President-elect Donald Trump continued to fill out his national security team Wednesday, announcing that former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard will be his nominee for director of national intelligence.“I know Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our Intelligence Community, championing our Constitutional Rights, and securing Peace through Strength,” said Trump of Gabbard, who had previously been rumored to be considered for defense secretary and CIA director.

Sen. John Thune (R-SD) has been elected the next GOP leader in the Senate, ushering in a new generation of leadership after nearly two decades of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) running the conference.
A majority of GOP senators supported Thune, currently the Senate minority whip, in a secret ballot held weeks before Republicans take control of the Senate. He received 29 votes on the second ballot Wednesday, compared to 24 for Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) was eliminated in the first round of voting after receiving the fewest votes.
“I want to thank my colleagues who placed their faith in me to serve as leader, and those who were supporting another candidate,” Thune said in a press conference after his election. “I promise to be a leader who serves the entire Republican Conference.”
The leadership election marks a monumental changing of the guard. McConnell, who announced his retirement from leadership in February, is the longest-serving party leader in Senate history, having risen to the post in 2007.

The next Senate can kick Thune to the curb.
Gabbard and Gaetz are 24K picks, but if Gaetz hasn’t indicted most of his predecessors and their underlings by next Valentine’s Day, he’s a waste of skin and oxygen.
And Thune is just Yertle Jr.
The Senate is broken. Any Republican senator in place for more than 2 terms should be actively primaried out, in perpetuity, until we get a Seante that does the nation’s business, instead of lining their own pockets.
Revoking the Seventeenth Amendment in total as the constitutional abortion it has been since ever, and returning to the state legislatures appointing their senators, is the only remedy that will avail.
It would also tip the Senate to at least 59-41 in favor of the [R]s, making a bomb-proof majority, and relegating ChuckYou Schumer and his cronies to mere yapping from the back bench in 95% of all cases, and sweeping in a slate of federal judges at all levels of the judiciary slightly to the right of Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito, which would transform the country for the next two generations, and lead to judicially blocking metric fucktons of libtard stupidity that has accumulated nationwide since 1932.
The Seventeenth Amendment cannot be repealed soon enough.

I like Gaetz, and I really like Tulsi in a foreign policy position. She has been against the funding of the continuing money laundering operation and bloodbath in Ukraine. Good choices.
John Cornyn is up for election in 2026. The rumor is that Texas AG Ken Paxton will primary the RINO SOB. I had thought Paxton might get the Trump nod for AG, but Gaetz is his equal IMO.
