Still think they want a “debate?”

August 22nd, 2009

If so, may I ask why, exactly? After months of their Messiah lying about how nobody is presenting any alternatives, Whole Foods CEO John Mackey presents some. The response? You got it: more demagoguery, lies, denunciations — and, inevitably, a nutroots boycott. “Debate,” my vicious, racist, Nazi, right-wing extremist-terrorist ass:

SHUT UP, the Left explained.

Gee, and to think I was in there yesterday and didn't even know it. No boycotters to incite to riot. Guess I have to go back today.

    Yep.

As long as Mackay is CEO of Whole Foods, I'm a customer. That means I pay a premium for food and spend a little extra for gas each week. It's worth it.

Mackay is almost everything liberals say they want in a businessman. Although he's against unionization, he pays his workers well. He provides them health insurance and lets them vote on the policy. He buys local and organic. He keeps his own salary reasonable--although it might be better if it was higher, since he donates it to charity. He's everything Ben & Jerry only whine about (before they sold out to the Conglomerated Conglomeration of Conglomerate Foods, Inc.).

As a guy who built a hugely successful business starting in his basement, he's exactly the sort of person we should seek out in this debate. He offered his own positive solutions in a respectful manner--and the best the Left can do is seek to punish him (and his employees & customers!) financially?

    (Organic Free-Range) Nuts!

Noel, I'd say it makes it as clear as anything else has yet what they're really after here: it ain't about health care, it ain't about reform, it ain't about helping the poor or anyone else; it's about control, a huge expansion of federal power into every possible corner of American lives. Full stop, end of story.

Mackey made the fatal mistake of straying off the reservation. Even if he were not a doctrinaire leftist (and he probably isn't, because even though capitalism works whether you believe in it or nont, people who don't believe in it don't allow it to work for them - how many filthy rich food coop members are there?), the lefties adopted him as one of their own. So they see this as betrayal.

I've read some of the foaming at the mouth denunciations they have made - oddly enough, it never bothered the lefties that Mackey had made himself wealthy through commerce, until last week. He's just as rich as he was before then, but now it's tainted money.

I just wish I were in CONUS so I could make a point of going to a Whole Foods.

There are Whole Foods littered all over San Francisco (right - big surprise) and I'm not necessarily a big patron. But I'm going to make a point of stopping in more often, just to shove it up the collectivist ass of the asses pushing this boycott.

I am now officially a customer of WHOLE FOODS MARKET.
I just shopped there today and spent about $22.00.

I was completely impressed about the whole store. I did not come away thinking I was paying a premium for the food either.

Of course, I didn't buy any of the expensive frozen meats.
Anyhow.. They have tremendous top quality Fruits and Vegtables.
I'd pay UP for this quality any day.
