A-feuding we will go

Although I do still like DeSantis, I wholeheartedly agree with Trump on this one.

Fresh off of the backlash for calling Florida Governor Ron DeSantis “Ron DeSanctimonious,” Donald Trump doubled down on stupid by warning DeSantis that if he runs for president in 2024, he will dish dirt on him.

In an interview with Fox News Digital after his Monday night rally in Ohio, Trump said that even though there is no “tiff” with Ron Desantis, he would be making a “mistake” by running in 2024.

“I don’t know if he is running. I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly. I really believe he could hurt himself badly,” Trump said. “I think he would be making a mistake, I think the base would not like it — I don’t think it would be good for the party.”

“Any of that stuff is not good — you have other people that possibly will run, I guess,” Trump added. “I don’t know if he runs. If he runs, he runs.”

Then Trump said that if DeSantis does decide to run, “I would tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering — I know more about him than anybody — other than, perhaps, his wife.”

Make no mistake about it, Trump feels entitled to the 2024 GOP nomination, and Ron DeSantis is the biggest threat to Trump winning the nomination, should both men run. So far, DeSantis has not indicated that he will run for president in 2024; clearly, Trump doesn’t want him to. Maybe DeSantis won’t; that’s his decision, but he certainly isn’t talking about 2024 while he’s running for reelection in 2022.

As I’ve said lots of times already, even going so far as to email the lovely, gracious, and extremely talented Christina Pushaw about it not long ago, I fervently hope DeSantis foregoes a Presidential run in 2024 myself. We need him right where he is now, so’s those of us on Team Liberty will have a viable place to flee to when everything goes pear-shaped on us, as it surely must.

  1. 99:1, Trump is going to run.
He doesn’t suggest to me the kind of guy to sit the next one out.
And he’s been crushing rallies for the last two years.
The minute he announces, the national referendum on Emperor Stumblefuck Poopypants begins in earnest.
He’s going to run, if only to rub the entire country’s nose in what happened in 2020, good and hard.
And because he’s the only one who can.

You don’t run two guys from FL in an election, and ticket-balancing is still a thing.

DeSantis is young enough that he should be positioning himself for a run in 2028.
If we still even have a country then.

  2. Trump is running and if he is running he runs to win.

Plus, if DeSantis has some skeletons its a certainty that more than just Trump knows about them.

Can you imagine if Jeb only faced milquetoast Cruz in 2016, who owed his political career to a start in the W Bush campaigns, and Trump didn’t slam him.

It’s a certainty that Jeb as the Nominee WOULD be slammed by the Crooked Campaign and Jeb would have lost.

I’m still suspicious of RDS, but if he is the real deal, I see him being in Florida as Governor for 4 years. 2024 is going to tell us if we have a Nation any longer. We obviously don’t have a Republic or even a Democracy now. So why should one of our better Governors be a sacrificial lamb and a year from now FL is run by someone else. Perhaps a less competent someone else. Does anyone know about the Lt Gov there?

  3. I agree with y’all to some degree. However, DeSantis is going to run because that’s what Wall Street has told him to do. They learned from Jeb what will not work. They think it only requires big $$$.

I’ve known Trump was going to run for ever. OTOH, after last night he may just decide it’s not worth it, that we cannot be saved by hard work and good policy at the presidential level. And then there is the simple fact:

    They stole 2020 from him.
    They stole the midterms.
    They will steal 2024, guaranteed.

They is the republican and democrat party.

I’d advise him to tell us to shove it, find another patsy.

Because, after last night, they no longer fear just killing him if needed. We’re not going to do a damn thing about it.

I’ve been saying the same thing since 2016. In fact, I have to confess to being a bit surprised there weren’t a long succession of assassination attempts against him throughout his entire Presidency. If I was him, I’d be laid out on a nice beach on my own private island somewhere, drinking Pina Coladas and ogling Melania as she waded buck-nekkid in the surf.

      1. I have always thought the reason they haven’t assassinated Trump is they feared what we would do. I think that fear is gone.

But we’ll see. He’s a brave man IMO and I think he’ll ignore my advice and run anyway 🙂

        1. And the minute he announces, DeSantis’ chances (and those of any other GOP candidate that’s not a sideshow freak) drop like a stone, and he’s a marked man by both parties.

The guiding principle for would-be nominees in 2024 is going to be “Let the Wookie win.”

Otherwise, he’ll pull your arms off, and you’ll be a cripple heading into the general election.

          1. I agree. DeSantis cannot beat Trump in the R primary, which is why I have said all along the R party will refuse to allow Trump to run and they’ll claim it’s because he’s been indicted for a felony crime.

That’s the R plan IMO. And the asshole DeSantis is in on it.

            1. And, that will be the end of the R party. Which is why it may not happen. They are gauging the ability now.

            2. His silence on the MAL Raid in his own State is deafening.

Notice how that story disappeared almost as fast as Paul Pelosi’s Underwear Tango Tale?

              1. Yep. I said at the time that his tepid one sentence boilerplate was pathetic and told me one thing –
he was in on it, he knew it was coming. And then he skipped out for nearly a week, hiding.
