‘Needs to happen’: U.S. lawmakers move to designate American Muslim activists as foreign terror organization
The state of Texas already considers CAIR, the Quran-promoting Council on American-Islamic Relations, a terror group.

So do several foreign nations.

Now there’s a move developing in Congress to have CAIR officially labeled as a foreign terrorist group.

A report at the Center Square said the push is coming from key congressional members.

The group has asked the Trump administration to consider designating CAIR, which promotes Islam, as a terror group.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, already had called for that designation.

Now U.S. Rep. Randy Fine, of Florida, is sponsoring a plan to instruct the State Department to determine whether CAIR meets the criteria for an FTO label.

“It is a foreign terrorist organization,” he said in an interview with the Center Square. “I mean, CAIR was founded as an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. It’s the front for Hamas.”

Hamas is the terror organization that several years ago invaded Israel in an act of war and slaughtered some 1,200 civilians, kidnapping hundreds more.

U.S. Rep. Earl S. “Buddy” Carter, of Georgia, said, “It’s something that needs to happen.”

Sheeeeiit, pal, it’s something that should’ve happened YEARS ago. After 9/11/01, it’s somewhat difficult to fathom how it hasn’t…or why.
