{"id":8042,"date":"2022-10-29T14:04:19","date_gmt":"2022-10-29T18:04:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coldfury.com\/?p=8042"},"modified":"2022-10-29T14:07:02","modified_gmt":"2022-10-29T18:07:02","slug":"good-ol-franky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coldfury.com\/wp\/good-ol-franky\/","title":{"rendered":"Good ol&#8217; Franky"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since I used up &#8220;Monster Mash&#8221; and &#8220;Haunted House&#8221; already, the two greatest Halloween songs EVAR, allow me to present another selection which I think is appropriate for the occasion.<\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P8f-Qb-bwlU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Yes, there&#8217;s a drum solo\u2014<em>two<\/em>, actually, even one of which is a big, fat strike against any live rendition\u2014and it weighs in at a hefty 9:18 long, much of which is Edgar Winter just basically making a bunch of goddamn racket on the synth towards the end. But it&#8217;s still pretty good overall, if you can put up with those two highly objectionable things.<\/p>\n<p>On the plus side, you really get a sense from it of just how short Rick Derringer is.<\/p>\n<p>Believe it or not, I came across <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/w-KN-dQc-4Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">another live version from 2007<\/a> with truly terrific sound quality, but 1) it was over twelve (seriously, twelve!!!) minutes long, and 2) Rick Derringer ain&#8217;t in it. So, y&#8217;know, screw all that noise.
