I caught shrapnel from a recoilless rifle round. It was 5 stiches and did not qualify for a purple heart. It sliced through my upper fore arm.
I have multiple deployments to war zone areas but I do not qualify for VA benefits. I was Guard and did not have two years Active Duty but I have 4 campaign medals. How F’ed up is that?
