Got the addy of where they go Mike stashed. I actually talked to him today and boy-howdy, he’s in an especially ornery mood, as well he should be. He’s also high as all get the hell out on the good stuff. Bad news is the infection is now on his spine… they’re working it, and it’s ‘minor’ for the sake of minor, but he’s still kicking, and as I told him only the good die young…
So He’s at
CaroMont Regional Medical Center 2525 Court Dr, Gastonia, NC 28054
I know I’ve annoyed y’all enough but any love you can show him is much appreciated, as he said “I’m trapped here naked, eatin’ shitty food, and for some reason one of my legs is missing!!!”
The ‘good stuff’ indeed.
So yeah, no calls to him however. He’s got to rest and get better, so don’t be blowing up the fon there Aye?

Glad you got to speak with Mike and thanks for the report.
Still in our prayers. You tough sumbitch.
You ever have suggestions go terribly, terribly wrong?
About a month ago it came up in conversation that some days Mike wasn’t sure he was going to make it another four months. I suggested that if he really had doubts about it, and wasn’t just joking around and wasn’t playing chicken with garbage trucks or anything like that, then maybe he might go see a doctor.
So now Mike’s spent more time with doctors than he had in probably the previous ten years and I feel really guilty about it. Sorry, dude.
I have a pretty low opinion of doctors, in general. Some are quite good of course. If you’re ill or have physical issues, the intensive care units are usually pretty good. I never worried too much about my late friend when he was in intensive care units. The real problems occur when they are out.
Likewise, with the caveat that some of them could do better — put in more time and attention, make better diagnoses — if not for the utterly broken medical business system in the United States.
Some doctors, of course, would be arrogant assholes with god complex no matter the system. And some nurses would be burned-out misanthropes who are continuing to work only because they don’t have another way to make a living.
I haven’t seen a medical doctor in fifteen years, except to get antibiotics for an injury that went bad. (When the veins in your forearm turn black, it’s a sign…) I’m healthy and energetic, and seeing a doctor for a checkup is more bullshit than benefit.
Ditto that.
I’ve been to the hospital to have my gall bladder removed about 10 years ago. I’ve only been to a doctor for physicals (required for the racing license) and once a couple years ago for an infected cut that went badly, something that had never occurred before.
IMO, most doctors are trained but not highly intelligent. They have a good enough memory to remember what matches the symptoms but nothing more. That requirement is practically void now, just have the nurse enter the info and voila, all the possibility’s come up.
Why, it’s almost as though no doc is required anymore*
*See my earlier comment for the exception. Intensive care is a different story.
So you’re saying we should get AOC and Ms. McCain to visit him and strip???
You want to give him heart failure as well?
