Amerikan Gulag

A few years back, I coined a term: the USSSA, the United Soviet Socialist States of Amerika. Cynical as I thought I was being, though, I can see now that I had no idea.

America is changing in bewildering ways since Donald Trump left office. For the first time in our nation’s history, the president of the United States, out in the open and for all to see, is a demented, senile figurehead. With the support of a media class, ostensibly charged with keeping him in check but instead behaving like the old Soviet Pravda, Biden is able to cover up his otherwise obvious physical, mental, and moral infirmities.

Unlike Trump, who rose to power with a popular movement, Biden succeeded through his handlers’ trickery and guile. His campaign was the most cynical in American history. He spent much of his time taking naps and hiding from the public. But he was shielded by propaganda and the support of a corrupt ruling class every step of the way.

Biden’s fake campaign is now succeeded by a fake presidency. If it appears he is governing with malice and neglect, that’s by design.

Anyone who has spent some time listening to Biden’s platitudes over the last year could have predicted the content of his awful and deeply dishonest speech. While calling for “unity” and healing, Biden declared that democracy had “prevailed” with the victory of his party. But much work remains to be done, as America is under attack by “political extremism” and “white supremacy” that festers in the hearts and minds of untold numbers of citizens.

Who are these kulaks standing in the way of the promised land? The Washington Post warns of a “disease that seems to have taken hold in the nation’s nervous system.” John Brennan gives a clearer view of this “insurgency” that needs to be isolated and destroyed, which includes “religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians.”

Understand, this new threat of “domestic extremism” is exclusively a phenomenon of the Right. Nothing the Left ever does can be considered extreme, as all decent people know, after a summer of “mostly peaceful” anarchy and arson.

Well, naturally. Daniel Greenfield can explain that.

The difference between resistance and sedition, between protests and insurrections, is who’s in charge. Democrats resist Republican elected officials. Republicans however commit sedition against Democrat elected officials. Democrats protest, Republicans riot. These aren’t distinctions in law. The only real distinction is who’s in power and who’s on the barricades.

Political hypocrisy isn’t a new phenomenon, but Democrats weaponizing the national security state to suppress the political opposition over the same behavior they engage in is a serious threat to the survival of the United States as anything other than a banana republic in a civil war.

Democrats repeatedly claimed that the Bush Administration’s campaign against terrorists was punishing political dissent, but despite these false claims, Bush’s counter-terrorism never even came close to eavesdropping on, investigating, or shutting down the political opposition.

That didn’t stop Democrats from repeatedly invoking the Gestapo and the Stasi when attacking the Patriot Act, Ashcroft, and Gonzalez. It also didn’t stop them from abusing the Patriot Act and the national security system built to fight Communists and Islamic terrorists to target members of Congress and the political opposition including President Trump and his associates.

Democrats and the media quickly got back to comparing President Trump to Hitler and accusing him of fascism, yet his administration never did to Biden what Obama had done to Trump. The Trump administration didn’t eavesdrop on Biden associates under the guise of national security. The damaging material about Hunter Biden and his father’s ties to China came out of a laptop shop in Vermont, not from the synthesis of political operatives and national security personnel which had exploited the Steele Dossier’s false claims about Trump and Russian prostitutes.

The Republican governing class has failed to come to terms with the reality that its Democrat counterparts operate by a very different definition of law and government than they do. The Democrats don’t simply disregard the Constitution, as they have ever since Woodrow Wilson, but they regard their own power as legitimate and the power of Republicans as illegitimate.

Republicans take a legal or philosophical perspective on everything while Democrats have an expedient activist take on it. Republicans turn to the law or tradition, while Democrats decide whether the Filibuster, the Electoral College, the institution of marriage, the existence of white people, and the biological reality of women serves their purposes or ought to be eliminated.

When Republicans failed to carry out a meaningful reckoning of Obama’s national security abuses they didn’t just allow an injustice to go unpunished, but they ensured a much worse repetition by emboldened Democrats who committed the worst political abuse of the national security system that had been possible until then and got away with it. That’s the next step.

The Biden administration is moving to criminalize the political opposition, to investigate and dismantle it using all of the tools at its disposal. That is the only thing Republicans can expect. It’s exactly what they should have been expecting all along. Obama’s abuses of the national security state were not an outlier. They are the new normal. And they’re only going to get worse.

That they will. But will we have gulags too? I mean, how can we say we’ve been Sovietized with a straight face unless we have gulags?

Fret ye not.

In contemporary America, where the walls are closing in on the individual—obliterating traditional notions of freedom—we find ourselves crossing the threshold into an American-style gulag, where the fortifications that have shored up a centuries-long quest for a more perfect union, are beginning to buckle.

Although the constriction of our liberties on the road to socialism accelerated at warp speed with COVID, the George Floyd riots, and now the election of Biden-Harris, it didn’t happen overnight. America’s political journey has been riddled with progressive inroads: Wilson’s expansion of the administrative state, Roosevelt’s New Deal, LBJ’s Great Society, ObamaCare, onerous taxes and regulations, judicial activism, and Democrat legislation increasing the power of the federal government.

With Biden’s election and a Democrat-controlled Senate, the malignant “Woke-Cancel Culture” has fully metastasized into our body politic. Talk of purges and persecution are commonplace. Journalists, politicians, activists and rank-and-file Democrats demand the country be cleansed of all things Trump. Those who served in his administration or supported him must be blacklisted from future employment. The children of Trump voters must be deprogrammed. Conservatives must be put in re-education camps and deradicalized. Wannabees of Pavlik Morozov, the child hero who betrayed his family to Soviet authorities, scan social media for anti-woke transgressions to use against family, neighbor, and classmate.

There are uncomfortable echoes here of a “Final Solution” to the “Trump Question.” That these sentiments are brazenly expressed without blowback or regard for their meaning or history, is a testament to our one-sided First Amendment and the unbridled fervor that can lead history to repeat itself. We cannot turn a blind eye to these harsh realities.

From Biden-Harris to BLM’s Patrisse Cullors; from Pelosi to Fauci; from leftwing journalists to radical teachers; from those running our unions to those running our government; from corporations bullied into submission to the multitudes forced to kowtow; from rioting mobs to the brainwashed Pavlik Morozovs—deprogrammed by the State to reject their upbringings; re-programmed to hate Trump, whitey, and their families; and newly programmed to be loyal foot soldiers of the State–

These are our wardens. Welcome to the American Gulag.

Where you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.

Things are tough all over, kid

Hoft got a letter from a reader in Ireland. I’ll interject myself here and there in this post, not out of orneriness cruelty or anything, but to try to explain a aspects that seem to have eluded him.

Hate to say it, Mr. Hoft – You fought the good fight, and alas it did not go your way. I like you was hoping for a Trump administration no matter how imperfect at the very least it would have preserved many core values dear to us all. Sad to say it appears the spawn of hell has now taken over not only congress but the White House too. My heart is saddened for the decent American people that desire to make your country great again, God knows the entire world needs a strong and honorable America but sad to relate what has happened in your country has made you and the democratic idea the laughing stock of the world; what a loss to mankind. Satan is now loose on the world like never before aided and abetted by Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Cuomo, Schiff, and many RINOs, assisted by their supportive cohorts within the mass media and big tech.

Minor quibble: the “spawn of hell” didn’t take over Congress and the WH. The WH they took back; Congress, they never really lost at all.

These people have no shame, no sense of decency, no honor, and no loyalty to your Constitution and Bill Of Rights.

You expect too much of the hellspawn, I’m afraid, although your other assessment of their “character” is certainly on point. After all, how can one feel loyalty to a Constitution one actively loathes, and wishes to see destroyed?

I live in Ireland, I’m a patriotic Irishman, I believe in God and try to live my life according to God’s Will but it’s getting harder with the passing of each day.

Not an accident, not a coincidence, not happenstance. Part of a plan.

All my life I never felt hate or malice towards any man but now as I look around me and observe what is going on in our world particularly in America I am hard-pushed to contain those malignant emotions.

Be not ashamed, laddie-buck. When men have repeatedly shown themselves to be profoundly, pridefully evil, it is no less than the solemn duty of any decent, honorable human being to feel hatred and malice towards them. Any leavening of the appropriate utter revulsion for such besmirches one’s own soul.

It seems also that our religious leaders and churches have deserted us all, when we need them most they are silent in the face of this pervasive evil.

Again, it’s far worse than you think. Too many of them are actively in league with it.

We need a wake-up call in Ireland also, American big tech rules the roost over here and our weak-kneed politicians are forever kowtowing to their whims and demands.

They aren’t weak-kneed, and I do badly wish otherwise right-thinking people on both your side of the pond and our own would stop saying it. Thinking of them as “cowards” or “gutless” boobs trapped in a repetitious pattern of “failure” ascribable to a personal flaw—rather than the fully-conscious acts of treachery and collusion they really are—provides an excuse for the deceitful scoundrels that is far more charitable than they deserve. They are co-conspirators, colleagues, and clients. Or maybe “employees” might be more apt. But “weak-kneed”? “Cowards”? The brazen audacity of their corrupt skullduggery puts paid to that silly notion all by its lonesome.

The liberties and freedoms that our forefathers died for are now erased and sadly forgotten, we as a people need to raise our voices once again. For example, Google interfered openly and without any objections been raised by our politicians with our referenda on Gay Marriage and Abortion. What we treasured most as a nation – family and the sanctity of human life have now been consigned to the dustbin of time.

Not accident, not coincidence, not happenstance. Part. Of. A. PLAN.

The European Courts decreed that Apple Computers owed the Irish Exchequer over 14 Billion euros in unpaid taxes and what did our government do it contested the court’s ruling for and on behalf of Apple, what power do they have over us ????, I could cite crazy examples like this all day long but I’ll refrain from doing so lest my head explodes. FaceBook another criminal organization along with Twitter, and a host of the other world’s biggest big tech companies alongside banking and investment groups are all headquartered in Dublin, not for the benefit of the Irish Economy but for their own benefit as each and every one of them has sweetheart deals regarding tax with the Irish Exchequer. Sometimes I wonder is Dublin one of the biggest criminal enterprises in the world, controlled and run by the American Chamber of Commerce situated in Dublin.

One of the biggest? Oh, absolutely not. Whether we’re talking land mass or population, the Emerald Isle has a lot of very stiff competition in the criminal-government department, several of which kleptocracies are much, MUCH bigger.

I digress, my apologies, it was not my intention to burden you with the problems in my country but you must realize that what happens in America always directly impacts my country.

That’s the bright side, see: as FUSA’s collapse hastens and deepens at the greedy hands of its own feckless, clueless rulers, its influence and importance will similarly diminish. Eventually, Amerika V2.0 will be about as relevant globally as any other Third World banana republic. Its desperate floundering and flapping about will be of no use; eventually, the raging seas of Matters Too Big For It will drag the once-mighty nation under, and it will die the death.

That is why I’m saddened by the outcome of what clearly is a stolen election, a country with a fraudulent President whose name I will not mention because it sickens me to do so has lost a magnificent opportunity to set a lot of things right not just for you but for us also.

We can’t really be said to have “lost” the opportunity; actually, we spurned it, we discarded it. To our eternal discredit, alas, and to our great cost as well. Now the country that passively sat back and allowed the thieves to get away with their crime scot-free will get exactly what it deserves—no more, no less.

Bracken: “There are no guardrails on the Left”

Might I suggest a more practical means of corraling the bastards, then? Something more along the lines of, say, a very tall fence? Or, better yet, how about a multi-layered approach, beginning with a Big Beautiful Wall? Guard towers with sharpshooters, armed guards walking the perimeter 24-7, natch, all with a weapons-free directive in effect. Next, a moat—well-stocked with hungry alligators, natch. A minefield enclosing that, the whole shebang topped off with a literal Wall Of Fire, perpetually stoked. Call it the Bonfire of Liberty, an eternal flame safeguarding our freedom by physically reducing all verminous-Left threats to so much crackling ash.

America is entering a terrible period in its history at an accelerating pace, now that the Left has taken control of all the critical reins of power in the government, the mainstream media, social media, and big tech. Unfortunately, history teaches with laser clarity that there are no guardrails restraining the behavior of the Left when it is so empowered.

Normative legacy Judeo-Christian values usually provide self correction against outrageous excesses from the Right. Even when conservatives have the power, they restrain themselves from, for example, committing full-on genocide. An example of this is seen in the late 19th Century, when it was completely within the power of the American government to implement a “final solution to the Red Indian problem,” but the government and the American people, then grounded in Judeo-Christian values, did not do so. (This is not to excuse the execrable and destructive Indian reservation system, but it was not genocide.) Likewise, America could have utterly destroyed Germany and Japan after 1945, but we did not do so. The harshly punitive Morgenthau Plan proposed by FDR’s socialist Secretary of the Treasury for post-war Germany came close in its intention, but it was not implemented.

By comparison, the secular atheist (and now frankly insane) American Left has no self-correction mechanism. (Examples of contemporary Leftist insanity: transsexuals welcomed into the military, biological boys ordered onto girls sports teams and in girls locker rooms, etc.) This Leftist insanity is anything but unprecedented. From the French Revolution, to the Paris Commune, the Bolshevik Revolution and through all the horrors of 20th Century Communism, the Left has proven that when it is unchecked, it will drive at full speed straight off the cliff of civilized norms of behavior into totalitarian systems of guillotines, Gulags, forced starvations, and killing fields.

This is an old, played-out movie we’ve seen far too many times. We already know how it ends.

Pretend pResident Biden’s “inauguration” speech: a review

The greatest orator since…Ogabe?

While he was delivering his address, I was so focused on the question of the day—would he get through it without zoning out?—that I barely noticed how vapid and mendacious the speech itself was.

But it was both of those things, in spades—vapid and mendacious.

It was ironic to find oneself listening to such a piece of drivel after four years during which the media told us, repeatedly, that Donald Trump spoke at the level of a middle schooler—and spoke too roughly and bluntly, in a style that was scandalously “unpresidential.”

After the speech, Biden and Harris drove out to Arlington National Cemetery. Why wait till the last minute? I wondered whether she was bringing along a shovel.

But back to the speech. Reportedly composed in part by Jon Meacham, that slick operator, it was delivered by a wraithlike figure who may or may not have been fully aware of what he was saying as he read the words off his teleprompter. All in all, a dispiriting and rather creepy experience. But the media, after four years of depicting Trump as a semi-literate Satan, felt obliged to celebrate Biden as a silver-tongued saint.

Chris Wallace of Fox News called it “the best inaugural address I ever heard.” George Stephanopoulos of ABC said it was “powerful.” On CNN, Van Jones proclaimed that “there was not one part of that that wasn’t just medicine in the wound…Joe Biden is going to train us to see the world differently.”

Ridiculous, all of it, needless to say, although that last bit from Jones brushed up against a certain unsettling truth. First, note that Jones’ vision was right out of scripture: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth” (Revelations 21:1). And don’t forget St. Paul: “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known” (1 Corinthians 13:12). All of which fits neatly into the new practice of treating Biden as quasi-divine.

No, Biden can’t train us to see the world anew. But with enough power, he and his party, which now controls both houses of Congress, may well be able to compel a great many of us to pretend, at least, out of a sense of self-preservation, to see the world through a new set of eyes—in short, to parrot obediently the brave new gospel of critical race theory, white supremacy, gender fluidity, and so on. Lies, all of them, but refuse to subscribe to them and you’ll risk being branded an enemy of the truth.

The addle-pated Rapist In Thief won’t be “training” me to do a goddamned thing, neither jack nor shit, no matter how unctuously he urges his Brave New World on me. He is not my President, and his “America” is not my country. They can both burn in Hell for a thousand years for all me, and their miscellaneous and sundry brigades of orcs right along with ’em.

Eyes on

So this happened.

That’s our esteemed colleaugue Wes over at NC Renegade, enjoying an unscheduled and unsolicited visit from The Man. If you scroll down through the comments, you’ll see that he is hardly alone in that distinction. To his great credit, Wes seems to have conducted himself quite admirably, handling a seriously dangerous situation with backbone and finesse. Good on ‘im for that.

But with that in mind, and having for years seen all kinds of dot-gov IP’s in the CF server logs back when I used to check ’em, I feel it’s high time for me to rethink a few things, maybe do a little attitude-adjusting. Yep, starting now it’s a brand new day and a brand new way, so y’all are gonna be seeing some changes around this hogwallow, people, starting in 3…2…1…

Probably the last time I’ll be trotting out this deathless tune, more relevant now than it ever was before.

The play’s the thing

Come Wednesday, the curtain rises on the staging of a new shitshow from Banana Republic Productions™.

A legitimate President would not need to be sworn in under the protection of 25,000 armed soldiers. This is how elections work in Venezuela. No, the Democrats are putting on a show of power, get that, power. They are projecting this to happen if you choose to protest the Biden presidency and the Congress.

Reports are being released that 25,000 troops have been called up to “protect” the presidential inauguration of Joe Biden. Think about it in these terms; these 25,000 troops were never called out during the summer and fall by Democratic mayors and governors in New York City, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Minneapolis, etc., to prevent rioting, murder, looting, and brigandry. No troops to help law enforcement restore order, protect property, or citizens’ rights.

Amerikans aren’t citizens, and they have no rights. Their rulers want to make sure they all know that, and will abide by it without resistance.

You’ve got to wonder if the National Guardsmen are torn on being there to defend the very people who defunded the police and basically could care less about anybody but themselves. Trump and his supporters support the National Guardsmen and the police. It’s amazing how the politicians don’t believe the average person needs protection, but they need 25,000 of our nation’s best resources.

The bottom line here is that this optics view of military strength shows we have a government that wants to control by fear. They clearly know nobody will try anything with 25k troops, but it’s the visual of dominance they want to project. Crack the whip! Reminds me of the communist-controlled countries in our world history. The big picture here, though, is they fail to see their involvement in this mess, nor do they care.

Hardly. They know EXACTLY what they’re doing. The play they’re staging isn’t a new one, and like all good actors they know the script by heart.

The Great Unwashed Unheard

Shout it out loud.

When the Black Lives Matter riots raged in cities around the country a spectrum of the leftist oligarchy, from the New York Times to the ACLU to the leadership of Washington State University justified them with Martin Luther King’s quote, “A riot is the language of the unheard.”

It was a strange claim to make about a movement that had the backing of the Democrat Party, the entire media, Coca Cola, IBM, and American Express. There was hardly a Fortune 500 company, university, or major organization of some sort that didn’t issue a statement of support for the race rioters rioting, looting, and killing their way across America.

A riot is not the language of the unheard. Most often it’s the language of extremists, radicals, and agent provocateurs. The real language of the unheard is frustration, mistrust, and despair. The job of the former is to covertly ally with a totalitarian regime to radicalize the unheard, polarizing society, and leading to a murderous confrontation that will affirm the establishment.

The Trump administration was a threat because it gave voice to the unheard and the inherent scam of a political system that claims to be representative, but only represents itself. Treating its overthrow as a liberation movement funded by some of the biggest and most powerful figures, organizations, and interests in the country, gets at the heart of the leftist political hoax.

It was far from perfect, but it frightened enough of the right people that it had to be destroyed.

There are two classes of riots. Those riots funded, encouraged, and deployed by the operatives of the establishment to demand “change” are protected and legitimized. Opposition riots are allowed to go far enough to cause a crisis and justify a ruthless crackdown, not on the agent provocateurs behind them, but on the non-violent political opposition to the establishment.

The more violence the establishment encourages from the ranks of the unheard, or most often, the provocateurs pretending to represent them, the more it can suppress the opposition. Its depiction of the unheard as violent and dangerous, irrational and a threat to society, allows it to wield unchecked power and further marginalize the unheard while feeding the cycle of violence.

The last generation has seen two political revolutions by the unheard, the Tea Party, and the Trump campaign, that were brought down from without and within. The establishment understands the threat of the revolutions that it dismissively labels as ‘populism’ because despite its constant posturing about values and the oppressed, it is wholly illegitimate.

America was never meant to be ruled by a single cultural class operating out of D.C., New York, San Francisco, and a handful of other cities and suburbs for its own benefit. No amount of black nationalist cosplay or advocacy for infinite genders can hide the illegitimacy of this system from anyone except the junior members of the establishment blinded by university indoctrination.

The establishment would like to talk about anything and everything except its own power. Everything in our politics is a basic distraction from that question. A populist conservative movement that can convincingly stay on that question and hammer it home will win.

And then the unheard might finally have a voice.

Which explains the current mad scramble of the Great Purge: the Enemy hopes to secure the Unheard’s silence, via a good, hard jackboot to the larynx.

Livin’ on Tehran time

Welcome to the New Iran.

“But the president of Iran gets to keep his Twitter account, and that’s not fair,” seems to be their thematic response.

Yes. That’s exactly right. Donald Trump does not get to have a Twitter account, but the president of Iran, and any other authoritarian hellhole dictator you can list, does. But it is time to stop scribing about the hypocrisy of the technocrats and the media and the radical Left, yelling, “See, look how hypocritical they are!” They are perfectly comfortable with their own hypocrisy. They only care about power.

It is also time to face a harsh reality: today’s American regime has far more in common with the Iranian regime than we’d like to think, and Americans are more like subjects of totalitarian tyrants than citizens who have consented to being governed.

You have lived in Iran for a long time now, but nobody has been willing to tell you that. So, good morning! It’s another beautiful day here!

You could be forgiven for thinking the author is being more than a little tongue-in-cheek about this New Iran thesis of his, but he’s dead on target if you ask me. Further backup for it:

The words “President Trump” would never have entered the history books if not for the Left and its relentless, pathological hatred of anyone to the right of center. If America is heading towards civil strife, it is because the Left—with the complicity of an opportunistic establishment—has slowly but surely nudged half the country into a corner.

The Left has categorized millions of ordinary people who just want decent, honorable lives as “far-right extremists” and “conspiracy theorists” who deserve to be silenced, fired from their jobs, and rendered socially untouchable. These “dangerous people,” held in such contempt by the Left and the ruling elite, retain such fringe notions as “nations should have borders” and “men and women are different.” The Left has been playing a game of “stop hitting yourself!” with these people for years, and in 2016, those people finally had enough.

It is now four years later and his supporters have watched the president they legitimately elected spend every waking moment in office fight a war of succession with a faction of narcissistic psychopaths. Without a single day of rest, the most powerful institutions in the country conspired in a temper tantrum to overturn the will of the people, all in the name of “democracy,” simply because they did not like who the people had chosen. From day one, they have treated Trump like a usurper whose mere election was an “insurrection,” and they have not concealed their disgust for his supporters, whom they regard as “racist,” subhuman scumbags.

With Trump gone, they will use the Capitol “insurrection” to further disenfranchise his supporters without hesitation. While many on the Right have condemned the Capitol protesters, hoping that by doing so they will be spared, the Left has already launched a propaganda offensive to convince the public that what transpired was one of the worst things ever to happen in American history, and the inevitable consequence of an aberrational presidency. Everyone who supports Trump now, or has ever supported him, is thereby implicated in this “terrorism.”

We find ourselves in an unsustainable situation. Millions of Americans never have felt more unwelcome in their own country, more disillusioned, or more vulnerable to an unaccountable enemy that hates them with a powerful, homicidal loathing. Their own party has unconcealed indifference and contempt for them. They’re “racists” and “conspiracy theorists” just for existing and having thoughts and perceptions that contradict the propaganda of the people who want to destroy them. If they try to defend themselves by voting, their votes will be dismissed as “illegitimate” and they will be branded enemies of the public.

When your back is at the wall and you’re facing a mob, sooner or later you have to defend yourself before they bludgeon you to death.

Hey, know of any other country where death by bludgeoning is pretty common? I can think of one.

Getting right down to business

They’re coming, and they’re not wasting any time about it.

As a devout Catholic, Biden understands that defensive violence is not merely a natural right, but the Catechism of the Catholic Church calls it a “grave duty.” St. Thomas Aquinas explained that “if a man, in self-defense, uses more than necessary violence, it will be unlawful: whereas if he repel force with moderation his defense will be lawful.”

This is why it is so puzzling that Democrats in Congress are pushing ahead with their controversial bills that would restrict Americans’ right to keep and bear arms. They may have forgotten that it was just last week that President-Elect Biden reminded us of his “hopeful prayer for peace, justice, and healing the world over.”

It is odd. Why don’t these Democrats understand that, as the leader of their own political party repeatedly tells us, this is a time for national healing?

One proposed new law, H.R. 127, would require “the licensing of firearm and ammunition possession and the registration of firearms” and ban the possession of certain ammunition. Another, H.R. 121, would “provide for the hiring of 200 additional Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents and investigators to enforce gun laws.”

If you’re wondering what those 200 new ATF agents would do, H.R. 130 has an answer. That bill would “require the investigation of reports of improper storage of firearms or ammunition.”

Sadly, these proposals would further divide our troubled nation. The bizarre thing is that they have been introduced despite our president-elect telling us that it is time to “begin the work to heal and unite our nation!”

Very mysterious, innit? I have it on VERY good authority that nearly all Demonrat-Socialists pro-pols are avid hunters, hunting being the sole reason the 2A was written in the first place. Hey, if you don’t believe it, just ask ’em.

Although NormAm emphasizes Democrat-Socialists in his post, I note with disgust that one of the nine (count ’em, 9) listed affronts to the Constitution is sponsored by a Repugnican—from the great Republic of Texas, no less, same as the execrable Sheila Jackass Lee—a fellow yclept Burgess, Michael C. [R-TX-26]. I know nothing at all about the guy, but if you reside in his district, be sure not to leave him in the dark regarding your extreme displeasure over his perfidy. In my opinion, flaming bags of dogshit on his porch late at night might be a fine start.

Update! Fundamental transformation.

Introduced on January 11th and referred to the House Judiciary Committee, the resolution proposes an “amendment to the Constitution of the United States to abolish the electoral college and to provide for the direct election of the President and Vice President of the United States.”

Authors of the bill include Rep. Cohen, Rep. Zoe Lofgren, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Rep. Julia Brownley, Peter DeFazio, Rep. Adriano Espaillat, Rep. John Garamendi, and Rep. Jim Cooper.

Before revealing what the constitutional amendment would look like, the bill rebukes the electoral college as created in “an era of limited nationwide communication and information sharing” and resting on “an antiquated theory that citizens will have a better chance of knowing about electors from their home States than about Presidential candidates from out of State”

Pure, undiluted balderdash. That twaddle is not even REMOTELY what the Constitutional mandate for the Electoral College is all about—which I’m sure these disingenuous shitweasels know full well. The EC was intended to act as a bulwark against the tyranny of mob rule, the inevitable end state of direct democracy, a fatally-flawed system the Founders correctly distrusted, even feared.

It is absolutely intolerable, having to listen to these sewer rats piously puke up lecture after lecture about “preserving” America, “democracy,” the Constitution, and such from the fascist despot Trump’s depredations even as they beaver away at dismantling it all just as quickly as they can get it done.

Curtains

Julie Kelly’s post mortem.

Within hours of the breach of the Capitol, Graham, who failed for four straight years to fulfill his repeated promises to “get to the bottom” of Barack Obama’s corrupt FBI, called for a special task force to investigate the “domestic terrorists” involved in the January 6 incident. “Sedition might be a charge for some of these people,” the tough talker warned. “The people sitting in the chairs need to be sitting in a jail cell.”

Thankfully, Ms Lindey long ago proved zherself to be all mouth. So if he holds true to form, nobody needs to fear anything at all from him this time either.

Graham claimed Trump’s “actions” before the incident “tarnished” the president’s accomplishments in office—accomplishments, by the way, that Trump achieved with little help from Senate Republicans, including Graham.

Ending their reign in humiliation and defeat, capped off with final gasps of grandstanding and betrayal, is a fitting end to the GOP Senate in the Trump era.

Trump supporters, unfortunately, didn’t deserve what they got in the end, as they endured more mockery and contempt from the media, Democrats, and NeverTrump hucksters alleged to be in their own political party. The lax double standards that apply to BLM rioters and Antifa thugs, of course, did not apply to the handful of troublemakers who vandalized the Capitol. Just a short trip down memory lane showed politicians and journalists cheering the takeover of the Hart Senate Office Building in October 2018 by leftist “protestors” angry about Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination and attacks on U.S. senators. But that wasn’t enough to expose the hypocrisy of the moment.

Like so many times before—be it a mob in Charlottesville or pro-life high schoolers at the Mall in Washington—it was death by proxy. Reporters and pundits want to “cleanse” the country of 75 million Trump supporters, language unthinkable just four years ago.

Trump’s presidency will end, but it’s unclear where he goes from here. The Republican Party as we know it also is over; the GOP’s disloyalty to the president and his voters in the final stretch will not be soon forgotten. And Republican control of the Senate during the Trump era ends just how it began, in making a bargain to do the Left’s bidding and ultimately acting as the Democratic Party’s useful idiots.

Democrats will control the White House, the Senate, and the House for the first time since 2009. A feeble near-octogenarian will pretend to govern as his ambitious vice president waits in the wings for her chance to rule. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will try to inflict God-knows-what on the country for at least the next two years.

It’s unlikely that will end well, either.

It didn’t have to end this way. Senate Republicans could have tackled election illegalities if for no other reason than to the placate the base. The president could have been far better prepared to confront voter fraud cases and stayed focused on the more provable examples rather than fringy, hard-to-prove accusations. The Republican Party could have acted like the Democratic Party by demanding state lawmakers in swing states push back harder.

But none of it happened.

The end.

The End indeed. David DeGerolamo presents an exciting scenario:

Based on the information from Italy concerning the CIA’s manipulation of the 2020 presidential election, Texas formally declines to recognize Joe Biden’s inauguration. The dispute between Texas and the federal government is not resolved. Texas secedes citing the breach of the Constitution’s election requirements and voter fraud. Florida secedes and joins the new American Union (AU) under President Trump. Other states start to debate which is the legal government. The Biden administration orders federal troops to put down the “rebellion”.

What will people do in the existing United States when their state governments try to overthrow the new country since the majority of the people voted for Trump? Why is President Trump in Abilene, TX? If President Biden did not have dementia, he would realize that his “administration” will be short lived or dead on arrival.

I like it, but Texit ain’t gonna happen. As for Trump, if he’s at all smart he already got himself, his family, and as big a portion of his wealth as he could quickly gather the hell out of this blighted country altogether, and will never set foot here again.

Mythbusters

2020 was the year many of the fairy-tales Americans have turned to for comfort and reassurance took it on the chin.

Perhaps the saddest casualty of 2020 is the myth that average Americans cherish their personal freedom. Politicians continually shifted the rationale for lockdowns – from flattening the curve, to ending “community spread,” to reducing cases to near zero. Regardless of the proclaimed rationale, most people submitted without a fight, and usually without even a whimper. Politicians and bureaucrats fanned mass fears which quickly ripened into hatred of anyone who did not comply with the latest edict.

States and cities across the country set up snitch lines that were soon deluged with complaints of people outside without a mask, meeting friends, or having more visitors in their homes than could fit in a phone booth. Many, if not most, people quickly acquiesced to the “new normal” where any government hack who recited the phrase “science and data” became entitled to rule their lives with an iron fist.

As the Harvard International Review warned, “The very methods that liberal democracies are currently using to effectively fight the virus are the same tactics that authoritarian leaders use to dominate their people. The tools that have been temporarily deployed in the fight against a once-in-a-lifetime disease may become permanent.” That was written on May 23, more than 15 million Covid cases ago – proof of the failure of lockdowns and pervasive restrictions to make Covid-19 vanish. But the miserable batting average of officialdom will vanish into the Memory Hole if politicians launch a campaign to make Covid vaccinations mandatory, complete with boundless vilification of anyone who balks at the injection.

Perhaps it has long been a myth that we live in a self-governing republic rather than a Leviathan Democracy where citizens merely make cameo appearances every few years at the voting booth. It is still possible that the catastrophic and pointless losses imposed by Covid crackdowns will finally awaken enough people to their growing subjugation. But the most dangerous myth is that Americans will finally become safe after they cease making any efforts to leash their rulers.

That’s the biggest myth of them all, one which desperately needs busting.

Occupied America

Vassals and serfs, under the sway a nakedly hostile regime.

If you believe, as all Americans should, that failure to abide by the strictures of the Constitution renders the institutions of government illegitimate, then I would argue that 2020 has crystallized an uncomfortable reality: we are now under occupation by a hostile governing force. That may seem ludicrous to some, but I see no distinction between a group of Americans seizing power and governing with complete disregard for the Constitution and an invading force of Chinese communists accomplishing the same objective. Our governing document clearly proscribes what government actors may do, and when the government as a whole discards those constraints as mere suggestions, then it delegitimizes itself.

Show me where in the Constitution agents of local or state governments are empowered to arbitrarily and capriciously suspend Americans’ attempts to make a living, exercise their religious faiths, and peaceably assemble in protest of their governments’ abridgments of their freedoms. Show me where in the Constitution expansive exceptions to Americans’ free speech are carved out that authorize tech companies with monopoly power over the digital town square to censor free debate over the scientific efficacy of pandemic lockdowns or the overwhelming evidence of voting irregularities in the presidential election or even the mere promotion of conservative points of view. Show me where in the Constitution Dr. Fauci is entitled to declare what freedoms Americans may still possess, where Andrew Weissmann is elevated to Lord High Inquisitor in charge of persecuting political allies of the elected president, or where Michigan attorney general Dana Nessel is charged with hunting down lawyers who challenge election fraud. Where does the Constitution give the state of California veto power over the enforcement of federal immigration laws, while giving Arizona no means of protecting the sovereignty of its own borders? Where does the Constitution declare that Black Lives Matter and Antifa are exempt from criminal laws and pandemic lockdowns but that Americans with ideas at odds with Hollywood or academe should be targeted and harassed? How is it possible for elected representatives to enter office by taking oaths to support and defend the Constitution of the United States while they simultaneously declare their intentions to deprive Americans of their Second Amendment right to possess firearms, their First Amendment rights to worship and speak as they choose, and their Fourteenth Amendment right to receive equal protection under the law? And where does the Constitution insist that the results of a patently fraudulent election must be respected simply because no court in the land will consent to hearing the merits of disputes too numerous to ignore?

It was once common knowledge in this country that all forms of government, no matter how well intended, are inherently corrupt. This was considered an elementary-school history lesson. The Founding Fathers were unanimous in this sentiment. The Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers, and any of the private correspondence between the signers and ratifiers of those important documents all proceed from a fundamental truism: government cannot be trusted. It is, at best, a necessary nuisance in order to constrain the worst impulses of men and, at worst, the greatest threat to an individual’s natural liberties.

That this important historical lesson has been all but deleted from modern curricula that now extol the merits of bigger and bigger government capable of manipulating each human detail, from the biological sex listed on a birth certificate to the global management of hydrocarbon energy, is a tragedy that will continue to produce harm until the lesson is painfully learned again.

Tragedy? No, not quite. I see it as more along the lines of a dead giveaway: the exposed detail that reveals the existence of an agenda, from which an entire conspiracy can then be intuited. Stark raving paranoia, with no evidence to back it up? Could be, could be.

But can anybody out there come up with a credible alternative explanation for why American government schools, starting back in the 70s, radically altered the way American history was taught—opting to bowdlerize, selectively edit, or outright suppress broad swathes of it—weaponizing education itself for purposes of manipulation and subversion, rather than just presenting the material in a more or less fair way as they did before? For why the bedrock principles that form the foundation upon which this nation was built, are now denigrated as archaic and inadequate, instead of examined and honored? For why the Founders, personally, are reviled rather than revered—their human failings grotesquely magnified, their accomplishments dismissed out of hand?

As for the Fauci mention specifically, what I’d really like to have a satisfactory explaination for is why the hell that skulking mediocrity still has a fucking job. Because try as I might, I CANNOT find one.

Strong message follows

And I DO mean strong.

This can’t be a mistake. No one can be this dumb. No one can be this clueless. Not even Democrats. Not even moronic Democratic governors. Not even nanny-state government bureaucrats like Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Fauci jasked Americans to cancel Christmas. He said, “…it’s just one of those things you’re going to have to accept.” He reported he would not even allow his own three daughters to come home for Christmas this year. He wants all Americans to “painfully” isolate. He says he and his wife will be spending the holiday alone.

I have a message for Dr Fauci: “First, not just no. HELL NO. This is America. This is a free country. If we want to celebrate Christmas, we will. If we want to go to church, we will. If we want to spend the holidays with our children, we will. We’re adults. We make our own decisions. This isn’t a nanny state. It’s not the Soviet Union. It’s not Nazi Germany. We don’t need government bureaucrats telling us what to do, how to live our lives or how to spend the holidays.

Second, you’re a typical Ivy League egghead. You’re too smart for your own good. You have IQ but clearly no emotional intelligence. And certainly no common sense.

Third, how can I see this nicely? SCREW YOU. I love my family. I love my children. I love Christmas. I don’t know you. I don’t owe you. And I don’t answer to you.”

Another one I’m gonna have to second with all my heart and soul, to the very last syllable. The great Daniel Greenfield drives that nail the rest of the way in.

The pandemic lockdowns didn’t come out of nowhere.

Long before the sad grim farce of loudspeakers blaring, “We’re  All In This Together” to the proles while the elites headed off to their vacation homes and French Laundry dinners, the business of public health was about closely controlling what the masses did with their lives.

The war against smoking, then fat, salt, and soda, were all based on the unspoken assumption that people were too stupid to behave responsibly and someone had to do it for them. The CDC was utterly inept at managing pandemics, but it spent much of its budget fighting obesity.

The critical difference between fighting obesity and a pandemic is that the former is a behavior while the latter is a virus. Fighting a virus requires actual knowledge, skill, and ability, but fighting a behavior just means spending a lot of time scolding people and penalizing them.

Controlling a virus is hard, but controlling people seems a lot easier.

The scientific universe with its infinity of galaxies and microbes may appear to be a cold and inhuman place, but it has the virtue of offering perspective, while the pseudoscientific echo chamber of social science assumes that the universe revolves around human social inequities. Its practitioners spout jargon, but are unequipped to tackle the problems of objective reality.

The problem is never objective reality, whether it’s the finite numbers of economics or the biology of a pandemic, instead the problem is always getting people to listen to their betters.

Einstein didn’t believe he was immune from the laws of the universe, but the contemporary experts in the public eye tend to see social problems rather than objective universal laws. And they are convinced that they are above those social problems on account of their superiority and therefore they can take risks that the rest of society is too ignorant to properly calculate.

Public health’s contempt for the good sense of the public led to this totalitarian two tier system.

A Ferguson, a Fauci, or a Birx should be able calculate their risk of having a fling, flinging a ball, or vacationing after Thanksgiving, like the rest of the country. All Americans should be able to gauge the risk of spending time with loved ones, of having a sandwich and a soda, of exercising or not, and of living their lives without the constant scolding of hypocritical public health experts.

The public health industry has spent generations insisting that Americans can’t be trusted with what they eat. Is it any wonder that they believe Americans can’t be trusted to leave the house?

The title of the piece spells it out: they’re aren’t fighting a virus. They’re fighting us.

Update! Rand Paul hits another nail square on the head.

Sen. Rand Paul is sounding the alarm again over our continuing loss of liberty in the age of the coronavirus, and he’s certainly not wrong.

In particular, the Kentucky Republican says Americans should really be pushing back – hard – on governors who have become “dictators” with their lockdowns, restrictions, and mandates, none of which, at this point, have anything at all to do with ‘the science.’

“You know, nobody ever intended that governors would be sort of czars or dictators in charge of the economy,” said Paul in a Christmas morning interview with Newsmax.

Paul went on to criticize governors who continue to restrict mostly small business activities in their states because they have been receiving CARES Act funding and other federal stimulus spending.

“The only thing that will get [New York City Mayor Bill] de Blasio and [New York Gov. Andrew] Cuomo to finally open up is when they run out of other people’s money,” Paul added.

“So I think that we shouldn’t be passing out any money to the states, we shouldn’t be rewarding their bad behavior,” he continued. “And really, this has probably been the worst time in the history of our country for power being accumulated into the hands of very few people.”

Paul added that state leaders need to balance public health concerns in a way that don’t trample constitutional rights (none of which come with a ‘pandemic’ provision).

Preach it, brother. Respect for Constitutional rights ought to be a given in this country, at every level of government—the most fundamental, most basic assumption. It’s a national disgrace that, in Amerika v2.0, it no longer is.

American apocalypse

Riders on the storm.

Lately, I have found myself turning to the Book of Revelations, written by the Apostle John and transmitted to the world in the first century A.D. Everyone is familiar with the vision of the four horsemen in Rev. 6:1-8, where they appear with the opening of the first four of the seven seals that bring forth the cataclysm of the end times.

In our “time and setting,” one might think that we are witnessing the last days of the American Republic, following massive electoral fraud, the suppression of facts by the media, the ubiquitous practice of censorship by the tech platforms, and the (so far) pusillanimous refusal of the courts to rectify the greatest electoral scandal, by several orders of magnitude, since the defeat of Andrew Jackson in the “corrupt bargain” of 1824.

Given the cultural forces that have been at work undermining the joists and beams of the nation, the impending calamity comes as no surprise. The four horsemen are riding again, and their names are Feminism, Climate, COVID-19, and the Democratic Party.

I cannot pronounce on the tenets of any specific communion, but I do believe that without faith in the transcendent, however mysterious and elusive, and without holding to a morality based on the values of truth and courage, then in consequence “whatsoever worketh abomination” (Revelations 21:27) will wreak destruction upon a people and a nation.

The four horsemen of the American Apocalypse are riding hard and, in the absence of popular conviction and institutional integrity, the sequel will not be in doubt. In Holman Hunt’s celebrated painting The Light of the World, based on Revelations 3:20 and representing Christ standing before a closed door, it is instructive to note that the door has no handle and can be opened only by the dweller inside. The religious symbolism is obvious and is elaborately explained in Jeremy Maas’ Holman Hunt and the Light of the World, but in our context, the message is that the citizens of the country and the courts within have been called to open the door and let in the light of truth. The fate of the Republic hangs in the balance.

Looks like that fate has today been officially sealed.

Washington — The Supreme Court on Friday rebuffed a last-ditch attempt by Texas to block electors from four battleground states — all of which backed President-elect Joe Biden — from voting in the Electoral College, delivering a fatal blow to President Trump and his allies in their quest to overturn the results of the presidential election.

The high court refused to take up the lawsuit filed Monday by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton that took aim at the election results in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin.

“Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. All other pending motions are dismissed as moot,” the court said in an unsigned order.

But Justice Samuel Alito, joined by Justice Clarence Thomas, said the court does “not have discretion to deny the filing of a bill of complaint in a case that falls within our original jurisdiction. I would therefore grant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would not grant other relief, and I express no view on any other issue.”

Ace sums up the grim tidings.

The ultimate Friday Night News Dump: The Constitution is repealed; America is no longer a democratic republic.

“Standing” is a doctrine without much rigor. Judges find standing when they want to take a case, and don’t find it when they want to bury a case.

Yes, that’s true: The Court has no discretion to not take the case. The Constitution says they must take it.

But whatever, I guess the Constitution is a tax now or something.

Well, no. It remains the sad, spindly parody of itself it was long ago incrementally reduced to, over many years of painstaking and deliberate effort by the Left: a total irrelevancy, a meaningless document stripped of any but purely historical interest, bearing no relationship whatsoever to the governance and “law” of this contemptible joke of a banana republic.

The Democrat-Socialists and the evil Left should have been stopped dead in their tracks well before their lengthy campaign of treasonous destruction had advanced to this extreme. Because of our reluctance to recognize the enemy and engage him, there are no good choices left to us. Ironically, the torpor of ordinary Americans—thoroughly conciliatory people whose only wish was to be left alone to live their lives in peace by the tyrannical Left—has made the very war they so desperately hoped to forestall unavoidable.

So be it then. The last die has been thrown, the final hand dealt. Whether out of cowardice or corruption, the so-called “Supreme” Court chose to traduce their oaths with today’s outrageous transgression against sober jurisprudence. With that betrayal, there now remains but one course of action left for Team Liberty: fight or die.

Lock and load, folks; the battle for the tatterdemalion scraps of freedom and dignity we still enjoy is shortly to be joined, for real and for keeps. We are about to learn just how many Americans remain truly American. May enough of us prove worthy of our proud, noble heritage to turn the dismal tide at last.

Update! Build back better.

“The Supreme Court, in tossing the Texas lawsuit that was joined by seventeen states and 106 US congressman, have decreed that a state can take unconstitutional actions and violate its own election law,” Texas GOP chairman Allen West said in a statement, “resulting in damaging effects on other states that abide by the law, while the guilty state suffers no consequences. This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the U.S. constitution and not be held accountable. This decision will have far-reaching ramifications for the future of our constitutional republic.”

The “constitutional republic” HAS no future; it’s long been dead, and today the last spade of earth was shoveled onto its grave.

West also suggested that “law-abiding” states should “bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution.”

A capital idea, one I support wholeheartedly. But that new Union had damned well better make building the ability to defend effectively against all-out military attack by Progtardistan a top priority, right from the git-go. Otherwise, Freedomlandia’s survival will be measurable in weeks, months at the outside. Rest assured that such a war of conquest seeking the re-subjugation of the breakaway nation’s citizenry is more than a mere “possibility” or “concern”; it is an absolute certainty—a matter not of if but of when.

Let them take arms update! Aesop draws a line under it.

With this dismissal, the Supreme Court of the United States has just ruled that the Constitution of the United States no longer has jurisdiction over the United States. In so doing, they have also self-deligitimized any jurisdiction they formerly possessed.

The only answer to that has to start with gunfire, and end with nooses.

Conduct yourselves appropriately. The entire social contract is therefore dissolved.

If you swore an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that bill has just come due. The government of the United States has now entered into a state of war with its own people.

If there is no Constitution, there is no law, no republic, and no allegiance due to any authority constituted under it and subservient to it. That includes the national government, and every former US state and territory. At the stroke of a pen, they have all become pretenders.

The time for talking has ended. Come as you are.

May God have mercy on my enemies, for I shall have none.

Earlier, he also speculated on some potential opening gambits.

If a few cubic yards of concrete accidentally get poured into an underground vault, you ain’t repairing that for some time.

The same is true if you weld manhole covers and service plates to their rings.

If you shoot the boss, they can replace him in 15 minutes. If you hit the truck with the tools and supplies, that takes days to weeks to replace. But if you take out the guys who fix the stuff, they take months to years to replace. And the other ones don’t want to show up for work either, afterwards.

BLM and Antifa already have a rep for burning things, and trying to derail trains. They should get 100% credit for anything like that going forward, forever.

If someone shoots a guy driving a truck, there’s a body. But if someone drops a letter off with pictures of his kids at school, and he decides maybe he ought to call in sick, there’s no body, and little to follow up on. (One might even have the envelope delivered at a truck stop, and suggest he uncouple, and return home without his load.) Same result.

A train track missing a rail on the outside of a medium curve will usually derail a train. (With modern rails, you have to bridge the contact between the section with wire or something, which BLM has figured out, per recent news reports.)
If that derailment happens to interfere with a major industrial plant, arterial roadway, etc., that’s a two-fer.

This is the same reason military manuals recommend dropping tall objects (trees, towers, smokestacks) over roadways, bridges, and power transmission lines. Half the effort, twice the result.

A great many more at the link, and more yet in the comments. Our would-be masters know not what they’ve done, methinks. But they went ahead and did it anyhow, so may they have as rough a ride as can be imagined from here on out.

Trust: who do ya?

Not them. Not ever.

In the case of the vaccine, there is no reason at all to trust the government. They have simply lied too often about too many aspects of this virus. Compounding it is their communications organs have been staffed by demented sociopaths who lie for the sheer pleasure of it. The only way anyone we could trust the media is if they are the first to be inoculated. Even then, it would probably be a fake vaccine, so we would need some way to ensure they are getting the real jab and not a fake.

This is why the vaccine will be mandatory. Another aspect of liberal democracy is the rulers respond to well-founded distrust of them with coercion. In this case, we will be getting the Orwellian freedom passes. In the U.S. they will have some bland bureaucratic name because our managerial elite is functionally illiterate, but the Brits retain their pithiness, despite it all. As a result, these new internal passports proving you are up to date on your Covid jabs will be used to compel compliance.

What does this mean as a practical matter? What they are plotting is a system where everyone is issued an innocuous looking card with a vaccine stamp and date. When you get your booster shot, you get a new stamp with an expiry date. Oh, you are unaware of the regular booster shots required? You see? This is why this vaccine is a miracle. It will require you to give Big Pharma a check several times a year. Your doctor at Acme Hospital System Inc. will also be getting her beak wet.

If you think you can just blow this off, think again. For starters, there will be a massive public relations campaign to shame skeptics. Old people will be shown lining up for the jab and famous people will demand you get the jab. Soon, private business will demand proof of the jab before they accept you as a customer. Want to fly on a commercial airline or ride public transport? Papers please. Want to attend a public event like a sporting match? Papers please.

What this will become is the terms of service for citizenship. In fact, it will probably be baked into terms of service edicts. If you want to use Netflix you will have to prove you are up to date on your jabs. Of course, Big Tech will be there to make this simpler with tracking software for your now mandatory smart phone. That paper card they will be issuing will be replaced with an app for your phone that will be required if you want to function like what passes as a normal adult.

If this sounds a lot like fascism, you would be right.

Aww, I’m SURE that’s just a coinkydink. I mean, it’s GOTTA be. Right?

What the Covid-19 panic has revealed, and continues to reveal, is the managerial elite has no respect for things like the rule of law, individual liberty or any of the other foundation items of consensual government. To protect democracy, they will rig the election process. To keep us free they will strip us of our rights. In the name of inclusion and diversity they will exclude anyone who disagrees. What we are seeing is that the real plague on our society is the ruling class.

Nailed it, clean and tight. Unfortunately, there’s only one way to inoculate ourselves against that particular plague. The vaccine—although a proven, time-tested, sure-fire prophylactic—isn’t a permanent cure either, requiring booster shots on a regular basis. It’s also quite costly, and not in merely financial terms. But however harsh, painful, and expensive the treatment, allowing the Ruling Class disease to metastasize and run rampant is far more damaging to the body politic over the long term. Quoth a truly great man:

God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. We have had 13 states independant 11 years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion?

Not anything like a free one, that’s a dead cert. The rest of the quote—concerning the watering of certain trees and what their natural manure might consist of—will doubtless be quite familiar to folks around these environs, I trust. It’s this next bit that I most wanted to drive home.

And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.

It’s as mystifying as it is dreadful to ponder how shamefully far Jefferson’s descendants have allowed themselves to stray from the eternal wisdom of his words.
