensic work. Even when such evidence is found, it will only pertain to one form of fraud, in one or a few locations. This enables regime respecters to claim that fraud is rare, and does not occur on a large enough scale to swing elections. Somehow they never say that any cheating at all is unacceptable. Funny that.

Not everyone fell for the fraud, of course. Outraged rallies began to spontaneously rise up across the country, ultimately converging on DC for the doomed J6 ‘insurrection’.

It didn’t matter.

The propagandists called Trump’s supporters terrorists. Those who entered the Capitol were arrested, imprisoned, subjected to various forms of psychological torture.

The regime stole the election in broad daylight, grinned with its hands in the cookie jar, looked the country right in the eyes with crumbs dribbling down its wobbling chins, grinned “What cookie?”, and dared anyone to call it on their blatant lies.

The regime got away with it.

It is obvious that they are doing the same thing again. It worked the first time, so why would they not? The Biden administration proved that you don’t need a charismatic candidate, or even a minimally competent one. All you need is a warm body that can be wheeled in front of the cameras every now and then. The compliance of the propaganda organs renders any embarrassing behaviour from the warm body wholly irrelevant. Enough of the population is so thoroughly brainwashed, so completely incapable of evaluating reality, so utterly prostrated before propaganda, that they will believe whatever they are told to believe and they will do so with the whole of their hollowed-out hearts. Not everyone, to be sure … but enough. Particularly as those most completely captured are the Single Woke Females, the professional-managerial class aparat-chicks that infest the institutions.

In the confusing months between November 2020 and J6, there was rampant speculation Trump would take some sort of bold action – a military coup d’etat, or even a Civil War. There’s no question that if he’d given the word his supporters would have turned out in their millions. Everyone sensed that it was go time, and they were ready to go. In the end, after some half-hearted lawsuits and a few rallies, the big man lost his nerve. Go home, he told his supporters. Go in peace. It’s over.

He may well have been right to do so. The Biden presidency was disastrous for America. The economy has fallen apart; inflation has wiped people out; the leaking border has shattered, letting in tens of millions, many criminals, many very possibly much worse than criminals; America has found itself embroiled in wars all over the world, which threaten to turn nuclear. The last four years have been an almost unprecedented national humiliation. Biden is, without a shadow of a doubt, the worst president America has ever had.

But was the Biden presidency worse than a Civil War?

Think about that.

And that really is the question, isn’t it? In effect, it amounts to the same quandary I’ve been struggling with here for a very long time now—or it FEELS like a very long time, at any rate. To wit: Is it better to fight back against metastasizing Überstadt tyranny to the last drop of Patriot blood, or to maintain the illusion of notional “peace” and tacitly accept defeat? In the end, I think, the hard nut of our dilemna comes down to this:

And there you have it. The rest is just applesauce.

Update! Having linked/excerpted him a cpl-three times now, the time has come to grant the planet-hopping Jeddak of Helium John Carter his rightful place of honor in Ye Aulde CF Blogrolle, methinks. Done, done, and done.

Updated update! And with the addition of the Warlord of Mars to our CF blogroll section, it occurs to me that a thorough scouring/refreshing/reshuffling of said section to update changed URLs, delete abandoned or extinct blogs, and put in new (if only to me) blogs/sites/portals—a tedious albeit essential routine-maintenance chore I dread like an ass-whuppin’, thus encouraging my lifelong habit of procrastination*—is way overdue. *le sigh*

* Did somebody say “lifelong” just now? I originally learned the word “procrastination” when my first-grade teacher wrote it on my very first report card, cautioning my parents to be on the lookout for my seemingly-innate inclination to it. I repeat: *le sigh*

Elon for Mt Rushmore!

If anybody’s earned the next new spot, I’d say he has.

How Much Is Elon Musk Willing to Lose to Protect Free Speech?
Elon Musk is clearly a different breed of cat, but not enough people appreciate how utterly preposterous his life actually is. He’s not just marching to the beat of a different drummer; he’s breakdancing to the beat of his own turntable.

Imagine Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg moonlighting as the CEO of General Motors, while also running Boeing. Impossible, right? It’s beyond mindboggling! But via running Twitter (X), Tesla, and SpaceX — multibillion-dollar corporate conglomerates each — that’s essentially what Musk is doing. (And when he wasn’t doing that, a few years earlier he cofounded OpenAI, the world’s most influential artificial intelligence company.)

If Elon Musk didn’t exist and a writer invented him for a screenplay, the audience would reject it: Too farfetched. Would never happen in real life.

And by the way, among the (many) things I’ve overlooked — i.e. developing Neuralink, launching global Internet access with Starlink, revolutionizing digital sales with X.com/PayPal, the Boring Company — each would easily qualify as a career-defining magnum opus for anyone else. But with Musk, they’re kind of superfluous.

When you’re the man who invented today’s electrical car industry AND privatized space travel, it makes the impossible look mundane.

But his riskiest business endeavor is the one he’s taking now: Elon Musk, champion of free speech.

Risking billions to protect an audience that isn’t his.

It wasn’t always like this: Until relatively recently, Musk was beloved by the left. He guest-starred on “The Simpsons” (collaborating with Homer), he mingled with Tony Stark in “Iron Man 2,” and he was the Patron Saint of environmentalists everywhere.

Then he started talking about social issues and tweeting about politics. Shortly thereafter, he bought Twitter for $44 billion.

Before Musk bought Twitter, 47 percent of Democrats believed Twitter was good for American democracy. Afterwards, that number dropped to 24 percent. (Wonder why?) The number of Democrats who complained about Twitter containing inaccurate or misleading information jumped from 54 percent to 68 percent. Whereas just 29 percent of Republicans said harassment and abuse was a “major problem” on Twitter, a whopping 65 percent of Democrats now disagree with them.

New polling hasn’t been recorded since Musk endorsed Donald Trump and hosted a “conversation” with him on Twitter, but it’s safe to assume that it probably didn’t increase his fandom on the left.

In all probability, his numbers have plunged significantly further. I’m talking subterranean.

At first blush, Musk seems to be an odd candidate for the Democrats’ vitriol: In addition to his environmental bona fides, he’s never once claimed to be a conservative! He describes himself as “politically moderate,” and he voted for Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012, Hillary Clinton in 2016, and Joe Biden in 2020. That’s not exactly Pat Buchanan 2: The Electric Boogaloo.

But right now, Elon Musk is up there with Donald Trump, Tucker Carlson, and Jordan Peterson: They’re the current Mount Rushmore of Men who Terrify the Crap Out of (the ) Left.

Yet these are the same people that Musk needs to buy electric cars.

It’s easy to be jaded and cynical. We’re so used to being disappointed by our heroes, cynicism has almost become our default-setting. But what Elon Musk is doing today is truly the most astonishing “Profiles in Courage” in American business history: The world’s richest man is jeopardizing the source of his wealth to protect the free speech of an audience that despises him.

It used to be known colloquially as “putting your money where your mouth is,” although it’s vanishingly rare to see it put into practice nowadays. Which just makes Elon’s rock-ribbed free speech absolutism all the more admirable, if you ask me.

Are we not entertained?

A bit alarming at first blush, perhaps, but don’t let’s anybody rush to judgment quite yet; there just might be an extenuating circumstance here, or a method to the seeming madness at any rate.

Gamechanger: Is a Trump-RFK Jr. Alliance in the Works?
The 2024 presidential election has shown us one thing: expect the unexpected. Few anticipated Joe Biden would pursue a second term, but he did. Many doubted he’d debate Donald Trump, yet he took the stage — and was a total disaster. In another unprecedented move, Biden succumbed to pressure and blackmail and dropped out of the race mere days ago.

This is certainly not the year to be making predictions because so far, it has been the most unconventional election ever.

A new report from ABC News suggests another potential twist in the 2024 presidential election: an alliance between Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

According to multiple sources who spoke with ABC News, Trump and Kennedy have had several discussions over the past few days, including an in-person meeting in Milwaukee during the Republican National Convention. During these talks, the two presidential candidates reportedly discussed potential roles for Kennedy in a future Trump administration.

Two sources familiar with the discussions say that Kennedy could potentially be offered the opportunity to oversee the Health and Human Services Department in a second Trump administration.

HHS, eh? Aiight then, just keep the guy away from the EPA and I’m good with it, I do believe.

The man, the moment, the legend

An inspirational message from President Donald John Trump.

May God forever bless and keep you, sir.

And so, thanks entirely to the vile, vicious Left’s arrogance; their reckless, incandescent hatred; their fathomless self-regard; and their unquenchable lust for absolute power and control…well, here we all are at last, forced all unwilling into the dreadful corner none of us ever wished to find ourselves in, nor dreamed we ever would.

Fittingly enough for historical illiterates such as they, once again it’s just as ADM Yamamoto memorably, sorrowfully, and presciently esteemed in a bygone era the ineducable Left knows not of: all they have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve. If any of y’all rowdies and/or rapscallions want to think of it as, say, Hirohito’s Folly Redux, I’ll cheerfully put a “yeppers” to it.

Remember “all we wanted was to be left alone”? Well, they flatly refused to honor that most humble of requests, though they easily might have with no inconvenience or loss to themselves of any conceivable sort. Alas and alack, that’s all over and done with now; to the incalculable cost of one and all, that good ship and true has officially sailed, with the vain fantasy of “peaceful coexistence” aboard her. May they be made to regret this fateful miscalculation—profoundly, agonizingly, and without surcease—for however long they have left to live.

The one and only

At long, long last, a candidate I can get behind with all my heart, soul, mind, spirit, and body, to my last ounce of strength.

Sometimes the right person emerges. When we needed a person to see us through the War for Independence and to serve as this new nation’s first president, Washington emerged. When Britain found itself fighting for its life against Nazi Germany, Churchill emerged. When our country was tearing itself apart over the slavery question, Lincoln emerged.

And now, in our troubled times, David ‘Iowahawk’ Burge has emerged.

Man, has he ever. And how.

The above infuriatingly-truncated “Read more” passage ends thusly: “…leave office after four years.” Which is of course a baldfaced lie, or so we must hope; President-for-Life the Right Hon Mr David NMI Burge would be totally jake with me, I gots no objection, although YMMV. If so, please keep it on the down-low, I really don’t wanna know. It would pain me no end to see any of my beloved CF Lifers permanently beclown himself by publicly confessing to such disgraceful Wrongthink as that.

At any rate, the laff-train keeps a-rolling all night long from there:

Lots, lots more after that one, every last syllable likewise meeting or surpassing the impossibly-high IowahawkCorp© standards for Beverage-Spewing Hilarity, Aggravated GutBustery w/HowlinglyFunny cluster, and/or RightdafuckON, Muhfuhgr! we’ve all come to expect from that crazy-ass fool.

FULL DISCLOSURE OF UNACCEPTABLE JOURNALISMIC BIAS: I’ve been good buds with the legendary David Burge (FACT CHECK: NOT his real name, nor is “Iowahawk,” astonishingly enough) for quite a few years, although over the last several we’ve fallen out of touch, to my boundless regret and ensorrowment.

Dave, if you happen across this, my phone # has changed since we last talked, so do please kite me one of them newfangled electronic-mail thingamabobbers instead (mike-at-cf-dot-etc) when you get a spare minute, wouldja? I realize you’re a busy, busy beaver and all, but I’d truly admire to hear from ya, old friend, it’s been way too long. Hope this missive finds you still fightin’ fit, happy as some clams, and generally doing well—seeing’s how “doing good” sorta cuts against your usual warp and woof and so would feel pretty dang weird, probably for both of us.

Best wishes for fair winds and following seas on your write-in White House run; we could certainly do worse for a Prez-mo-dent, MUCH worse, and likely will. Gaia knows we have, more than just once, twice, or thrice at that.

And to think, the Beltway (Butt)Bandits consider Trump an outsider.

T’would serve those never-to-be-sufficiently-damned Swamp-rats right, sayeth moi.
