Heartbroken. Eric Montross died from cancer today, age 52.
Eric came to UNC from the state of Indiana. His father and grandfather both played basketball at Michigan. As a junior in HS, Eric had grown, grown to 7’1″ and 240 pounds. Eric was a giant of a man on the court.
He was even larger off the court. He was the kind of man most of us aspire to be. He was a good husband and father. He came back to Chapel Hill after his NBA career. He was a part of the UNC sports broadcast network providing color commentary for the basketball broadcasts.
I knew of him best as a tireless supporter of the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center. It started when he was a student, going to cheer up children that were undergoing treatment. It continued through his adult life.
He was an ambassador for everything good at UNC and for the his adopted state of North Carolina.
Rest peacefully Eric, all of us benefited from your presence on this earth.
Eric Montross Succumbs to Cancer
I was saddened to hear the news. a good basketball player but even more, a good man.
Somebody here at CF has been trying to warn us for more than a year…
The government raid on Mar a Lago to “get Trump” should have been a clue since it happened in the state of Florida, and the governor there issued a one liner and then hid for a week. What with the Florida gov receiving direct payment from Rupert Murdoch you should have seen what this meant. If you didn’t your political antenna needs further fine tuning. The GOP does everything in it’s power to fool us and the GOP is 100% opposed to Trump, but they use the typical R party trickery to do their dirty work. Nothing new here, 2016 Ted Cruz was just part of the strategy to nominate jeb! That failed so they went on with Cruz hoping to stop Trump. That failed.
In 2020 the R party is 100% complicit with the election steal. No, you say? What have they done to expose it, much less stop it?
Now the uniparty thought they could derail Trump with the Florida Gov. They gave him disney on a platter, all to fool us. It’s not working. Support for the Gov has dropped to single digits as people have become aware of the R strategy and that the Florida gov is just a Trump stopper.
For those who were fooled it’s important to learn a lesson in order to prevent them from fooling you again. They have fooled us all in the past. Bush comes to mind.
