  1. NYC to charge entrance fee.

I have a feeling NYC is about to see it’s population of Americans dwindle to near zero.

    1. I wonder if the admission charge is to cut down on the illegal aliens which Texas and Florida are shipping in.

  2. Mike, in his latest Eyrie coins a phrase I have heard said long long ago,
“…it’s baseball deep.”. This referring to the difference between us Americans and our cousins over in the old country.

It is true among all of our allied countries, the western countries. “They” have much in common, even the French and Germans. We Americans are different, vastly different, as in freedom and liberty different.

The destruction of America that is currently ongoing wishes to make us like them, and thus amenable to being slaves.

They’ll never understand baseball and I will not be like them.

Two countries divided by a common language

    1. “Mike, in his latest Eyrie coins a phrase I have heard said long long ago, ‘…it’s baseball deep.’”

You heard that one before, Barr? And here I thought I’d made up a good one all by my lonesome, I was mighty pleased with myself. Oh well. 😉

      1. You get full credit Mike. I “heard” it said, maybe 40 years ago. My late friend Bill said it in a similar way when we were discussing some foreign issue. We both played the game. I’ve not heard the phrase since.

          1. When I read your article that phrase just JUMPED right out at me 🙂
I do plan to steal copy use it…

            1. Have at it, buddy, I consider it a compliment indeed.

Oh yeah, meant to mention this earlier and forgot, what with the relentless march of one damned thing after another which seems to constitute life here at Totleigh Towers Casa Hendrix: I decided to discontinue the “Eyrie up” posts this week to just settle for changing the “Donnybrook” link when each new one goes up.

Monday it was sort of an experiment, just to see if Eyrie traffic would fall off without a separate post announcing it. Which, it surely did, but not severely enough to compensate for the numbing PITA that coming up with some fresh way of wording the same announcement over and over again two days a week had become. Pained me somewhat to refrain tonight, since I consider this one to be something kinda special, but there it is. A separate “Eyrie up” post is redundant anyhow, what with the Donnybrook link and all. From here on out, the Eyrie must stand or fall on its own, without further assistance from CF.

One last time: if you’d like to be notified when the latest Eyrie edition is posted, just subscribe; an email to that effect is automagickally sent by Substack’s software, or so I’m given to understand.

              1. Mike, I do get an email when you post a new Eyrie. I’m subscribed but not a paying member 🙂

So, I think it works. Heck, why not just post a link on the front page whenever you post up a new one? May be some people that like to read but prefer not to be subscribers, which may defeat the rewards system but more viewers is probably a good thing.

Comments policy

NOTE: In order to comment, you must be registered and approved as a CF user. Since so many user-registrations are attempted by spam-bots for their own nefarious purposes, YOUR REGISTRATION MAY BE ERRONEOUSLY DENIED.

If you are in fact a legit hooman bean desirous of registering yourself a CF user name so as to be able to comment only to find yourself caught up as collateral damage in one of my irregularly (un)scheduled sweeps for hinky registration attempts, please shoot me a kite at the email addy over in the right sidebar and let me know so’s I can get ya fixed up manually.

ALSO NOTE: You MUST use a valid, legit email address in order to successfully register, the new anti-spam software I installed last night requires it. My thanks to Barry for all his help sorting this mess out last night.

Comments appear entirely at the whim of the guy who pays the bills for this site and may be deleted, ridiculed, maliciously edited for purposes of mockery, or otherwise pissed over as he in his capricious fancy sees fit. The CF comments section is pretty free-form and rough and tumble; tolerance level for rowdiness and misbehavior is fairly high here, but is NOT without limit.

Management is under no obligation whatever to allow the comments section to be taken over and ruined by trolls, Leftists, and/or other oxygen thieves, and will take any measures deemed necessary to prevent such. Conduct yourself with the merest modicum of decorum, courtesy, and respect and you'll be fine. Pick pointless squabbles with other commenters, fling provocative personal insults, issue threats, or annoy the host (me) and...you won't.

Should you find yourself sanctioned after running afoul of the CF comments policy as stated and feel you have been wronged, please download and complete the Butthurt Report form below in quadruplicate; retain one copy for your personal records and send the others to the email address posted in the right sidebar.

Please refrain from whining, sniveling, and/or bursting into tears and waving your chubby fists around in frustrated rage, lest you suffer an aneurysm or stroke unnecessarily. Your completed form will be reviewed and your complaint addressed whenever management feels like getting around to it. Thank you.
