  1. SteveF just came to a terrible realization: SteveF is obnoxious and annoying. But not obnoxious and annoying enough! Henceforth SteveF shall refer to SteveF in the third person. Furthermore, SteveF shall cite aphorisms of dubious truth, value, or historicity. True, these aphorisms will not necessarily be obnoxious or annoying but, as SteveF always says, it’s the thot that cunts.

  2. Yesterday, SteveF resolved to be more obnoxious and annoying.
Today, the ColdFury site was unreachable for several hours.
Coincidence? SteveF doesn’t think so. As SteveF always says, Keep your aphorisms close but your website closer.

  3. My favorite time of the year for sports. We are at the beginning of the sweet 16 NCAA tournament games. The sweet 16 is dominated by the state of North Carolina with three (3) teams: UNC, NC State, and Duke. And our neighbor to the south, South Carolina, has one in Clemson.

First game coming up from the west region, Clemson Vs Arizona at 7:09pm Eastern time. UNC at 9:39. NCSU and dook play tomorrow.

    Go Heels!

    1. And we’re down to eight, UNC eliminated by the Alabama in a 2 point game (sad).
NC State, Duke, and Clemson survive. 3/8 of the Elite 8 are Carolina schools, all 3 being ACC teams, the ACC having started with five. The SEC that started with 8 schools is down to just two, Tennessee and Alabama. The Big East has one left having started with 3, UConn, the odds on favorite to repeat as tournament winners.

Sure is hard for a Tar Heel to pull for State/dook/Clemson…
So I’ll just pull for the state of North Carolina, Go Pack!
Ouch, that hurts. Good thing my grandsons don’t read here…

      1. And four…
        NC State beats dook
        Purdue beats Tennessee

        State plays Purdue

        UConn plays Alabama

The winners play each other for the tournament championship.

        1. NC State Wolfpack have beaten 5 ranked teams in 19 days.

Boeheim blessed them, inadvertently. In the first ACC tournament game be saw a clip of a bench player celebrating a three. He said in effect, what does this team have to celebrate?

Just 5 wins in 5 days for the ACC Championship and now 4 more in a row and on to the Final Four!

          Why Not Us?

          1. Beat Purdue and there is no reason you can’t win the next one.
I’m not a betting man, but I might just throw some cash picking State in the purdue game. Purdue runs through Edy, but state has the three stratospheric breathers that can make life miserable for him. Of course Edy is 6-7 inches taller than them…

            1. They have a better supporting cast this year, but our guards can guard people.

  5. Turkey turning the corner?
Having been to Turkey many times and knowing several Turks, it’s always been sad that Erdogan was able to steer the country towards the islamoterror path. I do not believe the majority of Turks wish that path and it looks as thought Erdogan’s party has finally begun to lose the iron grip.

    1. Hopefully you are correct. We had a number of Turks of the secular persuasion (regardless of their religious enthusiasm) working for us out of our London office.

  6. 7 years ago. I keep it on speed dial. It’ll brighten up the day of any Tar Heel.

Comments policy

NOTE: In order to comment, you must be registered and approved as a CF user. Since so many user-registrations are attempted by spam-bots for their own nefarious purposes, YOUR REGISTRATION MAY BE ERRONEOUSLY DENIED.

If you are in fact a legit hooman bean desirous of registering yourself a CF user name so as to be able to comment only to find yourself caught up as collateral damage in one of my irregularly (un)scheduled sweeps for hinky registration attempts, please shoot me a kite at the email addy over in the right sidebar and let me know so’s I can get ya fixed up manually.

ALSO NOTE: You MUST use a valid, legit email address in order to successfully register, the new anti-spam software I installed last night requires it. My thanks to Barry for all his help sorting this mess out last night.

Comments appear entirely at the whim of the guy who pays the bills for this site and may be deleted, ridiculed, maliciously edited for purposes of mockery, or otherwise pissed over as he in his capricious fancy sees fit. The CF comments section is pretty free-form and rough and tumble; tolerance level for rowdiness and misbehavior is fairly high here, but is NOT without limit.

Management is under no obligation whatever to allow the comments section to be taken over and ruined by trolls, Leftists, and/or other oxygen thieves, and will take any measures deemed necessary to prevent such. Conduct yourself with the merest modicum of decorum, courtesy, and respect and you'll be fine. Pick pointless squabbles with other commenters, fling provocative personal insults, issue threats, or annoy the host (me) won't.

Should you find yourself sanctioned after running afoul of the CF comments policy as stated and feel you have been wronged, please download and complete the Butthurt Report form below in quadruplicate; retain one copy for your personal records and send the others to the email address posted in the right sidebar.

Please refrain from whining, sniveling, and/or bursting into tears and waving your chubby fists around in frustrated rage, lest you suffer an aneurysm or stroke unnecessarily. Your completed form will be reviewed and your complaint addressed whenever management feels like getting around to it. Thank you.
