Okay, old son, I tried to shoot ya an email telling you I’d look into the problem, and this is what I immediately got back from my server when I hit “send”:
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
Followed by your email addy, with a list of reasons the send failed—the gist being that there’s an authentication issue which led to your email address being blocked by the service provider.
This mail is unauthenticated, which poses a security risk to the sender and (service provider redacted) users, and has been blocked.
The message also included a link you can use to login and fix it, which I won’t post publicly for the obvious reasons; if you need it, I’ll put the specific URL up in the comments. But it would seem there really IS an “invalid email address” thang going on, so check into it. If you have an alternative email addy, you can also try using it to contact me if need be.
Testing and fingers crossed.
When I edited to add a remark and hit save the red banner reappeared saying email address invalid. I’ll be damned.
DAMMIT. Oh well, back to the old drawing board…
Okay, tried something just to see if it helped any, I’m guessing it won’t. I bumped your user status from “Subscriber” to “Contributor,” try again and see if that changes anything.
Mike, I think something has happened with WP. If you recall I had the same issue and Kenny has commented about it as well. It may very well be that every normal user has the problem.
Just another thing to add to your fun 🙂
Another test. After posting I’ll try an edit to see what happens.
No luck with the edit function. It’s screwed up (as Kenny mentioned a couple of times previously).
The funny thing is the edit function is out of whack at Bill’s place too.
Gotta be plugin issue, since it’s a plugin that enables the edit function in the first place. Just did three updates, one for the WordPress software itself and two for plugins, neither of which was the Mihdan Ajax Edit Comments plugin. That one hasn’t been updated in four years now, while the WP software has been I don’t even know how many times. Could be that’s where the trouble lies.
Hmm, Bill uses WP as well, so if it’s not working there…
I’d notify WP and see what they say if the latest doesn’t work.
