The feel-good video of the century

Is the Rebellion too late? Or just in the nick of time?

In my favorite video, perhaps ever, a group of Buffalo-area New York business owners stood up to the unelected Erie County Health Department and Sheriff’s officers who came to shut down their meeting to plan how to survive the latest shutdown of “non-essential” businesses at a local gym, Athletes Unleashed.

Local state governments all over the United States have been dictating to small businesses how they can be open or if they can be open at all while allowing Walmart and Target to operate unmolested through the entire coronavirus pandemic. As a result, Walmart and other corporate businesses are making record profits while mom-and-pop shops go belly-up under the heavy weight of unfair regulations from unelected health officials who aren’t accountable to the people.

The people of Orchard Park, New York, have had enough and have finally done what I have been saying should have been done from the beginning. Tell the government to get the hell off your private property and to go get a signed warrant from a judge if they want to shut you down: then you can fight them in court. But simply obeying unconstitutional restrictions on liberty should no longer be an option.

It never WAS an option. “Fighting them in court”? Sorry, but that ain’t gonna be near enough either.

Study after study has shown that lockdowns hurt more people than they help and do not completely stop the spread of the highly contagious virus. If the grocery store can operate, so can a gym or a hair salon. It’s beyond time for a real movement of mass disobedience. Imagine ordering people to stop exercising for their “health!” It’s beyond absurd to close gyms and keep McDonald’s open because of a health crisis and it’s time for this idiocy to stop.

It’s time for the people to take their lives back. These business owners in Orchard Park did it exactly right. Watch this and be inspired. This makes me proud to be an American where we still have the greatest document on earth protecting us from tyranny if we would only use it.

Bless dear ol’ Megan’s heart, she nailed it one. As I’ve said so many times myself: the Constitution—brilliantly conceived as it most certainly is, a damned near flawless blueprint for proper governance, bequeathed to us by giants among mortal men—is nonetheless no more than words on paper in the end. Words require a lot of real-world backup if they’re ever to be anything more than mere ideas, ambitions, or pipe-dreams. They require reinforcement by a righteous, stout-hearted citizenry unswervingly committed to the cause of liberty to retain any meaning at all. The words can outlive the commitment by not a single moment; when the one thirsts, the other wilts.

Not only did the people kick the officers and the inspector out of the gym, but they walked them all the way off the private property. Well done. Stand up for your rights as a business owner and an American. No officer of the law or government agent has any business on your property without a warrant. Make copies of the Constitution available and post a sign that says, “Unless you want to buy something, law enforcement is not allowed on private property without a warrant. Take a pocket Constitution with you as you leave.”

Fuckin’ A right. It’s dismaying, frightening even, that such elemental concepts—the very foundation of our once-proud Republic, no less—have come to sound so radical, even extreme, to modern ears.

Thanks

An open letter to Trump, from Sundance.

Thank you President Donald Trump, today I voted for you.

Thank you for providing me, us, my friends and family, an opportunity to vote for a person who relentlessly and tirelessly has worked for all of us.

Thank you (for) putting on that bullet-proof vest, working and campaigning on behalf of all Americans.

Thank you to First Lady Melania Trump for giving up the privacy of a very comfortable life to support you, help us, and represent our nation with class and impeccable distinction.

Long ago we accepted the geography of this battle. We knew the campaign and presidency was going to get ugly on many levels. You knew it too – yet, you did it anyway.

You have confronted a body of globalist political elites both at home and abroad. We know there are trillions of dollars at stake, and significant power over world events hanging in the balance. We knew you would be attacked. You knew it too – yet, you did it anyway.

As a nation we are not disconnected from fully comprehending the issues at hand. Most are fully aware of the fraud, scheme, manipulative lying and corrupt propaganda inbound from every entity who holds a vested interest in your elimination.

You knew that too – yet, you stepped-up anyway.

We fully understand the scope of media hatred perpetuating a fraud which is occurring on a grand scale. We are well versed in the machinations and schemes of the interests you have faced. We are aware and clear eyed to the hate expressed by your opposition. You knew that would come too – yet, you did it anyway.

We refined our understanding based on prior years of confrontation; essentially training ourselves amid the various battlefields controlled by the very powers established to see your removal. The swamp is vile. You knew that – yet, you did it anyway.

And should Trump somehow lose this thing, it will establish clearly that not merely an election but America That Was itself is indeed lost. In fact, it’s probably been gone for a good bit longer than some of us may have realized. Not that that realization, painful as it is, calls for a lapse into despair, mind. But it DOES strongly suggest the necessity of a redirection, a course correction, in terms of vision, ambition, and action.

In the end, no matter which way the election goes, it still comes down to the same thing. Really, it probably always will.

trump_inthe_way_meme.jpg

Yep. And apres Trump, le deluge.

You go, girl!

Say what you will about Candace Owens—and certainly, a good many alt-Right types out there don’t seem to care for her much, for whatever reason—but this Fauxvid-hoax slam is nothing but pure gold:

Candace Owens: ‘If you believe that government can stop a virus, then you are an idiot’
Conservative activist, author, and BLEXIT founder Candace Owens is blasting out some final warnings to last-minute voters and she is as blunt as ever in her choice of words.

Owens took to Twitter to tell her nearly three million followers that without social distancing from socialism, totalitarianism is the end game. The authoritarian leanings of mostly Democrat governors and other elected officials are laying the groundwork for a reversal of the country’s traditional free-market system.

“At this moment, our governments are telling us when to open our businesses, when to see our family, and when and how we are allowed to BREATHE. This is NOT America. This is not FREEDOM. This is NOT about safety or a virus. This is about implementing SOCIALISM. Wake up,” she wrote.

PREACH it, sister. Lots more in that same vein at the link, every word of it a gem as far as I’m concerned.

Update! BE SAAAAAFE!!!!

CDC says cruises are allowed to set sail again … but passengers are not allowed on board

Because SCIENCE™.

Death never sleeps

The Reaper stalks Cadaver Joe.

While Joe Biden has been handling a light schedule of morning campaign stops and basement naps, his campaign bus has been driving throughout the southern US.

In Houston, one Trump supporter decided to troll the Biden team by driving a hilariously decked-out hearse behind the bus with MAGA-approved branding.

The majestic vehicle has some generic Trump 2020 decals, but it’s the other messages on this baby that takes it to that next level of trollery. Here are a few of them:

  • “Collecting Democrat votes one dead stiff at a time.”
  • “Dig ’em Deeper, Bury ’em Cheaper Funeral Parlor”
  • “Clinton Foundation Suicide Limo Service – 1-800-HANG-URSELF”
  • “Official Democrat Cemetery Vote Collector”

At every campaign stop Gropey’s Griftermobile makes, the hearse stops close by and sets up a display featuring an open casket—which ones imagines is beginning to look downright inviting to Cadaver Joe at this stage of his self-inflicted ordeal—along with a big sign admonishing, “Don’t forget 10% percent for the Big Guy.” According to the article, the Griftermobile has even resorted to blowing through redlights in a desperate attempt to ditch their tail, apparently with no joy so far.

Yes, there are pictures and video included, and they’re hilarious. But they’re embedded in Tweets, which I’m trying to stay away from posting as much as I possibly can from here on out, just on principle. Anyways.

The driver of the hearse indicated that local law enforcement had shown support for the hilarious display.

“Been getting thumbs up from all the cops around here,” said the man. “At least we know we got their support. Even though they can’t say nothing, they still support us.”

At the time of publishing, the Biden bus had reportedly pulled away from their campaign stop after no supporters showed up. The hearse team seemed to be in hot pursuit. We look forward to updating you on any further hilarious developments.

No wonder poor Gropey seems kinda jumpy and out of sorts of late. Or more so than usual, let’s say.

Rebranding: sieze the initiative

A vintage but truly evergreen Van der Leun post I missed when it first appeared back in 2010, found now via WRSA.

I don’t know about you, but I do not consider myself either a “Conservative” or a “Republican” or a member of the “Alt-Right.” Never have. Never will. I consider myself to be one thing and one thing only:

I AM AN AMERICAN.

Always have been.

Always will be.

Nothing less.

Couldn’t be anything more.

Born and bred from ancestors that go back to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1636.

To call me a Conservative is to miss the point.

To call me a Republican is to mistake me by a mile.

To call me an AMERICAN is to know me down to the bone. I suspect this blunt fact is true of all those who term themselves “Independents,” all those who call themselves “Conservative,” all those who joined the Tea Party, and the Trumpening; they and all the others who,

Came from the hills and mountains,
The valleys and the plains,
Some were kind and gentle,
And some too wild to tame.

That’s who we are and that’s who we shall always remain — Americans.

A single, obvious, and overarching word to cover a wide, wide tent:

Americans.

Americans all regardless of race, color, creed, or national origin.

Let’s rebrand ourselves from this point forward. Let us go back to the original brand:

When you are called a Conservative, you reply, “No, I am an AMERICAN.”

If someone tries to tar you with the label “Republican,” you must correct them by saying, “No, I am an AMERICAN.”

If accused of being some sort of stealth fascist by being labeled “Alt-Right,” you need to sort those mental midgets out by reminding them, “No, I am an AMERICAN.”

If they say you are arguing from Republican or Conservative views, point out to them that you are arguing from AMERICAN views only.

Do that consistently and we can all look forward to future disputes and elections that pit the “Progressives” against the AMERICANS. I know which way I’d bet.

Powerful, powerful stuff, and I love it. It’s precisely what I was groping towards when I came up with that “Real American” formulation of mine not too long ago. But Gerard’s version is way better: simple, precise, to the point, and unassailable by anybody who isn’t—as our contemporary Enemies, Domestic™ blockheads are—actively ANTI-American.

Let the Progtards go on trying to conceal what they really are with their habitual redefining and rebranding. Meanwhile, we can reclaim something that was always our own anyway; tweak the living hell out of some perpetually out-of-joint noses; and restore a sense of righteous pride in the word and all it’s supposed to represent—all in one swift and hard rhetorical punch right in their pinched, sallow faces.

Stand by, and stand ready

As I always say: we could use a lot more like ’em.

The crucial moment in Tuesday night’s debate was near the end when Joe Biden invited President Trump to throw the Proud Boys under the bus, and the president refused to do it. The president was asked by moderator Chris Wallace “to condemn white supremacists and militia groups and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities as we saw in Kenosha and as we’ve seen in Portland.” Trump replied, “Sure, I’m willing to do that,” but then added that “almost everything I see” in terms of violence “is from the left-wing, not from the right-wing. I’m willing to do anything.… I want to see peace.”

After further back-and-forth, Trump said, “Give me a name,” and Biden said, “Proud Boys.” To this, Trump replied: “Proud Boys, stand back and stand by, but I’ll tell you what, somebody’s gotta do something about Antifa and the Left, because this is not a right-wing problem, this is a left-wing problem.”

Because I personally know both Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes and the group’s current chairman Enrique Tarrio, I was pleased by that response. The idea that the Proud Boys are a dangerous “white supremacist” organization is a myth created by the left-wing media, and it took courage for the president of the United States to stand tough in that moment.

The liberal media, of course, was scandalized, but who is rioting in Portland? Who attacked police and set up an “autonomous zone” in Seattle? Who has engaged in looting and arson in New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, and other major cities in the past several weeks? Hint: not the Proud Boys.

The Proud Boys, of course, were ecstatic over the president’s shout-out. They took the president’s words — “Stand back and stand by” — and incorporated it into their group’s logo. Oregon’s Democratic Gov. Kate Brown, who has allowed Antifa mobs to riot in Portland for months, took her cue to again denounce the Proud Boys as “white supremacists.” What Democrats don’t seem to understand is that there are millions of Americans who are sick and tired of being called racists, and these American voters know which party hates them. It’s Joe Biden’s party.

Dig that logo:

PB-stand-by-logo.jpeg

Say, that there would look most righteous on a black tee, would it not? Of course, the idea that the Proud Boys are anything resembling a “white supremacist” group is nothing but a bald-faced lie promulgated by manipulative propagandists.

It turns out not everybody believes the Proud Boys are white supremacists, including a prominent Black professor at a historically Black university.

Wilfred Reilly, associate professor of political science at Kentucky State University, said Wednesday that “the Proud Boys aren’t white supremacists,” describing the right-wing group’s beliefs as “Western chauvinist” and noting that their international chairman, Enrique Tarrio, is Black.

Mr. Reilly said that about 10% to 20% of Proud Boys activists are people of color, a diverse racial composition that is “extremely well-known in law enforcement,” based on his research.

“Enrique Tarrio, their overall leader, is a Black Cuban dude. The Proud Boys explicitly say they’re not racist,” Mr. Reilly told The Washington Times. “They are an openly right-leaning group and they’ll openly fight you — they don’t deny any of this — but saying they’re White supremacist: If you’re talking about a group of people more than 10% people of color and headed by an Afro-Latino guy, that doesn’t make sense.”

Facts, truth, and basic decency being of little use and no concern to Leftist scum the lies will continue, as the follow-up quotes included in the above article—shat forth from the cakeholes of putrescent pustules like Chuck Schemer and Cadaver Joe, among others—serve to confirm. But as quotes go, I like this one best:

“We’re a drinking club with a patriot problem,” Mr. Tarrio told CNN at a Sept. 26 rally in Portland. “As Proud Boys, I think our main objective is to defend the West.”

Preach it, brother. And bash on, until the last PantiFa pantywaist is just a pile of bloody goo lying unconscious in the gutter.

“Democrats don’t want you to see this”

I don’t live in Baltimore, so the sentiment ain’t worth a whole lot, I admit. But she’s got my vote.

You go, girl.

Hats off to Sundance

In our Donnybrook section, CF commenter Barry has called our attention more than once to Sundance’s somewhat-cryptic posts regarding the compilation of all his diligent labor to uncover evidence of the Obama/Comey/Brennan et al coup attempt against Trump into a sort of dossier that connected all the dots; his trip to DC to present said evidence to the DoJ, Congresscritters, and whoever else he could reach, in hopes of bestirring some, any, or all of them to take some sort of concrete action to see justice done; and most significantly, Sundance’s delivery of a firm deadline for said action, namely this Friday past, failing which he would go public with his voluminous dossier his own self.

So last week, after Sundance had made his appointed rounds in Mordor on the Potomac to present the case, it seems that somone in the AG’s office suddenly reached out to someone at Fox to request a call-in appearance for Barr on Hannity; the AG wished to make an announcement concerning “developments,” t’was said.

And he did. Not a momentous, earth-shattering thing, Barr cautioned everyone. But movement, a “development,” nonetheless, with more of them to come at an unspecified later date.

Then, on Friday, this happened:

WASHINGTON – A Former FBI attorney will plead guilty to making false statements in documents used to obtain a surveillance warrant against former Trump aide Carter Page, his lawyer told the Associated Press Friday.

The guilty plea from Kevin Clinesmith is the first legal action taken in an investigation led by John Durham, a U.S. attorney looking into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe and other intelligence-gathering activities related to the Trump campaign.

Clinesmith’s lawyer, Justin Shur, told the Associated Press that his client will plead guilty to a single false statements charge as part of a cooperation agreement with the government.

At 5 PM Friday, Sundance posted the above excerpt and link with this appended:

I am very well aware of events today.

Discretion is the better part of valor.

Tuesday.

WELL.

It appears to me that Sundance’s prodding has borne fruit, with more expected on Tuesday. A CTH commenter sums it up:

Anyone remember when some idiot someplace on the internet criticized SD as ‘some former clerk living in (redacted!)’? Well, that ‘former clerk’ spent nearly four years doing brilliant, extraordinarily deep research that produced iron clad, irrefutable, proof that every character we know not only participated in the coup, but SD proved and showed exactly what each character did.

First he showed all of us. And then, two weeks ago this guy, whom some loser on the internet once criticized as a ‘former clerk’, set out to present his irrefutable, iron clad proof of who the conspirators are and what each did, to people who might be able to use it to bring about justice. Think about that.

The guy (or gal, or people known as) Sundance decided to bring the evidence into the lions den. On his own dime and time. At his own personal risk.

He succeeded beyond all we could hope or dream for. He not only entered the lion’s den, he quelled all the guardians of the den and hand fed all the other lions his information. His proof was so iron clad, so persuasive, so irrefutable, that he got the attention and concern of the Attorney General of the United States so much so, that after years of obfuscation, double speak, and letting the conspirators get away with their crimes, the AG was forced to ask a TV news show to come on air, so he could make an ‘announcement’ to all of America.

Think how concerned, frightened perhaps, Bill Barr had to be to beg Hannity to come on air so he could make a “not so earth shattering” announcement.

And Sundance did all that without dropping Fat Man or Little Boy, which we know he’s keeping in reserve, just in case.

We stand and humbly thank and salute you, Sundance.

Indeed we do. I’ll go a bit further, actually: it’s my opinion that what Sundance has done here is nothing short of noble. He should be acknowledged far and wide as a truly great American, of a stripe we breed all too few of nowadays.

Think of it: he has provided us all with a sterling demonstration of a “petition for redress of grievances” the Founders recommended in the Constitution. He has shamed every self-proclaimed “professional journalist” in the entire country, the overwhelming majority of whom are no more than DNC PR flacks and stenographers. Over the course of four long years, he dug deep, unearthing scads of documents via FOIA requests that would otherwise have remained hidden, documents revealing the details of the Obama junta’s election-tampering and later coup attempt. He posted his findings as he obtained them at CTH, along with meticulously in-depth analysis explaining how all the countless pieces fit together, who the players were, and what it all added up to.

Then he set us another fine example, in a real-life Mr Smith Goes To Washington moment of a sort which American patriot James Stewart would have heartily approved: he went to Washington himself, to bring the treasonous malfeasance of too-powerful people and agencies into the light of day; to ensure that many gross wrongs committed against a duly-elected and blameless President were righted; to see that the voice of those millions of Trump voters very nearly disenfrachised by the rankest skullduggery and corruption would be heard, and heeded.
these efforts. I’d say that risk is now very serious indeed; I hope he’ll be very cagey and aware from here on out, keeping a constant, watchful eye on his own bodily security. Corrupt, omnipotent governments have quietly eliminated whistleblowers for far less than what he’s accomplished.

Many folks out there rightly say that Real Americans will never get a fair shake from Leftymedia, and so must buckle down and do the job themselves, building their own alternative outlets and institutions instead. Well, don’t look now, but Sundance just did exactly that. He duly petitioned the government for redress of grievances, demanded accountability from those who are supposed to be not our masters but our employees—an important distinction now almost entirely lost to the mists of distant history—and to all appearances, he got results.

The risk to himself personally was and will remain substantial; his courage, tenacity, and audacity are indisputable, and entirely admirable. I repeat: Sundance is a truly great American, and whichever way this ugly mess shakes out, my hat is most humbly off to him.

Tuesday update! News from Sundance.

After several -seemingly- purposeful delays, and some expressions of good faith which I am not sure are actually ‘good’ or ‘faithful’, we come to this moment approximately an hour from now. The media, who I have briefed on the material, have been released from any/all prior confidences. Additionally, I have released the name of the primary investigator (deep behind the Durham probe) to the same media. If those media voices do nothing, I will share who they are… until then, I grant them benefit of courage and patriotism.

It’s time to start asking some very hard questions…. but in order to do that, these voices first needed to know the material so those questions could be asked; hence, the exhaustive travel for in-depth briefings in multiple cities and states.

Nothing is supposition; everything is connected to deep and direct evidence of corruption that covers a variety of interests and numerous institutions.  The most adverse to sunlight are members of Mueller’s purposefully installed special counsel unit. After the Obama administration left office, Andrew Weissmann and crew took over. They did things that only Machiavellian thinkers could imagine. It will all come out; the question is when?

After another attempt to delay, I took a purposeful stance. Everyone reversed course and we are back on track.

Expect no help from the Senate; they were participants. Today’s released obfuscation and nonsense from the SSCI is evidence in that regard. The entire upper chamber is compromised; they know it, I know it, and a large part of the American electorate know it.

I dislike immensely not being able to just be the guy with a blog who outlines research material, provides the direct source information, and explains to people what is going on. Recent weeks/months have been challenging because when your goal is to extend benefit-of-doubt, you do not want to impede any truthful efforts. However, I have exhausted my ‘benefit-of-doubt‘ stash; I need to return to my original position: ‘THE TRUTH HAS NO AGENDA’.

So begins the worst/best phase of the Big Ugly.

Keep checking six, my friend. Constantly. More here, and here too.

Back to the future

If you build it correctly, it will work, to turn a phrase. Even a health care system.

More and more doctors across the country want to reduce costs and bring price transparency to the system. In 1997, anesthesiologist Keith Smith left his hospital job and opened the Surgery Center of Oklahoma (SCO) in Oklahoma City. “I wanted to see if markets could actually work in our convoluted health care system,” he told me. “I didn’t want to be an accessory to a crime anymore. Our mainstream system is criminal because of the way it fails to prioritize the care of patients.”

During his first week in business, Smith got a call from a woman needing a breast biopsy. She asked him how much the procedure would cost at his clinic. He had no idea—no one had ever asked before. Smith called his surgeon and the testing lab for a quote, calculated his own cost for the 20-minute procedure, and gave her the estimated price—which ended up being well within her deductible, and a fraction of the price she was given when she pressed a local hospital for an estimate. Smith and his team decided to bundle prices for all their procedures and then made the radical move of posting the full costs on their website.

Almost immediately, Oklahoma hospitals, insurance companies, and legislators went on the offensive and tried to shut down SCO. Insurance companies made it mandatory for consumers to meet their deductible with in-network providers: if they went out-of-network to get a service, their deductible would reset to zero for the year. This made SCO’s otherwise-affordable services cost-prohibitive for many patients with insurance. The center’s waiting room emptied.

But SCO quickly discovered other types of consumers, such as companies with self-funded health-insurance plans, as well as international patients. Employers with self-funded plans take on the financial risk of providing health-care benefits to their employees instead of paying premiums to health-insurance companies like Aetna or Anthem. Though it’s generally larger companies that self-insure—Wal Mart is a well-known example—high costs in health care are driving smaller companies, including those with as few as 50 employees, to move in this direction as well. Self-insured employers have incentives to keep costs down, even if it means flying their employees for out-of-state treatments.

When self-insured companies from across the country learned that procedures at SCO cost a fraction of the bill at most other medical institutions, they began offering their employees incentives to go there, including stipends, paid time off, and even covering the cost for a friend or family member to accompany them. SCO also saw an influx of customers from Canada and Europe. Though these patients had government-funded coverage, delays in treatment for urgent conditions led them to pay out of pocket for treatment at SCO.

GREAT quote coming right up:

“Some people say that health care is too important to leave to markets,” Smith says. “I say it’s too important to leave to government!” Without the pressures of the market, Smith is convinced that there is no accountability and no incentive for health-care providers to pay attention either to value or quality.

Annnnd bingo, we have a winnah! Good on ya, Doc. But isn’t it remarkable how such plain, obvious common sense can sound downright radical to modern ears—and how we find ourselves going back to first principles to re-engineer a humane, functional health care system that will doubtless end up closely resembling the one we had until the government stepped in to screw the old one up so horribly?

National chaos worsens

I repeat: hey, sure, why the hell not.

Fort Rucker in flames after Black Hawk Lives Matter protest
What began as a peaceful demonstration by Black Hawk pilots frustrated after years of being marginalized by Chinook pilots turned suddenly violent.

As crowds of aviators were shouting, “Justice for Igor Sikorsky!” a few broke away and began vandalizing CH-47s spray painting “Black Hawk Lives Matter!” on their fuselages. “That’s when it all hit the fan,” said an anonymous warrant officer who was used to remaining anonymous. Suddenly offended by the presence of fixed-wing aircraft and any design that deviated from the main rotor/tail rotor configuration, the swelling mob descended on Fort Rucker’s aviation museum toppling and burning anything with a propeller or more than one main rotor.

In an effort to deescalate the situation, the base commander, Lieutenant General Durkan, ordered military police to evacuate the museum until things cooled down. Almost immediately barricades were erected by angry Black Hawk pilots who began spray painting “AMPAB” and “F*** 31B” on the museum walls and displays that were still standing. Declaring the museum an independent country, the pilots called it the “Black Hawk Autonomous Landing Zone” and posted signs reading, “NO MP LZ.” The name was then changed to the “Black Hawk Organized Protest” or BHOP for short. In an effort to show solidarity and understanding, Captain Carpenter who is an Apache pilot, joined the crowd but was shortly beaten into a coma.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Cathy, a career CH-47 pilot, offered to shine the boots of a Black Hawk pilot and urged other CH-47 pilots to follow his example. His efforts were hampered when he realized that nobody in the army any longer wears boots that can be polished. Nevertheless, General Cathy maintained that his offer was sincere.

“This isn’t ending,” said Lieutenant King, “until everything that flies looks like a Black Hawk and every former Chinook driver buys us a beer whenever we walk into the officers’ club.”

Makes as much sense as anything else does these days.

Pinch me, I must be dreaming

Okay, I did NOT see this one coming.

Rob Lowe Stuns Conan O’Brien By Revealing Friendship With Justice Clarence Thomas

*vigorously shakes head, rubs eyes, pours stiff drink, downs it in one*

“Wait, you know him?” a seemingly surprised O’Brien responded, as reported by Fox News.

According to Lowe, the two met when he was inducted into the Horatio Alger Society a few years ago, prompting their friendship.

“I do know him. I got inducted into the Horatio Alger Society a couple years ago. … It’s a very exclusive, very amazing society that provides scholarships for kids who come from terrible, terrible backgrounds,” Lowe said. “But they are the best and the brightest in their classes. And the people in it are pretty studly. He’s one of them. That’s how we met. They put the medal on me in the halls of the Supreme Court.”

“Wow. Okay,” O’Brien said.

Lowe described Thomas as a generous man who even provided some helpful career advice to his own son.

“The reason I bring it up is he’s one of those people who occupies such a perception in people’s minds and he’s like, ‘If you ever need anything, call my number. This is my cell phone,’” Lowe said. “And then my son Matthew was going to law school. So I had some ideas about clerking and things like that.”

“So I call this cell phone and he answers it. And you’re like, ‘Geeze. Shouldn’t there be, like, a vetting process?’ And 45 minutes he’s giving me advice on what my son should do vis-a-vis law school and clerking,” he continued.

Though his political stance is murky at best, Rob Lowe has never conformed to the Hollywood leftist dictates that seek to ostracize conservatives from all of public life by dismissing their ideas and leaders as subhumans unworthy of debate or quarter. The Hollowverse characterized him as a liberal-leaning man that respects conservative views. For instance, he previously said, “Liberal politics is built on empathy. I think conservative politics, from my opinion, is built on logic.”

A tolerant, rational Hollywood liberal is unexpected. That he forged a friendly relationship with Clarence Thomas is surprising. That he would unapologetically admit to the friendship in a broadcast interview is extraordinary. That this person would turn out to be Rob Lowe vaults it on up into the realm of actual slackjawed, bug-eyed shock. Kudos to the man. He provided me a rare opportunity to dust off an old post category of mine for the first time in I can’t even remember when.

Accept no substitutes!

Please, please, please, PLEAAAASE make this happen.

PLEASE.

Amid the protests taking place in the wake of George Floyd’s death while in police custody, some long-standing statues are not fairing very well. Now, a new petition calls for a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee in Richmond, Virginia, to be replaced with one of late GWAR leader Oderus Urungus.

As Metal Injection reports, onetime GWAR dancer / backup vocalist Slymenstra Hymen (aka Danielle Stampe) posted a Photoshopped image of Oderus in place of Robert E. Lee’s statue in Richmond. Shortly thereafter, a GWAR “scumdog” started a petition on Change.org calling for a statue of Oderus to be erected in place of the one of General Lee.

Oderus Urungus, real name Dave Brockie, was one of Richmond’s favorite sons, having started GWAR in the mid ’80s, and fronted the intergalactic metal barbarians until his death in 2014. The petition’s description argues for the statue swap as follows:

“Robert E. Lee is a failed war general that supported a racist cause. For too long, the city of Richmond has been displaying statues of him and other loser civil war veterans.

We the scumdogs of the universe call on the city of Richmond to erect a statue of great local leader Oderus Urungus in its place. While Oderus comes from the planet Scumdogia, he called Richmond his home, working with the local art community and employing local artists and ladies of the night.”

Why yes, as it happens I DO have an up-close-and-personal-encounter story featuring Miss Hymen, who as it turns out is actually a very cool and likeable person. But I’ll save that one for another day, and direct you instead to the place where you can sign the petition endorsing this most worthy of causes.

Oh, and is there a picture? You just bet there is.

If the sainted General Lee really must go, then the citizens of my nation’s Capitol should be proud indeed to host such a noble work of statuary art in his stead, I believe.

That’s how you do it

Aesop, after posting several items pointing out the potential pitfalls of the VCDL’s upcoming Richmond rally, has a better idea.

1000 brainless yahoos fapping in the park at the statehouse are a juicy target for the leftards, the media, and the minions of jackbooted thuggery. And the dimmest bulbs among your ranks are target-locked on being the meal in that particular shark feeding frenzy. Why is a mystery, unless arsenic in your wells, a pandemic of fetal alcohol syndrome, and a steady juvenile diet of lead paint chips. Just stop. The question of why you shouldn’t do that has been asked and answered here times beyond counting.

But 500 or 1000 folks at the county meeting or sheriff’s office is a voting bloc that won’t be ignored. Because how in hell did all y’all get those 2A sanctuary votes pushed through? Hmmm???

So how about leading with your strength, instead of your chin for a change?

Dear Sheriff Dawg,
We, the citizens of Bugtussle County, respectfully require that you come up with a plan to deputize auxiliary deputies, to prevent or oppose any unconstitutional enforcement actions in Bugtussle County, effective ASAP.  – signed, 500 registered voters

If he does it, you’ve just grown fangs for liberty teeth. If not, you’ve identified that he was just paying lip service, and needs to go in the next election, if not sooner.

That sounds like it might be pretty danged effective to me. He goes on to lay out several more along those lines, then mentions the benefits, including:

The fact that you’ll also provide a ready manpower pool of demonstrated competence for helping your friends and neighbors with wee problems like hurricanes, blizzards, tornadoes, floods, fire, and other emergencies, is merely a happy side benefit.

Long before this, Gov. Blackface Babykiller and his idiot minions in the legislature are going to be crapping their pants, and falling all over themselves to back water on their jackassical antigun plans.

And you’ll have the framework of a fearsome political machine to get out the vote and spank them out of town at the next election opportunity (hot tar and chicken feathers optional, but heartily recommended.)

But just to be safe, your auxiliary and the sheriff should release information to the effect that any attempt to decapitate your leadership, by sequestration, detention, or arrest of TPTB, will constitute a de facto automatic call-up of the entire force, until further notice, and no stand-down will happen until the sheriff and the people of the county agree to it mutually and publicly.

Mess with one of us, mess with all of us.

I like it. It ought to be tried; it just might be last thing standing between us and genuine catastrophe, one from which we may well never recover. Surely we owe it to ourselves to find out.

NOTE: In order to comment, you must be registered and approved as a CF user. Since so many user-registrations are attempted by spam-bots for their own nefarious purposes, YOUR REGISTRATION MAY BE ERRONEOUSLY DENIED.

If you are in fact a legit hooman bean desirous of registering yourself a CF user name so as to be able to comment only to find yourself caught up as collateral damage in one of my irregularly (un)scheduled sweeps for hinky registration attempts, please shoot me a kite at the email addy over in the right sidebar and let me know so’s I can get ya fixed up manually.

ALSO NOTE: You MUST use a valid, legit email address in order to successfully register, the new anti-spam software I installed last night requires it. My thanks to Barry for all his help sorting this mess out last night.

Comments appear entirely at the whim of the guy who pays the bills for this site and may be deleted, ridiculed, maliciously edited for purposes of mockery, or otherwise pissed over as he in his capricious fancy sees fit. The CF comments section is pretty free-form and rough and tumble; tolerance level for rowdiness and misbehavior is fairly high here, but is NOT without limit.

Management is under no obligation whatever to allow the comments section to be taken over and ruined by trolls, Leftists, and/or other oxygen thieves, and will take any measures deemed necessary to prevent such. Conduct yourself with the merest modicum of decorum, courtesy, and respect and you'll be fine. Pick pointless squabbles with other commenters, fling provocative personal insults, issue threats, or annoy the host (me) and...you won't.

Should you find yourself sanctioned after running afoul of the CF comments policy as stated and feel you have been wronged, please download and complete the Butthurt Report form below in quadruplicate; retain one copy for your personal records and send the others to the email address posted in the right sidebar.

Please refrain from whining, sniveling, and/or bursting into tears and waving your chubby fists around in frustrated rage, lest you suffer an aneurysm or stroke unnecessarily. Your completed form will be reviewed and your complaint addressed whenever management feels like getting around to it. Thank you.

When my children are my age, they will not be free in any recognizably traditional American meaning of the word. I’d tell them to emigrate, but there’s nowhere left to go.
