“Israel’s preemptive war.” “A few small missiles.” Palestinians “living in concentration camps.” America “rightfully to blame.” It’s all here in this rich, rich vein of vapid isolationism, utter stupidity, and contempt for the only functioning democracy in the Middle East having finally decided to defend itself and its citizens after 7500 rockets over 8 long years. Watch it if you have the stomach for it; I warn you, it’s pretty damned disgusting. The line between Left and Right isn’t straight; it’s circular, and the ends meet right smack between this moron’s ears.

This is where libertarian foreign policy founders; there is always a world out there, and you have to engage it on your terms or theirs - you have to engage, so make the terms favorable to you. And that means acknowledging who is who, and what those players are. There is a difference between a democracy, a representative republic and a theocratic or fascist dictatorship. (The Cold War was an aberration in how the world works - see The Return of Kipling's World.)
In a struggle between Israel and Hamas, with the two sides not being equal in any logical assessment of goals, society, government, etc. do you treat them the same? If you do then you are a moral idiot, as well as a foreign policy and national defense idiot.
No nation can play Robinson Crusoe, and live in splendid isolation.
N.B.: Not that Robinson wanted to do so, he wanted the *bleep* off that island and back home!
