No posting yesterday, due mainly to extreme lethargy and ennui, and probably none tonight either. What with the daily rush of one damned thing after another which seems to constitute life here at stately Totleigh Towers Hendrix Manor, I gots me some serious recharging of the batteries I need to be doing. Free ice cream delivery will resume tomorrow. Thanks for your patience and consideration, y’all…
You know what’ll knock you out of that lethargy? Cocaine.
Looking at “Doctor” Jill nudes would do it, too, but the lethargy would be replaced by projectile vomiting, not exactly an improvement.
🙂
Nice contrast at least…
Take your time, Mike. We’ll be here when you feel like doling out the ice cream.
Get some rest – we’ll be here.
I got myself a case of that lethargy, too, this last weekend. Drove down to St Louis, the A/C in the car was barely working, so after 320 miles I was pretty hot, even driving with the window down. The circus tent at least had air conditioning, else the Flying Wallendas would have been the Falling Wallendas, and no one wanted that. Still, they just did a couple of high wire walks, and that was it, not like in past years where they had the flying trapeze. And the place where I stayed was 95 degrees inside. Luckily there were openable windows, and opening a couple of doors allowed for a cross-breeze to cool it down to 85 degrees. Found a small fan, and after a couple of hour was able to hit the sack. Headed home the next morning, 300 miles with the same A/C and by the time I got home I thought I had heat exhaustion. Getting back in my house was an adventure. Note: Gatorade does not help dehydration. Heat exhaustion does not cause nasal congestion, body aches, chills, and fever, which is what I had Monday – and a ton of lethargy and ennui, so I think picked up a bit of flu at the circus. o I did what I usually do for flu before it really sets in – took a dose of Oscillococcinum and some zinc acetate and quercetin for the congestion and went to bed – and woke up on Tuesday feeling fine, no chills, fever, body aches, lethargy or ennui. Drove over to my mechanic’s place, and got a recharge of Freon, and that made a huge difference. Avoided the cocaine, though, nowadays it would be laced with CCP fentanyl, which induces its own kind of lethargy…
