As the majority of y’all know, despite the ‘slings and arrows of outrageous and egregious bullshtein that’s gone on recently, (Bogus CPS reports/Attempted Car theft and the like)  we’ve managed some how to keep Ye Olde Nuggets ABOVE the fray, and Charlie Miked rather well.  That being said that the week before last, Gretchen was having some back issues… normal stuff… pain and whatnot as well… with me at work, the Primary “Heavy Lifter” is G for the Dooney…

Who is now almost 34 pounds and 36 inches long at 9 months of age.

That’s a BIG sumbitch for 9 months Aye?

And nope… no pituitary issues…  they tested… just normal growth.

FML.  For funsies I loaded ALL of the Dooney’s respective physical statistics into am AI which came back and told me to expect FINAL sizer for him to be at the minimum 6 foot 7/320 pounds at a minimum as stated before.  I’m not raising a kid, I’m raising a fucking future Warbeast.  By the time he hits 18 months, he’ll be able to work on and be part of a crew served weapon…

So anyways… I now have a really serious respect for parents dealing with developmentally disabled kids… I.E. a real four-year-old who can’t walk/talk/take care of nor assist in their own upbringing… The Dooney is NORMAL but OMG… the amount of physical effort that goes into moving him around and hefting his big ass all over the place?  How some folks have to do it?  My blessings/prayers and respect to them…

Anyways… G had some back issues… It’s expected.
Hefting a big ole hamhocked bag o’cuteness around wears out a 56 year old female, never mind MY 57 year old broke-dick self….

Either way, by Monday, she’d had enough and went to the ER as her back was literally so bad she needed something to help.
Turns out, it wasn’t a back strain, she had a BAD kidney infection.
So they put her on some new antibiotic…  I’ll refrain from mentioning it as there could be issues, BUT
It didn’t react well…  LOTS of allergy type reactions, in particularly her eyes.  Now for those of you who’ve been riding the BCE ‘train’ over the years, you may/may not recall that she had a collapsed retina and surgery to correct said collapse… personally I always thought that the dot-Indian (not feather-Indian) who performed the surgery might have bollixed it up, as even post-surgery, she still lost all sight in the eye, and man, she’s had issues ever since… either way…

By Wednesday, she stopped taking the new Anti-Bios, and her eyes looked like shit.  Puffy… swollen… MAD allergy-looking if you know what I mean…  We discussed it, and we decided we’d see how she felt by Friday……..

Thursday Night:  The new job training had worn me out so badly as for me to be ‘mentally hollow’…. what little brains I had left were mashed taters AT BEST.  I had gotten myself an eight pack of 16oz beers (the first I’ve had in months) and was chilling.  G came out and said her eyes were really hurting, so I aquienced and we laid some lidocaine on the area, and that seemed to alleviate the issue….

At Midnight as I was wrapping up ‘things’ she came out and said “I’m not feeling very well… my arm hurts….” I also saw that her mouth was drooping and her right eye looked like I had hit her with two left hooks it was so swollen…  needless to say, I called 9-11 Right Fucking There and Right Fucking Then.  As an aside, you have to understand, with my background and training and abilities, generally 9-11 is ONLY reserved for IF you’re bleeding out from the eyeballs or asshole…. I hate the concept of wasting resources…  however, in this case?  Oh yeah… my bitch was having a stroke and I knew it.

What’s HILARIOUS was BECAUSE it was MY house and such, not only did ONE ambulance show, but also my boys, Deputy “Jimmy” as well as another deputy, and a Fire Truck…. Calls to Big Country’s house are apparently a potential Mass Casualty event it would appear….  Everyone was GREAT… the medics eval’d G, and immediately got her on the bus ASAP.  The moved her to the local hospital, which performed the “Stroke Protocol” (drugs and scans and etc) and then, after the Brain SCan they went “NOPE!”  This needs to be addressed by Tampa General!”

They then reloaded her on ANOTHER ambulance and raced her over to Tampa General.  Once they evaluated her there, they said that they were going to set up an emergency surgery at USF.  Seems she got seen and worked on by the premiere eye docs at USF Health Tyson-Martin Eye Institute.  It’s the latest and greatest Eye Docs, and HIGHLY rated… like world class rated…

Now INTERESTING PISS ME OFF SIDE NOTE:
-I- had to UBER her over there as the insurance said that she’d used up her ‘ambulance/MEDEVAC allowance’

She got to the USF Clinic… and they were LITERALLY waiting for her.
Reason being?
The clot or growth or whatever the fuck it was/is was ON her right eye’s optic nerve INSIDE her nugget, and causing EXTREME pressure on both her eye, as well as…. wel everything.  The fear was that IF they went in using NORMAL procedures, the clot might break loose and cause a metric MOAR fucktom of damage(s).  Because of this, they sent in the “Eyeball/Clot A-Team”.
Instead of cracking open her casaba (as they would have even two years ago), they went in (from what I can tell… lots of techno-med babble told to me that (surprisingly!) I’m completely ignorant about…)  That being said, they apparently inserted two micro-fibre optics in through her tear ducts.  One was a camera, the other a laser.  They then toasted up the clot/whathaveyou and G said she LITERALLY felt the relief as soon as they zapped it… she said that there was a ‘sound’ she L:ITERALLY heard in and through her head that sounded like a rubber band breaking, and immediately after, the pressure went away….

Damn!!!

It was Carl Trueman who introduced me to the idea of a deathwork, though the concept is Philip Rieff’s. According to Rieff, a deathwork is an assault on something that is hallowed to an established culture. It isn’t a critique or argument that the culture is untrue, but a means of profaning something that is sacred in order to make it seem ridiculous or repulsive. Trueman summarizes it as “the act of using the sacred symbols of a previous era in order to subvert, and then destroy, their original significance and purpose.”

In The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self, Trueman uses the example of Andres Serrano’s repulsive 1987 photograph Piss Christ, which displayed a crucifix immersed in the artist’s urine. He says, “Serrano is not simply mocking the sacred order in this work of art; he has turned it into something dirty, disgusting, and vile… The sacramental is made into the excremental.” By putting a crucifix in urine, Serrano makes the holy an object of mockery.

In a later article at First Things, Trueman extends the category to priests who wear the LGBTQ rainbow when carrying out their liturgical duties. To do so is to use a symbol that is sacred, in this case the rainbow, and profane it. “Such actions are deathworks, the willing subversion of the sacred in the service of the profane. The priests and ministers who perform them are simply helping the church become just like our world: a place where the sacred symbols that give church life meaning are degraded and parodied until nothing but chaos remains, and the things intended to remind Christians of God’s faithfulness become objects of ridicule.” He returns to deathworks in his recent The Desecration of Man and says, “Often deathworks will subversively use the idioms or the symbols of something once considered sacred to destroy any notion of the sacred.”

And that brings me to the forthcoming film adaptations of C.S. Lewis’s Narnia books. These films are being adapted and directed by Greta Gerwig, who established her directorial credentials with hits like Lady Bird, Little Women, and Barbie. The first of them, The Magician’s Nephew, is expected to arrive in theaters in early 2027 and land on Netflix shortly thereafter. For several months, we heard rumors that Aslan might be voiced by a woman, and sure enough, in a preview of a feature for Empire magazine, Gerwig confirmed the role has gone to Meryl Streep. We also learned that Gerwig was inspired by David Bowie, “both for the look of Aslan (who has multicolored eyes and a red-striped face in this version) as well as the essence of the movie, according to Gerwig. She described wanting the movie to be ‘big and transporting’ and feel like a ‘rock opera.’” The early images show Aslan with not merely a stripe on his face and different-colored eyes, but rainbow coloring as well.

Not surprisingly, Narnia lovers and purists were dismayed by this gender-bending of Aslan, and with Gerwig’s tampering with a beloved character and story. Samuel James argues that it is essential to the character of Aslan that his voice evokes a father; Pierce Taylor Hibbs explains that Aslan must be male because Aslan’s maleness is essential to the story Lewis wrote; Anne Kennedy says Gerwig “is taking a thing of sublime beauty that opens a door of the soul for Christ to step through to heal and restore what is broken and wrong” and says Gerwig herself is the one desecrating it.

“Not surprisingly” being the operative turn of phrase here, of course. At this late stage of the game, nobody can credibly claim to be the least bit surprised at anything they say and/or do.

So when my husband turned 40 this spring, I splurged on something we’d always talked about: a private Japanese dinner, cooked by a real chef right in our own kitchen.

Chef Hiro arrived with a knife roll that probably cost more than my car payment. But what caught my eye was something else: tucked in next to the knives, he’d brought his own cutting board.

I laughed and told him we owned cutting boards — he really didn’t have to pack one. He smiled politely and kept setting up. Later, while he was prepping, I asked him about it.

Instead of answering, he picked up my cutting board — the white plastic one from Target I’d been using for about 18 months — and held it up under the kitchen light.

“Do you see all these scratches?” he asked, running his thumb across the deep grooves and knife marks. “That’s plastic your knife shaved off the board. So where do you think it all went?”

I just stared at him.

“It went into the food,” he said, setting it back down. “I stopped cutting on plastic years ago. Most chefs I know back home have too.”

I laughed it off in the moment. But that night, after the kids were in bed, I couldn’t stop thinking about it — so I started googling. Within ten minutes I found a university study that literally made me sick to my stomach.

The average person swallows up to 50 grams of microplastics from their cutting board every year.

That’s roughly the weight of ten credit cards — tiny, invisible plastic particles getting ground straight into your food every time you slice, dice, or chop. And I had been doing exactly that on the same plastic board for years, mindlessly serving it to my family.

Believe it or leave it, things only get worserer and worserer from there. From what I’ve read over the years, wooden boards have their issues also; in fact, I suspect that one way or another, there are always gonna be perfectly valid objections to any cutting-board material you can think of, up to and likely including stainless steel. But I washed my hands (in a manner of speaking—heh) of the plastic ones years and years ago, and have no plans to go back to ’em.

Who knew Canada could get so interesting? I am enjoying the hell out of this every day, as one flailing socialist after another trumpets his superior virtue, while the economy withers and dies and everyone with mettle and energy leaves. Plus it’s creating some awesome awesome humour.

I am trying to understand and explain why 70% of Canadians support Mark Carney. Essentially, 60% of us depend on the government for our living, and the rest, the 30% will expire, their businesses, income and revenue will drop, if the Trump tariffs take effect. Which means that the Liberal Party of Canada has broken the country so thoroughly, that without the massive subsidy from the States of 10% of our GDP a year – to include our $50 billion trade deficit with the U.S., our 25-50% tariffs on U.S. goods coming in, and 2% of our annual GDP spent on defense.

We cannot do it. We will die. We cannot exist without American largesse. We have destroyed our economy so thoroughly we are beggars.

Our GDP will drop (to) 0% and we will be in a deep deep depression.

Which may be the only thing to wake us up.

No civilians are ‘ordinary’ in Israel
If you’ve heard any of the many interviews of Bibi Netanyahu after a radicalized Muslim pilot attempted to hijack a plane, you couldn’t have missed his comment that an “ordinary plumber”—that would be Yaniv Hayoun—had grabbed the co-pilot who had stabbed the captain of the plane and subdued him.

As soon as the bleeding captain unlocked the cockpit door, others joined the rescue, saving over 170 passengers. What shocked me was how Bibi characterized those who jumped in to help. He kept calling them “ordinary citizens.” Seriously?

Those heroic men were anything but ordinary. What the prime minister didn’t mention was that probably most, if not all, of them had been trained in Israel’s outstanding military: the Israel Defense Forces.

In Israel, military service is mandatory for most men and women. Although only a small number serve in special forces, most serve in the reserves after their mandatory service ends, a duty that can continue until about age 40. These periods of service take them away from their jobs and families. Although active-duty forces are around 170,000, the reserve pool is about 465,000 and was severely taxed during the Gaza War.

The point is that these men and women are far from ordinary citizens. They understand that their service is vital to Israel’s existence. Whether we are discussing Lebanon and Hezbollah, or Hamas in Gaza; whether the focus is destroying nuclear plants in Syria or presenting a force of resilience and courage—Israel is a country to be reckoned with. No other country depends so completely on its military for its very survival.

S’truth. As for all the “not our ally” Shinola bubbling up from the (out-)gassier Reich-wing swampland districts, please permit me to crush that particular nasty, multi-legged crawly thing underfoot myself. Fact is, not only is Israel America’s ONE and ONLY reliable ally in the Mideast region, politically-speaking, they’re also doing us heap big favors militarily via taking much of the fight against Moslem terrorism upon themselves, stacking up squads, platoons, companies, battalions, and regiments’ worth of Hamas, Hezbollah, and/or ISIS pus-nutted-putrefactious deaders on their own initiative instead of just sitting idly back and letting us handle the light work for ‘em.

That being the case, and it damned sure is, then if Israel—a nation-state that punches well above its weight if ever there’s been one—feels the need to hit Uncle Sugar up for a squadron or three of pricey 5th-Generation fighter aircraft, high-tech battle rifles, class 4 body armor, and/or miscellaneous other bleeding-edge matériel…well, hey, that’s jake with me, I’ll take that deal six days a week and twice on Sundays.

AT&T CEO says Elon Musk’s SpaceX phone strategy not “viable”
Elon Musk’s plan to turn SpaceX into a major threat to the legacy telecom companies is “not a viable strategy,” AT&T CEO John Stankey tells Axios.

Why it matters: Musk and SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell recently touted their plan to turn the company’s Starlink satellite business into a global competitor to traditional phone-and-internet-service companies.

Driving the news: AT&T is betting on its strategy of deploying fiber infrastructure to boost its internet business at a time when AI is driving booming demand.

• The company on Tuesday announced a $3 billion deal with Corning to provide the infrastructure, saying fiber is three times faster than satellite.
• “Nothing beats it,” Stankey told Axios in an interview, adding that “satellite, at its best — if everything happens right over the next 10 years” — is “still not going to beat fiber.”

State of play: Starlink already competes with traditional telecom companies for home and business internet customers — and SpaceX is now talking about a mobile business that would put it in more direct competition with wireless carriers.

• “I anticipate us to be able to acquire quite a few of their customers because I think our service will be better,” Shotwell said in August on SpaceX’s first earnings call after going public.
• The shot across the bow caused shares to drop the next day for AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.

Could be Mr Stankey is correct, could be he ain’t. Certainly, his bluff, can-do positivity is the right stance for a CEO in his position to be taking. We’ll see how it all shakes out soon enough, I reckon.

Myself, I’m nothing like tech-savvy enough to offer a useful opinion on the matter way or another. That said, though, I think we’ve all seen enough of Mr Musk by now to know that betting against him is not usually the way you wanna be going. And that, laddie-buck, is about as far out on this particular limb as I’m willing to extend myself.

UK believes Iran involved in RAF Fairford incident, Burnham says
The government believes that Iran played a part in the RAF Fairford incident which resulted in five men being arrested and then bailed, Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said.

“There are strong indications that Iran played a part in what happened over the weekend at RAF Fairford,” he told the BBC. He did not provide further details.

Well, I mean, y’know, like, D’UH. Is there any sinister jihadi cookie-jar Iran DOESN’T have a hand—BOTH hands, s’cuse me—jammed deeply, inextricably into, all the way up to the elbows?

Iran has responded, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi saying the UK leader was “barking up the wrong tree”.

“I can confirm Iran’s belief that releasing supposed terrorists working for foreign states really says it all,” he wrote on social media.

Of course, the Iranians are perennial, irredeemable liars, but with that last bit I must admit he’s onto something.

Asked why the suspects had been released on bail – a decision which has been openly questioned by President Donald Trump – Burnham insisted the men were subject to the “strictest possible bail conditions”.

Another patent, transparent lie, establishing once again that the Persians do NOT have a corner on that market. As for Trump “openly questioning” the craven, incroyable decision by the UK to cut these malefactors loose on their own recognizance, more or less, the usual shitlib suspects will squeal like stuck pigs about it, but he’s absolutely right to do so.

“The authorities have this under the strongest grip and closest control, and I can assure you of that.”

More Countries Are Introducing Laws Targeting Religious Customs
Portugal has enacted a new law banning most face coverings in public, adding the country to a growing list of European nations that restrict garments such as the burka and niqab.

President António José Seguro signed the measure after it was adopted in Lisbon in July with support from a right-wing governing coalition, according to GB News.

Although frequently described as Portugal’s “burka law,” the legislation does not expressly single out Islam. Instead, it prohibits clothing intended to conceal or obstruct a person’s face in public.

Gotta love that “…Laws Targeting Religious Customs” scare-propagandizing, don’tcha? Don’t necessarily have to “expressly single out” Pisslam at this stage anyways; nobody’s gonna need to resort to any blind SWAG-work (ie, the venerable old Scientific Wild-Ass Guess) as to what’s being proscribed here, nor the reason for it. Leastways, if the Holy Catholic Church has started requiring full-face-concealing garb for its female congregants, I ain’t heard about it as of yet. Could be a different story for the nuns, I dunno.

There are several exceptions. Face coverings remain permissible for professional and health purposes as well as certain artistic, advertising and entertainment activities.

The restrictions also do not apply in places of worship or at holy sites. Aircraft and certain diplomatic and consular circumstances are similarly exempt.

Those distinctions have not stopped human-rights organizations from arguing that Muslim women who wear full-face veils will bear the practical consequences of the legislation.

João Godinho Martins, executive director of Amnesty International in Portugal, called the measure “a threat to human rights.”

“Despite having removed direct references to Islam, which were a part of previous versions of the text, this new law clearly violates the human rights of Muslim women who choose to cover their faces,” Martins said. “It is a direct threat to their freedom of expression and freedom of religion.”

Uh huh, right, assmunch. Funny, but I haven’t noticed any indignant, fretful noises emanating from either you or your organization concerning Moslem women’s “freedom of expression and…religion” in any other context, nor in any Moslem nations either. Gee, wonder why that might be.

My favorite bit is coming up, which you’ll recognize from the boldface I’ll be using for it.

Portugal is far from the first European country to legislate on the issue.

According to the Express, 24 other countries have imposed burka or face-covering restrictions of some kind. European countries with such measures include France, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Norway and Luxembourg, though the scope and legal structure of their restrictions differ.

Niiiice. Enough so to warm the cockles of even my cold, black heart, I gotta tell ya. Fingers and/or toes crossed (no, I do NOT have any toes anymore, sad to say) that it won’t turn out to be just another damnable instance of way too llittle, way too late.

Gen Z voters hate capitalism — but they’ve barely even seen it
Young voters are financially drowning — and the life raft the Democratic Socialists of America is throwing them is an anchor in disguise.

If Americans don’t see past this facade, they’ll be sinking even faster.

Consider a typical 22-year-old, fresh out of college with a business degree and a decent entry-level job in a booming city like Austin, Texas.

Rent eats a third of his paycheck, while nearly one-fifth of it goes to commuting costs.

He’s paying down tens (if not hundreds) of thousands in student loans.

Without help from Mom and Dad, a down payment on a home is decades away, as is marriage.

Little wonder that only 9% of voters under 30 have a “very positive” view of capitalism, or that nearly 60% of voters aged 18 to 24 want a Democratic Socialist to win the White House in 2028, according to a recent Heartland/Rasmussen poll.

Young voters are right that the system is failing them.

They’re wrong, though, about which system it is.

What they’ve experienced isn’t free-market capitalism at all — it’s a quasi-socialist economy that’s let government displace the market in precisely the spending categories that have become least affordable.

Turning further toward socialism means embracing the anchor that’s already weighing them down.

Just look at where their pain is already concentrated: education, housing and health care.

These are among the most regulated, subsidized and government-directed sectors of the American economy, and therefore the least like capitalism.

It’s no coincidence they’re also the least affordable.

What they’ve experienced isn’t free-market capitalism at all — it’s a quasi-socialist economy that’s let government displace the market in precisely the spending categories that have become least affordable.

Turning further toward socialism means embracing the anchor that’s already weighing them down.

Highlighting yet again the sheer diabolical genius of people like Alinski, Gramsci, Croly, Marcuse, and all the rest of the Lesser Demons.
