Update 2: The Texas impeachment mangers held back 4 charges that they “thought” they could hold over Paxton’s head:
“Four original articles were held in abeyance, with the Senate dismissing them in a vote conducted after the acquittal.”
The senate nuked those. As I said above, “Let the retribution begin“.

Actually 20 counts, the four set aside were dismissed on motion, passing 20 to 11.

The prosecutors – despite their remarks – really screwed the pooch on this one. My second jury trial was like this, the local media found my client guilty, guilty, guilty, and the prosecution’s only evidence proved *my* case, not theirs, and I used *their* evidence to prove my client innocent – as the jury so found, not one of them voting for a guilty verdict, media and the local powers that be be damned. Two months after, the prosecutor got tossed out by the voters, and her staff found employment elsewhere. That’s what happens when you put on a case not only with no evidence for your side, but when your evidence exonerates the person you’re putting on trial. From what I saw of this farcical prosecution, something similar just happened in Texas…

Clearly. They could not prove a single count. The “evidence” they presented exonerated Paxton.
This was a political witch hunt conducted by the bush clan working together with their partners in crime, the democrats. Half the Texas senators need to be primaried right out of office.

Why is this Texas impeachment important to the rest of us?
Because it is a clear case of the republicans using the same tactics and working with the democrats to remove an AG that acts like an American first. If they’ll do it to the Texas AG, they’ll do it to anyone, including the former president of the United States. Any and every so called conservative that tries to pretend that there is some smoke in the Trump indictments needs to be rebuked, and this is an example of the lies they will tell to stop Americans.
