{"id":5748,"date":"2022-03-26T19:57:57","date_gmt":"2022-03-26T23:57:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coldfury.com\/?p=5748"},"modified":"2022-03-26T19:58:34","modified_gmt":"2022-03-26T23:58:34","slug":"another-rip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coldfury.com\/wp\/another-rip\/","title":{"rendered":"Another RIP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the leading heels from the world of pro rasslin&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/14\/wwe-pro-wrestling-world-mourn-death-of-scott-hall-at-63\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Dear departed\" rel=\"noopener\">is gone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Scott Hall, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer and a founding member of the New World Order,\u00a0died at the age of 63 on Monday.\u00a0The pro wrestling icon suffered three heart attacks from hip surgery complications over the weekend and was taken off life support.<\/p>\n<p>WWE announced the news to open \u201cMonday Night Raw\u201d \u2014 a show Hall appeared on the first episode of in 1993 as Razor Ramon \u2014 and wrestler Kevin Owens started the show with Hall\u2019s signature catchphrase\u201d \u201cHey yo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company also aired a video remembering Hall\u2019s legendary career in both WWE and WCW. It was the start of a flow of tributes that poured out of every corner of the industry to remember one of the its all-time greats and influential figures.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In those halcyon WCW days, Hall teamed up with Kevin Nash to front the infamous NWO, going on to seduce perennial babtface Hul Hogan over to the dark side and into heel status, for the first time in the Hulkster&#8217;s career. It was an unexpected move for Hogan, who said later that he had agonized over the decision, and remains uncertain if he did the right thing or not. This article goes on to feature tributes and remembrances of Hall from pretty much everybody who was anybody in Hall&#8217;s era. More can be perused at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wwe.com\/article\/wwe-legends-and-superstars-remember-scott-hall\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"The Company\" rel=\"noopener\">the WWE&#8217;s official website<\/a>, as you&#8217;d expect:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>WWE Legends and Superstars have shared memories and paid tribute to the incredible legacy of two-time WWE Hall of Famer\u00a0Scott Hall following his passing.<\/p>\n<p>Triple H and X-Pac both shared\u00a0heartfelt moments and examples of Hall&#8217;s larger than life personality.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, JBL, Trish Stratus and more would all share their gratitude for the impact Hall left on the sports-entertainment industry.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These Tweets include lots of great photos from what I consider to be the Golden Age of wrestling: WCW; NWO; the brilliant Sting saga. With super-genius Eric Bischoff masterminding the story arcs and plotlines, WCW had all the pieces in place: the sudden shifts in allegiance; the unlooked for knife in the back, shivved by a one-time friend; the best-laid plots, suddenly ganging aft aglee; the bitter, snarling rivalries; genuinely amazing feats of physical strength, agility, and utter disregard for life and limb&mdash;all this and more made for some damned heady entertainment. I said at the time the period could legitimately be thought of as today&#8217;s equivalent to Shakespeare. In 1992, Hall signed with WWE and introduced fans all over the world to the character of Razor Ramon, becoming a four-time Intercontinental Champion and one of the most enduring personas of WWE\u2019s \u201cNew Generation.\u201d\u00a0He participated in memorable rivalries against\u00a0Kevin Nash,\u00a0Bret Hart,\u00a0Shawn Michaels\u00a0and countless others, with his two Ladder Matches against Michaels at\u00a0WrestleMania X\u00a0and\u00a0SummerSlam 1995\u00a0both considered all-time classics by fans and industry insiders alike.
