Learning from history…or not

APROPOS OF PETER GRANT’S BLOG POST, YOU MIGHT FIND THIS BOOK USEFUL: The Washing of the Spears: The Rise and Fall of the Zulu Nation Under Shaka and Its Fall in the Zulu War of 1879 (Touchstone Books) by Donald R. Morris.

There probably is some bias in there (and not on the side of white anything) though I don’t remember detecting it, when I did my deep dive into African history 17 years ago. What became very clear to me is that whenever civilized (in this case defined as post-tribal) humans collide with tribal humans, tribal humans lose. They use the techniques that work in between tribes, imagining that their adversaries are also a tribe:

They start off with unimaginable massacres and horrible evil in the belief that this will cause the adversaries to back off. Because this works, between tribes. But when you’re dealing with people who view human individuals as both important, and important regardless of tribe, the more atrocities they commit the more they aggravate the anger of the civilized people.

The civilized hold back, afraid of committing atrocities, and the tribal humans commit more atrocities, and act like victors, while doing truly horrific things.

And then at some point the post-tribal people lose it.

What comes after is usually horrific and causes college social studies majors to cry centuries later.

This dance has been performed over and over and over again, since Rome at least. Since we had a polity that transcended tribes. The end is always the same.

So, the neo-tribal barbarians of the left who are following the script to the letter might wish to hear and revise their tactics. They won’t, of course, but we should warn them, all the same. Since we’re the ones who are trying to avoid the horrors.

I’ve said the same myself, countless times. And like Sarah is beginning to, I long since despaired of the purblind fools ever waking up and taking their foot off the accelerator pedal, or at least just reducing speed slightly. But no. For them it can only ever be full throttle, and pay no never-mind to that big brick wall looming just up the road a piece. With those who refuse to pay heed, warnings are useless. It appears they can only learn the hardest possible way, if at all.

So be it, then. Time for them to get schooled.

“Freedom” Day

As Steyn says, it’s been postponed till further notice.

To our readers in the United Kingdom Happy Freedom Day! By proclamation of “Boris” Johnson (phoney name, phoney guy), today was supposed to mark the end of all lockdown restrictions in his benighted land. Unfortunately, freedom has had to be “postponed” until July 19th, supposedly because of the “Delta variant”, which is puttering along nicely while the ChiComs fine-tune the Epsilon variant in time for its soft launch in Chad or Bolivia around July 12th.

On the surface, naming the day “Freedom Day” concedes the case of old Boris chums like Toby Young and James Delingpole that the year-plus lockdown is a massive unprecedented assault on free peoples’ core freedoms. On the other hand, naming the day “Freedom Day” also reminds the masses that freedom is not an inalienable right but the gift of the state, and the state giveth and taketh away and in this third decade of the third millennium inclines more toward the latter.

The citizenry (if it is not entirely risible so to dignify them) is getting used to it. One almost suspects the now routine leaked video of our rulers “accidentally” whooping it up maskless at the G7 or Nato cocktail soirées mwa-mwa-ing each other with triple-kisses and hugs and Uncle Joe sniffing the Euro-chicks’ hair while their experts recommend masks for the rest of us in perpetuity is intentional: it is designed to accustom the Great Tested & Jabbed Unwashed to the distinction between us and them.

Anthony Fauci has been in his present job since 1967. When he was first appointed, he reported to the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, who has since become the Secretary of Health and Human Services. But, whatever you call them, there have been twenty of them since Fauci took lifetime office: Does it really make any difference to him who’s attending Cabinet meetings? A year or two and some other transient schlub will be there; what’s the diff?

Oh, well, ultimately the Secretary of Health and Whatever reports to the President, who is chosen (mostly) by a self-governing people. But Fauci took office when Lyndon Johnson was president. So he has “served” a quarter of all presidents in the history of the republic. Last year I started joking that Fauci was the J Edgar Hoover of public health, but the gag does him an injustice: He has already outlasted three more presidents than Hoover and he intends to be here for President Kamala, President Ocasio or whoever’s next.

As you know, I get complaints that I don’t write more about Mitch McConnell or Joe Manchin – and the short answer is it’s because it’s like following an exciting badminton match during the Blitz. The Fauci emails are fascinating because they reveal the corruption of the bureaucracy. We babes in the wood assume that when you want to infiltrate and compromise a government you try to wangle somebody into the laughably misnamed “intelligence community” – as Hillary did with dossier boy Christopher Steele. But the sophisticates in Beijing figured out the opportunities in infiltrating as boring a backwater as public health. The key revelation in the emails concern the bureaucracy’s determination to quash any suggestion that Covid might have originated in the lab of their Chinese-controlled/US-funded friends – to the point where by last summer all meaningful investigation by the United States Government of the origin of an ongoing global pandemic had ceased…because it was stymied not by the ChiComs but by US bureaucrats.

You don’t need a presidency-for-life if you’ve got a bureaucracy-for-life – and, if you’ve got the right bureaucracy-for-life, you don’t need life, as the good folks of many parts of the “free world” have come to accept.

The greatest day in the lives of our globalist, authoritarian oligarchs was the day they all learned that they wouldn’t need to bother taking anybody’s freedom; we were perfectly willing to hand it over quietly, with no resistance, out of sheer panic.

Segregation today, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever?

George Wallace might soon be proved righter than anybody knew.

Marriage is supposed to be forever. That is the symbolism of the wedding ring, a piece of precious metal with no end. But the reality is that some marriages just won’t work. There can be what marriage law calls irreconcilable differences – differences so great that separation is the only solution.

The same thing happens with groups of people. Nations. They can have irreconcilable differences, so they break up. This is an interesting YouTube video that shows how the borders of Europe have changed, every year, since 400 BC. A lot of this, of course, is conquest. But look at more recent history, from 1988 to 2012. This is a story of irreconcilable differences, of people who had lived under the same government but decided they were better off governing themselves.

What about people who try to live together generation after generation but still don’t get along – and may even hate each other? The United States has certainly reached that point. There is more hostility, more disunity than at any time since the Civil War. The political hostility between Right and Left is vicious, but the real problem is race. The deepest hatred in this country is racial hatred. It infects every issue in politics: medicine, welfare, education, the judiciary, the budget – race poisons them all.

And the most open race hatred in America is the hatred of blacks for whites. Often, the blacks who benefit most from American society seem to hate us the most. Ta-Nehisi Coates is one of the most influential and honored black authors in America. Let me quote him: “I would like to tell you that a day approaches when white people renounce this demon religion [of white supremacy] and begin to think of themselves as human. But I can see no real promise of such a day.” I didn’t realize I was part of a demon religion.

Taylor then offers depressingly numerous examples of other prominent Nee-grows openly celebrating their implacable, murderous hatred of whites, including explicit calls for genocide and the “elimination” of whites, before throwing down the gauntlet:

Now, do all non-white people hate us? Of course not. But have you ever heard a black person say, “I really like white people.” Or even just, “Some of my best friends are white.” From psychoanalysts to best-selling authors to preachers to gun-toting radicals the message is clear. We are terrible people and always will be.

But if we are demented predators who murder black and brown people with impunity and are a collective pandemic, why don’t they leave? Why not back to Africa? I think I know why.

When whites ran it, South Africa was the most developed country in black Africa. Now, it can’t keep the lights on. In the townships, where many blacks live, people just hook up to the power lines and steal electricity. See video here. Bad maintenance and a complete inability to build new power plants mean most places in the country have power cuts of several hours *every day.* There are 26 countries where the per capita GDP is less than $1,000 a year. Twenty-two of them are in black Africa, and the 23rd is Haiti.

Not very enticing.

So, black people, you benefit immeasurably from living with us whites. You need us. Badly. We don’t need you. I’m calling your bluff. If all white institutions are full of systemic racism, leave them. There are already 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Train your own doctors, historians, politicians. If white police are killing blacks and browns with impunity, set up your own police.

And why would you want to be anywhere near people you hate? American blacks spend $1.2 trillion a year. That’s more than the entire GDP of Mexico. You have the resources to work, live, and go to school far away from horrible people like me. You could do it — if you dared.

But I suspect deep down, you and all the other non-whites who love to vent hatred and scorn for my race, my heritage, the society my people built – you know you couldn’t even come close. Look at where, in the United States, blacks or Hispanics are already the majority. If you were really on your own, it would be a lot worse than that, because even Detroit and Brownsville, Texas are still part of a nation that white people built.

So keep telling us you just how much you hate us. Keep telling us we have to be eradicated. Do it every chance you get. Eventually, even the most long-suffering white people will realize this is hopeless, and that if this were a marriage, it would have been over long ago. The sooner whites realize this, the sooner what you say is a nightmare – and what we know is a nightmare – will be over.

Remember that animated map of Europe? Borders aren’t permanent, even in the United States. If you’re serious about how much you hate us, escape from us. Build your own communities. Build your own nations. And let us build ours.

I dare you.

Don’t let’s be holding our breath, ‘kay? I mean, why would they, when it’s so much more fun to leech off the comforts of the civilization whites built, bitching all the while about it.

Storm, gathering

Aesop spells it out plainly.

The People will grow weary of the constant lies and machinations of the kakistocracy, and when they go back to the Capitol (as they certainly will), they won’t just be bringing bullhorns the next time. No one can build a wall big enough to stop that, and there aren’t enough troops in the world to prevent it. But whatever rump troops and lapdog stasi are brought will be a handy re-supply point for what follows, once they’re stripped to rotting carcasses and bleached bones.

The whole bunch of Banana Republicans in both parties is rotten, and they’re going to get peeled.

That’s where we are. And that’s where we’re headed, like a freight train.

We’re talking a freight train where we end up stringing up most of institutional and elected Washington by the necks, in batches, in Lafayette Park, and any handy light posts. Not only for crimes already committed, but pour encourager les autres. That’s a feature, not a bug.

And both sides of the Uniparty not only thirst for that train, they’re actually stoking the fires under its boiler with racing fuel to bring it about, to the tune of “MOAR! Faster! Harder!”

So don’t nobody get all butthurt nor surprised when TPTB get their wish, in spades.

You can only push a pendulum (or a population) so far, then it comes all the way back, and wallops you coming and going if you try to stop it.

Pardon me for showing some unrestrained enthusiasm for that day.

I still do regard the Coming Unpleasantness as a thing of horror and dread all up one side, but am developing a growing enthusiasm for it all down the other nonetheless. With every passing day, it becomes more apparent that the current situation is unacceptable; that the divide between authoritarian Leftist zealots and tolerant, broad-minded, freedom-oriented Real Americans can never be bridged; and that the lawless despots, grifters, and wreckers who torment us ceaselessly from their secure Mordor On The Potomac enclaves richly deserve to face a harsh reckoning for their numerous crimes and encroachments.

I wish things were different, that we weren’t where we are. I really, really do. At the same time, I can’t honestly say I consider the prospect of the Bastard Left and Swamp critters all being force-fed a heaping helping of Just Deserts at long last to be completely without its charm.

Update! Francis sees what’s coming too, and expresses the exact same annoyance as I have at the dainty squishes who, despite recognizing the urgency of taking action in resistance against raw tyranny and oppression, still can’t quite bring themselves to honestly square up to the more brutal realities without flinching.

Thanks to a citation by Brock Townsend, I’ve just read this brief essay by Claremont Institute president Ryan P. Williams about the encroachment of totalitarianism. It’s a good piece overall – you’d expect sobriety and rationality from the president of Claremont – but I was particularly struck by Williams’s conclusion:

We should, within the law, plan, act, and organize accordingly—before it’s too late.

I added the emphasis.

“Within the law.” Oh, really? And if “the law” should abrogate the Bill of Rights, impose federal censorship upon all communications, decree the seizure of all privately held firearms, and demand that we cease to oppose the Usurpers by word or deed, what then? Note the recent emanations from the Usurper Regime about “white supremacy” and “domestic terrorism,” its determined efforts to purge patriots from the armed forces, and its relentless use of the media to condemn attempts to audit the 2020 elections, and tell me how far off a law of that sort seems to you.

Thomas Jefferson was aware that private citizens will not easily be moved to rebellion:

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

How long the “train of abuses and usurpations” must be is the question of the hour.

The Usurpers have already done great damage to the United States: to its economy, its international standing, and its citizens’ sense of stability. Under the pretext of the Covid-19 “emergency” it seeks to do still more, though given the intensity of the reaction against the “lockdowns,” mask and vaccine “mandates,” and other nonsense, how far it can go without provoking a rebellion is unclear. What’s perfectly clear is that the Usurpers “want it all:” absolute power, unbounded by any principle of right and wrong. Certainly they have no regard for the constraints of the Constitution. Never mind that it was to the preservation, protection, and defense of that compact that Usurpers Biden and Harris swore themselves. Remember Gropey Joe saying that “no amendment is absolute” — ?

“Salami tactics” have brought the Usurpers this far. You might think they’d have sense enough to stick with what’s worked for them. However, there are signs that they’ve become impatient of any further constraint. Their attacks on the military, the energy industry, the dollar, and the southern border indicate an eagerness to get on with the wholesale demolition of the nation. There have been hints that their next target is the grand collage of retirement funds – 401(k)s, 403(b)s, IRAs, pensions, and the like – upon which Americans rely for the protection of their old ages.

John Locke was darkly foreboding about such things:

Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved of any further obedience, and are left to the common refuge which God hath provided for all men against force and violence.

“Arbitrary power” is what I sense approaching. Indeed, some elements of it are already upon us. There must be a point at which the American people say they’ve had enough.

Oh, there is. And when it’s reached, there’ll be no missing it.

A breach of faith with our Fathers

The roots of the current predicament can be found in our carelessness with the irreplaceable prize we were bequeathed.

A few weeks ago my partner, Kara, and I were given the opportunity to document the family cemetery of Revolutionary War soldier Nathan Carpenter, who fought at Bunker Hill. We received permission from the company that now owns the property to photograph and geotag the graves as part of our long-term project to identify and record the final resting places of all known veterans of the Battle of Bunker Hill, which occurred 246 years ago this week.

This has been a difficult effort for several reasons. First, there is no comprehensive list of soldiers who were engaged in the battle. Apart from a 100-year-old spotty list of New Hampshire soldiers who were at Bunker Hill, I’ve had to comb through muster rolls, local history books, pension applications, and other documents. To date, I’ve identified more than 1,000 confirmed Bunker Hill veterans.

The task has been instructive and rewarding. America is a beautiful place, and we’ve had the opportunity to see some of the wonderful landscapes our country has to offer. And once given the chance to tell people what we’re trying to do, we have received nothing but encouragement and support.

Getting to know the stories of these founding Americans, with all their triumphs, tribulations, and tragedies, has reminded me of how costly and precious is the legacy all of us as Americans have inherited.

Contrary to the current dominant media narrative, these veterans were not fighting for slavery or white supremacy. In fact, there were dozens of African American and Native Americans, even slaves, who fought at Bunker Hill. Peter Salem, Jude Hall, Barzillai Lew, and many others would later serve in many of the war’s biggest battles.

Soldiers from the Mashpee, Wampanoag, Hassanamisco, Nipumc, Tunxis, Mohegan, and Pequot tribes were also present at the battle, stationed east of the Breed’s Hill redoubt along the rail fence, where some of the fiercest fighting took place. Half of the Native Americans present at Bunker Hill would eventually lose their lives in service during the war, either in action or to disease.

We owe much, and seem to care less and less about fulfilling our obligation. The irony is in the nature of the only right and proper method of redeeming our debt, which is simplicity itself: to guard jealously the American legacy of freedom, and remain forever viligant and wary of the ever-present malefactors who are eternally plotting to steal it away from its rightful heirs, at any imaginable opportunity.

Put-up job Part the Second

The Tucker Carlson Solution to Deal With a Corrupt Intelligence Apparatus and FBI Will Not Work, Here’s Why
Last night and tonight, Fox News host Tucker Carlson led off the show with discussion of the “January 6th Insurrection” narrative.

On Tuesday night Carlson and Darren Beattie suggested some form of senate Church Committee 2.0 should be initiated in order to investigate the U.S. intelligence community, and specifically the FBI for their role in coordinating or facilitating the January 6th events. On Wednesday night Carlson again recommended the U.S. congress should start investigating.

Putting aside the background motives of Tucker Carlson; and accepting he is making these recommendations in good faith; there is a fatal flaw in his suggestion – and the support from anyone else who would suggest the same or similar approach. The fatal flaw is an obvious one that unfortunately too many people just will not, and cannot, accept…

The Legislative Branch of the federal government is part of the Intelligence Community corruption. The oversight “gang of eight” (pictured above), are enablers and participants in the corrupt endeavors that Carlson wants them to investigate.

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) led by Chairman Adam Schiff, and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) led by Chairman Mark Warner, are part of the institutional corruption. This is the problem, the core issue in the background, that too few people are recognizing as they begin to see the corruption within the intelligence community. The legislative branch and the executive branch are working together; there is NO functioning oversight.

The American people cannot currently expect congress to investigate the Intelligence Community (Church Committee 2.0) in the same way as historical reference may suggest, because the Senate (SSCI) is working in coordination with the exact corrupt intel system they are supposed to oversee. In essence, the *check* in the system is facilitating the intel corruption.

I can give you examples, actual empirical examples, of how this is currently constructed. We have recent references, several of them, to prove the Senate Intel Committee (SSCI) is working hand-in-glove with the agencies they are supposed to oversee. However, CTH is not alone in this depth of understanding; the executive branch of the United States government also knows this, and their behavior actually highlights their intent to cover up this issue.

Be sure to read the rest of it, and all of this one as well. Taken all together, it adds up to my oft-stated maxim: However suspicious or cynical you may think you are about FederalGovCo corruption, self-dealing, collusion and collaboration, and criminal malfeasance, the truth is that you are almost certainly nowhere NEAR cynical enough.

Can’t we all just get along?

SEATTLE — A confrontation about a man who refused to wear a mask inside a Seattle hardware store spiraled into violence on Sunday, and the fight that ensued was captured on cell phone footage.

The video begins with Bobby Dixon trying to re-enter Tweedy and Popp Hardware at Lake City, only to be met at the door by an employee armed with a baseball bat. The recording then shows the two men trading vicious blows after the bat gets knocked away.

“It was actually quite terrifying,” Dixon said. “I’ve never had anybody come at me with a weapon like that and it was flight or fight and I was trying to get out of there and he kept coming at me super aggressively.”

Dixon said he and a friend went into the store on Sunday to buy screws. Dixon said he wore a mask while inside the store but his friend didn’t, despite signs posted on the front doors telling customers that face covering were required.

Dixon said right away employees told his friend to mask up or get out. His friend told them he was fully vaccinated. The employees said wearing masks was a store policy, and the situation quickly turned ugly.

If the Branch Covidians want a fight, they ought to get themselves one—all they can stomach, times twelve. Anybody left out there who still believes it’s possible, or even desirable, to live peaceably in close proximity with people such as Chief Noc-A-Homa above, do note that the evidence against is mounting day by day. And there was already quite a bit of it.

He leads off with an excerpt from noted Boomer antipathitarian (yes, I just made that word up) Vox Day, which…aww, hell, I’m just gonna C&P pretty much the entire thing. I wouldn’t want anybody here to miss any of this. Links not transcribed, click over to Bill’s joint for those.

Vox Popoli: What made the Boomers boom?

The Boomers didn’t feel they needed the traditions of their forebears that gave them their status, and they rejected those traditions in favor of pursuing short-term pleasures. They became lotus-eaters, soft, fat, and totally unfit for competition and conflict with the rest of a battle-hardened world that was rebuilding from the ashes.

Far more Boomers were maimed or killed in Vietnam, the defining marker of our generation, than the total of all of Vox’s GenXers, Millennials, or Zoomers in all the wars since.

Vox says that he is a firm believer in “formative years,” ie., “as the twig is bent, so grows the tree.”

Well, our formative years were spent learning how to hide under school desks, preparing to kiss our asses goodbye in nuclear fire. Something like that might foster an “eat, drink, and be merry, (or sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll) for tomorrow we die” kind of mindset. We learned to fear death very early. Maybe that’s why we put such a high value on our own lives, once we noticed that nobody else seemed to do so. This was only reinforced by our government running a rigged death lottery called the draft, so that older teen boys could learn that their lives, and deaths, were subject to the whims of others.

And now, it’s our turn to become hard men capable of embracing and winning the inevitable conflicts to come.

Good luck with transforming Millennials and Zoomers into “hard men,” given their propensity for turning into puddles of steaming urine at the sight of an unmasked face, or some harsh words on one of the tiny machines into which they have poured their entire lives.

One Boomer, caught up in emotional projection of his own philosophy, shrieked that the younger generations anticipate the Day of the Pillow in order to acquire their material possessions.

You pussies could never accomplish a Day of the Pillow on us unless we were lying helpless and sick in our beds. Because, peace and love generation aside, we sure managed to do a lot of killing in our time.

Since I’m in for a penny with the over-excerpting here, might as well go all the way and to heck with it, because the closer is the best part.

Unless, of course, they are so frightened by a cicada that they drop their precious devices.

Now, this whole dustup deals in some fairly gross generalizations, as all such broad-brush debates do, and generalizations have a funny way of coming back around to bite you on the ass. It is therefore essential to be cautious with them, and to avoid taking such discussions too seriously. All that stipulated, I stand by the position I took here: while the Boomers (of which I am one myself, barely) were the first generation of Americans to actually loathe the country of their birth, the follow-on generations actually look to be even worse.

Apparently, we had a brief outage at this here hogwallow, which I didn’t even know about until I saw this over at WRSA:

I had a message earlier from CA saying that he was down too, asking me and a couple others to let people know about it on our sites. Which I gladly would have done except that I didn’t see said message until today, at which point he had already sent a follow-up cancelling the alert. Like I said, the whole episode went right by me; I had no problem at all posting here last night, although at one point I did have trouble getting WRSA to load but didn’t really think anything of it. Since I visit CA’s joint several times every day, and only look in on CF very occasionally just to make sure things are copacetic (comments being the exception; I have things set up so that I receive email notifications of those, which I usually view on my phone), it’s no real surprise that I was totally unaware of any problems at Ye Olde Webstye.

But hey, all’s well that ends well, right? Thanks to all who tried to hip me about the situation; as ever, I greatly appreciate y’all’s patronage and assistance. Truth to tell, interference along these lines is the very least of what I expect we’ll all be dealing with going forward. I won’t go into specifics regarding what more I’m anticipating, other than to say I’ve been wondering for a while now just how much longer we’re all going to be allowed to continue unmolested. Eyes open and powder dry, folks.

Woman Shot Dead in Georgia Supermarket For Telling Man to Wear a Face Mask

Okay, while I’ve advocated punching ’em in the face more than once, even I have to admit that this seems a mite, ummm, harsh.

A female cashier was shot and killed inside a Georgia supermarket on Monday for telling a man to wear a face mask.

A man got into an argument with the cashier over masks at a Big Bear Supermarket in DeKalb before the man pulled out a gun and shot her in the head.

A retired deputy who was working security at the grocery store was also injured after he intervened and returned fire.

The signs warning dimestore-dictators that people are getting good and fed up are beginning to pop up all over. Will they finally listen, before it’s too late to prevent what’s coming? Or, as I suspect, are we already past the point of no return?

And y’all thought Jimmeh Peanuthead’s economy was bad.

The poor economy of the 1970s can be traced not to Jimmy Carter, but to Lyndon Johnson. With the spending that the Biden administration is implementing and, even more, that it has proposed, a return to the stagflation of the 1970s may be mild in comparison to what we can expect to get from policies of the current Congress.

The same can be said of the shutting of the Keystone Pipeline and canceling of domestic drilling and oil production. These actions could have results that make the gas shortages of the 1970s pale in comparison.

There is another policy of the Biden administration that is similar to a law passed in 1965: the Hart-Celler Act. This was known as the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. This act changed dramatically the immigration policy of the United States. Our immigration policy went from one of bringing in immigrants who could contribute to the betterment of the country to one in which immigrants were chosen by where they came from.

It is similar to the fiasco that Biden created on our southern border with his reversal of President Trump’s immigration policies. The three executive orders he signed to this effect place more financial strain on the nation. With jobs going to illegals and illegals receiving benefits at taxpayer expense, there is added cost placed on our economy.

The American philosopher George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” This was stated in his work, The Life of Reason: Reason in Common Sense. The political left seems to do this all the time and is quick to give the same excuse when confronted with the truth: “It didn’t work in the past because we didn’t throw enough money at it.”

We may be returning to the economy of the 1970s, but that poor economic period had its roots in the 1960s. If we are witnessing what has been compared to the 1970s, what does our future have in store for us?

Legitimate, and…that other thing

Readers may wonder why I keep returning to the theme of legitimacy. The reason is simple: legitimacy is the ground on which Fourth Generation war is fought. It is, above all, a contest for legitimacy, and winning (or losing) is measured by gains or losses in legitimacy. Fourth Generation war on our own soil is by far the greatest threat this country faces, and as the legitimacy of the government, and even more of the state itself, wains, Fourth Generation war spreads and intensifies.

From this perspective, barometers of legitimacy–anything that helps us measure the rise or fall of the legitimacy of the current order of things–are earnestly to be sought. I can identify at least three. The first is widely recognized: opinion polls that ask Americans how much trust they have in various institutions. These include the Presidency, Congress, the courts, and, perhaps most important, the integrity of the electoral process. As I noted in a previous column, the latter is the equivalent of a claimant to a throne having (or lacking) royal blood. Nothing else in the political system is as important for legitimacy. For decades, polls have shown a downward trend in Americans’ trust of all these institutions. Since the 2020 election, distrust of the electoral process has spiked, not surprisingly given the abandonment of long-standing rules designed to prevent vote fraud.

Not as much as it really should have, in my estimation. Then again, that must be expected when fully half the population is content to ignore all things political and just live their lives. Then again again, though, the ability to disregard politics without adverse personal consequences is a luxury available only to those who live in a more or less free, prosperous, and stable nation—all of which conditions look like they’re beginning to falter as the Auld Empire lapses gradually, then all at once, into the final stages. As the sun sets once and for all on America That Was, those who hadn’t previously troubled themselves to pay attention to politics will learn to their great dismay that, to adapt Trotsky’s adage, you may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in YOU.

In all of these barometers we can read the change in political weather most easily if we compare what is happening now to life in America’s last normal decade, the 1950s. President Eisenhower was widely popular. Congress did not top anyone’s list of most trusted institutions, but ordinary Americans did not think they had to invade it to make their voices heard. The Warren court was disliked and distrusted by many conservatives, for good reason, but the problem was Warren, not the court itself. Everyone knew vote counting in some big cities might be crooked, but elsewhere the process was trusted. As to vaccines, when the polio vaccine became available virtually every kid in the country took it, because mom and dad told them to. And gun violence was rare, beyond mobsters killing each other. The government and the state were accepted as legitimate by the vast majority of Americans.

No more. The future looks grimmer still, because no one in the establishment will consider for a moment how their actions affect legitimacy. Add in the coming debt crisis and inflation and it begins to look a lot like Weimar. As was true then, what replaces the current dysfunctional mess will come from the right, not the left.

One can only hope.

The drive to deny Real Americans a say in what they will and will not eat is no new thing, and nobody should be the least bit surprised at it. As with so much else, it’s but one aspect of a multifarious campaign that is alarmingly near to its successful conclusion.

As the Fauci emails prove, the only difference between a conspiracy theory and the truth is 12-24 months. As we’ve told people for almost three decades, Agenda21 is not some crazy conspiracy theory, it’s an actual United Nations strategic plan by globalists to “transform” (where have we heard THAT term before?) our planet under the rubric of “sustainability.”

Oklahoma cattle rancher Andrea Hutchison has been warning people that the globalists have infiltrated the cattle and beef industries (along with every other food creation and processing industry) and are slowly strangling them with burdensome over-regulation that only serves one purpose: to put cattle ranchers out of business.

NGOs like the World Wildlife Fund not only have seats at the table where industry decisions are discussed, they are driving the agenda. Small, independent meatpackers have been driven out of business and corporate consolidations have left our entire supply of beef in the hands of four transnational conglomerates. Competitive markets have been reduced down to one and that remaining market has been grossly distorted by government involvement.

If this all sounds dire, it is. And both Republicans and Democrats are to blame. We expect Democrats to be anti-American, but it’s inexcusable for Republicans to claim to be representing We the People while at the same time working against our interests. Dr Karlyn Borysenko is one of the foremost experts when it comes to Critical Race Theory, and she took to Twitter today to call out Conservatives like Matt Walsh and The Daily Wire for caring more about trolling AOC than actually fixing a serious problem like Critical Race Theory in schools.

Here’s her Twitter thread calling out Walsh and The Daily Wire for their stunt:

You know, the whole Matt Walsh thing is just so indicative of what conservatives want.

They want people who will make their most hated politicians look foolish, even if they change no minds or convince anyone of anything.

That’s it. That’s all they care about.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard of conservatives influencers being offered a chance to actually DO something…and they refuse.
You guys are DMing me names right now…”Karlyn have you reached out to this person or that person, they’ll help”….and every single one of the names is a grifter that knows full well about the case and won’t do anything.

They know that all their followers care about is them whispering the same sweet nothing talking points in their ear, and being outraged by the right subjects and screaming about AOC being a liar….that’s all their followers want.

They show this with their actions.

If you don’t want to support people who are actually solving problems, then don’t be surprised when you have the same ones year after year after year.

But you’ll hear Matt Walsh complaining about them on his show, so I guess it’s ok.

BTW, AOC is going to win year after year after year. She’ll win as long as she wants to.

And Matt Walsh will love it because that will give him years of complaining and pranks where he doesn’t change a single person’s mind or accomplish anything of substance.

She then followed up with the damning indictment against Conservatives:

“I’m actually starting to become completely convinced that conservatives WANT critical race theory in schools because it will give them an excuse to complain about socialism all the time.”

This is a serious problem within the Conservative Movement. What gets you clicks and video views is to “destroy the libs.” That’s what has made Charlie Kirk and Ben Shapiro famous. However, just as my good friend Dr Bobby Lopez has repeatedly stated, these trollers of the Left aren’t actually fixing any problems. They are just building up their brands.

Well hey, no reason we can’t do both, right? Troll the libtards; deride them, laugh at them, bait them; humiliate and/or annoy them; all while we go on jousting with them over specific, ground-level issues as well?

Meh. At this point, it’s all just dicking around while we wait for the shooting to start. “Fighting” against CRT, lawsuits, protests and rallies, and all the rest only amount to busywork as far as I’m concerned—something to occupy us before it all goes pear-shaped. The author closes thusly:

So instead of dropping $499 to troll AOC, why not put your money where your mouth is and support a cause that can actually create a positive change in our society. Everyone is talking a great game when it comes to CRT, but where’s the follow through?

“Positive change in our society” won’t be created until some indeterminate number of pAntiFas, Black Lies Murder goons, and other traitorous miscreants both high and low have assumed room temperature due to their CLDS (Chronic Lead Deficiency Syndrome) being corrected. Nothing else is going to be sufficient, sad as it is to have to say. It’s the only “follow through” that matters. Until such time, it’s all just entertainment, nothing more.
