New Yorkers ought to be deeply, deeply ashamed of themselves.
If I showed this picture to a person after 9/11 and told them it was New York 25 years later, they would have called me a psychopath pic.twitter.com/YuslPuGJZs

Q: How long does it take to completely forget an atrocity as heinous as 9/11/01 was?
A: Apparently, not more than 25 years.

New York isn’t the same place as it was. It use to be filled with Americans, now it is a 3rd world near shithole, soon to be lower than a 3rd world shithole. NYC is on track to become a hollowed out shell full of misery. Wall Street will move soon. Every financial company will get the hell out. And as the tax base leaves, NYC and NYS will attempt to squeeze the turnip further, accelerating the decline.
The truth is that most of “Wall Street” left NYC decades ago.
What is there are the large banks headquarters and even that is untrue. Charlotte has almost as large a footprint in Banking as NYC now, as two Megabanks are headquartered there.
The real money that trades is in Hedge Funds and they decamped to Anywhere But NYC long ago.
The only Hedge Funds in NYC now are the Algorithmic Trading Firms that run computer based trading systems. They are put close to the main computer to gain an electricity light speed fast edge over other traders by being close to the main computers of the Exchanges.
Maria Bartiromo used to report live from the NYSE Floor. We never see it anymore because on those rare, rare occasions they do show it there is about 5 people walking around almost aimlessly these days.
I knew Charlotte was big in banking. Best I recall they were 3rd Behind NYC and San fran and when Bank of America moved (bought) to Charlotte that moved Charlotte to 2nd place.
I expect the NYSE to move soon enough. I expect it will go to Texas.
