I read somewhere that Ashkenazi Jews have the highest average intelligence of any racial group. That can’t be right. If Jews are so smart, then why’s the weather so bad?
Well, Jews aren’t a race, so…
A common misconception, as you know. Jews often share ethnic origins, but many people with Jewish genes are not Jews and vice versa.
That is a flawed study that was entirely wrong. In short, the IQ “test” was given to a select few that skewed the result. They are not any smarter than any other normal group.
IQ is difficult to test between disparate groups on top of all that. Proof you ask? I’m going to drop you into the middle of deep dark Africa. You have your choice of companions: a local that tests 85IQ on the western test, or Albert Einstein.
I think most people have high enough IQ’s to recognize the correct choice here. Albert would be low IQ on a test given by the deep dark African group.

If you want a person whose brain is really wired to survive in the bush, take the guy with zero IQ. He doesn’t care about tomorrow because you can’t put him in a situation where he can’t get what he needs today. He doesn’t think in categories or abstractions, he endures the present moment without mental crutches of any kind. And he wonders why civilized people are all so dull, clumsy and unsocialized.
