So long, suckers; see ya in the fall

March 18th, 2008

I think maybe it’s beginning to dawn on some of us that this latest Obamaflap is going to be transitory, buried deep and forgotten well before November. Ace:

This is, as I understand it, the sermon delivered on Sunday, September 16, 2001. Firemen were still digging through skin-blistering ash in a futile effort to find more survivors of the 9/11 attacks. And putting their health at risk breathing heavily in air heavily tainted with asbestos and toxins.

Now, once again: Watch Wright’s relish — his nearly orgasmic delight — in saying “America’s chickens… have come home… to roost.” Watch this cocksucker dance and flutter his hands in a happy flourish as he celebrates and exults in the deaths of 3000 Americans and foreign nationals, all civilians and all innocents, as it represents a vindication of his sickening worldview and a well-deserved comeupppance for the nation he so deeply hates.

Now, Mr. Barack Hussein Obama: As your disgusting spiritual mentor and political guide is publicly celebrating the terrorism of 9/11 as blatantly as the Palestinian terrorists did that very day, and as excitedly as Al Qaeda does:

Would you say these comments are merely “controversial” or potentially “controversial”?

Would you like a second try at that, you rotten bastard?

No worries, he’ll get it. This story is going to blast right down the memory hole like a friggin’ gopher, and the stage for that is being set even now, as Leftmedia Inc fawns all over today’s Sermon on the Mount. Allahpundit, too, seems to be chafing a bit under the weight of the grim realization:

“[R]ace is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now,” saith the prophet, politely eliding the fact that he was only too happy to ignore it for 20 years when it was being belched at him from the pulpit in its most wretched form and then for another 13 months as a candidate until ABC dropped it on his plate and rubbed his face in it. Now, with his ass in a sling, suddenly it’s time for the great conversation. If any other politician tried a move this transparently cynical, to nudge the conversation away from his own craven tolerance of racial hatred to some sort of redemption narrative by which to hold that against him is to be, in effect, objectively anti-progress, the media would vivisect him. Instead, expect a full-body orgasm on “Hardball” tonight as the thrill in Chris Matthews’s leg spreads accordingly. Our commenters laughed at me the other day for calling him a spectacularly shrewd politician. How do you feel now?

Not much different than I did before, really, just like the Barrackolytes who, as I said before, agree with the Right Rev’s loathsome preachifying anyway. Maybe what I need right now is a good solid shot of that old-time religion.

Or just, y’know, a shot.

Better make it a double.

Yes, the media will swoon (did you see Andy Sullivan's near fellating of the Obamessiah?) but the problem for Barack is that his iconic status as a post-racial icon of hopeful changeyness has been punctured and with each backpedaling speech he is revealed as nothing but a bumbling and inexperienced partisan hack of the extreme leftist variety.

Now, to both his worshipful acolytes (composed almost entirely of blacks and white-guilt-suffering white liberals) and the MSM, that won't matter, but his whole schtick up to now has been that he's the only one who's able to transcend these partisan and racial divides, and that was the key to his appeal to non-partisans in the mushy middle.

But since he's more or less been revealed as just another partisan politician, his halo is irreversibly tarnished. Furthermore, it won't take too many replays of Rev. Wright's speeches to make non-white-guilt-suffering whites wonder just how big the chip on Obama's shoulder is, and whether it's smart to hand him the keys to the white house.

Looks like it's Buffalo Trace again. Straight from the bottle, now.
